Chapter 1 Won't Sit Around and Cry
An's POV
I was nervously hiding behind a wall in Vivid Street.
"What's wrong, An", Nagi asked as she kneeled down besides me.
"I'm scared, Nagi-San", I replied. "I've never sung in front of this many people before. What if I mess up and embarrass myself?"
"Don't be ridiculous", Nagi reassure. "I'm sure that you'll do great!"
"R…really", I asked.
"Of course", Nagi replied. "Plus, I'll be right besides you the whole time, An."
With that, Nagi held out her hand to me.
I was about to grab it, but before I could…the dream ended.
I opened my eyes, and found myself in my bed.
"Nagi-San", I said softly.
Then…tears started falling from my eyes, but I quickly sat up and shook them away.
"No", I exclaimed. "Nagi-San didn't just sit around and cry! I have to do the same!"
…
I rushed into the kitchen/dining room, where I saw my parents.
"Morning, An", my dad greeted.
"Morning, Dad", I greeted. "Morning, Mom."
"An", my mom started, before suddenly grabbing onto my hands. "How are you feeling?"
"I'm feeling fine, mom", I reassured.
"Are you sure, An", my mom asked. "Remember what I said. It's okay to cry."
"I've done enough crying", I stated. "Now it's time to focus on moving forward!"
"An…", my mom started.
"I better get going, or I'm going to be late for school", I quickly said, interrupting my mom. "See you guys later!"
With that…I rushed out the door before my parents could say anything else.
…
I had arrived at the locker room, where I found Akito and Toya.
"Morning guys", I greeted.
"Morning, Shiraishi-San", Toya greeted.
"Hey, An", Akito greeted. "You feeling okay?"
"I'm feeling fine", I reassured. "Anyway, you guys wanna meet up at Weekend Garage after school? We need to discuss what we're going to do going forward!"
"We can", Toya replied. "But, are you sure you're okay to do that?"
"It hasn't been that long since you found out the truth about Nagi-San", Akito added. "You sure you don't want to take a break or something?"
"No way", I replied. "Nagi-San didn't sit around and mope. Instead, she did as much as she could with the time she had left. So I'm gonna do the same!"
"Yeah", Akito started. "But…"
"I have to get to class", I interrupted. "I'll see you guys later at Weekend Garage."
With that, I left without hearing what Akito had to say.
…
After school, we all met up at Weekend Garage.
"Alright", I started. "We've gotta figure out what we're going to do about surpassing RAD WEEKEND. Does anybody have any ideas?"
"I believe that our first course of action should be to convince the others to help us again", Toya suggested.
"But how do we do that", Akito asked.
"Dad", I started. "Do you have any ideas?"
"I think what you need to do is show everyone that you still have your resolve to surpass RAD WEEKEND", my dad replied.
"But how do we do that", Kohane asked.
"Why don't we do a performance", I suggested. "It doesn't have to be anything big, but it'll show everyone that we're not giving up!"
"That's a good idea", Akito said. "But, are you sure you're up to perform, An."
"Yes", I replied. "Nagi-San believed in me. I can't let her down!"
