WE'RE BACK FOLKS! 🎉🎉🎉

Nothing like going back down Memory Lane huh?

Yep. This one shot will be a soft gentle Mother/Son bonding moment that took place during my very first story ever. The Queen And The Maverick.

Remember when Anna mentioned that Aiden took Elsa out flying? This is that moment.

I promise I will continue my other two stories and my future KH III based story will be made soon. I just have been dealing with some writer's block due to family drama. 😅

Rest assured. The show must go on.

I'll also warn this One Shot is short because it's meant to be a small tender scene. It will feature soft moments that took place during and after the first story.

SPYRO 101: Thanks pal! I appreciate your support and assistance as always. 👍

RustyPete12: Oh yes. Rest assured, Zambron the Crusher is fine and he will be alright. He's got a lady and a new life. But this probably won't be the last time we see him. After all he's this universe's Drax.

Alright! Now that we're all here!

LET'S GET DANGEROUS!

Fly To The Stars.

During the fourth night in Arendelle...

Aiden yet again had a wonderful day with the royal family. Especially since he got to do more than wear the Maverick suit. Which is something that doesn't happen very often. But each night that passed, he was still feeling anxious. To finally be back home. And better yet. To be back in his mother's arms.

And so the eight year old boy. Got out of bed and sat up on the roof of the castle. Looking up at the stars with his glowing colored eyes. Wondering which one of those stars was his world.

Unknown to this Elsa came out to stand on her balcony to get some air that night. And she was wearing her purple nightgown and was barefoot because she had just gotten out of bed. Lost in her thoughts. Having Aiden around changed everything she thought she knew about her universe. And she wants to be there for him. More than what she's doing. But...the Queen knew she would have to let him go if his mother's still alive.

But something told Elsa deep in her gut, that Aiden would not like what he'll see once he's back home. As she turned to look up at the stars. She was surprised to see Aiden still up and sitting on the roof.

"Aiden?" Elsa called up to the young boy, getting his attention, with concern for his well-being welling up inside. "What are you doing up there? That's not very safe."

Aiden grinned as he teleported down and hovered on the other end of the balcony while laying back in the air as he smugly faced Elsa.

"Not safe for who? The roof? He's fine, I made sure the roof was wearing his helmet." Orion gestured at the roof.

"Aiden, Sweetie. Just because you're stronger than the average eight year old, does not mean you're invincible." Elsa said in a motherly protective tone.

Aiden turned over while in the air and he landed next to Elsa. While he held up his right arm. Showing the claw slashes on the side of his upper arm. And a few other scars down below.

"These babies agree with you strongly." Aiden stated in a solemn tone.

"Oh my goodness." Elsa gasped in horror and sadness at the sight of the scars. "How did you get those?"

"Those. Came from a tiger in Beijing. It was trying to attack some farmers. I...ripped its throat out like Patrick Swayze in Roadhouse. Only for one of the farmers to thank me by giving me this scar with a gardening tool. Thinking that I was...What's the Chinese word for Satan?" Aiden explained and wondered about the last part.

He doesn't take pain seriously anymore after going through a lot of it. And it only broke Elsa's heart more. But she didn't shed any tears, as much as she wanted to. She wanted to be a strong parental figure in front of Aiden.

"I am so sorry you were treated with such cruelty." Elsa said with great remorse in her voice. "Those people better pray they never cross paths with me, or I would show them what to really fear."

"It's fine, Queen. I survived." Aiden assured.

"I'm serious, Aiden." Elsa said as she kneeled down to his height. "No child should ever go through what you did. And those people had no right to treat you that way."

Aiden sighed as he thought back on the fear and trauma he felt that day.

"If it makes you feel any better. Groot gave them one heck of a splinter." Aiden timidly grinned.

"Good. I'll have to remember to thank him when I see him later." Elsa said with a pleased tone.

"It wasn't really them though. I mean how would anyone react if they saw a being with glowing eyes in this world? Most of the kids who could do that where I came from were stars of horror films." Aiden remarked.

"Come on, sweetie, that's not... What are horror films?" Elsa said as she led Aiden back inside before being confused about what horror films were.

"They're movies. Scary movies. Most morons tend to get a thrill from getting scared the crap out of. Take Halloween for example...You have those, right?" Aiden answered and asked as he leaned against Elsa's bed.

"Yes, I know what Halloween is. Why?" Elsa asked as she sat down.

"Than you outdated folks already know about the fun in terror. But aside from that. My point is. Everyone's response to seeing me wasn't always hostile. If I wasn't in the suit they would just run like I was a skunk with a steak knife." Aiden pointed out. "Plus physical pain doesn't affect me anymore."

Elsa figured it was because he's been through so much of it already.

"I know you keep saying that. But it still doesn't give me much comfort." Elsa said honestly.

"Huh? No I don't mean in that brooding war variant with a Civil War flashback. I just mean the ring's magic didn't just teach me how to control how powers. But it heightened my mental tolerance for taking pain. Just not for giving it." Aiden explained it better.

In order words. It can hurt. But it won't phase that much.

"Once more, that's not much comfort. But I suppose that's the best it's gonna be." Elsa said with a sigh before smirking. "Well, I think those eyes are pretty cool."

"Here's hoping my Mom doesn't think I need an exorcist." Aiden remarked as he leaned back on her bed feeling some inner excitement to be reunited. "God I can't wait to see her again."

"I know. I hope you do see her again, very soon." Elsa said honestly, though she felt a little sad at the thought of possibly never seeing Aiden again when he leaves to reunite with his mother.

"She's also gonna be stoked to see this place... I mean I'm not passing up on chances to visit this place. Over and over...And over...And over...And over." Aiden listed the possibilities of him seeing them again. Then he repeated after a long pause. "And over."

Elsa chuckled at that.

"Well, I'm gonna look forward to that." Elsa said with a big smile. "I'm also looking forward to meeting the woman who raised such an extraordinary boy."

Of course Aiden wasn't always like this. Sure he was a sweet kid for a cancer patient. But he wasn't always this comical. Wise. Smart and brave. All of this he got from his days as the Maverick. And with Groot.

"Course knowing her. Mom would probably adopt you." Aiden quipped and bit his bottom lip and looked at Elsa. "Don't tell her I said that. I don't want her to think I just called her old."

Elsa chuckled at that as well.

"Don't worry. My lips are sealed." Elsa said with a giggle, pretending to seal her lips.

Aiden laughed a bit with her. And then it came to him. What he was going to do earlier was go out for a flight. But now. He wants Elsa to get involved.

"You're probably still wondering why I was on the roof though, right?" Aiden asked timidly.

"Well, now that you mention it, yes." Elsa said with a nod.

"Well. They say that some of the stars we see in the sky. Are actually other worlds. Did you know that?" Aiden pointed out.

"Yes, actually." Elsa said to the young Maverick. "When Anna and I were little, our parents used to tell us stories about that."

"Well. In truth. Some of those stars are actually supposed to be astronomical glyphs of other worlds. Like tiny mirrors of an Einstein Rosen Bridge...Sorry I mean portals. They're cosmic mirrors that portal to show us glyphs of those worlds. It's how certain worlds can communicate across the Multiverse." Aiden pointed out some strong facts.

"So, a few of the stars above represent a different universe? That's quite mind blowing." Elsa said with a bit of awe.

"Mirror's a universe. Besides, that dresser's portal doesn't represent you." Aiden clarified and quipped as he pointed at Elsa's dresser with the mirror on it.

"A shame. I think the Multiverse could have used more than one of me." Elsa said teasingly.

"Actually there is. It's called the Web of Reality. Each universe has one." Aiden revealed.

"Really? Wow. The more I hear, the more humbled I feel with just how vast the cosmos really is." Elsa said with a bit of surprise in her voice.

"I...Had a theory of my own. But I didn't exactly have any equipment or time to study it. I think the quantum entangled Universe within each Web Of Reality...I think each of those different universes connected to ours. Our part of another Multiverse that mirrors ours. Or a Mirrorverse. Or at least a certain number of those worlds." Aiden stated as he figured that it never was much bigger than they thought.

But he got back on topic.

"But anyway. There could be a dozen different ways on how you solved your...I mean how you concluded the events of the Great Thaw, maybe you had a boyfriend or a son that went after you instead of a sister. Or there could be one reality where you figured everything else out early. Maybe even one where your parents send you to the X-Men. Or to Doctor Strange." Aiden figured and shrugged. "I mean if those people are real. In another universe. But I digress."

Aiden had already told Elsa and Anna stories of the Marvel Universe. Though he heard rumors. He still can't prove those universes are real.

"I'm not entirely sure who those people are. But it does make me wonder what if something was different." Elsa said in whimsical thought. "I couldn't imagine what my life would be like without my sister in it. Or Olaf. Or the rest of our little family."

"Well to tell you the truth. When I heard you were called the Snow Queen. At first I assumed you were like the one from a book we used to read in my home world. But after I heard all the details about your family and what happened. I was kinda blown away." Aiden said as he revealed about the Snow Queen book.

"Really?" Elsa asked with a bit surprised. "What's the Snow Queen in the story like?"

"To tell you the truth. You were the only character in the book. Besides two kids named Kai and Gerda who went on a trip to see the cold and wicked Snow Queen to save their land from dying from a heartless winter. So...Yeah you were the bad guy. Only your name wasn't Elsa. They never said." Aiden timidly revealed.

"Ironic because Gerda is the name of the maid who took care of Anna and I when we were kids." Elsa said to Aiden. "And Kai is my overseer."

"Kay, that's the fifth of the reaction I was expecting. I thought your first response was gonna be about the fact that they made you the bad guy." Aiden remarked.

"Oh I don't mind. If I'm not the character in the book, it doesn't bother me." Elsa said, waving it off. "Of course if Anna overheard about it, she'd probably overreact."

"Oh then remind me to bring some soda pop and nachos to watch that show once I start it." Aiden quipped as they shared a short laugh together.

Elsa really liked the boy's humor. She laughed more than she ever did in her whole life.

"Tell you what. How about I bring you to get a closer look at the stars?" Aiden offered as he stood back up.

"What are you talking about?" Elsa asked, confused about what he was suggesting.

"I'm gonna take you out flying. And not in that poetic Lois and Clark kinda way." Aiden stated simply which made Elsa's eyes widen.

"Are you serious? You mean actually flying around?" Elsa asked with surprise.

"You think I can do it just for myself?" Aiden grinned as he shifted into his Maverick form and bumped his chest. "I can make anything and anyone I want fly with me."

Maverick demonstrated this by causing a neon aurora to cover a piece of paper on Elsa's desk. Fold into an origami butterfly and then fly around the room in a circular pattern.

Elsa looked interested but hesitant.

"I don't know." Elsa said with hesitation in her tone. "I'm not sure if I should."

Maverick decided to use reverse psychology.

"Oooooh. Sorry I thought I was in the Snow Queen's castle, not the Chicken Queen den." Maverick quipped as he constructed a lot of neon chickens around the room. And they started clucking around and checking at the floor.

Elsa was trying not to look amused but trying to hold her deadpan stare.

"Buk buk buk buk ba-gawk! Snow flies! They don't fall!" One of the neon chickens clucked.

"Moooo!" One of the chickens moped and got slapped by another chicken.

"Wrong call!" The chicken scolded.

At that point, Elsa gave in.

"Alright, fine. I'll go with you to fly." Elsa said with an exasperated sigh.

Maverick shifted back into Aiden and then he slowly hovered off the air in front of her. And then he held his hands out.

"Trust me. I won't let go." He assured.

"Okay. I trust you." Elsa said as she took Aiden's hand before gasping as she herself began hovering off the ground. "Woah!"

Elsa was covered in an aurora of neon as she was floating. Then Aiden held her right hand as he brought her over and he opened the doors.

"Hang on." Aiden smiled as he shifted back into the Maverick and took off into the air. With Elsa holding his hand with both hands. He took off slowly but was gaining hight as he was over the town.

"Oh my God. Okay. Take it easy. You're fine, Elsa." Elsa muttered with slight anxiousness, holding onto Maverick's hand with both hands."

Then the Maverick flew over the town of Arendelle as he flew a circle around the lighthouse. And in a circle as Elsa was actually admiring the view. While she was still a little nervous about being up this high.

"You like it?" Maverick asked.

"Y-yes. I do. It's quite the view." Elsa said with a slight stutter as she kept a strong grip on his hand.

"I know you're a little scared. But notice. It's still room temperature." Maverick quipped.

And he was right. Elsa began to notice that, as she was not chilling up as she usually would when she's very afraid. And she's not freezing everything else. Here she is. Flying with the Maverick in the air. And the Queen isn't getting cold or making things cold.

"Ready to really touch the sky?" Maverick asked as he was nearing the edge of the town.

Elsa couldn't help the smile coming to her face.

"Yes. Let's go." Elsa said.

Maverick nodded as he began to pick up the speed. But not too fast. As he flew up towards the clouds. Elsa was looking around as he went past the clouds. Elsa breathed as she looked as it was like passing through cotton.

And then. Once they were above the clouds. Elsa's eyes widened in wonder as she looked around and saw the many stars in the sky twinkling in beauty. And the rays of the Northern Lights twiddled and gleamed throughout the sky. It was such a sight that relieved her anxiety. Especially since she can't see the ground with how high they were and the clouds were thick. Maverick had a good grip on her and his neon berrier would keep her safe and close.

If anything, Maverick felt like he was with his mother. But he won't admit that yet.

Then Maverick turned to Elsa while floating and he took her hands gently. And ascended even further. Until they were both floating at the edge of space. The stars have never been this close before. Elsa was amazed to see the top of her world for the first time. She must be the first human of her world to ever see this.

"Now tell me, Elsa. What do you hear?" Maverick asked Elsa in a quiet voice.

Elsa looked around and wondered what he meant.

"I don't hear anything." Elsa whispered back to him.

Maverick looked out among the world he was chosen to protect. Then he shifted back into Aiden while they still hovered and held hands with Elsa as Aiden revealed.

"I hear everything." Aiden softly said.

"Really?" Elsa asked surprised as she looked down. "You can seriously hear everything that's going on down below us?"

"Yeah. It's not like standing in a loud war against a bunch of screaming toddlers against chimpanzees. It's more like...Standing in a crowded market. Only you can hear what they're saying. Up here it's how I was able to be aware of certain dangers. But everyday. I often hear the calls for help. And I...Can't be in both places. So everyday I have to choose who to save. And see where that gets me." Aiden admitted as he added. "And yet...In this world. I'm only loved when I'm wearing the mask. Despite all my best efforts.."

Aiden nodded. Despite being a comedic nutcase. And a tortured soul. Deep down, Aiden was a true hero.

"I still wonder why I was picked for this ring. All I ever wanted was to finally start my life after I got better. But...It just got suddenly over complicated when I least expected it." Aiden admitted.

He remembered feeling such an amazing amount of joy when he walked out of the hospital and got into his mother's car. At least he could finally start a real life with her.

But instead it was taken. And he doesn't realize a lot more was taken.

"You're probably the only person I'll ever show this to. Especially since my Mom is afraid of heights." Aiden grinned as he needed to avert from the depression. "Is Anna afraid of heights?"

"Are you kidding? Besides meeting a mermaid, she has 'learning how to fly' on her bucket list." Elsa said with a smile.

"Well that's a shame. If she were Acrophobic, she would've been the first on my list." Aiden teased.

"Are you serious?" Elsa asked with a chuckle.

"I'm never serious." Aiden laughed.

"At least until you are." Elsa said teasingly.

Aiden snickered. "Yeah I go serious when the moment calls for it." He admitted as he looked down for a brief second as he heard something and shifted back into the Maverick. "Ready to head back? Anna's looking for us."

"Yeah, we had better. Before she rips the castle apart trying to find us." Elsa said with a giggle.

Maverick nodded as he then flew back down across the sky. While he was holding Elsa close. Elsa sure enjoyed the descent down. As the night sky and the protection of the neon as they re-entered Earth's atmosphere. It was a joyful experience. Something Elsa had never felt before.

Once they made it to the balcony of the castle. Anna had just ran back in as she almost tore the room apart. She was just seconds away to calling the guards when she saw Elsa and Maverick land at Elsa's bedroom balcony.

Anna had her traditional pink tails and was wearing a green short sleave nightgown that ended down above her ankles and was bare foot.

She let out a loud exhale sigh of relief before she ran out to the balcony and cleared her throat with her arms crossed and a raised eyebrow.

As Maverick placed Elsa down. He looked over and saw Elsa's room was still clean. He almost expect Anna to make a mess looking for her sister.

"Oh look. We didn't miss the hurricane." Maverick quipped as Elsa smiled nervously.

"And where have you been?!" Anna demanded with a stern look. "I had just woken up not too long ago, thinking Aiden here might need a midnight snack, but I didn't find him in his room to ask if he liked pink or regular lemonade with his chocolate. Then I went into your bedroom Elsa to see if he was there only to find you not there either so I ran down to see if you two were at the library but you weren't there either. I was about to search the bedroom further until you landed. And now here you are!"

"Okay down puppy." Maverick held his hands out to ease the Princess as he explained. "I was just taking Queen Of the Hills out for a late night flight."

"Yeah, everything was fine... Anna." Elsa said nervously as she noticed the look on her sister's face.

"You both went out flying?" Anna asked calmly with an unsettling gaze. "And you didn't invite me?"

"Well technically I had the course set to zero." Maverick quickly stated as he held his hand out to Anna. "How about an accelerated course?"

In other words, he's got time to invite Anna on a more exciting flight. Something that made Elsa grin. As Anna instantly shifted from mad with concern to gleeful spaz as she went quickly over to Maverick.

"What are we waiting for?! Let's fly!" Anna beamed excitedly, accepting the invitation.

Maverick then took her hand and surrounded Anna with a neon aurora that caused her to float off her feet.

"Woah! I'm floating off the ground! I'm actually gonna fly!" Anna beamed as she laughed with excitement while she hovered above the ground.

"Ok. You two have fun now. Just be careful though." Elsa said with a giggle.

"Don't worry, Queen. I'm crashing into the first mountain I see." Maverick teased before he quickly replied to Elsa's stern look. "Kidding! I kid! Anyhow. 10...9...8...A few other numbers just to stretch this out and...1."

Then Maverick hovered off the air and grabbed Anna's hand. Before he took off fast into the sky. As Anna held her other hand out, feeling the thrills of being in the air with the boy that became her and her sister's friend.

"WOOOOHOOOOO!" Anna cheered and echoed in the air.

Much to the Queen's amazement as she smiled from the balcony watching them. It's official. Even if Aiden won't admit it yet. And Elsa isn't courageous enough to express it to him yet. The boy didn't just become a friend. He became a member of the family. Their family.

Days later after the adoption announcement...

today has been the best day of their whole lives. Not only did Elsa and her family get to step foot onto another world and explore the modern conveniences of Aiden's previous life. But she announced Aiden as her new son. Prince. And the Maverick to her kingdom.

And everyone couldn't be happier to see this. Even her people accepted Aiden despite his appearance and his glowing eyes.

As for Aiden. He needed to adjust to the smaller details. Like being able to sleep at night.

Elsa walked down the hall to Aiden's bedroom, while wearing a blue night gown similar to her purple one. As she quietly opened the door to check on her new adopted son. But she was surprised to see he was not sleeping on the bed. But on the floor!

He was sleeping on the floor with a pillow and blanket. Wearing a pair of Spider-Man Pajamas and matching socks with a blue t shirt.

But sleeping on the floor was unacceptable.

"Aiden." Elsa said softly but firmly as she knelt on the floor and shook him slightly. "Aiden, wake up, Sweetie."

"Mmmgm...I trust my barber." Aiden muttered a quote from the first Spider-Man film.

"Come on, Aiden. Wake up." Elsa said a little more firmly.

Aiden snorted loudly as he jolted awake and grimaced. "Huh? Wha?...Who dat?..." He muttered as his vision cleared to see Elsa. "Mom? What time is it?"

He checked his ring to see it was after 12 AM

"It's late enough that you should be in bed." Elsa said, looking at him sternly. "Why were you on the floor?

"I've spent three years sleeping on the roof. In the woods. In the streets and in ruins or trees. I haven't been in a bed since I left the hospital." Aiden admitted in a tired voice. Which broke Elsa's heart to hear.

Aiden didn't tell a joke this time. If he was awake enough. He probably would've said that it's like sleeping on a marshmallow made of quicksand.

A second later, Elsa pulled Aiden into a hug, holding him close.

"Have you been doing this... Sleeping on the floor, since you came here?" Elsa asked with a soft voice, conveying love and concern for her son.

Aiden slowly nodded as he leaned his head against her chest. A maternal love he needed since day one.

"Every night." Aiden admitted tiredly. "Even when I took you out flying."

"Oh Sweetie." Elsa gasped softly, her heart breaking more as she held him closer. "You're not alone anymore. We'll...I'll help you get through this. From now on, you will always have a home, and a proper place to sleep."

"I know...I just can't seem to adjust to a bed on my own. At least not yet." Aiden said with a mournful tone.

The image of his mother's rotting face is still fresh on his mind. Sometimes at night he forgets his vision. So the Queen thought of the right solution for her son.

"How about I stay with you, while you sleep?" Elsa offered as she gently brushed her fingers through his platinum white hair.

Aiden looked up at Elsa with wonder in his eyes. As they slowly stopped glowing like they always do. Much to Elsa's surprise. But she only kept smiling.

"Only if you can spare the time." Aiden asked in a small voice.

"I've got the time for you, my little spark." Elsa said with a warm smile as she helped him stand back up.

Then Elsa helped fix his bed back up. She helped Aiden back on it who collapsed in the covers with his eyes barely open. And then Elsa got into bed with him and covered each other as she wrapped her arms around her boy and held him close.

Failing to stifle another yawn, Aiden snuggled slightly to be a bit more comfortable.

The Queen smiled when she saw Aiden's fingers glow a bit under the tips from his neon power, as he relaxed and closed his eyes.

'He looks so precious...' Elsa thought as she kept stroking the boy's platinum white hair lovingly, She noticed it helped relax him. She made a note to keep that in mind because it could be handy.

The Queen never had a toddler. So she'll do certain things to Aiden when they're alone. Which Aiden doesn't mind. He missed this feeling truly.

"Is this payment for taking you out for a ride?" Aiden whispered with a grin as he was reminded of the flight they took days ago.

"Well, you took me to fly to the stars. So now, I'm taking you in to finally live under our roof, as a family." Elsa smiled softly as she gave his cheek a motherly kiss.

Aiden felt good in Elsa's arms. Her cold skin felt warm against his. There was a time he could feel her chilly skin whenever they hugged. But now they both shared the same blood. Her maternal love is warm.

Something Aiden yearned for. He finally had his mother back. Now and forever. Through the blessing Amelia Nelson gave to Elsa.

Elsa began to softly hum the tune to 'All Is Found'. The lullaby that The Queen's mother sang to her and Anna as children. Aiden would've preferred 'Rainbow Connections', but that's okay. This song isn't that bad. He'll show her that song later.

For now. This is more than rewarding for the boy.

"I love you, Aiden." Elsa whispered softly as she held him close and gave the side of his forehead a kiss.

Aiden didn't respond as he was already fast asleep. Elsa smiled warmly down at him before she got comfortable and held her son close. Before she fell asleep as well.

Anna had the same idea to check on Aiden before she opened the door quietly and could help but just smile quietly at the sight.

'Aww. That's so adorable.' Anna thought in her head, gushing at the sight.

This is just what she liked to see. The Princess almost wanted to join them for a snuggle party. But she figured Aiden needed to adjust to his new life.

Maybe next time.

And so Anna quietly closed the door. And went back to her bedroom with a genuine smile on her face. Aiden has brought so much joy to her sister and her family. And she swears to be the best aunt ever.

And they all swear to take Aiden's new life flying high. Pun intended.

THAT'S ALL FOR NOW FOLKS! 🎉🎉🎉

As a toddler we've all loved those moments of falling asleep in a mother's warm arms. For Aiden, he missed three years of this. So this was long overdue for him.

And it sure does feel good to go back to where it all started. 😊

I have a few other ideas in store for next time. And I haven't forgotten that idea to introduce Victoria's first birthday celebration. 😉

I hope everyone enjoyed this one shot!
