Chapter 1

It's gone from One to a Ten!

Earth. Fire. Air. Water. When I was a boy, my father, Avatar Aang, told me how he and his friends heroically ended the Hundred Year War. Avatar Aang and Fire Lord Zuko transformed the Fire Nation colonies into the United States Republic of Nations. In this society, benders and non-benders from all over the world could live and thrive together in peace and harmony. They named the capital of this great land Republic City. Avatar Aang accomplished many remarkable things in his life, but sadly, his time in this world ended. And like the cycle of the seasons, the cycle of the Avatar began anew. Though sometimes a new age must begin, while the world must change the stars can change it all for worse or better.

The past is the soil.

Deep within the heart of Republic City, today was a rainy day, rain was pouring onto the streets. The concrete street. A police automobile cruised by the streets, as the office inside calmly drove on the wet roads. Her dark black hair was in net style, she wore a metal-like armor that hugged her body. Her white skin is white accompanied by green eyes. She had a scar on her right cheek. She drove through the wet streets on patrol, her radio ready for any call. She took a long, sad sigh. It was only a couple of years ago her mother retired from being the chief of police. Her sister was off to explore the world, while she was still here, not to mention her boyfriend had dumped her a month ago. Though she held a stoic look it was all hard for Lin Beifong. She stopped at a traffic light. Taking a long sigh she laid her head on the steering wheel. Lin knew what her goal was to be the chief of police and not make the same mistakes her mother made. She raised her head and saw the light was green. She was about to put her foot on the gas pedal but stopped when she noticed a small figure standing in her way. She had to wipe the fog in the car to get a clear site of what was in front of the vehicle, her eye widen in surprise as a child drenched from the rain.

He was 5 years old, his green eyes lifeless and sad. He wore ragged clothes that were too big for him. His skin is pale, unhealthy white, and his long black hair was messy and stained with garbage. The poor boy only looked at the car like a deer in headlights. Lin immediately got out of the car, and the more she got closer to him signs of starvation showed on the boy.

The boy had a scared look on his face and gave a sad eye to Lin.

"Please, my mom needs help." He asked, his voice broken and sad. Lin knew she had to call this in but not that many would come for the homeless. Luckily she wasn't one of them. Lin kneels to the boy's eyes and meets his sacred gaze.

The sad brown eyes gave away wanting her to help him. The feeling of hopelessness was wiped away from the child. Lin gave a strong but gentle look.

"Where's your mother?" She asked calmly. The boy gripped her hand and pulled her into a deserted alleyway. The boy pointed down the alleyway to a makeshift metal shake. He quickly ran away from Lin.

"Wait, hold on." Lin gave chase to the boy. The child rushed into the alley and forced his hands on the metal door, cutting his hands. Lin carefully walked into the shelter, she could hear the raindrops bounce off the metal roof, the wind blowing and shaking the walls, while the smell of rancid flooded her nostrils.

Her police training would never let her guard down but she stopped in track seeing the boy kneeling by an older woman, she had long black hair, and skin too pale and wore bagging clothing, she lay lifeless on the cold floor. Her eye was closed. The boy sat by her side and gently pushed on her shoulders.

"Mommy I found a police person, she can help you." The women remained motionless. Lin gave an audible gasp. The boy looked at her seeing how she looked disturbed. The boy didn't understand and kept trying to wake his mother. He pushed her shoulder stirring the body but she still remained unresponsive.

"Mom." He whispered, not understanding what was happening in front of him. Lin gently knelt down by the child's side and put an arm trying to comfort him.

"Mom, wake up." Lin slowly stood up and found the sense to be heartbreaking.

"Come on Mom, wake up the police are here to help, you said they would help." He cried in a broken voice. Never in her career that she had to handle this. It was new, and she knew she had to be gentle. Lin gently guided his hands off the body. Then in a swift motion, she hoisted up the children. Obviously, he struggled against her grip, but the boy thought It was more of a hug.

"Let me go, my mom is just sleeping, let me go." He cried out. Lin didn't speak but held him close. She gently put two fingers on her the women's neck, she felt no pulse.

"MOM! Please, she said, she was cold." Lin only kept moving as she bended the metal door away. The metal slowly bent open to make an entrance for them. The rain soaked the two but Lin kept a steady pace. The boy made no attempt to escape, he felt weak and was shivering. Lin walked out of the alley and gently pushed him into the backseat. Lin gently knelt on the wet ground. The boy looked terrified and wanted to go back to the metal shed. Lin Beifong took a deep breath and gently looked at the boy. She was genuinely surprised at how willing he was to let her take them away.

"Hello, my name is Chief Beifong. What's your name? I want to know what happened." She asked. The boy was sobbing but he still spoke.

"My- name- is Ube, and- and- and my mom was cold but couldn't fire bend- and I can't- so she was cold, then- then, sh-sh- told me to find the police to- help her." He kept sobbing and tried to keep himself calm. The tears kept pouring from his eyes. Lin stayed calm and gave the boy a happy nod. Lin let her

"Ube, that's a fun name." Lin said.

"Is-Is my mom gonna be okay." Lin gave a sad sigh and pinched the bridge of her nose. She put on a trying smile. "I'll call some people and they will come to pick up your mother."

"Okay," Ube murmured. Lin slowly closed the door and Ube sat down on the leather car seat. Lin pulled up her radio in the front seat and called in the black box.

"Lin to dispatch we have a casualty on W. Turtle Dove Alley. Please send someone." Lin took a long sigh and carefully looked into the rear mirror seeing Ube patiently waiting. Lin didn't know what to do; she was never good with children. What would she even say, things like this weren't her forte. Ube gave soft sniffles, Lin could see he didn't understand what was going on, he looked lost and confused. Lin decided to give it a shot, maybe something to ease off his mind.

"Is there something you like to do, where's your father?" She asked.

"I don't have a father," Ube said. "I don't have any family besides my mom."

Lin only found his story more heartbreaking, not to mention the child protection program in this city was awful. There was no way he was going to find a good home. Lin didn't want to send the kid there but what choice did she have? Lin took a frustrated sigh but made sure it was quiet so that he would not hear it. Ube was so tired from it all that he was, cold, hungry, and just wanted to see his mom.

"Hey kid, are you sure you have-" Lin glanced in the mirror to see the boy was slowly starting to fall asleep. Lin noticed the rain stopped and began to think, the street was a harsh future and Lin was alone. She was now responsible for this boy's very fate. Lin looked up at the night sky. What was she supposed to do? Lin turned around to see Ube passed out in the car seat. As the boy was a twig.

Then an idea sparks in her head, it was stupid but maybe it was the right choice.

"What a girl like me got to do."

Our story might not have a happy beginning but out of very tragic circumstances, a miracle soon blooms into the world.

Twelve years later…

It was another day in Republic City, this time bright and sunny, with many folks walking to jobs or doing other things. Though one walked through the cowards with smiles. Though one walked in the cowards, he wore a gray long shirt and black puffy pants. He was a young Asian teenager with white skin and black messy hair, though it was in a style, rather than unkept, and his green eyes were certainly sparkling today. He was happily walking on the streets. While he did have a brown sack slung over his back. The person was lost in his own world, he heard a trolly pass by.

"Maybe I should have taken the trolley, No if I did that then I wouldn't be able to get my morning workout." He thought. He passed by a couple of kids earth bending, they tossed a rock to each other. He always thought bending was amazing, the idea of having an element at your very command was beyond words. Though he had to focus on getting to the police station he was carrying something important and only the chief of police had to see it.

While walking he passed an alleyway, he gave no mind to it but stopped walking when he heard a loud thud and a man crying in pain. He should just walk away and let the police handle it. When he took his next step he heard the man crying for help.

"Please someone help!" cried from the alleyway. He stopped and took a sad sigh.

"Please someone help me." None of the people walking by that alleyway entrance did anything, turning their heads away and making sure they weren't a part of it.

"Well pick your battles wisely." He soon walked into the alleyway seeing how a giant man towered over him, he wore a set of brown clothes but the most defining feature was the black dragon tattoo on his face, he was holding out his hand that had a ball of fire on it. There was another scrawny man on the ground cowering before him.

"Stop making trouble and empty your pockets, now!" The thug yelled.

The teen hid his bag in a dumpster that was by his side. He recognized the dude hustling the small man. Jin backslash low-down crook and scoundrel. He was going to make sure he did this right.

"Hey, Jin!" He yelled and joined his attention toward him. The scrawny man saw his chance and ran from the alley. Jin didn't notice until it was too late.

"Dammit!" The thug frustratingly yelled.

The teenager gave a cocky smile. "What all I was just gonna say is your shoes untied."

Then in the next moments would be a blur as Jin slammed his fist into the teen, locking him out cold. He was passed out and Jin ran from the alley to catch the guy. Leaving the teen knocked out.

After a couple of minutes passed, the teen woke up, rubbed his aching head, and darted his eyes to see no one was around. He slowly staggered to his feet. He looked around the dumpster to see his bag was untouched. He slowly picked up the bag and walked out of the alley.

"Why did I do that?" He thought. "I could have just walked away but I did that."

He popped his neck and slung his sack over his left shoulder. It was just something engraved in his very soul, not wanting to see anyone suffer, or injustice being dealt. He would always stick his head in others' business. Maybe his head was on too tight or maybe rock was in his shoes. Walking down the street he started to notice, some people gazing at him. He wonders why but he just needs to deliver someone's lunch. After a couple of long walks down the streets, he reached the police station. It was a five-story building, with bright, white columns, holding up the front while three doors were opened to the public. As he walked through the door seeing many metal benders officers doing their jobs, the teen could see the check-in desk, he walked up there seeing a man working on a typewriter.

"Hey, I'm here to drop off the chef's lunch." He said, the front desk guy looked up and winced at him.

"What is with everyone today?" he thought, the front deck guy pointed towards the right saying it was okay for him to go inside. He walked through the detective's lounge and could see the chief's office door. There was gold writing on the door, "Chief Beifong." He walked up to the door and gave it a knock.

"Come in." An older woman's voice calls out. A much older Lin with gray hair sat down at her desk and paperwork stacked on her desk, she glanced up to see who was at the door. She had a calm expression on her face and simply pulled out a pen and paper.

"Hello, Ube, how was your walk?" She said calmly though he could see she was clearly bothered by something.

"Hi Mom, I bought your lunch, I noticed you forgot your meal at home," Ube said. He sat it on her desk. Lin gave a strong glare at him.

"You still haven't answered my question yet." She asked. Ube held a nervous face, he never was a good liar. It's probably one of his key details about himself.

"Well, it was nice, why do you ask?" Ube said. Lin then just straight to her left eye.

"Just wondering how you got your black eye." Lin said, pulling out her lunch from the bag. Ube turned to his right, he knew there was a mirror in the room and could see a big shiner on his left eye.

"Aw, man no wondering people were looking at me."

Ube relaxed there was no point in lying anymore he had to face the music. He took the other seat in the room.

"I saw somebody getting mugged and I-."

"Simply told him his shoes untied, and the guy escaped." Lin finished his sentence. Already knowing the routine. She gave a loud sigh and pulled out a pen and paper.

"So what did he look like?" Ube gave a tired smile.

"She knows me too well." He thought but still was calm this wasn't the first time, it surely wouldn't be his last.

"Jin Backslash is out on the streets, I think he's failing on his parole." Ube pointed out. Lin pulled a file and opened it to show Jin's mug shot.

"Yep and now we have probable cause to lock him up." Lin said she then reached and pulled an eye pack from her mini fridge in the office and threw it to Ube. He gently put the pack on his face.

"Ow! Oh man that stings." He said.

"That's what you get when you mess with bender sweat hearts they think they own the world. Also, I'm a grown woman you don't have to cook my lunches and give them to me." She said in fast pace city talk. Ube laughed at his mom's comments.

"Oh, and what's on your dinner menu today, takeout for the 100th time." Ube said in a joking tone. Lin scoffed at him but still held concern for her son's well-being. She walked from her deck and put a hand on her son's shoulder.

"You need to stop doing this to yourself, you aren't a bender, you don't train and you're not invincible." Lin said.

Ube adverted her gaze he knew she was going to half a sad look and he hated making his mother sad.

"Ube, look you're a good person but one day you'll get yourself killed, I don't want this to happen again." Lin said in a strict tone of voice. Ube nodded but smiled.

"Well, at least I can cook your meals." He said. Lin shocked her head.

"Ube I'm a grown woman I can make my own lunch." She said, Ube stood up and gave a nod.

"Well I got to go work, I'll see you at home." Before he could open the door. Lin put a firm hand on his shoulder.

"Thank you and stay safe out there." Lin said, with that Ube left the room and left a very pissed mom to find a criminal suspect who just assaulted his son. She sat down at her desk thinking about her only adoptive son. Ube was always a kind and good kid, she really got lucky as a parent to have such a good kid. Not to mention he was a cooking genius, when she would work long cases or overtime when she came home, he always made food for her even when he was little. Lin wished he would stop thinking of others for once and think about himself.

Ube had walked into the coward city, still walking past the tall buildings, though he came up to a small building, a large mountain of steam came to form the vents of the building. The front of the building had a large window open, a cashier stood on the other side. Wearing a chief's uniform, while he wore a white cooking cap. The building was called the billboard and said "the happy dragon." Ube didn't mind his job, the pay was good and the folk was nice, he would always try his best. Though didn't want to work there forever he had no place higher to go in mind. He took a long sigh and started his long shift, throughout the day only one thought kept piling up in his mind, how could he help others, when had no power to do anything? Sometimes he wished that he was the avatar, one would think it was an odd wish, wanting to have all that responsibility on your shoulders but to him, it would mean the world knowing he could look out for all those people.

He could see a line was building up and working faster. While a long day of hard work had ended. The night had set upon the city, the lights of the city lit up the night, in a dazzling display. People still walked the streets of the unsleeping city. Automobiles honked on the street while the rich enjoyed the delights of the city. The work whistle blew letting, and Ube walked through the city holding his head up, he always had to stay on the positive. If he was gonna take a walk back home he was gonna do the scenic route. Walking the scenic route meant going through the park, after crossing a couple of crosswalks and jaywalking some. Ube was near the park seeing the stone entrance. He looked at the night sky seeing the many stars out tonight.

Meanwhile Deep in space.

A gray spaceship that was shaped in a very peculiar manner, being mostly horizontal but with a ring surrounding the back of the ship, seemingly acting both as thrusters and landing gear. It is navy blue with some components being green. While it sailed through space on its way to its special destination.

Soon another vessel appeared behind lurking out of the shadows of deep space. It was brown in color with orange egg-like constructs all around, used to accent the body and some used as portholes. Shape-wise, it resembles a taser, with two long extended pieces constantly generating orange electricity between them. Its back end features a propulsion system that resembles wires holding a ball of red energy.

The brown ship blasts a beam into the vessel. The gray ship ended up having serious damage done to the ender part of the ship. The vessel rustle in the cold abyss and in those dire times, serious choice are made, and the ship blasts a small metal orb into cold dark space. unbeknownst to the two parties on each vessel. The orb was heading toward a blue planet, mostly covered in water while many Earth continents littered the surface of the world.

The orb was starting to pick up motion as it came into contact with the atmosphere of the planet. The orb started to pick up friction and soon became a ball of fire.

He walked in Republic city park. The green grassy fields shone in the moonlight, while the cherry trees blossomed showing that spring was coming to a close soon. He walked wanting nothing more than to just enjoy his surroundings, though did know all this indulging scenery, may earn a slight scolding but he did want to see the trees tonight. He walked over a white park bridge. Seeing that there was a street lamp, illuminating a white bench. He sat down took a big sigh, and gently touched his bruised eye, wincing at the pain. He lowered his head in shame. He took a sad sigh. He was powerless, sure he was lean and in shape but never had the confidence to fight anyone.

He looked up at the night sky seeing how many stars were out tonight and gazed at their beauty. If he couldn't fight that was good enough for him, but he could always make a tasty meal for others. Though he still wished he could do more.

As he stood up he noticed one of the stars was moving and getting brighter. His eye widen in joy it was the first shooting star he's ever seen. He felt a bit silly but maybe he could make a wish.

Then he could see the star was getting a bit brighter. Then the shooting star turned dictation and was getting closer.

"Uh that's funny it kinda looks like it turned." Ube said out loud only to realize, that the star was getting very bright. He then relaxed it was heading right towards him at an alarming speed, now seeing a ball of fiery death and towards his way.

Ube screamed as he tried to run away but a ball of fire rushed over his head and crashed into a grassy hill, shaking the area, birds flew out of their trees, squirrels ran in the open, and one homeless man ran out from the bushes in a panic. Ube was knocked to the ground and rolled across the sidewalk. The street lights went out in the park and automobiles.

He slowly got up to his feet and could see the park was in the dark. He looked up in surprise to see an alluring green light, shown over the hill.

"What is that?" He said out loud, he took a nervous glub and ventured over the hill. Each step he took scared him but he kept pushing forward. The green light slowly died down.

When he finally made it over the hill, he could see a large crater. While the bright fire illuminated the area. His eyes latched onto the shiny metal ball.

"I should probably wait for the cop to show." He thought thinking what his mother would say, and yet that glow was so alluring. What could this be? He had so many questions. Glancing around seeing no one or hearing any sirens,

He takes a deep sigh, turns around, and holds a stoic expression. "if anyone should handle this it's the proper authorities." Before he could make the first step the ground he stood on gave way. Ube fell backward tumbling down the crater side, he ended up scraping himself on the way down and with a mother thud hit the ground.

He slowly got up to his feet and tried to hold himself up on whatever was around. His hand felt the cold skin of metal. Gazing at what he just touched, he backed away as the orb had split into two, and a lot of steam rushed out of the opening.

"What is that?" Ube asked he moved up to his feet

The green light faded away, to show a watch lying on a silver pedestal, it was gray and black with a dial in the middle, on the top of the dial an hourglass shape. A primordial feeling of curiosity spoke within to reach for it. Wondering what kind of rare item he stumbles upon. His hand slowly reached for the watch.

The mere moment his hand came into its space the watch jumped off the and moved in such a way it mimics a living creature, the watch had snuck under clothes and launched itself onto his wrist.

Ube panicked and tried to rip it off, though the watch was deep in his right arm. He tried desperately to pull it off. After minutes of struggling Ube shook his head angry realizing it was not coming off. He tried to grab it again when his hand hit a button on the side of the watch. The dial to the watch popped up, the dial began to glow green as a strange silhouette appeared on the face of it. Ube slowly starts to push down on the face.

"What does-" he was cut off mid-sentence when he pushed down all the way, as a green light blinded him. The next few seconds became absolutely life-changing, he felt his bones shift, and his skin rips apart. Though he was nowhere in pain. He closed his eyes feeling his own body change. He was still standing his eyes were still closed and but he felt alright, heck evening The stinging of his eye was gone.

"Woah I feel different!" He said but not in his voice. It was more high-pitched and slimy. "My voice." He said in a panic, then he looked down to see his hands were green and made of thick green slime, only having three fingers. He stood now six feet tall while gazing at his new liquid form. Seeing an hourglass symbol on his chest.

"Ah! What am I!" Ube yelled in panic. He could hear a hovering sound above him. To see a strange little object hovering over his head. His clear green eyes widened in shock.

"Ahaaaa scary metal spirit!" Ube tried to run from it the object but it quickly followed, never breaking its spot above him. He kept running wildly in fright but didn't need to breathe; for he had no lungs. Though he wasn't suffocating, this was a new state of being and Ube was freaking out.

"SOMEONE HELP-" Ube was cut off when his head ran into a tree branch, the branch passed through his viscous body, while leaving the branch covered in the green smile. He stopped panicking and tried to think calmly.

"Okay Im fine, this is fine, I'm just a living pile of goop." He said. He began to calm down and looked at himself wondering what he was even the thing that flew upon him felt like it was a part of him. Ube gazed at his hands seeing no bones in his body. He wonder what would happen now, what would he tell his mother. He was an outcast now and people would call him a monster.

A twig snapped focusing his attention, behind him. The green slime looked to the ground seeing a small red sparrow chick crying to go back to its nest. He realized he was the one who hit this tree. Ube slowly reached to pick up the baby bird in his hand. He gently made sure not to hurt the poor creature. He shifted his head around to see the nest was knocked out and by his slimy feet.

He wanted to fix this, he reached his arm above him only for his arms to pass the branch. His slime arms were a couple of feet above the tree. His eyes widen as his arms stretched over the nest, felt panic but kept calm not wanting to cause the gentle creature in his hands any harm. He narrowed his eyes and gently put the soft bird back in its nest.

His arm stretched back to normal; well normal as he could get in his situation. Ube gazed at his hand, wondering what else could he do, he looked at his hand and balled his fist. He could feel how his own mind saying what to do next almost testing his own capabilities. His hand formed into a smooth ball. Ube was astounded as he totals control over his body, shaping his hand into stars, hammers, and even a boat. He let out a happy giggle which made his whole body shake.

It was then he heard the police sirens coming closer to him. Ube ran from the police hoping they wouldn't catch them, he wanted to go home and keep himself locked in his room until this was all of this was over. Even if this was amazing he was still sacred inside of what he was.

He ran out of the park, he of course knew of the backways and he would do his best to stay out of others' visions. Unfortunately, he forgot to recall that there was Saturday night traffic. He quickly ran by automobiles and accidentally may have knocked some side mirrors off.

He could hear the screams of people as he ran by. Pointing and shouting in awe, confusion, and most importantly terror. He could hear it but just wanted to go back home. He took a short in an alleyway.

"Get home." was all that was repeated in his mind. He stepped in puddles, kicked trash cans, and felt intensely bad about it.

"I'm so sorry," he said out loud. He was about to take a sharp left when he heard voices echoing from that direction. He stopped moving and slammed his gelatinous body to the wall. He peeked his head out of the corner.

It was Jin again and this time he had another victim trying to mug someone again. She was an old lady, trying to tug back her small gold purse away from Jin's grip.

"I said give me the purse lady." Jin then snapped his fingers making a flame appear over his finger. "Now or else."

Ube has seen enough, so what can you do? he couldn't dial the police like this.

"Someone please help!" the old lady cried. He snapped and rushed around the corner. charging at the two.

"Hey, you let her go." He thought Jin would fight back and that maybe he would fight back. The next couple of seconds did not go the way he expected.

The two screamed in terror. The old lady had run past Jin, and Ube stood triumphant, though Jin quickly stood his ground. Ube quickly realized that Jin soon did a strange dance with his feet.

He looked at his dance with interest. Then he knew what Jin was doing, it was shooting lighting. Ube's eyes widened and quickly tried to run away. Though he was just too slow as the lighting shot from his fingertips. His life flashed before his eyes.

"I'm sorry Mom." Ube thought. The lightning hit his body. Then he exploded covering the alleyway in green slime. The trash can lids covered the floor and smothered it. Jin quickly ran out of the alley. Not sure what he just saw.

Ube thought he died but realized he was still in the alleyway. The small silver ship that looked like a UFO hovered around all the slime magnetizing it and pulling it back. All the slime formed itself back into its humanoid shape.

Ube looked at himself surprised he could even do this, he had the power he could do so much more. He gazed down at the sense he recently caused. Though did it really make it right? He could have called the police from a payphone. He quickly shook off the thought and ran away.

He could see the building he lived in a couple of feet away. He ran into the building without a care in the world. running up a spiral staircase and making a sharp turn on the third floor. Ube knew no one came out at this time, he could see his apartment door, the redwood carved with such perfection. He reached for the handle and unfortunately, the door was locked. He facepalms himself, realizing he left his keys at the park.

What could he do? He needs to get home now. His attention snapped to the far right of the hall which looked like a staircase.

Someone was coming. What was he supposed to do? Ube took a deep breath and gazed at his door handle. Maybe he should let this second-nature thing come over. He let his goopy hand touch the mob, at that moment he could feel himself touching the inner parts of the lock. He slithered more of his green slime, knowing where his body was, and with this foreseen knowledge unlocked the door.

He stared in bewilderment at his own hand, seeing what he had just accomplished. He quickly snapped out of his amazed trance when he heard the footsteps get closer. Ube ran inside and shut the door. It was a nice lush living room and a big couch. Though it looked very normal. He ran into the bathroom and slammed the door shut and looked into the mirror above the white sink. He finally saw his own face, seeing how it wasn't human. Ube's hand slowly reached up to touch his gelatinous face. What got him the most was how green his eyes were. They looked so clear and yet he could see. This was him. He felt nothing wrong, this was a different state of being for him.

Then he could hear the living room door open. Ube eyes widened in panic. His mom was home and stood still as her footsteps echoed from behind the door. He slowly kept quiet if he knew one thing his mom could find him a mile away. She was the daughter of Toph and knew how to use seismic sense. A very advanced earth bender technique. The user would send a signal throughout the ground to read people's attacks. It was also a good lie detector.

Ube thought he could jump out of the bathroom window. He slithers to the other side of the room not making any noise. He heard a knock on the door. Ube panic she got off work early,

"Ube are you in there," The Chief said. His slime arm knocked over a glass.

"It's all fine I'm good." Ube regretfully covered his mouth, realizing that his voice sounded completely different, with an echo undertone like he was speaking through jello.

"Ube what's wrong with your voice?" she asked in concern for his well-being.

"Oh-um I kinda caught something, while walking at night you know how chilly it is," he said. Lin wasn't believing any of his words and immediately knocked harder on the door.

"Young me you let me at this moment." She orders. He lowered his head, he wouldn't just abandon the room he had to face the music. Hopefully, she won't freak out. He gave a brief sigh. He knew deep down he was no liar and was a good person. With a shaky hand, he reached for the door.

"Okay, Mom I'm gonna open the door but when you see me don't freak out okay," Ube said. Lin slapped her forehead and gave an annoyed look.

"Oh, this should be good." Lin said out loud. As he slowly reached for the handle he closed his eyes, unlocked the door, and gave one scared look to the wooden door. He slowly opened it, to see his mother with a calm expression.

"Took you long enough so how was work." Lin said.

Ube was absolutely confused, as to why she wasn't freaking out, was his mom just as blind as grandma.

"Mom can you see anything different with me right now." He began waving his arm to himself. Lin narrowed her.

"Yay, your black eye healed up good." She said.

"What!" Ube said. His black eye healed what was she talking about, Ube quickly looked at his own hands to see he was completely normal. He rushed back into the bathroom to look in the mirror, seeing himself; the normal human him. He gladly touched his face and gave a relaxed laugh seeing how it was all over. He was fine and healed up it was incredible and the best part was he felt normal. Though Lin's eyes caught onto something on her son's wrist.

"Hmm wired looking watch." Lin said. It didn't look expanse but it sure did have a weird design, While the green dial was an eyesore. Ube's eyes looked at his wrist with utter shock but quickly hid his reaction, It was not technically lying if she never asked about it.

"Uh yay, I found it off of the ground, in the park." Ube said. He kept his cool not to make her suspicious of him. Lin could feel something was off with her son, he was acting so nervous before she could speak, the telephone rang at the apartment. Lin glanced over and back to her son.

"Will talk later." She said, she picked up the call and answered. Ube tried to listen in but couldn't make out thing. She quickly put down the phone.

"There was some sort of accident in the park, I'll begone for tonight. Good night son." Lin quickly walked over to him and gave him a hug, so he gave one back. As they parted Ube gave a happy smile.

"Alright be safe out there." He said. Lin looked at his watch and back to him. "Will talk later about this."

With that last bit of communication, she left the room. Ube fell down on the couch in pure mental exhaustion. After everything that happened today, he was clearly not, at the top of his game. He began to rethink what happened tonight.

"I was a monster and this watch can turn me into one, all those people were scared what would I even do with this, I do not want to cause Mom trouble but I saved that lady, Yay I totally sacred that Jin guy away, though I don't want to cause mom any more trouble, that call from the park was definitely about me." Ube thought then switched his attention to the watch. He was just like the baby bird thrown into a new situation but would he fly or fall? He sat down and looked at the watch.

"Maybe this is not a bad thing." He said gazing at the watch and wondering what could this possibly mean for him. A smile appeared on his face, he didn't work tomorrow maybe he could explore more with it. " I was something else new and I liked it."

He laid down and gently closed his eyes, tomorrow comes today and new lights shine while new darkness is close behind.

Deep within the giant brown ship, inside the main hall. The red energy tube flared with a Laval-like substance. The walls were a red bronze, The floor a cold gray, and the red lights gave an ominous glow. One being sat on his giant cold metal throne. It was a humanoid creature with a face resembling that of an octopus. He has tentacles dangling in the front of his face, almost acting like a beard. His skin is pale green with yellowish spots on his face and tentacles. He doesn't have a nose or a visible ear. His glowing blood-red eyes.

He wore a black and red-brownish armored suit and gloves worn with great pride. His armor was spiked at the shoulder and arm pads. He had green sacs on the sides of his head.

A humankind creature wearing black and brown armor, walked bowing to his lord.

"I am sorry my Lord Vilgax we lost the device, though fret not my lord, we are located on an unknown planet."

Vilgax narrowed his red eyes in rage but he held a calm composure. The sound of his hands tightening in his iron grip. He inhaled even his breath sound like a storm.

"Send a drone." He commanded. His subject bowed and walked off. The screen showed the world where the Omnitrix had landed. He coldly gazed at the planet. "I will find my prize and when I do I'll conquer the galaxy. I'll tear apart this backwater planet if I have to."

The cold conquer sat in his chair and began to plan his next steps carefully.
