The light! It burns! Dx

Oh hey there! Um.. didn't see you there haha. Ignore the little thing I did a second ago and do know that I am back from my weeklong break! It was a good break with a three day weekend in the end and if anything it was pretty calm and such, except with an anime convention that I went to on Saturday and out with the folks on Sunday and finishing off Monday with running up a mountain and flying down it afterwards, a total of 7 miles that day hehe. Other than that I didn't work on any stories during that time so it was total relaxation of the mind... besides what I do in work lol so it's less mental work I would say.

Alright so coming back I introduce something that isn't a Knuxikal work this time. It is a Sonamy since I haven't explored much into that ship hehe and I'm gonna do my best to provide more variety other than Knuckles and Tikal fluff everytime lol. Hope you enjoy! ^u^

Worth?

The vast grasslands of Green Hills shined brightly under the luminous rays of the sun above, the fresh breeze blowing throughout. Trees swayed with the wind and flowers bloomed in scattered patches, many small animals ranging from flickies to squirrels roaming around the land with curiosity. A large lake was located within the valley that held small islands with their own small forests, mysteries within waiting to be unraveled. If anything, Green Hills wasn't known much to the world with only a few knowing about it, but what it makes stick out to those select few however is that it is home to the world's greatest hero.

WHOOSH!

And fastest blue hedgehog alive.

"Alright that's 200 laps around the globe!" cheered the adventurous voice of one Sonic the Hedgehog as he sped through the vast grasslands going at Mach 1 and leaving a glowing blue trail behind. With courageous green eyes and a confident smirk that helped save the world many times, the Blue Blur completed his little workout that he started a while ago with a hint of sweat sheening on his tan muzzle. Long cobalt quills rustled behind his head as his feet moved back and forth at insane speeds that only showed a red arc indicating his trademark Power Sneakers. Some people assumed that it was the sneakers that gave him the power of superspeed, but very few are aware that Sonic was just as fast without them.

His signature speed is what made him famous throughout the land, using it to help others and defeat his foes while they least expected it. The blue hedgehog may be lacking in the strength department to which his crimson-colored echidna friend takes the honor, but he makes up for it with his quick reflexes and ability to go faster in order to confuse his enemies. Not only that but it's his strong heart and willingness to never give up that makes him stronger and for that he is admired by many.

Especially by his number one fan, who is waiting for him at home.

GROWL!

Sonic chuckled rubbing his stomach. "Oh man I'm starving! Can't wait to see what Ames got cooking!" the Blue Blur announced as he kicked it into high gear and left a trail of dust miles behind him.

Arriving within seconds at the front door of his small cottage home within the center of Green Hills. Sonic wasn't one to live in a city such as Station Square and if anything hated the noise and rambling that came out of it. He lives for the outdoors and wide-open space in which he wouldn't get that luxury within a metropolis as everything is too cramped. The blue hedgehog has peace among Green Hills and will continue to live in it just as he did for almost his entire life. Where he was born… well Sonic doesn't like to talk about it but what's important is what he is thinking in the present.

With a grin Sonic walked towards the door and took in the scent of a certain snack that he had always loved. His emerald eyes gazed at the cottage he lived in which isn't fancy or anything, the Blue Blur liking to live average like others. The fame and fortune he got from defeating world-ending threats didn't matter to him, only the adventure that came with it being his passion.

Turning the knob Sonic opened the door and walked in to smell the fresh scent of a home-cooked meal. "And just in time for Ames to make some chilidogs hehe." Sonic spoke walking past the living room and into the kitchen. His vision met a pink hedgehog with soft quills that ran down to her neck with a red dress, red boots and a red hairband. The blue hedgehog noted the white apron tied around her slim body as she kept her focus onto the sink.

Sonic raised an eyebrow on this: she was being eerily quiet.

'That's strange? Normally Amy would be humming a nice tune or something?' Sonic thought making his way towards her. Once he got close enough his senses felt something off. 'Woah, I feel… is she alright?'

"Ames?... you doing okay?" Sonic spoke softly moving his arms to embrace Amy from her waist.

SMACK!

Only to flinch upon feeling a sting on the side of his face, green eyes widening.

Amy looked towards him with one of her hands raised, her expression reflecting immense rage.

"WHERE IN CHAOS HAVE YOU BEEN?!" she yelled. This threw Sonic off.

"H-Huh? What are you talking about?" the male hedgehog replied.

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN WHAT AM I TALKING ABOUT?! I ALREADY TOLD YOU, YOU IDIOT!"

Sonic breathed out rubbing his slapped cheek. "I went out for a run this morning. I left a note."

"And do you have ANY idea what time it is now?!" Amy lowered her voice but kept the same intensity as she was still peeved.

Placing a hand under his chin Sonic searched through his mind to jog his memory. He's been through Spagonia, crossed Mazuri, navigated Empire City, and ran along Chun-nan from one end to the other before blasting across the ocean back to Green Hills. 200 times.

'Let's see I did 200 laps and went at half my usual limit so if it takes one million steps… ack I need Tails for this!'

Noticing Sonic still thinking Amy growled in annoyance. "I swear Sonic I can't believe you'd be so thick-headed!" she then quickly pointed towards the clock, anger still on her face. "IT'S ALREADY 3 O'CLOCK!"

"Oh." was all Sonic muttered.

He didn't take into account different time zones.

"Yes you left a note which is fine, but when noon came I tried to call you but you didn't call back! This is the twentieth time this month Sonic and I'm getting REALLY fed up with it!"

Sonic panicked a bit. "W-Woah hold on Ames don't get ahead of yourself."

Amy gritted her sharp teeth at him with crossed arms. "Don't get ahead of myself? YOU SHOULD BE THE ONE TO NOT GO AHEAD OF YOURSELF EVERY TIME YOU PROMISE SOMETHING THAT YOU CAN'T MEET!"

The Blue Blur started to get annoyed as well. "Well I did come back Amy! You have to realize that I do this every day!"

"It's not just that! Every time that we go out somewhere you have to act so childish! When we go to the mall with Tails and Cream or Knuckles and Tikal you always complain that you don't want to be there!" Amy argued.

"Well you know me I hate shopping!" Sonic countered.

"Yeah but it only lasts a day! IT WASN'T GONNA BE LIKE A WEEKLONG THING!

"WELL WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO DO?! I'M NOT MUCH OF A CITY PERSON YOU KNOW!"

"You can adapt Sonic! You always do that whenever you fight Eggman or some other threat and win like nothing, but when it comes to outings, especially when we're together, YOU ALWAYS ACT LIKE A BABY!" Amy remarked seething.

"I'M STILL NERVOUS ABOUT BEING TOGETHER! THIS IS MY FIRST RELATIONSHIP!" Sonic barked.

"IT'S MINE TOO YOU MORON!"

"AND THEN THERE'S THAT: EVER SINCE WE GOT TOGETHER AFTERWARDS YOU STARTED TO INSULT ME FOR EVEN MAKING SOME DUMB DECISIONS THAT WEREN'T INTENTIONAL!"

"WELL IF YOU DIDN'T ACT SO UNCIVILIZED I WOULDN'T HAVE TO CALL YOU IDIOT!" Amy loudly iterated.

"I CAN'T EVEN BELIEVE YOU'D STOOP THAT LOW AMY! LIKE, WHAT HAPPENED?! WHERE'S THE BUBBLY GIRL THAT I KNOW AND LOVE!"

"HAH YOU'RE LOOKING AT HER RIGHT NOW, EXCEPT SHE'S PISSED AT YOU!"

Sonic shook his head and rubbed his temple. "You know what, I'll ask you this." The blue hedgehog looked back up at Amy and sighed. "Do you even know the real me?"

Amy looked at him bewildered. "What kind of stupid question is that? Of course I know the real you!"

The Blue Blur chuckled softly. "Hehe, well got bad news for you Ames. The real me wouldn't want to do things that you try to FORCE ME into doing."

The rose-colored girl raised an eyebrow. "What are you talking about? I don't force you-!"

"Yeah, you do." A disappointed look appeared on Sonic's face. "When you came up with the idea of all of us going to the mall almost everyone else agreed to it, but did you ever consider what my answer was?"

"Look Sonic-."

"No, you didn't. You just went ahead and made plans while I got dragged into it without saying yes or no. I'm pretty sure you'd remember that." Sonic said.

Amy sighed, her anger slowly lowering. "Sonic that was only one time-."

"No it wasn't only one time, there were plenty of other times. I have to put up with it to see that smile on your face at the cost of my suffering. To think that we'd known each other for so many years that you'd really know the real me?"

The pink hedgehog's fury was diminishing, but she was still on the offensive. "Sonic I know the real you. You love to be free and go on adventures and I don't take that away from you, but when it comes to being with others-."

"You basically throw what you have in mind without me putting MY input." Sonic narrowed his eyes. "Do you have any idea what Knuckles thinks as well when you invite him and Tikal? If anything Tikal would ask him if he's having a good time while you don't. You just go along with what's fun for you."

Amy gulped knowing where this was going, tears about to come out. "S-Sonic, you k-know I'd never-." She was stopped by his gloved hand raising towards her, his green eyes watching her with an almost emotionless expression as he said the next several words.

"Am I worth anything to you, being only some sort of hero trophy for you to show others?"

The rose-colored girl gasped shaking her head. "N-No I would n-never see you like that!"

Sonic wasn't fazed. "Amy, from what I can tell in the last several days… others beg to differ. When we go out on dates and others see us I hear whispers about how lucky you are to have a heroic savior by your side. From what I can tell on those dates, you don't do anything about it other than to brag that the hero of our world is going out with you."

The pink hedgehog shook her head again. "T-That's not true Sonic! I-I really d-do love you!"

Continuing to gaze at the rose-colored girl with deadpanned eyes, Sonic simply breathed out. "I really do love you too Ames… but I don't think this is going to work out any longer if you keep lying to me."

Amy shook terribly and walked over to him in distraught, placing her hands on his arms and trying not to break down and cry. "P-Please Sonic… d-don't say it… p-please d-don't…"

Sonic gulped on his part looking ahead and not into her tear-filled olive eyes. His heart wouldn't take it if he glanced at them just once.

"I hurt you so much in the past and I wished to erase that part of your life. Running away everyday from you because I saw you as annoying and you wouldn't leave me alone… but the truth was that I was scared of hurting you and myself. Being together would only mean our enemies finding out more of our weaknesses and if anything happened to you, I wouldn't be able to forgive myself." Sonic looked down to meet her gaze, wincing slightly at her torn expression but continued. "You're a strong girl Amy and I believe that. I see the real you whenever you face up against impossible odds and stand up for yourself and I admire you for it… but when it comes to seeing how others think, especially me… you lean more towards what you like."

The blue hedgehog raised his arms and slowly pulled Amy off, but the pink hedgehog whimpered and clutched onto him tighter.

"Let go Amy." he said. His response was a shake to the head and tears running down the rose-colored girl's cheeks. "N-No! I will n-never let you g-go! EVER!"

Gritting his teeth he applied more force but Amy wouldn't budge. "Let go!"

"NO! I LOVE YOU TOO MUCH TO LET GO OF YOU!" Amy cried continuing to hold onto the blue hedgehog. Sonic growled putting all his strength to pry her off and within seconds he managed to get her off.

Only for Amy to stumble backwards and fall onto the floor.

Heavy panting came off the Blue Blur as he looked down at Amy who hid her face and silently cried. A horrible feeling shot through Sonic with his body trembling, but he remained strong.

"Even I still hurt you when we're together." Sonic gave a soft sigh afterward. "Face it Amy, we weren't meant to be together. I'm too much of a free spirit to even be in a relationship and even I can't make you happy when I try to fix my mistakes. You don't know all about me and instead just throw insults at me."

Amy sniffed and looked up, her teary red and puffy eyes trying to keep composure. "I-I'm s-sorry S-Sonic… I-I p-promise I-I-I c-can-."

"No." Sonic raised a hand. "That's enough promises. Like you said, I don't meet them to you… we're done."

Sonic said nothing more as he turned around, catching a glimpse of chilidogs on a large plate. 'Thanks for the meal, but I just lost my appetite…'

In a streak of blue light Sonic ran out the house at high speeds, leaving a now bawling Amy on the kitchen floor as she reached out to him. "SONIC WAIT! DON'T GO!" but it was no use. He was already gone.

'I-I'm so sorry… my love…'

"Sonic?"

End of Chapter 1

And there you have it!

Hopefully everything goes well in the end but by the looks of it our blue hero doesn't want to be with our pink bubbly girl anymore. Will they get back together somehow? And who was that in the end? (Hint: It's not Knuckles)

Til next time! ouo/
