(A/N): Enjoy!

CH.6

Little DJ left his room after getting himself dressed as he made his way up the fancy stairs to go eat breakfast. Upon reaching the area of the fancy dining room he saw his parents at the table. His mother, Tracy, was eating her homemade fruit salad while listening to music on the radio. His father, Franklin, was eating his eggs, bacon, and sausages while looking at his text messages and emails on his phone.

"Good morning, Mom. Good morning, Dad." DJ sat in his usual seat.

Franklin set his phone down and then looked at his only child happily. "Morning, son. Sleep well?."

"I sure did, Dad." DJ took the moment to smell the delicious breakfast. "Mmmm, Mommy this smells great."

Tracy smiled while grabbing her cup of orange juice. "I hope you enjoy every last bite, sweetie. Mommy busted her butt off in the kitchen."

Franklin chuckled while scooping his eggs. "If you call heating up frozen instant-ready sausages as cooking, then I do not know what to say about lunch."

"Oh, shut it, honey." Tracy took a bite of her food before looking back at her child. "So DJ, your grandfather wanted to know if you want to hang out with him since your uncle is tagging along."

DJ swallowed his food. "Yes, I want to hang out with Grandpa Michael, Mommy."

Suddenly out of nowhere, Lamar comes in with his bling attire.

Lamar used some gang signs with his hands when he talked. "Yo, good morning my favorite little mix family. How is it banging?."

Franklin sighed. "Yo, dog, how many times do I have to tell your crazy ass?. Ring the damn bell or call either me or Tracy that you will be joining us in the morning."

"Oh, whatever nigga. Anywho, I just happened to be in the fancy-ass neighborhood and wondered if you and DJ wanted to go and do something together." said Lamar.

Tracy handed Lamar a cup of orange juice. "Sorry, L, but DJ is going to hang with his grandpa and my brother."

"Sorry, Uncle Lamar." DJ took a bite of his food. "Perhaps next time?."

Lamar nodded while adjusting his fake glasses. "Sure, little homie. No problem caused." He looked at Franklin. "So, dog, are you up for the task that I have successfully made for us?."

Franklin spoke frustrated. "Nigga, what did you get our asses into this time?."

"I do not want to know." Tracy got up from the table. "Hurry up and eat your food, DJ. We are going to Grandpa and Grandma's house before I hear the wild ass make that quick money scheme that your uncle is dragging your Dad into."

"Ok, Mom." DJ went to work on eating all of his breakfast.

*Present/Now Time*

DJ woke up from the sleep of his childhood memory that was dear to him as he looked at his digital clock. Seeing that it is still in the night, DJ got out of his bed and decided to go make himself some warm sweet milk hot chocolate. Upon exiting his room with the door closed he then went over to check on his adopted baby sister. As DJ quietly opened the door halfway he poked his head in to see Anya sound asleep. He watched her snuggle into her incredibly soft fluffy pillow while holding onto her plushie, as he smiled a little when seeing this before exiting his head out of her room.

After closing the door back, he made his way to the kitchen and to his surprise he saw Loid at the table with a cup of warm coffee. DJ studied his adopted father and saw that he had something on his mind that he can not sleep on. DJ can understand that most definitely.

"Mind still bothered about yesterday, Dad?." DJ walked in to Loid's surprise.

"DJ?." Loid had a look of surprise. "Why are you up at this time of night?."

DJ came over to the kitchen closet where all the spices, trash bags, can goods, and other consuming prep items were located. "My dream woke me up. I'm afraid that I need something to help put me back to sleep. You?."

Loid looked at his coffee before lifting it up. "Exactly what you said. Yesterday was still bothering me. We were close. Until that swine made Anya cry, just by mentioning her scale love of her original mother compared to Yor's love. Damn."

DJ started adding warm water into his cup after pouring two packs of hot chocolate mix. "I know. He did that on purpose. He knew exactly what he was doing. That was very unprofessional."

Loid nodded before sipping his coffee and setting it down. "Indeed it is, DJ. We prepared for that interview to the best of our capabilities. Yet, you and I have overlooked the subject of dealing with the matter of Anya's personal issue concerning her relationship with her blood mom."

DJ came over to the table after getting the desired amount of warm water in his cup before he sat down. Stirring his spoon to ensure the mix is mixed in. "During the time she arrived at the orphanage that I was in, I never asked or dared to ask Anya about her real family. Did not want to further open the emotional wound of that little girl."

"That is very understanding of you, DJ." Loid took another sip of his coffee. "Guess you and I have no idea on what Anya has been through."

"Facts and No Cap." DJ stopped stirring and went drinking his chocolate drink. "And till this day, I would not dare want to know how she ended up in the orphanage with me."

Loid looked at DJ with a question in mind. "If you did know. What would you do?."

DJ was mentally prepared for this since it has been on his mind for some time. "I just comfort and love that little girl with all of my heart. Anya needs to know and feel that is being loved. Both soft and tough love."

"That I can relate to that." Loid sipped more of his coffee.

DJ set his cup down and took the moment to take in the sounds of cars going by. "What were your folks like?."

Loid took a moment to process what to say to the teen since that is a touchy subject. He sighed. "To tell you the truth, DJ?. I can not recall how my parents were really good. I lost them in the war when I was a kid. It was a painful day for me."

"Sorry for asking, Dad." DJ showing sad sympathy. "I had no idea that my question was going to emotionally hurt you."

Loid shook it off with a smile. "Do not feel bad about it, DJ. We are technically having a father-and-son moment. And to my surprise, it feels good."

DJ chuckled. "Yeah, that would look great for us, especially it will be convincing for the people in Eden Academy. That is if we got in."

Loid nodded in agreement. "And that is what keeps me worried."

After DJ and Loid finished drinking their drinks the two returned to bed in hopes of sleeping well. Hoping that they can think positively before the two-day results of the interview are revealed. Meanwhile, down at the extravagant luxurious casino playing on one of the machines, Kefla was spending away a couple of thousands into the machine and always betting on high. Gambling is the only way that will keep Kefla's mind busy and at ease when she does not get any response from her boyfriend, but she mostly does it for the sake of loving to gamble.

She still has not gotten a response from her boyfriend about the interview that he and his family have taken. She has been piling up DJ's phone with both multiple voicemails and text messages, but DJ has not once even bothered to respond to her. Kefla is starting to think that something went horribly wrong in the interview.

"No word from the boss?."

Kefla looked to her right to see Frank who pulled himself into a seat before inserting two hundred dollars into the machine. He set the bet wage to his liking and pressed the play button.

"Unfortunately, no." Kefla grabbed her cup of sweetened coffee. "I'm assuming they have failed in the interview."

"I doubt that the boss and his family have failed to secure their place at Eden Academy." Frank pulled out his gorilla glue weed cigar.

Kefla looked at the massive gambling machines area and saw it was about empty, since the majority of gamblers either went home or headed to the casino's rooms for sleep.

Kefla looked at her screen while continuing to play her gambling wager. "You think so?."

Frank lit his cigar. "I know so. Our boss is a genius. We are literally working for the most feared and powerful cartel leader in history. I had my doubts about the old prophecy growing up."

"Oh, yeah, I heard about it from the others." Kefla looked at the counted pay from her spin.

Frank puffed his cigar. "It is true. DJ saved my life when a drug deal went wrong. That is when I used to work for another cartel and before I helped jump start the boss's cartel as his very first drug dealer."

"Best and better gangster than me." Kefla smiled and looked at Frank. "You are right. I should have given our boss the benefit of the doubt."

Even the head agent in the WISE organization is given Twilight the benefit of the doubt. Regardless of what his female agent informative told him. The man has high hopes for Agent Twilight with zero doubts non whatsoever.

*Two Days Later*

The Forgers Family were starting to have superstitions going through their heads and emotions. It first started out with their medium sized family picture that they took, fell to the floor as soon as they sat down to eat breakfast. Then when they left the apartment and walked their way to the grounds of Eden Academy to see their final result score from their interview, DJ noticed that his pants had ripped in the front.

"What the?." DJ tried to close the rip. "My pants ripped. This pair is brand new."

"Well, DJ, not every fresh pair of clothes is perfectly made." Loid eyed the damage.

"Here, why don't you go to this store and buy a new pair of pants?." Yor pointed out.

DJ looked over to where Yor is pointing. He nodded. "Yeah, cool. Guys this will not take too long."

Just as DJ sped his way inside the store, Yor looked at her right wrist where her bracelets were located, and saw that one of them had popped with no explanation.

Yor had a look of fright. "Loid, my bracelet just popped!."

Loid brushed it off and smiled. "It is just a coincidence, Yor. Nothing to fear."

Yor nodded before looking at the front and saw a group of black cats crossing. She panicked and feared. "L…L…Loid!. B…Black Cats. Black Cats!."

Loid and Anya looked and saw what Yor was talking about. What were the odds of seeing a group of black cats crossing the sidewalk?.

"Alright, I'm back." DJ adjusted his new same color pants. "So, let us go and…"

DJ looked at what the others were seeing and did not like it. "Oh, hell, no!. Ok, we are not going to walk on this path where the cats are stepping on."

Loid looked at DJ. "Do not tell me you believe in superstition?."

DJ looked at Loid seriously. "Superstition has been proven to me multiple times. I am not doubting it today, tomorrow, next month, next year, and so on. Let us walk to the other side."

"DJ, son, trust me, superstition is just all in our heads." Loid explained with logic. "They are only real when you let them be."

"Papa?. Momma?. Big Bro?." Anya got their attention with a look of fear on her face as she looked down at her feet. "I just stepped in dog poop!."

"That is enough proof to me right there, Dad." DJ grabbed Anya's hand. "We are going to walk on the other sidewalk. Bad luck free.".

"I am right behind you on that." Yor followed the teen.

Loid sighed. "After what happened two days ago, we might as well get all the good luck we needed."

The four walked on the other sidewalk and reached the ground entrance of the school. Upon going in they saw the other families doing the same thing that they were here to do. The four walked to the large board and saw where they had landed based upon the score. To their disappointment, their fears have become a reality. They have failed miserably. All four were in utter shock to see their family name at the bottom with the low score rank.

Not wanting to see anyone, the four lowered their heads and walked their way away from the area.

"We failed." Loid spoke defeatedly.

"We failed." Yor spoke defeatedly.

"We failed." DJ spoke defeatedly.

"We failed." Anya spoke defeatedly.

"WE FAILED." They all said together.

"And it is all because I stepped in dog poop." Anya looked up with tears. "I'm so sorry!."

DJ broke his mental breakdown. He looked at Anya and rubbed her head with a smile. "Hey, now, it is not your fault entirely. We all did our part the best way we could."

Loid looked at his adopted son with a smile. "You are exactly right, DJ. We all did it our all. We can just look for another school for both of you to attend."

Yor nodded. "Yeah, that is right!. In fact, why don't we go home and I will whip up some nice warm sweet tea for us?."

"Say, that sounds good. And I can make us some cookies to go along with it. Plus, doing that time we can all sit down and watch movies or shows on tv. The TV guide book issue for this month is on the coffee table." DJ managed to calm Anya down as she smiled in liking the idea.

Loid took off his hat. "Well, family, that sounds like an excellent idea. That will keep our scare from putting us down."

After getting the plan made for the day on the spot, the Forgers continued walking their way out of the school grounds. That is until they heard a familiar face stopped them.

"Forgers?. May, I please have a word in private?."

They stopped and looked to the left and saw none other than Headmaster Henderson who was underneath the shade of a tree. This is starting to get very interesting to the Forger Family since they did not expect this turn of events. They followed the headmaster away from everyone as he led them into an outdoor tunnel hallway walkway, and looked at four with a look of strong professionalism and manners.

"Forgers, first off, I would like to say that it is indeed good to see you." Headmaster Henderson adjusted his monocle. "I know two days ago was a bit wild and whatnot and you have seen the result on the board. However…"

Headmaster Henderson reached into the inside of his jacket and pulled out a folded paper. Then he handed it to Loid, who took it and opened the paper. There printed on the paper was a list of children names and what it was none other than an actual waiting pending list. DJ asked Loid if he can see it and saw what it was, and felt relief with the idea of what this means before handing the paper to Yor. But Loid wanted to hear it from the man to confirm it to ease his anxiety.

"Headmaster Henderson?. Are you trying to say this paper is the legit waiting pending list for Anya to get into the school."

"Indeed it is, Mr. Forger. You noticed that your youngest child is the first person on the list, yes?. Well, that is all thanks to your son here." Headmaster Henderson looked at DJ.

"Really?. Like how?." DJ asked in wonder.

"Well, young man." Headmaster Henderson looked at the boy proudly. "You see it is all because of your high scoring grade of your test. In the guidelines of Eden Academy, the individual potential future student who scores a fair or above average on the test can be used as a waiver either for his or her sibling who have scored poorly on the test or the interview that we did have did not go the way that we wanted."

"The last part is true. I'm sorry." Loid spoke with sympathy.

"Oh, I should be the one to thank you." Henderson got their shock reaction. "Answer me this. What are the most dangerous deadly animals that strike as a harm to humanity?."

"Poisonous snakes. Poisonous bees." DJ answered as that is quite obvious.

"Very true, DJ. But not as dangerous as a mosquito. Mr. Forger, your questionable actions have saved Headmaster Swan's life." said Headmaster Henderson.

Loid nodded before being handed the paper back from Yor. He looked at the paper for a brief moment and looked back at the headmaster. "So, how can Anya automatically be attending school?."

"Usually some families will pull their child out of the school based on personal things at home. Sometimes that is not the case. Sometimes the child gets pulled if one of the parents is no longer with us." spoke Headmaster Henderson.

With that in mind, Yor and DJ had extreme overkill thoughts on the solution of getting Anya into Eden Academy. Unfortunately, for Anya, she had to read the image of it. First it was Yor's mind she read, as she saw the woman in her assassin attire and approaching a scared man who fell down to the floor.

"T..T..Thorn Princess?!. What are you doing here?!." the scared man asked.

Yor stepped closer with her weapon in hand. "Secretary Zachry Feiss, I presume?. If it is not too much trouble, I will be taking your life tonight."

This scared the man as he started pleading with tears running down as he backed up against his desk. "Please, no!. Spare me!. Please, spare me!. I have a son who is just about to turn six!. You see, he will be starting at Eden Academy next month!. If you kill me, my son will not be able to attend the school!."

Yor sadly looked at the man with tears foaming as she held tight to her golden stiletto weapon in each hand. "I am terribly sorry. Really. But that is exactly why I am doing this."

"W…What?!." came the scared man.

"For the sake of my eldest son and youngest daughter, I want them both to enter the same school together. I want both of my children to have the same equal opportunities and not the damn opposite." Yor raised her golden stiletto up while still having tears running. "So, I need you to die!."

"Noooo!."

Yor shook the evil thoughts out of her head and spoke in her mind. "No, Yor, you must not do that! You must not take the life of an innocent person, Yor!."

It got worse for Anya when she then turned her attention to DJ's mind. Anya sees DJ in his Arkham Knight cartel persona holding his pistol and having both parents and two kids on their knees.

"Please, Arkham Knight, we will never cause any issues within your cartel. We are loyal!." the man called out.

"We never take your weed!." the woman spoke in fear.

"That is true." DJ loaded his pistol. "But I need my baby sister to go to Eden Academy and I need fall people. You guys are it. So ya kiss your asses goodbye."

"Nooo!."

DJ shook his head after hearing his pistol sounds going off. He thinks to himself. "Ok, that is so out of my character persona. I do not take lives of innocence. I take lives who are F-ing up my cartel and other things that pose a threat to my golden empire."

"Momma and Big Bro are on some stuff." Anya spoke in her mind.

"You two ok?." Loid looked at Yor and DJ.

Before the two could even speak, Headmaster Henderson spoke up.

"Please, do not stress and anxious yourselves, Forgers. Eden Academy is a lot of things. Letting go of a strong potential future student like you, DJ, is not one of them. You see, you are very rare. No one answers every question on the entrance exam test with ease. Having you in this school will make the school look good academically. The last thing Eden Academy needs is for you to be attending one of our rivalry schools. You will get a call if young Anya has gotten in." said Headmaster Henderson.

"Why thank you for informing us about this." Loid spoke. "This means a lot to us."

Headmaster Henderson nodded. "I am pleased to know. However, after I got physical with Swan after our interview, I may have found myself kicked out of the school. I dedicated my whole life to this school and I have no idea on what to do with myself."

Loid had a feeling that this might interfere with his current mission. "Is there anything we can do?."

Headmaster Henderson shook his head. "I'm afraid not, Mr. Forger. The damage is done. No one can help me. I wish you and your family the beat of luck."

Upon saying that, Headmaster Henderson walked away to attend to whatever business he has to do today. However, DJ on the other hand is going to fix that issue. The black teen values in paying debts in full and in one day or the next. To be honest to himself he really liked Headmaster Henderson. He reminded him of his homeschool tutor back when he was still in his world.
