Hello! This is my first story here on this website that I have released! Or ever released... Anyway, I hope you enjoy, any reviews are welcome!
Spears of rock and earth slam into the ground, raising new mountains as if it were simply molding clay. A dark clothed man flew around in the moonlit sky as he launched his projectiles at me, trying to claim my head. Morax was this foolish god's name, and he was the god of Geo. His various Adeptus allies also attacked me as I tried to run away, but I knew it would only be a while before I ran out of stamina, my legs already burning from exhaustion.
'I knew this would happen one day, but I still can't believe it would happen so soon…!' I panicked as I ran, the Adepti quickly running off as even more chunks of rock were launched at me. From the corner of my eye I could catch the sight of an arrow charging with cryo energies. But I couldn't focus on that any longer as another rock spear flew by my head, narrowly missing as the aforementioned arrow hit my back instead.
"ARGH!" I screeched as the pain shot through my nerves, driving me into the rocky grass, the cliffside near me cornering me. After barely being able to process the pain a kick caused me to fly backward, shattering my back and driving me into the nearby mountain. Another arrow whizzed through the air and hit my legs, the pain almost causing me to blackout, but my position as a god keeping me relatively conscious.
"Why are you doing this?! Does the contract we have mean nothing?!" I managed to scream out, my thoughts getting blurry as memories and pain constantly fought for control. The resurfacing memories being of my time as alone before finally meeting Morax. The look on his face as he found my home in the middle of a mountain which was carved out using my corrosive acids. His smile as humans worshiped us as we flattened the mountains for fertile land, worshiping us as I created flowing rivers and him various mountains full of ore. It was only soon after that that the humans congregated near the bay, though I haven't seen the humans since I formed the contract with Morax. Though I guess I must have missed some subtext as his face remained stone cold as he lowered down near me. The other Adepti surrounded me as I slowly bled out on the ground, the rocks penetrating my arms, leaving me exposed to my once great friend.
"I can't let you remain free, you are a danger to the people I protect. If you had any other element this wouldn't have had to happen." He calmly stated, but I couldn't even bring myself to look at him straight as the rocks hardened within me. The other Adepti gradually appeared around me, some tense and others with indiscernible looks.
"The contract that you signed stipulated that if you ever became an existence that threatened me and my people, I would silence you. It was your fault for signing this contract without reading, and now you have to pay the price." Morax calmly states, his eyes glowing yellow as spears of rock rise into the sky, their shadows blotting out the moon. The rising rocks similar to how we used to defeat other gods.
"After everything we've gone through? This is how my trust is repaid?" I mumbled as my limbs started going cold.
'How could you… After everything…'
"Lord Morax, there are no remaining enemies." A young voice spoke from behind the Geo god, a familiar voice.
"Good job Xiao. I am also just finishing up."
The demon slayer bowed, his green eyes penetrating me with sadness before looking away.
"Not even my own disciple wants to protect me… have you all already signed contracts as well? Is there no one here that is free?"
I slowly scanned the visible Adepti for any response, but they all looked away as I tried to look them in the eye. Even Ping tried to ignore me, gripping at her skirt as she looked elsewhere.
I slowly closed my eyes, having no desire left to live after losing the last of my friends, weakness invading my body as I started to fade away. The pain seemingly ebbing away at my skin and bones.
"No one is truly free. Either by fate or destiny our lives are already under control. Only by using contracts can fate be affirmed and destiny led to fruition. As my last gift to you I shall seal you away, you will be revered as a friend and god who gave his life for the city we built together. This shall be our last contract."
The Adepti immediately reacted, some with heavy concern and others with subtle happiness for what the situation could bring. Morax himself looked solemn, still gather energy in his hands.
"You… you want to seal me away…? You would risk this chance with me here still alive but couldn't make a better contract!?"
The next thing I saw was black. The next thing I felt was pain. Then I felt fire. My body felt as if it was being torn apart and then resewn only to be torn apart again. Rock tore apart around me as I was pushed into the ground. Pillars of geo penetrating through the chasm above me as I fell.
At this point being conscious was hell and my body finally reacted, allowing me peace as my body continued to tumble down the newly formed chasm.
