~Chapter 2- Hadrian's New Wand~

Sirius stood by the door stunned. He didn't know what was going on. He slowly walked over to Remus and Hadrian. "H…how is this possible? We thought you were dead, Hadrian. Where have you been?" Sirius questioned as knelt down next to them. Hadrian lifted his head from Remus' shoulder and looked at Sirius. "I…I was at the Dursleys. I was H…Harry Potter." he explained to his parents. He stared at him wide-eyed. "You were under our noses the whole fucking time? You were taken from us and have been right with us the entire time!" Sirius growled.

Needless to say, Sirius was extremely pissed. Dumbledore had lied to them for years, telling them that Hadrian was kidnapped and killed. "Siri, please, you are scaring him." Remus held Hadrian close after 15 years of not knowing he was alive though whole time. Hadrian finally had the family he had longed for. He just didn't know they were with him the whole time. Sirius started to pace the room, growling. "Dumbledore is going to pay for this!" Remus stood up from where he was sitting with Hadrian and walked over to Sirius. "Sirius, what Dumbledore has done to us is unforgivable, but we have our cub back. That's what matters." Remus held onto Sirius' hand. He calmed down as Remus grabbed his hand.

"You're right, Remi. Our Hadrian has come back to us." Sirius smiled at Hadrian. He got up from the bed and walked over to his parents. "Moony, Pads…" Hadrian stopped what he was saying since he didn't know exactly what to call Sirius and Remus now. "Hadrian, you don't have to call us mom and dad if you don't want to. I know it's going to take some time for you to get used to the idea." Remus said, placing his hand on Hadrian's shoulder.

Hadrian looked up at Sirius and Remus smiling at them. Ragnok walked over to them. " -Black, it is time to discuss the matter of your vaults.", Ragnok said to Hadrian. He nodded his head at Ragnok. They all headed back to Ragnok's office. "I want everything that was taken from with interest.", Hadrian said with venom in his voice. Ragnok smiled and responded, "Absolutely, -Black." Sirius smiled at his son and ruffled his hair. "Also, I would like to withdraw from one of my vaults.", Hadrian said, since he wanted to get some new clothes, a new wand, and things.

"Of course, -Black. Would you like a pouch that refills with the amount you need, or would you like our gold card that works both in the wizarding world and the muggle world?" Ragnok asked. Hadrian thought for a minute before replying, "Can I get the gold card, please? It would make things easier." Ragnok nodded and activated the card for Hadrian. He handed it to him. "Thank you, Ragnok." Hadrian smiled at the goblin. Ragnok bowed his head in reply.

"Come on, Hads. Let's go get you some new clothes and a new wand." Remus said, standing up from his chair. Hadrian stood up next to his mother, followed by Sirius. "Okay, Moony." Hadrian smiled at Remus and Sirius as they walked out of Gringots. They walk back out into Diagon Alley. They decide to get everything Hadrian needs for the upcoming year at Hogwarts. Their next stop was Ollivander's for a new wand for Hadrian. His current wand didn't feel right to him anymore since he was now at his full magical potential.

Hadrian enters Ollivander's with Remus and Sirius. Ollivander comes out to greet them. "Ah… . I mean, -Black, in need of a new wand, I see." Ollivander said as he saw Hadrian. He was shocked that Ollivander recognized him for how he looked now. "H…how did you know?" Hadrian questioned the old wand maker. Ollivander chuckled and responded, "I remember every Hogwarts student that has come into my shop." Ollivander led Hadrian to the back of the shop since none of the wands that were pre-made weren't strong enough to handle his magic. The wand maker lays out multiple kinds of wood that can be used to make a wand. "Just hover your hand over the wood to see which has the strongest pull.", Ollivander said, motioning for Hadrian to step up to the table with the wood.

Hadrian hovered his hand over the wood on the table. He felt a pull from three types of wood on the table. The pulls were coming from the acacia, blackthorn, and elder woods. Ollivander was surprised to see this. "Those are very strong woods for a single wand. Sometimes those woods don't work well together. The Acacia wood is known as a very unusual wand wood, which I have found creates tricky wands that often refuse to produce magic for any but their owner and also withhold their best effects from all but those most gifted. This sensitivity renders them difficult to place. I keep only a small stock for those witches or wizards of sufficient subtlety, for acacia is not suited to what is commonly known as 'bangs-and-smells' magic. When well-matched, an acacia wand matches any for power, though it is often underrated due to the peculiarity of its temperament." the old wandmaker explained as he held up the piece of Acacia wood. "Now the Blackthorn wood. Blackthorn, which is a very unusual wand wood, has the reputation, in my view, well-merited, of being best suited to a warrior. This does not necessarily mean that its owner practices the Dark Arts (although it is undeniable that those who do so will enjoy the blackthorn wand's prodigious power); one finds blackthorn wands among the Aurors as well as among the denizens of Azkaban. It is a curious feature of the blackthorn bush, which sports wicked thorns, that it produces its sweetest berries after the hardest frosts and the wands made from this wood appear to need to pass through danger or hardship with their owners to become truly bonded. Given this condition, the blackthorn wand will become as loyal and faithful a servant as one could wish." Ollivander held up the Blackthorn piece setting it aside with the Acacia.

The wandmaker moved onto the last piece of wood that Hadrian felt a pull toward, which was the Elder wood. "Now, this piece of wood, the rarest wand wood of all and reputed to be deeply unlucky, the elder wand is trickier to master than any other. It contains powerful magic but scorns to remain with any owner who is not the superior of his or her company; it takes a remarkable wizard to keep the elder wand for any length of time. The old superstition, 'wand of elder, never prosper,' has its basis in this fear of the wand, but in fact, the superstition is baseless, and those foolish wandmakers who refuse to work with elder do so more because they doubt they will be able to sell their products than from fear of working with this wood. The truth is that only a highly unusual person will find their perfect match in elder, and on the rare occasion when such a pairing occurs, I take it as certain that the witch or wizard in question is marked out for a special destiny. An additional fact that I have unearthed during my long years of study is that the owners of elder wands almost always feel a powerful affinity with those chosen by Rowan." the wandmaker held up the Elder wood. He put it aside with the other two pieces. Ollivander put the other woods away and grabbed the cores.

"Now, -Black, I want you to do the same thing with the cores as you did with the wood. Hover your hand over them to see where you feel a pull." Hadrian nodded his head and hovered his hand over the cores. All three cores vibrated from Hadrian's magic. "Curious. Very curious." the old wandmaker looked at the young wizard. Hadrian looked back at his parents. "I'm sorry, but what is curious?" Hadrian questioned as he turned back to Ollivander. The wandmaker just smiled at Hadrian. "Well, you see, -Black, your magic has pulled all three cores along with three of the strongest woods used for wand making." Hadrian looked at Ollivander, confused. "What does that mean exactly?"

"That means you will have the most powerful wand in the magical community. Now, on to the explanation about the cores. We will start with the unicorn hair. Unicorn hair generally produces the most consistent magic and is least subject to fluctuations and blockages. Wands with unicorn cores are generally the most difficult to turn to the Dark Arts. They are the most faithful of all wands and usually remain strongly attached to their first owner, irrespective of whether he or she was an accomplished witch or wizard.

Minor disadvantages of unicorn hair are that they do not make the most powerful wands (although the wand wood may compensate) and that they are prone to melancholy if seriously mishandled, meaning that the hair may 'die' and need replacing." Ollivander held up the unicorn hair core. Hadrian looked at the core in curiosity. The old wand maker smiled softly at the young boy. He moved on to the next core.

"Now, as a rule, dragon heartstrings produce wands with the most power, and which are capable of the most flamboyant spells. Dragon wands tend to learn more quickly than other types. While they can change allegiance if won by their original master, they always bond strongly with the current owner. The dragon wand tends to be easiest to turn to the Dark Arts, though it will not incline that way of its own accord. It is also the most prone of the three cores to accidents, being somewhat temperamental." he held up the core showing it to Hadrian. Sirius and Remus stood by listening intently as well. They never knew the explanations of the woods and cores either. Hadrian found all of this interesting. He was interested in learning more about everything he missed out on.

Ollivander moved on to the final core, which was the phoenix feather. "This is the rarest core type. Phoenix feathers are capable of the greatest range of magic, though they may take longer than either unicorn or dragon cores to reveal this. They show the most initiative, sometimes acting of their own accord, a quality that many witches and wizards dislike. Phoenix feather wands are always the pickiest when it comes to potential owners, for the creature from which they are taken is one of the most independent and detached in the world. These wands are the hardest to tame and to personalize, and their allegiance is usually hard won." Hadrian examined the phoenix feather core. He handed the core to Ollivander. "How long until it will be ready?" Hadrian asked hopeful and excited for his new wand. The wand maker smiled kindly at the young teen. "It will be ready in two hours.", Ollivander replied. Hadrian smiled and thanked the wand maker.

With Sirius and Remus following behind him, Hadrian walked out of the wand maker's shop. Sirius put his hand on Hadrian's shoulder, "Where to now, Hads?" Hadrian looked up and down Diagon Alley trying to figure out where to go next. As he was thinking about it, he was hit with the most intoxicating scent. "Pads, do you smell that?" Hadrian sniffed around as the scent got closer.

Sirius looked at Hadrian curiously. "Smell what, Hadrian?" Sirius was confused until Remus nudged him in the ribs and mouthed 'mate' to him. Sirius nodded in understanding. "Why don't you follow the scent and see where it leads you." Hadrian looked at Sirius and Remus confused, but agreed. Hadrian followed the scent. It smelled like vanilla, mint, and hair gel. Hadrian kept following the scent until he bumped into someone. Someone with very familiar platinum blonde hair.
