I do not own Naruto, Kishimoto does.
Obito let the kunai fall into the basin full of water. Ignoring the few splashes of water that landed on his shirt he lifted his eyes to the mirror to check his work. He brushed his hand through his now shorter hair. He once again had the short spikey hair he did before his time in the cave. It no longer resembled Madara's long hair. To Obito the change in hair was a sign that he was no longer under that man's influence. It was something to help remind him that he is who he is, and not what he needs to become.
It's been a week since he's had the curse seal removed from him, and for the first time since he thought Rin has died his thoughts have been clear. Well mostly to the point he wasn't constantly focusing on what to do about the Infinite Tsukiyomi plan. He has spent this time away from everyone including the Akatsuki thinking about who he is now. Thinking about what he really wants to do.
In the end, the conclusions he came to during his conversation with Rin, was still what he what he decided upon. He has seen far too much darkness in this world of hell. For some and himself, he was part of that darkness as well. There was no conceivable way he can ever retain a semblance of his old life now. No matter how deep in his heart he wished for it.
As long as the shinobi system was in place, it would continue to destroy the innocence of the populace. Giving birth to more darkness and hatred. Even now he can see how fragile the so-called peace the people were enjoying was. All it would take is one event filled with death and pain, and war would once again scar the lands. It was something he planned to expose for the purposes of furthering the process to complete the Infinite Tsukiyomi.
At the moment he could only think of two ways to bring peace. One was the Infinite Tsukiyomi, however he has promised himself to stop that from happening. He will be damned if anything that Madara thought up would be completed. It also had draw backs that he saw now, something he failed to notice when the curse seal was still part of him. If everyone is asleep in a genjutsu, the human populace wouldn't grow. He could let several people out to continue the human race. But at that point he wouldn't know the peace he wished for. He'd have to stay conscious for that, a constant observer of every one else enjoying the lives they want. Then there was the fact that anyone could possibly break out, and free the others. He didn't even know if every person's memories of the real world be erased. And most importantly it wouldn't be real.
The second way he can think of, was one were he by himself would be the only one to never have peace. It was the plan he is going to set himself on. The world needed to be united. While there'd be no way to completely free people from falling in despair with this plan, at least most of the populace would be free from war. His plan was to become public enemy number one. With the power he holds, he could easily become a threat big enough to unite the great nations against him. He'd do with it power, and with a name: Uchiha Madara.
As much as he hated to admit it, Madara was a legend among all shinobi. A legend and a nightmare for them all. If they thought he has returned from the grave to take vengeance upon the world that betrayed him, all of the nations would come together to fight this threat. Especially if they believed that his targets were their greatest weapons. The bijuu. He would make them think he is going to do what he originally planned. Gather the bijuu, but instead of a dream world he'd say he was going to use them to create a weapon to destroy everyone and everything. As his motive, he is going to say he wants the world to start anew. That this current system has run its course and is due for a reset.
Unfortunately for him, it will require him to continue to commit atrocities. He'd have to spill even more blood in order to bear the hatred of the whole world on his shoulders. Once the nations have united against him, he'd let them kill him and hope that peace would ensue after his death. He knew it could be a fragile alliance afterwards, but hoped that the person his sensei is, would help be the glue to keep it together. Which would hopefully help the new generations grow up in peace, and do their best to keep that lifestyle a reality long after his death.
As for his own peace, he knew it would never happen. Even before one step has been taken to accomplish his plan, he knew he was destined for hell after his life has ended. He wasn't entirely okay with that, but as long as his death can lead to peace it will be worth it.
The first step for his plan was to correct one of his many wrongs: the Akatsuki. He needed to put them back on the correct path. He wanted them to become the silent guardians for the peace he hopes to establish. Nagato and his Rinnegan held enough power to keep big threats from ruining the hopefully peaceful world. There's enough strong shinobi that this world has failed, that could be convinced to join the organization as a keeper of peace. But Nagato and Konan could do the convincing while he united the nations.
Obito threw on a long black hooded cloak over a long-sleeved black shirt, black shinobi pants, and black shinobi sandals. He wrapped the ends of the pants in white tape just over the top of his sandals. On the back of both his cloak and shirt was the Uchiha symbol. He didn't need to hide his ancestry for this plan. He wanted the whole world to know he was an Uchiha.
He placed the orange mask over his face, activating his kamui he appeared in the Akatsuki's hideout. Not as Madara's pawn, but as Uchiha Obito.
"You've returned." The familiar voice of Nagato's tendo path said.
Obito turned around to see the main Pein, staring out the window of the large tower that stood above Ame, observing the rising sun. Surprisingly Konan wasn't by his side. Obito took a few steps stopping until he was standing on Pein's right side, "I'd have been back sooner, but I encountered some problems. Where is Konan, there is something I wish to discuss with the both of you?" Obito asked with his Madara voice.
"She is helping me prepare." Pein simply answered.
"Prepare for what?" Obito asked, a small nagging feeling poked at the back of his mind.
Pein turned his head to look at him, "I am going to enact justice against the person who had Yahiko killed."
"Both Danzo and Hanzo are dead." Obito responded.
"I know they are. But not the man who orchestrated the events that led to both the deaths of Yahiko and Asami. A man you know quite well, Uchiha Obito."
Obito's eyes widened as an invisible force threw him through the office's back wall. Obito quickly jumped to his feet, staring at the angry eyes of Pein.
"I've learned who you truly are. I've learned the hand you had in the deaths of my friends. I've learned of how you conspired with the Yondaime Hokage to control the world with pain and suffering, all for the sake of enforcing your will to acquire power." Pein turned fully to face Obito, "you'll know true pain. I'll take everything from you as you did to us. Konaha will know my justice, and in the process, I'll gather the two bijuu who live there. Including the jinchuriki of the Sanbi, who holds such a special place in your heart. Afterwards you will die, and I'll be the one to bring peace to the shinobi world."
"I had nothing to do with Yahiko's death!" Obito yelled, taking his mask off allowing Pein to see his face. "That was all Zetsu's doing. He was the one who went to Danzo!"
"If that is true, why not tell us?" Pein asked.
"Because I was manipulated by him." Obito answered.
"You were manipulated? You hold a strength that is leagues above Zetsu, and you expect me to believe you were being manipulated. It would seem your snake's tongue fails in the light of the truth." Pein responded.
"I'm telling you the truth. Please, let me talk to both you and Konan and I'll tell you my side of the story." Obito said.
"I no longer care to hear the false words pour from your mouth." Pein replied lifting his hand, Obito felt himself being pulled towards him.
Obito used Kamui to phase through Pein once he reached him. "Fine. Then I guess I'll have to defeat you before you'll listen to me." Obito turned around and quickly kicked Pein's right side. His leg dug into the body causing Pein to disappear in a cloud of white smoke. "A shadow clone." Obito exclaimed.
He spread out his senses, trying to find Pein but he felt nothing. The entirety of the tower was empty. He was talking to a clone the entire time. That realization begged the question, where the hell was Nagato?

Rin smiled at the image staring at her from the mirror. Her new cropped shirt, that showed her midriff, and her new light pink skirt gave her a more feminine appearance. Even if she had on black shinobi sandals and her hitai-ate, that was screwed onto black cloth, tied around her forehead.
She stepped outside her apartment into the sweltering heat of summer. Ignoring the heat, she halfway skipped towards the Hokage's office. Nothing would ruin this day. Today was the day that the three-man cell of Team Fugaku will begin their mission of finding Obito and bringing him back home. The team will consist of Fugaku, Kakashi, and her. The week since the truth of Obito's identity has been revealed, was spent recovering and reading through Asami's journal for any information that could lead them to Obito.
They didn't get much but based on a description of one of the Akatsuki's bases, they were able to figure out that they were more than likely operating from Amegakure. Something Minato-sensei was annoyed about, apparently he had forgotten all about the journal. When he believed Obito was Madara, he began reading on Madara's history thanks to Fugaku allowing him to read some Uchiha scrolls. She found it funny that her sensei could make such a mistake, but she could see he was beating himself up as much as Obito did when he made mistakes.
Further reading showed them how much Asami cared for Obito. Even though she mostly described Obito having an impassive attitude that could rival Kakashi. She could also tell that Obito cared for her as well, that was based on how hard he pushed her during training. Rin and Minato-sensei theorized that she helped fill a hole in Obito's heart after he thought she died. Loosing her as well must have pushed him more into that curse seal's manipulation.
She was happy that Minato-sensei was smart enough to figure out that Obito had a curse seal placed on him. She did a little research on them, and everything she read was horrible to her. She wasn't sure what kind was placed on him, but it still made her feel bad that he had to deal with that alone.
Minato-sensei had Jiraiya use his spy network to find any information on someone matching Obito's description. Mask or no mask. Yesterday Jiraiya sent a toad saying that a man with red eyes and scars on the right side of his face was spotted in a small town deep into Hi no Kuni, about two days travel from Konoha. She was happy he was so close, it meant they can probably have him home quicker than she thought.
Of course, they were aware that the Obito who'll be returning home, is much different than the one they believed to have died. And that he has a lot of questions he's going to need to answer. But none of that really mattered, they were all excited that Obito was still alive, and that their family was once again complete. Her as well despite their last conversation.
Rin said a quick hello to the receptionist before running up the stairs. She rounded the corner and knocked on the door to the Hokage's office. Upon hearing her sensei telling her to enter, she opened the door to reveal a smiling Minato-sensei sitting in his chair. Kushina-neechan was standing next to him, Naruto in her arms. Fugaku and Kakashi both stood in front of sensei's desk.
"Good morning!" Rin chirped.
"Good morning, Rin-chan. Don't you look good in your new outfit." Kushina-neechan said with a knowing smile.
Rin felt a blush form on her cheeks, "th-thanks. I just felt it was time for a change." Rin moved to Kakashi's left, Fugaku was on his right.
"Morning, Rin." Kakashi said.
Over the past week, Kakashi has been more vocal. He was still aloof, but he seemed more outspoken and was showing his emotions more. Even a few times he was the one to ignite a conversation. Rin gave him a smile, "good morning, Kakashi."
"Alright, everyone is here." Minato-sensei began causing Rin to turn her attention to her sensei, "you all know the mission. You are to find Uchiha Obito and convince him to return to Konoha. This will be an S-rank mission, not because I'm expecting danger. With the curse seal gone from him, I don't think he will attack. I decided it was S-rank, because at the moment it's an S-rank secret that he is still alive. The council would be too quick in declaring him a criminal and missing nin. My hope is you can talk to him into returning, but on the chance that words are not enough I want you all to take these."
Minato reached into a drawer and pulled out a stack of rectangular pieces of paper. He held them out to the three of them, "these are chakra suppressing tags. They will also seal away his sharingan. If you place this on him, you will have to restrain him quickly because he could easily tear the tag off. There is enough for each of you to have five."
Fugaku reached over and retrieved the seals from Minato-sensei's hand, "thank you Minato. I also hope not to have to use them, but for someone as strong as Obito they will be a great help."
"And there is also this," sensei set five objects that looked similar to smoke bombs on his desk, "inside these there is a colorless and odorless sleeping gas. I'm not entirely sure how Obito's jutsu works, however I do know that when he teleports, he becomes tangible once again. And basing on the distortion around him when he does use his jutsu, I can theorize that he might draw in the air around him when he does."
"Will that really work on Obito? I mean when he showed up in that weird place, he sent me to, he was already healing from his wounds. His body is different now, and without any other information, we could assume that toxins may not affect Obito anymore." Rin said looking at the sleeping gas bombs curiously.
Minato-sensei leaned back into his chair, "hmm that's a fair assumption, however on the off chance that it does work it'll be worth it. If not, then at least you still have the seal tags."
"There's also the question of how we can get the seals on. He is able to become intangible in less than a second even if he has begun the process to teleport. And I'm not sure even if I am fast enough to reach him in that split second he becomes tangible again." Fugaku expressed.
"That is true, that is also considering the fact that he may not even fight us. Its just as possible that he will teleport at the first sight of us." Kakashi added.
"Maybe, but I think that I can get him to stay long enough for us to enact a plan." Rin stated.
"How?" Kushina-neechan asked.
"I believe he'll want to talk to me." Rin answered, making the red head smile.
"I hope so," Minato said with a sigh, "now the first part of the mission of course is to find Obito. You will begin in the town that Jiraiya-sensei wrote about in his letter, from there you will move east towards the border of Ame. If you reach the border without encountering Obito, you three will return here so we can regroup and plan a stealth mission in enemy territory.
"Once you do encounter him, you are only authorized to detain him. No fatal shots. If you fail to capture, you guys will return. I'd imagine at that point he will cover his tracks more than before. I also would like daily reports sent via summonings on all your activities, at 1900. If there is no report for two days, reinforcements will be sent out immediately. Does everyone understand the parameters of this mission?"
"Hai, Hokage-sama!" The three answered in unison.
Minato-sensei smiled, "good. Now go bring him home."
The trio were about to respond, when the world seemed to shake violently to a loud explosion that blew out the back wall of the Hokage's office. Everyone including Rin were sent flying, crashing into the wall behind them. Kushina-neechan flew into her, as she protectively held Naruto.
"Ah, you both are here that makes things easier." A deep chilling voice said, Rin glanced towards the new opening. A man with spikey orange hair and fear inducing amethyst eyes, he had piercings going along the bridge of his nose, his lips, and his ears. And the most surprising thing of his appearance was the black cloak with red clouds, that looked exactly like Obito's.
"Who are you?" Minato-sensei asked flashing in front of his wife and child, standing in a protective manner.
Explosions sounded in the village behind the attacker, "I am the god of this world. Hand over the jinchuriki, and I promise the pain you'll suffer will be short."
Kakashi jumped next to Minato-sensei, "we will never betray our comrades, to the likes of you." Kakashi stated a kunai in his hand.
"How foolish," the man lifted his right arm, a black rod formed in his left. "Bansho Ten'in." Suddenly Kakashi was lifted off the ground and was pulled towards the man.
Minato-sensei flashed grabbing Kakashi, and then flashed back to his original position.
The man turned his head to the side, "ah, the Yondaime Hokage Namikaze Minato, you'll prove a most troublesome opponent."
Sensei gave a quick nod to Kakashi, who quickly created a raikiri. Once the chirping lightning filled their ears, Minato-sensei threw four of his kunai at the man. The kunai raced towards the man, and with a simple stroke of his black rod he knocked the kunai to the ground. "Fugaku!" Sensei yelled.
"Katon: Gokakyu no Jutsu!" A large fireball shot from the elder Uchiha. When the katon jutsu was less then a meter from the man, it dispersed into nothing. At that exact moment the jutsu disappeared her sensei and Kakashi vanished in a yellow light. The appeared to the right of the man, Kakashi thrusting his Raikiri forward. The man slapped Kakashi's hand and sent that black rod into his gut. Minato-sensei flashed back to the others with a bleeding Kakashi.
"How impudent can you be to think that such a tactic would work on me." The man quickly lunged forward with a speed that she's only seen when her sensei teleported. He stood in front of her and Kushina-neechan. He quickly grabbed the both of them with a hand, "Shinra Tensei."
Rin felt the air around him push out with incredible force. Her sensei and teammates along with the entirety of the office was blown away. Leaving the stranger and the two jinchuriki at the epicenter of the destruction. Suddenly five other men with varying designs of orange hair and black piercings landed behind the man. All five were wearing the same cloak. "Keep the Hokage busy, Chikushodo, Gakido, and I will take the jinchuriki."
A distortional vortex appeared next to the man, Obito flew from the opening in space time sending his fist crashing into the man. He's grip loosened its hold on her and Kushina-neechan as he skidded across the destroyed ground. Obito stood where the man once did, anger apparent on his unmasked face. Kushina-neechan let a gasp of surprise, she was sure they all had a shocked look on their faces. This was the first time they have seen Obito's face since before he died. Except for her.
"As I've said you and I have to talk," Obito growled at the man.

That's the end of chapter fifteen. After everything is done with Pain, I have some things planned for Obito and Rin, however I also want to get into canon Naruto part one timeline. So, I guess the question is will you guys be okay with an almost ten year time skip, or do you want me to continue with short time skips that I've been doing. Because honestly Rin and the rest or nowhere near to bringing Obito back. I can see a way for Obito to follow his new plan, but it took the Akatsuki years to be ready to go after bijuu. There had to be a reason, I can't find one but if you know please tell me lol. Same for Obito really he has to set things up for a grand entrance to begin uniting the world against him.
Also, if I do a ten year time skip I'll also add some flashbacks every now and again of the things that transpired. But I honestly want to know from you guys what you'd rather have. Another I want to say is that in none of my fanfics is the Indra and Ashura reincarnations is a thing. I honestly hated that, and felt it was Kishimoto's way to add Kaguya and make it where Sasuke has enough chakra to challenge Naruto after the war. Even after they received six paths chakra.
Either way let me know what you guys think of the new chapter! Next chapter is the conclusion of the stuff with Pain, I wonder how he is going to deal with that. Lol kidding I already know.
Please leave a comment/review letting me know how you think I'm doing.
