Just to let anyone who reads this story know, that one of my Main characters will be changed. So my character Skyler is basically Mon with a different personality.

Chapter 1

It was a sunny morning and a very good start to a new day and a new job… but not for Mon; who is standing near her motorcycle wearing her leather black and blue jacket with a white long sleeve button shirt and pitch black khaki pants and black and white sneakers. She handed her keys to the valet and asked them to be careful with her. She walked over towards the building where she was going to start working but also hesitating whether she would enter or not. Diversity was a new prestigious Company that had been around for the past four years. Mon wasn't sure why she was standing there until she remembered the beginning of why she needed to be there.

Flashback;

Natsuki was having breakfast in the backyard while feeding her wolf pup Duran, when she saw her cousin approaching her, and based on the scowl on the young girls face something must've happened,

"What's wrong?" she asked.

"Aunt Saeko and mama want to talk to both of us." Mon answered who stopped in front of her blue-haired cousin.

"Why?"

Natsuki asked with a frown but Mon just shrugged her shoulders and looked inside the house.

"They're waiting in her office," she said while ignoring Natsuki's question.

"Alright"

Natsuki replied and stood up from her chair and walked with Mon back inside the house and into the office where Saeko Kuga, a young CEO of Kuga Entertainment and a very wealthy and beautiful woman. Natsuki had the appearance of her mother which also included her straight blue mane but had possessed her late father's emerald jade eyes which were mesmerizing, and some would say hypnotizing. But the real heroine of this story is her cousin…

Mon Tsunami-Kuga had the appearance, humor and attitude of her mother Naksu Tsunami, you would say that she was like a younger version of her mother. But the only thing she possessed from her father was his ocean blue eyes. Hachi Kuga was Saeko's younger brother who flew off the deep end. He had been stripped from his title and name, gambling away his inheritance by trying to settle old debts and getting involved with the wrong people that he owed money to. And if that wasn't enough, he went ahead and tried to use his wife and child's inheritance when his sister wouldn't give him a single penny. Naksu divorced his no good stealing ass and also cut off his ties to the Tsunami fortune and was forbidden to ever see his daughter again. After Mon had learned what her father had done to her aunt and mother she had decided that she would never come to forgive him or to love any man of any status.

Mon happens to be a famous songwriter and music producer with a brilliant and amazing voice and has a grand talent with any type of instrument, it was her past that made her pursue this career; She somehow, always found herself delving into her music whenever she was in one of her moods. She was able to create many songs and sounds and perform in front of hundreds of thousands of people; under her alias name 'Alpha Phoenix' along with a few of her friends who were also a part of the group whom they called themselves 'The Alphas'. That was the only time she felt truly happy; pretending to be something she loved.

When Mon and Natsuki entered the room they both seated themselves in the two seat sofa in front of their parents which was across the center table that was placed between them.

Saeko had been sitting upon a sofa waiting for them and next to her was Naksu who was standing tall and full of confidence.

"Tsuna said you want to talk to us?" Natsuki asked.

"I do"

The elder Kuga answered and focused her eyes on Natsuki.

"It's regarding the person to your right" She said then both girls looked to the right, Saeko glance at her niece before looking back at her daughter "the problem is your cousin here"

"What Tsuna do this time?"

Natsuki asked and the young girl rolled her eyes and let out a loud sigh.

"I hit one of the Kanzaki twins." she answered proudly at her green eye cousin which made her grin.

"Really! Who was it?" Natsuki asked excitedly.

"Reito."

Mon answered and Natsuki whistled in awe then joined in the laughter but Mon's mother shuts them up.

"It's not a laughing matter!"

Naksu said seriously and Mon looked back at her mother with dissatisfaction.

"Mon's hatred of men is becoming more and more troublesome"

"He's the one that was getting to handsy. He should've taken the hint when that girl threw her wine glass at him."

Mon said with a sigh and Natsuki glanced over at her cousin who had become quiet. After what happened to her father, Mon has hated men ever since and treats them as her enemy; and every time a man tries to touch her by accident or on purpose they all end up on the floor or the wall.

Natsuki was always a fan of the violence that her cousin does to the men that cross her path. She respects Mon's feelings and protects her from any harm and both parents were silently supporting them too and tried to understand the young brunettes' reasoning patiently but this time Saeko and Naksu lost their patience.

"We have to correct it as early as possible," Saeko added.

"What are you planning to do to fix the situation?" Natsuki asked.

"That's simple. You both will be going back to Japan, the merger with the Fujino family went through last month."

"Well that's good news. You and Shizu can get to know each other all the time now." Mon winked and nudged her cousin's shoulder.

Natsuki gave a small ice glare with a hint of pink that appeared on her cheeks.

It's true. But if they really knew that we both already know each other. Too well.

Natsuki was lost in her thoughts.

"Natsuki will take over the company with the Fujino heiress as planned. And Mon, will be working for Diversity Industry"

"What!?" Natsuki and Mon shouted.

"My precious rebel here will be attending that company to help it grow."

"Then why not just send me away with Natsu? At least there I'll know people who'll know me!"

"That is exactly why we are sending you there. No one there will know you. You will go there as a new employee for their new music department and to help the owner of the company. It seems that their talent scouts have not been able to scoop out new talent."

"Maybe perhaps Kuga and Fujino Enterprises have already taken all the talent in the country. What's the point of this company doing the same thing?"

"Because they need the experience. The owner of the company is smart, talented, creative and passionate."

"Well if that's the case then why aren't they doing their job right?"

"Until recently business has taken a downfall on their parts. It seems that the employees have been known to get fired over little things."

"Well did anybody ever tell the CEO if they keep firing their employees then they won't have a company or business to run. Seriously, what stupid thinking is that!?"

"Exactly. And what better way to fix it, then you. You've done it before with the last two companies that rose above it. You can do it again."

This is ridiculous. I don't know why I even bother arguing. I swear this can't get any worse. Mon thought to herself in dread.

"There is more…I will also set you up to an arranged marriage"

"You can't do that!"

Mon had become pale and frightened as she protested while standing from the sofa, she could handle living alone without servants or any luxurious amenities to rely on. But an arranged marriage? There's no way that she would agree on that.

I knew she wouldn't like that. Naksu thought with a grin.

"Yes I can, Mon! And your mother also agreed"

Mon thought to herself that her mother had agreed with her aunt, 'Traitor' she was about to argue back when Natsuki silenced her.

"Let's make a deal"

Natsuki proposed to her mother before glancing up to Mon and signaling her cousin to sit down. She obeyed but with a scowl on her face.

"Alright, what's the deal darling?" Saeko asked.

"If Tsuna is able to turn Diversity around in three months… then you will leave her alone and let her do whatever she wants in her life. No arrange marriages" Natsuki started which made her mother and aunt think while Mon's brow furrowed in displeasure.

"Hey, don't make deals that involve my freedom" she whispered.

"Just shut up and listen, will you"

Natsuki said looking at her then back at her mother who was now nodding in consideration.

"But if she fails to do so, then she will be accepting that arrange marriage"

Mon was shocked at Natsuki's last statement and looked at her cousin in disbelief.

"You can't be serious?"

"Yes I am, Tsuna" Green eyes answered, while staring into blue ones.

"But...what about my job!?"

"It's alright Kiddo, it's all been taken care of. Take your time. You still have a whole three months."

"But..."

"No more buts" Her mother stated clearly.

Saeko Kuga looked at her daughter's eyes and saw that the girl whom she was proud to call her daughter was serious. She knew that Natsuki didn't want to put her cousin in the situation but, she also knew that Mon needed to grow up

"I accept," she answered and looked over to Naksu.

"I agree."

"I swear, you're becoming more and more like her every day. Whatever you say" Mon stood up and stormed out of the office and headed towards her room.

End Flashback.

"Oh that's right, blackmail. Now I remember."

Mon roamed around the courtyard area just memorizing her surroundings and noticed that there was a fountain in the center. For some reason it gave off some form of tranquility. Especially with the grassy area that surrounded all around the marble fountain. A rather soothing sound can be heard, to others it would only sound like splashing water which they are not wrong, but to others who have keen prospective hearing can sense the difference between hardcore splashes to soothing drops. She had compared the two and knew that both were different in appearance, but in sync by harmony and melody. She grinned in satisfaction as she finally made her way into the building, where she was greeted by a friendly young woman.

"Welcome, you must be Tsuga-san?"

"I am. Please call me Mon."

"Ohh! That's nice to meet you. I'm Yha. Well follow me please I'll show you around."

Mon grinned in amusement as she nodded and followed her up a few stairs. In the whole ten minutes with her new companion, Mon had observed the building and realized that nothing around here symbolizes what this company represents or should represent. Once we got to another set of stairs the brunette had noticed a small flier on a bulletin board with a picture of a stunning woman, but looking closer to the flier she wasn't sure if someone meant to choose this particular photo because it looks like it could be made into a mugshot.

"Mon-san? Mon-san!"

"Huh?"

"Come on, I'll introduce you to the others," Yha said.

Mon continued up the stairs and caught up to her. Inside she felt a little nervous but pushed it down so she could deal with it later.

"Everyone, our new freshie is here. Her name is Mon."

"Hi!" Everyone announced.

"Hi. Did you just call me a freshie?" She whispered.

"Oh, don't take it too seriously. We call all the newbies freshies. So please don't take it to heart."

Once again Mon noticed that everyone in the building were speaking English and apparently some of them were failing miserably. So she decided to stop torturing herself and for them.

"Please all of you. You don't have to strain yourself to speak English. I can speak and understand your language." She announced and in perfect condition. Everyone was happy and relieved that they didn't have to work so hard just to communicate with her.

"It really is a relief to know that you speak our language. So anyways, during your three months probation I will be your mentoring partner."

"Hiii! I'm here. Is this the new girl? Oh very nice."

"Always a step behind. She's not a foreigner. She speaks Japanese."

"But her profile says she came from America."

"Hmm, I was born and raised here in Japan. But I spent most of my life in the States. My family travels a lot."

Mon didn't feel like it was necessary to tell her new coworkers about her life or what they didn't know that was in her profile.

"Oh, well then I am Noi, I'm the HR who recruited you."

"Thank you very much."

"The reason why I chose you was because of your good looks. Your profile picture captured my attention and looked great."

"Noi! Stop playing around." Yha shouted as she scolded her superior.

"Oh alright. Another reason why is because your history and experience with music is exquisite. Not only do you have a talented tongue…" She gave an evil smirk. Which made Mon feel a little intrigued, "But you also have a talented ear. Meaning you're a music producer. I read that you can spot and create music just by listening. And that sort of skill is very rare, not even most talent scouts can possess that kind of gift."

Mon just shrugged her shoulders, "I guess I'm just one of the lucky ones."

"Anyways, this entire company is basically the Content Creation Department, basically we create websites to open to anything that we can come up with."

"Okay I'm starting to understand, so where is the music department?"

Mon asked out of confidence until she felt that two of her companions weren't following her. She turned with a frown and saw that both ladies were put in a nervous situation. Yha stepped forward and made sure that she was clear.

"Mon-san…" Yha looked over to Noi as she was forcing her to tell the confused brunette. "You…are…the music Department."

The undercover heiress was stunned. No, not stunned. More like shocked. There was no one in this entire company with any musical talent or experience? As far as she could remember, there was not a hint of music anywhere. Not when she walked through the gates, or into the building or even when she made it upstairs for her introduction. There were no sounds of music.

"H-how is this even possible?"

"I know what you're thinking, but our boss lady is…" hmm, "Very…" Yha looked at Noi for some help.

"Let's just say that Boss Lady is…hard to read. Especially when her mood tends to change every so often. Our long-time employees haven't exactly been doing so well in recruiting music talents. So like our company name, we try to welcome all kinds of talent."

"Like what?"

"Well there is this room that handles virtual reality games. They create and monitor their creativity. And this room is for Future cosplay fashion designs. Which I am a part of. They make amazing cosplay outfits and it's awesome." Noi had been going off on each workstation on what kind of talents there were in the company but Mon had somehow blocked her out as she was deep in thought when she was introduced to the first two stations.

Hmm, VR makers, and fashion designers. I could work with this. Maybe create background music for the game's trailers. And comic con is in two months. The fashion design team can make the costumes for a specific game. If I could talk to both stations and combine their work ethics and knowledge together, it could probably solve some problems. But first, I need to know who and what I'm working with.

Mon came back from her train of thought when she felt someone poking her cheek.

Both Yha and Noi waited for Mon to calm down and finally showed her to her desk station. And when she got there she saw that it was bigger than your usual cubicle. It was her own station room. Not only was she given her own beat mixer, laptop and mic with the additional headphones, she was given a tall booth that looked like a miniature recording studio.

"What is this?" Mon was shocked. Never had she expected to have such equipment on her first day.

"This is your workstation. This entire area is yours to work with."

"That just reminds me. Why was this built so close? Lady Boss is right next door."

"I know that. I didn't realize until after it was built. It's too late to do anything about it."

Mon had been observing her new coworkers and had noticed a small frame with a beautiful black haired woman in it. "Erm, who's station is that?" Mon asked out of curiosity.

Noi was about to retort but Yha decided to jump in and explain.

"Ah, that's Chen. She ah, just recently passed away."

"Oh crap! I'm sorry."

"Yeah, Chen didn't deserve to die." Noi continued with her remorse as everyone gathered around to pay their respects. Until…

"Pika-boo!"

"Argh!" Everyone screamed.

"Chen! You jerk. What were you thinking!?" Noi shouted out of fright.

"Ow! Stop it, that hurts!"

"Oh I hope so. I hope you get all black and blue." Noi continued to hit her coworker over and over with her clipboard until she felt satisfied.

"Ouch! Stop hitting me. You're hurting me."

"You deserve it." Noi said with one last wack to her arms.

"I was joking. I meant no offense. I'm Chen. I work with the VR team."

"I'm Mon, no offense taken. I'm the new music producer. I think." Mon said. She could tell just by the playfulness of Chen's sense of humor, Mon knew that she was going to get along with her more.

"Well since you're so cute and stunning, why don't I give you the rest of the tour…"

"Chen! You used the office printer for your tricks again didn't you?"

Mon observed the woman in the distance that looked like she was going to blow up on Chen.

"She's Nuch. She's from the finance Department. Try not to do anything that would displease her or she'll deduct from your salary. Other than that we all like to respect each other around here."

"Wow, everyone seems very relaxed and comfortable working here. So the Boss lady must be nice and kind."

Yha looked at Mon as if she was kidding. Mon looked confused. They went back downstairs and headed over towards the Bosses office. And Mon noticed that it was right near her station.

"Do you know anything about our Lady Boss?"

"I can't say that I do."

"Okay. Well she is a well-known heiress." Noi said.

"If you thought she was kind then you couldn't be more wrong."

"Yeah. All that kind-hearted thing is all for show. Public image really."

"Seriously?" Both women nodded.

Ugh! Great another short tempered princess. Mon thought in annoyance.

Mon was about to retort until a cross dressing maid came running into the department like she was afraid of something.

"Everyone! She's here. Lady Boss is here!"

Mon was getting confused once again. All the employees had shuffled around in a panic to get to their respective desks as she stayed where she stood. Not a moment went by and Mon could feel the atmosphere in the room change. She thought it was because she might be under the air vent but it got even colder until finally a raven-haired woman wore a beautiful business suit that looked more like a suited skirt. And clanking of her three to four inch heels looked very expensive as well.

This must be the owner of the company. Well, I'll give her points for being beautiful, but for some reason she has this aura that reminds me of someone. Can't figure out who it is. Oh well, it'll come to me later.

Soon the Boss lady had noticed that Mon was standing in clear sight and walked in over to her. Mon was not surprised by the owner's aura of authority, she had seen it so many times, so this one should be no different. Meaning she stood tall with her hands in her pocket and remained un-intimidated.

"What time is it?" She asked softly. Mon frowned. The brunette's ears started to perk, the sound of her new boss's voice was phenomenal. Even the tone she used was like something she had never heard before. The Lady Boss turned towards her employees and repeated herself. "I asked what time it is!?"

"9:15!" Everyone responded.

She had smirked with satisfaction. "You all have 5 minutes to gather into the meeting room. I have an announcement." She walked away to get a head start, but not before turning around. "Never mind. I'll give you all 2 minutes. See you there."

After she had left, everyone gathered their things once more and headed towards the meeting room. Mon ran over to Yha for explanations.

"Why is everyone feeling restless?"

"Judging by her body language I would say a state of emergency." Noi stated.

"What's that supposed to mean?" Mon frowned.

"It's the way she smiled. We call it 'The Deadly Smile' whenever she does that, that means someone in the department will be terminated."

"Don't be surprised that it's you, Chen." Yha stated.

"Me!?"

"You were the one playing dead. And if it is you…you soon will be."

"Ugh! I honestly hope not. Oh crap we gotta get going."

All four left in a hurry. They made it to the meeting room and found their seats. Once again Mon is totally confused that everyone was freaking out over something that may turn out to be nothing. Suddenly the whole room went silent when the Lady Boss came waltzing to the center. Her aura of authority was so massive that Mon was sure that the people outside the building could feel it.

"All of you should know that I am managing this business as best I can, so that we all can stay here as a family."

Family? Seriously? Mon thought.

"I have one question, and I want only the truth…" she paused in suspense. "Family members aren't supposed to date, right?"

The whole room was surprised. Everyone looked up on each other just wondering who it could be.

I see. Co-worker relationships aren't allowed. If that's what this meeting is for, then someone must've gotten caught. Mon thought again, finally understanding the situation.

"Chen! It's you, isn't it!?"

"What? No!"

Mon kept her focus on the owner and wasn't sure what to make of her. Her strength, her character, her appearance, her sense of humor, her mannerisms. All five points of a pentagram lead into a curious mystery, and knowing all that just from one observation, Mon could only describe her as…an enigma.

Lady Boss, turned on a screen, and what was showing had made the entire room quiet and above all, speechless.

"Ahh, Mizuki!?" Noi shouted in shock.

Lady Boss gave a smirk and played the footage again.

"Oh! Noriko!"

This time Lady Boss wasn't smirking or showing any sort of emotion. Which made Mon frown a little.

Mizuki, a girl with brown hair with pigtails, was on the verge of breaking down. The tall, short maroon hair girl hurried over to her lover to comfort and protect her.

"But we love each other Lady Boss, we couldn't hold out our love and affection."

"If you wanna love so much, go somewhere else. The rule here is "No office romance allowed." She had stated with such coldness in her voice, that the room felt even colder than before.

"But…even though we're a couple, we haven't done anything wrong in our work." Mizuki explained.

"Both of you have been working here long enough. And should know how serious I am about this. There was only one rule and you both broke it." She stopped and took a breath, "You couldn't respect the rule, meaning you don't respect me or this company."

The room became even more grim.

"Clean out your stations, collect your things and leave. Both of you." She stepped forward and placed two white envelopes on the front table. "These are your last checks." She walked towards the doors to leave until she turned back around, still with that emotionless expression on her face. "And if anybody tries to break this rule. I will come after them." She finally left.

"So be it! You better hope the day you slip and start dating your employees never comes!" Noriko shouted and declared her ambition. "Why should we repress our emotions? Does she have any at all? Who knows! Sure's hell, not any of us." Noriko had enough and escorted herself and Mizuki out of the building.

"I'm so glad that's not me. Hey Sky, Sky." Noi snapped her fingers

"What?" Mon came back from her thoughts.

"Keep this in mind. If you wanna work here, you have to follow this rule unconditionally."

"And what rule is that?"

"That one that forbids romantic relationships with other employees." Yha had stated. "Noriko and Mizuki have been together for a few months."

"Holy crap, really?" Chen asked as she heard the last bit.

"Lady Boss must've found out recently and used those two for examples."

Mon had pondered again on the situation. She felt sympathetic towards the young couple. It's true, not all companies can or won't allow office romance between coworkers. It gets in the way and distracts from the work. Not to mention a little office rivalry could lead into a crime of passion, which is also not good.

Office romance. Even I know not to break that rule. No matter how many hearts I have to break. It will never happen.

On the rooftop of the building, Lady Boss was standing before a glass pane that was occupying the entire right wall of her office. Her pitch-dark orbs were looking down through the ceiling-to-floor glass to view the busy streets below. A distinct look was plastered on her features as she blankly stared in the distance. Her mind was anywhere but at the usual sight that was presented to her every day. A small frown had plastered her beautiful features as she thought about the unexpected meeting that had just happened not too long ago.

"So be it! You better hope the day you slip and start dating your employees never comes!"

"If anyone is found breaking this rule, I will come after you myself."

She knew she did the right thing. Her responsibility as a business owner is not as easy as everyone seems to think. And the hard part about it is trying to make hard decisions. Especially when you have to fire strong and hard working people who have been with the company for a while, for breaking the company rule. And if she had to play the bad guy to keep them in line, then that's exactly what she's going to do.

The day had finally ended and the office was starting to disburse. Angel sat at her desk drowning in her thoughts, she had taken advantage of her work place and tried to concentrate on what to do. The others were not exactly specific on what she should be doing since she was the only one in the music Department. Just when she was about to do a little writing a knock was heard just loud enough to bring her back to reality.

"Mon! Let's go home. Mon?"

"What are you talking about?"

"The day is over. Are you stunned by what happened earlier?"

Yha was being gracious and Noi and Chen came into the room.

"I know it's your first day. And sorry you had to see Lady Boss's ruthless act. But we also hope you come back tomorrow."

"Hey! Don't scare her off like that. Mon, the only reason why Lady Boss was like that is because the company hasn't reached its goal."

"But you came at such perfect timing. We tried to get someone who can manage the music Department even though we know we don't have the experience. Hopefully now that you're here, things can get better." Chen announced.

Mon unhooked her headphones from her neck and placed them on the desk. She leaned back in annoyance while rubbing her temples for an oncoming migraine.

"Honestly, I think this rule is stupid. I mean I get it, some companies won't allow such things in a working environment. But still, there was no need to terminate two employees who love each other but also put their time and energy into this company."

"Yeah well. It'll get better." Chen said.

"No it won't. I have to go and search for new employees. Man! This sucks. Anyways I almost forgot Mon, here's your staff ID."

"After everything that's happened. I hope you consider staying here. Well, let's all leave."

"Thank you very much. But I'll stick around a little longer to organize my things. I'll see you all tomorrow."

"Okay. Good night. Get home safe."

Yha, Chen and Noi all left. Until Noi burst back into the room.

"Mon!"

"What!?" Mon became frightened. Noi places her hands on Mon's shoulder to hold her in place.

"I don't wanna look for more employees. Please come back." She pleaded out of desperation.

"You got it. I'll be here." Mon nervously chuckled and gave her a thumbs up for confirmation.

Noi bowed in approval and finally left. Mon had to shake the wackiness out of her and compose herself. She closed down her station, collected her things and was about to leave until she saw that the maid of the building had dropped a few bags. It looked like she was on her way to the garage. So Mon went over to give her a helping hand.

"Please, let me help you." She suggested.

"It's been hours already. I didn't think no one would be here."

"I was just about to leave. But I can still help you if you need it."

"Oh thank you. In that case, can you please take this upstairs. You'll see a room with a stack of boxes. Just place it with the rest and you can go home."

"No problem."

"Oh and by the way, could you turn off the lights as well?"

"I can do that."

"Oh, oh. I forgot, I'm Aunty Mhee. Pleased to meet you."

"I'm Mon. Pleasure is mine."

Mon made her way upstairs and noticed the stack of boxes near an open view window. She placed it, looked around and was about to leave.

Until…

"You…"

Mon turned around but what she didn't know was that the person that spoke had been standing near the edge of the staircase. She was about to fall back when she lost her balance and footing, she had no time to grab the nearby railings to keep her from falling back. Her eyes had shut tight and waited for the horrific incoming drop that she knew would come.

But it didn't.

Mon with great reflexes acted quickly and grabbed the arm of her surprised guest and held onto the railing that would pull her weight back. Mon forces her hand to pull her falling companion towards her, twirling her around and wrapping her arm around the young woman and out of danger. She could feel the frightened woman shaking out of fear and panic. Her head was buried in the brunette's chest while her hands were gripping her shirt. The savior didn't want to frighten the woman more by touching her so she decided to use some soothing words.

"It's okay, you're alright now. You're safe." Mon calmly said.

Once she had verified the woman's safety, she was not prepared to face the one she tried to avoid.

Oh crap. It's Lady Boss. Mon thought.

When both of their eyes locked it was like time had just stopped. Everything around them had disappeared, nothing was said or being heard but only the sounds of their hearts. Unless she thought that's how it goes. Come to think of it, Mon wasn't sure why her heart was beating so fast, it could've been the adrenaline rush from the rescue, but those eyes were so deep, it was like nothing she couldn't describe.

"Are you alright?"

"I'm fine." Lady Boss had said and tried to fix her appearance while maintaining her composure. She was about to pull away until her bracelet had gotten tangled with Mon's necklace.

"Ow!" Mon shouted.

"Hey, my bracelet is stuck. What should I do?" She panic as she pulled.

"You can start by not pulling! Ouch!" Mon shouted once more.

The owner had gotten fed up and needed a solution. So she grabbed hold of Mon's collar and dragged her to her destination. Once there, Lady Boss pulled out a pair of scissors which Mon became wide eyed in shock.

"Whoa whoa! What are you doing?"

"This right here on my wrist cost 5 million dollars."

"So?"

"Between your necklace and my bracelet, which one do you think cost more?"

"The bracelet?"

"So which one should I cut?"

"Neither!"

"You're unbelievable, come here."

"Hey! You're not cutting my necklace!" Mon tried to release herself but apparently her boss was so adamant and preoccupied with those dangerous pair of scissors that she cared more about a silly bracelet than the safety of her employee.

"Just stay still, it'll be done in a moment."

"Okay stop!" Mon shouted out of anger which caught Lady Boss off guard. The brunette took the scissors out of her boss's hand and placed it on the table. "Don't move!" She said with a hint of authority in her voice which also caught Lady Boss's attention.

Mon had finally disentangled her chain from the bracelet.

"Oh, thank God. I hope there's not a scratch, this costs me a fortune."

Mon was surprised that her new boss had no clarity, no commute, no means of apology or thanks. It was like nothing mattered to her.

Oh she is really something else.

-0-

Mon finally arrived home, when she parked her bike in the garage, she hadn't noticed that a black Satan was parked on the side of the street. She never gave it a second thought or cared at the moment because she felt too tired and hungry to give a damn. Until she stepped into the house and took a whiff of a very delicious sensation aroma coming from her kitchen.

"Hey!"

Mon was already annoyed. The brunette felt like she was in a continuous nightmare, not only did she have to deal with a short-tempered enigmatic Boss, she had to come home to a nosy, high maintenance and also short-tempered, loving mother.

"Mom, what are you doing here? How did you get in?"

"I have a key! And I came to welcome you home and to know all about your first day." She said so cheerfully as she continued to cook a special feast.

"I'm not in school mom, you didn't have to come over."

"I know that, okay, but I've missed you today. It's not like at the company where I can come by and see how your work is going."

"Then maybe you shouldn't have dumped me to another company." She mumbled and buried her head in her arms on the table.

Naksu heard her daughter loud and clear. And it pains the older woman that her daughter was right. If she didn't agree with her sister in law about sending Mon to Diversity then she would have seen her all the time. Naksu made a plate for Mon and placed it upon the table, along with her favorite alcoholic beverage.

"Look my love," she sat down and Mon lifted her eyes to see her mother but not her head. "I know that everything was just placed on you. And I know that everything you expected to happen just changed in an instant. But this new company, it turns out that this company needs professional help. I know what Diversity is. I've looked into their websites and I was a little confused about what they were trying to sell but also intrigued."

"Mom, that place is like a mausoleum. A very grim mausoleum. When I first walked in there, it was dull. All I saw were white walls, old looking, probably fake artifacts, no sounds of music of any kind and an elevator that doesn't even work."

"Oh my!"

"Yeah. The only thing that was more captivating and more capable of getting my attention…was the water fountain outside of the courtyard. The employees are nice, they help each other a lot in everything they do. They're cheerful, hard working and willing to learn new things when opportunity strikes."

"So what's the problem? It seems like you're getting along so well."

"Oh there are many problems, mom. One, the Boss is a walking enigma. Two, she fired two of her employees today. Three, I'm the leader of the music Department. Four, I'm the only member in the music Department. And Five, I don't think this company is worth saving. Everyone knows how to do their job, but they don't know how to advertise the company."

Mon leaned back in her chair feeling exhausted to have explained her day to her mother. She took her drink and chugged half the can down in one gulp. Then she took the fork and took a bite of whatever food was placed in front of her. She moaned in delight. It was the most delicious meal she ever had.

I love home cooked meals. Mom's cooking the best. She thought as she continued her meal.

So both mother and daughter changed the subject and talked about random things, like how Mon would look as a model. Naksu couldn't resist the fact that she had imagined her daughter walking down a runway with a nice light blue evening gown with silver diamond studs along the hem line, a cut slip up the right thigh and matching three, four inch heels…

"Mother, stop it!

Naksu jumped and was brought back to reality. "What?"

"I am not going to be one of Shizu's supermodels. So, stop staring at me like I'm gonna strut down a runway."

"Mon-B, I still don't approve of your choice of clothes. You'd look more beautiful in those lovely dresses I sent you."

The elder raven hair woman voiced out her apparent disapproval. This was not the first time that they had this discussion. She cannot comprehend her daughter's choice of clothes that gave her the rebellious look. Her daughter was undoubtedly beautiful, anyone would agree, but her choice of clothes was shielding her beauty. Hiding those feminine curves and porcelain skin behind tight black jeans, loose white v-neck t-shirt and black zip up jacket matched with black boots.

"Mom, I'm a music producer, remember? I stay within a recording studio. There's no need for me to be swirling around in those frilly dresses that you sent me." Mon retorted, crossing her arms as she huffed, her slender legs crossed.

The elder raven hair woman considered her point for a while and decided to drop the first case and went on to the second one.

"Okay I see your point in the first case. But what about your choice of transportation?"

"What about it?" Mon asked, feeling clueless.

"Can't you not just use a car instead of driving that heinous death trap of yours? Not to mention you drive like a mad woman who is being chased by God knows what. It is dangerous, Mon. What if you get in an accident. Oh, God forbid!" The elder raven hair woman addressed the matter that kept her worried all the time.

"Mom, you're overreacting. And first off, I'm doing fine with my bike. I keep it on scheduled maintenance. Second, it helps me get away fast whenever I want to or whenever I'm forced to."

Mon justified her choice of vehicle, giving her mother a knowing look as she wiggled her slim eyebrows. Her motorcycle was one thing that she'll never give up no matter what. Because it was built by her own hands, crafted and designed by her alone.

"That's exactly one of my reasons. Don't even think for a second that I don't know what you do with those ladies, young lady. You shouldn't be playing around with their emotions. As your mother, I suggest you find yourself a fine young woman. Whatever you prefer, I don't mind. Just find someone. You know how the world we live in works. Even the brightest stars will eventually lose their shine and glimmer before dying out. The same goes for being a music producer."

Mon rubbed the side of her head before the incoming migraine could approach.

"Mom, for heaven's sake I just turned 22! It's too early for me to get tied to some shitty romantic relationship that I don't want to give a damn about. Don't get me wrong, Mama. I appreciate your words of wisdom and I know you're always gonna worry about me, but as of this very moment, let me enjoy my life. And get through this ridiculous arrangement that you, aunt Saeko and my traitorous cousin have put me on. And besides, it doesn't matter if I choose a partner or not, I don't get a say on who I marry anyway, right?"

They had this kind of conversation for the nth time that she already lost count. She didn't know why her mother kept bothering her about finding someone when she didn't see the need for one. Especially when she was going to get married off if she didn't succeed.

Both mother and daughter decided to call it a night. Mon walked her mother to her car with an extra plate of food that Mon made for her mother's driver for having him wait so long. He appreciated the gesture and accepted the offer.

"You know your aunt and I are just looking out for you, right?"

"I know mama. And I know Natsu also had her reason to agree to this…thing you all did. But the majority ruled and I knew I was overrun."

Naksu hugged her tight and stayed there for a moment longer until Mon pulled back to break the embrace. The elder stroked her daughter's face, giving it a light pinch and stepped into the back seat.

"At least try to do your best at the company Mon-B. You never know, this company might actually surprise you. In so many ways." She said,

Mon smiled and just nodded her head. The car had left as Mon stood on the sidewalk while waving her mother goodbye as she disappeared in the distance.

Surprise me huh. I seriously doubt it, mama. Doubt it.

In the center of Tokyo a very impatient heiress was on her way home, driving her yellow Corvette through the night until she glanced over to her phone that showed on the screen that she was receiving a call from her father. She resisted for a moment but also knew that she had to answer.

"Yes father?"

"Sam, are you finished with work?"

"Yes."

"That's good. Come on over. Your mother and I have some things to discuss with you."

"But I…"

"Come right away. Okay?"

"I understand."

She ended the call and became annoyed. All she wanted was to go straight home but now she had to stop by her family's estate that used to be her prison she once called home.

She pulled up to the driveway and stepped out from her car, she was greeted by one of the house maids and had escorted her to the main dining room. She took her seat and waited for her parents to arrive.

"Good evening my child."

A middle aged man with the aura of authority made him King of an Empire, but the tone in his voice made him sound like a genuine father.

"Hello pa…father."

"Hello my daughter."

A middle aged woman with beautiful flowing raven hair and eyes like the Pacific Ocean had greeted her daughter with a genuine and loving smile.

"Hello mother." She smiled at her lovingly.

"You haven't come to visit us lately."

"I've been busy with work."

"I heard from a reliable source, that it seems your company has so many issues. It has consumed so much of your time since the first day you've opened."

"Father, you gave me five years, I have one left."

"But why my child? I already told you. I will be retiring very soon, after I have, you can be the one to take over."

"But father, I want to do something on my own. To try to build my own empire."

Toiya Hon. A very successful business man that ran his own oil company. He has become one of the richest men in the country. Since his great, great, great, great grandfather had discovered oil on free lands back in Hokkaido the family became rich. Over time each member of the Hon family was able to build and place certain oil rigs all around the country. And whenever they would strike the company would build itself and the Hon family richer then they could get. Toiya Hon had built more oil rigs then he could count, he made another fortune when one of his rigs struck oil once again in the middle of Eastern Asia. He couldn't be more proud of himself.

And then he got married to a beautiful woman, he met her at one of his company party's and fell madly in love with her. And he found out that she felt the same way towards him. After a year or two they were pregnant, Toiya was blessed with a beautiful baby girl. Toiya couldn't be more proud to have a family of his own and finally call himself the richest man in the world.

Sam sighs softly. She knew that throughout the company she wasn't exactly skilled with socializing with clients, business partners and employees. Sam didn't know when or how she had become so anti-social but apparently that probably was the problem why she wasn't able to connect with the people that worked for her.

"Father, mother. This company is my ultimate dream. If I can make it successful, maybe this time you'll be proud of me."

Gasped.

Both parents had no idea where that came from. Sam looked down at her empty plate and looked upon her reflection. Without knowing, her mother and father had stood behind her on both sides. She flinched at their touch when she never noticed that they weren't on their end of the table anymore.

"Sammy, why would you say something like that? Of course we're proud of you." Her mother said with sincerity in her voice.

"Yes, my child. I've been proud of you in anything and everything that you do."

"Then why won't you believe me when I want to run my own company on my own?" Sam was on the verge of tears but she tried to hold herself from breaking in front of them.

"Because we feel like you need help with it. Not to mention that agreement we talked about before."

"I thought I mentioned it, I'm not interested in being married. My work will always keep me busy."

"That is true Sam. But it won't be able to keep you warm and protect you at night. At least try to consider the candidates of our choice. If you don't like it then you are free to choose for yourself. But…."

Damn. There's always a but…

"You will have three months to make your decision." Toiya said.

"What!? Three months? That's like saying I only have three hours to decide whether to go to a party or not!"

"Three months Sam. Which means you'll have time to figure out how to reach your company goal and find yourself a fiancee." He stated.

"We don't want to rush you sweetie but this time we may have to. I honestly hope you understand." Her mother said with reason.

Sam didn't know how to feel, but all she felt was numbness. Her company was going nowhere, her father was about to retire and she had to find a distinct fiance in three months.

Nothing and possibly anything could make me feel so horrible then I do now.
