Olympus Safe Zone
"Haaaaah!!!" Lydia charged forth with spear in hand at the monstrous Chimera. The creature far bigger then the others she'd face opened it's giant mouth spewing firing on the ground burning the area. "Damn!" She said jumping just in the nick of time though could feel the heat it produced.
Nows my chance while it's distracting, Azazel thought as he rushed forward with a sword in hand. He'd coated it in holy lightning to give it that extra edge in strength. The snake like tail saw this and struck at him with fangs ready to sink into his flesh. "Your definitely the eyes in this fight aren't ya?" He said dodging in mid air but still managed to get a hit in on its scales that left only a small scratch. Yet to his utter surprise the goat head wasn't just sitting by doing nothing, letting out a goat sound but more demonic in nature it spit out fire balls at the leader of Grigory. "Oh come on you too!?" He blocked with his wings yet still could feel how hot they were leaving smoke behind.
"Surround it men! Do not let it get an inch into the compound!" One Spartan called out with others taking their spears and throwing them one by one. Even though they knew it's skin was near on impenetrable the best thing to do was to harass the beast from all sides.
"You know I hope you got a good strategy here because we can't keep this thing at bay forever." Azazel said landing next to Lydia.
"It will no the wrath of the spartans one way or another," She twirled her spear trying to think of anyway to kill the Chimera. A frontal attack was out of the question especially from the fire it breathed, the goat head was like the lookout always watching the blind spots, and the serpent had was the same but had reach to close the distance. "If we cannot harm the beast skin then...on the inside!"
That got the leader of the grigory to raise an eyebrow at this supposed idea. "It's insides, like through the mouth?"
"Those lines on it's body seem to have helped it absorb your holy lightning." Her comment had a bit a blow to Azazel's ego but he didn't show it. "But on the inside maybe, just maybe, it's vulnerable there."
"I like the idea but pretty sure Mr. Big bad three head grumpy isn't just going to let something fly in his mouth," Azazel scratched his head thinking until noticing Lydia was looking at him, then it finally clicked. "Wait you want me to..."
"It's the only way." She points her spear at the fallen angel. "Your power was strong enough to give it this much strength. If I'm right consuming that much will likely make it overload and explode."
"There's no telling how big the explosion will be if that happens. Doing it here could damage the citizens inside," Azazel retorts.
"Then we're going to lure it outside, no time to stand around looking pretty let's do our duty," Lydia shouts and charges at the Chimera before he can say something about that comment.
Getting the beast attention it breathes fire down at the Spartan. Lydia changes direction away from the blast sliding underneath it's stomach jabbing at it. This only causes it to grow agitated constantly moving around trying to claw at her. It seemed like a good strategy to have it move out of the safety zone but the snake tail uses it's reach to move underneath lunging at her.
"Oh no you don't!" Azazel flies forward slashing his sword at it. This was enough to get it's attention hissing and trying to bite him. "That's right follow the leader."
He flies around harassing both the snake tail and the goat head. Lydia notices what he's trying to do smirking. The Chimera's lion like head turns it's attention to the fallen angel ready to breathe fire. What the Spartan does next amazes the others for both her bravery and dangerous actions. She jumps up pulling in the mane ro climb to the head, that tug despite it's size was enough to catch the heads attention roaring in annoyance and shaking violently.
"Men me and grigory leader will lead this beast outside, once that happens shore up the barricade. Do not let anything get inside!" She yelled holding on tightly for dear life.
"Ma'am yes Ma'am!" The Spartans yelled out in unison.
"Azazel!"
"On it!"
With one fell swoop he pulled his sword back just in front of the chimera away from his other two opponents. Slashing directly at it's eyes it roared out in pain thrashing around with one eye open. "Come and get me!" He began to flie out of the safety zone and that was enough to get it to chase after him, all the while Lydia still remained on top of it's head still holding. The Spartans, as soon as they saw them leave, immediately pulled wood, carts, concrete, anything that was laying around to block the entrance and stand by ready to fight off anything that would dare to come their way.
As Azazel kept flying the chimera kept getting closer and closer. Every building that came into contact with it broke into pieces like they were nothing.
"Now would be a good time as any Lydia!" He called out looking back with with droplets of sweat running down his brow.
"This spot shall do!" The Spartan pulled up her spear ready to jab the other eye but eas stopped from the snake hissing behind her ready to sink it's fangs in it's prey. "Damn!" Lydia just in thr nick of time stopped it with her spear watching it bite down.
The snake pulled up along with her shaking around. Azazel saw this and flied in to help, his sword reeled back to slice the tail but the chimera's reared up on both legs swatting it's paws at him. Just in the nick of time be blocked with his sword but the strength behind such a mythological beast had absorbed massive amounts of his power had the strength to swat the fallen angel back so hard he crashed into a building causing the entire structure to collapse.
"Ugh, I'll be... feeling that in the morning..." He slowly got up pushing debris off himself. Assuming I survive this fight
Lydia knew she couldn't be stuck forever without a weapon, she'd be damned about that. "You.Will.Let.Go!" Doing something she never thought she'd do with her fist the spartan reeled it back and, with as much strength as she could, punched the snake right on it's eyes causing it to hiss out finally letting go of the spear. Lydia smirked sliding down onto the ground to get a few distance away. Noticing Azazel getting up from the rubble she called out, "Can you still fight?"
"Yeah," He grunted rubbing his arm. "Better get this plan done fast I'm not gonna be able to take this kinda beating all day."
She nodded understanding this was a fight that didn't need to be prolonged any longer, the beast needed to be put down fast or else every spartan and civilian would be in danger.
The Chimera finally getting a grip on it's self looked with one eye at both of them growling so loud they could feel the vibrations in the air. Finally it charged but breathed fire at the same time.
"I'll keep it focused on me, you just distract the goat and the snake," Lydia said before Azazel could say anything.
Head strong woman she is
Azazel flew overhead towards the two, the snake with reach tried to bite him. The goat spit out fire balls as well in a duo attack. Using his ability to fly against one that cannot he dodged around them both slashing at the tail to keep it on him, just behind the main head.
All the while Lydia dashed around the fire, her clothes catching some fire but shrugged it off. With her size it wasn't too hard to skirt under it's body once again. It moved around lowering it's head to see where she would move and used the giant paws to claw at the Spartan. Finally seeing just a small opening grabbing the mane once again but this time under the beast chin.
Agitated again it shook it's head violently against building after building to shake her off. Debris scratched Lydia's skin over and over leaving marks on both arms and legs.
"You won't get rid of me that easily beast!" She yelled out moving inch by inch towards it's mouth. "Azazel on my mark you will fire your most powerful holy lightning at my spear!"
He looked on stunned, she might become engulfed in the blast possibly getting killed. And yet he remembers she's a Spartan and Spartans sacrifice their lives for their empire, not doing this would be a complete dishonor to this brave woman. "On your orders Ma'am!" He yelled out while keeping the other heads occupied on him.
Lydia finally got towards the mouth, the stench from it's breath was awful as if it'd eaten raw fish for it's whole life. Holding her breathe she realed back her spear just enough for the Chimera to get it's attention from it's only eye. Opening it's mouth it tried to bite down on her with those sharp teeth nearly getting a bite off the spartan.
"Your rampage ends here and now beast!"
Those last words were what Lyria yelled out before doing as quickly as she could plunged the spear directly into the maw of lions head, right down into it's throat. "Now Azazel!" The Spartan yelled out to which the fallen angel leader happily obliged. With as much power as he could muster he shot the holy lightning of his people right at inside the mouth where the spear laid in. Lydia had only moments to spare jumping off the beast mane and watched as the lightning hit mark or it's target. The chimera roared out in pain, the lines on its body began to shine brightly as if doing what it had done before yet this time was different. All of them began to flicker on and off, the creatures body twitched violently as sparks of electricity erupted all around it's body.
"He's gonna blow!" Azazel yelled out feeling the energy expanding more and more. Without thinking he grabbed Lydia and flied off as fast as he could.
The chimera that seemed to have been invincible collapsed onto the ground, all the eyes from the lions head, goats head, and to the snakes tail went black. It seemed as if that was it but a few seconds later it's whole body lit up a bright white light, the chimera overloading with so much power blew up. The explosion was large and the gust of wind from all the power was enough to off balance azazels flight causing him and Lydia to crash into the ground. Knowing they couldn't outrun that kinda power both hunkered down under some rubble as the shockwave came there way blowing away many buildings and other monsters in the process.
Olympus Hospital
The whole building began to rumble, every nurse and doctor scrambled to hold onto something or go under a table from the parts of the ceiling falling. Even Arakiel had to grab something to keep from falling over, "What is going on! Is there an earthquake!?"
The head doctor couldn't couldn't even explain this, unbeknownst to everyone inside that a chimera that looked to modified was finally felled. His attention was set on Alexios. Finally the shockwave hit the entire building, it was lucky enough to be far away the explosion yet still the aftereffects were enough to shake the building violently.
That was not only worrying thing, out of the side of Arakiel's eye he noticed Alexios was glowing, the monitors showing his heart beat was slowing down.
"His heart rate is dropping!" The head doctor yelled out.
Thinking fast Arakiel got off the floor and raced towards the unconscious man. The beating of his heart was dropping fast, he was not about to let his leader Azazel or Baraquiel down.
"Please let this work!" The fallen angel said sparking holy lightning in his hands he did what you'd expect a doctor to do when trying to keep the heart beating. With both hands he placed then on Alexios's chest and sparked it over and over. The anxiety of hoping this worked felt like it went on forever, beads of sweat dripped down their brows, holding their breathes in silence.
Finally after a few seconds the heartbeat on the monitor went back to a steady pace. Everyone in the room could breathe a sigh or relief, for Arakiel he felt like he could use a drink after that.
"I would never had guessed holy lightning could be used for medical reasons, that sheds it in a new light," The lead doctor said wiping his favorite cloth on his forehead.
"Given the fact I'm a fallen angel I wasn't entirely sure it'd work but I'm glad." Arakiel smiled until looking down at Alexios, his sights set on his forehead. "What the?"
Both men looked at a glowing light on the unconscious man's forehead, even though the heart was beating normally again they couldn't nut be concerned what this was especially for the doctor who had been taking care of the patient after the vault incident.
"What in Tartarus name...," He was completely baffled not sure if the glow was normal or a threat.
Arakiel was tempted to see if the holy lightning could do something about it but the risk was too great not knowing what would happen if you poke something you don't understand. "Doctor what is this?"
"I truly cannot say but if what we're saying is correct then this must be what is keeping Alexios from awakening." The doctor scratched his chin thinking this had to be the case. Whether it was the holy lightning or not he could not say.
"Can we do anything about this? It may help him finally awake." The fallen angel suggested.
"Again I cannot say, for now we must keep watching and we will still need your protection Arakiel."
Without a word he nodded in agreement, this was what he was sent to do keep him alive and safe.
Adonis Bunker
Elais was dead locked against the hellhound constantly moving between shelves to avoid it's claws and teeth, jaws that were strong enough to bite off large pieces of wood.
Cora stayed near Adonis putting pressure on the bite wound so no more blood would leak out. Her worries for both her childhood friend and the bartender showed. Yet what took her by surprise wasn't just from Elais mother secretly handing her son a sword but with how he was fighting. He was of course not match for an experience Spartan such as his mother but he at least had some the basic ways of fighting down.
When could Elais fight like this? I don't remember him ever being trained by anyone. Unless...he was doing it in secret?
Elais was huffing and puffing trying to catch his breathe, as much as the young man wanted to swing the blade with enough force to mortally wound the hellhound to much items were in the way. Learning from talks with his mother that fighting in a less open area you risked hitting something and lose momentum in your swings, that could leave you open and possibly killed.
"You'd think this thing would tire out already, mu mistake for assuming," Elais gritted his teeth from the lingering pain on his leg where it had slashed at him. "Still, I'm not going down here, I can't do that to mom, Leon, and Cora."
The hellhound barked before lunging at Elais, he was backed up against a shelf yet seeing open space, from both left and right side, spun out of the way. From the heads bashing against it multiple alcohol bottles fell off the shelves rolling around on the ground, one even rolled up to Cora.
"Rubbing alcohol?" She said before grabbing it, some ideas formed in her head.
Elais swung the sword down onto his attacker hoping he'd get a good slash in. Yet one head saw ot coming, biting down on the sword. "Let go dammit!" He tried to pull it out of its mouth but the hellhound wasn't about to let go anytime soon.
The scene looked like a tug of war between both except the young man had to constantly keep out of reach from the other heads. One managed to get a bite out of the toga causing him to nearly fall over were it not foe bumping into another shelf thay knocked ouver more bottles, some even breaking from hitting the ground.
I don't know much more beating I can take, I gotta get at least a good hit in that'll outright kill this bastard!
In a heart stopping moment the liquid on the ground caused Elais to slip on the ground yet he didn't let go of the sword. The hellhound however did not let go as well and pinned him to the ground with it's weight. He would've been bitten had he not taken the opportunity to turn the blade jut enough for the middle head to bite down on it. The free head however moved in to attack. All the childhood friend could do was use his arm to put it under the chin just enough to keep it away.
Adonis looked on in horror, he tried to get up yet the bruises didn't allow it. Cursing under his breathe not being able to help Lydia's child despite the fact he was no fighter. "Dammit...have to...do something!"
"Don't hurt yourself any more then you are Adonis." She stood up with the bottle in hand, Adonis tried to stop the girl from doing anything rash but there wasn't he could do. "Get the hell off my friend!" Cora yelled at the creature.
"Cora what are doing!?" Elais furrowed his brow at his childhood friend.
The Hellhound looked at her just for a moment but that was all that it needed. The very same glass Cora held tightly was thrown at the middle head, shattering on impact splashing the rubbing alcohol all over it's eyes. The burning sensation was enough to cause the creature to yelp out from the irritation pain on the eyes, just enough to finally let go of the sword.
This was the opportunity Elais needed, the opening Cora gave him would not be wasted. Taking the sword in both hands he cried out like a Spartan would and plunged it right through the hellhound's chest. The tip end poking out from the back it yelped out from the sudden sharp pain that wouldn't last for long, it had stabbed right through it's heart killing it instantly.
"Huff...huff...it's...over..," Elais with what strength he had left pushed the dead beast onto the sword not bothering to pull out the weapon.
"Elais!" Cora ran over to his side setting Elais up against a shelf. "You crazy fool you could've been killed! If that happened we...I'd...,"
"Heh, thanks Cora. And...sorry for worrying you like that. I promise you can kick my ass when this is all ov..."
Elais didn't finish that sentence as the bunker began to shake like there was an earthquake. Cora taken by surprise grabbed onto him yet still both fell to the ground, her being on top of him this time. When it finally passed Cora looked around seeing if it was finally over.
"You okay Cora?" Elais asked concerned.
"I'm fine, it's you that needs to be worried with all these cuts you have." She said with a stern but worried expression.
"I know we just avoided death but you two should wait until we're safe for that kind of thing," Adonis chuckled looking at the sight.
It was only until he pointed it out Cora realized the position she and Elais were in. Her face flushed red quickly got up looking away and crossed both arms. "I was simply making sure he was okay, don't go and make jokes like that!"
Elais would chuckle at the joke but he knew all to well what an angry Cora could do and simply kept his words to himself.
Asgard
The landscape around the main gate looked like war zone, in many ways it was one especially with Thrud currently fighting off the bear like construct. Constantly ducking from it's giant paws to parrying with her axe this thing was far more stronger then the others.
"Your giving me more problems then I thought," She grinned twirling the axe on one hand. "Good, it'll make beating you all the more rewarding."
She lunged forward face to face with it and with a mighty swing to what looked to be it cheek caused the construct to stagger a bit. It was not enough to put down completely as it quickly with the back of it's paw swiped away the goddess.
"Ugh," Thrud caught her footing even when scurting back nearly against a building. "That thing hits almost just as hard as father during training session." The goddess realized more and more this thing was created to be more powerful then the other constructs as if the small ones were nothing but cannon fodder.
The time to move was now because the construct on all fours was charging at her with great speed. The goddess cursed under her breathe jumping out of the way, she watched it stamped through multiple buildings like they were simple objects that got in the way. Taking this opportunity she charged herself behind it hoping to hit it's blind spot.
"Let's see how you like an axe at the back of your...crap!"
Her plan failed from seeing the bear construct swatting large numbers of debris at her. No other choice but to use the axe to break through every last one Thrud did so with gritted teeth. Upon the last one to be smashed to pieces her eyes went wide from the sight of the bear right in front of her except this time instead of using it's paws it's head would be that hit her. She only seconds to spare to block with both arms yet the force behind the headbutt cause both arms to go a but numb. Thrud fell towards the ground having to roll in a ball for less damage to be taken.
She slowly got to her feet moving her strawberry blonde hair out of the way to see. This things different, it fights smarter then the rest of those things. No doubt Einar had something to do with it.
The Bear construct roared out but with a more metallic like voice, even it's eyes glowed a bright red setting it's sights on the thunder goddess ready to continue the fight to the death. Yet there seemed to something else going on, sparks of electricity zapped all around it's body as it shook it's head as if in pain.
Thrud got to her feet noticing the sudden quick pause of her opponent, thinking her eyes were playing tricks on her thinking the beat smashing to things caused that made her grip the axe tighter yet allowed a smile to form across her face. "Mother will kill me for doing this but that can wait until the danger has passed." She raised her family axe over head and began to twirling it around in circles. The sound of thunder began to echo in the sky, sparks of electricity cracked as well, she was planning to use her families signature lightning to possibly turn the tide of this battle. "Hope your ready to feel the wrath of our families lightning," She said before the power of her family came crashing down onto her axe and coursed all over the goddesses entire body.
Wasting no more words Thrud charged at it, the force and speed was enough to crack open the ground she stood on. The bear did the same, it was almost as if two frait trains were about to collide into one another and once it happened the force would be enough to blow almost everything away.
Both inched closer and closer towards one another, debris kicked off from behind the two. It seemed as of the collision would happen but something else got in the way.
"Huh!?" Thrud said noticing the sparks from the constructs body spark again.
The thing paused in mid charging unable to come to hault. Thrud couldn't let an opportunity like this go to waste as with a mighty yell that'd make her father proud thrusted the family axe forward right hitting the construct on the head so hard sparks of electricity erupted violently. Both were blown back in the explosion, thrud crashing into rubble while her opponent fell hard on its back breaking the ground underneath.
"Ugh...," She slowly pulled herself from the rubble. Like before with her sparring match against Leon her arms were bruised and nearly charred. "I'm really gonna feel this in the morning...huh?" Looking around she noticed something strange and that was the other constructs nearby looked as if they were malfunctioning, their bodies twitched and sparked almost uncontrollably, some even fell to the ground breaking apart. "Did...did I do that?"
Thruds confusion was cut short as the bear slowly got towards it's feet. Battle damaged all around it's body yet had enough strength left to rise again and growl at the thunder goddess.
"You just...don't know when to quit huh? Well that's fine by me," Stubbornly through the pain she got to her feet as well holding her axe. If rossweisse or her mother saw her condition right now they'd be demanding she not push herself anymore.
The bear started slowly but gradually picked up speed charging once more yet the goddess didn't move from her spot, she welcomed the challenge to show she can hold her own no matter what. Just before the collision could happen something she did not expect to ever see in her life came crashing through what remained of the broken gates to Asgard and violent pushed any construct out of it's way. A large creature, the alpha Hydra, slammed right into the bear construct catching it in it's might jaws as if catching an unsuspecting prey by surprise. Yet it was not alone as five figures stood on each head.
"What in the name of Hel!?!?"
Underground Cavern
Leon, by himself at the moment, looked up towards this hooded robbed woman he'd never seen before, no idea if she was here all this time or just got here. Though far away he could make out some of this mysterious persons facial features. The hair that poked out from her hood was blood red colored, her pupils were purple, and the one thing that looked almost like eyeliner was etched acrossed the left eye. This woman had a blank expression when looking down at him, it was as if whay was going on didn't faze her on the slightest.
"I'm sorry but have we met before? You said your disappointed in me but why?" Leon asked with a raised eyebrow yet cautious at the same time.
The look in her eyes despite having no emotion had an intimidating feel. "A question you should know already boy." Her voice sounding calm yet condescending at the same time as if she were talking to a child who should know the answer despite his or her age. "Your mental capacity so far should have allowed you to stay calm even in the toughest of situations, and yet you pace back and forth panicking."
Leon wanted to say how else should he react from the thought drowning to death. That's what would have happened had another thought crossed his mind, how does this woman know how he thinks?
"You say your disappointed because I didn't think about other options that could turn in my favor?"
"So your brain still works in that head of yours, good to know," She said while beginning to lean forward. "Oh how so far it's gotten you out of deaths ever lingering grip."
Those words sent chills down Leon's, he knew he'd already died and been resurrected by Hera. "You talk like you know me, or at least have been watching me, but I don't ever remember seeing you around."
"You were not meant to see me, even now but these circumstances have proven intervention was needed, at least for now." Her eyes then drifted towards the corner of the cavern still emotionless. "Count your Asgardian gods lucky for the moment."
Leon puzzled looked over to where she was and noticed lying on the ground were both Magni and Modi. The very two gods they'd been tasked to look for were right.
Magni and Modi! But when? I don't ever remember seeing them just lying there when we got here
"That week willed priest had some form of intelligence," Her saying how smart Freed that mad priest caught Leon's attention. "Using concealment magic from those mages to hide your targets in plain sight where you wouldn't think to look. But that's as far as it'll go with those lot."
The thought of calling that mad priest who took sadistic pleasure in seeing others suffer just disgusted Leon. Still at the moment that wasn't important as he found them both with this mysterious woman's help no doubt. But there was still the lingering worry of how to get out of this soon the be flooded cavern.
"Listen Ma'am," Him calling out to the robbed woman made those emotionless eyes turn his way and still had that intimidating feeling. "I appreciate you stopping the water from falling but we need your help getting out of here, Einar..."
His words were cut off as she spoke over him. "We? Last I checked my decision was to keep yourself from drowning, the rest do not matter to me."
Leon couldn't help but narrow his brow at that remark regarding everyone else as people that can just be thrown away like that. "I mean no disrespect Ma'am but Bennia, Rossweisse, and Phyra are my friends. Magni and modi have family waiting back at home you can't just .."
"Oh, your making demands on the woman who saved your sorry hide?" Her voice got a little louder and somewhat had a cold tone to it as if she was deeply offended.
"Huh? N...No I didn't mean to offend I just..." Beads of sweat dropped from his brow, he could feel the tense atmosphere around her.
"Perhaps it was best I just let you drown along with your friends, let both theirs and your worlds fall to ruins and ashes."
Quickly Leon bowed his head to make some form of an apology to his savior. "I apologize. I didn't mean to offend you in any way Ma'am especially after saving me from drowning."
"I do sense the word 'But' about to escape from your mouth child," She leaned forward a little from her rocky seat.
There was no denying that Leon still had more to say even after apologizing. "But I can't just leave them here even if I was the sole reason for your rescue. To leave them to a fate like this is just cruel." He spoke without wavering in his speech. "So I can't, no, I won't just leave them!"
Silence that felt like an eternity between made Leon's heart beat a bit faster, until finally for the the robbed woman spoke. "Bold of you to speak that way, though I suppose it's what saved your life along with the power inside of you."
Just for a split second Leon could've sworn she jusy smirked for a split second, he would've said something about it but chose not to press his luck anymore then he already had done.
"Consider yourself lucky, Leon Alexander, weilder of the sacred gear blades and host to his spirit." She stood up tall while looking down at him. "Your allies shall be spared, and you'll live to fight another day. Do hope I do not have to save you again child. Just because I find interest in you does not mean I am to be your caretaker."
With those final word she held out one hand over her head, the single ring on her finger began to shine before she snapped her fingers. The bifrost that had not worked when rossweisse had tried to summon appeared over head far larger then what it was supposed to be.
Like a vacuum everyone in the cavern, except for the robbed woman, was lifted up and sucked into the bifrost. Even the alpha Hydra that had been seemed to be frozen in time like the others was lifted up as well. The Last thing Leon saw was the woman just staring at him with a look that could be read as 'Don't disappoint me' which he took to heart.
Outside the walls of Asgard
The horde of constructs kept coming and coming across the bridge, both Menja and Fenja rotating grótti against there will from the symbol controlling the body.
"Fenja...," the frost Jotunn said from being nearly exhausted going in circles over and over again. "I'm sorry, sorry I couldn't be the big sister to protect you from this..."
Fenja gritted her teeth at those words, shaking her head just replying back "Don't say that Menja! None of this is your fault, I chose stick with you back when we forced to use grótti and I don't plan to leave your side now. I knew the risk so I don't be sorry, we'll find some way out of this."
The frost giant could only chuckle at her words, sne still felt bad but complaining about it did no good. "That Asgardian," she said while looking at the giant hole in the sky where the gods were trying to keep both the elements of helheim and musphelhiem from pouring out. "He's so eager to see Odin fall that he'll destroy this entire realm."
"And he doesn't care who he hurts in the process while trying to achieve that goal. When we get out of this binding we'll...huh?"
Before she could say what she'd do to Einar her and Menja's attention were at the sky from above them. A large bifrost opened just above them, the thing that made both Jotunn women's eyes nearly bulge out of their eye sockets was the massive alpha hydra falling just about right on top of the two.
"Dammit I... can't...move out of the way!" Fenja try as she might just like her sister were still in grips of the body controlling Einar had put on.
"Brace yourself sister!" Menja closed eyes preparing for the worst.
Whether by luck or not the hydra's full body managed to not land on the women. But the main head itself slammed right down onto grótti. The force of it's weight caused the weapon to crack, magic bursting out in a flash caused both Jotunn to be pushed back. The constructs nearby, far away, and above began to spasm, some fell to the ground while others sparked electricity barely moving.
"What's going on!?" Said rossweisse who seemed to have just awakened and now found herself falling from the sky.
"How should I know!" Bennia yelled out just as equally confused.
"Everyone better brace yourselves!" Leon was just under them as he fell from the sky coming out of the bifrost.
He thought fast unleashing his shield to cushion the fall as best he can. He was lucky to land on the hydra despite how hard it's scales were. He wasn't so lucky with both the Valkyrie and reaper landing on his back nearly knocking the wind out of his lungs.
Leon are you okay!? Phyra called out in his mind worried.
I'm fine Phyra, though that'll definitely hurt in the morning Leon rubbed his back.
"Ugh...," Rossweisse slowly got up rubbing the back of her head. "Where are we? Is this..."
"It's Asgard!" Bennia finished her sentence gleaming with joy. "We're back on Asgard! For a second I thought we were gonna die back there."
"Still how did we get here...the bifrost!" The Valkyrie pointed up to the bifrost just before it closed completely. "Did I do that? But I don't remember..." Suddenly a loud thud came from behind the Valkyrie startling her. As she turned she could only open her eyes wide. "Magni! Modi!" She yelled seeing the two brothers lying on the ground. Rushing over she checked to see if theu were alive and breathed a sigh of relief from feeling their pulses. "There still alive thank goodness."
"That's good but I'm still very confused here," Bennia rubbed the back of her head trying to remember.
"I'll explain later," Leon said before looking around noticing all the constructs. He almost readied his sacred gear until noticing Menja and Fenja laying on the ground. "Fenja, Menja!" He ran over to Fenja checking to see if she was okay.
The red headed Jotunn slowly opened her eyes, to her shock seeing the person Einar had betrayed. "Wait, aren't you that soldier that was left behind by Einar?"
"Yeah. And we're back and not about let him get away with this," Offering a hand he helped Fenja up off the ground. "My names Leon, those two are Bennia and Rossweisse."
Both girls helped Menja to her feet relieved she was still alive. "Looks like we owe you thanks for freeing us. I have a lot of questions but there's a bigger threat we need to deal with."
She pointed to the portal in the sky shocking all three, both Jotunn led them up to speed of what's happened before arriving, the situation more dire then they could've imagined.
Leon gripped his fist tightly "All this for one god, why, just why?"
"Uuuuh better ask that question later cause we've got company." Bennia pointed to the constructs that could still function starting to look at all five and began approaching.
"At this rate we'll never be able to get there in time," Leon looked around trying to find an opening, he wasn't about to let Einar kill innocent people especially on a day that was meant to build friendship between two realms.
Rossweisse was exhausted from the last fight not having a lot of magic left. Bennia as well still sore around where Einar had struck her. Both Menja and Fenja stood back to back with only there fist as a means for offense. It seemed like they'd be stuck here fighting a horde of these creations until the ground began to shake. The Alpha Hydra seemed to be the last one to wake up, with the symbol on it gone, groggy but at the same time agitated.
"Oh you've gotta be kidding me!" Bennia prepared for what looked to be a round two.
Everyone got on guard but the Hydra wasn't fixated on them or the approaching constructs. Instead it sniffed the air and growled, every single head looked at the city in Asgard hissing in unison. Wasting no time the body, even with the stalagmite stuck in it's lower body, began to charge forward. Every single construct creation in it's way was simply pushed to the side, even the flying ones were easily picked apart as if they were simply ants.
"Everyone grab on!" Leon said knowing this was there only shot at getting to Asgard as fast as possible.
Though hesitant at first the girls complied and all five jumped onto the back of the Hydra. Fenja and Mrnja being the biggest put magni and modi on their backs, each person getting on one neck holding on for dear life. The Alpha Hydra squirmed it's way through the bridge, every enemy in it's way either got crush or knocked over falling to their deaths. Finally after what seemed to be no more then thirty seconds the beast burst it's way through the gates and grabbed holed of a bear construct instantly crushing it inside it's mighty jaws.
"Okay I gotta admit that was pretty fun," Bennia joked yet still gripped on to it's scales as if the ride wasn't over.
"Thrud!" Rossweisse upon looking down noticed her childhood friend on the ground with both arms charred. Without hesitation she jumped down to her. "Your arms! You pushed yourself again didn't you?"
"Heh, nice to see your okay," Thrud would've rolled her eyes at the worrying but right now it was very much welcomed. "I'll recover rossweisse. The bigger question who are those two and why were you on that!?" She pointed to the hydra who finally snapped the bear construct in half, even she felt intimidated by it. But that was washed away at the sight of her brothers. "Magni! Modi!"
"They still live," Fenja reassured her before placing them on the ground.
Thrud looked as if she wanted to yell at the unconscious brothers for worrying the entire family but held, she was just glad they still lived. "How did this happen?"
"We can explain that later. We need to stop this attack."
"We'll stop him...woah!!!"
The hydra after finishing off it's prey looked forward again hissing, it's tail slamming on the ground ready to charge again.
"Go!" Thrud said. "I'll be fine, I need to make sure my brothers are safe."
Rossweisse wanted to say she should come with them it's too dangerous but her friend gave a look of reassurance it'll be okay. Understanding arguing was wasting time she held onto the hydra as it sped forward again.
Close by in the city
Hecuba with her two captives wrapped in ropes dragged them out into the street. One was still unconscious while the other tried breaking free but to no avail, the Spartans skill of tightening ropes to keep things in place was almost next to none.
"You'd be a lot more comfortable if you just told where your friends are, I wouldn't need to drag your sorry hide all over the place." Hecuba smirked at her captive trying to give him an easy option.
"I'm already captured, if my team finds me I'm dead. If you bring me to a cell I'll most definitely be tortured for information. Either way telling you anything will mean I'm screwed either way." The mage looked away even knowing he was defeated he wasn't about to give in so easily.
"Considering what you and your allies did no doubt there are going to be repercussions for your actions I can't change that." She got on a knee and looked him right in the eye. "But, should cooperate with the gods it could possibly get you a lighter sentence."
That remark got his attention a little bit but still he refused to look her way. Contemplating his only options he knew trying to fight back was pointless, especially against a heavily trained Spartan.
"If I were in your shoes I'd think about it. Better then...,"
The spartan was cut off from the ground shaking. She almost barely lost her footing, just in the nick of time leaning onto a house. The mage was just as confused as well not knowing if this may be his allies work. Suddenly debris started to rain down on them, Achillia had jumped out onto a building just right on top where hecuba stood.
"Achillia?"
"Hecuba get out of the way!"
With the heightened instincts the Spartan noticed something else busting through the building as well. The same four armed construct her childhood friend was fighting was pushing her back. Achillia looked battle damaged but her years of experience kept the killing blow away so far but that couldn't last long.
"This thing is definitely smarter then the rest," Achillia twirled her family spear ready for it to strike again.
"I don't doubt it from you." Thinking fast she shoved her captive into behind her. "You stay behind me."
"As if I've got a choice in the matter..." Though he said that he just as much wanted to get away from the fighting.
Both women stood side by side in a signature pose ready to counter attck. The construct stared them both down walking forward as if they posed no threat. Just before the two were about tlunge forward the alpha Hydra had bursted through multiple. Hecuba and Achillia could only look on in shock, the situation was already bad but a hydra coming into the picture just complicated things. Except the two were taken back as the beast attacked the construct, it's many heads wrapped around it in unison.
"What the!?" Achillia only had a few seconds of confusion until she spotted Leon and the others right on it's back. "Leon!"
"Bennia, rossweisse too!" Hecuba pointed out, both glad to see they were back.
"I never thought I'd ride on the back of literal Hydra today," Fenja smirked glad thid sort of creature wasn't against them.
"You and me both," Leon said before noticing the two Spartans below which gave him joy. "Achillia! Hecuba!" He called out.
He jumped down and the moment he did Achillia ran up and gave him a big hug as if she hadn't seen him in years, this of course made Leon blush in surprise but he hugged back.
"How are you still here? Einar said we wouldn't see you again?" She said while finally letting go.
"There's a lot to explain, in the meantime we need to reach Einar," He looked up to the the warrior right up to the portal.
"Don't suppose any of you know how to fly?" Menja asked looking at everyone, hecuba and achilia confused of who this woman but didn't question her, not at a time like this.
"I can but I doubt for much time. But I can launch at best three people up there." rossweisse gave her suggestion.
"Stopping him is one thing but we also need ro find the people who are keeping that portal open." Hecuba's words caused shock with everyone. "That man over there knows," she pointed to the mage.
"Then that's two problems we've got. We have to split up," Leon suggested.
"I'll stick down here." The young reaper floated next to hecuba. "If those guys are hiding around here I can use my portals to find them. Shouldn't be too hard to sense a large magical energy spot."
"I'll be down here as well." Rossweisse said.
"I'm going after Einar," Leon looked up with determination.
"So will I and Fenja, he needs to pay for what he's done to us." Menja cracked her knuckles.
"Then we all have goals, I'll stay here and assist however I can. Stay safe everyone," Achillia said with a smile to put in confidence.
With those final words the the Valkyrie summoned a green rune underneath their feet using as much magic as she could muster. Within seconds all three shot up into the air straight towards Einar. Don't let him win you three
The tides are beginning to turn for our heroes. Many monsters have fallen, Leon and the others have escaped near death and make their way to stop Einar and save all of Asgard. Though he'll eventually have to tell how he escaped the big question remains of who was that mysterious woman and why does she have interest in him? More to come in the next chapter.
