The new Maia - for that is what they had determined the first child to be - was introduced to the other Ainur and the Children as Cilinaril. While their mind was pretty much up to their proper age, their body was very much like those of the Children.

Though Yavanna had given a quick prayer of thanks to Eru that it seemed their bodily functions were under better control than normal babies. Considering no one knew how fast a full Ainur would take to mature, she had not been looking forward to the bit where she'd have to deal with diapers for potentially years.

Little Cilinaril travelled with her in a carrying-strap most of the time, tucking it comfortably against her chest as the Valie worked. They were absolutely delighted with Eä, regularly bemoaning not following the first time around if it was this fun and demanding sight-seeing tours all over the place.

Aulë joked they'd probably join Oromë's Hunt, despite being probably being one of his intended Maiar.

"At least it'll stop our home from getting overrun with crystals?" She poked the crystals that sprouted from any surface in a two foot radius around their child when it slept.

"One of the great Mysteries of Arda the Children will have to deal with; why are there these giant crystal-clusters dotted all across the surface?" Her husband snorted in amusement, gentle smile while watching the small form snoring softly. At every second or third snore, the green gems that were slowly overtaking the crib grew a small bit.

"I am just hoping they are not going to pick female once they grow up. Námo will not forgive them if they ever drown his Halls in crystals." He had complained plenty at the garden that had extended almost all the way into the main bit of his home after the introductions had been done with. But at least there had been no reports of the animals or plants being affected by their Valie's labor, so it seemed that the Halls of Mandos having the Ainurian birthing-room was a fact now, which he had also complained about at length, though probably only his direct siblings and wife could tell how serious he had truly been.

No one pointed out that clearly he did not mind too much, because just two days ago Vairë had announced her pregnancy and she could not have done that by herself.

"He could use some color beyond Vairë's tapestries." The Smith considered the crystals, before breaking a piece off one of the larger clusters. The small form either had not heard it, or the blanket woven from Lorien-grown flax was just so infused with Irmo's powers that it was impossible for anyone to wake underneath it before their body let them.

"She and her people are still playing catch-up, yes." The Giver of Fruits pointed out. Between the couple-decades long discussion on whether things of the First Singing should be depicted again prominently, rather than hidden in side-corridors, and it simply not having been that long anyway since the Second Singing had started, the Halls had been bare when they had been there in a way it had been literal Eons ago since a comparable emptiness.

'Hungy...' Their child announced softly, their mental voice sounding the most like their fana's age when they were just waking up or falling asleep. 'Mummy... am hungy.' It squirmed, kicking off the soft blankets and flailing a bit as rolling over onto their back was not as easy as one might think.

"Of course." This, she had plenty of experience with by now, scooping Cilinaril up easily and tucking them against her chest as she headed over to a comfortable place to sit. Now that they were not liable to grow bigger while he worked, Aulë started removing most of the crystals. At least his forges had little shortage of colorful additions to their works these days without have to mine or prospect for them.

When he was done, he joined his family, lifting his wife into his lap so he could hold both her and the happily drinking child. She leaned into his hold, tucking her head in his neck with a soft sigh of contentment.
