Ten years ago, in the wake of the Infinite Stratos being revealed to the world by its creator Tabane Shinonono, there was an assassin in Japan nicknamed Hitokiri Kingslayer, or in the West he was called Japan's Lion. Amidst the bloodshed, this young adolescent boy killed and carved the way through the Heisei era of the Infinite Stratos.

He was deemed the strongest despite not being an IS pilot. But his strength knew no bounds for even he would be strong enough against any IS pilot with just a simple katana in his hands. All who have tried to take him down have failed.

Kingslayer. A named feared by all, even the greatest of military leaders or the most powerful of politicians.

However… he disappeared into thin air as the chaos came to a close. His whereabouts are still unknown even by those he worked for.

Hitokiri Kingslayer. A man of legend. A heartless killer and shrewd assassin. For ten years, he remained quiet. Now, those same ten years later, he emerges once again.

For no lion ever sleeps tonight.

The IS Academy. Some would call this a paradise; others would call this a living hell. And some practically don't have a care in the world. It is a school of knowledge and sport, but also a highly and dangerous place, likely targeted by terrorists and other criminal scum lurking in the shadows. Initially, this was filled with girls only as they were the only ones to pilot the Infinite Stratos, or IS for short. But today, that all changed with two new arrivals with one significant difference: they were both male.

Outside a classroom stood a young 18-year old boy with his arms crossed and leaning on a wall opposite of the room with his head down. He wore a standard issue IS Academy uniform just like the other male pilot that was already in the classroom but came with a gray trench coat for him to wear and black gloves. The boy had long silver hair that stretched down to his shoulders. He wore a blindfold as he could not see but then again, there are other ways to see than with just two eyes. Strangely enough, he also carried with him a katana attached to his left hip. Now carrying swords around is considered illegal unless used for dojo practice yet concealed and wrapped up. But here at the Academy, the administration seem to overlook that.

But meanwhile, what was happening inside was a different story for another boy.

"This is way… way harder than I expected," Ichika Orimura was trying to ignore all the stares at him, the stares of every single female in the classroom. He was sitting in the front row, dead center with one empty seat behind him.

He looked around at his fellow classmates, most of whom stared back at him which, frankly were all the girls. Except for one with long dark hair tied in a ponytail with a green sash and bearing a scowl on her face.

An older adult with short green hair, glasses, and wearing a rather revealing yellow dress instead of the standard IS uniform soon enters the room, showing she was a member of the staff. Not to mention the rack she carried on her chest made them bounce a bit.

"Seems like everyone is here, so let's begin homeroom," She said as she took her place behind the teacher's desk. "Congratulations on making it into this school. My name is Maya Yamada and I'll be your sub homeroom teacher this year."

Even after making her introduction, everyone was silent as Yamada-sensei talked. After a short and awkward silence, she spoke again.

"S-Starting today, you'll all be students at the IS Academy. At this boarding school, you will all be spending a lot of time with each other, so please get along and help each other."

Once more she seemed flustered at the fact that the students were not looking at her.

"W-Well then… let's move on to introductions. We'll go in numerical order to learn about one another."

One by one, students introduced themselves and gave a short summary of their likes and dislikes.

Ichika however was distracted of the fact that he was practically ignored by his childhood friend named Houki. 'We haven't seen each other for six years and that's how you act towards your childhood friend, Houki?'

"Orimura-kun?" Yamada-sensei called out.

But Ichika did not hear it, too distracted in his own thoughts. 'Did I do something? Does she hate me?'

"Orimura-kun…"

'Wait, does she even remember me? It has been a long time. That could explain it.'

"Ichika Orimura!" Yamada-sensei called out, getting the blue haired boy's attention. "Forgive me for raising my voice. We're doing self-introductions and, umm it's now your turn. Could you introduce yourself, pretty please?"

Ichika looked towards Houki who once again ignored him by looking out a window. So without any other option, he stands up and faces the class, albeit nervously.

"My name is Ichika Orimura."

Everyone in the class was staring at him, expecting more.

But sadly, that would not come to be.

"T-That's all."

Everyone fell over in comedic fashion on the floor and their desks.

"Huh? Was that bad?" asked a confused Ichika.

*BAM*

Ichika got an answer to that question in the form of a fist landing on his head. He grabbed his head that now had a lump on it, but when he looked to see who hit him, he was stunned to see a familiar beautiful adult woman with long black hair that is split into parts in a similar manner to Ichika´s hair, brown eyes and she is shown to be tall, but shorter than Ichika. She normally keeps her hair tied down in waist-long low ponytail. She was wearing a formal white shirt, with a black business overcoat and matching skirt, green tie, stockings and Mary Jane heeled shoes.

"Chifuyu-nee!?"

*BAM*

Another direct hit landed on Ichika's head.

"You will refer to me as Orimura-sensei while at school," She ordered.

"Oh, Orimura-sensei. Has the meeting ended already?" asked Yamada-sensei.

"Yes, Yamada, Sorry to make you welcome my class for me," Chifuyu apologized before writing her name on the board and turning to the class like she were a drill instructor.

"Alright, class, I'm your homeroom teacher, Chifuyu Orimura. It's my job to make sure you rookies can pilot the IS once the year is over. I'll be the one who's training you youngsters and I don't care if you like me or not. Do you understand? It's my job to train you all well enough so you can stand on your own in a year's time."

Chifuyu Orimura. A name so well respected and feared all over the world. And rightfully so for she was one of the first IS pilots and the first to be rewarded with the title of Brunhilde, a world renown champion of the Mondo Grosso tournament held every three years like the World Cup. Now she was a teacher at the IS Academy.

And about every girl in the class who knew of her, except for Houki, squealed in excitement learning that the legendary Chifuyu Orimura would be their homeroom teacher.

"CHIFUYU-SAMA! IT'S THE REAL CHIFUYU-SAMA!"

"WE'RE BEING TAUGHT BY THE ACTUAL CHIFUYU ORIMURA!"

"I'M SO HAPPY TO KNOW SHE'LL BE TEAHCING ME THIS YEAR!"

"SHE INSPIRED ME TO COME TO THIS SCHOOL!"

"I WOULD DIE FOR YOU, ORIMURA-SENSEI!"

Chifuyu sighed loudly as she pinched the bridge of her nose in exasperation. "Why do I get all the nutjobs? I swear they put them in my class on purpose."

Chifuyu was able to quickly quiet the class down, with a simple threat of running laps around the school. With order restored, she had one announcement to make.

"We have another new student joining with us today. You will treat him with uttermost respect and care. Failure to do so will gain my attention and you will be punished accordingly. Understand?"

The word 'him' caught everyone's attention yet many were confused because they thought that Ichika Orimura, the other male pilot present in their classroom, was what their teacher, Chifuyu Orimura, was speaking about.

"Enter," she ordered to the person outside the classroom. As the door was opened, the person stepped in the classroom. Everyone's eyes, ears, and expressions were caught unto the person and many of them had their jaws dropped and their eyes popped out. Even Ichika and Maya Yamada, the assistant homeroom teacher, were shocked at this appearance.

As the boy made his way to the center, he turned to face the class. Behind him, his name was shown on the holographic board. Then the boy spoke to them in a rather somewhat cheerful voice, bearing a small smile.

"My name is Raiden Hataru. If anyone is wondering, yes. I am permanently blind, that I am. And I am a male, that I am."

A silent void filled the room and ten seconds later, a loud yell came from everyone's mouths.

"WHAT?!"

Questions were being raised by students among themselves loudly. Questions that were more about who Raiden was and why he was blind. Chifuyu, noticing this, yelled in a loud voice to quiet everyone down.

"ENOUGH!"

That command got everyone to turn their attention to her and keep their mouths closed for the time being.

"Hataru, take your seat behind Orimura," ordered Chifuyu in a calm voice.

Raiden did as command yet as he walked past by and sat down behind him, Ichika got some shivers down his spine. In his mind, questions were raised about this new pilot. But he held out some optimism, hoping to get to know Raiden and be a friend to him.

Class lessons ended as everyone took a break. Ichika was just asked by a girl with a long ponytail held by a green sash out on the roof and left with her. Before she did, she took one glance at Raiden who was in a lax position, almost as if he was thinking. After a quick glance, she took off with Ichika.

Raiden wandered and waited outside the classroom for class to start again. Not many of the girls approached him as they were still trying to process that the Academy now has two male students instead of one. With his head down and leaning towards the back of the wall, Raiden waited.

Soon enough, his homeroom teacher approached next to him.

"Raiden," greeted Chifuyu professionally.

"Orimura-sensei," Raiden greeted back warmly.

There was only the silent treatment being given off for a moment. This was somewhat an awkward situation given that the two recognize one another, yet don't seem to be all dramatic about this reunion. Then again, neither of them were of the dramatic type.

"It's been ten years since I last saw you," Chifuyu said. "You practically went off the grid."

"Not my choice nor intention, that they weren't," Raiden said. "And I heard that you have been busy, that you were."

"Like you said, not my choice nor intention," Chifuyu said in response. "But still, when I read your file… I didn't think they were true. But what have you decided to do now that you're here?"

Raiden simply says, "I've become a rurouni, Chifuyu-dono. A wanderer if you will. And in the time I've wandered, I've been trying to help those without taking another life in the process. But now, it seems like my wandering is put on hold for the moment."

"You don't really think I'm just going to let you wander off again, are you?" Chifuyu smirks.

"No. But I do still wish to help those in need. I cannot bear to leave those suffering in front of me, that I cannot."

"But can you still uphold that after having killed so many?" asked Chifuyu.

"You know what they say. A sword is a weapon. Swordsmanship—"

"Is learning how to kill," Chifuyu interrupted, surprising Raiden. "No matter what ideals you use to cover it up, that is the truth of the world."

Raiden looks at his teacher, yet he smiles as does Chifuyu. It appears both of them understand where the other is coming from. They just hope things won't get even more uglier from here on out, for all the things they have been through on separate occasions.

The sound of the school bell ringing was heard for everyone to hear, signifying that break was over.

"We'll talk of this later. For now, return to your seat."

Raiden nods his head as he enters the room before Chifuyu and takes his seat behind Ichika's desk. Class was then back in session.

LATER

To Raiden and everyone else, learning about the Infinite Stratos was simple and easy. With Yamada-sensei teaching and Chifuyu standing off to the side observing the class. The lesson today was on certification for the Infinite Stratos.

"Currently, you need a certification from the state to be able to use the IS. It's a criminal offense to use the IS outside of what has been written in the certification. Does anyone have any questions?" Yamada-sensei paused from her lesson to ensure her students were keeping up.

Everyone had seem to be following along. Unfortunately, there was one among the class who never understood anything about it.

"Do you have a question, Hataru?" Yamada-sensei asked Raiden first.

Raiden shakes his head. "No questions, that I do not have."

"What about you, Orimura?" Yamada-sensei asked the nervous student in the front row who was looking panicked. She leaned in further, unknowingly giving the boy a front view of her cleavage. "If so, don't be shy. I am your teacher after all."

Ichika flipped through the giant book on his desk. He wasn't understanding any of this. It was a lot of information being taught on day one, especially for a newcomer, to understand. He wondered if Raiden understood any of it as well.

"Well… the thing is… I don't understand any of this!" Ichika admitted his problem out loud. And oddly enough, that was no surprise.

"Not any of it?" asked a surprise Yamada-sensei.

Chifuyu at this point stepped in to address the issue. "Orimura. Did you read the reference material you were assigned?"

"Are you talking about that big book?" He seemed to recall when he was admitted to the Academy.

"That's right," Chifuyu nodded. "It even said 'Required Reading' on the front cover."

"I kind of… accidentally threw it away."

Bad answer.

*BAM*

Chifuyu smacked Ichika upside on the head with her attendance book. "You should know better than to leave important things lying about."

She then turned her attention to the class and asked, "Show of hands, who here has read the required reading material?"

Every female student raised their hand. Even Raiden himself raised his hand. Truth be told he had the audiobook version of it, specifically designed for him since he lost his sight.

Chifuyu, maintaining her role as teacher, then looked at Raiden. "Hataru, you went through the audiobook sent to you?"

"Yes, that I did," Raiden said. "And if I may, Orimura-sensei, you may want to give Ichika a break considering he is brand new and in a difficult situation right now."

*BAM*

"Oro?!" Raiden cried comically with a lump on his head and makes him fall on top of his desk, with swirls in his eyes. Odd word for him to say.

"You shut your mouth, Hataru," Chifuyu sternly said. "You don't speak for him."

She then looked back to Orimura and said, "Orimura, I'll get you a new manual. I expect you to have read through the manual by the end of the week. Cover to cover. And if you cannot do that, then you'll get the audiobook version and listen to all of it until it ends just like your classmate Hataru."

"That big book in one week?!" Ichika panicked. "Come on, Chifuyu-nee!"

*BAM*

"It's Orimura-sensei, you brat!"

As Ichika holds his head in pain, Yamada-sensei decides to continue the lesson. "Well then, let's continue with class. Everyone turn to page 11."

The dazed Raiden, still feeling the effects of Chifuyu's punch, only said, "Ororo…"

When classes ended for another break Ichika and Raiden were at their desks. Ichika was monologuing to himself while Raiden was reminiscing with his back laid back and arms crossed over himself. Just then, another student approached the two, a British blonde student whose appearance was not to be judged falsely.

"Excuse me, may I speak to you two?" asked the girl.

"Hmm?" Raiden looked up.

"Huh? Did you need something?" asked Ichika as he got distracted. Then the girl immediately felt insulted and yelled.

"What?! What kind of response is that? You should be honored that I am speaking to you two, so you should respond in appropriate manners."

"But… we don't know who you are, that we do not," Raiden pointed out.

That only made Cecilia become more irked. "You do not know me?! I am Cecilia Alcott, a high-class noble from Great Britain! Furthermore, what makes you two Japanese commoners believe you can address me as though I'm some feeble peasant? I am not only noble, but a representative candidate for England! I-"

"Hold on, I have a question," Ichika said.

Cecilia folds her arms. "Well as an elite, it is my responsibility to answer the questions of peasants such as yourself. Very well, ask away."

But the next thing she heard made her and everyone else shocked.

"What is a representative candidate?" asked Ichika after Cecilia told them of her status. Everyone in the girl did an anime fall comically, even knocking down a desk.

"Ichika…" Raiden said from behind. "A representative candidate is an IS pilot who is chosen to represent their country. They are considered special due to the role they could potentially play in the future if they pass qualifications."

"Now that you mentioned it, that does ring a bell," Ichika said.

Cecilia, after getting up from her fall, then said, "T-That's right. It's a miracle that you have the good fortune to share a homeroom with a representative cadet such as myself. Feel free to grovel at my feet if you wish. So, was I able to pierce through those thick skulls of yours?"

Raiden, keeping his cool, said, "That you have."

But Cecilia wasn't too happy with the response. "Are you trying to belittle me?"

"No, I am not."

"But never mind that. What I want to know is how you two even were accepted into the Academy in the first place? I'm amazed you were allowed into this school when you know nothing! I heard you're able to pilot an IS, but so far you've both been disappointments. But since I'm exceptional, I'll be nice to people such as you. After all, I'm the elite amongst elites for being the only one to defeat the drill instructor during the exam."

"Uh...I defeated one too," Ichika said, whose statement shocked Cecilia. "To be exact, she charged at me, so I got out of the way, and she slammed into a wall and didn't move."

"What? But…that's impossible. They said I was the only one!"

'Perhaps the only one of the girls, that you were,' thought Raiden.

"I really wouldn't call it much of a feat," Ichika said as he recalled the entrance exam instructor. "The instructor charged at me, and I dodged. She kept going towards the wall and crashed."

Cecilia's rage appeared to settle as she mentally calms herself, regaining her composure. "I see, it was nothing more than a fluke that you won. It's the only logical explanation."

The class bell rang, and Cecilia returned to her seat, promising to finish their conversation another time. Sessions were to begin once more.

Ichika was making his way to the freshman dorms. As the IS Academy was a boarding school, dorms were separated based on school year from 1st years to 2nd years and to 3rd years. Raiden could not accompany him as he was called by Chifuyu to discuss something privately, which led the blue-haired boy to look alone.

By the time he arrived, Ichika stood outside the room he was assigned to according to his keycard: Room 1025. Once he enters he finds it to be empty, but the room looked to be well stocked, complete with fine wooden desks set up with a computer, high quality carpet flooring, and two beds set up with pearl white blankets.

"Is someone out there?" asked a voice that came from a closed door, which led to the bathroom and shower.

It then dawned on him that there were two beds, desks, and computers; meaning that he would have a roommate. While normally it would be reasonable for him to be roomed with Raiden, the voice he heard was not his but rather that of another female. He tries to look for a place to hide but the room had little space to conceal himself. Not even under the bed or the desk or the balcony.

"Sorry to meet you like this;" The female voice said as she emerged from the shower with a pink towel wrapped around her wet body. "I was using the shower before you came so excuse my appearance. I look forward to having your company for the year. My name is Houki Shinonono. It's nice to meet—"

But as soon as Houki laid her eyes on her childhood friend, shock and awe quickly took over. "I-I-Ichika!"

"H-hello," He sheepishly answered.

Immediately, Houki hugged her towel around herself to hide her skin despite covering herself. "W-What are you doing in my room? Stop looking!"

Ichika immediately turned around. "Well… this happens to be my room too." The Orimura boy gulped as he realized what this meant. "Wait. That means you and I are sharing the same room!"

"You! You made this happen, didn't you?!" Houki dashed to her bag before pulling out her bokken and arming herself, holding it out and preparing to strike at her childhood friend.

"WAIT WAIT WAIT!"

And so began Houki's divine punishment, trying to cut down her childhood friend whom she was now roommates with. Hearing the noises though made all the girls pop out of their rooms to see the commotion.

Ichika was on the floor scared for his life while Houki was inside the room. And already there were holes being cut through the door by the bokken, missing Ichika barely.

"Houki, I'm sorry," Ichika cried. "Please let me in! I'm really sorry about what happened!" Ichika got in a dogeza position on his knees. "Please have mercy and let me in."

"Oro?" said a familiar blind boy who pops in. "Ichika, you okay there?"

Ichika pops up to see Raiden next to him. "Oh, Raiden. Thank goodness—

*POW*

All of a sudden, another thrust from the bokken, but this time it made contact with not just the door but also a person right on the temple of his head.

"Oro?!" cried Raiden as he gets knocked out in surprise and shock.

When Houki, now dressed in her nightwear consisting of a yukata, opens the now destroyed door, she recognizes what it was she just hit to her surprise.

"Ah…" Was the only word she said upon seeing Raiden's body, still emitting his "Oro".

With Raiden awake and tended to, he was given a small patch job on his head. He sat on the bed recovering while Houki stared down at Ichika, her new roommate.

"Raiden, are you alright?" asked a concerned Ichika to his blind friend. "You were knocked out pretty badly."

"I'm fine, that I am," Raiden smiled. "Truth be told I didn't see it coming. That hirazuki from Houki-dono's bokken was quite masterful, I have to say. Good form, Houki-dono."

Houki's strict demeanor broke, earning her a slight blush from the comment as she turns her head away a bit. "Oh, thank you. I think. S-Shouldn't you leave and go find your dorm room now?"

"It can wait," Raiden said. "After all, you did apply the bandage on me and I wanted to thank you personally for it, that I do. Besides, my room of 1030 is down the hall anyway."

Houki was surprised. Raiden was surprisingly humble and calm. Yet still she wondered if he really was blind. Everything about this boy, along with the fact that he carried a katana with him, was a mystery.

Clearing her throat, she regains her strict mode and turns her attention to Ichika. "So, you're going to be my roommate."

"Looks like it," Ichika said.

"What are your motives?" Houki then demanded.. "You do know that a man and a woman can't share a bedroom!" Her face then turns red, bashful of her next thought. "D-Don't tell me… you asked for this, didn't you? That you want to be with me…"

Ichika shook his head. "That's stupid."

Wrong answer. Houki's bokken soon comes down onto Ichika's head, but luckily he caught it in time.

"T-that's dangerous!" He shouted.

"Stupid… huh," Houki said. "I see…"

Some girls peeked through the destroyed door, with one of them wearing what looked like a fox outfit.

"Oh my. Shinonono-san's being bold with two guys in her room."

"You shouldn't be so sneaky like that."

"Orimura-kun being dominated has a nice ring to it. Oh, and there's Hataru-kun by the bed watching."

Raiden could only say his trademark, "Oro?"

Realizing the situation both Houki and Ichika were in, Houki withdraws her bokken, which allows the trio of girls outside to leave.

"Oh… it's all over."

"And it was getting to the good part."

Once the girls leave, Houki turns her attention back to her childhood friend. "Ichika. I think I get what's going on. So, we should establish some rules in this room. F-First, our shower times. Mine will be from 7 to 8. Yours will be from 8 to 9."

"Huh? But wouldn't it be better if I go first?" asked Ichika.

"A-Are you saying that I have to wait after my club activities?" asked a startled Houki.

"Wait, I thought that there's a shower room in the building where your club is?"

"I don't feel safe if I don't do it in my own room!"

Raiden soon shifts in the bed, until his left hand caught onto something. He pulls it up and feels that it was a bra. Pink in color.

"Oro?" asked Raiden.

There was only one girl in the room who would have a bra. And that girl immediately turns to see Raiden holding it before her face turns red and tears of embarrassment start to show.

"G-Give that back!" cried Houki as she lunges towards Raiden.

"Oro?! Wait, Houki-dono!" cried Raiden but then it was too late as Houki now laid on top of him. And her breasts were smashed in front of the blind man's face.

Houki immediately gets off and turns around in embarrassment but not before snatching her bra away.

"S-Sorry!" She cried.

"D-Don't mention it, that you should not," Raiden said upon getting up. "It was an accident, that it was."

"Yeah, don't think much of it," Ichika said. "After all, I always see Chifuyu-nee's underwear. Not to mention, it's just clothing."

That made Houki realize that in regard to Chifuyu, her body doesn't have an ounce of fat on it and it is very stylish. On the other hand, only Houki's breasts were bigger than hers, which uncomfortably made her look fat in comparison.

But upon hearing that, she once again gets angry and red in the face.

"Um, Houki-dono?" asked Raiden.

"So, you're both saying my underwear is nothing much, huh!?" She yelled as she brings out her bokken. And another divine punishment broke out.

Lecture went along as usual, and lunch was around the corner. Before everyone was permitted to leave, Chifuyu made an announcement.

"Before you depart, you are to choose a representative for our class. A class representative not only competes in tournaments but also attends student council meetings and committee meetings. Think of it as your class leader. Now who will you pick?"

Immediately, the girls began to call out one by one.

"I vote for Orimura-kun."

"I vote for Hataru-sama."

Ichika seemed stunned at this, but Raiden was a bit flabbergasted. He only made one response to this with wide white eyes.

"Oro?"

"W-wait a minute here. I don't want to do this," Ichika cried.

"Those who are nominated by others can't decide," Chifuyu said as Ichika's and Raiden's names were put on the board. "Does anyone have any objections to this? If not, we'll begin the vote immediately."

Ichika was panicking, trying to comprehend how he got to this point, while Raiden seemed reluctant to accept the outcome.

Then suddenly, a pair of hands slammed the desk she sat at. Unsurprisingly to Raiden, it was Cecilia.

"I will not accept this!" Everyone's attention turned to her. "This type of selection is utterly unacceptable. You would have one of the two boys represent our class? I will not allow it! Our representative should be chosen based upon their skills, experience, and leadership; not by popularity contest. Most of all, it would be shameful to have a boy as our class representative."

Ichika remembered this girl from yesterday, the same one who had an attitude about being better than everyone else and loved to brag about herself. Already she was starting to get on his nerves. Raiden however was unaffected, understanding the view from Cecilia's POV.

"There's no way a male can possibly handle the responsibility and stress that comes with leadership," Cecilia continued her monologue. You can't expect that I, Cecilia Alcott, have to deal with that sort of humiliation for an entire year, do you? We need a class rep who knows how to lead and can manage our class. Not one of those two boys who know nothing of the IS!"

That last statement was drawn too far. Ichika and Raiden were clearly insulted but Raiden learned to control his emotions as he keeps his silence.

"England's not any bigger than Japan, and we didn't get the award for world's worst cuisine, did we?" asked an insulted Ichika.

That made Cecilia angry to the point where she declared "You dare mock my home country? I will not stand for this! I challenge you two to a duel!"

"Fine. It's easier than settling this as a debate!" responded Ichika. "I'm getting sick of hearing you boast about how great you are. Why don't you prove it instead of running your mouth off?"

Ichika then felt a hand on his shoulder by Raiden. He turns to look and sees him shake his head at him, as if telling him that is enough.

"Raiden! But—"

But Raiden shakes his head again as if to silence him. He then turns to Chifuyu and asks, "Orimura-sensei, I assume there are conditions to this declaration of a duel, that there are?"

Chifuyu smirked at the display she witnessed, but more so at Raiden's direction for keeping his cool under fire. "It looks like it's all settled then. As all nominees have agreed, the election will be settled in an IS battle. Due to the number of combatants, the match will be a battle royale. Everyone for themselves and the last one standing will be declared the class representative. Do you all accept these conditions?"

Raiden decides to speak for all three contestants, including himself as Ichika and Cecilia continued to glare at one another in hostilities. "We accept, that we do."

First day at school for the first male IS pilots at the Academy, and a duel had already been declared between the three. Tensions mount up and the boys' pride was on the line, as was Cecilia's.

I'm not sure if any of you are surprised but I have decided to rewrite my Infinite Stratos story as I felt that the previous ones were too... OP. At least for Raiden's case. This time I am downgrading his power level down to something more practical, using the show Rurouni Kenshin as my source of inspiration for his IS. This Raiden Hataru in this story is very similar to the protagonist of Rurouni Kenshin, Himura Kenshin. All right down to the nickname and all. But his appearance remains the same as before.

And be ready for a lot of Oro's, because that is one of the signature traits from Rurouni Kenshin and there is quite a lot.

This crossover has been on my mind for quite some time now and I felt the need to rewrite Raiden's character a lot since I seemed to have rushed him quite a bit. This time I want to take things very slowly and using baby steps. Last time I rushed his power level but now I will have him start at near zero and have him continuously build just like Ichika. Granted he will still be stronger, smarter, and powerful, but not quite so as before. Some of the stuff written here may be similar to the first story and rightfully so since I will be using it as a salvage of sorts but the majority of the story will change to make it more Rurouni Kenshin themed-like crossover with IS. In other words, think of this story as like Rurouni Kenshin but set in the Heisei era of when the Infinite Stratos first came out.

This was just the first chapter. It is not much but each chapter will be longer and have more content, as well as incorporate elements of Rurouni Kenshin with IS. Next up with be the introduction of the boys' IS. And the duel with Cecilia Alcott.

Also I don't know if you recognized the intro OP I added, but if you did, good for you. If not, then I'd advise to look it up on YouTube and you'll understand. I hope.
