The Daily Lives of The Owl Familia: P2 Hooty's Wild Ride…Aftermath

Summary: Lilith had to deal with the aftermath of Steve taking the house demon out for some fun.

Timeline: A few hours after Camila and Vee moved to the Demon Realm

When Lilith answered the door, this wasn't what she was expecting; a scout accompanying Hooty and Steve. The former coven head cocked an eyebrow when she saw how her dear friend looked.

Hooty was covered in ash, turning his usual brown feathers a gray-white. Even more strange was his face; the ash was so dark that it made it like the house demon had a black beard.

"Hi, LuLu," Hooty said, in a deep voice, "I messed up."

Lilith sighed and looked at the scout. "May I ask what they did?"

The scout took out a notepad and began listing off the crimes the two did. "Blaring loud music as they drove by a retirement home during naptime-"

Steve and Hooty hanged their heads in shame as the scout continued.

"-Throwing paint bombs at the old guard building. Drag racing with a couple of ratworms that cause them to collide with a large wagon of phoenix's ashes."

"I got caught up in the thrill of the ride," Steve mumbled shamefully.

"-And it ended with a wild stunt that resulted in the beheading of the Emperor's statue in Bonesborough's town square," the scout finished and put away his notepad. "The statue and the others offenses, I can look the other way; they were just pretty offenses. However, there's something I can't let go so easily."

Lilith noticed how dark the scout's face got and decided it was best to defuse whatever was about to happen.

"Before you continue, I feel it needed that you talk to the landlord of Steve Tholomule," Lilith spoke calmly and then turned into the house. "Edalyn! There's someone who wishes to speak with you. It involves your tenant!

There was a loud groan from within the house, and Eda came to the front door with the Familia behind her. When the ex-wild witch saw the guard and Steve, she groaned again.

"Aw farts, I knew this would come back to bite me," Eda muttered sourly. "So, what's he in for?"

Lilith decided to leave when the scout began to list off the charges again. She grabbed her dear friend and retreated into the house. They reached the second floor when she heard her sister scream in a mix of surprise and impressment.

"HE RODE OVER SEVERAL FEET OF GRASS!? EVEN I'M NOT THAT HARDCORE!"

Lilith shook her head as she reached the bathroom. She served Belos for years, yet she never truly understood why he didn't like people stepping on the grass.

But that was in the past. Lilith set Hooty on the toilet. She got the things needed to clean her friend while Hooty was strangely quiet.

"Sorry, LuLu," Hooty remorsefully said as Lilith began to clean the ash off her friend.

Lilith smiled as she wiped the black ash from Hooty's face. "I'm not mad if that's what worrying you."

Hooty looked Lilith in the eyes and smiled wide. That smile shrunk a little when he noticed the scolded look in Lilith's eyes.

"However, I do feel like some words are needed," Lilith added with a motherly scolding tone.

Hooty's smile faded, and he looked down at the floor in shame. Lilith smiled warmly and cupped her dear friend's face with her hands. She gently lifted Hooty's face so the two were marking eye contact.

"Like I said, dear Hootsifer, I'm not mad," Lilith said softly, "But you must remember you're part of a family. And as such, you need to remember we're here for you, even if we are far away."

Hooty looked at Lilith, and she saw some of his regrets fade. Lilith's smile grew ever-so-slightly at this sight.

"And, as part of a family, we worry about you," The ex-head spoke softly. "I'm not discouraging enjoying yourself when you need to lift your spirits. All I want from you is to take care of yourself. Can you do that for me?"

"For you, LuLu, I will walk through the boiling seas," Hooty chirped, a wild smile on his face.

Lilith giggled as she went back to clearing her dear friend. Hooty began to hum to himself as Lilith went about her task. Lilith giggled under her breath as she thought that Hooty was like a child at the moment, and that gave her an idea.

"Hoofsifer, how do you feel about being rejuvenated?"

Well, witches and demons, you now know how Belos lost his head for a second time. And if you get the reference I sneak in, you're a true CRF.
Steve (Breaking through the fourth wall in a panic): You want to knock down HOOTY? EVEN I'M NOT THAT HARDCORE!
Me (Watching Steve break through another section of the fourth wall screaming): Why did I think changing my interdimensional locks would keep him out for long?
