"I suppose we will learn how the Children feel?" Vairë shrugged lightly, the Valier having gathered in a deep, hidden part of the Pastures of Yavanna, far beyond where any non-Ainur could hope to get without her aid.

"I hate all of you." The Lady of said pastures was resting against a tree, pouting. By now, her pregnancy was well-visible, though it was anyone's guess how far along she was. There was plenty of debate about the matter, not helped by the fact that the only previous ainurian pregnancy had been carried by Melian in a full Elven fana, with an elvish partner.

"Your sacrifice is appreciated." Varda assured her, managing to make the fallen tree she was sitting on seem comparable to one of her thrones. It had been decided that one of them would be the first, the rest waiting until afterwards before taking their own turns, if they were so inclined.

"The only one who shows me any pity here is Nienna." The expecting Valie flapped her arm - rather than the branch she craved to have - at the only single one among them.

"I mean, it's her job." Said single one's law-sister shrugged, before turning her attention to the belly again. "Now, if at least the growth is comparable to the Children, I'd say you are about two-thirds there."

"Oh dear..." Vána counted on her fingers. "So that'd put Valarien - is that even a word!? - pregnancies at about two and a half years!?"

"Well, we have all the time in the world." Her law-sister mused, draped among some flowers. "No need to hurry."

"I want to be a tree..." By now, it had been a good half year since Yavanna had been able to be a tree, her fana literally refusing to shift into a form that was not Children-adjacent.

"Lesson learned for next time; fill up on tree-time before pregnancy." Varda reached over to pat the other's shoulder. "At least we seem immune to morning-sickness and the like?"

"Yeah, there's that, I suppose." She hoisted herself into a more seated position, one hand on her stomach. "On that note..." She looked over to the Weaver, who even now was working on some textile-project.

"I have convinced Námo to prepare a room in the Halls." Vairë assured her. "We'll have to hope it's deep enough."

Melian had risen Doriath several times during her time there, and once had been during her labor with Luthien. No one was quite ready to find out if this was a universal thing, and the damage it could do if a Valie started exerting her power uncontrollably. The entirety of the Valinorian plantlife going haywire was not something anyone wanted.

Being that they were mostly detached from Eä, the hope was that in the depths of the Halls of Mandos, they'd be too far from their domains to cause any major damage.

"No plants, however." Nienna sobbed softly. They had to wonder if it was a real one, or a theatrical one. Now, in the Second Singing, she was far happier, no longer needed to mourn as much as she had to in Marred Arda.

"I think he'd loose his mind if there's suddenly a garden in there." His wife chuckled.

"Well, you hope there's no plants in there." Vána pointed out. "Not sure it'll stay plant-free for long."

"That wing of the Halls will be a mess." Estë conceded. "At least there's no Ulmo to flood it in labor-pangs?"

All seven laughed at that statement, flowers blooming at the mere sound of their joyful voices.
