It was pretty far so I might as well finish it. It won't be the end as most would be sprinkled in as the story progresses. Eclipsa is going to be a lot more involved in the rewrite along with Star. It will also mainly be in Mewni as it's a lot of work to make an oc dimension with oc characters, there will be other dimensions but they won't be too explored.
Queen Eclipsa entered the encampment of Mewni's invaders. Under a cloak and in the dead of night she entered undisturbed, not because she was as sneaky as she thought, but all already knew who she was. She's the only one who has fear and guilt. Feelings every knight here doesn't share.
Entering the biggest tent and removing her hood letting her curly hair drop to her waist. She was greeted with the sights of the captains of this terrifying band of knights. There were beings she still had a hard time looking upon. One especially, he was smelling like chocolate! Whenever she smelled him her mouth would water and it didn't help that he looked like a musculus man, he could have gone for a mewman if he hadn't been black like midnight. If she hadn't licked him that one time, she had no doubt he was living goodness. She was sorely disappointed. :(
Her silly thoughts and musings were killed as she gazed upon the general. When he had begun his terrorizing of Mewni that would be the most befitting title, but when she looked at him now there was no doubt he had the ability to be a queen. Instead of his battle armor was he in sharp militaristic clothing, the only thing off was the mask he wore. The white skull mask over the months invited fear and dread whenever seen on the battlefield.
It ate her up that he did all this for the sake of Mewni. He had singlehandedly stopped the civil war of Mewni and united the whole dimension by being the enemy. She wondered how he could use the knights he was so proud of like this. Letting them fight and die for a place they had never even been to before. She couldn't help but question.
"Marco are you sure of this? Queen Star is very much still able to be reconciled with. Furthermore, I can count on my hands the ones who know your true identity and I can guarantee their silence. Your knights won't have to suffer any more for we have reached our goal."
"Eclipsa you can relax with present company. You can try, but no one will be offended."
Marco sat upon his seat towering over all present. His white mask boosts his already intimidating aura. If she didn't know he was human she could easily take him for a being of mystic evil.
Instantly relaxing along with Marco who removes his mask, "Thank you! You have no idea how suffocating it is to mingle and keep aperances with the other queens here."
He shrugged which humored all. Despite having the air of a sovereign he acted so nonchalantly. He had no reason to keep up appearances. She couldn't fathom how he could afford not to keep up appearances in front of his vassals. The reason, however, was very simple but normally nigh impossible to reach. He had no contender, no inner faction and no one doubted his power. Or more precisely the power of his subordinates.
All in Mewni knew the power of the captains. There were stories of kingdom-wide destruction and inmewmane brutality, but there were none about him. There's only really one thing confirmed about his ability and that's a theory at best. Every time a sudden eclipse is birthed he's there. Every time that red dome of death appears he's there. And most understand that the latter is the worst of the two as no enemy had survived to tell of what's inside.
A feeling of curiosity manifest, but manage to be kept at bay.
"Anyway, I think this is enough. It would be stupid and a waste of lives to continue. Mewni is united, you can fall back and stop acting as Mewni's endbringer."
"It's united because I'm currently tieing it together. There is no glue to hold it in one piece once I'm gone."
"That's for us to deal with. You and your knights have done more than enough. Please... have trust in me, in Star."
He rose from his seat and the relaxation she had was replaced as he walked around the table past the captains. He hadn't said a word and was now in reaching distance of Eclipsa. He was standing in front of her and she hesitated to meet his gaze but did nonetheless.
He had a calculating gaze that showed nothing in terms of his thoughts about whether he trusted the rulers of Mewni or not.
"What about the other 9 kingdoms?" He didn't let her answer as he grabbed her shoulders and pulled them closer as his eyes bore into hers. Being a whole foot taller she had no choice but to look up. Their heads being a terribly few inches apart did his gaze pierce her.
She felt like he could see into her soul, but she had nothing to hide even if he could. She had done terrible things, but she believe, no she knows she was good at heart. She's always done what she thought was right and while that always comes with a cost. Her soul was tainted by her dark magic, but she didn't mind she knew better. She gazed back, mauve clashed with reddish-brown.
"The butterfly kingdom, the Johansen kingdom, the cloud kingdom along with my kingdom are good enough to be the glue until there can be found a more solid solution."
A small chuckle escaped from Marco along with a small smile that wasn't pleasant in the slightest. He had the pitying face of an adult that was dealing with a kid who was ignorant of the harsh world.
"Eclipsa you are merely tolerated while Queen Moon is your ally her nobles aren't. River holds no influence within the Johansen kingdom and King Pony Head has placed his trust in River's and Moon's judgment, not you."
A developing feeling of anger in her chest only deepens as his expression becomes amused. He moved a hand from her shoulder to remove a strand of hair that was resting down her face between her eyes. Not ever letting his fingers lose contact with her face as he moved to rest his hand on her cheek. The boy had become good at their little game, but perhaps he was becoming too good as she was beginning to be genuinely affected.
"You are clever and know this too, but you put faith that they can overcome their prejudge and difference for a better Mewni. And that's an awfully big amount, an amount you can't even grasp until it's too late."
She steels her gaze not faltering the slightest. "I don't care if you think it's idiotic or foolhardy. We- I have faith. You can't prove me wrong, it's not like you know the future."
"No, but I know history. Particularly your history." As the words left his lips the magic in her stirred dangerously. "chair!" Instantly a chair popped up behind Eclipsa. "Take a seat... Please?"
Reluctantly she did sit after his plea. But he's treading on dangerous grounds. "Human, you better mind with what you aren't familiar with."
An acknowledging nod was all the threat was dignified with, "It all starts with the most powerful talent of a Butterfly in Mewni history. Even before she was honored with the royal wand had the pressure been accumulating. Still, she was only surrounded by white roses and all loved it"
Eclipsa hid very well her emotion. However, that was only physical as he could feel it deep in her soul. Marco seemingly pulled a white rose from thin air.
"Slaughtering monsters at the tender age of 12 after learning the sword. It numbed her, yet the butterfly flew with speed and grace. On the battlefield she danced with death for her kingdom. Eventually, she inherited the royal wand. A shaky temporary treaty secured peace and she used her time pursuing the magic arts. However, she was surrounded by orange roses, but only nobody minded."
It was vague and impossibly faint, but there it was deep in her soul. Marco replaced the white rose with orange as the white fell to the ground.
"She would practice while the threat of war breath down her neck. A few years went by with only minor skirmishes until the mewman-monster war truly reignited and escalated. Her magic and herself were turned inside out for her duty. The duty was too heavy for her mother and then rested sorely on her as she was left alone. The ever tenacious butterfly was surrounded by blue roses, but only she didn't mind."
Her mask cracked as her emotion surfaced. Magic disrupted the nearby air with her every word as her purple veins pulsated, "What's your point? That was then, this is now."
"Let me finish," she meets his eyes. He could see the 300-year-old betrayal fresh on her face followed by anger and then grief. She could see his genuine sympathy and then feel as he held her contaminated hands giving a small squeeze and then letting go along with the blue rose.
"She braces with the defense and leads with the offense of her kingdom. Giving everything for her duty, she married a stranger. The war escalates and the duty gets heavier. The more she fights the loner she got. She treads onward for her duty demands. The strongest butterfly was surrounded by black roses, but only she minded."
She stared at him with teary eyes and he undauntedly stared back. She closes her wet eyes and clings to the words that came next.
"In her black state of mind, she leads the war to a reachable close. All it costed was the loneliness, but it's what duty required. In an ironic twist of fate would she find company with her sworn enemy after many dates on the battlefield, both realized their common wish for peace and slowly but surely her black roses turned violet inching closer to red yet violet it remained as the war continued."
Like a statue she listened even as she felt a rose settling in her hair.
"The butterfly so lonely and alone soon crossed a line no monster or mewnan had crossed before. Many attempts in the past for an heir as required by her duty, she nonetheless carried the child of a monster. She pleaded for her kingdom to make peace, but they wouldn't high on the prospect of victory. With no peace in sights she grew desperate, but it mattered little and her child would grow up fatherless. Her roses a dark violet."
A big figure in a cloak walked in, not that she would know. Her tears began anew for what was to come.
"The butterfly gave a painful birth, but not as painful as what followed soon after. The kingdom she sacrifised all of herself for turned against her. She always felt alone, however, now she truly knew. They view her as a monster and hunted her so and despite being the most powerful butterfly, she was weakned by prior labor. Her fate to be crystallized to the end of times."
"Marco, how do you? I never told you."
"Shouldn't you ask the point of my little tale?" The sassy attitude at the moment really pushed her when she didn't blast his head off. "My point is that it doesn't matter what you sacrificed or how much you helped, they will just see a monster."
"How can you possibly know? They aren't the people from 300 years ago."
Marco puffed a blue rose, "When you and your magic turned to the darker side they didn't complain, they tolerated. The nobles and MHC needed you even if they saw a monster because a bigger monster was on the horizon."
"And what? You will be that monster until its doom? I was at war with the lot of them and now we are allies even if shaky at best. But you need to trust us if not for us then for your knights who keeps paying with their lives."
" I need something more concrete than words and trust, Eclipsa-"
"How?! How am I supposed to do this?"
"What happened in the tale?"
"You want me to mother another child?"
"I want you to bring new life into Mewni," holding up a hand before another interruption, "Come here."
Finally being noticed by her did the hooded figure drop his disguise. "Wha- no, it. Surely not- it's you?"
There in all his glory stood Globgor in his speeders. "Eclipsa my-"
"Introduce him to the other royals, if you're still officially allied I'll leave. Now I'm sure you have a lot of shocks and catching up to do, but I have a raid to plan." Without further notice, he opened a portal for them. "Well don't just stand there go."
Eclipsa stared still in shock, "Marco didn't you say she would be happy to see me?"
"She is, but also worried, confussed and... It's complicated just grab her and go," he demanded.
"Wouldn't that be kidnapping?"
"Right," looking at the gentle giant he turns to her, "I'll do the kidnapping and you go."
"I doubt that's better," Not caring he pushed Globgor out as the shapeshifter let him.
"Marco... How's he back? I- oh god, I don't know how to feel or think. What of my kingdom?" Then it dawned on her. She only now registered "introduce". This is the proof he needed. If they saw her kingdom as enemies then Globgor would neutralize any diplomacy.
Grabbing her hands into his own he looks her in the eyes, "look don't think to hard. I'll be there at the next metting and I'm on your side no matter how it goes down."
"I trust that unity will hold." Letting herself be escorted through with practiced ease did the portal close.
The black man inching to share his thoughts "commander, I don't understand why there needs to be so much tension."
"Sexual tension I might add." One of the female captains added.
"Captains, this is nothing compared to when I'm acting as her personal butler. She enjoys freaking people out, making them almost squirm from the uncomfortably. It's kinda hard to turn off."
"But you enjoy it too?"
"Not at the start, but now? Most definitely even with the trouble, it causes."
"Why am I always serving madmen?"
"Feathers of a flock as your one yourself!"
"What was that you rabbit bitch!?"
