Chapter 39: Sports festival ending

After Kouna was presented with her trophy, Gentle, Labrava, and the press conference came to ask her questions about her newfound status as a possible potential of becoming the world's number 1 hero, causing her to look at her friends and family before answering each question until Hisashi shows up, which also caused the press to question his strength. Hisashi then look away in shame until one of the press members asks him what went wrong during his match, causing Izu and Ochaco to try to get the press away from Hisashi before he gets emotional. However, Hisashi told the press that he's been thinking about what went wrong after he lost to Kouna. He then told everyone that Kouna have gained his respect but is far from beating him in becoming number one at the World Hero Billboard Awards, which caused Kouna to look at him as he told the press that he's going to figure something out to make sure that he's number 1 in the World Hero Billboard Awards, and Kouna is number 2 like always. After Hisashi left the stadium, Tarafukay went to Kouna and asks her what just happened, causing Kouna herself to say that she don't know. Soon, Kouna and Tarafukay joined some of their friends to be on the news while Hisashi went outside to sing a song called "what went wrong" which is about what happened during the final match of the third round before asking himself the titular question.

The Harmony Island News began as Gentle gives the report about how exciting the sports festival was before telling how the simple muscular girl Kouna Midoriya amazed everybody by becoming the champion, which caused him to end his report by giving Labrava a turn. Labrava then thanked Gentle before questioning Kouna about how she feels to have her own brother as a rival for the number 1 spot at the World Hero Billboard Awards, causing Kouna herself to admit that she's not sure about competing with her brother just to become popular. However, if a competition is what he wants, then she's not going to hold anything back, causing some of the citizens who are watching in the background to clap for her as Labrava say "back to you" to Gentle. While this is happening, multiple kids who are the same age as Kouna and Hisashi are watching Kouna herself on tv. Gentle then report about Gwen and Henry's recent mission to search Chaos Island for the villains' hideout until the villains themselves chased them off. He then revealed a video recorded by one of the royal guards, which shows the royal duo revealing parts of the Warcraft of Doom's plan, which is something about targeting Kouna, so she can join them. The news then ends with Gentle speculating that if Kouna is still her reckless self, villains could take advantage of this before asking what the twins are going to do now that their sibling rivalry is formed, and will it bring shame to the Midoriya name.

That night, Izu and Ochaco came into the twins' room before comforting Hisashi as Izu told him to cheer up because no matter what, he and Ochaco are very proud of him, which caused Hisashi himself to tell his parents that he just doesn't know what happened, because he thought he could beat Kouna just like when they were kids. Izu then gives Hisashi a pep talks about how brains and brawn are two most important things in life when it comes to fighting villains, and without the other, he could seriously wind up in a hospital. He then says that Hisashi is one of the two half of a symbol that represent peace and justice before wrapping the pep talk up by saying that the only way to solve this problem of his, is to not only get psychically stronger, but to work alongside Kouna to maintain peace and harmony. Soon, Hisashi thanked his parents and say goodnight to them before refusing a goodnight kiss, causing Izu and Ochaco to just smile and turn the lights off before leaving. What they don't know is that Kouna was listening to the whole thing before she looks at a picture of her and Hisashi when they were four years old.
