I do not own Naruto, Kishimoto. Maybe one day I will!

Obito watched the rain fall over the large city of Ame. Slowly taking in one droplet of rain with his long range Kamui as an exercise to be sure he will have pinpoint accuracy with it. With his right eye he instinctively knew how to use it, even training made it easy enough to learn. However, in the three years of having his left eye he found it harder to use the long-range ability. It was mostly because it required him to focus on the spot, he wanted to activate Kamui, but his sharingan kept his focus to move towards whatever caught his attention in his peripheral vision. It was the first time since he left the cage that he felt they way he did when he was in the academy. Now thankfully he can use it as easily as his other abilities, but he keeps up with these small exercises, so he doesn't get rusty.

"Do you believe he will be a worthy candidate for our organization?" The deep voice of the former Yahiko asked.

Through the two eye holes on the orange swirling mask, Obito glances at the body of the main Pein, "yes. Kakuzu may be greedy, but his skill is undeniable. We will need him to complete our goals." Even though he was the one who helped Nagato create his six paths of Pain, he still found it unsettling that he would choose his former best friend as the main path. Even with the many small piercings and the rippling pattern of his purple eyes he can still see the overconfident Yahiko. It was a small feeling of missing that Obito didn't expect to feel for the former leader of the Akatsuki.

"What do suggest we do to convince him into joining our cause?" Pein wondered.

"With Kakuzu it all begins and ends with money and power. We dangle the thoughts of riches in front of him, and he will be more than obliged to join." Obito explained.

"Are you sure that we need others, between you, Konan, and I we can bring the entire world to its knees? That is the power we already hold, the power of a god." Pain voiced with the confidence that he must have inherited from Yahiko. It was the same confidence that those with power have. The belief that they are above others, that they are the ones who can mold the world to their making. It was a belief that he shared with both Madara and Nagato.

"As strong as we are, having others to complete phases of our plan is beneficial. It keeps us from having to deal with the trivial objectives so we can focus all our power and attention on the main goal: to create a world of peace. With that in mind, why don't you or Konan go and try to convince Kakuzu to join our cause." Obito ordered eager to get this conversation over with so he can go back to the peace of his dark thoughts.

"I apologize but I will not be able to talk to Kakuzu. Konan and I are ready to take out Hanzo and assume control over Ame. It will serve as the main base of operations for the Akatsuki, just as Yahiko wanted." Pein explained.

"Fine, do what you need. I'll convince Kakuzu." Obito replied with a small wave of his hand. Pein nodded before taking off into the always raining sky.

Obito sighed, opening and closing his right hand. It felt natural to him, yet it still felt like it wasn't his. He often wondered how much of his body was originally his. He'd stare at the white splotches of Hashirama cells that littered his right side, the scars on his face, wondering what he'd look like if he was fully whole. Not even having both his eyes could shake the feeling that his body was not entirely his. In a way he assumes its not. He did lose most of his right side when that boulder crushed him. He wondered if Nagato felt the same inhabiting those six bodies.

Of course, he couldn't ask, it would be too friendly. And one thing he knows is that Madara isn't friendly, therefore he can't be either. No matter how deep inside, passed the feeling of ambition, passed the darkness, passed Madara, buried was the feeling of wanting a connection again. He wanted to be able to open up to someone. Every time he thought of that feeling, he couldn't help the feeling of grief. He had that connection with Asami and she is gone. He had it with Rin, and though she is still here, she wouldn't want this new him. Especially not after he went after Kushina.

Obito let out another sigh. Things weren't always great back in Konoha but he couldn't deny that it was simpler.

"Found him." The voice of Zetsu spoke to his left.

Obito nodded, "Take me to him."

Rin jumped away from the small fire jutsu. In less than two seconds she blitzed the one who used the jutsu kneeing him in the face, feeling the crunch of his nose. She turned to her right seeing Kurenai restraining a dazed bandit. Glancing to her left Asuma was sending one of his chakra blades into the chest of another. Only two left now. Rin rushed forward toward one of the bandits as she neared, she readied a fist when wires erupted from his chest. Rin quickly jumped back avoiding the spray of blood.

"What was that?!" Asuma yelled.

"I have no idea." Rin answered, she leaned to her left trying to see passed the dead bandit in front of her. She followed the metallic wires that extended to a large burly man. His face was covered similar to Kakashi, he wore a Takigakure hitai-ate. His light green pupilless eyes shined with the thrill of his kill.

"Who are you?" Kurenai asked finally noticing the newcomer.

The last bandit seeing that he is the only when left took off in a run, before any Konoha shinobi could react the burly man was behind him snapping his neck. Asuma quickly threw two kunai at the man's back, he turned around in time to catch both in his hands.

"I'm not here for you, these five stole an artifact worth a decent amount of ryo. I just came to retrieve it." The man spoke with a skin crawling voice.

"As Konoha shinobi we can't disregard what we saw here. You'll need to come with us." Kurenai coldly stated.

"If you insist on hindering me, then I'll have no problems ridding myself of you three." The man retorted.

Asuma bull rushed the man, engaging him in taijutsu for a couple seconds when he stabbed at him with his chakra blade. Only it didn't penetrate. The man's skin became a dark shade of grey. "Your skin? It hardened?" Asuma questioned before the man kicked him. Asuma flew over the ground to be caught by Kurenai.

The man glided over the distance quickly grabbing Asuma by his head pulling him away from Kurenai. The empty handed kunoichi was then kicked in the chest. She rolled until she crashed into a tree. The man then punched Asuma in the gut. Rin heard his pain filled grunt. The man threw Asuma into the ground creating a small crater.

Rin jumped and landed next to Kurenai checking on her friend. Kurenai stood up a fire in her eyes. "Let's go with attack plan C." Rin suggested. The raven haired kunoichi nodded. Kurenai sprinted towards the man, as Rin flowed through hand signs. Kurenai reached the man and they both paralyzed. He was trapped in her genjutsu.

Rin finished and jumped in front of Kurenai, "Suiton: Suidanha!" Rin spewed a high-pressure stream of water out of her mouth. The jet of water crashed into the man's chest tearing through him. Rin released the jutsu letting the man fall to the earth, dead. As soon as the body fell Kurenai went to check on Asuma. Feeling the strong bond her two comrades shared, Rin was forced to turn away when she felt a pain of longing in her heart. Her half lidden eyes fell on the dead man, slowly opening wider as his body began to convulse. Four entities tore out from his back as his body rose. The entities stared or glared at her from behind white masks, Rin couldn't tell but she knew they were looking at her. The man's true eyes were hidden behind his long black hair that covered his face like a veil.

As one of the entities crumpled in on itself, Rin quickly weaved signs together finishing at the bird seal, "Suiton: Mizu Tatsumaki!" A large vortex of water emerged from the earth, tearing the ground towards the masked man. Rin then jumped to the side, weaving more signs, "Suiton: Suiryūben!" An orb of water the bigger than a horse formed in the air, controlling her jutsu she sent eight whips of water to tear through the man and the entities. One of the entities rushed forward creating a mud wall to stop her tornado of water. Rin was fine with that, it only served as a distraction. As the wall rose from the ground the whips of water rushed towards the man. His forearms extended out from his biceps as metal wires quickly smack the whips away.

Rin felt a heat at her back, glancing over her shoulder she saw a ball of fire before it hit her. The flames seared the back of her arms and the bottom of her shoulder length brown hair. The force of the jutsu sent her forward through her water tornado, smashing her into the mud wall. The air escaped from her lungs, her vision became dark, pain wrapped around her entire body that even falling to the floor couldn't register into her brain. Some yelled her name, but she couldn't tell. She wasn't even sure it was her name.

She could feel the presence over here, the killing intent emanating from it sent a shiver down her spine. She tried to move, but her body wouldn't respond. She sensed the presence gathering chakra, is this it? No, the voice of her tenant answered. Power rushed through her; wounds began to heal. Her eyes snapped opened staring at the man with all the hatred inside her and Isobu. Feeling the chakra surrounding her form into two tails, she quickly wrapped one around the man's ankles tossing him away.

Rin cursed when she realized she threw him in the direction of Kurenai and Asuma. The man turned his body forcing himself to land next to them. He swiftly kicked Kurenai and stomped on the back of Asuma's head with the same foot. One of the entities rushed towards her, fire erupting from where she assumed the mouth was. Rin instinctively created a seal-less water wall to protect herself. The fire jutsu collided with the water filling the area with steam.

The man appeared next to her a fist arching forward, Rin used her forearm to deflect the attack sending a knee forward. He pushed her knee away from him, knocking her off balance. His elbow crashed into her face rupturing her cheekbone with a loud crunch. Her body began to fall back but stopped as the metal wires wrapped around her arms and waste. The man started his assault with a barrage of crushing fists, knees, and kicks. Every hit chipped away at the surge of power Isobu lent her. She could hear jutsu going off in the distance, she knew it was Kurenai desperately trying to avoid the attacks of this man's entities.

"Kakuzu," a voice Rin remembered from her dreams spoke. Through her one unswollen eye she glanced to see, 'Obito' standing next to them. A hand grasped around the now identified Kakuzu's wrist. A black high collared cloak engulfed his frames, deep red clouds littered the outside. Two sharingan eyes focused on Kakuzu, through the eye holes of his orange swirled mask.

"Who are you? Reinforcements?" Kakuzu asked.

"Who I am can be discussed later, for now I am simply a man who's come with a proposition." 'Obito' responded boredom evident in his voice. Rin tried to call out to him, but all that escaped her throat was a low wheeze of air. His eyes quickly glanced to her before returning to Kakuzu, "Come with me, there's no need to soil yourself with these weak beings any longer."

"I don't care about whatever proposition you have," Kakuzu grunted. Rin watched as an entity hovered behind 'Obito' spitting forth the same flames that attempted to end their lives. The flames flowed through him, hitting Kakuzu with the strong torrent of fire. The sudden heat forced Kakuzu to release Rin.

She attempted to place her arms forward to brace against her fall, instead strong arms caught her setting her down softly on the ground. She looked up at 'Obito' as he kept his focus on the recovering Kakuzu, "Thank you," Rin squeaked.

"It seems I must show you a show of strength to bring you to the table," an annoyed sigh escaped him, "Fine continue on with this farce."

Kakuzu growled he blitzed 'Obito' throwing a punch towards his head. Kakuzu's fist flew through 'Obito' as he fazed through the rest of Kakuzu's body. 'Obito' raised his left elbow, a wooden rod tore from it stabbing into the back of Kakuzu. 'Obito' twisted his body kicking Kakuzu away from him. "You've now lost two hearts; do you wish to continue?"

Kakuzu glared at 'Obito' as one of his entities crumpled. His remaining two entities rushed forward fire and lightning spewing from them towards the Uchiha. The jutsu converged over him, erupting in an explosion that 'Obito' walked out of unscathed.

Rin gasped in surprise when a small vortex appeared on Kakuzu's chest. A loud painfilled yell tore from Kakuzu's mouth as part of his chest disappeared. Another entity crumpled. "Only two left, Kakuzu."

Kakuzu rushed forward his arm flying from his body. "How naïve," 'Obito' scoffed. Another vortex swallowed the arm. To Rin it seemed like 'Obito' barely nudged himself forward when in less than second he was in front of Kakuzu his hand wrapped around his throat, as his other stabbed him with another wooden rod. Kakuzu freed himself from 'Obito's grasp as his last entity crumpled. "How's this, if you come with me know and listen to what I have to say you have my word that no matter your answer I will find replacements for the four hearts you've lost here today. Deny this request now, then… well I'm sure you can figure that out."

Kakuzu glared at 'Obito' for a few moments, "fine."

"Good then I'll see you shortly." Kakuzu was then sucked into 'Obito's right eye. 'Obito' turned towards Rin, slowly walking to her. Rin tried to sit up but she no longer had the bijuu chakra or any of her own energy to even do something so simple.

'Obito' stopped moving, seemingly freezing in place as Kurenai landed between him and her. Suddenly Kurenai screamed as 'Obito' continued walking. With a small glance to the now unconscious kunoichi, "Nice try." A bloody Asuma then attempted to hit 'Obito' with a punch. 'Obito' simply leaned away from the attack, countering with a thunderous back hand that knocked Asuma out as well.

Rin once again found herself admiring the strength of the man in front of her. Based off the conversation between 'Obito' and Kakuzu she figured out he had five hearts if the were all destroyed than she assumes Kakuzu would die. Her and her team barely managed to destroy one, and that was even after Asuma was nearly killed. This man who she knows to be Obito quickly destroyed three of those hearts as if he was nothing but an ant. He even somehow twisted whatever genjutsu Kurenai placed on him, to her. This was the strength she always believed Obito could reach, now she was seeing the fruits of his labor. Unfortunately, she happened to be on the other end of it.

She has spent the last three years arguing with her family about him, they were no longer convinced it was him. The were adamant that he was Uchiha Madara, she knew better. She could never remove that image of the way his eye longed to reach her when they fought three years ago. Even now instead of letting her fall to the ground he set her down. The shinobi Madara was would never care enough to do that, only Obito.

"Obito." She whispered.

'Obito' stopped. She could almost feel the battle raging within himself. "Obito it's okay, I know its you." Rin continued.

"H-how?" He stuttered. His voice started off the same as she's heard after he died, but when the three-letter question ended off it sounded like his voice. The voice that interrupted her dreams since Kanabi Bridge.

She gave him a small, bloodied smile, "I can always tell when you are hiding your wounds, even behind that mask I can tell." She widened her smile, "I'm always watching you know."

Obito finished covering the distance, he slowly sat in front of her. She attempted to move closer, but he raised his hand signaling her to stop. His hard eyes bore into her, making doubts sneak into her thoughts. Then they softened. His raised hand moved gripping the edge of his mask, removing it.

Rin gasped. He looked different than the person she fought three years ago. He looked like an older Obito. He looked more mature, he looked tired. Yet he was still handsome, not even the scars on his right side could hide it that fact. He had a ruggedness that enraptured her.

"See I knew it was you," she grinned. He attempted to return her smile, but he couldn't hide the sadness that stayed on the surface. "I don't know what you've been through, Obito, but you can still come home. I know that everyone would be happy to have you back no matter what you did."

"I can't Rin." He whispered his eyes turning away from her.

"Why not?" She asked. She waited in an anxious silence for his answer, when none came her smile fell. "Why won't you come home, Obito? Why won't you return to our friends? Our team?" She took a deep haggard breath as tears began to fall, "Why won't you come back to me?" she whispered.

Obito's returned to hers, "I can't Rin. Not after everything that has happened. The thing's I've done, the thing's I've seen. I can't go back. I have to change this world." He took her hands into his rough ones. "I will save this world Rin, I promise." His sharingan eyes began to whirl in the sea of red, "You will forget I am alive. The masked man you fought is Uchiha Madara. Obito died by that boulder. You need to move on. Forget about me."

Rin felt her body freeze as his chakra entered into her, she knew it was a genjutsu that would alter her memories. She wasn't great at fighting off incredibly strong genjutsu no matter how much Kurenai tried to help her. "Please don't Obito," Rin pleaded as her mind began to darken. The image of his face began to blur out of her memories.

"Uchiha Obito is dead. The love you feel for him is dead. Move on." He asserted.

Rin felt his words more than she heard him. She could feel a piece of her be buried underneath the finality of his words, her eyes began to close no matter how much she tried to fight it. She knew if she did then she would forget everything about him.

Her will wasn't strong enough to stop it.

"Naruto! Stop running, 'ttebane!" Kushina yelled as she chased the tiny blonde ball of energy. Naruto only giggled as he tried to stuff more of the stolen cookies into his mouth. She had told him to wait until after dinner, she barely turned away from him for a second before turning around to see his grubby little hands taking several of the small treats.

That was five minutes ago. She has been chasing him around the kitchen, dinning room, and living room for five freaking minutes. Of course, she could be more aggressive, she is a kunoichi after all but if she did then she may hurt the boy by accident.

A knock at the door forced her attention from the scurrying boy. "Fine! Have the damn cookies!" She yelled as he laughed up the stairs. She quickly swallowed the feeling of wanting to throw her son out a window, before opening the door. Kakashi stood in her doorway a bored look in his one visible eye.

"Are you having troubles Kushina-San?" He asked.

She felt the tick mark emerge over her right brow, "what is it Kakashi?"

"Hokage-Sama has asked me to inform you that Rin is currently in the hospital along with Asuma and Kurenai. There mission didn't go well. She isn't in critical condition, but she was very injured." Kakashi explained.

"Why the fu- I mean heck wouldn't you lead with that, 'ttebane?!" Kushina exclaimed, before turning around going to the base of the stairs, "Naruto get down here we have to go see, Nee-chan at the hospital." She waited until she heard a small okay, before turning back to Kakashi. "Have you been to see her?"

"Not yet. I was with Hokage-Sama when he was told, he asked me to come tell you first." He replied.

She almost told him for the millionth time he doesn't have to be so formal around her, especially when it concerns their little family. But she knew just like every time it would fall on deaf ears. "You go ahead Kakashi, we will be there shortly."

"I'll head that way after I inform her parents as well." Kakashi said with a wave before shunshining away.

Kushina quickly grabbed the descending Naruto before rushing towards the hospital. Even though Kakashi said she was doing okay, she couldn't help the worried feeling in her chest.

The smell woke her first. The sterile smell of disinfectant attacked her nostrils. Her eyes fluttered open when she heard the turn of the door handle. The blurriness allowed to see the shape of one of the attendants checking over her file. She heard him sigh before moving towards her stopping when he realized she was awake.

"Hey there Rin-Chan, you gave us all a scare." He stated somewhat cheerfully. Rin blinked away the blurriness, seeing Kaito's face come into focus. He gave her a side smile, "your wounds were healed as best as they could, however there was something keeping you from waking. We couldn't figure it out. All in all, a few days rest and you should be just fine."

"How did I get here?" Rin asked.

"Another team returning from mission came across you guys." She sat up as the memories of what transpired rushed through her mind, "don't worry Kurenai and Asuma are fine. Out of the three of you both you and Asuma looked like you were used as someone's punching bag." Even though she was relieved to know that her friends were okay, she frowned. Kaito didn't know how right he was.

She remembered Kakuzu holding her up as he continued to beat her. Her eyes widened as she remembered Madara almost killing him. He remembered him taking out Kurenai with a genjutsu, him taking out Asuma with one hit. Then he came to her. All she remembers after that is his red eyes before everything went black. The thought of his eyes made her heart hurt. She remembered how much she wished he was Obito, but he wasn't. Obito is dead. Has been for years now.

Kaito seem to notice her frown deepen, "hey don't worry, whatever happened I'm sure everything will be handled. That's the privilege you have by being the Hokage's student." He slowly bent over taking her hand into his, "it's the privilege you have of just being you."

His hands were soft, Rin noticed. He stared at her with his light green eyes, it was a look she was familiar with. It was the same look Obito use to give her. Unlike with Obito, she was aware that Kaito had a crush on her. The worked together at the same hospital she was currently a patient at. Everyday they were in close proximity. Rin didn't deny he was handsome. He had sandy brown hair that hung past his ears, and of course his green eyes were beautiful. His sharp jaw was something women found attractive. Over the past three years, he has become a friend to her. She has thought about letting him in, but she couldn't. Not when she believed that Obito was still alive. And now that she knows he is dead, she realized she was just using him as an excuse. In reality she was afraid. She was afraid of letting someone in and loosing them all over again.

"I don't know what exactly happened during your mission, but if you need someone to talk to, I'll be here. Promise." Kaito said as his thumb massaged the back of her hand.

"Thanks, Kaito but I think-" Rin began before the door swung open. A very disheveled Kushina came rushing inside, Naruto squirming in her arms. Kaito quickly removed his hand from hers, she knew he was hoping Kushina didn't notice, but Rin could tell she did based off the small blush of embarrassment on her face.

"Oh, sorry we can wait outside if you want." Kushina said with a smile.

"No, no its fine. I was just leaving." Kaito uttered, turning back to Rin, "I'll check on you in a few hours." He walked passed Kushina, "Kushina-Sama" he said with a small bow, before exiting the room.

"He's cute." Kushina stated once the door closed. Naruto continued to struggle to break free from his mother's grasp. "Okay, okay," she groaned as she sat him down.

Like a bolt of lightning Naruto ran to her and jumped right into her lap, "Neechan!" he squealed as he landed on her with a soft thump.

Rin ignored the sudden jolt of pain, "hey Naruto." She hugged him.

"Sorry, he just has so much energy. I've tried almost everything to get him to run out, but it's endless." Kushina apologized.

"It's okay." Rin said with a smile.

Kushina sat down on the chair by her bed, with a tired sigh, "anything going on between you two?" she asked.

"No." Rin took a breath, "maybe. He has a crush on me. For a while now."

Kushina leaned forward a smile on her face, "do you like him?"

"I don't know. He is fun to be around, but I'm not sure I feel anything for him other than being friends. Maybe something could've happened between us. He is interested in the same things I am. We are compatible, but I just couldn't attempt to see." Rin leaned back into the wall, she poked Naruto on the nose watching his face scrunch up and try to swat her hand away.

"Is there a reason why?" Kushina asked.

Rin knew that Kushina knew the answer before she even asked the question. It was the answer that has caused many arguments between the two. It was the only thing they've ever argued about. "Because of how much I wished that Madara was Obito. I couldn't move on if there was a small chance he was alive." She felt a tear slide down the left side of her cheek, "I know he's not now. That man isn't Obito."

"Is he the one who nearly killed you?" Kushina asked surprise and worry written all over her face.

Rin opened her mouth to answer when a small hand wiped away her tears, "don't cry, neechan." Naruto said a similar worried look on his small face.

Rin smiled, "no, it was a man named Kakuzu. But he was there. It was apparent that he wasn't Obito. I didn't feel the same way when he attacked three years ago." Rin looked up at Kushina, her smile now gone as more tears streamed down her face, "I'm sorry. I should've realized earlier. Obito would've never try to hurt you. Hurt us." Rin choked out.

Kushina quickly rose and engulfed her and Naruto in a hug. Naruto gave a happy squeal. "There's no need to apologize, sweetie, I wished he was Obito too. We all did."

Rin wrapped her arms around the red head, burying the sound of her crying with Naruto's blonde hair. She could no longer live in the past. Not when there was so many people wanting her to join her in the present. And join them she will. Her eyes hardened, Madara was the one who hurt her friend Isobu, he tried to kill Kushina. For them she'll continue to get stronger and end the terror he caused on her loved ones.

Obito looked over the piles of fuinjutsu scrolls scattered across his desk's surface. He suppressed the need to groan in frustration. He's lost count of how many scrolls he's read. No matter how many he opened he still hasn't found one scrap of information about the cursed seal on his heart. Which meant he still has no idea on how to remove it. If he can't remove it, he can't get rid of Zetsu. Even after three years he has learned to control the urge to kill Zetsu. Every time he almost moved to hurt him; the damn cursed seal stopped him.

He will never be able to forgive him for the part he played in Asami's death. Unfortunately, he can't act on those feelings, but one small comfort was that one day he would. Before he completed the Tsukiyomi, Obito promised himself that the seal and Zetsu will be gone. Neither him nor Madara will see their plan completed. Obito didn't need them, nor did he want them.

I wonder how much more blood will be on my hands when that time comes? Obito mused. It was something he was becoming more and more comfortable with: the taking of someone's life. He wasn't a stranger to killing before Madara, he was fighting a war after all. The thing was he didn't enjoy it, now he can't say the same. The truth was it didn't bring him happiness, but something worse. He felt nothing every time someone died from his own hand. It became apparent a year ago.

He was traveling through Iwa, when he came across a group of cultists about to sacrifice a little boy. The scene before him angered him, solidifying once again how much this world needed to change. He slaughtered every one of them, leaving only the boy. He found the town they came from and killed them all. He wasn't sure if they all followed along or not, but he killed them none the less. He remembered clearly sitting in a pool of blood, feeling nothing but the satisfaction of removing these people from the world.

A knock on the door broke him away from his musings. He cleared his throat, "Enter." He commanded. Pein and Konan entered into his small office.

"Ame is now fully under our control." Pein spoke first. "We can now use it as our base of operations."

"What of Hanzo?" Obito asked.

"Dead." Konan answered.

Obito felt a smile creep unto his face, "Good."

Pein took a step forward, "What of Kakuzu?"

"He has agreed to join our organization. He is currently replenishing the hearts I destroyed." Obito answered.

"What do we do now? If we want to be able to make ourselves a staple in the world in order to further our goals, we are going to need money. We need to set up an infrastructure." Konan said.

"I understand that. First, we need more members, as strong or stronger than Kakuzu. Then we can focus on more funds, one of the reasons I wanted Kakuzu. After wards I have a plan to manipulate the five great nations into possibly fighting another war. Under the cover of that chaos, we can gather the nine bijuu. The focal point is to make them believe it was one of the other nations. Once that is complete, we can create the world of peace Yahiko and Asami dreamt of." Obito explained.

Pein and Konan nodded in agreement. A movement brought Obito's attention to the right corner of his office. Madara was leaning against the wall, his arms crossed, a smile on his face. "Your coming along nicely, Obito."

Hope you guys enjoy the new chapter. As I've said before this arc is the creating of the Akatsuki. This is where we will diverge from canon even more. If you were wondering the Uchiha massacre isn't going to happen in this story. Minato and Fugaku's friendship is more solidified than it was in canon, and without the Kyuubi attack there is no reason to further ostracize the Uchiha clan. But it can still happen, just not with Itachi.

I'm not entirely sure if genjutsu can be used the way Obito used it against Rin, but I know he was able to manipulate the fourth Mizukage with genjutsu and Sasori was able to use genjutsu to implant a spy in Suna. So based on that I'm going to use creative liberties.

Don't worry this is still a ObiRin story, just felt that there needed to be more of a distance between them before she can bring him out of that darkness. Right now I feel she needs to continue to focus on living her life and bettering herself, while Obito figures a way to break free from Madara's manipulation.

Well let me know what you guys think, I look forward to hearing what ya'll say. You guys take care see you when the next chapter drops.
