Soft lips brushed against his skin, leaving a burning trail as they danced across his chest. Goku groaned, wanting to feel more. He dug his fingers through Chi-Chi's silky hair and breathed in her sweet, mouthwatering scent. She smelled so good. She probably tasted even better. He moved his hands from her hair to her shoulders, intending to drag her upward and return her kisses with his own, but then she moved lower, nibbling and licking and sucking her way down and he dropped his hands to the sheets instead, gripping them tight.
Every touch of her mouth…her tongue…Goku wanted to taste her in turn but he was helpless to move under the assault of her kisses. They just felt so good.
Goku groaned again, feeling his weiner stiffen as Chi-Chi sat up, pressing their lower halves together. Something about the movement just felt right! He slipped his hands up her strong thighs and grabbed her hips, pressing his own upward, seeking that delicious friction even as she pulled away.
"Chi-Chi!" he begged, practically whimpering. "Don't stop!"
He wouldn't be able to handle it if she stopped!
Thankfully Chi-Chi obeyed, running her nails down his stomach before slipping her fingers into the band of his boxers making Goku gulp.
She was gonna do that thing, that thing he'd seen on Master Roshi's videos. He didn't know how he knew, he just did. She'd use that pretty little mouth of hers to press kisses against his aching groin and…
Goku shuddered. Suddenly he felt like he'd never wanted anything as much as he wanted to feel her lips on him right now.
His boxers disappeared and Goku reached down to touch her? Stop her? He didn't know. All he knew was that the top of her head was suddenly strangely soft and…squishy?
…
Goku opened his eyes with a start, confused to find Chi-Chi's head in front of him instead of lower down his body. Was that a dream then? It had felt so real! In fact—he squeezed his hand—he could still feel that soft, squishiness from his dream…
His gaze followed the length of his arm down to the hand in question where it was currently groping Chi-Chi's bump.
Aaah!
Goku leapt back, clutching his hand like it was cursed, and then noticed the very large bulge in his boxers. He peeked inside his underwear and was surprised to see his weiner pointing straight out. What the hell was wrong with him? Was this because of what happened? Did he catch some kind of disease that turned him into a pervert when he was sleeping?
A low moan made him jump back against the wall, only for Chi-Chi to roll over, displacing some of her blanket, exposing one long, muscular leg. Goku gulped, recalling how that leg had felt underneath his fingertips.
How his dream self had run his hands up those thighs and slipped around her back, pressing her close. Close enough that he could kiss and nibble her all over…
No! Bad Goku!
He punched himself in the face and was relieved when the urge to touch her—and his weiner—seemed to die down. He wasn't a pervert. And he sure as hell wasn't about to act anything like that bastard!
"I'm not like him," Goku mumbled.
He wasn't like him at all. He'd never hurt Chi-Chi. He'd never hurt anyone! But especially not Chi-Chi. And definitely not like that. He wouldn't hurt her or touch her in bad ways she didn't want. He was gonna protect her forever.
He just…he was…
Goku's stomach chose to growl at that moment, reminding him that he hadn't had anything to eat since before they dived down to Qinglong's yesterday.
"That's it!" Goku grinned, feeling relieved. "That's what's wrong with me! I'm just hungry!" He patted his stomach as he made for the door. "Don't worry boy, we'll getcha somethin' to eat, just you wait."
…
Chi-Chi groaned at the sound of a door slamming and blearily opened her eyes to find her familiar white comforter pulled up to her chin. She shoved it away, suddenly uncomfortable with its weight, and sat up looking around.
When did they get back here? Better yet, where was 'here'? The last thing she remembered was the maze and then training with Qinglong…did Goku set up camp in the middle of the god's territory? She had a vague memory of Goku carrying her and putting her in their bed and…tucking her in…golden blankets? Wait, that wasn't right…
She rubbed her head, trying to think. There had been another bed before this one but…but it hadn't been Goku carrying her…it had been…
Chi-Chi froze as an image of Hou Yi looming over her flashed in her mind.
That's right! How could she forget?! She'd woken up in a foreign room disoriented and in pain from training with Qinglong, barely able to open her eyes. She had thought he was Goku!
Chi-Chi gasped as more flashes started coming to her. Hou Yi's hand on her chest. Him pulling down her sleeves. The way he moved in to kiss her…only for him to miss and trail kisses down her cheek and neck instead…
She put a hand to her mouth, feeling like she was going to be sick.
Did he…had she…why couldn't she remember?!
She struggled to think back before things had gotten foggy…something had been pressed to her lips…something sweet. A drink. Was that it then? Had that villain drugged her? With what?! And what did he do to her after?!
Chi-Chi ran to the bathroom and threw up what little was in her stomach. When she was done she leaned against the tub, the cool porcelain easing her feverish skin.
That's right. Whatever he had drugged her with had made her unbearably hot and he'd felt so cool…she'd practically begged him to touch her.
Tears welled in her eyes as she recalled her shameless behavior. She'd practically thrown herself at…
Another flash, this one of her straddling a bare chested Goku, made her pause.
Goku? Goku, had been there?
Chi-Chi sat up as she struggled to remember.
If Goku had been there…then…then he would have stopped Hou Yi. In fact, now that she remembered Goku had been there, she knew he had. Everything was so much clearer. Hou Yi—Chi-Chi shivered—Hou Yi had just stripped off his shirt when something had caught his attention, drawing him away. It could only have been Goku because the next thing she remembered was him appearing by her side, still clad only in his swim trunks, and…and…
Chi-Chi's face turned red hot as she recalled exactly what she had done.
"Oh my god!"
She buried her face in her knees, wishing Qinglong had just trapped her for a hundred years instead. How could she ever face him again?! While her feverish skin had had her shamefully begging for Hou Yi's touch, that had been tame compared to how she had reacted upon spotting Goku. She'd practically assaulted him! And after he had just saved her!
Chi-Chi stood and went to the sink, splashing some cold water against her face before muffling a scream.
What had she done?!
She knew she had always been attracted to Goku. He was so handsome she couldn't imagine there was a girl that wasn't. But the things she had felt…the strange desires that had sparked in her upon spotting him in her drugged state…they hadn't even had their first kiss yet! To rub against him the way she had…it was so embarrassing!
Chi-Chi pressed her forehead against the bathroom mirror wondering if her cheeks would be permanently stained red.
She would need to face Goku eventually…but…but at least now she knew nothing happened. She could live with the embarrassment considering the alternative. Speaking of…she should probably go thank him—and apologize, she definitely needed to apologize—but if he hadn't shown up when he had…
Chi-Chi's stomach rolled uncomfortably, unable to finish the thought.
"Well then," she muttered to herself, running her fingers through her hair before tying it up with a ribbon. "I just won't think about it."
When she was satisfied that she looked respectable—because the last thing she wanted was to have this conversation with bed head—she stepped back into the living space only to finally realize Goku wasn't there. Since she'd just been in the bathroom, that left the outside, but when she opened the front door, he wasn't there either.
Chi-Chi crossed her arms, feeling hurt. How could he just leave her like that after everything that happened? Then again, knowing Goku, he probably went to find breakfast. When was the last time they'd eaten? He was probably starving if he hadn't had the chance to eat since that quick lunch they'd had.
For a second she considered whipping him up something as well. She didn't like the thought of him going hungry and he'd certainly earned the best meal she could manage, but she didn't know how long he'd been gone already. Maybe just some side dishes then? Something to go along with whatever meat he brought back. However the second she started thinking of what to make, her stomach rolled in protest. Just the thought of all those aromas threatened to make her sick.
So maybe cooking would have to wait but she couldn't just sit around doing nothing! Her mind was too anxious over everything that had happened to just sit around and wait for Goku's return. She settled for straightening up their things but there really wasn't very much after she put their futon away.
Growing frustrated, Chi-Chi finally decided on practicing her katas, knowing the patterned motion was better than any meditation she'd ever managed. She hadn't performed the routine much since Goku had started training her—they were more warm ups than anything—but considering what Qinglong had taught her, she figured this would be a good way to combine the two so she could use the new technique in the future without much thought.
Once she'd changed her clothes she stepped outside a ways from their capsule home and began going through the movements.
First she delivered two swift punches, followed by a roundhouse kick. Next came a blow to the chest but as she followed through with the strike, she imagined her opponent and folded two fingers while charging the rest as she hit the blockage point just under an imaginary rib.
That was all that was needed to take down a weak man but to someone like Goku, she knew she would have to do more to slow him down. She tried to imagine his mischievous face, the one he always wore when he was content to watch her struggling to hit him, but the smirk looked too cocky, too masculine for Goku's boyish face.
And the chest was all wrong. Too broad and hard. The image stoked Chi-Chi's anger. It didn't matter how strong he was, she knew she could take him down! She swung her foot around, aiming for the ankle of her opponent before charging another attack, this time for the neck. She pictured him falling to the ground and then delivered a blow with her knee straight to his smug imaginary face.
Chi-Chi lowered her fists, taking a moment to breathe. She knew she hadn't been fighting Goku but she didn't want to think about that right now.
She readied herself for the next set by sliding one foot out. Maybe she'd never be as strong as Goku but she could sure as hell bring someone like that wretch to her level. Chi-Chi charged her hands and struck, wishing she had had a chance for a rematch before hitting his imaginary jugular.
If he ever returned, she would be ready.
…
A happy Goku jogged back with his catch, feeling more like himself after a swim in the ocean and food in his belly. He was still hungry though, and he was sure Chi-Chi needed to eat, so he rounded up several more to bring back, now that he was back to normal.
He really had just been hungry! And even if that wasn't it, he was sure it was just a lingering side effect from what had happened when Chi-Chi was drugged. He had certainly felt drugged himself, maybe Chi-Chi's kisses transferred it?
Sure she hadn't kissed him on the mouth…but she'd kissed him other places…
No!
Goku shook his head rapidly.
He wasn't gonna think about those things any more!
Goku gripped the fish tight to his chest and took off at a sprint, determined to get back before his head could wander down a path he didn't want it to go. He arrived back at the capsule house in no time at all and perked up when he saw Chi-Chi standing outside.
She must be feeling better if she was up and about! "Chi-C—"
His voice trailed off as he watched Chi-Chi go through a series of steady movements. Even from this distance, her concentration was clear. It would be bad to interrupt her.
Goku rubbed the back of his neck, feeling disappointed that he'd have to wait to speak with her, but his disappointment didn't last for long once he realized he was finally getting to see her in action! He'd been too busy during the Tournament staring at her face and trying to figure out who she was to see her fight and when they sparred, he was too busy focusing on his own moves to really take in her own. The only real time he'd gotten to watch her had been right after the Tournament, when he'd found her beating up that gang. He'd been impressed then but he was certainly no less mesmerized now.
Ever since his Grandpa had first taught him he had thought that martial arts looked cool, but watching Chi-Chi made him realize how beautiful it could be. The way she moved, the strong lines of her body…it was like she was dancing.
He had liked dancing with Chi-Chi.
He liked sparring with her too. Especially when she got that confident look on her face…Goku liked that look a lot. It excited him. Made him want to challenge and tease her. To get close to her.
His weiner twitched, snapping him from his thoughts and making him groan. What was wrong with him?! Hadn't he fixed this already?
"Goku!"
Goku jumped, dropping the fish as Chi-Chi made her way over to him. He scrambled to pick them up—as well as hide the weird way his body was acting—but something had to be wrong with him because every time he managed to get a hold of one he dropped it immediately right after!
"Goku," Chi-Chi called again, stopping just out of arm's reach.
Goku looked up from the pile of fish, waiting for Chi-Chi to say something but Chi-Chi only seemed to open her mouth just to close it again. Her pretty cheeks were bright red and sweat was beading down her brow, strengthening her scent. Thankfully it was just her normal smoke and wildflowers but Goku still shoved his hands in his pockets as he rose to his feet, determined to keep his hands to himself.
They both stood there awkwardly for a minute before Goku thought he ought to break the silence and shyly asked, "How are you feeling?"
"Oh! Um…I'm alright…I'm…fine…" Chi-Chi finished lamely. She looked away, embarrassed to an unreasonable degree. Why couldn't she just say what she needed to say?! Goku probably thought she was so weird!
But Goku was too busy examining her for injuries to notice her odd behavior. He didn't think that bastard had hurt her but he still didn't know how to tell.
"That's good," he said after a moment, nodding as he looked away as well. He scratched his cheek, trying to think of something else to say. Should he ask about what happened? Or would that make Chi-Chi cry? He wanted to avoid that if possible but he didn't know what to do! Chi-Chi had been the one to comfort Mr. Daigo's daughter, not him.
"Um…Goku?"
Goku perked up at hearing Chi-Chi's sweet voice and turned his gaze towards her expectantly.
He looked so adorable with his head cocked to the side, Chi-Chi couldn't help but blush even more. Still, she needed to say this, so she'd just have to power through.
"Goku, I just wanted…I just wanted to thank you for what happened." Chi-Chi mumbled, fiddling with the end of her sash. "If you hadn't come…"
"So…he didn't…?"
"No!" Chi-Chi said so quickly that Goku jumped in surprise. She blushed and tried again.
"N-No, you stopped him."
Chi-Chi wasn't sure how she expected Goku to react to this statement but crushing her to his chest was not it. Still…she thought she could understand. She slipped her own arms around him holding him close.
"I'm glad you weren't hurt Chi-Chi," Goku whispered, squeezing her closer. " I promise he'll never come near you again."
Chi-Chi sighed, relaxing in his embrace. When Goku made a promise he kept it. She knew he'd never let that man bother her again. "Thank you Goku…and I'm sorry for trusting him. I should have listened to you."
"Not your fault," came his muffled reply.
She didn't agree but she wouldn't argue with him about this. There was something else she had to apologize for though…
"Goku," she murmured, burying her face into his chest. It was bad enough she had to apologize for this but she couldn't do it while looking him in the eyes! "Goku…I'm sorry about…what happened after…about touching and kiss—"
She felt him stiffen before she was suddenly shoved away.
"W-What are ya talkin' about Chi-Chi?" Goku asked, his gaze firmly anywhere but her. "Nothin' happened!"
"I…what?" Chi-Chi blinked. She stumbled back as Goku released her suddenly and snatched up the fish he had dropped.
"Anyways ya gotta be hungry right? Let's eat Chi. I'm starved."
Chi-Chi watched him practically race back to their capsule home without even looking back once to see if she followed. She crossed her arms and huffed in annoyance. Sure it was embarrassing but the least he could do was let her apologize!
Well fine! If he wanted to act like nothing happened then so would she!
She stomped back to their home, intending to fix up a few dishes while he set about roasting the fish. While she hadn't been able to stomach the smells that morning, her anger helped stave off any discomfort she may have felt cooking now. Instead all her unease came from the awkward silence hanging between them. What was normally a peaceful quiet as they went about their tasks, now felt heavy and oppressive to an uncomfortable degree but Chi-Chi was determined not to break first.
The food finished cooking and Chi-Chi fixed Goku a plate and handed it over, while she settled for just a small cup of tea.
Unfortunately Goku noticed.
He handed her a skewer while keeping his eyes on his own plate. "Eat up Chi."
"I'm not hungry," Chi-Chi told him, pushing the food away.
Goku turned his gaze on her and frowned. "Ya gotta eat Chi. It's good for you." If she still had any of that drug in her system, food would give her the strength to fight it off.
Chi-Chi really didn't want to but she could see that he was going to be insistent on this. She huffed and took the skewer, eyeing it apprehensively. Now that her anger had settled down again, her stomach was already protesting at the sight of the oily food. Would she really be able to swallow it down? She wasn't so sure.
Still, she knew he was right. It would be good for her to eat something. She sniffed it carefully and then took a small nibble. When her stomach didn't heave right then, she braved a larger bite. This was a mistake.
All at once her stomach seemed to somersault, even though she was sitting down, and Chi-Chi suddenly began to feel clammy. She really didn't want to eat this but Goku was still watching her, so she shoved her discomfort aside and took another small bite.
"Mmmm, sooo good," she mumbled around a mouthful of food, hoping that would be enough to satisfy him. When he didn't look away she added, "It's delicious."
Goku smiled, glad to see she was eating. If she was eating that meant she was okay. Except…she sure was making a lot of noises. Was she always this vocal? He shifted uneasily. He couldn't remember but it was making him uncomfortable. It sounded a lot like the noises she was making last night…maybe…maybe the drug was still in her system? He should probably get more of that antidote…
Chi-Chi gasped suddenly and jumped to her feet. "Oh! How could I forget?"
She dashed inside and came back a minute later holding a bag full of several nectarines.
"This is just what I needed," she mumbled, peeling the skin off one. As soon as she was finished she popped a piece into her mouth and hummed. It was so juicy and refreshing! Much better than an oily fish. She popped another piece into her mouth and sighed. Thank goodness she had seen that stall at the festival the other day.
She was about to eat another slice when she noticed Goku watching her intently. Oh! He probably wanted some too. "Sorry! Did you want some?"
She pressed the bag containing the nectarines against his hand but as soon as they touched Goku jumped and slapped the bag from her hand, knocking all the fruit to the ground.
Shocked, Chi-Chi just stared at him with wide eyes as several nectarines rolled into the fire but all Goku could do was gulp. How could he explain why he was so on edge?
"S-Sorry," he stammered, backing away as Chi-Chi rose from her seat.
"Goku?"
But Goku wasn't ready to explain what was going on with him.
"WAIT! GOKU!"
Chi-Chi's shoulders slumped as she watched Goku's retreating figure disappear into the distance.
He left her.
He left her.
Why the hell did he leave?! What was his problem?! He'd been acting differently ever sin—
Chi-Chi's eyes widened as she realized why he had suddenly run away. He'd been acting differently ever since she tried to apologize for throwing herself at him!
Had he…had he really hated it that much?
She knew he had never really thought about such things in the past but she thought…she thought that maybe…hadn't he at the festival…
Chi-Chi blinked, feeling tears start to burn her eyes, and wiped them hurriedly with the heel of her hand. She couldn't…she couldn't deal with this right now. Not after everything else. She took several deep breaths and when she was sure she wasn't about to burst into tears, she quickly put the food away, grabbed her jacket and pulled out the capsule for her airbike.
If he could run away then so could she!
A long ride on her airbike was just what she needed. She tossed the capsule for it and jumped on before the smoke could clear, needing to just go, and took off in a burst. She guided the bike through the hills until she came to a wide open plain with a small mountain not far in the distance.
Chi-Chi smiled, relieved. It was the perfect place to lose herself for a bit. She changed directions and picked up speed as her mind drifted back to Goku.
She…she had to be over thinking things, right? He couldn't have…he couldn't have really hated it that much, could he?
Chi-Chi revved the engine, going a little faster.
He had never acted this way from her kisses before. He had even kissed her the day of the festival! Hell the whole reason they were traveling together was at his insistence!
Chi-Chi drove a little faster.
That was the kind of thing married couples did! He knew that! She knew that he knew that! They had talked about it! Had he just never realized they would do those kinds of things if they got married?
Chi-Chi urged her airbike even faster, soaring across the open land as tears blurred her eyes.
Did she really disgust him that much?
She rubbed the tears roughly from her eyes, knowing she needed to focus, but the second she returned her gaze to her path, she saw the mountain looming right in front of her!
Oh no! There wasn't any time to stop!
Chi-Chi threw her leg over the bike and twisted the wheels so that it slid to the ground, hoping the drag would slow it down, but it was still going too fast, she was going to crash!
She threw her hands to her face and screamed.
All at once her ki surged to her forehead, a single burning point right between her fingers. It shot out in a single pink beam straight into the mountain even as Chi-Chi and her bike slammed into the rocks.
She fell to the ground, aching and disoriented, and looked up as half the mountain began to crumble and slide. Chi-Chi stared up at the sky blankly. Before she could even process what was happening, the world came crashing down.
…
Goku tugged at his hair for the twentieth time, feeling like the biggest coward. Why did he just run away like that?!
He knew Chi-Chi was probably confused and who could blame her? But how could he explain that being around her was turning him into a pervert?! She had barely escaped from one asshole, he wasn't about to make her worry whether she was safe around him.
A sharp spike in ki snapped him from his thoughts, followed by the thunder of a small mountain crashing in the distance. That had almost felt like…
Chi-Chi!
"Nimbus!" Goku cried, hopping on the little cloud and speeding toward the thick blanket of dust. That wasn't where he'd left her but the signature had felt too similar. Though how she had managed such a blast he didn't know.
Unfortunately when he got there he couldn't see anything past all the dirt. Well there was one way to fix that.
"Kamehameha!"
Like a vacuum all the dust was sucked up into his blast and shot upward as it soared into the sky, clearing the way for him to see.
But Chi-Chi wasn't anywhere in sight.
He felt for her ki.
There! She was under all the rocks! But her ki was flickering!
Goku jumped atop the pile and started tossing boulders aside one by one until he reached her at the bottom of the rubble.
"Chi-Chi!"
He carefully pulled her away from the airbike and examined her wounds. There were too many to count! She needed a senzu bean!
Goku snatched the magic pouch from his side and reached in, praying that there were some available.
o0o
"Aren't you embarrassed hanging around here day after day? You couldn't even make it past the qualifying rounds! And you call yourself a warrior."
Yajirobe put his beans to the side and crossed his arms with a huff. "Shut up! You know as well as I do the whole thing was rigged! It was just bad luck I ended up facing Kami before the rest of 'em. They wouldn't have stood a chance otherwise!"
"Whatever you need to tell yourself," Korin mocked, shaking his head as he resumed his tasks.
"Keh. Whatever," Yajirobe grumbled, reaching for his food again. "Not like I need to prove myself to a dumb cat. Hm?"
That's weird. Hadn't he placed the beans down right beside him?
"Hey Korin! Whatcha doin' stealin' my beans?!"
WHACK!
"What was that?" Korin asked.
WHACK!
"This dumb cat couldn't hear you over all that incessant whining."
WHACK!
"Alright! Alright!" Yajirobe cried, scrambling away. "You made your point! Now gimme back those beans."
"Well I'm sorry to disappoint you but I didn't take them."
"What? But then where'd they go?"
o0o
Goku felt the sack of senzu beans drop into his hand and sighed in relief. Thank goodness! He hurriedly took one out and pushed it against Chi-Chi's lips.
"Chi-Chi you gotta eat this, kay? It'll make everything better I promise."
When Chi-Chi didn't respond Goku frowned. Chi-Chi would die if she couldn't eat the senzu but she didn't seem like she could eat it either.
He squished the bean between his fingers and then carefully placed it in her mouth, massaging her throat to get her to swallow. The results were instantaneous and Chi-Chi opened her eyes at the same time he felt her ki return to a healthy hum.
"Chi-Chi!"
Goku threw his arms around her, relieved that it had worked.
"G-Goku? What happened?"
She was asking him?
"I'm the one who should be askin' that," Goku huffed, cupping her face with his hand. He rubbed some of the dirt off her cheek with his thumb. "If it wasn't for the senzu bean, you would have died."
Chi-Chi blushed at his touch. He was being so gentle that…well, maybe she had overreacted earlier. It certainly wouldn't be the first time. She tried to remember what had happened and suddenly remembered crashing her bike.
"Oh!" Chi-Chi gasped, turning to look at her airbike.
She cringed when she spotted the twisted heap of metal. That was a special edition one too. Her Papa had spent hours trying to convince the makers to sell him one.
"Chi-Chi?"
Chi-Chi blushed, realizing Goku was still waiting for an explanation.
"I was going too fast and not paying attention," she admitted after a moment. "When I realized I was gonna crash I tried to slow down but it was too late."
"Is that when your ki spiked?"
Chi-Chi blinked. "My ki? What do you…"
Wait. There had been a moment when her ki spiked, right before…
She looked around, taking in the mess around her and then up to the large chunk missing from the mountain's side. Did…did she do that?
"Goku!" Chi-Chi gasped, spinning around and throwing herself at him. "Goku! Goku! I did it! I blew up the mountain!"
Goku stiffened at Chi-Chi's actions until her words hit him. She blew up the mountain? He looked up and then back down to the woman twisting around excitedly in his arms. Chi-Chi blew up the mountain?
"That's great!" He grinned, picking her up. "I told ya you'd get it eventually!"
He spun her around laughing wildly—he knew she could do it!—and then crushed her to his chest.
She blew up a mountain!
Goku pulled back to look at her but wasn't prepared to see her eyes sparkling up at him or that wide, pretty smile of hers. His cheeks burned hot and his heart jumped into overdrive as he leaned in. She looked so pretty and she smelled ama…
Goku stiffened and immediately let go, taking a step back before he could do something stupid, causing Chi-Chi to stumble.
One second she was happy and warm in his embrace, the next she was alone and bereft. She didn't understand his abrupt change in mood. Everything seemed back to normal, so why did he suddenly move away? She looked him over, noting his red cheeks and the way he could no longer look at her and decided that maybe he was just…shy.
If…if that's all that was wrong, then she could handle that. It wasn't like she had wanted to jump him in the first place! Well…aside for a kiss that is. She had wanted to kiss him since she was a little girl…but not anything like what she had done under the drug's influence.
So if he needed time to warm up to more physical types of affection, that was fine. She could wait as long as he needed if that was the case.
Chi-Chi dusted herself off, frowning at the tears in her dress, and made her way over to her airbike to salvage what she could.
Yes, everything would be alright. Goku wasn't disgusted by her…just shy. He was still here after all. That had to count for something.
o0o
"WHAT?!" Chi-Chi shouted, making the crowd around her jump. "What do ya mean you're goin' a way for a week?!"
"I thought you'd be happy," Goku replied, his hands raised as he tried to calm her. "You're always wantin' us to find work when we hit a town."
Well sure but they'd always been together!
Goku perked up at the sound of a steam bell whistling before she could speak. "That's me. See ya in a week!"
He threw a sack of supplies over one shoulder, gave her a salute, and then bounded up the rampway as the boat was pulling away, leaping the gap with ease.
Chi-Chi's shoulders dropped as she watched the ship sail off, her previous fears resurfacing.
"But what about me?"
