Once she took a step inside, she was greeted by the smell of nature and fresh rain. The huge enclosure of endless valleys and skies was a similar habitat to what Frank's species lived in nature.

However, their dear Thunderbird had summoned a storm and let the water fall continuously while the blue sky was now covered by dark grey clouds.

The witch walked to stand next to Newt, not caring about the water soaking her clothes. She chuckled and even spread her hands faintly, enjoying the sound of freedom that came from Frank, who was gracefully flying above them.

The droplets eventually stopped and she opened her eyes, seeing Newt with his wand out. He had conjured a magical umbrella to keep them dry, mostly her and she gave him a thankful smile.

Upon seeing them, the mighty Thunderbird started to descend. Happy that they were present, the rain stopped and clouds started to disappear before the strong rays of sun lightened up the whole area.

The animal landed on a huge rock and Newt cancelled the spell.

"Thankfully, you haven't gone out like the others," Amina said as she took a step closer.

Frank lowered his head, showing that he wished to be petted by her and she gladly obliged. She ruffled the soft feathers, using her fingers to scratch him where he liked it.

"If you would have gotten out, that would have been catastrophic" Newt added as he extended a hand and gently rubbed the creature's neck. He then turned around to face Jacob. "You see, he is the real reason we came to America"

Amina chuckled at the shocked expression of the muggle, the poor man just looking at the beast with his mouth wide open. "He is marvellous, isn't he? Incredible beasts and so misunderstood. Newt and I saved him from a poacher in Egypt and we were planning to go to Arizona and release him, to be with his kind and safe" she explained as she stopped the pets.

She had turned her back fully at Frank to have Jacob in her field of view and the thunderbird did not truly like that. He moved his head, careful of the protrusion, and bumped her back gently. However, the bump had enough strength due to the size difference and she ended up slipping to the side.

Newt quickly spread her arms and caught her, resulting in a very close face proximity while she was laying almost fully in his arms.

She blinked and cleared her throat, feeling rather awkward to be held that way. Mostly because she was very close to him and she did have her temptations. In addition, they did have an audience and now it was not the best time for anything.

Newt seemed to understand, the tips of his ears turning a faint pink as he helped Amina to stand properly. "You alright?" he asked out of habit and quickly turned his head to avoid eye contact.

Amina felt the need to just gently place her hand on his cheek and guide him to look at her, but she knew she couldn't. He didn't like that and she would never force him to do anything. Instead, she gave him her usual smile.

"I am, don't worry," she said and then turned her head to look at Frank with her eyes slightly narrowed.

The mighty Thunderbird watched them but she was certain there was this sparkle of amusement in his beautiful beady eyes. All creatures were intelligent and some more than others.

She then spotted Frank getting a little uneasy and quickly turned to Jacob, who had taken a step forward. "Don't move. He is not very fond of strangers" she explained with a hand extended. The animal eyed Jacob and then turned to look at her. Amina grabbed some of the meat that Newt held and immediately she had Frank's full attention. "Off you go!" she said and tossed the food up.

Immediately, Frank took flight and grabbed the meat mid-air before moving higher and higher into the air. Amina could watch him for hours just flying, daydreaming of flying by his side with no care in the world.

She was snapped by her thoughts by a pull of her slightly wet hair. Looking at her left shoulder, she saw Mo standing there and having a good grip on one of her locks. "Oh, sorry about that Mo, I didn't mean to leave you behind" she explained and extended her hand to gently rub her under her chin.

"What...what is that?" she heard Jacob exclaim and had a finger pointed out.

"This is Mo, she is a Doxy. Usually, their species have fangs and are venomous but a poacher got hers removed to sell her as a pet. I saved her from that fate and she had joined me in my travels ever since" she explained and extended her palm so Mo could climb on it.

She then climbed off the rock and towards Jacob, her hand slightly extended. She came to a halt at a good distance and let the muggle slowly approach her, eyes always at the Doxy.

The said beast looked up at him with those beautiful blue eyes, looking all innocent. It even tilted its head to the side for a moment, not having much contact with muggles before or people in general.

"Extend your hand, do not be afraid. She is quite good once she trusts someone" she instructed, getting all excited to socialize with Mo and also test Jacob.

Mo was an excellent judge of character and she would react differently around everyone, depending on how she sensed them. Those she found worthy of trust like Augustus and Newt, she allowed them to hold her and not once had she fallen out yet.

She was also a great warning sign for suspicious activity, more than once had she escaped with Newt thanks to Mo behaving strangely around certain individuals.

Jacob extended his open palm with hesitation, his hand ever so faintly shaking but in his eyes, Amina could see a lot. She could see genuine curiosity and only basic little fear. There was no irrational fear that would cause someone to harm the creatures.

And based on what she had seen before about him, he looked like a decent fellow. For a muggle, he was more open-minded and enjoyable company than the majority of witches and wizards they had encountered.

It took a moment for Mo to sniff Jacob's fingers, most likely catching faint traces of dough from the last time he cooked. Then, she shook her body faintly and did a jump; landing directly on his palm and looking up at him like a puppy.

Immediately, the muggle open his mouth but made no sound; the first sign of genuine surprise. His lips then formed a smile and even a small giggle of excitement and disbelief, to hold something so strange and magical in his arm.

The small moment was interrupted as they heard Newt mimicking the call of a Graphorn. Immediately, she whistled and Mo flew to her shoulder before she grabbed Jacob's wrist. "Come on," she said like a little kid and gently tugged him along.

Quickly, the environment around them started to shift. The desert and planes got replaced by mosses and a humid environment, huge green trees and rocks. Mud was under their feet and different creatures could be spotted faintly.

Amina led Jacob towards Newt, coming to the edge of the forest as the three of them were facing an endless plain desert.

"Here they come," Newt said once they joined him.

"Here who comes?" Jacob asked, looking at the two of them as he stood in between.

The witch smiled. "The Graphorns," she said and motioned for him to observe across the horizon.

The sound of heavy steps at a fast pace reached their ears before a huge animal approached them. It was a large and hump-backed creature, with greyish-purple skin and two golden horns on its head. It walked on large four-thumbed feet and its mouth was made of tentacle-like appendages.

Jacob got scared and tried to run but Amina grabbed his upper arm and held him there. "Don't worry, you are safe" she told him, her eyes not once leaving Newt.

She watched with an almost love-struck gaze as he lifted his hand to pet the creature that was taller than him. The Graphorn returned the affection by using its mouth tentacles and wrapping them gently around his neck and shoulders as if hugging him.

"Hello, hello," he said with a smile. "So, they are the last breeding pair in existence. If we hadn't managed to rescue them, that would be the end of their species" he explained just as the baby appeared.

Amina welcomed the animal by spreading her hand, allowing it to come and rub beneath it. She then took a step back and let the baby Graphorn do the same to Jacob, allowing the muggle to pet the cute creature.

"This is what Newt and I mostly do. We research but also save them, from poachers that want to sell them or those greedy enough that want to use them for potions" she explained with a sad look. "Unfortunately, not many seem to share our point of view. They think those animals are pests or dangerous, not wanting to learn more about them"

"So, you two rescue those creatures?" Jacob asked as Newt threw a piece of meat for the baby to chase, just as the male appeared to watch them from the top of a rock.

"Yes. Rescue, Nurture and protect them. As Amina said, I am generally trying to educate my fellow witches and wizards about them" Newt explained.

"And how is that going so far?" The muggle asked with a smile, still filled with fascination from everything he had seen so far.

The two friends exchanged a look, their faces grim. Deciding not to answer, Newt took the initiative to leave the bucket by a pair of stairs and make his way to the next enclosure. Amina motioned with her head and followed right after, Jacob hot on their trails.

At first, one would think they had entered some empty huge tree trunk but their surroundings quickly changed and expanded. They were still in the tree trunk only that the space was much bigger and all around them were little plants and tiny specs of life, before they ended up being surrounded by growing bamboo trees.

"Titus? Finn? Poppy, Marlow, Tom?" Newt started to call out as the other two followed him.

Jacob caught up with Amina. "Uhm, who is he calling now?" he asked since Newt was a little late with explanations and the foreign witch did not seem to mind going into details about those creatures.

"The other Bowtruckles" she explained, amused by his confused expression. "You will see" she added as they made their way deeper into the enclosure.

Eventually, they reached a beautiful tree and on it, dozens of bowtruckles could be seen. The three humans could not help but smile at the cute and live sight.

Newt had already taken Pick into his arm and was trying to make him reconnect with the rest of his species. It was something that he tried almost daily and very hard but Pickett kept refusing and insisted on staying with them.

He had even asked Amina to talk to him but the little creature was quite stubborn and didn't want to truly listen to her, despite her abilities. Of course, she could force him but none wanted that; especially her.

She had made a vow to never use her abilities that way and her gift was only a way to help her understand those amazing creatures better, never to force her will upon them.

"He has some attachment issues" Newt explained to Jacob once Pick kept clinging to his arm. "Now, come on Pickett" he continued but with no luck. His eyes landed on Amina but before he could voice his thoughts, she beat him to it.

"You know that it won't work that way, Newt. If there is anyone, who can make him listen to you and you know it" she reminded him, making him glance at his feet for a moment.

"I know it" he repeated and then tried again, bringing his hand even closer to the tree. "Come on, Pickett. They are not going to bully you, come on" In the end, Pick ended up hanging from his fingers but refusing to be anywhere near that tree. Newt looked at him with a small smile of defeat. "Alright, but that is exactly why they accuse me of favouritism"

Amina chuckled since she was the one that had picked up that little gossip and told him. Pickett blew some raspberries at her and she showed him her tongue, like two little kids arguing. Even Mo had chosen to join, doing the same although her tongue was way bigger but that little silly face she had made up for everything.

"Now, now, Pick. Play nice with Amina" Newt scolded the little creature but it was clear from the way his face shone that he also enjoyed that.

For that was their everyday lives and what they lived for, caring for creatures, bonding and saving them in the process; having amazing adventures, building bonds and passing through all kinds of interactions whether good or bad.

In their little suitcase, the two of them could be themselves with no judgement about what they liked or what they thought. They had a common goal and the beasts they hosted were far kinder to them than the magical community had ever been. Newt and Amina were prayers and they knew it, but they didn't mind it as long as they had one another and their little family made up of magical creatures.

Newt then noticed the empty Demiguise nest and placed both his hands on his waist, Pick having already gotten comfortable on his shoulder. "I wonder where Dougal has gone" he muttered and Amina heard him.

She turned her body to stand next to him. "We will find him, worry not," she said with a smile, her fingers barely brushing him ever so gently.

He turned his head to look at her, her smile offering some comfort and encouragement, which he always appreciated. The small moment was interrupted by the sound of the Occamy babies crying and asking for attention.

Immediately, they rushed to the little nest where the four babies had hatched. "Mommy is coming/Daddy is coming" they voiced at the same time as they rushed towards them, taken over by the same instinct to protect the babies.

Amina quickly took some food to feed them, since they were hungry while Newt picked up one of the babies but it was not a random selection. Holding the winged beaked snaked creature in his palms, he turned to Jacob slowly.

"Your occamy," he said.

Immediately, the muggle was confused. "What do you mean? My Occamy?"

Amina chuckled in amusement. "It is the baby from the egg you held in the Bank. That's what he means" she explained, her attention on the babies as she was careful to feed them without losing a finger.

"Do you want to hold him?" Newt asked and while hesitant, Jacob agreed.

The witch could not see his face at that moment, but she was certain that he was smiling. They were adorable in their baby form, before becoming majestic and powerful as adults.

The sound of a pained yelp made her glance at Jacob above her shoulder. "Better not pet them. They learn to defend themselves from a young age and can't truly recognise what is a friendly touch and what is not"

Newt nodded. "You see, their shells are made of silver so they are incredibly valuable. Their nests often get attacked by hunters"

Jacob returned the baby to him and allowed the British wizard to settle the baby with its siblings before Amina fed him something as well.

"Mr Scamander, Ms Fadel," Jacob said, rather shyly.

"Please, call me Newt"

"And call me, Amina. There is no need for formalities right now"

Newt, Amina...I do not think that I am dreaming" he explained as he turned his back at them, looking around with the same amazement he had from the moment he stepped into the suitcase.

"What gave it away?" Newt asked.

"I do not have the brains to make this up" he admitted and the two friends exchanged a look after hearing this.

"Actually, would you mind throwing some of those pellets in with the Mooncalves over there? Amina can show you" the British magizoologist said, his companion immediately picking up his plan with a smile.

"Come on, Jacob. This way" she said and handed him a basket with a pellet before heading towards one direction while Newt went to the other, to do another job.
