Chapter 21: Cheer up Kouna
When they went reach the living room of the mansion, Hisashi and Waldo told them that Kouna ran into the elevator to the third floor, causing the parents to reach the third floor before knocking on the twins' room and ask Kouna if they could talk to her. The parents then enter the room as Izu told Kouna that just because she's grounded does not mean that he and her mother doesn't love her anymore, which caused Kouna to pout before asking why everyone doesn't see her as someone as special as Hisashi. Izu then climbed onto the loft first before reminding Kouna that every hero is different, including her, causing Ochaco to agree before admitting that the reason why they were hard on her is that they're scare of her getting killed by villains. Kouna then look up at her parents smiling at her, causing them to tell her to cheer up because it's not too late for her to learn what it takes to be a hero. Kouna then wipe her tears before asking how she will be able to do it, causing the parents to look at each other reminding their daughter that she got them and Hisashi to be her mentors. Izu then told Kouna that a future pro hero needs to go through a step-by-step process without rushing or being reckless, causing Kouna to look at her fists before giving her parents a look of determination and say that she wants to be just like her twin brother Hisashi, which also caused Izu to smile before he and Kouna starts playfully wrestle with each other as Ochaco laughs. Soon, Hisashi came in and asks his parents if he could have a turn to talk to his twin sister.
Izu and Ochaco then left the twins' room as Hisashi climbed onto Kouna's loft before sternly asking for a reason for why she would think that she'll take down the most dangerous organization since the VOWD, causing Kouna to tell her brother that she is not a simple girl, and she can prove that she has what it takes to be a hero if everyone just give her a chance, which also caused Hisashi to lecture her about how going on missions that doesn't required her is reckless and dangerous before saying that Kouna is lucky because if he and the pro heroes haven't come to Chaos Island, she and their cousins would've been killed. Hisashi then told Kouna that everyone recommend him to be a mentor to her before saying if she wants to prove everybody that she can keep the famous Midoriya name from being tarnished, she needs to do it step-by-step without rushing, which caused Kouna to take a deep breath and told her twin brother that all she wanted was to keep him from getting killed before revealing that she wants to save people with a smile, and be the symbol of peace, just like the IHWO Organization. Hisashi then points out that like Tarafukay said, she needs to be a good listener if she wants to be a hero, causing Kouna to give Hisashi a look before telling him about how King Ollie was an inspiration that was admired and loved by everyone because not only because of his kindness and peacemaking, but because he can see the good in people. She then promised Hisashi that if he just gives her a chance to prove everyone that she's worthy to be a pro hero, then she'll be the person that will make him smile just like when they were little. After Hisashi asks Kouna if she really wants him to smile for the first time since he became serious to become a pro hero, Kouna told him that she wants to be the admiration and inspiration that made him proud to be related to before saying like their dad and All Might said, every hero is different, and putting your nose into someone else's business is the essence of a true hero. Hisashi then show a hint of a smile afterwards before sitting down on Kouna's bed.
Hisashi then told Kouna that he understood how she feels about this, causing Kouna herself to become confused as her brother explained that her desire is to be like All Might during his prime is what made half of the islanders admire her along with her strength and quirks. However, without him, Tarafukay, and Neito Jr. to keep an eye on her, she'll most likely caused another incident just like she did on Chaos Island. After Hisashi made sure that Kouna is listening, he goes through the explanation of the step-by-step process, which is step 1: training and education, step 2: internships, and step 3: get a license from the provisional license exam, which caused Kouna to groan and complained that it's a lot of hard work to go through just to become a pro hero. Hisashi then sigh and warned Kouna that if she doesn't slow down and do the steps he told her, then she'll never make their family proud. After Hisashi climbed down and turn the light off, Kouna lied on her bed before looking up to the ceiling to think about what Hisashi and their dad say to her before becoming determined to make them proud.
