Chapter 3 Let You Down
An's POV
I was at Weekend Garage with my dad.
"Where is everyone", he asked.
"They've all got other plans today", I revealed.
"Is that so" my dad asked. "In that case, I think I'm going to close up the café early today."
"Huh", I said in confusion. "How come?"
"Far starters, it's pretty much empty today", my dad pointed out. "Plus, there's somewhere I've been wanting to take you to for some time now."
…
We arrived at the place my dad wanted to take me to…which was a cemetery.
We walked through the cemetery until we reached a specific grave.
Once we got there, I took a closer look at the grave stone…and spotted Nagi's name carved into it.
When I did, I wanted to burst out crying, but I managed to hold back my tears.
"Hey, Nagi", my dad greeted. "Look who I've finally brought. She's grown up into the person you said she would, so I told her the truth, and I brought her here."
After my dad said this, he turned to look at me.
"Is there anything that you want to say, An", he asked.
"Yeah", I replied.
Then, I looked at the grave, and took a deep breath.
Afterwards, I walked up to the stone…before kneeling down in front of it.
"Hey, Nagi-San", I greeted. "It's me. I…I finally know the truth about what happened to you."
After I said this…the tears started falling.
"Why, Nagi", I asked. "Why didn't you tell me the truth? Why didn't you say goodbye?!"
After I asked this, I wiped away my tears.
"I'm sorry", I apologized. "There's no point in crying about that now. You're gone, but…my memory of you isn't."
After I said this, I looked up at the stone.
"Taiga-Ojisan doesn't believe that my group can surpass RAD WEEKEND", I revealed. "But, you believed in me, Nagi-San. So, I can't give up! We're going to surpass RAD WEEKEND no matter what!"
After I said this, I stood up.
"I'll go further than you could, Nagi-San", I stated. "I promise."
The Next Day
The day of our performance had finally arrived!
Currently, we were in Vivid Street with an audience waiting for us.
"This is it", I said. "Is everybody ready?"
"Yeah", Akito replied. "But, An, are you sure you're ready for this?"
"It's too late to go back now", I stated. "We have an audience waiting for us. Come on! Let's go!"
With that, I rushed into position. The rest of my group followed soon after.
I took a look at the audience, and saw that our teammates that had given up were watching.
I then took a deep breath before beginning to speak.
"Hello, everyone", I greeted. "Thank you so much for coming out to see us today!"
"We're Vivid BAD SQUAD", Kohane said. "And we hope you all enjoy our performance!"
"Is everyone ready", Toya asked, which resulted in the audience cheering.
"Then let's get going", Akito said.
"Right", I said. "Start the music!"
With that, we got into position. Then, the music began playing.
Our performance started off great. However, things soon took a turn for the worse.
When my turn to sing came…I suddenly froze up.
(Crap! Why can't I move? Why can't I sing?!)
When my group noticed what had happened, they stopped performing as well.
"Shiraishi-San", Toya said.
"An", Akito said.
"An-Chan", Kohane exclaimed before rushing up to me. "What's wrong?"
I didn't answer. Instead, I kept trying to move my body.
(Come on! Move! Sing! Do something! You have to! Nagi-San believed in you!)
But no matter how much I tried, I couldn't get my body to move.
The music suddenly stopped. Then, my dad rushed up to me and put his hands on my shoulders.
"An", he said in concern. "Are you okay? What happened?"
"I…", I started. "I…"
As I was struggling to find the words to say, I heard the audience begin to whisper.
"Poor, An", somebody said. "She pushed herself to hard."
"Indeed", another person agreed. "She clearly isn't ready for this."
"Maybe this is just too much for her."
After I heard this, I looked up to see our teammates.
They looked disappointed. Then, they began leaving.
"Wait", I exclaimed. "Come back!"
But it was too late, as they were already gone.
I then turned around to look my group.
"Shiraishi-San."
"An."
"An-Chan."
"You guys", I said, as tears started falling from my eyes. "I…I'm…"
Before I could finish, I turned around…and I ran away.
I heard everybody call out my name, but I just continued to run.
(I let everyone down. I'm sorry guys. I'm sorry, Nagi-San.)
