Sup guys? Lighting wolf here, back for another story, this one about My Hero Academia. Enjoy the 800-word chapter. I don't own MHA Shonen Jump, Kohei Horikoshi and a few others do.

"Ow…" He muttered to himself while he looked to the side. His skin shifted under his arm as he grunted.

The boy slowly shifted to the ground while he sighed and looked to the ground. His arm spasmed in obvious pain as the artificial skin covering his limb slowly tore.

He knew he was a freak and looked like one… But he didn't want to let it affect it when it came down to it. He was far more curious about what he could give back to the world, however.

He sighed and slowly moved his arms while looking at the metallic skin hidden under his arms.

"Hikaru?" He heard which made him turn to the side as he slowly pushed himself to his feet.

He sighed, the artificial skin that he wore over his arms made him annoyed. Hikaru didn't like hiding his true nature, however. It made him sad that his quirk was so monstrous… Well, not in a way that destroyed things… Least unless he wanted to, but it did indeed make him angry more then anything that it was so hard to conceal.

It made him sigh with annoyance as he pushed himself up and towards the door. He was quite hopeful that today things didn't go bad. Hikaru blinked as he looked to the side out the window.

To most people? He'd be feeling cold… But with his quirk? He didn't feel the cold brush over his 'skin' as much as it should.

"Yeah, mom?" Hikaru questioned while he sighed and cracked his neck.

There was a metallic clang as his fingers each clicked back into place slowly. He grasped at his hand and sighed with annoyance and slowly walked out of the room. His mother turned to look at him while Hikaru rubbed at his hands.

"Your fretting over it again." His mother said while he hummed and continued to look over his own arms.

"Because nobody has a quirk that's… So noticeable…" Hikaru said and turned his hands over to look at them from the other side. "And even if they do? It's something they can control. You told me I've been… Different, since I was a baby." Hikaru said while turning to the door.

He had a habit of constantly fretting over the skin on his hands. Hikaru wanted to feel used to them, but it was a very alien thing to him. Even people who had body altering quirks still felt some small part of normalcy. He felt like an outcast because of it despite his mother's best efforts to try and make him feel some small hint of normality.

"Do you know what dad used to say all the time?" His mother asked as he hummed and nodded.

"Yes…" Hikaru said while he leaned on the doorway and rubbed at his temples. "That our flaws make us who we are… I just… Don't like being so weird looking when my quirk is used, mom." Hikaru said as he hummed.

Hikaru was far more offput by how casual his mother was about how things were. He was always fretting about if his body would break apart if his quirk continued to develop. His mother always seemed to smile more then he did when it came to his quirk.

Still? He hadn't exactly been curious about how powerful his quirk would be when it came down to it. His father… When the man was still around from what he heard? Was someone who cared a lot about results and such.

He had hoped the man didn't see his family as a science experiment. He sighed once more and looked at his mother who smiled at him.

"You worry a lot more then you should about your quirk, dear." Hikaru heard from his mother as he crossed his arms. "Your power makes you just as special as you think it is." Hikaru heard from his mother as he hummed.

"That doesn't exactly make things easier, mom." Hikaru said while he smiled with amusement.

He knew very well that his quirk was something he didn't approve of… But perhaps there was something that approved of it.

Little did he know that things would change when he entered school soon enough.
