Chapter 5: The test begins
Hisashi gets Kouna's attention before sternly telling her that he did warn her about the consequences of her recklessness, which will not only make U.A. Academy of Harmony Island look bad, but put the family name in disgrace, causing Kouna to say that she's not as stupid people think she is, which also caused Hisashi to say that he understand before giving Kouna a stern lecture about how serious becoming pro heroes are since the war of VOWD Island. Hisashi then told Kouna that now that she put herself at risk of being expelled from U.A. Academy, she must prepare for the test that will allow her to stay in the academy. Otherwise, their family and the IHWO organization members (including their aunts and uncles) are going to be extremely disappointed to have the Midoriya family name tarnished. Kouna then sigh and puts her head down in shame before saying ok as she pouts. Hisashi then told her and their cousins to get to class afterwards, which everyone did as he shakes his head slowly and sigh before setting off to his next class.
After school, Izuku and Ochaco scolded their daughter for getting herself into trouble and putting herself at risk of expulsion, causing Kouna to say that she's sorry three times before putting her head and arms into her knees to start crying, which also caused her parents to look at Hisashi, Ultra, Betsy, Eri, Abby, Akumo, Himanko, and the cadets (who then just shrug) before Izu told everyone to let him talk to Kouna for a bit. Izuku then kneel before telling her how disappointed he is to hear about her misbehavior during the first day of school, which caused Kouna to make a sad noise just like her mother. He then told Kouna that he knows that she is smart, but she won't make it in U.A. if she doesn't prove how smart she can be if she puts her mind into it, causing Kouna to yell that she hates studying. After Izu calms his daughter down, he convinced Kouna to show everyone what she can do once she puts her mind into things, causing Kouna herself to admit that she wants to be just like her twin brother ever since they were four years old after he got serious about becoming a pro hero just like their dad. Izuku then smiles before rubbing Kouna's head and gives her mochi to eat, which caused her to make excited noises louder than her mom. Soon, Hisashi came into his and Kouna's room to see Kouna herself training her strength and quirks much to his disappointment before getting on his bed to read a college level textbook before telling his twin sister not to go destroying his side of the room just like last time. After a brief flashback of Kouna accidentally destroying Hisashi's side of the twins' room with her extreme strength and one for all, Kouna herself took a deep breath and thanked Hisashi for taking responsibility for her actions, just like he always does before deciding to lift her weights, causing Hisashi to show a hint a smile before telling his sister to prepare for the entrance exam on her loft. The next day, everyone on Harmony Island came to see Kouna pass the test to be able to remain at U.A. Academy before waiting for the test to begin.
On the bleachers, the U.A. Warcraft and Class 1a took a seat as Izu talks to Chris about getting Kouna a tutor on the phone, causing Chris himself to suggest Izu to let Hisashi tutor his twin sister, since he is a certified genius just like him and his ancestors. Back inside Class 1a's homeroom, Kouna got antsy to show off her strength, which she explained to her teachers that it's like a combination of the strength of Aunt Tsuyu, Aunt Mina, and Aunt Pony, causing Eraserhead to tell her be quiet before sternly telling her that things are different now, and future heroes like her needs to be more serious in their education in heroism because brains and brawn are more than ever important. He then told Kouna that despite her strength that doesn't need one for all to enhance, she needs to be as smart as her twin brother Hisashi, and without brains, she'll gets herself killed when she faces an actual villain outside of the island. Eraserhead then asks Kouna if she thinks she'll be able to face villains with just brawn, causing Kouna herself to say yes, which also caused her homeroom teacher to say wrong because as a pro hero, the brains are the MVP on the frontlines, while brawn covers the brains' weakness. Mrs. Wombat then gives Kouna her written test, which includes everything that she's supposed to study for before warning her that if she failed, it's immediately expulsion for her. A montage then begins after Kouna remembers what her dad said during his pep talk with her, which ends with her surprising her teachers because she knew everything, from reading, to careers, she was just hates studying because it's boring and have nothing to do with fighting. Kouna then get up with a look of determination and told her teachers that she's going to prove to them once and for all, that she belongs at U.A. Academy, because she's going to do this the Kouna way, causing the teachers themselves to become amazed until Eraserhead calmly allows her to go do the second part of the entrance exam.
