Chapter 4 Always Here for You
Ken's POV

The Next Day

"I'm back", I greeted as I walked into my house.

"Welcome home", Yuka greeted as she walked up to me.

"How is she", I asked.

"She's barely come out of her room all day", Yuka replied.

Then, I sighed sadly before sitting on the couch.

"I was worried that something like this would happen", I revealed. "I could tell that An was pushing herself to get back to performing as soon as possible. But because she did, I think she didn't give herself time to properly process the news of Nagi's death."

"I think you're right", Yuka agreed. "Do you think she'll be okay?"

"She's a strong girl", I reassured. "She'll be okay. Still, I feel useless just sitting around while my daughter is going through a lot."

After I said this, Yuka began thinking.

"I know", she said suddenly. "Tomorrow is Father's Day! Why don't you two go out and do something together?"

"That's a good idea", I said. "But, you sure she's up for something like that?"

"It wouldn't hurt to ask", Yuka replied. "Plus, maybe getting out will do her some good?."

"You have a point", I said, before getting off the couch. "I'll go ask her about it."

An's POV

I was lying in bed, staring at my phone. I had to silence it because of all the calls and messages my group had been sending me, but I couldn't bring myself to answer any of them. Not after I let my team down.

While I was lying in bed, there was a knock at my door.

"Can I come in", I heard my dad ask.

"Yeah", I replied.

Then, I sat up as my dad walked into my room.

"Hey there", he greeted, before sitting down on the edge of my bed. "You know, tomorrow's Father Day, so I was wondering if you wanted to go on an outing with me?"

"I'm not sure if I'm really in the mood for that", I replied.

"I know", my dad said. "But, your mom thinks it'll be good for you to get out, and so do I."

After my dad said this, I began thinking about it.

"Okay", I replied. "I'll go."

The Next Day

My dad and I were on our outing. I wasn't in the mood to think of anything to do, so he suggested that we take a walk through the park.

As we were walking, I suddenly noticed something.

A little girl was playing with her big sister. When I saw this…tears started forming in my eyes.

I tried holding them back. Then, my dad grabbed onto my shoulders, so I looked up at him.

"It's okay, An", he reassured. "Cry as much as you need to."

After my dad said this, I let the tears fall.

Then, my dad pulled me into a hug as I began to fully cry.

"There you go", he said as he rubbed my head. "Let it out, honey. Let it all out."

"Dad", I sobbed. "When is it going to stop hurting?"

After I asked this, my dad pulled away to look at me.

"An", he started. "The reason why it hurts so much, is because you loved Nagi so much."

After my dad said this, my cries became even louder.

Then, my dad pulled me back into the hug.

"Nagi-San", I cried out. "Nagi-San!"

"It's okay, An", my dad reassured. "I'm here. I'm here."

After my dad said this, I looked up at him.

"Dad", I started. "Thank you so much for always being there for me."

After I said this, my dad smiled at me.

"Of course", he said. "I'll always be here for you, An."
