Chapter 8: Starter monster

That night, Izu and Ochaco came onto Kouna's loft in the twins' room before comforting her as Izu told her not to let Hisashi put her down. After Hisashi himself say that he heard that, Kouna told her parents that she just wants people to give her a chance to prove that she can be a hero, causing Izu to give her a pep talk about how every hero is different in their own way before comparing her to her uncle Katsuki and uncle Hotto. He then says that Kouna is one of the two half of a symbol that represent peace and justice before wrapping the pep talk up by saying that if anyone, including Hisashi doubt Kouna's worth as a hero, then she just has to make them regret underestimating her, causing Hisashi to say that he heard that too. Soon, Kouna gives her parents a hug and a goodnight kiss before the couple tries to do the same with Hisashi. However, he turned away and just say goodnight before telling his parents to turn off the lights on their way out, which caused the couple to just smile and head off to bed.

The next day, Class 1a hang out in their homeroom until Eraserhead told them that today, they are going to take a field trip to the Ultimate Battle League dead end to learn about monster training, causing the class, especially Kouna to get excited until Hisashi put a hand up to quiet everyone. Which also caused Eraserhead to thank him before letting Cementoss in with three species of monsters, which are elvking, the grass type monster, lakapult, the water type monster, and flamgrel, the fire type monster. Soon, Eraserhead told everyone that before he could explain what's happening, he's going to do roll call, causing the students to get ready for him to say their names as he list them all in order: Kouna Midoriya, the impulsive brawn, Hisashi Midoriya, the genius class rep, Shenko Kirishima, the manly dancer, Jackura Rikkido, the cowardly chef, Tarafukay Tokoyami, the gothic athlete, Shocken Kaminari, the musician/ladies' man, Otto Todoroki, the jack of all trades, Angela Shoji, the humble pacifist, Tenso Iida, the ditzy vice class rep , Kurei Ojiro, the odd karate mistress, Izenko Bakugo, the hot tempered narcissist, Neito Monoma Jr., the paranoid bodyguard, Toad Kuroiro, the mysterious comedian, Deku Tsuburaba, the generic cinnamon roll, Dora Shishida, the Christian beast, Avalon Honenuki, the brazen Kungfu warrior, Graphic Fukidashi, the comedic size shifter, Bea Awase, the welding prankster, Tamaki Amajiki Jr., the wimpy doormat, and finally, Madeline Togota, the dramatic inventor.

After everyone say here, Eraserhead told them about how the U.A. Warcraft created Monster Face-Off and how the first tournament made history before noticing Kouna about to fall asleep, causing Neito to wake her up by throwing spitballs at her head as he and Toad laugh together. Eraserhead then continues by saying that the class is going to choose one of the three monsters and train them at the stadium, which caused a montage to begin as Class 1a each choose a monster until it ends with Kouna going next after Hisashi, who choose a lakapult and named it Cosmo. Kouna then look at the three remaining monsters as her cousins, especially Hisashi waits with annoyed expressions until Tarafukay and Izenko yelled at her to hurry up, causing Kouna herself to choose a flamgrel and named it Wanda. Eraserhead then sigh and told everyone to put on their hero costumes and get on the bus so they can get to the Ultimate Battle League stadium, which caused everyone to listen and get on the bus with their monsters as Kouna and Wanda look out the window and saw everyone they know, including the U.A. Warcraft and the adult Cadet 1a (who are saying good luck to Minmega and Sirena during another dangerous mission) soon, the class finally reached the stadium as they admit that they've been there with their parents for training sessions.
