The School Dance had arrived and Danny agree to take Rachel like he said. Though still lost on confused about his feelings for her, he could tell that Rachel was a bit happier when he agree to take her after all. But he could also tell she was still a bit upset. They walked into the school and to the gym where the dance was being held.
"Mr. Fenton? Rachel?"
The teacher-student pair turned to see Mr. Lancer walking towards them.
"Mr. Lancer, I told you before that my answer was no," Rachel said, having dealt with him all week.
"And you came with one of your students?" Mr. Lancer asked.
"Mr. Fenton's lessons are coming along just fine. He wanted to reward me for my help and ask me to the dance. And before you or anyone else get any wrong ideas, I'm here to keep an eye on the A-Listers. Mr. Fenton is free to dance with however he wants." Rachel told him.
Though, she really hoped that Danny would dance with her. But she needs to be careful. There were a lot of people here and she didn't want to make the wrong move. She may be able to stay one step ahead of Dash and Paulina, but she wasn't sure about the other students. She places a hand on Danny's shoulder, making the boy turn to her.
"Go to your friends if you want, Danny. I'll be over there, making sure the A-Listers are following the rules that were set up for them." She said, making Danny nod.
Danny nods, knowing she was acting like a teacher since they were around people. Made him glad that she knew when and where to act. Danny spotted his friends and walked up to them. However, the kiss appear in his mind again and he was very unsure about telling them. Rachel knew very well she could get in trouble for it and Danny didn't want to hurt her feelings. To think he got an older woman to like him.
"Hey, dude. Did we just see you come in with Ms. Kelton?" Tucker asked.
"Yeah, I wanted to thank her for everything and asked her to the dance. I'm a little surprised she said yes." Danny said.
"Are you sure, Danny? I mean, Ms. Kelton looks a bit upset." Sam said, seeing the teacher leaning on a wall with a cup of punch in her hand.
"I sorta promise her I'll give her a dance, but we both don't want to give the people the wrong idea," Danny said, not wanting to say too much.
"Lucky," Tucker groans.
"Well, I see your point. Still, watch out for Dash." Sam said.
"And he's heading for me, isn't he?" Danny asked, sighing.
"You bet Fenton."
Danny turns around seeing Dash walking towards him. He also spotted Rachel turning towards them but not moving yet. She wanted to see how this plays out before stepping in.
"If this is about your punishment, you have no one to blame but yourself, Dash," Danny said.
Dash just glares, looking ready to try something.
"I'll get you back on that later, but mine telling me what you're doing with the hottest teacher in the school?" Dash said, making Danny roll his eyes.
"I ask her to come to the dance with me as a thank for all the hard work she helps with. My grades have jumped without you and the A-Listers trying to steal my homework." Danny said, knowing Dash wouldn't believe him.
"Yeah, right. I bet Ms. Kelton is giving you far more than lessons." Dash said.
"Nothing is going on between us other than being friends. While I don't deny she's hot, I'm not the kind of guy that would treat her as someone he's not. She already told me a few things about herself outside of class, and she even hang out with me and my friends once." Danny said, still keeping the kiss a secret.
"Oh? Is that so?" Dash said, rolling up his sleeve.
"Mr. Baxter..." Rachel spoke up, trying hard not to blush at Danny's words.
"Just because school is over, doesn't mean you can go back to your ways. The A-Lister no long exists anywhere. Plus, your parents will ground you even more and prevent the college you're looking for to not take you." Rachel said, already knowing that no college would take Dash because of his grades.
Dash wanted to say something but notices her dress. Rachel notices and frowns. She got this dress for Danny and he was the only person that could look at her like that.
'Steady, Rachel. Don't become one of those women. Danny has the right to do want he wants.' She reminds herself.
"Eyes up here, Mr. Baxter." She said, pulling his head up.
"Mr. Fenton came here to enjoy the dance and he asked me to be his date. I agreed, knowing that you and everyone will try to get back at him for your mistakes. I will not let that happen. The School Board asked me to keep an eye on things and report if any of the A-Listers try to break the rules that were set for them. That also met outside of classes too." Rachel said, glaring.
Dash's eye looked back at her dress, and Rachel rolled her eyes. She lets go of Dash and walks around him. Dash tries to follow her, but Rachel pushes him forward.
"Go enjoy your date and leave Danny and his friends alone. Or I will give you a bigger detention on Monday." Rachel told him.
She sighs before turning to the three.
"I'm sorry, but I could stand back like that. That's not how a teacher works." She said, sighing.
"It's cool, nice to have a teacher that stands up for us geeks," Tucker said, smiling.
"I do find you three very different than most of my other students. Danny is one of my favorites." Rachel said, patting his shoulder.
Danny blushes a bit, wondering if he should tell his friends about the kiss.
"Well, as long as Danny is doing okay, I'm cool with it," Tucker said.
Sam just looked at the two. She didn't know why, but it looked like they were a lot closer than being teacher and student.
'Maybe I'm overthinking. There's no way Danny would do that.' She said.
"Well, I'll return to my spot. I know Mr. Baxter will not let up." Rachel said, turning away.
Danny watch her walk away before making his mind up on something.
"Excuse me, guys," Danny said, walking after his teacher.
"Rachel?" he said, surprising her.
"Danny? Is there something wrong?" She asked.
"Can we talk? Somewhere private?" He asked, surprising her more.
Knowing that the back doors of the gym were unlocked, Rachel lean him outside and waited.
"Look, I'm still lost about the whole 'being your crush' thing, but I feel I need to get this out of the way," Danny said, taking a breath.
"Rachel, I...I mean...It's..." Danny tried to say but felt the words get stuck.
"Take your time, don't force yourself," Rachel said, knowing these words could decide what happens to both of them.
Danny took another breath, feeling himself calm down.
"Rachel, since we met, I thought you were another teacher that was under the A-Lister's thumb. However, when I saw you stand up to them as well as the other teachers, I started to see you differently. A teacher that stood against the way the school works? Sounds like we have someone that's are our side. And then you pick me as your tour student. Not once have you treated me like a loser or some kind of freak. When we stand hanging out more, I saw more sides to you. Someone that wasn't just a teacher. I'm still surprised that I'm your crush and I didn't see the signs. Maybe I am clueless." Danny sighs.
"But as I think about everything that's happened, I don't think I can..." Danny tried to say, only freeze up on his words.
"Can what?" Rachel asked, looking sad.
Danny looks down. His brain was telling me to say no about the relationship while his heart told him to at least try it. It felt like he was battling two sides of himself before sighing.
"I...I'm not sure about this. My brain is telling me no. My heart is telling me to try. I'm not sure which side to listen to." Danny said, looking away.
"Both parts of you are in the right. But, Danny, I want to let you know whichever you choose, I'll still be your friend. Yes, I'll be heartbroken, but you and your sister have given me advice about my actions and I couldn't be happier to know you. Even if you said yes, I will not act like a girlfriend in public. I won't do anything without your permission nor would I try to keep others away from you. I love you, Danny, but I also want you to be happy." Rachel said.
Danny looked surprised. His two sides stop fighting and just stare at Rachel. She loves him but also wants him to be happy.
"Well, I guess, I can..." Danny started only to hear a roar coming from the football field.
"What was that?" Rachel asked, looking towards the field, and seeing a blue dragon.
"Wha..." Rachel asked, surprised.
Danny had to act. He didn't even notice his ghost sense appearing when talking to Rachel. Speaking of which, he had to get her out of here.
"Rachel, we need to make sure everyone is okay," Danny said, pulling open the door.
Rachel looks at him, confused. But knew he was right. She could also see that there was something in his eyes that told her he'll be fine.
"Okay, if you find anyone out here, tell them to get as far away from the school as possible." She said, rushing inside.
Danny nods and closes the door. He'll have to work this out later, for now, he has a ghost dragon to stop.
Ten minutes later,
Danny panted, surprised to learn that Sma was given the necklace that he gave Paulina before he asked Rachel to the dance. Now that Sam and Paulina were safe, he could return to the dance or what was left of it. Sam was still passed out and Tucker offer to take her home. Danny nods and saw Rachel standing by the doors, looking a bit worried. Danny walked up to her and touch her arm.
"Danny?! Oh, thank god!" She said, hugging the boy.
"Sorry, Rachel. Wanted to make sure no one was outside before I came in." Danny said, patting his teacher's back.
Rachel could see they were alone and pulled Danny into a kiss, surprising him again.
"Sorry, I was so worried." She said, breaking it.
"I...um..." Danny said, shuttering.
That was twice he was kissed by an older woman. It felt like his heart was starting to win over his brain.
"Rachel, I gave it some more thought and decide that I would like to try it," Danny said, shocking her.
"You mean..." She asked, surprised.
"Y-Yeah, but we can't let anyone know. I haven't told Tucker or Sam about this." Danny said, looking away.
"A smart idea. We might as well limit ourselves to keep others from noticing. How, about we act like a couple at my home, and when it's the two of us?" She asked.
"That sounds like a good idea. And if it doesn't work out, at least we tried." Danny said, blushing.
Rachel nods. She then recalls something she overheard with his friends.
"You owe me a dance." She said, making Danny blink.
"But the DJ left," Danny said.
Rachel smiles and walks over to the turntable. She sets up the music and walks over to Danny. Danny looks surprised before blushing.
"May I have this dance?" He asked, holding out his hand.
"Yes, you may," Rachel said, taking it.
Due to their size differences, Danny had a bit of trouble of holding on to Rachel, but she let him place his hands on her hips as she held his shoulders. Rachel smiles, at long last, she has her crush. However, she now must be more careful. Danny was only a teenager and he could get in trouble if they were spotted acting more than a teacher and student. There were still so many things she wanted to do with him, but she knew she had to take this slow.
'I'm going to have so many wet dreams tonight.' She thought as she and Danny dance the rest of the night away.
And here it is! The school dance. Though Danny was still unsure about entering a relationship with Rachel, he decided to follow the same advice that Rachel was given. They are now a couple but they have to be careful and take it slow. As some of you can guess, Rachel wants to have sex with Danny, but she doesn't want to force him into it. If this turns you away from this story, that's okay. I warned you all before. And the fight with Dragon Sam is the same as the show. Only this time, Sam remains past out and Danny dances with Rachel instead.
