"Meow." Came the voice of an orange cat. The girls all looked at the cat and sighed in relief while Fluttershy just gushed and dashed over to the cat and picked it up and hugged it close.
"AW! She's soooooo CUTE!" Fluttershy said as she cuddled the kitty. The cat purred in her arms as she did so. Seeing that there was no immediate threat, Rainbow and Applejack lowered their guards. Spike, who had been sleeping in Twilights backpack, popped his head.
"CAT! Where's a cat!?" Twilight petted his head to calm him down.
"No chasing this cat Spike." She told him.
"Awww." Spike said and then looked over and took note of Ranma for the first time.
"Whoa. What happened to Ranma?" He asked with worry in his voice.
"I don't know," Rainbow Dash said with a sigh. "But I think it's clearly obvious that this can't be what knocked Ranma out." She said, pointing to the cat in Fluttershy's arms.
"Then, what the who-ha-hey did?" Applejack asked.
"Beats me." Sunset said, then her eyes widened as an idea popped into her head.
"But maybe the cat does," Sunset said. "Fluttershy, ask that cat if she knows what happened to Ranma."
Fluttershy nodded and turned to the kitten in her arms.
"Um, excuse me," She began to say. "But do you happen to know what happened to our friend in the red shirt over there?"
The kitten meowed in her own language and Fluttershy nodded her head as she listened to what the kitten had to say.
"Uh huh." She said as she listened. "Uh huh, uh huh, uh huh. I see. You're right, that is strange."
The others looked at her with expectant eyes as they waited for her to tell them what the cat was saying.
"Well?" Sunset asked. Fluttershy nodded her head to the cat one last time.
"Ok." She said as she turned to her friends.
"Well, Ms. Kitty here says that she saw Ranma walking in front of the alley and tried to walk over to him and try to talk to him. But when she did, he screamed and started freaking out. And when she got close to him, he just passed out."
"Huh!?" The group of girls all said as they tried to process what the busty pinkette had just told them. Twilight was the one to break the silence.
"Wait," Twilight said. "So, you're telling me, that Ranma freaked out, and then fainted, when a cat. A CAT. Came up to him?"
Fluttershy nodded. Silence followed. And that silence continued for a while, until finally it was broken...by all the girls besides Fluttershy bursting into a fit of uncontrollable laughter.
"BWAAAAAHHH HA HA HAHAH HAAA! Ranma!? Fainting from a cat!? HAHA HA HA!" Pinkie said as she rolled around on the ground, clutching her sides. Spike joining her on the ground.
"OH! AH HAH HA HA! That's rich! MPH HA HA!" He said.
"You mean to tell me," Rarity chimed in. "That Ranma, Mr. 'Big Bad, Tough Guy Martial Artist', is afraid of a little kitty cat!?" Rarity said as she burst out laughing again.
Applejack was clutching her sides as she tried to contain her laughter. Rainbow Dash was trying to talk but her laughter was causing her to bend over form how hard she was laughing.
"HA HA HA HA! I...HA HA...Can't...HA HA...Belive this! Ha ha haaa!" She said as she came close to joining Pinkie on the ground.
"Tigers I can understand. But a cat!? HA hah ahahha!" Twilight said in-between laughs. Fluttershy puffed out her cheeks as she pouted and glared at her friends.
"Come on you guys, this isn't funny." She said, coming dangerously close to using her 'stare' on them. Twilight got ahold of herself first and wiped tears from her eyes as she addressed her pouting friend.
"I'm sorry Fluttershy." She said. "But, you've got to admit, it is kind of funny when you think about it. I mean, Ranma, the toughest macho guy we know, being afraid of something as harmless as a cat!?"
She said as she started to snicker.
"I mean, you've got to admit, it is pretty funny."
"I'll say." Spike added.
"Well I don't think it is." The pinkette said as she petted the kitty to calm herself down. Sunset was starting to calm down and walked over to the prone pigtailed boy.
"Well, come on you guys. Let's get scaredy cat here up and..." She didn't get a chance to finish, because the moment her hand touched Ranma, Sunset was thrown back as if by some invisible force!
As she was thrown back, Sunset let out a blood curdling scream and started swatting at the air. Her friends recoiled in horror as they saw what happened to her.
"SUNSET!" They all cried out as they ran over to the downed redhead. Sunset kept screaming and swiping at the air and at her own body, as if there was something crawling all over her.
"GET THEM OFF ME!" She screamed. "GET THEM OFF! GET THEM OFF! GET THESE FUCKING THINGS OFF OF MMMMMEEEEEEEEEEEEE!"
She screamed as she kept clawing at herself. Rainbow Dash, Applejack and Pinkie Pie tried to grab her and hold her down. Spike jumped into Twilights arms, frightened at what he was seeing. Fluttershy clutched the kitty close to her chest. The cat in question trying to hide in her bosom.
"SUNSET! Calm down!" Rainbow said as she grabbed Sunset's right arm.
"Get a grip, girl!" Applejack said as she grabbed her left arm. As the two of them tried to keep her down, Pinkie went to pin the screaming redhead.
"Sunset!" She cried in a panic. But the redhead didn't seem to hear them as she kept screaming in horror.
"GET THEM OFF OF MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!" She screamed. As her friends kept calling to her, trying to calm her down, inside her mind, Sunset was being assaulted by images of cats biting and clawing and trying to tear her to shreds.
"GET THEM OOOOOOOFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF!" She kept screaming.
"SUNSET!h! Snap out of it!" Pinkie says as she slaps Sunset in the face a few times. Sunset's eyes snapped open as she regained her awareness of where she was. She huffed and puffed, fear sweat streaking down her brow as her eyes darted back and forth.
"I'll kill him." She said to no one in particular. "I'll kill him. I'll kill him! I'LL KILL HIM I'LL KILL HIM! I'LL! KILL! HHHHIIIIIMMMMMMMM!"
She kept screaming as she fought to break away from Rainbow and Applejack. Fluttershy and even the kitty covered their ears from hearing the profanities that Sunset screamed along with the repeating chant.
"I'LL FUCKING KILL HIM! I'LL FUCKING KILL THAT FUCING BASTARD! I'LL KILL THAT SON OF A FUCKING BITCH!" She screamed in fury as Pinkie, Rainbow and Applejack tried their best to hold down the raving redhead.
"SUNSET! Calm down!" Rainbow said, holding Sunset's arm down.
"Sunset! Stop!" Pinkie cried as she tried to cradle her friend's head.
"What happened!? Why do you want to kill Ranma so badly?" Applejack said. And it was her words that got through to the screaming girl.
"I'm not talking about Ranma, I'm talking about his FUCKING bastard of a FATHER!" She screamed as she stopped struggling.
"WHAT!?" The other girls said in unison as the three holding Sunset down loosened their grip on her.
"His dad?" Spike said, peaking his head out from his hiding spot in Twilights arms.
"You mean the dad that he won't tell us about?" He asked.
"YESSSS!" Sunset screamed, tears flowing down her cheeks.
"What are you talking about?" Rainbow asked. Twilight had an idea and walked over to her panting and still frightened looking friend.
"Sunset, did you go into Ranma's mind when you touched him?" She asked. Sunset sniffled a little and nodded as tears started falling from her eyes.
"What did you see?" Rarity asked as she kneeled down next to her friend. Sunset dried her eyes and sniffled one last time before she told her friends what she had seen.
"It was a memory." She said. "I wasn't even trying but, as soon as I touched him, a memory forced itself onto me."
She pulled her knees up to her chest and hugged them close. Her friends gathered close to her as Applejack placed a comforting hand on her shoulder and Pinkie hugged the girl close to her, a worried look on her face.
"Ranma was just a kid. A LITTLE KID!" She said in between sobs.
"What happened to him?" Asked Fulttershy as she came closer. As soon as Sunset saw the kitty in her hands, she screamed and backed away.
"GET THAT THING AWAY!" Her actions caused the pink haired girl and the cat to jump bak in shock.
"Sunset!" Said Applejack said as she and Pinkie grabbed the panicking girl. As soon as she felt her friends' hands on her shoulders, she calmed down.
"Sorry." She said as she tried to steady her breathing.
"Um, Fluttershy," Twilight said. "You might want to send Ms. Kitty along on her way."
Fluttershy nodded as she put the cat down.
"Off you go Ms. Kitty." The meowed, causing Sunset to shiver and shirk away from it even more, and bounced along.
"Any reason why that cat spooked you so much?" Applejack asked as Sunset calmed down again. She took a deep breath and continued her story.
"It's because of Ranma's memory." She said. This made her friends look at each other.
"Wait, so the memory you saw had to do with cats?" Rarity asked.
"So, Ranma really is afraid of cats?" Pinkie asked as she scratched her head. Sunset nodded.
"And I don't blame him." She said, tears falling down her cheeks again. Pinkie hugged her close again.
"Ranma was just a little kid." She started again. "His...FATHER..." Sunset spat out the word with as much hate as she could muster.
"He threw him into a FUCKING PITT!" She said in a rage. This made the others gasp.
"WHAT!?" They all cried out.
"Why would he do that!?" Rainbow Dash cried out as she stood up in a huff. Sunset shook her head.
"I don't know." She said. "But that's not the worst of it."
"How on Earth could it be any worse than his own father throwing him into a pit as a child?" She asked. And in a moment, she bitterly regretted it.
"I don't know why, but that pit was full of..." Sunset shuddered as she tried to summon up enough courage to spit out the last word.
"Cats!" She cried out.
"Cats?" Fluttershy asked. Sunset, shaking in fear like a 5-year-old who saw the main monster from a horror movie for the first time.
"They attacked him." She said, her shaking getting worse. "They just kept biting, clawing...ripping! Tearing! BITING! SCRATCHING! AND! AND...!" She started trailing off as she started freaking out again.
"SUNSET!" Pinkie said as she hugged the girl harder. Sunset started hyperventilating but soon got herself back under control as the others rushed over to her. She shook them off as she took some deep breaths to calm herself.
"Sorry, sorry." She said. Fluttershy joined Pinkie in hugging the redhead. Spike jumped from Twilights arms and into Susnet's. She hugged the little dog close as he nuzzled her cheek. Rainbow Dash however...punched the wall of a nearby building with enough force to leave spider-cracks where her fist had hit it.
"What. The. FUCK!" She cried. "What kind of shit head father would do that to his own son!" She cried. Applejack, whose fist where digging so hard into her hand that she was starting to bleed, shared her rainbow haired friends feelings.
"No wonder he fainted at seeing that cat. Anybody would have been traumatized after something like that!"
Twilight, seeing that it was her turn to take the leadership role, stood up and cleared her throat to get the attention of her friends.
"Ok," Twilight said. "Let's get Ranma home. Maybe Master Asia can shed some light on this madness," she said. The others nodded.
"Pinkie, Fluttershy!" She called to the two pink haired girls. The two in question stood up straight, Pinkie giving a salute.
"You two help Sunset." They nodded and picked the poor girl up as Rainbow and Applejack picked Ranma up by his arms.
A half an hour later, the group of friends had arrived at Ranma and Master Asia's house. Twilight knocked on the door. When no one answered immediately, she knocked again. Harder this time.
A minute later, the aged face of Master Asia opened the door. When he saw the state of the group in front of his door, Master Asia's eyes went wide in shock and concern.
"What happened?" He said as he ushered the girls into the house.
"We were hoping that you could answer that for us." Twilight said to Ranma's guardian and mentor.
"As well as answer a few other, more disturbing questions." She said. After leading them to the living room so they could sit and lay Ranma down on the sofa, the girls went into how they found Ranma. Master Asia took a deep breath and sighed.
"Well, I knew this day was coming. I honestly was hoping Ranma would have told you girls the story by now, buy I guess in light of 'curent events'," he said, gazing at his comatose pupil. "I'll have to do it myself."
Taking a breath and a seat, Master Asia prepared to tell the girls a story he was hoping he would take to the grave.
"In order to understand what Sunset saw, and why Ranma is afraid of cats, I'll have to go back to many years ago. Back when I was still a young man."
That got their attention. What could Ranma's cat phobia, and that memory have to do with something that happened to Master Asia back when he was young? Which, if they were to believe what Master Asia had said about his age, was a very, VERY, long time ago.
"Firstly, I'm sure you all know how some styles of martial arts copy the movements of animals, correct?" He asked them. They all nodded.
"Yeah, basic Kung Fu 101." Rainbow Dash said. Master Asia nodded.
"Well, many centuries ago in China, there was once a group of martial arts masters who practiced the various animal styles, tried to find a way to improve their skills. As much as they could mimic the animals their styles were named after, they found that they could never muster the same amount of power that they could."
"Some of them got the idea into their heads that maybe, if they lived amongst the animals, maybe they could find a way to gain the power they sought. They tried for years, but it all amounted to nothing." He said. Then his eyes gained a stern and, to their surprise, hateful look to them.
"Until one day, one of those bastards, got the idea to wrap himself in the favorite food of the animals he was studying and allowed himself to be attacked by them for a full 24 hours!"
"WHAT!?" Came a combined shout from all of the girls.
"What on EARTH could have possessed him to do something that..." Rarity began, only for Twilight to interrupt.
"STUPID!" The bespectacled girl shouted.
"I'll say." Spike added. "What kind of moron would go through something like that just to become stronger?"
Master Asia sighed in sadness.
"More than you'd think. More than I would even dare to recall." He said. His eyes gaining a faraway look of remembrance. Shaking it off, he continued.
"I agree with you though, it was reckless and foolish. But, it worked, he did gain the power and skill that he sought." He paused for a moment. "But with a price."
The girls and Spike all looked at each other, their faces growing pale and worried. Applejack swallowed as she looked to the aged master.
"What-what was the price?" After another pause and sigh, Master Asia continued.
"It drove him mad." He said. "He gained a fear of the very animals that he had allowed to attack him, so much so that he would panic and, to coin a phrase, freak out whenever he saw them. Much like with Ranma."
They all gasped. Sunset squirmed backwards. That DID sound way too much like what she had seen in that memory she saw when she touched Ranma. Fluttershy and Pinkie each laid a hand on her shoulders. Rarity gulped as she voiced the next question.
"You mean, something like that happened to Ranma?" She asked. Master Asia nodded.
"Yes, and it shouldn't have." He said as he went on with his story.
"You see, not only does it drive you into a fear frenzy, but if the person is around the animals they fear for too long, they go into a berserk state and begin to act like a human sized version of that animal. They attack anything in their path, relying solely on instinct. Their human reasoning gone for a certain amount of time."
Fluttershy hugged herself as she processed this new information.
"H-how long?" She asked. Master Asia shrugged.
"It all depends. It could be hours or days." He closed his eyes and sighed.
"At least it was only that one guy. Right?" Pinkie said, her face pleading.
"Pinkie," Twilight said. "He said that this guy was part of a group," she said.
"Sadly, yes he was." Master Asia said. "And unfortunately, he taught this same method to the rest of his group. They soon turned into a cult. And many martial artists flocked to them, hoping to learn this, as they called it, 'unbeatable' technique for increasing their skills."
"How desperate could these people have been?" Rarity asked, her heart feeling as if it were being squeezed in a vice grip at the thought of imagining Ranma being put through something like this.
"Not as desperate as the Emperor of the time was." Master Asia said. "Desperate to destroy this cult that was slowly gaining power in his country. He feared that, if left unchecked, this cult would eventually try to take over the whole country. And then, if they were ambitious enough, try to branch out into the rest of the world."
The girls all shuddered at this. A whole world full of maniacs that would let themselves be mauled by wild animals just to become more powerful? As if their world didn't have enough problems without power mad martial arts masters mixing in with power mad dictators and war mongering sociopaths.
"He was so desperate," Master Asia continued. "That he sent pleas to all the countries of Asia. Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, he sent out a call to all of them for help. Doing his best to explain to them the threat that this cult of animal masters posed to all of them. To emphasize his point, he sent out a group of his best soldiers out to capture some of these animal masters to bring before the rulers of the other countries."
The girls all leaned in, becoming even more desperate to learn more about this strange tale the old master was telling them and how it related to their comatose friend.
"Out of a troop of 20 men, only three managed to return to tell the tale." They all gulped. "And that was just against one of those monsters."
That made them all jump back in shock.
"One..." Spike said in a shocked and scared voice. "I-it took twenty soldiers just to beat ONE guy!?"
Master Asia nodded.
"No way..." Rainbow Dash said, her eyes wide. Applejack started to shake and rub her arms.
"Man..." Was all she could say. Sunset shook her head as she imagined the massacre that must have happened between the soldiers and the mad martial artist.
"I know this all to be true," Master Asia continued. "Because I was one of the soldiers the Shogun of Japan at that time sent to aid the Chinese Emperor."
"YOU!?" They all gasped for the upteenth time that day.
"You were alive back them?" Spike asked.
"Spike!" Twilight reprimanded him. Before asking: "You were?"
Master Asia nodded.
"Yes. I was a young man back then. Still just a boy. I was a young samurai in training who was drafted by the masters of the school I was a part of along with a few other young trainees."
Master Asia closed his eyes as his mind flashed back to those long-gone days. Back when he was just a headstrong boy whose mind was full of the ideas of winning battles and gaining glory and possibly ruling his own providence.
"When we came to the Shogun's castle, we all laughed at the absurd claims of the Chinese emissary. That is, until they brought in a man in a cage. At least, we thought it was a man."
He said as the girls wondered what he meant.
"It looked like a man," he said. "But it certainly didn't act like one."
Master Asia gripped his hands together hard as he remembered what he saw that day.
"The man, if you could still call him that, lashed out at us. His eyes slitted and his fingernails grown out into claws. The emissary told us that the masters of this insane martial art style, what they called, 'Perfect Beast Mimicry', made whoever learned it a near invincible perfectly mimic the movements and fighting instincts of an animal. But their minds become so consumed with a fear of the animal they choose to be attacked by, that the only way for them to cope with that fear, is for their mind to shut down and take on the personality of that animal."
"WHAT!?" Now it was Fluttershy's time to freak out. "But but I don't understand! Why would they go through that kind of trauma!? And why would they force a poor animal to attack them just so they could do this, this...Beast Mimicry thing?"
"And are you telling us," Sunset chimed in. "That the memory that I saw, was Ranma's father trying to recreate this Beast Mimicry thing?"
Master Asia nodded his head.
"Unfortunately, he did."
As Master Asia said this, Pinkie was gripping her legs so hard that she threatened to make them bleed from her fingernails piercing through her skin.
"How could they?" Pinkie said to herself. "How could they do this?"
She and Fluttershy hugged each other, crying as they did so.
"So, did the Shogun choose to help?" Applejack asked. Master Asia nodded.
"Me, my classmates and a few of the masters form our school and from others sailed to China. We met with the other warriors who were summoned, and immediately, we couldn't stand one another. It felt like we would fight each other more than the enemy we came to face."
Master Asia shook his head as he thought back to then. Remembering how all of them thought that their respective countries and their fighting styles were superior to the other. He sighed as he prepared to tell the rest of his tale.
"After much bickering, we set out to find where this cult of animal mimics was stationed. I was one of the scouts sent to evaluate the enemy. What I saw that night turned my blood into ice. I saw children, no older than 10 at least and as young as 6 being tortured, at least, that's what I thought it was. They were being fed to animals, wrapped in the meat of others, and screaming in pain."
Master Asia was clenching his fists again. Rage evident on his face.
"I charged out, but my sensei held me back. Telling me that now was not the time. We waited, and when the masters of this cult left, we dashed towards the captured children. But instead of being happy to see us, they attacked."
"Attacked?" Rainbow asked. "Why? I would have thought they would have been happy to see you guys."
"I thought so too." Master Asia said. "But they weren't children when we got to them. Plain and short, they were acting like animals. Tigers, bears, wolves, even well..." He paused.
"Cats." Finished a voice from the couch. They turned and saw Ranma sitting up on the couch.
"RANMA!" They all cried as they rushed to hug their friend.
"OH RANMA!" Pinkie said as she cried into his chest.
"We heard about what happened," she said.
"We're so sorry!" Fluttershy said. Ranma untangled himself from the girls and looked at them solemnly.
"It's not your fault." He said. Sunset wrapped her arms around Ranma in a tight bear hug.
"Ranma..." She said sobbing. "I saw it." She kept sobbing.
"I saw what your father did to you." She said as she hugged him tighter. Ranma looked at the red head and hugged her back.
"I warned you not to look in my head." He said as he hugged her tightly. "I'm sorry you had to see that Sunset."
The others joined in on the hug. Master Asia couldn't help but smile at the sight. He was so happy that his young pupil found such good friends. Ranma broke away from the group.
"I see you decided to tell them about my, 'condition', huh shishou?" He said to his mentor. The old man nodded.
"I figured they had a right to know." Master Asia said. Ranma sighed.
"Well, we might as well finish up then, huh?" He said. Master Asia nodded solemnly.
"Well, to continue where I left off: After we saw what those bastards were doing to innocent children, we returned to the others and we launched our attack." Master Asia paused as he remembered the events.
"We fought long and hard. We lost a lot of good men that day. But by the end of it all, there wasn't a single one of those bastards left standing." Fluttershy covered her mouth as she gasped.
"You mean...you killed them?" She asked. Master Asia nodded.
"We didn't have a choice Fluttershy. It was a different time. And we couldn't take any chances that they'd continue forcing people to learn this insane training method. Any member of that cult we captured, we beheaded."
Fluttershy and the others gulped at that. They could understand the reasons they had for ending the lives of these people, but that didn't mean that they liked it.
"As we were finishing up, I strolled around the perimeter, having seen enough death for a while. As I was walking, I discovered one of my superiors stuffing scrolls into his bag. I confronted him, and he tried to tell me that they were just some scrolls of the homes of these cultists and their finances. But what he didn't know, was that on the way to China, I took the time to ask one of the Chinese sailors we were sailing with to teach me some of their language. And while I couldn't read much, what I was able to make out shocked me."
"What were they really?" Twilight asked, already having an idea but hoping she was wrong.
"They were scrolls that described the cults training methods." Master Asia said.
"You mean, after all of that, your superior was actually thinking of using those, monstrous, training methods for himself!?" Rarity asked in shock. Master Asia nodded to the purple haired girl.
"I was even more shocked than you were. I tried to talk him out of it, but he was adamant about using it to make the Japanese army unstoppable. But after seeing what happened to the people who went through that training, I attacked him. I was good, but back then I was still a boy. He overpowered me easily. I thought I was going to die, but at that moment, a spear went right through him. As he fell dead, I turned and saw my savior...A Shaolin Monk."
"The monk saw and heard everything. And together, we burned the tent we were in and everything in it. After that, I had a lot to contemplate. As a samurai in training, I was trained for war. And after my first taste of it and what it did to people, I hated it. I hated it so much that I didn't even want to go back to my home country." Master Asia continued.
"Why not?" Pinkie asked.
"Because I knew that as soon as I went back, not only would I be seen as a traitor for not helping my superior, but I would go right back to war. I couldn't take it. I thought I would grow to be a great warrior, that war would bring me glory. But the reality of it all woke me up. War, was wrong. And I didn't want any part of it ever again." The old master took a deep breath, calming himself.
"The monk who saved me offered me to come with him to the temple where he lived. That I could probably find the peace I so desperately needed there. I thought for a moment, and after saying goodbye to my friends, I went with him. And for years, I thought we had ended all of those cultists. It wouldn't be until 300 years later, when I met Ranma, that I found out that I was wrong." Fire flashed in his eyes at his remembrance of what Ranma had told him. Ranma decided to take over from there.
"It turns out, one of those masters managed to survive. He decided to keep to himself and not let anyone find him. But apparently, at some point, he either wrote a scroll of their methodology or taught a student who eventually did. Either way, someone in Japan got their hands on this style of fighting and training and wrote a pamphlet on it called, 'The Unbeatable Nekoken'."
"The Cat Fist." Twilight translated. Ranma and Master Asia nodded.
"And somehow, that pamphlet ended up in my father's hands. He thought it really would make me invincible, and so he put me through it. Repeatedly." Ranma said.
"Repeatedly!? You mean he did that to you more than once!?" Sunset said in shock. Ranma closed his eyes and nodded his head sadly.
"I didn't learn it at first. And when I did and he found out what it really did to me, he thought that doing it again would cure me."
"Just how RETARDED is your father!?" Rarity said in rage.
"Apparently, very." Spike said. Fluttershy hugged Ranma tightly as she wept for her friend. Sunset clutched her hand.
"And I only got a small taste of that. I got about three seconds of one time. Just how many times did your father do that to you?" She asked. Ranma turned away form Fluttershy's hug and shuddered.
"Honestly, I lost count. And I don't think I want to know in all honesty." He said.
Rainbow Dash growled as an aura of electric teal ki flared around her.
"If I ever meet this guy he is DEAD!" She exclaimed. Applejack punched her fist into her open hand.
"Save some of him for me Dashy. I want a crack at that Asshole." She said. Pinkie cleaned her party cannon, a look of absolute hate on her face.
"And I've got dibs after you guys." She said.
"Not if I get to him first." Sunset said under her breath. Her hands lightly glowing red as her returning magic reacted to her emotions.
If he had the capacity to, Ranma would feel bad for his father. But he didn't. And he finally understood the meaning of the phrase, 'Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned'.
"Girls..." Ranma said to them, a small smile on his face. Master Asia also couldn't help but smile. Truly these seven girls were a god send for his young pupil.
"That big, stupid...meanie!" Fluttershy said to herself. Rarity walked up to Ranma and hugged him.
"I suppose I should warn you, I have a cat at home. Next time you come over, I'll have to make sure she's tucked away or staying over at Fluttershy's." She said. Ranma smiled and hugged her back.
"Thanks. I appreciate that Rars."Ranma said. Master Asia walked over and placed a hand on Ranma's shoulder.
"Well son, looks your father will have seven more things besides me and yourself to worry about if he ever finds us here." He said with a smile. Ranma chuckled.
"Yeah, if he ever finds this place."
After a few more minutes, the girls made their way back into town to get to their own homes. But as they kept thinking about all that they had just learned about Ranma's past and the history of the technique that his father forced him to learn.
"That bastard." Sunset kept fuming. Her anger manifesting in a bright red aura of rage. If the others weren't so angry at Ranma's dad, they would have been worried that she might turn into her evil demon form again.
"Man, just what kind of moron was Ranma's dad anyway?" Rainbow asked with her arms crossed.
"All this time I thought that Flim and Flam were the biggest creeps in the world." Applejack said, her own rage boiling over. "Clearly, I was wrong."
Fluttershy was so mad that her own battle aura was starting to glow around her body.
"That big stupid meanie. Why did he have to go and do those things to poor Ranma?" She said, her bright pink aura growing to match that of Sunset, Rainbow and Applejack.
"If I ever meet that man...OOOHHHHH! I'm going to give him a stare that will send him to the cemetery!" She cried out loud. Pinkie kept gripping her hands in rage.
"I am going to blast that man into the next millennium if I EVER meet him!" Pinkie shouted. Rarity nodded her head in agreement.
"Out of all the people we have faced, I have to say that Ranma's father is by far the most purely evil one we have ever heard of." She said. Sunset stopped and turned to face her friends.
"Alright, listen up girls!" Sunset says. "Twilight, pen this down." Twilight took out a pen and paper.
"On this day, let us all swear, if we ever meet Ranma's dad, we send him back to whatever part of Hell he crawled out of!" The others cheered in response. And somewhere across the ocean, a bald man in a karate gi sneezed hard a total of seven times.
Later that night, Ranma yawned as he headed for his bed. As he reached his door, he felt a weird tingle of warning.
'That's odd. Why is my danger sense going off?' He thought as he slowly opened his door. He clenched his fists, his muscles tensing as he readied himself for a possible fight. He flung open his door...and saw Pinkie Pie. Laying on his bed.
In a sexy CAT costume.
"Hello, Ranma-kuuuuuuuunn..." She said in a low seductive tone of voice. Ranma's eyes went wide at what he saw.
"I thought that maybe, if you saw cats in a different light, you might be less scared of them." Pinkie said as she turned around on the bed in sexy poses.
"Sooooo..." She drawled on. "Nya~..." She said in her sexiest voice. And Ranma...
"AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!" Screamed and ran straight through the wall and out into the night.
"Nya?" Pinkie said in shock and confusion.
"Ranma! What's wrong!?" Master Asia said as he burst through Ranma's door. He saw Pinkie on the bed and went blank face.
"Pinkie." He said to the girl on the bed. "What on gods blue and green Earth are you doing?" He asked. She looked at him sheepishly.
"Um, well...I thought that since Ranma associates cats with a bad memory, maybe a good memory would cancel it out. And there's no better memory than a sexy cat girl, so..." She said, trailing off. Master Asia pinched the bridge of his nose and shook his head.
"Pinkie, your heart maybe in the right place, but I'm seriously questioning the sanity of your crazy plan." He said. Pinkie looked down pouting. And to the old man's surprise, the tail that was part of her costume was swinging back and forth on it's own.
'How on Earth is she doing that?' Master Asia thought to himself.
"Pinkie," He called. "Go put some real clothes on and go home."
"But-but what about Ranma!?" She asked in a panic.
"Don't worry about him." The old master said. "He lived most of his life camping. I'm sure he'll be back by mourning."
The next day, Pinkie had her head down in embarrassment as she recounted the events of last night. Sunset, Rainbow, Applejack and Rarity were giving her a very disapproving glare that would do Fluttershy's 'Stare' proud. Meanwhile Twilight was making calls to their other friends to see if they had seen Ranma. And Fluttershy was asking every animal she came across the same thing.
"Pinkie," Sunset said to the dark pink haired girl. "Please, tell me, what, just what, in God's name, made you think that dressing up in a cat costume in front of the biggest cataphobic man on Earth was a good idea!"
Pinkie couldn't look the red head in the eye, she was so ashamed and scared. She gulped and tried to defend her actions.
"Well, I was hoping that his hormones would override his fear." She said. "I mean, who would be afraid of a sexy girl laying on their bed?"
Rarity just shook her head at her horny friend.
"Darling, if that stupid scheme had worked, just what would you have done anyway, hmm?" She asked in her most skeptic tone. Pinkie blushed and fidgeted with her hands.
"Well, I..." She began. "I...really didn't think that far ahead." She admitted.
The others looked like they wanted to slap her and bash her head in with a hammer. She was saved however, when Fluttershy gave a happy gasp that drew the attention of her friends.
"Girls!" She called. "One of my bird friends says they saw Flash and Ranma heading for the school."
At this good news, the girls sighed in relief. But none more so than Pinkie Pie. But before she could fully relax, Rainbow and Sunset pulled her by the collar of her shirt.
"This isn't over." Sunset said.
"Yeah. We still need to give you a fitting punishment for this Pinkie." Rainbow chimed in. Pinkie gulped. Whatever they had in mind, it sure as heck was not going to end well for her.
As she was thinking this, Flash and Ranma came into sight not too far from the school. Flash looked fine, but Ranma looked like he had slight bags under his eyes.
"Hey guys!" Flash called to the girls. "Look who I found walking out of the woods this mourning!"
"Ranma!" Pinkie called as she ran over to the pigtailed boy.
"I'm sorry!" She said as she hugged the boy. "I didn't mean to scary you! I was trying to help you get over your fear."
Ranma pulled the crying girl away from him and smiled at her.
"It's ok Pinkie." He said. "Flash said that you were probably trying to help me in your own crazy way." Then his face got hard.
"But please, PLEASE, NEVER do that again!" He said, his head turning into a giant-sized version of itself for added effect.
"Yes sir. Sorry again." Pinkie said, shrinking from Ranma's giant head of doom. The others couldn't help but laugh at the sight.
"Still," Flash said. "I can't believe that you have a fear of cats."
The others looked at Flash and Ranma answered their unasked question.
"I gave him a shortened version of the Nekoken story."
The girls nodded their heads in understanding. Hearing the bell, the group of 9 friends headed inside for another day of lessons. However, unbeknownst to them, a certain group of three sirens were watching them from behind the school statue.
"Mph ha ha ha! Did you two hear that!?" Adagio said to her two lackeys.
"I heard it." Aria said. "I just can't believe it."
"Yeah," Sonata chimed in. "How could anyone be scared of an itty-bitty kitty?"
"Who cares!" Adagio said. "You're missing the point! Now we finally have something to use against the kung fu brat!"
Sonata 'ohed' at that but Aria was looking a little confused about something.
"Yeah but, what was that, Neko-whatever he was talking about?" Adagio shook her head in exasberation.
"WHO CARES!" She cried. "Focus! We need to find the best way to exploit this."
"But, are we sure that he really is as scared of cats as they say he is?" Sonata asked. Aria looked thoughtful at that.
"This is a rare moment, but I think Sonata's right." Said the goth as Sonata smiled and beamed at her words. Adagio thought about it, then nodded.
"Ok. Maybe we should test it." She said as she saw a stray cat crossing the street. She grinned evilly.
Meanwhile, Ranma and the others were just getting ready to break off to go to their separate classes. Suddenly, Ranma felt the hairs on the back of his neck stand on end. His danger sense was going off. But why?
"Meow!" Came the sound that made his blood turn to ice. He turned his head, and sure enough, there was a cat, running through the halls like it was running for it's life.
"AAAAAAHHHHHHH!" He screamed.
"Ranma! Calm down!" Sunset tried to say to her panicking friend. But it was too late, for as soon as she tried to say something, all that was left of Ranma was a dust cloud as he dashed down the hall like the devil himself was chasing after him.
"RANMA!" The girls and Flash called to the pigtailed boy. But it was too late as he was long gone.
Elsewhere down the hall, Celestia was casually strolling down the hall, smiling as she greeted everyone she met. Then, she felt it. Even if she hadn't trained in over ten years, she could still sometimes feel her danger sense go off. Before she could fully register what it was that she was sensing, a red blur blast right past her from behind.
"AAAAAAAWWWWWWWW!" She screamed. Why? Because whatever had shot past her, moved so fast that it had blown her skirt straight up, showing her purple lace panty clad butt to everyone behind her.
She blushed like crazy. What had caused that? She had never been so embarrassed. Then, she heard the sound of people falling to the ground behind her. She turned around, and to her shock, she saw Flash, Sunset, Twilight, and the rest of their group along with a few other students, boys mostly, on the ground suffering from MASSIVE nose bleeds.
"B-bb-booootyyyyyy..." Pinkie Pie was mumbling, her phone in her hand and a horny, dumb-struck look on her face.
"S-s-s-sss-so...sexy..." Sunset said. Twilight's glasses were fogged over as she kept saying...
"I'm straight. I'm straight. I'm straight."
Flash had a look similar to Pinkie's and every other boy who had seen her rear end. She growled. She had a good feeling who was behind this now.
"RANMA!" She screamed so loud it made the whole school shake like it was suffering from a mini earthquake. She looked to follow the path of the red streak and saw that it ended at the door to a hall closet.
"GET OUT HERE RIGHT NOW!" She screamed. But his response caught her a little off guard.
"NO!" Came his voice, in a frightened tone.
"I'm not playing Ranma. Get. OUT. HERE. NOW!" She screamed again.
"NO!" He said again.
"Why the HELL NOT!" She screamed. Then she heard the meowing of a cat. She looked back and down and saw a little kitty cuddling up to the down and out Fluttershy. It was then, she remembered something Master Asia had told her when he got Ranma enrolled in CHS.
"Oh..." She said as she walked over to the little kitten. She picked it up and cuddled it in her arms.
"I don't know how you got in here little one. But you need to leave before you cause even more trouble." She said as she walked over to a nearby window and opened it. The kitty jumped onto the window edge and jumped onto the nearby ground.
After seeing the little intruder off, she walked back to Ranma's downed friends and looked at them. She sighed.
"This happens every time someone sees me in something revealing." She said to herself before she snapped her fingers. At the sound of her snap, the downed group suddenly shout up like they had just been released form a spell.
"DID I GET IT! Did I get it! Did I get it!" Pinkie kept saying as she checked her phone to see if she had gotten a picture of Celestia's butt. Sadly for her, she didn't.
"Awwwww." She said sadly.
"Pinkie, focus." Celestia said to the horny girl.
"That's just it." She said. "My phone wasn't in focus." Celestia bonked her on the head.
"I meant on the here and now." She said. She walked over to the closet door and knocked.
"Ranma, the cat's gone now." She said. Ranma opened the door slightly and looked left and right to make sure she was telling the truth. After seeing no cat, he stepped out and came face to face with a still fuming Celestia.
"Hey PC." He started to say until she cut him off.
"Don't you 'Hey PC' me!" She said to him, making him wince.
"What's wrong?" He said, honestly not knowing why she was so mad at him.
"What's wrong?" She repeated. "WHAT'S WRONG!? I'll tell you what's wrong, you just embarrassed the HELL out of me just now!" She said.
Ranma just kept looking at her in confusion. In all honesty, he had been so consumed by his fear upon seeing that cat that he really didn't pay any attention to what was going on around him. That is, of course, until he found a place to hide in. So he really didn't know that in his flight, he had unintentionally given most of the school a free peep show of Celestia's ghetto booty.
"How?" Was all the oblivious boy could ask. Celestia's eyes just kept twitching.
"YOU MADE MY SKIRT FLY UP AND EXPOSED MY ASS TO THE WHOLE SCHOOL!" She screamed at the to of her lungs. Not caring anymore who heard her.
"I WHAT!?" Ranma screamed in shock. He looked behind Celestia and saw the hall fool of students getting off of the ground and wiping blood from their noses. Ranam went as red as his shirt.
"Oh crap." He said as he looked back at the steaming principle.
"I am SSSOOOOOOO sorry Celestia." He said. "I-I didn't mean to do that! I-I-I..." Ranma tried to stamer out an apology. Thankfully for him, the others had shaken off the hormone overload and came to his defense.
"Principal Celestia, please," Sunset called to the angry older woman. "It wasn't Ranma's fault. Honest."
"She's right." Applejack said. "He..."
"Has a overpowering phobia of cats. I know, I know. Master Asia told me when we first got Ranma enrolled." Celestia said as she calmed down a bit.
"So, if you know, why are you so mad at me?" Ranma asked. She turned back to him with a glare that could almost invoke the same effect as Fluttershy's stare. Then Ranma remembered what Celestia had said his mad dash had done and grinned sheepishly.
"Eh heh heh. Right...Sorry." He said, trying to defuse the bomb he had unintentionally rearmed. Celestia glared for another second and then breathed out in a loud huff.
"Since it was because of your uncontrollable phobia, I'll let it slide." She said. "Just this once."
Ranma gulped and nodded his head. But before he could say anything else, they heard a familiar and unpleasant voice.
"Hark my fair beauties! Your loyal knight in shining armor, Tatewaki Kuno, the Blue Thunder has returned!"
"Not this idiot again!" Everyone said in unison. Celestia looked at Ranma.
"Way ahead of ya." Was all he said before dashing to the kendo buffoon and kicking him right out the nearest window.
"AAAAAAGGGHHHHHH!" The kendo boy screamed as he went flying across the outside yard. As he came to a stop a few dozen feet away, he heard the laughing of three women. He got up and followed the sound to find the Dazzlings laughing at something.
"I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!" Their leader, the one called Adagio said as she rolled around on the ground. Her second in command, the goth girl Aria was holding her sides. Which shocked him, he was under the impression that she never laughed.
"This is too good to be true." The goth said. The final member of their group, Sonata, was on the ground laughing too hard to speak. She rolled on the ground and stopped right in front of Kuno.
"Oh...hmmph..ha ha ha. Hi mister samurai." She said to him. Kuno huffed.
"At least one of you witches knows how to address someone of my status." Said the arrogant wanna be. Adagio stopped laughing so she could scoff at Kuno.
"Oh yes. The great human punching bag who thinks the same old tactics will beat the people who keep beating him with increasing ease." She said. Kuno's face was turning red with anger.
"I have better things to do than converse with you three witches." He said, turning on his heels. "I take my leave."
But before he could get far, Adagio had reached out and grabbed at the man's kimono.
"Hold on there, Blue Blunder." Said the orange haired siren. Kuno jerked away from her grasp and snarled at her.
"It's 'BLUE THUNDER'" He said in rage. Adagio just shrugged him off.
"Whatever." She said, then went back into serious mode.
"Look," She said. "What if I where to tell you that I might know of a way for you to not only finally beat Ranma, but to also make him look like a complete wuss in front of Sunset and her friends and the entire school?" She asked with a smirk, only to be surprised at his answer.
"I would say, nay you wench." He said as he threw his head to the side. Adagio and the other Dazzling's were shocked at what he had just said.
"What?" Said the siren leader.
"You heard me." The Shakespearian Samurai said. "If I am to defeat the foul sorcerer Ranma and free the maidens of my heart from his spell, then I shall do so with my own power. I do not wish to sully myself by making a deal with you three devils."
"So, you're ok with losing to that pigtailed kung fu boy over and over again?" Aria said. Kuno scoffed again.
"As if that fool will keep winning." He said, puffing out his chest. "My victory is assuredly in hand. Heaven will smile on me before too long."
With that, the samurai boy walked off. Sonata was the one to break the silence.
"I guess he doesn't like those girls as much as he lets on, huh?" She said. And as soon as the words left her mouth, Kuno turned around and dashed back to the ponytailed girl.
"What did you say you witch!?" He shouted. Adagio smirked. She now had a way to manipulate this fool.
"Well," She drawled on. "I mean, if you really cared about those girls, I would only assume that you would use every means at your disposal to defeat Ranma and claim them as your own. But, oh well."
She finished as she placed her hands on her hips and started walking away, swaying her hips as she did. As she did so, she turned her head back to look and smirk at Kuno.
"I guess we'll just keep the secret to Ranma's defeat to ourselves then." She said as she started strutting away again. She was stopped by a hand on her shoulder. She looked back and saw that the hand belonged to Kuno who had his head bowed down.
"Well?" He said. Adagio feigned ignorance.
"Well what?" She said in mock innocence.
"What's Ranma's weakness?" Kuno replied.
'Sucker' Adagio thought to herself, her smirk turning into grin.
