Seven Years Ago…
Five months have passed since Arachnid swiped Spider-Man's web shooters. It's been almost half a year so far, and Arachnid has already racked up a tremendous fortune in loot. Arachnid has even built up a reputation among the criminal element in New York City.
Zipping his way over to the rooftops in Chinatown, he took a hard thump on the ground in exhaustion. Taking a break, Arachnid pulled out his backpack to check the manifest he took after looting an entire armored truck. He had to break a man's arm to get the tip. He even got some info from the man he works for.
"I'm gonna need a bigger place to stash all this loot soon. Wonder if big Willie Fiskie has more trucks coming soon. I still can't believe I managed to loot an entire money truck. Definitely checking off my bucket list." Arachnid said to himself, impressed with how much he's done this past few months.
"So far these past five months I've racked up about…" Arachnid paused to do mental math. "Six hundred million dollars… Damn, this city is packing." Arachnid said to himself.
Arachnid took a moment to lay down and relax, but then he heard some commotion down in the alleys near him.
"Ugh, really now?" Arachnid graoned
Arachnid looked to see a few punks around Noah's age chasing some kid, a girl who looked to be somewhere between five or six years old. From her shredded and dirty clothes, she must be homeless. Watching her trip, the boys were about to close in on her, and the Arachnid won't let them. Seeing the very sight made Arachnid's blood boil. If there was one thing Arachnid hated the most in the world, it was seeing children being hurt.
"So this is the brat who thought she could steal my wallet." The tallest jock called out. Popping his knuckles, "Well, we're not gonna have that now are we boys?"
"Nope."
"No sir, we are not."
"Help… Anyone." The girl squeaked.
The rest of the boys were about to gang up until a man in black jumped between them and her, and his green eyes carried a vile glare.
The men took a step back, "Unless you boys want a few broken bones, I suggest you run."
The boys were hesitant, but they were getting shook, "And what are you supposed to be some Spider-Man rip-off!" One of the lesser boys spoke up, trying to sound tough.
"Do I look like Spider-Man to you! You got five seconds to run or I'll show you why the criminals are afraid of me. The Arachnid!" The lead jock took a step back but was still hesitant, just barely.
His fight or flight instinct was kicking in; he could sense it. The leader chose to fight and tried to punch the Arachnid. He caught the Bully's fist with little effort.
"That's one broken bone."
"EEEUUUUUGGHHH!" Arachnid crushed the big guy's entire wrist.
He tossed the big teens to his boss back, "So what's it gonna be?"
The kids fled the moment Arachnid asked.
Turning around to see the kid in the corner all huddled up, "You okay?" Arachnid asked.
"Thank you." The kid managed to say something. She stepped out of the shadows. Her skin was caucasian, she had a mop of frazzled blonde hair, and Noah could smell her through his suit.
Arachnid kneeled down to the girl, placing his hands on her shoulders, "Let me ask you something. You hungry?"
The girl nodded fast and rapidly.
The next thing he knew, he offered the girl a hand, and when she took it, he hauled her over his chest, kept one arm wrapped around her, and webbed up to the nearby roof.
The kid was silent in awe at the thrill of being in the air.
"That was so cool!" The kid yelled.
"I thought so, stay here I'll be right back with something." Arachnid jumped off the roof of the building.
At the nearby Chinese restaurant, "Fu Lin's Little China," the entire restaurant went silent to fear as Arachnid entered like a casual customer.
The line was torturously long, but fortunately, the entire line cleared out at the sight of him.
"I'd like two orders of Orange Chicken, two sides of noodles, and two of those canned lemonades. Keep the change and make it snappy." Arachnid requested casually, handing the cashier a hundred-dollar bill.
"This hundred-dollar bill has blood on it." The cashier said.
"What's your point?" Arachnid said.
"Nothing." The cashier nervously ignored the situation, figuring the less they knew, the better. "OK, that'll be a few minutes, sir."
"Thanks."
After waiting a few minutes, someone came with his order, nervously handing it to Arachnid. As he was being handed the meal, one of the employees beside him was pulling a gun on him. Fortunately, Arachnid caught the guy, and he didn't hurt him too badly, just enough to make him drop the gun. He caught the gun before it dropped to the floor and laid it in front of the employee who still had his meal. Finally being handed his meal, Arachnid gave him a couple of hundred dollar bills to avert any tension.
"Buy yourself something pretty." Arachnid said to the employee.
Just as soon as he was about to leave, a man with a loaded shotgun was about to rob the place.
"Heads down!" The robber was about to fire his gun to the ceiling, but Arachnid caught him and kicked him in the nuts, throwing him outside, and webbed him to the pavement. He looked over at the people and looked over at the employee who was going to shoot him.
"Even?" Arachnid asks…
"Even." The employee admits.
"Have a good day, everyone." Arachnid departed.
Coming back to the building, Arachnid found the girl at the edge staring down at the busy streets.
"Hey kid, I'm back," Arachnid said, holding up the bag. "And I brought dinner."
Arachnid cartwheels on one hand and sat beside the kid.
"Thank you… Arachnid?" The kid thanked him by name.
Arachnid reached into the bag and pulled out their dinner handing the kid half of the food.
"Chow down." Arachnid lifted his mask to reveal his mouth and wolfed down his noodles first.
The kid is eating the orange chicken first.
"This is so good!" The kid praised.
"So kid, what's your name?" Arachnid asked
"Angie… Angie Williams."
"Where are your parents?" Arachnid asked.
She stopped eating after receiving that question.
"They… They didn't want me." Angie teared up after answering that.
Noah knew that feeling, so he patted her shoulder, Angie didn't feel in danger around him.
"Thank you for saving me." Angie praised the Arachnid.
"Kid, don't you know who I am?" Arachnid asked.
"You're a superhero! Like Spider-Man!"
Arachnid scoffed at that statement. "Kid, I am no superhero. I'm the Arachnid."
"Arachnid the Super Hero!" Angie cheered.
"Ugh, Kid, I'm not a superhero I'm a supervillain. Supervillains don't save people. Besides what Superhero would ever call themself Arachnid?"
"Well, you saved me and gave me food," Angie answered. "So that makes you a superhero to me."
This kid is really starting to get on his nerves, however true she is. "If I were a superhero, I wouldn't have injured that boy."
"Spider-Man injures people."
"Criminals, not civilians, let me tell you, you wanna meet real heroes?" Arachnid said quickly.
"Yeah!" Angie cheered.
"Then let's eat up, and ill take you there!" The two of them scarfed their entire dinner in half an hour, and Arachnid held Angie and took her somewhere special.
"The FEAST shelter?" Angie asked.
"You know what hero's really are?" Arachnid asked.
"People who wear suits and fight bad people," Angie said.
"NO! Heroes are people who stay strong and become the best they can be. Heroes work hard to make a difference for their home. This FEAST shelter is owned by a good man who does exactly that. Which is why I brought you here. There are good people who will take good care of you." Arachnid knelt and gave the kid a few hundred dollars from the money he took from the armored truck, "You make this last alright, kid? Promise?" Arachnid asked.
"I promise!" Angie swore.
"Good!" Arachnid patted her back and nodded her way to the shelter.
Before she could leave, Angie raced over to the Arachnid and hugged him, "Thank you, Arachnid! Will I see you again?"
"To be honest, I hope you don't see me again. I'm not a role model." Arachnid spoke the truth.
Angie let him go and ran over to FEAST, but by the time she turned around to see him again, he was gone.
Today…
"That was a good memory." Arachnid said to himself.
Looking at the graffiti art of the Green Spider Angie made, "I'm glad I did right by you, Angie. I guess it's fine that Arachnid can be a symbol of good to a few."
Arachnid was about to leave until he thought, "Heh, why not!" He pulled out his phone and took a selfie with the green spider wall art.
At the Fisk Estate, Spider-Man has just about wrapped up the Demons, they seemed to have found the file and the redhead that had it.
Dragging her to the floor, the Demon threw her forward, whacked her behind the head, and grabbed the file she had taken.
Spider-Man broke through the glass door and webbed the ones with guns, and threw them to the Demon who had the file. Knocking him out clean.
"Wow, what's with the glowing hands?" Spider-Man asked as he was fighting the Demons.
"So what are you guys, Spectres? I've fought Spectres before, but you don't seem like them." Spider-Man asked the last Demon in the room, still conscious. Though he had to web him up to his shame.
"I got the file." MJ held with a smile.
The sales advisor Rose Rosemann, "Hey, get your hands off-" A sudden force, which seemed like a kick, pushed her to the ground, and swiped the file from MJ's hands. Though she wasn't harmed.
For a moment, Peter's blood froze in an instant. Only one person could be responsible for that stunt. Peter's spider-sense does not lie, he hasn't felt this presence in months.
"Thanks for doing the heavy lifting, Red." MJ was thanked by the Arachnid as he decloaked.
"A-Arachnid?" Spider-Man stuttered.
"Spider-Man, I knew Big Willie couldn't kill you." Arachnid praised his rival and gave him a few slow claps. "Nice suit, that new? Gotta say, I like the old one better. The white spider looks stupid."
"What the? Arachnid, You're supposed to be retired."
"I was, and I enjoyed it. Unfortunately, it didn't stick. After putting Fisk away, you created a power vacuum, and with that I saw opportunity. What can I say? This is just who I am, Spider-Man."
"Well… Your new suit is… Okay, it's actually kinda cool." Spider-Man admitted.
"Thanks, it was a gift from an old acquaintance of ours. You know, I can actually see the appeal of that white Spider. Is that tri-weaved carbon fiber?" Arachnid asked.
"It is actually, good eye, man," Spider-Man answered.
"That's awesome!" Arachnid Instantly zipped to Spider-Man, using their friendly chat to lower his guard. Sending a hard kick right to his face.
"We've been at this a long time, you and I. Shit, I really missed you, Spider-Man, I won't lie. I missed this." Arachnid praised his other half.
Spider-Man returned the Arachnid's kick with a zipped-over hard punch to the face.
"I swear, Arachnid, is this all just a game to you?" Spider-Man shunned.
"Oh, c'mon, you and I both know you secretly enjoy this. I can tell. Maybe we were destined to do this forever." Arachnid webbed a heavy piece of a broken samurai statue and threw it at Spider-Man.
Dodging the projectile, Spider-Man zipped back to Arachnid and laid more jabs on him. Finalizing the beat down, he gave him a hard uppercut that sent him flying. Given the advantage, Arachnid webbed to the floor and planted both his feet on Spider-Man's chest. Webbing both his hands, he sent an elbow drop with a flip to Spider-Man's stomach.
The sudden pain gave Spider-Man a daze, paralyzing him long enough for Arachnid to web one of the Demon's sickle blades. Preparing for the final strike, blade on the front, he held the sickle in the air with only one more push.
"Kill him!" The Demons cheered in both English and Chinese.
Arachnid swung the sickle, and Spider-Man turned away and closed his eyes. After a moment too long before death, Spider-Man opened one eye to see the glowing weapon an inch beside his head to the right.
"Spider-Man is right. It's no game. I just want to see Anna and Josh alive." Noah thought beneath the Arachnid's cowl.
"I can't do this." Arachnid broke into a whisper. Spider-Man could barely hear him, but Arachnid's lenses showed what emotion he was feeling.
Arachnid hauled back up and threw the sickle at one of the demons sending him on his back to the floor. Arachnid stepped down from Spider-Man and zipped out of the estate with the file from one of the demons, and cloaked himself to escape.
Spider-Man broke out of the webbing and was left to fight the rest of the Demons.
"Well, that was interesting." Spider-Man said to himself as he hauled out the last few Demons.
Spider-Man walked over to one of the unconscious Demons, removing his mask to look at it, "Hm. Looks antique. I think I know someone who can track down where this came from…" Spider-Man heard incoming police sirens, "A job for later." Spider-Man left the premise.
The cops arrived to arrest all the Demons. Rose approached MJ with a furious scowl.
"I just talked to Craig. You are not the reporter he was sending. You don't even work for Heritage Arts." Rose was furious.
"Never said l did." MJ held out her hand, "Hi. Mary Jane Watson. Daily Bugle."
"Y-you will not write a word of what you saw here." Rose put her foot down.
"For the record, what do you know about the file the Arachnid and the other masked men stole."
"That… I don't…" Rose stuttered.
"What about the long history of stolen goods Fisk has laundered at this auction house?" MJ had no remorse in her words.
"Your editor will be hearing from our attorney." Rose left the scene with a huff in defeat.
Receiving a notification from her phone, she checked to see Pete was texting her, "Hey you OK?"
"Fine. But they got away with the file." MJ replied.
"Sorry. I'll make it up to you. Dinner at Mick's?" Peter offered.
"Mick's? Like the last six months never happened?" MJ said to herself out loud.
With a heavy sigh, she conceded, "Sure, see you in a few." MJ replied.
Zipping through New York to the docks of Hell's Kitchen, he arrived at the drop point. The pier once belonged to Wilson Fisk, but the Demons have claimed this place.
Inside the pier, Arachnid found a few demons doing logistics on their current weapons and arms. They were speaking in Chinese, and there was a photo of Tombstone, Lonnie Lincoln with APC schematics.
"Do you have it?" the head Demon asked.
Arachnid held up the file. "Yeah, I do."
The glowing Demon took the file from the Arachnid's hand and looked over the details.
"I took a peek. Wilson Fisk called this Devil's Breath the equivalent of Pandora's Box. Care to explain what you need from this?"
"Don't overstep your boundaries. You're just hired help. So stay in line, and you'll get your reward."
"Yeah and you promised me my reward now!" Arachnid was losing his patience.
"Of course, we retrieved the tech you wanted. Here's the location." The Demon gave him a thumb drive and placed it on the table between the two.
Arachnid took the drive and plugged it into his suit. His HUD showed the location of an abandoned storage facility under the name "Consolidated Shipping".
"I'm sure you'll find the tech to meet your required standards." The Demon said, putting his hands behind his back.
Arachnid made no further comment. He just left without looking back.
Mick's
"Since when did Mick's become Italian?" MJ asked Peter.
"No idea… but I'm still glad he makes these fries." Peter praised as he took one.
"Totally, best in the city." MJ took one as well.
"So, how's the grind at the bugle?" Peter asked with a smile.
"Mm, well… Yeah, well, I just got an all-caps text from Robbie about my so called 'antics' tonight." MJ placed her phone on the table, "So, looks like I'll be meeting with the legal team. Again."
"Nah, soon as he reads the article you're gonna write. Guaranteed promotion." Peter assured.
"So, Arachnid, creepy mask guys. What's your take?" MJ asked.
"Aside from Arachnid back in the mix, just another night in the city." Peter was actually.
"What happened to him?" MJ asked.
"He said he was retiring a few months ago, and then I stopped hearing of any crimes being committed by him," Peter explained.
"Well, something had to bring him back. He said when Fisk was put away, a vacuum was made, and he found more opportunity. You said he's been retired for the past few months. You don't just vanish for that long and come back just for more opportunity. Nah there's gotta be more to why he's back." MJ pondered, "There's definitely a bigger story here…" MJ said as she was looking at the menu on the wall, looking back at Pete, "Y'know let's not make this about business. How's it going with you? I've been meaning to see Noah and Emma, how've they been? Did you get that promotion?" MJ asked regarding their other friends.
"No, as for our friend Noah, he's working with me and Dr. Octavius. He's been a great help. Emma… Well, she and Noah had twins, but they're both very sick." Peter explained.
"Oh no… I had no idea. I've been so worked up at the Bugle. I'll give them a call later tomorrow." MJ's face saddened when she heard all of that.
"That's good. Aside from that, the work we do with Otto is going great. We're gonna change millions of lives. It feels great to be honest and with Noah beside me." Peter was enthusiastic about their work. It's a nice change of pace for him.
"Wow, the way you say that it sounds more important than your other job. Never heard you talk like that before."
"Yeah well a lot can happen in six months." Peter added.
"Why did you ask me here, Pete?" MJ asked.
"You know, just dinner between friends." Peter answered.
"Friends. Is that what we are?" MJ asked.
"I-I mean we could be. If that's what you wanted.
"There's a lot of baggage here." MJ spoke the truth.
"Yeah sure but, is that so bad? I mean baggage can carry good things too. Like uh- money and uh, keys, and raspberry lip balm." Peter explained rather childishly.
"Do you remember why we broke up?" MJ asked.
"This is a trick question isn't it?"
Before Peter could even try to answer that question a few police sirens passed the restaurant going down on third.
"Saved by the siren."
"Talk to you later?" Peter asked.
"Go." MJ nodded and Peter took off. Laying her head in defeat, she left the payment in cash.
"Love seeing you together again. You always were my favorites." Mick praised Mary Jane.
Arachnid arrived at the location of the tech he was promised for delivering the "Devil's Breath" file. It was stashed at one of the Consolidated Shipping locations. Taking the roof hatch, he dropped to the floor to see one truck. Opening the back hatch, he found the Oscorp tech he needed, but unfortunately…
"What the FUCK!" Arachnid was given only a third of the tech he needed.
Soon after his outburst, a cell phone rang on a nearby table. Noah angrily walked to the phone and answered it. "I was promised OsCorp tech, this-"
"Is what we promised, OsCorp tech. Now yes, obviously, it's not all of the tech, but rest assured I will give you the rest… In time, but you have more work to do before that happens."
"I swear the people who hire me, people like you, never want to let me go, all just because I always one up against Spider-Man. So let me tell you this, don't you FUCK WITH ME!" Arachnid's blood was boiling.
"Funny, my men seem to recall you hesitating to kill Spider-Man. Are you sure that's still the case?" The Demon rejected.
"You… What do you want next?" Arachnid swallowed his anger to talk clearly.
"Work before emotions," Arachnid repeated in his head.
"We'll call you when you're needed. For now, we've assigned Herman Schultz to cover the next assignment," the Demon instructed.
"The Shocker? Fine." Arachnid nodded in disbelief.
"For now just lay low until we call you." The Demon hung up the phone, and when the line ended, Arachnid threw the phone at a nearby wall. Shattering it to pieces. Arachnid looked at the tech, it wasn't all of what he wanted, but it was a part of what he needed.
On the table where the phone was located, Arachnid saw the keys to the truck.
"Fine." Arachnid hauled in The truck and drove the tech to his base.
After delivering the tech to Central Park, Noah called Emma, "Hey sweetheart, everything okay?"
"I… I hit a patch in my work to help our kids. I-ugh… I could use you at the hospital where our kids are at. Just need some family time." Noah begged as he was zipping across the city.
"Give me thirty minutes," Emma assured in a stern, determined voice.
"You're the best Emma." Noah praised.
"My big bear needs his cubs. You can be sure I'll be there." Emma cooed.
"Emma, please stop with the names; you know I hate them." Noah sneered.
"Well, given our kids current condition, I think some fun names are the last things to worry about." Emma talked facts.
"God I love your wit." Noah praised.
"I'm heading to the hospital now, Noah. I love you too." Emma called him as she hung up the phone.
"I swear that woman always finds a way to turn things around," Noah said as he arrived at the rooftop near the hospital.
Stashing his suit in a duffle bag in the corner under some industrial air conditioners, he made his way down the fire escape to walk the rest of the way to the hospital.
At the main entrance, Noah asked the front desk, "I'm looking for Josh and Anna Monroe. I'm their father, Noah Monroe."
"Oh them, yes, we transferred them to an ICU facility. I'll have a nurse take you there."
"Thank you." Noah was relieved.
After a few minutes of waiting, Noah met with the nurse who took him to his kids, "Just a heads up, my wife, Emma, will be here soon. Let her know of this."
"Of course, sir." The nurse promised.
Following the nurse down the facility, they went through the halls to the ICU facility.
"Alright here's their room." The nurse gave Noah.
"Thanks, is it okay if I have a moment alone with them? I won't touch anything. Just a few minutes, please?"
"We'll give you a few minutes." The nurse gave Noah.
"Thank you." Noah was humbled.
Entering the room, Noah found his kids in a rather standard condition. So far they don't seem to be in terrible shape. Which gave him a lot of relief.
"Hey Josh, hey Anna, how are my two kids doing? I know what's happening is hard, and I promised you both I'd do anything to save you, and I mean that but… What's happening." Noah wiped away a tear to keep his composure standing, "I'm scared I'm gonna lose the two of you, not because of this illness but because of what I have been doing. I've been employed by some super-powered criminal group calling themselves the Demons. I'm scared I won't be the father you need me to be when I have the cure to the venom inside us."
Noah picked himself up from his emotions and wiped his watering eyes. Shaking away his nerves, he opened the door to see the nurse with Emma.
"Sweetheart." Noah hugged Emma the moment he saw her. He needed her to embrace more than ever.
"Noah, honey, what's wrong?" Emma asked.
Noah just gave her another hug.
"I just needed to see you and our kids. I had… I had a chance to save them, but I only got a piece of them. I'm scared I won't have time." Noah confessed, but not entirely.
"You mean we won't have time." Emma corrected.
"What?" Noah questioned.
"I don't know what you're doing, and I want to question everything you're doing. What you're doing to save our kids scares me every waking minute… But then again, I want to hug our kids again, knowing they're going to live long lives. What you're doing, are they going to live long lives?" Emma asked.
"I want them to live long lives, and I will do anything to make sure they do that, though… I'm afraid what I'm doing will cost them their father. Noah confessed entirely, "Peter told me that great power comes great responsibility. My responsibility is to you and our kids. If sacrificing their father would mean you and the kids will live… Would it be worth it?" Noah confessed entirely this time, but not directly.
Emma didn't have the words to answer him, so she answered with a tight hug, "Any father willing to risk a part of themselves for their children is worth everything." Emma spoke the truth.
"I wouldn't know for sure. I hardly knew what my father has done for me," Noah said honestly.
"Well, knowing my dad, I don't know either, but if I had to realize that from someone, I'm glad it was from you." Emma praised.
"Noah Monroe, Emma Monroe, you have a guest waiting for you at the lobby." the nurse called them over the intercom.
"Did you call someone?" Noah asked Emma.
"No," She responded.
Making their way to the front waiting room, they couldn't believe who it was, "MJ?" Emma whispered. She slowly walked closer to her as if she were a ghost.
"Hey guys, Pete told me about-" MJ couldn't finish her apology when Emma slapped her.
"What was that for?" MJ held her cheek.
"Sorry, that was for not being here when Josh and Emma were born. Peter and May were there but you weren't even after you promised you'd be." Emma had to gather herself from her brief moment of anger quickly. Quickly after, she embraced her, "This is for being here now." Emma confessed, her embrace brought a warm sensation.
"We're sorry about that, MJ. It's been a rough week. I'm sure you understand." Noah tried to deescalate the reunion.
"It's okay. I took you and your kids for granted. I'm so sorry." MJ still embraced by Emma, rubbed the back of her best friend's head.
"Thanks, MJ." Emma released her grip from around her, "You said Peter told you about the kids? Are you talking again?" Emma asked.
"Yeah, we bumped into each other, and went to Mick's," MJ explained.
"That's great! We could use all the good news we can find right now." Noah answered.
"Well, think they'll let me see them with you?" MJ asked.
"Of course, the kids need to meet you," Noah answered.
"With any luck, they'll get to meet you as their aunt MJ," Emma called.
"I'm sorry?" MJ asked.
"Don't worry, c'mon let's go see them." Noah redirected the conversation.
All three of them went back to the ICU to see the kids.
After spending some time with Anna and Josh, MJ split with Emma and Noah to their own homes.
"It was good seeing MJ again," Emma said, keeping her hand close in Noah's grip.
"I can't believe you slapped her in the face and hugged her back," Noah commented.
"Yeah… I didn't think I had it in me." Emma had to admit. She's been a lot more assertive, "Could be just my maternal instincts kicking in."
"That's good to know." Noah added.
"When we get home, I don't want to worry about anything. I just want you and a bottle of whiskey and have no worries for the rest of the night." Emma leaned in closer to Noah.
"I could really use that too." Noah added.
Returning to their apartment, Emma went to find the whiskey but found it empty.
"Darn it." Emma pouted.
"Don't worry, given the situation, I think we need the good stuff." Noah pulled out an old bottle that was collecting dust in the back of their pantry.
"Thirty-year-old Scotch, from Scotland itself my father said he got this when he was studying abroad," Noah explained.
"Oh yes." Emma was all for it.
Going up to the out to the terrace wasn't much of a view, but the view is not what they wanted. Opening the old whiskey and a several shots so far, they were out on the floor with only eachothers company for warmth.
"I can't believe when my mom at our reception, bribed us with all of her good china just to have us stop drinking all of the wine." Emma laughed.
"Oh please that's nothing compared to the mess with our cake." Noah mentioned that moment.
"Yeah let's not go there." Emma stopped there instantly.
The still air, with car horns at the bottom left a certain aura around them. They didn't feel burdened or sad, just downright drunk (Not Noah, much).
"It's funny how quickly things can fall apart," Noah muttered while taking his current shot.
"Like Fisk getting arrested?" Emma hiccuped.
"No… Then again…" Noah shook himself out of that idea, "No, Emma I mean life in general. A perfect day, a perfect time, a perfect life… All it take is one bad moment to have all of it crumble." Noah slurred in his drink.
Emma let out a sigh. "Agreed."
"Are we gonna fall apart?" Noah asked.
Noah held Emma closer around his arm, she could hear her heartbeat. It was a song that put her at ease even in her heavily drunk state, "If we do… One way or another, we'll find our way back to each other." Emma told her husband, "Whatever it is you're doing if it saves our kids… I'll always love you. I love you Noah." Emma nestled closer in his warmth
"I love you too Emma." Noah leaned down to kiss her on her head.
I hope everyone enjoyed chapter 7 of Arachnid please leave a review and tell me what you think.
