On to chapter 3!
NCIS...
Gibbs panted as he tried to calm himself. Verole and Gnash were nasty people. His arms were covered in slices in varying lengths. They stung; he was in pain. His legs had long cuts that started at his knees and went down to his ankles. His thighs had short, quick swipes across them. His chest has multiple X shaped slices from his neck down. His cheeks had tiny swipes like paper cuts. Gibbs felt the sting of another cut as it went across his cheek once more. Gnash sighed. "It's a shame, you were pretty handsome. Now with all the scars, you'll be nothing." A dark chuckle came from behind them as well as a soft thump. Verole came around in front of Gibbs holding an old-fashioned saw and smirk on his face. Gnash grinned and tossed the knife to the corner of the makeshift room. Gibbs glared as best as he could at Verole.
"Don't you dare come near me with that saw or so help me I will use it on you," Gibbs growled lowly. Verole rolled his eyes. God, Tony, where are you, Gibbs thought. There was a crash off somewhere in the warehouse. Verole and Gnash looked at each other.
"We need to move. Grab him," Verole ordered to Gnash as he walked back towards their door to a back room. Gnash began to undo his hands and feet quickly. As soon as he was done, he stood up and wiped his hands of the blood. Gibbs took the opportunity and quickly punched Gnash in the nose. He fell to the ground in pain and held his face as blood dripped from his nose. Verole ran back out and groaned. "Dammit, Gnash you moron!" He ran at Gibbs and grabbed him. Gibbs struggled and squirmed as he fought to get away. He slipped a hand free and pointed at Verole. His hands began to glow and smirked.
"Now you're done," Gibbs stated as he held Verole in place with one hand with his fairy magic. Verole grunted as he tried to move from his position. Gnash came at him, and Gibbs stopped him too. Both men struggled to move as Gibbs had them held in their spots. He began to feel weak and fell to his knees. There was another crashing sound in the warehouse but this time it was much closer. "In here!" He tried to shout but it was hard. It hurt to move. His clothes were covered in blood, his body was covered in cuts. He fell to the ground and felt dizzy. Tony... he thought before everything went black.
NCIS...
Gibbs groaned as he felt the IV in his arm. He heard the beeping of the heart monitor, the whir of the air conditioning unit in his room. He tried to sit up but failed as a hand gently grasped his. He felt a small squeeze and turned to look to the left of him. He blinked a couple times to get rid of the blur in his vision as he saw Tony. Tony was sitting next to him with a small smile. He saw the relief in his eyes when he saw him. "Gibbs," Tony mumbled breathlessly. He leaned down and carefully hugged him. Gibbs groaned at the slight dull of pain in his arms. Tony frowned as a tear slid down his cheek. "I'm sorry I wasn't there sooner. I should've been there sooner to save you. We searched every warehouse and yours was the last one we looked in. There were at least five different warehouses. It was ridiculous, and when we found you, we thought we ruined it because one of Fornell's men fell into a stack of boxes. He's here too, he had a seizure. I was so scared I-" Gibbs held up his hand. Tony stopped talking and studied Gibbs' eyes.
"Dinozzo, relax. I'm here," Gibbs calmly mumbled. He closed his eyes and relaxed into his pillow. Tony nodded. "You got 'em?" He asked softly. Tony nodded. Gibbs sighed softly.
"Took a bit to get 'em out of that spell you had them in," Tony added. Gibbs chuckled softly. "We had to ask another magic fairy to come undo it, thankfully it was one of the warehouse people. Otherwise, they'd been stuck awhile. How come you didn't use your magic to escape?" Tony asked.
"I tried; they used something to cease my magic. Did you guys grab the ties they used?" Gibbs questioned. Tony nodded. Gibbs smiled softly and tapped Tony's hand. "Thank you," he mumbled. Tony smiled.
"I'll always be there for you," Tony said as he gently squeezed Gibbs' hand. Gibbs closed his eyes slowly with a nod.
"I know," Gibbs replied. Tony rolled his eyes with a smile. He continued to talk about the case and everything that it entailed. Gibbs began to think back to what Verole had said about Tony. 'Anthony likes to take it up the ass, old man. He always fell for the older men back in Peoria, and in New York.' Gibbs opened his eyes and tried to sit up. Tony stopped him and propped the bed up with the remote.
"Let me help you," Tony said as he gently pulled him up to his chest and propped the pillow behind his back. He took a small sniff and sighed softly as he set Gibbs back against the bed. He still smells like sawdust and coffee, he thought. Gibbs cleared his throat and looked into Tony's eyes.
"I gotta ask you something, Tony," Gibbs stated. Tony nodded nervously. He shifted into a small cat and climbed onto the bed. Gibbs chuckled softly. "Uh-uh, I want your human form," he said. Tony got into the chair and shifted back.
"Must be serious," he said as he ran a hand through his hair. Gibbs shrugged softly and groaned a little. His skin was tight from his wounds. Tony furrowed his brow. "Go ahead, ask," Tony urged. Gibbs blew out a breath and nodded.
"When Verole and Gnash had me, they told me something about you," Gibbs started off. Tony looked on in shock.
"About me? I don't even know them," Tony replied. Gibbs nodded.
"Apparently, when you worked in Peoria or New York, you fell in love with a water fairy." The color from Tony's face drained. Gibbs squeezed his hand gently. "Hold on, don't you go running," he said as Tony started to fidget and try to leave. Gibbs put him in his place and held him there with magic. Tony squirmed and groaned. "That fairy you fell in love with, was Verole's uncle. He told me he was trying to get to you because he wanted you," Gibbs continued. "He was very adamant that you saw how he shouldn't be denied what he wants, which is why I was next on his list. He researched and studied us. He assumed you were in love with me," Gibbs said. Tony was completely pale at this point, and he wanted to leave. He tried to shift but Gibbs' magic wouldn't let him.
"Please let me go," Tony begged softly. The tears brimmed his eyes. Gibbs released him. Tony got up and left the room without a word. Gibbs frowned and sighed. That's not the reaction I was hoping for, Gibbs thought. A nurse came into his room with a smile that faded slowly.
"Everything okay?" she asked. Gibbs nodded. "I just want to check your vitals. How's the pain?"
"I'm alright. Just feels tight right now," he monotonously replied. She nodded and began to check his vitals. Gibbs sighed and felt for Tony. He felt bad.
NCIS...
Tony ran down the stairs of the hospital and sat on the one of the steps. He brought his knees to his chest. He wasn't supposed to know. He can't know, Tony thought. A tear slid down his cheek. He must think badly of me. He can't be happy. Tony sighed as he hid his face in his hands. A tap on his shoulder brought him to reality and he looked up. McGee and Abby stood there with confused looks on their faces. "Hey guys," Tony mumbled as he stood up.
"What's wrong? Is something wrong with Gibbs?" Abby anxiously asked. Tony shook his head.
"No, just needed some time, I'm getting tired. I think I'm gonna head home. I'm sure he'd love to see you guys," Tony said as he walked down the stairs. He felt the eyes on his back as he went down the stairs. He wanted to go home. He wanted to hide. God knows how Gibbs felt about him right now, and he certainly didn't want to know. He got to the main entrance of the hospital and walked to his car in the close parking lot.
NCIS...
There was a knock on Gibbs' door. "Tony, it doesn't matter-" he stopped as he saw it was McGee and Abby at his door. "You're not Tony," he mumbled. They both walked in and sat down next to him.
"No, we are not, but you look super upset it's not. What happened when Tony was here?" Abby asked as she leaned down for a gentle hug, Gibbs sighed softly and shook his head.
"We were talking about the case, and I was telling him what Verole said to me. He walked out after that," Gibbs answered. McGee spoke up this time.
"What did Verole say?"
"Something about Tony being gay," Gibbs replied. McGee and Abby looked at each other and smirked. Gibbs raised his brow. "What's that look for?"
"You didn't know Tony liked men?" Abby asked. Gibbs shook his head no.
"Seriously? I mean he told me after I caught him at a nightclub."
"He told me about his crush," Abby added. McGee looked at her and shook his head.
"McGee, spill it," Gibbs ordered. McGee's cheeks turned pink, and he shook his head. Gibbs glared at him.
"I told him I'd never tell anyone," McGee said. Gibbs gingerly crossed his arms.
"Now," Gibbs ordered. His fingers began to glow, and he pointed at McGee. "Don't make me use my magic against you," he warned. McGee held his hands up in a truce.
"He likes you, boss," he said quietly. Abby nodded in agreement.
"He likes me?" Gibbs pushed himself up on the bed more to sit straight up.
"Ever since you tackled him in Baltimore. He constantly was asking me questions about you; were you single, did you like men, have you ever been with a man, it was kinda cute. He still kinda acts like that towards you. I mean c'mon how did you not see it?" Abby explained. Gibbs looked back and thought of different times when there could've been any indication. He began to notice the little things. That's why Tony felt different to him; why he felt close with him. Tony liked him. Gibbs rubbed his hands down his face carefully and groaned. "Gibbs, please don't tell him we told you. He never wanted you to know. He knew you wouldn't date him," Abby pleaded. Gibbs nodded.
"I'm ready to sleep for the night," Gibbs stated. Both McGee and Abby nodded and hugged goodbye. Gibbs mind ran a mile a minute trying to collect his thoughts. Me? He likes me? I'm such a bastard, why? Gibbs sighed as he continued to think about Tony. Could he ever be with a man? What about work? Rule twelve existed for a reason, granted he probably could manage both work and Tony. What if I could love him? he thought. Another nurse came in with his dinner and left quietly again. He pushed his food tray away and turned onto his side. He didn't want to eat, he wanted to sleep. He sighed softly as he began to drift into sleep...
NCIS...
The next morning was a little bit of blur. Gibbs was discharged and Abby picked him up to take him home. As he sat next to her, he decided to speak up. "Abby, what do you think I should do about Tony?" He asked. Abby sighed softly.
"Honestly, just give him time. If you don't feel the same way, you can't force it. However, if you wanted to try it, I guess talk to him," Abby offered. Gibbs nodded. Abby pulled into his driveway. Gibbs hugged her goodbye and left the car. He walked into his house and felt the relief of being home. It was nice and quiet. He saw the beer bottles and thought back to a couple nights ago when they started everything. Tony was so happy and was excited to show him his powers. He remembered that Tony licked him as a dog and smiled softly. Tony gave him a kiss without even thinking. He held his cheek and reminisced in the feeling it gave him, remembering that night. He sighed and released his wings and stretched them. Thankfully, Verole and Gnash were stopped before he lost his wings. That was his pride. There was a quiet knock on the front door. Gibbs furrowed his brow and went to the door. As he looked out of the peephole he smiled. Gibbs opened the door and pulled Tony in for a hug. Tony patted his back carefully and reveled in the hug. Gibbs pulled away slowly and moved away so Tony could come in.
"Boss, I just want to apologize for what Verole had said, and I want you to know that I understand if you don't want to do anything about it, but I need to know what you are thinking. I can't continue on in my life if I don't know what's gonna happen between us, so please," Tony rambled. He was nervous, Gibbs could feel his nervousness. Gibbs sat down on the couch and patted the couch cushion next to him. Tony nervously sat down and looked into his lap. Gibbs pulled his chin up to look at him.
"I want you to tell me everything," Gibbs replied calmly. Tony nodded.
"Okay, um, where do I start." He thought about it for a moment. "Well, I guess back in college. I experimented a little, I guess. I kinda liked it and realized I liked men and women. I preferred older men, mostly because the younger guys were just..." Tony shivered a little as he felt the hand hit his thigh. He looked into Gibbs' eyes in slight panic. Gibbs gently squeezed his thigh earning a moan from Tony. "Please, don't," Tony mumbled. Gibbs could see the tears well up. He nodded and removed his hand, but moved closer to Tony, shoulder to shoulder. Tony continued on. "When I began working, there were a couple guys but then I meant Daniel, Velore's uncle. God, he was amazing. His water magic was so interesting to watch, and I loved it when he would make it shower lightly. Like a mist. It looked like diamonds in the light. He was so good at his magic and his looks didn't hurt him either. His beautiful honey eyes and graying hair." Tony's thoughts wandered about Daniel. Gibbs chuckled softly as he watched the far off look on Tony's face. He studied his features a little more intensely and noticed Tony was really handsome. Tony began to talk once more. "Anyways, when I came home one day, I found him with another guy, and I knew I had to leave. I told him I was done and left. I never talked to him again. I found out he was murdered though," Tony added as he began to turn away from Gibbs. Gibbs placed a hand on his shoulder and pulled him closer. Tony bit his lip nervously and looked into his eyes.
"Tony, I want to know why me?" Gibbs asked softly. Tony sighed softly.
"You're the one that is always there for me. When I get sick, hurt, bored. Hell, your looks don't hurt either," Tony teased. Gibbs felt the blush creep into his cheeks. Tony smiled softly. "I know, you won't date me, I know you're straight, so don't feel pressured," Tony explained. Gibbs held Tony's face in his hands.
"What if, I wanted to try?"
"What!?"
XOXO
Your Irish Friend.
