Ch.2 Canterlot Throwdown
Ranma looked around the school. It was packed with people talking and gossiping about everything they could think of. Suddenly, he felt the eyes of most of the students on him, and he began to feel very self-conscious.
"Why are they all staring at me?" Ranma asked. Rarity turned to Ranma.
"No offense darling, but, look at the way you're dressed."
Ranma looked down at his attire, then looked back at Rarity.
"What's wrong with the way I'm dressed?" He asked.
The girls looked at each other and then back at Ranma.
"Well, no offense intended but...You look like something out of a Bruce Lee movie." Said Sunset.
Ranma just looked at her and the rest of the girls as he tilted his head to the side.
"So?" He asks, still not seeing the problem.
Rainbow Dash shook her head and walked up to Ranma, throwing an arm around his shoulders.
"Forget it. Let's just get you over to the principles' office so you can get your schedule."
Ranma sighed. "Sure. Which way?"
"I'd be more than happy to show you." Said a unfamiliar voice.
Ranma and the others turned around and saw, in Ranma's humble opinion, the most BEAUTIFUL woman he had ever seen in his 16 years of life.
She was around 5' 9", had long flowing hair of varying shades of green, blue and pink. She had purple eyes, flawless skin, full pouty lips, and the most amazing figure. Her breasts were even BIGGER than Fluttershys'! And her hips were wide enough to support a booty that could put any stripper to shame!
She was wearing a tannish cream jacket with a purple and white striped shirt underneath, purple tight-fitting pants, and shoes that matched her jacket. Ranma gulped.
"Hello Ranma. My name is Celestia, I'm the principal of this school."
The woman introduced herself. The girls waved to the older woman.
"Hi Principal Celestia!" The girls said in unison. Celestia waved back at the girls.
"Hello girls. So, I see you've met our newest student. Twilight, would you do me a favor and show Ranma to my office? Then we can get him squared away."
Twilight beamed. "Sure, Principle Celestia."
And with that, Principal Celestia walked off. Pinkie couldn't help but notice that Ranma was watching Celestia as she strutted off.
"Ooohhh...So you got a thing for older women eh Ranma?" She asked as she nudged him with her shoulder. Ranma just tilted his head to the side.
"Has she ever done martial arts before?" Was all he said in response.
Pinkie pouted at him.
"Really?" She said in mild disappointment. "That's what you're thinking about? An ass that could shake the Earth, boobs that look like they belong on a sex goddess, an all-around dynamite body that could please any man or woman, and all you can think about is whether or not she's done martial arts in the past?! Really?!"
Ranma just kept looking at the principal's retreating form. As everyone looked at him quizzically, Sunset decided to break the somewhat uncomfortable silence.
"Uh, what makes you think she study martial arts?"
"Her knuckles and legs." Ranma said as if it were obvious.
The girls still looked like he had grown a second. Finally seeing their confused looks, Ranma sighed and held out his closed fist.
"See how my knuckles are larger and more pronounced than say...Rarity's." Ranma said as he pointed at Rarity's more dainty looking hand. "That's because I've conditioned my hand through rigorous training for many years. I noticed that the principal's knuckles are much larger than the average persons. Plus, her legs..."
"What about those long shapely legs of hers?" Interrupted Pinkie. Ranma looked at her, slightly annoyed.
"They're very well-muscled. Plus, the way she walks...No wasted movement. And she doesn't even make a sound when she walks."
The girls thought about what he said. And they realized, for as long as they had known her, Principal Celestia had a really good habit of sneaking up on people. Whenever she came around, no one ever heard her make so much as a sound, even when she was wearing high heels.
"Huh, I've never thought of Principal Celestia being a fighter." Said Rainbow Dash.
"But then again, there was that one time that I kept interrupting her class and she sneaked up on me and...well, I don't want to talk about it." She said while suppressing a shiver.
Seeking to change the subject, Twilight spoke up.
"Uh, so Ranma, let's get you over to the principal's office. That way we can get your schedule."
Ranma just shrugged. "Sure, I guess." And with that, Ranam and Twilight headed off down the hall. As they did, Pinkie just huffed.
"HMMMMMM! Why does Twilight get to go with the cute new guy?" She said as she pouted. The rest of the girls just laughed at their friend.
As Ranma and Twilight headed down the hall, Twilight pointed out a few classrooms to Ranma so as to try and give him some landmarks to help him find his way around. After a few minutes, they arrived at the door to the principles' office.
They knock on the door and a voice says "Come in." As they opened the door Ranma saw yet another stacked and beautiful girl. She resembled Celestia, but her skin was slightly darker, her hair was sapphire blue with streaks of grayish Persian blue, and her eyes were a beautiful cyan. She was wearing a purple shirt with a white collar with a crescent moon emblem on it and dark purple pants with white heeled shoes.
She looked up from her desk and smiled at the two.
"Hello Twilight. And this must be our newest student, Ranma, wasn't it?"
Ranma nodded. "Yeah, uh. The principle said she'd meet us here."
The girl nodded her head. "Well, allow me to introduce myself. I'm Vice Principle Luna. I'm Principle Celestia's sister."
'I can tell.' Thought Ranma.
"If you kids will just sit over there my sister should be back soon." Luna gestured to a couple of seats. Ranma and Twilight walked over to the chairs and sat down. After waiting for a while, Celestia finally returned to the office.
"Aw. Twilight, Ranma, hope I didn't keep you waiting too long. Now, Ranma, if you'll come with me, we'll discuss your future here at CHS."
Ranma got up and followed Celestia into her private office. As they walked, Ranma tried his hardest not to stare at Celestia's wide, plump budonkadonk.
As they entered, Celestia closed the door and motioned for Ranma to take a seat across from her desk.
"Now, Mr. Saotome..."
"Ranma." He cut her off.
"Huh?" Celestia asked somewhat taken aback.
"My name is NOT Saotome. It's just Ranma. Period. I've officially disowned myself from that bastard." Ranma stated matter-of-factly.
"Ranma!" Celestia exclaimed. "First of all, we do not use profanity at this school. Second, that is no way to speak about your own father."
Ranma just glared at her. "That CREEP is NOT my father! I cut off all ties I had with that creep when I left him in China! I have absolutely no relation to that no good, two-bit, son of a..." Celestia gave Ranma a death glare.
"...Gun." Celestia relaxed her glare.
"In any case Mr. Sao..." Ranma returned the earlier death glare. "I mean Ranma." He nods his head in acceptance.
"There is still the matter of your past school records." She continues while pulling out a file with Ranma's name on it. She opens it on top of her desk.
"It says here that you basically have next to no formal education. And that even when you attended middle school, you barley stayed for more than a year and a half."
Ranma looked down in shame. "To be fair, my old man literally dragged me out of that."
Celestia just looked at him skeptically and made a "Mhmm" sound.
"And it also says that you were quite the delinquent. Getting into fights literally every day. In class, during lunch, during free period..."
"Hey hey hey!" Ranma protested. "I never started those fights! I just finished them." He said crossing his arms.
"Regardless," Celestia continued. "You participated in those fights. And I will let you know right now that I will not tolerate that kind of behavior here at my school." Celestia said as she rose from her seat and walked around her desk to stand in front of Ranma.
"Huh. That's funny coming from someone who was once a serious martial arts practitioner." Ranma said. Celestia looked taken aback.
"Don't try to deny it. I could tell just from looking at your hands and legs." Celestia regained her composer.
"Well, as a martial artist, you should know that fighting should only be a LAST resort. Not a first." She said to the young man. Ranma crossed his arms.
"I'm aware." He said to her in an annoyed tone of voice. "But those jerk-offs didn't really give me a lot of choices."
"A likely story." Said Celestia. "Still, have you ever considered that maybe you being a martial artist is what draws them to challenge you to all these fights?"
Ranma looked at her with a quizzical look on his face. "Maybe. What's your point?"
"I agreed to let you enroll into this school because Master Asia is an old friend of mine. So, I will make this as clear as I can young man. If you cause any kind of destruction or property damage, or engage in any kind of fights or destructive behavior, I will not only expel you, I will personally see to it that you are permanently black listed from any and all schools within this half of the country. Do I make myself clear!" Celestia exclaimed.
"Crystal." Ranma replied shrinking back into his seat. Celestia then pulled a complete 180 and smiled sweetly at the intimidated young man.
"Ok then." She said as she went back to her desk and pulled out a class schedule.
"So, here's your schedule, and since you seem to get along with Twilight and her friends, at least one of them will be in each of your classes so you can have them show you the way." She said as she handed the schedule to Ranma.
"Thanks" Ranma said as he accepted the slip of paper with his schedule on it. Celestia then leads Ranma out to where Twilight was still waiting for them.
"Twilight, would you be a dear and show Ranma to homeroom?" Celestia asked one of her favorite students.
"Sure!" Twilight said, beaming with pride. Celestia smiled.
"Good! Ok then, off to class you two. We don't want Ranma to be late on his first day here at CHS." With that, Celestia ushered the two of them to the door and bid them farewell.
Twilight looked at Ranma, "So, how did your talk with principle Celestia go?" Ranma just looked at her with a scared look on his face.
"That. Woman. Scares me." Was all he could say.
Twilight looked at him quizzically. "Scares you? She's the nicest person I know. How can you be scared of her?"
"Well," Ranma began, "She sure doesn't seem to like the fact that I got into a few fights back in my younger years." He then looked at Twilight, "And call me crazy, but I think she doesn't like the fact that I'm a martial artist."
"Why would you think that?" Twilight asked. Ranma looked at her.
"Call it a hunch."
Twilight just shook her head. "Whatever." She then heard the bell. "AAAGGGHHHHH! THE BELL! We need to hurry or we'll be LATE!" She then grabs Ranma by the arm and drags him towards their first class.
They arrive at their homeroom just in time for the last bell.
"Whew! Made it."
As they walked into the classroom, the homeroom teacher spotted them.
"Ah, Twilight! And this must be the new transfer student. Well Twilight, you go ahead and take your seat and our new friend here can introduce himself."
Twilight did as she was told and Ranma went up to the front of the class. He looked around and swallowed a lump in his throat.
"Hi, I'm Ranma. I don't really have a last name. I kind of disowned myself and I really don't want to talk about it. But other than that, I hope we can all get along."
As he finished, everyone in the class started whispering amongst themselves. Ranma was starting to feel very self-conscious. He really didn't want to be the center of too much attention.
'That's what got me in trouble at my last school.' He thought to himself.
"Now class, pipe down. As for you Mr. Ranma No Last Name, you can sit next to..."
"OH! OH! OH! OH! Pick me! Pick me! Hi new friend Ranma!" Cried a very familiar voice. Ranma looked out into the sea of students and low-and-behold, there was the weird girl from earlier, Pinkie Pie.
"Quiet down Miss Pie!" The teacher shouted at the overly excitable girl. "And very well. Ranma, you can sit in that empty seat by Miss Pie."
Ranma nodded his head and walked over to the seat in question. And it went on for, in Ranma's opinion, FOREVER! He had never been so bored since waiting for a certain rival of his when he was challenged to a final showdown. Homeroom wasn't so bad, but the rest of the classes were so lame!
Math drove him crazy, he didn't understand why students who already spoke English had to take a class called English, Science made no sense, the only saving grace he had was P.E. and lunch. Speaking of lunch, Ranma was just on his way to the cafeteria when he got lost.
'Now I know how it feels to be Ryoga.' He thought. Suddenly, he heard a friendly and familiar voice.
"Hey there Bruce Lee." Ranma spun around and standing behind him was the red-headed girl, Sunset Shimmer.
"Or do you prefer Jackie Chan?" She asked with a smug look on her face. Ranma laughed at her joke.
"Very funny Sunset." He retorted. Sunset crossed her arms over her chest.
"Lost huh?" It was more of a statement than a question. Ranma rubbed his right arm and hung his head in shame.
"Yeah. A little." He admitted. Sunset took his arm in hers and started leading him along.
"Follow me Karate Kid." She said with a giggle. As they reached the cafeteria, they saw Sunset's friends waving them over to the line.
"Ranma! Sunset! We saved you guys a spot in line!" Cried Pinkie. Sunset and Ranma soon joined up with their friends and started talking about how their day was going. And while Ranma spoke good English, he could not for the life of himself understand half of the weird slang lingo that Rarity was saying. Or the scientific mumbo jumbo Twilight was going on about.
After getting their food, Apple Jack spoke up.
"Come on y'all. Let's eat outside today! It's a perfect sun shiny day and it be a plum shame to waste it."
"Can't argue with that!" Said Rainbow Dash.
"Me neither. I need some fresh air after all the crap this place is putting me through." Ranma agreed. The girls laughed, all except Twilight.
"Crap? CRAP?! How could you say that? All the fantastic wonderful things the teachers taught us! The amazing..."
"Man, she really loves school, doesn't she?" Ranma asked Sunset as Twilight kept rambling. Sunset giggled.
"You have no idea."
As the group of friends sat down in the shade of a large tree in the court yard, they started talking about what they planned on doing after school and on the weekend. Ranma then decided to voice what was on his mind.
"So, Rainbow, where are we going to have our sparing match? I've got the feeling that Principal Celestia wouldn't approve of us doing it here." Rainbow Dash rubbed her arm and chuckled.
"Yeah, she wouldn't like that. I tried opening a karate club on campus once and she shot me down faster than, well, Pinkie Pie rushing to the bakery on 'All you can eat for free' day."
"And believe-you-me, that is very fast." Pinkie chimed in. Apple Jack decided to add her two cents.
"Why don't y'all have it at the rec center? I'm sure they won't mind."
Rainbow Dash perked up at the suggestion. "Yeah! The basketball court there would be the perfect spot for it. What do you say Ranma?
Ranma thought for a moment, then answered.
"Sure, that's fine by me."
"Oh, do you guys really have to fight?" Fluttershy asked. Pinkie slung her arm around Fluttershy's shoulders.
"Oh relax, they're not really fighting to hurt each other. They just want to have fun with each other in their own unique way." Fluttershy still didn't look all too convinced.
"Well, I still don't like it." Ranma looked at her quizzically.
"Why?" He asked her.
"I just don't like seeing people get hurt. That's all." She answered. Ranma didn't like the sad look on her face.
"Oh, well...Uh..." Ranma was at a loss for what to say. In all of the fights he'd been in, no one had really expressed concern for either him or the person he was fighting. Thankfully, Rainbow came in to save him.
"Look Fluttershy," She began. "Don't think of it as us fighting. Just think of it like, when me and Apple Jack are having one of our contests against each other." That seemed to take some of the edge off of Fluttershy's concern.
"Ok. But I'm still not a big fan of the idea."
"Well, I'm not a big fan of it either." Rarity chimed in. "Why must you insist on intentionally putting yourselves at risk of bruising and other types of bodily harm."
"You wouldn't understand." Ranma simply said. Rarity looked at him in a huff.
"And what's that supposed to mean?" She asked him.
"Well, no offense," Ranma started. "But you just seem like the kind of person who would rather spend her time making herself look pretty than doing something physically exerting." Rarity looked offended but Rainbow dash and Apple Jack were trying their hardest to suppress a fit of laughter. Pinkie on the other hand, burst out laughing.
"AAAHHAAAA ha haa haa! He's got you pegged real good Rarity! And he's only known you for a day! Aha ha ha!"
"UH! Well excuse me for not wanting to ruin a good facial and manicure by doing something so sweaty and barbaric!" Rarity exclaimed.
"You do know you just proved his point, right?" Sunset said to her pampered friend.
Everyone burst out laughing at that. Even Rarity couldn't help but chuckle a little. Soon however, lunch ended and it was back to class. And when the last bell of the day rang, Ranma couldn't be happier.
"FREEDOM!" He cried out in his best Mel Gibson impression.
"Oh, come on Ranma," Twilight said, following behind him. "There's no reason to be so dramatic." But as she said this, she turned around and rubbed her hand against the school.
"Until tomorrow my love." She said in a sad voice. The rest of her friends just shook their heads at the bespectacled girl.
"So, where's this rec center at?" Ranma asked the girls.
"Come on champ, follow me." Rainbow Dash said as she walked over to her motorcycle.
"You can ride with me. But if you try to feel me up, you're a dead man." She said to Ranma. He placed his hand over his heart and raised his opposite hand.
"I hear by solemnly swear." And with that, Rainbow handed him her spare helmet and he hopped on. A few minutes later, they arrived at the rec center. Ranma got off the bike and fllowed Rainbow into the building.
As soon as he and the girls entered the building, Rainbow turned to Ranma.
"Ok. The basketball court is just through that door. Go out there and wait while I get changed. Ok?" Ranma nodded.
"Ok." Ranma said as he walked off into the gymnasium.
But as soon as he walked in, he was hit by the sound of a huge crowd of people cheering. Then as he headed to the center of the gym, he saw Pinkie, dressed in a referee outfit, standing in the center.
"Uh, Pinkie...Why are all these people here?" Ranma asked the dark pink haired girl.
"Oh! Well, Rainbo Dash is the reigning champion of the Canterlot martial arts scene. Everyone loves watching her fight! Sooooooo, I thought they would LOVE to see her defend her title against a mysterious young fighter from the east! So, I invited EVERYONE to watch your fight! And I appointed myself as commentator."
"O...k...?" Ranma said apprehensively.
"Now, get over to your corner and get ready." Pinkie said as she shooed him to his corner and pulled out a microphone.
"Aaaalllllllrrrrriiiggghhhhtttt! Are you guys ready for a throwdown!?" Pinkie shouts into the mike, earning a large round of cheers from the gathered audience.
"Alrighty then! In the corner to my left, you know her. You love her. She's the captain of just about EVERY sports team at Canterlot High! She's fast! She's powerful! She's the sporty cutie with the ghetto booty!" At that last comment, an empty bucket smacked Pinkie right in the face, sinking her face in like a cartoon character getting hit.
"PINKIE! We've been over this! I DO NOT HAVE A GETTO BOOTY!" Shouted Rainbow Dash as she crossed her arms over her chest off in the corner. "I have a plump, curvaceous bubble butt, there's a difference." She muttered under breath.
Pinkie just pulled her face back out and looked exasperated before continuing.
"Anyway. Here she is! Your Canterlot High martial arts champion! RRRRRRRRAINBOW DASSSSSSSHHHHHHH!"
And as Pinkie shouted this out, rock music started playing as a spotlight shown on Rainbow Dash. She jogged out onto the floor and started blowing kisses to the crowd as they cheered her on. She was wearing a black sporty tank top, baggy blue shorts, and Muy Thai wraps around her arms and legs. She jogged up to Pinkie as the cheers started to die down.
"Aw! Why did you wear the baggy shorts? I wanted to see that booty bounce!" Pinkie wined as her friend reached the center of the floor.
"Shut up Pinkie!" Rainbow said to her friend, her face blushing. Pinkie sighed.
"*Sigh* Ok." She then immediately perked back up. "Anyway. In the other corner! From the far east! Admittedly, we don't know much about him. But what we DO about him, is that he's cute, he's strong, and according to Rainbow Dash, he can kung fu it up with the best of them! From the land of the rising sun! The home of ninja, samurai, anime, and hentai!" Ranma and everyone else face palms. "Give it up for...RRRRRAAANNNMMMAAAAAAAA...Whatever his last name is because he won't tell us!"
A spotlight shone down on Ranma as he looked out into the crowed. He chuckled nervously as he approached the center of the court.
"Alright you two. I want you to have good clean fight. No eye gauges (pokes herself in the eyes), no fish hooking (hooks her own mouth), and absolutely no hitting below the belt. Oh, and cool it on the faces ok? Those are your money makers. Heh, actually, yours is only one of your money makers Rainbow Dash."
Rainbow Dash bonks Pinkie on her head.
"OWIE!" Pinkie cried out as she rubbed her head.
"Ok, ok. Now, both of you, go to your corners, and when that bell rings come out fighting! But remember to have fun!" She said as she rushed off to her announcers' chair.
Ranma and Rainbow Dash turned and walked over to their respective sides of the gym. Ranma leaned down and stretched his legs out. Rainbow stretched out her own legs, arms, and back. They stared each other down, their fighting spirits manifesting as bright battle auras; Ranma's a bright blue and Rainbow's a brighter cyan.
"Aaaaaannnnnddddddd there's the bell!" Pinkie said as she rang the bell.
Rainbow charged at Ranma. He dodged her initial jumping side kick and retaliated with a low sweeping kick that knocked her off her feet. Rainbow rolled back onto her feet before Ranma could land his follow up falling axe kick on her and preformed a similar sweeping kick that hit him square in the face.
"Rainbow Dash charges at Ranma! Ranma retaliates, but...OOOOO! Rainbow nails Ranma in the face!"
Ranma reeled from the kick. He shook his head to clear it, and gazed at his opponent. He got up, and went into a loose Jeet Kune Do stance. Rainbow got up and stared Ranma down. They circled each other, then Ranma charged at her with a barrage of punches and kicks.
Rainbow blocked and dodged as much as she could, but Ranma was just too fast! Suddenly, Ranma parried her arm down and struck her in the neck, then trapped her in an arm lock and took her down. But before he could lock her down, Rainbow lashed out with another kick, knocking him away then rushing back to her feet.
"Ranma dodges Rainbow's best hits! Oh no! Rainbow's down! Ranma goes in for the finish, but, Oh! Rainbow kicks her way out!"
Ranma recovered his senses just in time to see Rainbow Dash tackle him. Instead of taking him to the ground, like he thought she would, she got him into a Muay Thai clench and began to hit him with knee strikes to the solar plexus.
"Uh oh! Rainbow has Ranma in the clench!"
Ranma knew he had to think of something and fast. He struck his elbow into Rainbows next knee strike. The pain caused Rainbow to loosen her grip, which gave Ranma the opportunity to retaliate with a rising elbow strike to Rainbow's chin, followed by a chop to the temple and a transition to a guillotine choke. He then wrapped his free arm around her waist and suplexed her to the ground.
"OUCH! That had to hurt!"
As they both got back to their feet, Rainbow Dash decided to up the ante. She came at Ranma with two shuffling sidekicks, then followed it up with a tornado kick and a spinning hook kick. Ranma parries the sidekicks, side stepped the tornado kick and then ducks under the final kick. He then retaliated with a hand stand kick, then followed with a crouching spin kick to her mid-section, a combination side kick/back kick to her chest, and finally powerful 540 tornado kick that sent the rainbow haired girl flying.
"Rainbow gets back on her feet. She comes at Ranma with a barrage of kicks. But, OH! Ranma retaliates with some fancy kicks of his own. Rainbow Dash really needs to up her game if she wants to beat this guy."
After shaking the dizziness out of her head, Rainbow Dash slammed her fist on the floor in frustration. She had to admit one thing, he was good. But she wouldn't give up without a fight. Returning to her feet, she charged at Ranma again, this time coming at him with a feint that turned into a low scissor kick. But to her, and everyone else's surprise, Ranma jumped and flipped over her surprise attack!
Rainbow, Pinkie, and everybody else just gaped at Ranma's incredible jump. Everyone was speachless. When Ranma landed from his 'Superman' leap, he looked back at his opponent, only to see her with her jaw almost to the floor.
"What?" Ranma asked as if what he did was no big deal.
"OK, ya'll saw that right?" Applejack asked as Ranma landed behind the recovering Rainbow Dash.
"You mean Ranma defying the laws of gravity by jumping 10 feet into the air and doing three flips before landing like it was no big deal?" Replied Twilight. "Yes. Yes we did."
"How can anyone jump that high without any help?" Asked Rarity as she watched the fight with a sudden interest.
"I don't know?" Replied Sunset. Her eyes went wide as a thought suddenly interred her head. "You don't think that he might be using magic, do you?"
Applejack suddenly got angry. "Now that's just straight up cheating!"
Fluttershy looked at the two martial artists down on the gym floor.
"He doesn't seem to be cheating. If he is using magic, wouldn't he have used something a little more obvious?" She asked.
The rest of the girls thought about what their friend said. True, if he was using magic, wouldn't he have done something bigger and flashier like some of the other enemies they had faced. Sunset steeled herself as she decided to take the leadership role.
"We'll wait until the end of the fight. After it's done, then we'll interrogate Ranma about how he did that."
The others nodded and went back to watching the fight.
Meanwhile back on the floor, Rainbow Dash continued to be slack jawed by the incredible feet of acrobatic ability that her opponent had just preformed.
"That. Was...AWESOME!" Pinkie shouted. "I can't believe what I just saw! Ranma preformed a jump that puts Olympic athletes to shame!"
"HOW...How did you do that!?" She asked. Ranma just smirked.
"Acrobatics are the core of my fighting style. THAT...was just a basic jump for me."
Rainbow looked even more dumbfounded.
'That was a BASIC JUMP!?' She thought to herself. 'He called that a basic jump!?'
If that was a basic jump, what did he consider to be more advanced. She shook her head, she could be impressed with his skills later. Right now, she needed to focus if she wanted to win this fight.
She jumped back to her feet and charged at Ranma again. Ranma went for a low spinning leg sweep but Rainbow flipped over it. Ranma looked back just in time to roll away from Rainbow's low back kick then counter with an uppercut to her stomach, another uppercut to her chin a side horse stance punch to her midsection followed by a shuffling side kick that sent her flying. Just as Rainbow Dash got herself together again, Ranma ran right up to her and executed a perfect backflip summersault kick that knocked her right back onto the ground.
"And again, with the acrobatics! Once again Ranma shows that he is not all talk and no KA-POW!" Pinkie exclaimed from her perch.
Ranma landed back in his fighting stance, looking at the downed form of Rainbow Dash. She struggled to her feet, pain racked her body as she stared at Ranma. For some reason, even though he was winning, Ranma looked annoyed.
"Why are you holding back?" He asked Rainbow Dash out of the blue. She looked stunned.
"Wh-what do you mean? I'm giving this everything I've got." She protested. Ranma just glared.
"No, you're not. I can always tell when someone is holding back. If you're not going to give this your all then I don't even know why we're fighting! So, stop holding back and fight me with everything you've got!"
Rainbow Dash glared at Ranma.
"Alrigth. You want serious? I'll give you serious!"
And with that, Rainbow charged at Ranma at full speed. She launched a jump spinning hook kick at Ranma, only to for him to dodge it and counter with a spinning heel kick of his own. Rainbow back stepped out of the way then followed with a barrage of jabs and that Ranma managed to parry.
They disengaged, then Ranma attacked with a flying sike kick, only for Rainbow Dash to disappear in a flash of, well, rainbow light.
"Huh!?" Ranma screamed in surprise as he lands from his kick. He looks around for the rainbow haired girl, only to be hit in the back by one fast and powerful surprise attack from behind.
He got up and shook his head. He looked around only to get hit by another surprise attack from a rainbow streak. Ranma recovered his senses just in time to roll away from another attack. He got back to his feet and the multicolored streak stopped to reveal Rainbow Dash, smirking at the pig-tailed boy.
"WOW! Rainbow Dash just pulled out all the stops and is using her signature super speed! How will Ranma manage to compete against someone with that kind of speed?"
While everyone cheered, Rainbow Dash's friends were not so enthusiastic.
"Um, I think Rainbow Dash is the one cheating now." Fluttershy commented.
"I know he told her to stop holding back, but this is going too far!" Applejack chimed it. "If this guy was using magic, it would be different. But since we don't know if he was or not, this just makes things unfair."
"Leave it to Rainbow Dash to take competitions like this too far." Rarity agreed shaking her head.
"We'll have to give her a talking to as well I guess." Sunset chimed in.
Back on the floor, Ranma was shocked at just how fast this woman could run.
"How the heck did you do that?" He asked dumbfounded.
"You're not the only one with fancy tricks up your sleeves." Rainbow Dash replied with a cocky smirk of her own. "Should I hold back for you a little pretty boy?" She asked mockingly.
To her surprise, Ranma just grinned.
"Are you kidding? This fight just got a lot more interesting!" And with that, Ranma charged at her again.
Rainbow used her speed and dashed out of the way. Ranma watched as Rainbow literally ran circles around him at breakneck speed. She came at Ranma again, trusting his instincts, Ranma managed to parry Rainbows attacks but was still unable to land any blows of his own.
But after a few passes, Ranma started to pick up on her rhythm and patterns, and after a few more passes, he decided to create an opening.
"What's with the rainbow streak? Are you some kind of walking/running gay rainbow pride mascot or something?"
That insult got under Rainbow's skin. Seeing red, she charged at Ranma at full speed.
"For your information, I'M STRAIGHT!" Rainbow rushed straight for Ranma, but at the last second, Ranma ducked and sweep kicked her feet right out from under her. Rainbow was caught off guard and went flying straight into the wall.
"Ouch." Ranma said as he watched Rainbow crash into the wall.
"Rainbow Dash!" Pinkie cried as she rushed to her friend. "Rainbow Dash! Not only did you just get beaten by the new guy, but he also turned your signature super speed against you. So tell us, how does that make you feel?" Pinkie asked as she pointed her microphone at Rainbow.
"Aw shut up Pinkie!" Rainbow shouted at her friend.
"No comment at this time at this time. Back to you Pinkie." She said to herself as she dashed back to her commentator booth.
"Thank you, Pinkie. You're welcome, Pinkie. Oh, stop it Pinkie." Pinkie kept saying to herself.
"PINKIE!" Everyone in the gym said to her.
"Oh, heh heh, sorry. Ahem, anyway; The winner and your new Canterlot High martial arts champion...RANMA!"
The whole crowd cheered as Ranma nervously waved to them. He then rushed over to Rainbow Dash and pride her off the wall.
"I'm sorry about that. Are you ok?" Ranma asked as he helped her to her feet. Rainbow shook the cobwebs out of her head.
"Yeah, I'm ok. But wow, heh heh, that was a nice move you pulled there." Rainbow blushed. Ranma just chuckled.
"Yeah but, that super speed of yours was amazing! What technique were you using?" Ranma asked.
"Technique?" Rainbow said quizzically.
"AHEM!" Said a voice from behind them. The two fighters turned around to see Pinkie with a very sadistic look on her face.
"Now that that's over," She pulled out a very revealing cheerleader outfit.
"I've got this sexy little number with your name on it Rainbow Dash!" She started to chuckle evilly. Rainbow looked at the revealing outfit and gulped. But then, Ranma came to her rescue.
"Um, yeah, she doesn't have to do that." Ranma said. Pinkie looked at Ranma with a look of pure shock.
"But...but the bet! We made a bet and she lost! So she had to dress up in it!" Pinkie tried to tell him.
"Yeah, but I'm the winner of the bet and I decided to cancel it." Ranma said matter-of-factly. Pinkie looked so dejected. She pouted as Rainbow Dash wiped a bead of sweat off her brow.
"Well said their karate boy." Said Applejack as she and the rest of the girls came over to the three of them.
"Are...are you okay Rainbow Dash? That looked like it really hurt." Fluttershy said as she approached her friend.
"Heh heh. Ya I'm okay. No prob." Rainbow said confidently. Sunset then walked up to her.
"Good, because we need to have a talk." Rainbow gulped from the look Sunset was giving her.
"Hey, if this is about her using that crazy speed of hers then don't be mad at her. I'm the one who goaded her." Ranma said, standing up for his new found friend.
"Ranma, it's ok. I shouldn't have used my speed..." Rainbow Dash began.
"Why not?" Ranma asked, interrupting her. "If you've got an awesome technique for increasing your speed then why wouldn't you use it?"
"Technique?" Applejack asked quizzically.
"Wait, you think Rainbow used some technique to increase her speed?" Twilight asked.
"Yeah. How else would I be able to explain it?" Ranma replied. The girls all looked at each other.
"Um, maybe we should explain to him." Rarity said to her friends. Ranma looked at them weirdly.
"Explain what to me?" Ranma asked genuinely confused.
The girls took him outside, away from all the other people and went into their explanation.
"Well, Ranma, you were bound to find this out eventually, but, you see, Canterlot is not your 'run of the mill' town." Sunset started. "You see, magic is real and it's abundant here in this town."
Ranma was honestly shocked.
"Really?" He asked. Rainbow Dash took this moment to speak up.
"Yeah. And that super speed you saw me using, that was me using magic." She confessed.
"That was MAGIC!?" Ranma exclaimed.
"Yeah," Twilight took over. "While not everyone here can use magic, the seven of us have our own unique magic abilities." Now, Ranma was really interested.
"Let me guess, Rainbow's thing is super speed, right?" Ranma stated rather than asked.
"Heh heh, got me." Rainbow Dash said.
"What about the rest of you? What can you guys do? Ranma asked.
"Well, if we're doing a show and tell," Applejack started as she flexed her left arm. "I have super strength."
"Just how super are we talking here?" Ranma asked. Applejack then lifted him up with one arm.
"WHOA!" Ranma shouted as he was lifted up with the greatest of ease.
"That answer your question?" Applejack asked him. Ranma nodded.
"I believe ya." Ranma said as he was put back on the ground.
"What about the rest of you guys." Ranma asked, looking at the other girls.
"Well, I can create diamond force fields." Rarity said as she created a diamond shied for emphasis.
"Whoa! That's got to come in handy." Ranma said in amazement.
"I can make things I throw EXPLODE!" Pinkie said with a little too much enthusiasm.
"OK...remined me to never play catch with you, ok?" Ranma said a little nervously.
"What about you, Fluttershy?" Ranma asked the shy young girl.
"I..I can talk to animals." She said to the pigtailed boy.
"Really?! Wow! That's awesome!" Ranma said, making the young pink haired girl blush.
"I, on the other hand, have telekinesis." Twilight said with pride.
"You can move stuff with your mind? Ok, THAT, I'm jealous of." Ranma said, causing Twilight blush and smile with pride.
"Well, mine isn't as flashy. But I can read people's minds by touching them." Sunset said modestly.
"Oh, cool. But, um, do me a favor and don't do that to me. Ok?" Ranma asked nervously.
"Why? Something in that head you don't want us seeing?" Pinkie asked with a grin on her face. Ranma looked away, a sad look on his face.
"Let's just say there are some things in my past that I don't want to talk about and a lot of stuff I'd rather forget. Ok?"
The girls looked at Ranma sadly. Getting that whatever was in his head was personal, they did their best to change the subject. But Ranma did that for them.
"Anyway. Magic being real doesn't faze me. I've known that for a time." That got the attention of the girls.
"You have? How?" Twilight asked.
"Well," Ranma started. But fate answered for him, as a car drove right over a puddle of water and splashed it on Ranma.
The girls looked in shock and awe as the handsome young man they were talking to turned into a short, busty red head.
"Uh...What happened to Ranma? And where did that busty red head come from?" Pinkie asked.
"The busty red head is me, Pinkie." Ranma said as she brushed her now wet hair out of her eyes.
"RANMA!?" The girls shouted in shock.
"Yep. It's me." She said sadly. Suddenly, Pinkie was in front of her and fondling her large breasts.
"AAAGGGHHH!" Ranma shouted in shock.
"WOW! Their so BIG! AND SOFT! AND SQUISHY!" Pinkie exclaimed in pure delight. However, she soon found her hands twisted at the wrists by the now female Ranma.
"OW OW OW OW!" Pinkie shouted in pain as she dropped to her knees.
"You want to keep those hands of yours?" Ranma asked.
"I'd like that yes!" Pinkie said through the pain.
"Then hands off the merchandise!" Ranma said in frustration as she let go of the 'handsy' young girl.
"Ranma?" Sunset said, being the first, technically second, of the girls to snap out of her stupor. "How did you do that?"
Ranma looked down in shame.
"I'm cursed."
