Preparations For The Galla Pt. 3
Rainbow Dash: It's about time I got a chance to do this! Hey everybody! It's your girl Rainbow Dash! Anyway, welcome to back to Equestria Wild Horse. Today, Ranma's going to have to deal with something, or rather someone, that may be worse than Kuno! Not only that, but Twilight's got to help him get his grades up. Why? You'll see. But now...Cue the music!
*Tonight, Tonight, Tonight*
[Ranma look up at the night sky as the sun begins to rise and the song starts to play. As the song starts, Ranma looks to see Sunset, Twilight, Rarity, Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash, Applejack, and Pinkie Pie jumped out from behind him.]
Woke up with yawn. It's dawning, I'm still alive
Turned on my radio to start up new day
As goddamned DJs chatter how to survive
Amazing news got over on the air wave
[Ranma starts reminiscing about his life up to when he got to Canterlot]
Tonight, love is rationed
Tonight, across the nation
Tonight, love infects worldwide
Almost another day
[Ranma gets up and charges into the sun rise. As he does, Master Asia appears and grins as he and Ranma prepare to spar.]
Woke up with yawn. It's dawning, im still alive
Turned down my radio to start up new day
As goddamned DJs chattered how to survive
Amazing news got over on the air wave
[Ranma smiles at the girls as he scratches his head]
Almost another day
[Ranma and all his friends are gazing at the stars in the night sky]
She's a shooting star, good night, good night
She's a shooting star, good bye
[The camera zooms in on Ranma as he smiles at a bunch of shooting stars]
See you some other day
Ranma smiled as he and the others jogged to school once again. Ranma was glad that everything was going back to normal after the whole fiasco of the Nekoken. He also was surprised by how much fun he had learning how to dance from Rarity. And helping Applejack with her farm work was a great change of pace from his normal routine.
Also, he was surprised that so many people had stuck with the class that he was starting up. Some even started paying him for the lessons! He flipped off the fence and landed in front of his first three students.
Flash, Rainbow and Applejack jogged up to Ranma and panted for breath. He smiled at his apprentices.
"Ok guys, let's ditch the weights. Once school lets out, we'll head to the park for our class." Ranma said.
"Sounds like a plan." Flash said. "I really need to take a breather from these weights."
And with that, Flash and the others dropped their weighted backpacks, which caused them to crash and leave craters.
"Say Ranma, these weights are starting to get a little easier for us. Do you think it's time to up them again?" Applejack asked. Ranma stroked his chin as he thought for a second.
"Hmmm. Maybe after we get done with this whole Galla thing. Rarity might kill me if she thinks all my exercises changed your figures after she got your measurements."
The girls started to laugh at that.
"Yeah, Rarity already got mad when she found out my hips outgrew the design she made for me." Rainbow Dash said as she scratched the back of her head. Applejack rubbed her arm in embarrassment.
"Yeah, you guys might have a point there. Last time Rarity called me over for a fitting, I kind of accidentally ripped parts of the dress she made for me." That got the others to laugh.
"And if it happens ONE MORE TIME YOU'LL ALL BE SORRY!" Came the voice of Rarity from behind them. They turn around and see the rest of their group of friends walking over to them from the school gate.
"Uh, heh heh. Right." Ranma said.
"Just be happy she doesn't have her knitting needles with her or she might stab you with them." Twilight said as she handed the four martial artists their protein shakes.
"Hmm, killed by sewing needles. Wasn't that how the victim in a movie we saw the other day die?" Falsh asked as he took a few sips of his shake.
"We can talk about that later, right now, let's get to class." Sunset said as they all headed inside. As they were walking, Ranma felt a tap on his shoulder. He turned to see Rainbow Dash with a slight blush on her face.
"Hey, uh, Ranma? Do you think...uh, what I mean is, can I talk to you after first period? There's something I want to ask you."
Ranma tilted his head at his rainbow haired friend. It wasn't like her to be so nervous about something.
"Sure Rainbow. Whatever it is, you know you can ask me anything." He said with a smile. Rainbow smiled back at her friend and mentor.
"Thanks Ranma."
Latter, after first period let out, Ranma and Rainbow Dash met by the lockers. Ranma smiled at his friend and student as he walked up to her.
"Yo Rainbow! What did you want to talk to me about?" He asked. Rainbow rubbed her arms, looking a little embarrassed.
"Well, it's a little dumb. But..." She dragged off. "Well...you know how I want to meet the Wonder Bolts, right?" Ranma nodded.
"Yeah?" He said with a tilt of his head. Rainbow Dash took a deep breath and sighed.
"Well, I was wondering...do you think you can help me work on how I'm going to meet them? Pretty PLEASE?" She asked with big soulful eyes. Now Ranma was really confused.
"Um...why are you asking me? I don't know anything about talking to celebrities? Wouldn't Rarity be the better person to ask?" He asked.
"Well," Rainbow started to say. "Rarity's more of the go to for the high society type of celebrities. The Wonder Bolts are WAY more down to Earth than that. Plus, they're super cool and professional and down to Earth and non caring for all that fancy-shmancy stuff and..."
"Ok, ok, I get it, I get it!" Ranma said cutting her off. "You want to practice your introductions on someone who's as cool and collected as they come so you chose little ol' me, right?"
Rainbow shook off the embarrassment from asking her favor and gave Ranma a playful scolding.
"Yeah, so what!? And just for the record Ranma, you may be cool and all, but you are nowhere NEAR as cool as the Wonder Bolts. But you're probably as close as I'm going to get. So...will ya help me out?" She asked. Giving him her best pleading smile. Ranma couldn't help but chuckle at how cute Rainbow Dash looked when she made that face.
"Ok. I'll help ya out." He said with his usual charming smile.
"AW YEAH!" Rainbow said as she pumped her fist and jumped into the air.
Later, after school let out and before they headed to the park to teach their martial arts class, Ranma and Rainbow Dash were in the gym. Rainbow cleared her throat as she prepared to try out the various greetings she had been working on for meeting the Wonder Bolts.
"It's such a pleasure to meet you! No, too fangirlish. How's it going? No, to familiar. How are you today? No, too dorky." Rainbow Dash kept going on down the list of greetings.
Ranma yawned as he sat down, listening to his friend go on and on, trying to find the right greeting that wouldn't make her seem too eager or desperate. As he listened to Rainbow drone on, occasionally giving his critiques on how to improve on some that didn't sound too bad, he heard a strange noise that made him look to the opposite end of the gym.
"Uh, Rainbow, I don't mean to interrupt you when you're on a roll, but, did you hear something?" He asked.
"What?" Rainbow asked as she looked towards where Ranma was looking and saw a few shadowy figures walking towards them. Moaning and groaning as they limped along. Rainbow paled a little.
"W-what are those?" She asked, a small bit of fear in her voice. Ranma narrowed his eyes as he took up a ready stance and Rainbow did the same.
"I don't know. But if they want a fight, then they'll get one."
But they dropped their fighting stances when the shadowy figures drew close enough to reveal...a group of girls in unitards who covered in bruises and bandages!
"What the!?" Ranma gasped out. "Who are they?"
"Oh my gosh!" Rainbow Dash gasped as she ran over to the banged-up girls. "It's the school rhythmic gymnastics team!"
"The gymnastics team?" Ranma said in shock. "They look more like a couple of crash test dummies."
"What happened?" Rainbow Dash said as she helped one of the girls sit down. She sniffled as she looked up to the rainbow haired girl.
"Rainbow Dash...we need your help!" She cried as she hugged the other girl. Rainbow Dash looked surprised at the hurt girls words.
"My help?" She asked in shock. "For what?"
"And does it have anything to do with whoever or whatever did this to you guys?" Ranma asked as he helped the other banged up girls. One of them nodded.
"You see, we have a very big gymnastics meet coming up. We were just finishing up our practice, when we heard this...this...really, HORRIBLE laugh!" They all shuddered at the memory. Ranma and Rainbow Dash both wondered just what kind of laugh they could have heard that would freak them out like this.
"We looked around to see where it was coming from, but then...we were attacked!" Another of the girls said.
"Attacked!?" Rainbow asked. "By who?"
"We don't know." The lead gymnast said. "At first it was a couple of flying clubs. Then out of the darkness a dark red ribbon flew out and wrapped around us one by one. Yanking us around and bashing us into wall after wall."
They all shuddered again, hating to remember the pain that was inflected upon them by their unknown assailant. Rainbow Dash did her best to comfort the poor girls. Anger boiling up at the thought of some coward attacking them from the shadows before their big meet.
"Did you manage to get a look at them at all?" Ranma asked the beaten up girls. They all shook their heads.
"I'm afraid not. We know it was a woman, we could tell by the voice. But whoever she was, she managed to give us the business before jumping off into the night." One of the other girls said.
"That brings us to what we wanted to ask." The leader of the girls said as she looked to Rainbow Dash. "Rainbow Dash, we know you only joined the gymnastics team to learn acrobatics and quit when you did, but, would you consider taking our place in the big meet in three days?"
Rainbow Dash was stunned.
"Me?" She asked. "Well, I don't know. Three days isn't a lot of time." She said, scratching her head. One of the other gymnasts grabbed Rainbow's hands pleadingly.
"Please Rainbow Dash!" She begged. "You're our only hope! We tried to ask Pinkie Pie, but she said she was busy with the cheerleading squad and couldn't do it. Please! We can't let our school down just because someone from the other school wanted to cheat."
"Wait, how do you know it was someone from the other school?" Ranma asked.
"Who else could it have been? I mean, it's too much of a coincidence that someone would attack us so close to the meeting date. Not only that, but whoever attacked us used rhythmic gymnastics tools as weapons."
That made Ranma think. He had heard that there was a style of martial arts that used rhythmic gymnastics as a basis. In fact, he was all but sure Ryoga had some knowledge of that style, considering that he used one of its techniques of channeling ki into cloth to turn it into a blade. Rainbow Dash was thinking something along the same lines but then had another question.
"But, wont I need a team to compete?" She asked.
"Actually, the meet was supposed to be a one-on-one competition. It was supposed to be a form of rhythmic gymnastics called, Martial Arts Rhythmic Gymnastics."
"I had a feelig." Ranma said. "The way you described the attack, I had a feeling it was someone using that style. I've only heard and read about it, but I've never actually seen it before."
"What do you know about it Ranma?" Rainbow asked.
"Well, all I know is that it was developed by a high school student in Japan who found a way to turn her gymnastics into a makeshift fighting style. After proving it's effectiveness in a few tournaments, it was officially recognized as an official martial art and sport. In it's competetions, all you have to do to win is knock your opponent out of the arena but you can only attack using gymnastics tools."
"Yeah, and we were sure to win. But now that stupid private school from Japan, St. Hebereke, is going to continue it's big winning streak."
"I've heard of them!" Rainbow Dash cried out. "They're that fancy bunch of prissy girls who think they're all that because they've never lost a single gymnastics competition."
"That's because none of their opponents ever showed up!" One of the other girls said.
"They always win by default because their opponents always get attacked and get injured too much to compete."
"And now we're their newest victims."
Now Rainbow Dash was REALLY mad. As a sportswoman and martial artist, she believed in honor and fair play. To think someone would go so far just to get a cheap win sickened her. She growled and stood up proudly.
"Alright! I'll do it!" She said. "I'll brush off my gymnastics skills and teach those jerks that NO ONE cheats the Wonder Colts!"
The next day, Ranma was in the gym looking over a book on Martial Arts Rhythmic Gymnastics so that he could better help Rainbow Dash get ready. The rules where simple enough to follow, learning the weapons wouldn't be too hard for him and her. But what really worried him was that whoever attacked the schools gymnastics team might not think twice about attacking again. He was also worried that they might try to pull something during the actual match.
"AGH!"
He heard Rainbow Dash cry out in frustration from the changing room before she walked out into the gym.
"I swear, I think Pinkie Pie ordered a size or two too small when she got this unitard for me," Rainbow Dash said. Ranma turned towards his rainbow haired friend...and blushed hard.
This was his first time seeing Rainbow Dash show off so much of her athletic body. NOW he knew what she was talking about when she said her figure had changed. He knew she was gifted in the hip area, but NOW he knew by how much!
Her hips were very wide and as she got closer, he could see the reason for her being mad. Her wide hips supported a very generous rear end that looked like it was trying to eat the bottom of her sleeveless and legless unitard. While she didn't have a bust as big as most of the other girls, she did have enough to push out against the top of said gymnast's uniform. The unitard itself was light teal and contrasted with her skin beautifully.
Her toned legs seemed to go on forever to Ranma's wandering eyes. He noticed that all the training he had been putting her and Applejack through had definitely helped to tone up the muscles in said legs and in her arms. All in all, she looked like a pro at the Olympics, one who could just as easily kick your ass as she could draw your eye.
"She knows I hate having my butt on display, how can I focus on winning if I'm worried someone will try to snap pictures of my ass in something that might as well be a thong?"
Her words snapped Ranma out of his musings as he tried to recompose himself and find the right words to comfort his friend and student.
"Well, uh, look at it this way, you'll have a lot of people rooting for you." Ranma said sheepishly. Rainbow Dash looked at him and scowled.
"Shut up," she said. "Ok, let's do this. So, what should we work on first?"
Ranma thought for a moment.
"Well, let' try the clubs and hoop first. I think those will be your best bet since learning how to use those won't be too difficult with the short amount of time we have."
Rainbow nodded at the logic.
"Ok." She said with a smile before giving Ranma a dirty look. "But if you make ONE remark about how I look in this stupid thing or try anything funny, I swear I'll kill you!"
Ranma chuckled a little nervously. While he could beat her in a fight, he was sure Rainbow would definitely try to make good on that threat.
"Ok. You got it." He said. And with that, he kicked a pair of clubs towards Rainbow and kicked some up to his own hand.
They started few some basic drills used in Filipino stick fighting martial arts. Ranma started with a few strikes and Rainbow countered with a few parries and strikes of her own. They started in a static standing position and then worked their flow into walking in a circle. As they continued, they picked up the pace in both their flow and their walking speed.
Ranma couldn't help but smirk, this was starting to get fun. Rainbow Dash was smiling too, while she enjoyed learning with Flash and Applejack, she sure did like the fact that this was a personal one-on-one lesson. She hated to admit it, part of her wished they could always train like this. Just the two of...
"Yowch!" She said as she felt one of Ranma's strikes hit her in her rear end.
"HEY!" She cried as Ranma laughed.
"Sorry RD," he said. "But that's what you get for losing concentration during training."
"Oh really?" Rainbow said as she twirled the clubs in her hands. "Well then, in that case..."
She lunged out in a wild attack at Ranma in all directions. Ranma chuckled and defended against his friends attacks. He chuckled, while he was having fun, he noticed that Rainbow Dash was losing focus. He was afraid she was getting bored, so he decided to spice up their training. After all, they didn't have a lot of time.
And so the rest of their session went on like that for another hour. After they decided to stop and catch their breaths, Rainbow glared at Ranma.
"Why did you smack my ass!? I warned you!" She started to say.
"Well, I figured since you were losing focus, that might be the best way to get your mind on back on the matter at hand. After all, you only have two days before you have to face someone who's an expert at this sport." He answered back.
Rainbow scowled at Ranma. She knew he was right, she was so busy daydreaming that she lost focus. She couldn't let that happen when she was on a time clock. But still, if he wanted to strike her ass, she wasn't above playing cheeky too. She smiled as she got up to stretch.
"Okay," She said. "Just let me stretch before we continue."
"Okay." Ranma said.
Before he could tell her to hurry and make it quick, he noticed that she had turned around and was bending over, showing her butt right to his face! Ranma had to bite his tongue to keep from freaking out. Why was she stretching with her back to him?
Rainbow Dash was smirking to herself as she stretched. While she may be super embarrassed, she knew it paled in comparison to how spooked Ranma must be. She switched from a forward bend into side lunges, making sure that her large caboose was in perfect view for Ranma to see.
Ranma turned his face so he couldn't see Rainbow's butt.
'This HAS to be karma for earlier.' He thought to himself. He gulped hard. Now he was going to have the image of her big bubble butt stuck in his head for who knows how long. And what's worse, her unitard was starting to look more and more like a thong with every stretch.
He was about to try and say something when...
"OOOOHH HO HO HO HO HO HO HO!" Came a high pitched laugh that reminded the two of them of that anime character Naga the Serpent.
"Back to back!" Ranma cried as he and Rainbow stood with their backs to each other and looked around, looking for the person making that horrible laugh. Suddenly, they turned and saw a hoola-hoop flying out of nowhere and heading right for them!
"Duck!" Ranma cried. They both ducked and avoided the hoop. And it's a good thing they did, because it was only after that did they noticed that the hoop had stuck itself into the opposite wall.
"What the!?" Rainbow Dash said as she looked at the hoop, only to see a slight gleam coming off the edge.
"Huh! It's bladed!"
"Say WHAT!?" Ranma said. He looked to where Rainbow was looking and saw to his horror that she was right.
"Hey! Whoever you are, you could have killed us!" He shouted at whoever was attacking them. Then came that horrible laugh again. It was so horribly annoying that the two of them had to cover their ears just to keep from having their ears bleed.
"OOOHHH HO HO HO HO!" The two young martial artists looked up and saw the person that attacked them. The person was indeed a woman.
She had long black hair in a side ponytail, a pretty face but it had a evil look to it that put the two of them off, brown eyes and she was wearing a green unitard. RAnma and Rainbow Dash both winced as they heard her laugh again.
"I see. So, the new replacement for this second rate school actually has a little fight in her huh? Color me slightly impressed."
"So you're the one who hurt my friends!" Rainbow Dash said, pointing a finger at the other girl who only laughed at her rainbow-haired accuser.
"Attacked? Oh you poor thing. I, the great Black Rose of St. Hebereke, Kodachi believe in fair play before the beginning of a match. That's why I come to see if my opponents meet my standards."
Ranma and Rainbow both looked at the girl with confused looks.
"Lady, that doesn't make a lick of sense." Ranma said. Rainbow Dash nodded her head.
"That whole statement is just one contradiction after another. Why can't you just say you're a crummy cheater who wants to take out her competition like any normal cheat?" She asked the weirdo. Kodachi huffed at her new enemy and whipped out her ribbon.
"Humph. A commoner like you would never understand. There for, die at my beautiful hand!" Kodachi said as she lashed out with her ribbon like a whip.
Ranma and Rainbow dodged to the side and avoided the ribbon, and a good thing to, because that ribbon was laced with ki and turned into a sharp blade!
"Yike!" Ranma said as he saw the ribbon slice the floor. "This chick plays for keeps!"
Rainbow was mad. Not only did this psycho attack and injury some of her friends but now she attacked both her and Ranma! She knew Ranma could probably handle this creep by himself, but she wanted to nail this bitch herself!
Rainbow jumped after the black-haired woman and lashed out with one of the moves Ranma taught her.
"Tatsumaki Senpuu Kyaku!" She cried as she spun at high speeds that caught the woman off guard. Kodachi yelped as the kick nailed her in the face and fell to the ground. She screamed in panic and thought that she was finished! Then, she felt a couple of arms catch her mid fall. She looked up and saw Ranma glaring down at her. But to Kodachi, she was looking at the prince charming that she had always dreamed of.
"Ok lady, you had your fun but now it's time to come clean!" Ranma said, only for Kodachi to clasp his face and force his lips outward.
"Kiss me my Prince!" She said as she tried to kiss Ranma. He freaked and threw the woman to the ground and lept back.
"Lady you ain't my type!" He said in a panic. Rainbow glared at the woman and jumped down beside Ranma.
"HEY! What's the idea lady!? You can't just kiss a guy out the blue like that!" She cried out. Kodachi just got off the floor and shook her head.
"Oh, why do the good ones always play hard to get?" She said to no one inparticular.
"Hard to get!?" Ranma exclaimed. "Lady, I have absolutely NO interest in you what-so-ever!"
"Oh, I see." Kodachi said. "This harrlet must have my prince bewitched. Fear not my love, for I Kodachi the Black Rose shall free you of this witch!"
She cried out as she lashed out with her ribbon again. Ranma and Rainbow dodged out of the way as they dashed closer to the ribbon waving nutcase.
"Sheesh, is it me, or does she remind you of someone?" Ranma asked as he and Rainbow lept into the air.
"Yeah, a little too much!" She answered as they both lashed out with a double flying side kick. Kodachi gulped as she braced herself for the impact. And when it came, it sent her flying right into the wall hard enough to leave an imprint in it.
"If I were you, I'd give up now lady." Ranma said crossing his arms. Kodachi looked at him and sighed as she let loose a swarm of black rose petals to distract the two as she leapt away.
"Don't think this is over you LGBTQ harlet. I Kodachi, shall defeat you in glorious competition and claim the lips of my love then. Until that time, so long! OOOOOOHHH HO HO HO HO!" She said as she made her escape. Ranma was really miffed but not as much as Rainbow Dash.
"I. Am. SO SICK AND TIRED OF PEOPLE CALLING ME AN LGBTQ JUST BECAUSE OF MY HAIR!" She said as she was covered in an aura of ki and magic. Ranam gulped as he backed away from his friend.
"Now now Rainbow. Calm down."
The next day, with only a day and a half to prepare for the gymnastics meet, Ranma and Rainbow decided to tell the others about their mysterious attacker.
"So, this woman comes out of the blue, attacks you, claiming it to be fair, then tries to kiss Ranma before she leaps away?" Twilight asked her two friends. They both nodded.
"And she had the nerve to make a gay pride joke about me too." Rainbow Dash added.
"I'm already starting to not like this woman." Applejack said. Sunset turned to Twilight.
"Say Twilight, think you can find out anything about this 'Black Rose'?" She asked. Twilight cracked her fingers and pulled out her PDA.
"Let's see..." She said as she started to search the web. As she searched, Pinkie pulled Rainbow aside to whisper in her ear.
"So, how did that unitard I got for ya work out, hmm?" She asked in a sly tone. Rainbow blushed and panicked at what her friend asked next.
"Did Ranma enjoy the view?" That last question got Rainbow to slap Pinkie in a lighthearted way.
"Shut up Pinkie!" She whispered harshly. "I had never been so embarrassed! I mean, what on Earth were you thinking getting me something THAT revealing? I hate unitards already, I don't want to be out in front of so many people with my butt practically on display!"
"What the!?" Twilight's voice caught the two of them by surprise as they and the rest of their group looked back to Twilight.
"What's wrong?" Rarity asked.
"Look." Was all Twilight said as she pointed to the screen. Everyone looked at the screen and gasped! There on the screen were the words...
Kodachi Kuno.
"SHE'S related to KUNO!?" Ranma cried out in shock.
"That...actually explains a lot..." Rainbow said, herco brain trying to wrap itself around the news she had just received.
"N-Now hold on everybody!" Applejack said, her voice shaky from panic. "It...it could just be a coincidence."
They heard the sound of fighting and turned to see Flash fighting Kuno.
"Speak of the devil..." Applejack said. Ranma's face set into a determined frown.
"Let's go get out answers straight from the horse's mouth." He said as he started marching, only to stop in his tracks.
"Uh...no offense Sunset." He said. Sunset looked at him in confusion.
"What do you...Oh..." She said, realization dawning on her. "Non taken Ranma."
As they got outside, they saw Flash finishing Kuno off with a Tatsumaki kick, sending the samurai wannabe to the ground. Ranma and the others applauded as Flash saw them and relaxed his stance.
"Hey guys." He said. Ranma smiled at his friend.
"Not bad Flash. You're definitely getting better. But, before you send Kuno here into unconciousness, do you mind if we ask him a couple of questions?" Ranma asked his blue haired friend. Flash looked confused for a second before shrugging his shoulder.
"Sure, I guess." He said. Ranma grabbed Kuno by the collar and dragged him to eye level.
"Ok dumbbell, here's what I want to know: Do you know someone named Kodachi Kuno?" Upon hearing those words, Kuno's eyes widened and his skin paled.
"How on Earth do you the name of my wicked sister!?" He said.
"SISTER!?" Gasped everyone. Ranma let go of Kuno, his face a picture of fear as his skin turned pale as virgin snow.
"I knew it." He said, fear evident in his voice. "I knew it. I was hoping I was wrong. Oh Lord in Heaven, why did it have to be so?"
"Isn't one Kuno in this world bad enough?" Sunset said. Pinkie and Fluttershy hugged each other in fear.
"Oh, I was hoping this wasn't so." Fluttershy said.
"Does God hate us or something?" Pinkie asked no one in particular. Flash and Kuno looked around at the scared people in confusion.
"What is wrong?" He asked. Ranma and the others told Flash and Kuno about the encounter with Kodachi last night and Kuno jumped in surprise.
"Oh what evil fate! One of the true loves of my life, a targeted victim of my own sister who is a taint on my noble bloodline." Kuno started to rant as he ran to hug Rainbow Dash, only to run into her foot.
"Screw your sympathy. I just want to know what's the deal with that screwy sister of yours! She claims to believe in fair play, but then she goes and tries to kill me and anyone she's slated to go up against! What's her problem?" Rainbow asked. Kuno removed his face from her foot and cleared his throat.
"Well, my fierce tigress. My sister as had a passion for the sport of Martial Arts Rhythmic Gymnastics ever since she was first introduced into the sport. But she is a perpetual sore loser."
"Much like someone else we know." Flash whispered in Ranma's ear, making him laugh.
"Anyway," Kuno continued. "She will do whatever it takes to win, even if it is unhonorable. She's such a crooked monster, that even her entire school will put up with it as long as it keeps them on a winning streak."
"Oh great! A whole school full of cheaters!" Rainbow said, throwing her hands into the air in exasperation.
"These people sound even worse than Crystal Prep used to be." Twilight said. Rarity massaged her temples at hearing that Kuno basically had a sister that was worse than he was.
"Well, what do we do now?" She asked. Kuno stood up bravely.
"Fear not my harem of my heart! I, Tatewaki Kuno, shall defend you with my life!" He said, only to get knocked out by Ranma and Flash with a double hammer fist to the head.
"So, what's our game plan here?" Sunset asked. Ranma cleared his throat.
"Well, first off, we need to set up a group guard so that if Kodachi attacks again, she'll find herself surrounded. Second, we get back to training so that Rainbow here can give this spoiled brat her first REAL defeat."
"And third..." Rainbow Dash chimed in. "If they cheat at the competition, we let that whole school have a Canterlot High beat down!" Everyone cheered in agreement at that.
Later that night, Ranma and Rainbow continued their training, with Pinkie and Applejack standing guard. Twilight was at her house, doing as much research as possible on all the past 'victories' that Kodachi had under her belt.
As Ranma and Rainbow started working on her acrobatics and how to use them for both evasion and for setting up possible attacks, Ranma was trying his hardest not to ogle at how hot Rainbow Dash looked in that unitard. He looked behind himself at the door. One reason was in case Kodachi decided to burst through and second because he was almost certain that Pinkie would try to get either a video or pictures of Rainbow in her unitard.
'Not that I can...DON'T FINISH THAT SENTENCE!' Ramna thought to himself. He shook his head. Rainbow was his friend, he shouldn't be thinking about stuff like that! If she knew what thoughts almost creeped into his head, she'd kill him.
As for Rainbow, she was trying NOT to think about Ranma looking closly at her scantly clad form. She hated that this unitard was showing not only how much she lacked in the bust in comparison to her friends, but REALLY hated how much of her pronounced derriere was on display.
'Please don't let Ranma be staring at my butt.' She thought as she landed, unfortunately, losing some of her balance due to exhaustion and bending over more than she should have. She could just feel her butt turning the unitard into a thong. She straightened herself as quickly as possible and turned to see Ranma, smiling but also a little flushed.
"Not bad Rainbow." He said, hoping she didn't notice the blush on his face. "I think you've got a real shot at winning this thing. Plus you look so happy flying through the air like that."
Rainbow Dash blushed at his praise. Smiling and scratching the back of her head.
"Heheh. Well, you do know that when I change into my Pony form I have wings. To be honest, I always felt like the sky was calling to me. Maybe that's why I want to join the Wonder Bolts so badly?" She said, rubbing her arm in embarrassment. Ranma walked up to his friend, a questioning look on his face.
"Say, Rainbow?" He started. "I couldn't help but notice that you really seemed to be enjoying doing all this gymnastics stuff. Heck, even those girls said that you had fun jumping through the air. Why did you stop? It couldn't just be because you only wanted to learn the acrobatics for martial arts."
Rainbow Dash looked away sheepishly. She should have known that Ranma would notice something like that. She took a deep breath as she decided to tell Ranma the truth.
"Ok. You caught me." She said. "Look, the truth is, I did love doing gymnastics. As much as I love all other sports."
"Then why'd you stop?" Ranma asked again, taking a step towards his friend.
"Well," Rainbow Dash said, "as I started getting older, I noticed..." She trailed off.
"Noticed what?" Ranma asked, taking a step closer to her.
"My..." She mumbled. Ranma tilted his head.
"What?" He said, leaning closer to her.
"MY BUTT! OK!" She cried out. "I noticed that my butt kept getting bigger and all the horny boys started whistling and calling me, 'Ghetto Booty', Rainbow Booty', 'Booty Dash' and some other things. Even the girls on my team kept adding fuel to the fire. Saying that I used my butt to score extra points or that I was doing this just to get guys' attention and crap like that. It got so bad that I quit and never looked back. Heck, I even started wearing baggy pants form a whole year just to stop the names."
Ranma looked at Rainbow with sympathy in his eyes.
"And...that's why you hit Pinkie all the time when she brings that up huh?" He asked. She nodded.
"It's...I know Pinkie doesn't mean anything by it. And I know she's just being her, but, when I hear stuff like that...I think back to all the names people called me and...and..."
She couldn't get the words out. But she did feel Ranma wrap her in a hug.
"I'm sorry Rainbow." He said. She smiled and hugged him back.
"Hey, what are you sorry about? You didn't call me those things."
"But still," He said. "I can't believe that you'd quit something you loved just because of some jerks." He said as they separated. Rainbow shook her head at him.
"Hey, I just got sick and tired of the names. Plus, I just didn't want everyone only thinking that I got a name for myself just because I have a rockin' ass."
Ranma chuckled nervously as he tried not to either look her in the face or say something that would get him in trouble. Rainbow saw this and chuckled.
"Say, you weren't by any chance buying attention to that part of me, were you, sensei?"She asked in a teasing tone.
"HEY! You-you're the one who brought it up!" He tried to defend himself. Rainbow laughed.
"Maybe I should start calling you Pervy-sensei! HA HA HA!" She said laughing. Ranma cracked his knuckles as he started tickling Rainbow's sides.
"NO! NO! STOP! HAHAHAHA! NOT THAT!" She said as she fell to the ground with Ranma on top of her. As he kept tickling her, they heard a cough from behind them. They turned and saw Pinkie and Applejack, snickering at them.
"Are...we interupting something?" Applejack asked. Ranma and Rainbow looked at each other and jumped to their feet, looking sheepishly at their friends.
"Uh...this isn't what it looks like." He said. Pinkie leaned in closer and grinned at him.
"Mmmhm. I'm sure it isn't."
After another day of training, the day of the big Martial Arts Gymnastics Meet had come. Celestia wasn't happy that a simple gymnastics competition had been turned into a martial arts contest, but she still had to show her support for her student. Rainbow Dash was in the changing roon stretching out, hoping that her stupid unitard wouldn't be a problem, and really hoping that there wouldn't be a resurgence of the old booty related nicknames coming form people watcning.
"You all set?" Came the voice of Pinkie Pie from behind her. Rainbow looked behind her and saw her crazy friend. She smiled and walked over to her.
"Yeah." She said.
"And don't worry," Pinkie butted in. "If anyone starts calling you butt related names, me, Applejack, Ranma and Sunset and Flash will nock them out." Rainbow looked at her friend n shock.
"Wait! You KNEW that was bothering me!?" She asked. Pinkie just kept smiling as she answered.
"Of course. That's why I made sure your unitard would show your butt! That way you'll be able to get over that whole thing you have about not wanting to do gymnastics anymore because people kept saying things about your big booty."
It took a few seconds for Pinkie's words to sink in. But as soon as it did, she was red with rage.
"WHAT!?" She screamed as she lunged for Pinkie's neck.
"NOW HOLD IT!" Pinkie said trying to ward off her angry friend.
"Now I know you're mad, but hear me out. I know you hated all those names they called you, but I know sometimes you miss gymnastics. SO...I thought that if you got over that whole thing about being self-conscious about your butt, you'd want to get back doing it again!"
Rainbow was still mad, but as Pinkie's words sank in, she started to think. In a weird way, in a Pinkie Pie way, she was just trying to help her out. She took a deep breath and put a hand on Pinkie's shoulder.
"Pinkie," She said. "I love you. But next time you have a cockamamie idea like that, let me know before hand,"
Pinkie smiled and gave a nervous giggle.
"Ok." She said. Then she hugged her rainbow haired friend. "Now get out there and kick some butt!" Rainbow grinned at her friend.
"You got it!"
And a few seconds later, an announcer from St. Hebereke was clearing his throat. Looking out at the gathered crowed, he took a deep breath and began to do his job.
"Good evening, ladies and gentlemen! Tonight we see the classic battle of East vs West. In the left corner, representing Canterlot High's incapacitated rhythmic gymnastics team, Rainbow Dash!"
And with that, Rainbow Dash came cartwheeling and somersaulting over to the ring that was set up for her and Kodachi's battle. As she came closer, she jumped and flipped into the ring. She waved to the crowd, basking in the cheers of the crowd.
"Hey look! Everybody it's Rainbow..." Whatever the person in the crowd was about to say was cut off when Ranma and Pinkie showed up, fists pointed at him.
"You even THINK of saying 'Rainobw Booty' and you'll be eating your meals through a straw." Ranma said in a threatening voice. The horny boy gulped.
"O...of course not! I was going to say 'Rainbow Dash'!" He said, panicking at the thought of being beat to death by Ranma and Pinkie.
Everyone else got the message and decided not to say anything except cheering Rainbow's name. The announcer coughed to quite everyone down and prepared to introduce the other competitor.
"And from St. Hebereke's school for woman, the star of the Martial Arts Rhythmic Gymnastics world! The Black Rose, Kodachi Kuno!"
Almost the whole auditorium cried in boos except for the students of St. Hevereke. The annoying laugh of Kodachi Kuno echoed throughout the auditorium as the cheating woman flipped form the ceiling down to the ring. She laughed and waved to the booing crowd, seemingly unaware of the boos she was getting.
"Agh! Stop laughing like Naga the Serpent! You are NOT pulling it off!" Pinkie cried at the top of her lungs. Kodachi didn't pay her any mind as she faced Rainbow Dash.
"So, ready to face me in defeat you flat chested, fat assed loser?" She asked in her haughty tone of voice. Rainbow growled at the rat-tailed girl.
"Oh it is ON now you bitch," was her only response as she kicked a pair of gymnastics clubs into the air and caught them as they fell. Kodachi whipped out her ribbon and twirled it in a mockingly confident matter.
"Contestants ready!?" The announcer and judge asked. "Begen!"
And with that, the two charged at each other! Rainbow came at Kodachi with a barrage of Kali strikes, but Kodachi managed to use her ki to harden her ribbon, making it a weapon of defense as well as offense.
After fending off Rainbow's attack, she flipped back and sent out her ribbon, using it to wrap around Rainbow. She landed behind her and yanked her close.
"Ready to give up?" She asked. Rainbow growled, hating the fact that the rules of the contest meant that she couldn't use any of her usual tactics to get out. But she smiled and shoved her ponytail into Kodachi's face.
Kodachi blanched and stepped back, losing her grip on rainbow, allowing her to spin out and do a low sinning strike with her clubs to knock Kodachi down.
"FOUL!" The referee called, stunning the onlookers and Rainbow.
"What!?" Rainbow dash cried out as Kodachi grinned and sweep kicked her feet out from under her.
"OOOOHHH HO HO HO!" She laughed. "Too bad. Should have let me end you before now."
Rainbow growled again and rolled to her feet as she charged at Kodachi again.
"HEY! That can't be right!" Twilight said from her seat with her friends. "The rules say that the only thing not allowed is a direct attack. She didn't hit her with direct attack, she just blinded her with her hair."
"I smell something fishy here." Rarity said. Ranma frownd.
"I wouldn't put it past a Kuno to cheat. Let's keep our eyes out." He said.
"I won't let a cheat like you beat me you bitch!" Rainbow Dash said as she flipped into the air and struck out with her clubs. Kodachi laughed as she dodged but stopped laughing when she got struck with a thrust to the gut followed by a fast barrage of strikes.
Kodachi fell to the ground, anger rising at having been struck down like that. Rainbow took up a Kali stance and grinned at the fallen gymnast.
"Aw, what's the matter? Not used to having a REAL opponent fight you? Oh, that's right, you cheat and knock them out before they can face you fairly."
Kodachi growled as she used her ki to wrap her ribbon around one of Rainbow's ankles and yank her down. She flippd into the air and took one of the hoops that was hanging above them and twirled it around her arm as she came back to the ground.
"How dare you strike my beautiful face in front of my Prince Charming!" She cried as she tried to strike Rainbow. She rolled away, but yanked Rainbow back as she threw the hoop at her. Remembering what happened last time, she ducked and was glad she did as she felt the hoop sore above her head and heard the sound of a blade hitting one of the posts holding the ropes of the ring together.
"HEY! That thing's bladed! JUDGE!" Rainbow called, only for the referee to act like he saw nothing, whistling a tune.
"HEY! ARE YOU BLIND!" Sunset cried, standing to her feet. "That quacks cheating!"
"And you're surprised because!?" Applejack asked.
"I bet that creeps on Kodachi's payroll." Pinkie said in disgust. "Let's break his leg."
"Hold it." Ranma said. "Let's be smart about this. Twilight, call Celestia."
"Ok, why?" Twilight said, taking out her phone. Ranma grinned.
"There's about to be a change in referees. Pinkei! Come with me!"
"Yes sir!" Pinkie said with a salute as the two of them snuck away to enact Ranma's plan. Twilight was about to dial Celestia, but a blast of wind knocked her phone from her hand.
"HEY!" She said as she and the others looked to where the wind came from and saw known other than Kodachi's brother, the Kuno they all knew and hated, sheathing his boukkto.
"Kuno!" Twilight said in shock. "But, why!? We were trying to stop Kodachi!"
"I'm fully aware my dear sweat Twilight of my life." Kuno said slicking his hair back. "But, when I heard that my twisted sister had arranged a bet that if she won, the foul sorcerer Ranma would be taken away back to Japan and allow me to once again court you six women, I was more than willing to put my personal feelings aside for the chance to free you from that fools clutches."
"WHAT!?" The girls exclaimed in shock.
"Ranma never made a bet with that psycho!" Sunset said.
"And even if he did, he's NEVER bet us!" Rarity said with a scowl.
"Are you really so stupid that you'd fall for that load of horse manure!?" Applejack said. And, of course Kuno was in his own little world, not paying attention to the common sense of the five girls in question.
"Hmph. Clearly that sorcerer's spell is still clouding your pretty little minds. But in any case..."
"AH SHUT UP!" Applejack said as she punched Kuno off of the bleachers and into the far off wall.
"Great, just freaking great! First we got a cheating psycho paying off a judge while she faces off against Rainbow Dash, now even Kuno is backing her up." She said in a huff.
"And who knows how many others she's got on her payroll." Sunset said. Fluttershy hugged herself as she started to shake.
"What do we do?" She asked. Sunset's face narrowed into a determined scowl.
"Here's what we're going to do. Fluttershy, you and Applejack come with me. We're going to see just how many other cheaters there are around here."
"How are we going to do tha?" Fluttershy asked.
"I'll bumped into use my magic to try and super charge my mind reading ability so I can weed out the one's on Kodachi's payroll. When I do, Applejack, shred them. And Fluttershy, use your 'STARE' on them. Rarity, you stay and help Twilight get her phone back."
And with that, the group split up. It was hard, but Sunset managed to focus on channeling her magic to her geode to amplify her mind reading powers. And she was shocked by how many goons Kodachi had in the audience. She did her best to point out who her two friends should go after, but the growing headache was starting to take its toll on her. And the nosebleed that followed told her that anymore and she may have an aneurism.
As for Twilight and Rarity, they looked down in between the bleachers where the bespeceled girl's phone fell, but they were having a hard time locating it so Twilight could levitate it back to her hand.
"I can't see it. Can you?" She asked her trendy friend. Rarity frowned as she squinted her eyes into the darkness beneath them.
"Sadly no. But has anyone cleaned under here in...well, ever!?" She repleid. Twilight shook her head.
"Focus Rarity. We need to find that phone and fast. Why oh why am I the only one of us to have Principle Celestia's phone number?" Twilight said. Rarity knew this wasn't going to work. But then, she got an idea. She pulled out her phone and created one of her diamond shields as she turned on the phone's light.
"Never underestimate a functional accessory." She said as she used the diamond shield to magnify her phone's flashlight.
"Rarity, you are brilliant." Twilight said with a smile. Rarity beamed.
"I know darling." She said as she aimed her enhanced light down into the dark. After a few seconds they found Twilights phone.
"Found it!" Rarity said.
"I see it." Twilight replied as she used her magic to levitate her phone back to her hand. She acted quickly and called Principle Celestia. Celestia felt her phone vibrate and pulled it out to see Twilight's name.
"Hello?" She said. Twilight explained what Ranma told her and before Celestia could ask anything else, she saw a puff of pink smoke in the form of a mushroom cloud coming from the referee's stand.
"Never mind, I think I see Ranma's signal." She said with a smirk.
Meanwhile, Ranma and Pinkie were sneaking to the where the referee was sitting. Ranma smirked as he whispered his plan to Pinkie. Pinkie giggled and nodded her head and sneaked her way towards the referee's table. She swiped a packet of sugar and poured her magic into it before sprinkling it into the ref's coffee.
As the paid off ref started to take a sip of his coffee, it suddenly exploded right in his face! He screamed as the hot coffee splashed all over himself, screaming in agony as he flew backwards from the blast. Ranma and Pinkie laughed at the sight as the fallen ref wiggled around on the ground, screaming in pain as he got up and ran all the way out of the auditorium.
"Well, that took care of him." Ranma said, a smug smile on his face. Pinkie giggled in agreement.
"Yep. So now what?" She asked.
"Now we wait for PC to get over here. Then we'll have a fair judge in this game." Ranma replied.
"So that was your idea, huh?" Came the voice of the very person Ranma wanted to see, for once. Ranma and Pinkie smiled as Celestia came over to the referee's table.
"Well, if you don't mind." Ranma said, waving to the table. Celestia chuckled.
"Well, it's lucky for you, I can't stand cheaters, so..." And with that, Celestia took her seat and cleared her throat.
"Attention. May I have your attention please?" She spoke into the microphone. "Due to extenuating circumstances, the previous referee had to step out. But fear not, for replacing him will be none other than I, Principle Celestia of Canterlot High."
"WHAT!?" Kodachi screamed as she heard what was just said. Rainbow smirked at the news.
"HA! Good luck cheating now bitch!" She said as she hooked Kodachi's neck with a hoop and did a hip throw to throw the girl close to the edge to of the ring.
"GRRRR! Hey you over inflated bimbo cow! You can't just replace my referee! You know NOTHING about this sport you swollen bitch!" She screamed like a child throwing a temper tantrum. Celestia narrowed her eyes at the spoiled cheater and cleared her throat.
"What I'm about to say is going to be in Japanese so many of you won't understand. But Rainbow Dash...Sono amayakasa re te sodatsu ta chiisana mesu inu wa hikisaku!"
Ranma stepped closer to the table and turned the microphone so that it faced him.
"For those of you who don't speak Japanese, she said: TEAR THAT SPOILED LITTLE BRAT APART!" Rainbow Dash smiled wickedly.
"With pleasure!" She said as she charged after her enemy once again.
Kodachi panicked for the first time throughout the whole match. This woman was giving her a run for her money and her personal referee was now MIA! This was NOT supposed to happen! She was Kodachi the Black Rose. She never lost at Martial Arts Gymnastics! She was supposed to win and ride into the sunset with her prince charming and leave her stupid brother here with those American women that he kept fawning over.
Now here she was, on the losing side for a change. And now with that stupidly overly stacked American principle refereeing the match she couldn't use her best cheats without getting disqualified. She HATED fighting fairly. No true winner won without using at least a few tricks. Thankfully, she still had some left.
She whipped out her ribbon once again and as she lashed out, Rainbow was hit with a barrage of black rose petals. She jumped back to avoid them, but suddenly she felt woozy.
"What the?" She said, fighting to keep standing. Kodachi laughed again and threw her clubs at Rainbow, who barely dodged. Ranma and the others watched, worry for their friend growing as they saw her struggling to move out of the way of Kodachi's attacks.
"Somethings up." Ranma said. Pinkie nodded.
"I bet it was one of Kodachi's dirty tricks again." She said as Kodachi attacked with more of her black rose petals.
"Hey, you don't think those rose petals have anything to do with it do ya?" Pinkie asked. Ranma narrowed his eyes.
"You may be on to something there, Pinks. Rainbow didn't start slowing down till after those petals started flying." As he said this, a few of the petals in question flew up to them. Ranma plucked one out of the air and sniffed it.
"UGH!" He said. "These things are spiked! She laced them with a sleeping powder."
"Why that cheater!" Pinkie exclaimed as she rolled up her sleeves and prepared to jump into the fray but was held back by Ranma and Celestia.
"Hold on Pinkie." Celestia said. "We can't do anything without proof."
"Well, we can't let her win by cheating." Pinkie exclaimed. Ranma thought for a second and came up with an idea.
"And she won't." He said as he whispered his idea to Pinkie. She grinned.
"Leave it to me chief!" She said as she jumped into the ring.
Once she got there, she laced some of her magic on a few of the black rose petals on the floor around the ring, scooped them up and threw them up into the air, right above Rainbow Dahses head. She was about to fall asleep when the petals charged with Pinkie's magic fell down onto her and exploded.
"YEOW!" She said as she bolted awake. She looked around and saw Pinkie smiling and waving at her friend.
"Thanks Pinkie. I needed that." She said, returning her friends smile.
"You're welcome. Now kick that bitch's butt!"
Rainbow smirked and launched her counter-attack. Kodachi tried her sleep petals again, only for Rainbow to hold her breath and and charged through her tricky move. Kodachi yelped and did her best to dodge Rainbow's attacks.
Rainbow kept up the pressure, smiling all the while as little by little, Kodachi was losing ground. She cursed to herself for she was in too close of range to use her ribbon effectivly. Seeing an opportunity, she kicked up a pair of clubs and tried to fight back against the rainbow-haired girl.
But thanks to all her training with Ranma, Rainbow Dash had a HUGE advantage against Kodachi in terms of close quarters stick fighting. While Kodachi's style focused on being graceful and showy, Rainbow Dash went for fast, agile and brutally to the point. Kodachi was not used to facing an opponent like that and it showed as she started to panic as Rainbow continued her assault.
With a quick move, she disarmed Kodachi of one of her clubs and in a split second, disarmed her of the other. Kodachi gasped as she was then hit with strike after strike, sending her back to the edge of the ring. Rainbow grinned as she shot forward, fully intent on finishing this cheater off once and for all.
Kodachi snarled at her enemy and charged at her to try and overtake her. But Rainbow was ready. As Kodachi lunged at her, she used the training that Ranma gave her to lock up Kodachi's arm with one of her clubs and spun the rat-tailed girl around a few times then jumped high into the air and threw Kodachi out of the ring.
Everyone who came for Rainbow Dash, and even a few who were on Kodachi's side, started to cheer, thinking that at long last the match was over. But Kodachi wasn't done just yet. Slipping one of her hands into her bosom, she pulled out a packet of dust and sent it flying towards Celestia.
"AH!" Cried Celestia as the packet of dust hit her in the eyes right before she could call Kodachi out.
"Celestia!" Ranma and Pinkie called out.
"Are you alright?" Pinkie asked as she cradled her principle.
"Agh! Something...something got me in the eye!" She said, rubbing at her eyes. Ranma ran to get her a bottle of water to wash her eyes, but as he did, he looked back up at the ring to see something very strange. The whole ring shot over to where Kodachi was falling and caught her before she hit the ground!
"WHAT THE HECK!?" Ranma and Rainbow and a lot of other people cried out loud. Kodachi laughed haughtily.
"I guess God is on MY side! OOOOHHHH OH OH OH OH"
"WHY THAT BITCH!" Ranma cried out.
"What!? What happened!?" Celestia asked.
"That bitch blinded you so you wouldn't be able to see her last cheat and call it out! She must have her whole team under the ring, and they picked up the whole thing and caried it over to catch her as she fell!" Ranma said, handing her the bottle of water.
"WHAT!?" Pinkie cried. "This is getting ridiculous! This match will never end at this rate!"
"Or at least not until she wins." Celestia said, splashing her eyes with water.
"Oh no she won't!" Ranma said getting up. "Not while I've still got one last trick up my sleeve."
Ranma then jumped and flipped his way over the crowd, drawing some of their attention, and landed in front of Fluttershy.
"Ranma..." She started.
"I know." He cut her off. "But she's not getting away with it. I've got a plan, but I need your help."
"Just name it." Fluttershy said, her face narrowing with controlled rage at the cheater who didn't want to admit when she was beaten. Ranma whispered his latest scheme into her ear. She nodded and ran to the nearest door and whistled loudly out it.
Answering her whistle was a bunch of skunks. She told them what Ranma had told her and they saluted as they ran into the auditorium and dashed under the ring, which had caught Kodachi at least twice more since the first time.
Under the ring, a group of girls were getting ready to do their jobs once again when one of them sniffed the air and smelled something foul. She looked around and then looked down...and screamed.
"AAAAAAHHHHHHH! SKUNKS!" She screamed, causing all the others to look and scream as well at seeing the skunks. They all ran out from under the ring, screaming all the way out of the door. Kodachi looked at her fleeing lackies and gaped.
"You cowards! Come back here this instant!" She screamed. When she looked back to Rainbow, she gulped. Rainbow was tired, panting, and staring right at her from a distance of 3 inches.
"No more cheap tricks, eh queen bitchy?" She asked with a smug smile. Kodachi grinned sheepishly as she backed away, only to hit the post of the ring.
"Well...guess what?" Rainbow Dash asked. She then flipped over Kodachi, used a single club to hook her neck like a garrote, and yanked hard so as to throw Kodachi out of the ring one last time. Rainbow wrapped her legs around the post that Kodachi bumped into so as not to fly out with her enemy, and watched as Kodachi went plummeting to the ground outside the ring!
Said woman screamed as she finally landed on the cold hard floor of the ground outside of the ring. Celestia, who had finally managed to get her eyes working again, grinned as she went back to the microphone.
"And with that last throw, the winner is...RAINBOW DASH OF CANTERLOT HIGH!"
The whole auditorium erupted in cheers as Rainbow Dash flipped back onto the ring. She looked around and thrust her hands in the air, crying out in joy at finally bringing this battle to an end.
"NO NO NO NO NO NOOOOOOOO!" Kodachi cried as she beat her hands on the ground like a baby throwing a temper tantrum. "YOU WERE NOT SUPPOSED TO WWWWWIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNN!"
Ranma and the others shook their heads at the spoiled brat. Ranma turned to Fluttershy and whispered something to her again. She nodded and called her skunk friends to her. She relayed Ranma's instructions to them and they rushed over to Kodachi as Ranma leapt back to the referee table.
"Excuse me. Everyone?" Ranma said into the microphone after clearing his throat. "I would like to take this time to ask that you all hold your noses and exit the gym as fast as possible. Before you ask why, look towards the beaten black rose."
Kodachi wondered what her "beloved" was talking about, but then she smelled something foul. She looked behind her and gasped before screaming out loud at the top of her lungs as a horde of skunks ran all over her, pinning her to the ground. And then...they fired the ultimate weapon that God had seen fit to give skunks.
And with that, the auditorium was emptied faster than an airplane going at Mach 2. And poor Kodachi would have to take a private plane back to Japan due to the stench. And her brother was forced to go with her as punishment for his part in helping his sister cheat. As for Rainbow and the others, they all had a big laugh at it while they were walking home that night.
"Well, I don't think we'll have to worry about them for a while." Sunset said in between laughs.
"Yeah, it'll probably take a few months for Kodachi to get the skunk funk out of her hair, let alone the rest of her body." Twilight said. Pinkie was laughing so hard she was rolling along the ground as she followed her friends.
"HA HA HA HA HA! Did you see that bitch's face when the skunks sprang on her!? HA HA AHA HA! Oh MAN! PRICELESS!"
Ranma clapped Rainbow on the back as he calmed down from his own laughing fit.
"Well, let's hear it for the NEW champion of Martial Arts Rhythmic Gymnastics. The one and only RAINBOW DASH!" He said, raising said girl's arm up high in the air.
"Heh heh. Thanks guys. But I don't think I would have won without you guys backing me up like that. Thanks." Said rainbow-haired girl said bashfully.
"It was our pleasure Dashy." Applejack said as she playfully punched Rainbow in the arm. They all went about their separate ways after that, but Ranma stayed with Rainbow Dash all the way to her house. She could have run, taken her bike or asked her parents for a ride, but she wanted to walk home to enjoy the night air. And having Ranma with her made her feel...strange. Not in a bad way, but, in giddy kind of way.
"Well, that was quite the night huh?" She said, trying to break the silence. Ranma scratched the back of his head, for some reason, feeling super nervous.
"Yeah." He said. "But hey, you won. And we've gotten to send a couple of assholes packing. All and all, I'd say it was a good night."
She laughed that. Somehow, Ranma always seemed to know how to break tension with a joke. She loved that about him. She blushed at that. Where did that come from? She pulled her jacket tighter, catching Ranma's attention.
"You cold Rainbow?" Ranma asked his friend. "Do you want my shirt? I can last in a tank top for a while."
"No no! I'm fine!" She said hastily with a blush. "I just...can't wait to get out of this stupid unitard." She said, trying to change the subject.
"Oh. Right." Ranma said, looking away with a blush. "I... guess you really don't like dressing like that huh?"
She shook her head furiously.
"Heck no! Believe me, even if I do decide to take up gymnastics again, I am NEVER wearing something like this every again!" She said in a huff.
"Too bad." Ranma said, placing his hands behind his head. "I thought you looked kind of hot in it."
He slapped his hand across his mouth as soon as the words left his mouth. Rainbow Dash whipped her head around and looked at Ranma with wide eyes.
"Huh?" She asked.
"I...I mean..." Ranma tried to cover for himself. "I mean you looked a heck of a lot better in it than Kodachi did! Ha ha!" He said with a nervous laugh. Rainbow laughed with him, just as nervous.
"Uh yeah. Ha ha." No sooner had they said these words, they came upon Rainbow's home.
"OH! Uh...here's my stop!" She said as she ran to the door. She stopped, turned to face Ranma, and rushed over to hug him. Ranma was stunned, but he returned her hug. Rainbow quickly kissed Ranma on the cheek.
"Thanks for everything...sensei." She said before rushing into her house. Ranma just stood there for a second. Then another. Then another.
"Why did I say that!?" He said as he finally came back to himself. He rushed home, intending to take an ice-cold shower. As for Rainbow Dash, she changed out of her unitard and was about to throw it away. But for some reason, she just couldn't bring herself to do it.
She looked at it for a few seconds, then tossed it into the dirty clothes. Either she or her mom would wash it later. She took a shower, cold, and went to bed. She tossed and turned in her sleep, unable to get the image of Ranma cheering her on as she dreamed of winning yet another gymnastics meet.
After the gym and the rest of the school was cleared for students and faculty to return to, the students dreaded the coming of one of their greatest enemies before the summer holiday...final exams.
Ranma was strolling through the halls as the school day was coming to an end, humming a tune to himself, when he heard the sound of the intercom come on.
"Ranma, will you please report to the principle's office? Ranma, report to the principles' office please."
Ranma looked up at the intercom speaker with a look of puzzlement. He shrugged and headed down the hall the office. When he got to the office, he opened it expecting some kind of trap. He saw nothing but Luna waiting for him. She looked up, saw Ranma and pointed to the door to her sister's private office.
"She's in there. No traps this time, just business." She said, reading the question in Ranma's eyes.
"Ok." He said, walking in but not truly lowering his guard. He opened Celestia's door and saw her reading through some papers on her desk. She looked up but didn't smile at him this time.
"Ranma, have a seat." She said. Ranma did so, not really liking the dead seriousness in his principle's tone.
"Ranma," She began. "You do realize that the end of term exams are coming up, right?" She asked. Ranma nodded.
"Yeah, so?"
"So, I've been going over your grades since you transferred, and I realize that you're in danger of failing if you don't pass." She said. Now Ranma was starting to worry. Master Asia had made it abundantly clear that his education should be just as important as his martial arts. If he was in danger of failing, who knows what his master might do to him.
"Um...how bad is this?" He asked nervously. Celestia took a deep breath.
"I'm sorry to say this Ranma, but...if you don't manage to get at least a B on your exams I'll have to put you in Summer School." She said. Ranma was taken aback by that. Summer School!? That was even worse than that stupid Gala he was forced to go to. He gulped hard.
"And," Celestia continued. "I've spoken to Master Asia, and he agrees that if you fail, not only will you be in Summer School, but you'll also be forbidden from doing any sort of martial arts training for the duration of the Summer."
"WHAT!?" Ranma screamed in panic. Celestia closed her eyes and sighed.
"Look Ranma," She started to say. "I know martial arts is like breathing air for you but..."
She trailed off as she opened her eyes and saw that Ranma was gone. All that was left was a dust trail that led right out her door. She rushed to the door and saw her sister knocked onto the floor in a daze.
"Luna! Are you alright?" She asked as she ran over to her sister to help her back up. Luna blinked her eyes. Stunned and trying to remember just what the heck happened.
"...I...don't know..." She said as she tried to clear the cobwebs out of her head. "I was just looking over some papers at my desk. Then all of a sudden, a red blur shot right past me and out the door with such force that it felt like a tornado blew past me."
Celestia could only think of one thing. Ranma was so freaked out at the prospect of not being able to train that he ran out of not just Celestia's office, but at the speed he was going, probably right out of the school as well. Well, if she wanted to motivate the boy into paying more attention to his studies, she hit the jackpot.
Ranma was running faster than he had ever ran in his entire life. His summer and his training were on the line! Three whole months of no training!? Was Celestia TRYING TO KILL HIM!? He needed to get smart, fast! And there was only one person he knew he could ask for help this time. He only had less than a month to prepare for the exams, so that meant he needed the help of his smartest friend, Twilight Sparkle. Thankfully, the girls gave him all their home addresses in case of an emergency. And he was DAMN sure THIS qualified as one.
He ran at Mach 3 speed towards his brainiac friend's house, and as soon as he got to the front door he started banging on the door shouting his friends' name.
"TWILIGHT! TWILIGHT! TWILIGHT! TWILIGHT! TWILIGHT! TWILIGHT!" He kept calling over and over again as he banged on the door. He kept going, over and over again, hoping she would answer him! Sadly, he was so caught up in his barrage of knocks, that he didn't notice someone open the door...and his fists ended up bashing him over and over again until he was knocked unconscious.
"AGH!" He screamed, finally noticing he had knocked out some guy. He panicked, who was this guy? Upon looking closer at the guy, he noticed certain family similarities to the friend he had come to see.
"Oh...no..." He said as he started looking left and right and dragged the man back into the house.
"Oh please God, please don't let this be Twilight's dad. Please don't let this be Twilight's dad. Please don't let this be Twilight's dad!"
"Ranma?" Came the voice of Twilight Sparkle from up stairs. "Was that you banging on my door...WHAT THE HECK HAPPENED TO MY DAD!?"
"Oh crap..." Ranma said. Now he was really going to get it.
"I'm so sorry!" He said, bowing is head in shame.
After explaining what happened, about both her dad and what happened at school, Ranma got on his hands and knees, bowing like he was in front of a temple.
"Please Twilight! I need your help! I can't go a whole three months without training, let alone a whole day! Please! I need you to make me smart!" He begged the bespeceled girl. Twilight was taken aback. She'd never seen Ranma quite like this. He was desperate. She took a deep breath.
"Ranma," She began. "Of course I'll tutor you."
"REALLY!?" Ranma said with stars in his eyes. He jumped up and hugged Twilight.
"Thanks Twi! You're the best egghead friend ever!" He said. Twilight couldn't help but blush. Honestly, how hard could it be to get Ranma ready for the exams?
In short...HARD! Ranma really wasn't stupid or anything, but cramming nearly a years worth of school lessons into a few short months was NOT an easy job! He was slow to figure out the higher math that she was trying to teach him, but that was mostly because of how his father had limited his learning of any basic arithmetic's or anything really.
Literature wasn't so bad. He got the jest of most of it, but he was still slow to grasp any real meaning behind certain concepts that they had been taught in class. Still, in time, he could learn enough to get a passing grade in that subject.
Science was his weakest subject. He just couldn't grasp the finer aspects of her favorite subject. She wasn't sure he could get anything higher than a D in this class. Maybe she could teach him to get a C, but it would be by the skin of his teeth.
Twilight groaned and massaged her temples. It had been almost a week since she started tutoring Ranma, and things were not going all that great. Ranma was trying, honestly trying, but because of the upbringing he had, always traveling and never spending much time at a school of any kind except for martial arts schools.
She already hated the man after everything she had heard about him from Ranma and after hearing about and seeing the Nekoken, but now she had a new reason for hating the man. She was positive now more than ever that Ranma's father had purposefully sabotaged his own son's intellectual training so that he would be all muscle and no brain. A great fighter but probably dumb enough to follow anything his dad told him.
She sighed. It was like trying to undue a whole lifetime's worth conditioning. Ranma on the other hand was practically pulling out the hairs on his head. He didn't have much time left before the exams and he still didn't know enough to get at least a B in anything!
"AAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!" He screamed in frustration. "IT'S HOPELESS! I'll never get this crap in time! I'm going to have to spend my whole summer in that stupid Summer School!"
Normally, Twilight would take offence to someone calling school of any kind stupid but at this point she was too tired to really even care. She was sure Ranma could pass some of them, but if Celestia really wanted to get at least a B on all of them, she couldn't help but think that she wanted him to bomb the exams. Considering her standpoint on martial arts as a whole, she wouldn't be too surprised.
"Ranma, we are not giving up!" She said as she stood up. "I refuse to accept that there's someone I can't teach to get a passing grade!" She said, an aura of pride coming off of her body.
"I appreciate it Twi, I really do. But let's face it, I'm a stupid moron with barely a brain cell to my credit. I'll never pass at this rate." Ranma said, almost sounding like he was getting ready to admit defeat.
"Oh, so your just going to let that dead beat dad of yours and Principle Celestia get the last laugh and know they beat you?" The dark purple haired girl asked her depressed friend. Suddenly, Ranma shot right back up, book in hand, opened to a random page.
"So, where were we?" He asked. Twilight smirked, Rarity was right, Ranma's pride about admitting defeat was the best way to motivate him to do almost anything.
"Let's take a break first." She said.
"Twilight!" Came a voice from down stairs that made both teens jump.
"It's my dad! Hurry! Cover your face! We don't want to take the chance that he'll remember you knocked him unconscious!"
Ranma obeyed his friend and ran to the corner of his friends room, surrounding himself with books. Twilight went to answer her father's call. She smiled, trying not to look as if she were hiding something.
"Hi dad, what's up?" She asked. Her father rubbed the back of his head, a smile on his face.
"Just checking up on you and your friend. How's the studying going?" He asked. Twilight's smile dropped.
"Not good. I'm afraid I won't be able to help him." She said. Her father took her in his arms and hugged her.
"Well darling, you can't help everyone. No matter how hard you try." He said, trying to console her.
"The thing is, if I had more time I'm sure I could help him get a B at least. It's not that he's dumb or anything, it's just that he doesn't really seem all that interested."
That made Twilight's dad think. Maybe there was something he could do to help his daughter out.
"You know Twilight," He started to say. "In my years of teaching, I've found that if you have a student that has trouble learning something, the best way to help them learn is to change up the way you teach it so that it involves something that they're interested in."
That made Twilights eyes go wide. Of course! Why didn't she think of that!?
"Dad! I love you!" She said as she hugged her father and kissed his cheek. She rushed back to her room, calling Ranma's name.
Twilight's dad smiled. But he did wonder why it was that he still hadn't seen this boy Ranma yet. If he didn't know any better, he would swear that his daughter was trying to hide Ranma from him.
Meanwhile, Ranma was sitting in Twilights room, moaning in despair about his soon to be ruined summer. Suddenly, Twilight came charging into the room.
"Ranma!" She screamed, scaring both Ranma and her dog Spike. Spike was so spooked that he jumped right into Ranma's arms.
"Ranma! I've got it. I've got an idea on how to help you get this stuff memorized for the exam." She said with a big smile on her face. Ranma took a deep breath and sighed as he put Spike down.
"Twilight." He said. "I appreciate it, really I do. But I think it's hopeless." He said as he got up and started to head for the door. But Twilight got in his path.
"Oh no you don't!" She said as she got in his way. "I've still got one last trick." She said as she got one of the math books and flipped to an algebra problem.
"Ok, let me ask you a martial arts question Ranma." She said. Ranma looked at her with a funny look but shrugged his shoulders.
"Ok." He said. Twilight smirked and hoped her dad's advice would work.
"Let's say you have a kata that's 25 moves long. You've done a certain number of moves and you have, let's say...14 moves left. How many moves have you done?"
"11, duh." He said, bored and insulted at the same time. A white belt could figure that out.
"Ok. Let's try this one. You're fighting an opponent who's three times your size. For the sake of argument you're about 4 feet high..."
"What?" Ranma said in confusion.
"Humor me." Twilight said. "Now, with what I just told you, how tall is your opponent?" She finished asking. Ranma thought for a moment.
"3 x 4...Sheesh. He'd be about 12 feet. Pretty big guy." Ranma said. Suddenly, Twilight's arms were around him in a big hug.
"Ranma! Do you ralize what you just did!? You did algebra!" She said in excitement. Ranma went wide eyed.
"I did?" He asked.
"Yes! You did!" Twilight said as she showed him the page of the book she was reading. It was the page that had some of the problems Ranma was stuck on. And Twilight showed him that the two questions that she had just asked him were reworded from the book.
"Y-you mean..." Ranma started to say.
"Yes! If you think of the questions in martial arts terms then you can use your current knowledge to figure the out!" She said. Ranma went wide eyed. Then he started to smile as he grabbed the book.
"Hit me with another one teach!" He said enthusiastically. Twilight smiled at Ranma's entusiasm. She would help him pass these exams yet.
The days passed, and Ranma and Twilight studied hard. The others tried to help as best they could, but the way Twilight had planned to help teach Ranma was beyond what they could grasp. Master Asia watched in surprise as Ranma studied harder than he had ever seen him study anything other than martial arts.
Ranma woke up the day of the exams, nervous and anxious. He NEEDED to pass if he wanted to keep training with Master Asia and train his friends as well as his growing number of new students. He entered each of his classes, his head held high and a look of extreme concentration on his face.
Each day was a different subject. And when the week was finally over, Ranma could never remember a time when he had been so nervous. The results of all the final exams where handed out during homeroom. Ranma gulped as his results where handed to him by his homeroom teacher. He flipped the paper over and read its contents. And with every line he read...
...His smile grew even bigger!
"YEAH HHHOOOOOOOO!" Came the cry of one pigtailed martial arts master in training as he ran to see all of his friends.
"GUYS!" Ranma cried out in happiness. "I did it! I PASSED!"
"Really!?" Twilight and Pinkie said in surprised happiness before running up to Ranma and reading his results.
"Oh my gosh!" Twilight said. Ranma hugged his glasses wearing friend.
"Twilight! I Love you, you know that!" He said. "I love you and that big sexy brain of yours!"
That last one made the poor girl blush like never before.
"Y-y-you think my brain is...sexy?" She said with a stuter.
"You bet I do!" Ranma replied, kissing the girl on the cheek.
"You are the best and prettiest tutor in the world! You cute, beautiful genius you!"
Poor Twilight blushed even redder than a tomato at that as her glasses started to fog up. As this was going on, Pinie took the paper and read over it.
"Whoa! Ranma wasn't kidding! He even did better than you in a few places Rainbow Dash."
"WHAT!?" She said as she snatched the paper to read it herself. Sunset looked over her friend's shoulder and whistled.
"Whoa, he got a B in everything except English Literature."
"What'd he get in that?" Applejack asked. Sunset looked back at her blonde friend.
"Believe it or not, he got an A." She said with a smirk.
"WHAT!?" Came the voice of Celestia from behind the group. Upon seeing her, Ranma took back his results sheet and dashed over to the busty principle and waved it in her face.
"Read 'em and weep, baby! Read 'em and weep!" He said, grinning like a mad man. Celestia took the paper and read it. Reread it. And reread it several more times to make sure that he hadn't doctored it. Her eyes went wide as saucers and her mouth dropped.
"Well," She started to say. "I'm...impressed, Ranma."
She smiled as she handed the paper back to Ranma.
"I really am impressed. I guess this just proves what you can accomplish when you put your mind to it, doesn't it?" She said.
"It sure does." Ranma said with a beaming smile. "And to think, I was so worried about the exams until Twilight started tutoring me."
"Oh really." Celestia said, but her smile soon fell upon hearing Ranma's next words.
"Yeah. As soon as Twilight taught me to reword the questions in martial arts terms, I started picking it up no problem."
Upon hearing that, Celestia's eyes went wide again, her smile started to look more and more forced, and her right eye started to twitch.
"Oh...is that so...?" She said through clenched teeth. Ranma smirked at his principle and crossed his arms.
"Oh, poor PC." He said, shaking his head at the look on Celestia's face. "It looks like your little plan to get me to not practice martial arts backfired on you once again. And my love for martail arts saved my skin again too."
He pat Celestia on the shoulder as he and his friends walked past her. Twilight shrugged at her mentor figure.
"Sorry Principle Celestia. But fair is fair. You can't win them all." She said as she walked off to join her friends. When they were gone, Celestia turned to the lockers and started banging her head against them.
"Welp, no Summer School and lots of training for me this summer. And not only that, but I'll be able to train my new students and you guys." He said. Flash smiled at his friend and sensei as he readjusted his guitar.
"Well, I'm happy for ya Ranma." He said. "But first you've still got to get through that Galla thing with the girls."
Upon hearing this, Ranmas smile dropped.
"Oh yeah. Forgot about that." He said with a frown. The girls all snickered at this.
"Twilight!" Came a voice that made them all turn to see Twilights dad come out of his car.
"Dad!" Twilight said as she ran to hug her dad. "What are you doing here?"
"Well, heh heh. I wanted to see how well your friend did after all that tutoring you did for him."
Twilight blushed.
"Well...He passed! And it's all thanks to that advice you gave me dad!" She said. Her father smiled and blushed a little at the praise.
"Well I'm glad." He said. Then he finally got a look at Ranma, the person he had heard about and squinted his eyes at the boy.
"Have we met before?" He asked. Ranma started to shake and sweat.
"Um...Nope. Na huh. I don't think so. I'd remember meeting someone like you sir." He said with a big smile. As Twilights dad was about to let it go, they all turned when they heard a loud scream coming from Principle Celestia.
"AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" She screamed in rage as a locker of all things flew right out of the school door and right above the gathered group.
"Yipe!" Ranma said as he pushed Twilights dad out of the way of the falling locker. It crashed with where they were a second ago and Ranma wiped his forehead and sighed in relief at avoiding what was more than likely Celestia's anger getting the better of he.
"Sheesh. I know she's mad at me for getting the best of her again but still..." Ranma said as he looked back to Twilight's dad.
"Are you ok sir?" He asked.
"I think so." Twilgiht's father said as he looked up at Ranma...and then a certain memory came to his mind as he took a closer look at Ranma.
"You!" He said. "You! YOU! Now I remember! You!"
"Uh oh!" Ranma said as he got up and ready to run.
"Uh...well! See ya later guys!" He said and he took off running.
"Get back here!" Twilight's dad said as he took off after Ranma.
They ran around the school and past the gardening club, where Twilight's dad swiped a shovel and started swinging it at Ranma.
"SERIOUSLY!?" He said as he took off running into the setting sun. Upon seeing this, all of Ranma's friends dropped their jaws at the sight. Except for Flash, who retuned his guitar and started playing a line from a certain song.
"And I can still see your dad, Running after me with a shovel in his hand. Don't remember much after that. La la, lala. La la, lala. Whoa, whoa."
Pinkie: Hey everybody! Pinkie Pie here. First off, the authors want to say that they're sorry for the delay with this chapter, but real life comes first. Second, they REALLY wanted to get this chapter posted in time for this story's two year anniversary, but things just kept getting in the way. But, anywho, better late than never, right? Anyway, in the next chapter, Fluttershy and Ranma find a little lost animal out close to the shelter and try to nurse it back to health. And also, Sunset wants to take Ranma out to an arcade to celebrate his passing the exams before the Galla! And to top it off, either this chapter or next, the authors want to put me and Ranma together to work on some of our own dance moves for the Galla. And I don't mean slow dancing.
