Chapter 84: Northwest Party Crashers

While a thunderstorm raged outside of Northwest Manor, the Northwests continued to get ready for their party.

"Preston, I must say," spoke Priscilla Northwest as she was reading a paper. "The guest list for this year's party has so much diversity!"

"Yes, a nice mix of millionaires and billionaires," Preston Northwest said while swatting his servant with the newspaper. "Put the oyster fork at the angle! We're not animals, man!"

"Sorry, sir," the servant said while correcting himself.

Priscilla looked around. "Now where the hell is… Pacifica!" She spotted Pacifica who wore a lake foam green dress as she did a curtsy. "What did I tell you about that dress? The theme is sea foam green, not lake foam green! Go change!"

"But mom, I actually like this dress," Pacifica said.

"Mind your mother, Pacifica," Preston said while holding a bell.

"But-" Pacifica tried to protest, but the ringing of the bell caused her to stop. She winced fearfully. "Yes, father," she said obediently.

"Good," Preston said before suddenly the ground started to shake. Plates, utensils and candles levitated up from the table. "Oh no… it's happening!" he gasped.

The plates and utensils flew around attacking the family and servants. All ducked and hid from the attack. Preston jumped and dodged while Pacifica dove under the table, her mother joining her.

"Stop! You are my possessions! Obey me!" Preston shouted while dodging the plates. He screamed before he hid under the table as well.

"This is a disaster!" Priscilla cried out. "The party's in just twenty-four hours!"

Preston was in a fetal position. "Surely there's someone who can handle his sort of nonsense!"

This gave Pacifica an idea. "Actually, I may know some people who could help with our problem…"

(Played to the Gravity Falls Theme on Guitar by Niall Stenson)

An electric guitar is heard playing as the waterfall, the lumberjack statue, and the water tower are seen. As a bus departs, Mabel comes face to face with Dipper: she eagerly glomps onto him for a hug and Stan appears in a cloud of smoke, welcoming her to the Mystery Shack as the "S" on the sign falls off.

Dipper, Wendy, and Soos show Mabel around the interior of the shack as she takes everything in. The Pines twins then burst out of the porch entrance with Journal #3 in hand and head into the forest. They're soon shown driving the golf cart with Candy, Grenda, and a disguised Vee in the back seat as a werewolf chases after them.

The Pines twins and Pacifica briefly examine the statue of Nathaniel Northwest before the scene switches to the pool where Mermando's fins skim the surface of the water and to the weather vane on the roof of the Shack. Dipper is seen examining Journal #3, Mabel leads Candy, Grenda and Paz up a hill as the camera zooms out showing it's actually Crash Site Omega, and Vee (in her true form) is shown relaxing by a campfire with the Multi-Bear unaware of their shadows taking on the form of Bill.

Stan is shown working on the portal in the basement: when he tests it, gravity reverses in the gift shop, which the twins and Wendy notice but Soos doesn't as he's fixing a toaster.

Several photos are seen (which include the Northwest Ghost, Gideon, Blind Ivan, Eda with King in her arms, Amity and Gus, Star, the Queen of the gnomes, and a large group photo of Willow and the Gatesfield teens) as the newspaper clippings of Camila's death and the Beast of Gatesfield, a drawing of Bill, and the photo of Ford holding Journal #1 are added to the pile. The final photo falls; it shows (from left to right) Soos giving a peace sign, Grenda holding Candy on her shoulder and pushing Pacifica into Mabel, both girls having a light blush on their cheeks. Stan stands behind Dipper as he ruffles the boy's hair, and Wendy has her arm around Vee's shoulder as they sit on a rock. The logo, Reunion Falls, is shown as Luz leans back against it, revealed to be the one playing guitar: she grins and winks at the camera as she finishes playing before the screen fades to black.

At the Mystery Shack during a light rain, Amity was sitting on the front porch having a conversation with two individuals…

"I'm… still thinking about it," she admitted. "About the drawing Eve made of her abductor." She looked down, gripping her knees with her fingers. "The twins and Gus had to calm me down after Eve showed it to me. I don't know how, but… Puck may be alive." She sighed. "And not only may he be alive, but he also might be the one who stranded me here and I don't know what to think about that." She turned to the two she had been talking to. "What do you two think?"

Waddles and Gompers looked at Amity.

"Well, it makes sense that you don't know what to think about it, since it sounds like you are still in a state of shock," Waddles replied in a smart-sounding way.

"Indeed," Gompers replied wisely. "And this Puck sounds like he meant a great deal to you."

Amity nodded. "Yeah, he was a good friend of mine. I even took his last name as my own in order to honor him, since I thought he was dead." She looked into the distance while wearing a worried look. "What could have happened to him? What could have changed to make him do what he did?"

In the kitchen, Vee and Star were hanging out together at the table while holding hand-held video game consoles. "So what's the objective of this game?" she asked, now dawning a new outfit that consisted of a blue flannel button shirt she got from Wendy, dark jean shorts with socks, and red sneakers.

"Oh it's a pretty basic fighting game that I think you'd like," Vee explained. "Soos showed me how to play it in his spare time, it's a hand-held gaming version of an arcade game called Fight Fighters, where you pick a character to fight as."

Star looked at the choices of characters. "Hmm, this Rumble McSkirmish looks good," she said while picking the blonde, eye-patch-wearing buff fighter in indigo pants and red belt. "Who are you picking?"

"I picked Vlampa," Vee replied while choosing a military mutant woman in a qipao and goat legs. "She's an agent who was experimented on by Dr. Karate, who wanted her to be the ultimate fighter. But she ran away and became a bounty hunter. She's my favorite character, I can relate to her."

Star nodded. "Well then, let's see how she'll fare against McSkirmish…"

Vee smirked. "Bring it on!"

"Alright, this way everyone," Stan said as he gave a tour to a group of tourists through the museum area of the Mystery Shack, blue spirits passing by from the walls. "Mind the spirits. This Shack was built on top of a lumberjack burial ground."

"Oooh/Whoa/Are they ghosts?" the tourists said in amazement.

"Howdy!" a pterodactyl statue greeted the tourists.

"Wassup!" spoke the living Sascrotch.

"Buy stuff at the gift shop!" a skeleton in the Hawaiian shirt suggested while drinking from a coconut.

Peeking out through a slightly open door in another room, Gus was shown to be the one responsible for the attractions coming to life thanks to his illusions. Stan turned to him and gave him a thumbs up, while the tourists snapped some photos.

"And they say free child labor is a bad thing…" Stan said to himself.

In the living room, Dipper was on the couch with a bunch of junk food. On the floor sat Eve, now wearing a purple long sleeve dress with a black skull belt, gray leggings and black combat boots. Both were watching the TV.

"You asked for it, you got it! An entire 48-hour marathon of Ghost Harassers on the Used To Be About History Channel!" the announcer on the TV said.

"Be strong, bladder," Dipper said, patting his stomach. "We're not gonna move till sunset…"

"I wish we had shows like this on the Isles," Eve admitted, eyes glued to the television. "Can you pass the chips?"

Suddenly Toby Determined came onto the screen. "We interrupt this program to bring you breaking news!"

"Aww, what?" Dipper complained.

"It's starting!" Mabel jumped out of nowhere along with Candy and Grenda.

"Turn it up!" Candy shouted as she jumped onto the couch next to Dipper's side.

"Make room for Grenda!" Grenda shouted, jumping up.

"Well tonight's the night, but I've been out here for days!" Toby revealed while looking filthy. "The Northwest family's annual high-society-shindig-ball-soiree is here, and even though common folks aren't let in, that doesn't stop us from camping out for a peek at the fanciness!"

"What's all this about a shindig-soiree?" Eve asked while the girls ooed.

"Oh yeah, I almost forgot that today is when the Northwest party throws a huge annual party in their mansion that only the rich can get into," Dipper explained.

"Yeah, it's pretty much the best party of all time!" Grenda added. "Rich food, richer boys…"

"They say each gift basket has a live quail inside," Mabel mentioned.

"Give me your life, Pacifica…" Candy said quietly while pawing at the screen.

"What's the big deal about these Northwests?" Eve asked, curious..

"They're the richest family in town and they get away with it by claiming to be the descendants of the town founder," Dipper explained with a scoff. "Their annual parties are just an excuse to flaunt their riches."

"Oh come on, Dipper, what about Paz? She's come around lately, you know?" Mabel pointed out.

"Yeah, Pacifica is pretty okay," Dipper admitted. "I can tolerate her, for your sake."

Mabel blushed while Candy and Grenda turned to her. "What does he mean by that, Mabel?" Candy asked.

"And why is your face red?" Grenda asked.

"Oh, um… well…" Mabel struggled to answer before she heard a knock on the door "I got it!" She rushed out of the room before she would be forced to explain herself. Once she reached the front door, she opened it to see Pacifica standing on the front porch. "Pa...Pa...Pacifica!?"

"Hey, Mabel," Pacifica replied while putting down her umbrella.

Mabel readjusted herself, trying to play it cool. "Um… what brings you here? I mean, not that you're not welcome or anything-"

"Yeah, um, actually, I need your help," Pacifica said while Mabel let her in. "There's something haunting at Northwest Manor, and I'm gonna need you and your brother's help taking care of it before the party's ruined! Can I count on you? I'll give you anything!"

"C-Count on me?" Mabel gasped, her crush having come here to ask for her help. Then she nodded. "I mean, yeah, I- I mean, me and my bro can help you solve your ghost problem! Right, Dipper?"

"Well, going out hunting ghosts is better than watching it on TV," Dipper replied. "So sure, I'm up for it."

"Sweet, and, uh, what can I give you in return?" Pacifica asked.

"Oh, there's no need for payment," Mabel insisted, but then she remembered something while turning to her friends. "But… maybe my friends can come along."

"Extra tickets, got it," Pacifica nodded.

"We're going to the party, Grenda!" Candy whispered.

"I know, right?" Grenda replied as both girls screeched in joy.

"Hey, if it's a ghost you have a problem with, I can be of service," Eve offered. "As an oracle, I can help communicate with the spirit that's haunting your home. Plus, this sounds like a classic mystery set-up."

"An oracle?" Pacifica asked, then realized what she meant. "Wait, you're one of Luz's witch friends, right? Mabel texted me about Amity and that Gus guy being here… maybe they can help out as well."

"Sure, we can ask them," Dipper replied. "Though that would cost more extra tickets…"

"Deal, but you're gonna need to dress appropriately for the party," Pacifica pointed out.

"Ooh, I have thought of the perfect dress to wear for the party!" Mabel exclaimed while imagining herself in a specific dress. "Like, it'll be puffy, like cotton candy, and it's gonna have glitter and feathers! And it's gonna be all pink!"

Pacifica also imagined the dress Mabel was describing. "...You are NOT wearing that to my party," she denied, while her face was tint pink.

"A party at the Northwests?" Amity asked after getting Ghost to cough out Acorn again.

"Yeah, Pacifica has this ghost problem and so we want to know if you'd like to come," Mabel explained.

"A party full of rich elites…" Amity looked unsure, considering her own experience in these kinds of parties. But when she heard about the ghost problem this Pacifica girl had, she figured that she could be of use. "Okay, I'll go once."

"Great! Just remember to dress appropriately!" Mabel said.

"Right," Amity said while turning to Ghost and Acorn. "Now, I need you two to be on your best behaviors when we're gone. So Ghost, no eating Acorn, and Acorn, please don't make Ghost fly."

"Right!" Acorn saluted, while Ghost rolled her eyes.

"Fine, I'll just take a little nap on the pig," Ghost said while climbing on top of a sleeping Waddles, laying on his back.

"Ahh, that is such a cute image that's gonna live rent free in my head…" Mabel said in awe, while Amity just smiled.

"Sure, I can go to the party," Gus replied to Dipper. "You will have my illusions at your disposal!" He then turned to Stan. "Hey, Grunkle Stan, I'm going to help out one of the twin's friends with a ghost problem, hope you don't mind."

"You kidding, kid?" Stan asked while counting his riches happily. "You go enjoy your little shindig, while I go enjoy our earnings!"

"I don't think your currency would be of much worth from where I live," Gus pointed out to Stan.

"Really? Then more for me!" Stan declared happily, letting the money rain on him.

"...And so, we're all invited to the Northwest family's party," Candy explained to Star and Vee.

"There's gonna be free fancy food!" Grenda declared.

"I'm so up for it, cause who says no to free food?" Vee asked before walking away to make a phone call.

"What about you, Star?" Candy asked.

"Nah, parties aren't really my thing," Star waved it off. "But have fun." She then noticed Vee in the hallways while on the phone.

"Yeah, I've been invited to the party at the Northwests as an extra guest," Vee spoke to Blubs and Durland as she raised her phone up when she heard them scream.

"Oh sweet Delilah, our little Vee is invited to the biggest party of the town!" Durland hollered.

"When you come back, tell us all about it! Oh, and send pictures!" Blubs replied.

"Okay… I will, and I'll head straight home after the party is over," she told them. "I'll tell you all about it later!"

"Who were you talking to?" asked Star as she walked in after Vee finished her call. "Wait, is it that sheriff and deputy you came with?"

"Blubs and Durland? Yeah, that's them," Vee responded. "I just wanted to let them know where I would be tonight."

"You with them?" Star asked her.

Vee nodded. "At first they thought I was a homeless kid and they wanted to have me placed in the foster system. I agreed to let them help me and found a foster home for me outside of Gravity Falls, but I didn't want to leave my friends here behind, so they had a change of heart and they let me stay with them instead. I have been living with them ever since." She gave a smile while thinking about them, looking at a picture of them with her on her phone. "They're really nice, I owe them a lot."

"Do they know your true nature?" Star asked her, causing Vee to pause. "Do they know that you're a Basilisk?"

"Um…" Vee looked down, confirming Star's suspicion. "I… want to tell them when I'm ready."

Star gave Vee a nod. "Hey, I understand," she said. "There are some things I had trouble telling my dad about…"

"Really, what was your dad like?" Vee asked, curious.

"Oh, well… he could be strict and tough, but with a soft spot. And he trained me to be a warrior. I wouldn't be who I am today without him," Star explained, while trying not to get into much detail. "And he was very different from me, like you are very different from Blubs and Durland, which did make it hard for me to tell him about stuff sometimes, since I wasn't always sure if he would understand." She was silent for a moment before looking up at Vee, patting her on the shoulder. "But he did accept me as his daughter despite how different I was and I hope that they accept you too."

"Thanks, Star," Vee replied, smiling softly.

Before they could leave, everyone was getting dressed for the party.

"Thanks for helping us pick out what to wear, guys," Amity said while dressed in a pink, one-strap dress with purple leggings, and pink heel boots. Her hair was being brushed down by her shadow.

"It's no problem," Candy replied while in her green gown with her hair tied up.

"Honestly, this will be my first time being in a party like this," Gus said while wearing a blue button suit with a black tie, ironed-pants, and black shoes.

"I have with my old friend from St. Epiderm," Eve mentioned while dressed in a black long coat connected to her black button shirt, straight-leg trousers, and black heel boots. Her long hair was tied to a ponytail and she wore a spider-necklace with a purple emblem. "My friend, Teri, used to invite me to his dad's charity galas."

"I remember going to those, well more like being forced to go," Amity replied with a scoff. "Wonder how the ones here in this realm fares? Hopefully they won't be as insufferable."

Grenda, who was in her yellow dress, spotted Vee showing up in an orange dress with a green waistband "Wow Vee, you look good in that dress!"

"Thanks," Vee replied while looking down at her dress. "Though I am still getting used to owning clothes rather than just transforming into it."

"Wait, when you do that, does that mean your clothes are a part of your skin?" Gus asked. "And would that technically make you naked when you do that as well?"

"Uh…" Vee said, blushing slightly out of embarrassment.

"Alright, I think I got the list prepared," Dipper said while he and Mabel weren't dressed for the party yet. "When dealing with a ghost, Eve can use her oracle magic to confide and communicate with it, and Grenda can take a hit pretty well so she'd be the best choice for a distraction, but we might need Pacifica to-"

"Hey Dipper, Dipman," Mabel interrupted. "About that… I'm actually thinking that maybe I could handle this on my own with just Eve and Pacifica!"

Dipper looked at his sister in confusion. "Why? We don't know how powerful this ghost is."

"Because I, the charming and romantic Mabel Pines…" Mabel then pointed up. "Am going to confess my love for Pacifica tonight!"

"Eh!?" Dipper exclaimed while looking nervous for his sister. "B-But you've only realized you liked her! W-What if she doesn't like girls? What if her parents don't want her dating girls? What if she doesn't want to date anyone?"

Mabel looked surprised at Dipper's reaction. "Dipper… wow, you're more nervous than I am."

"Of course I am!" Dipper said. "I mean, I promised to support you in any way I can, right? And now you've decided to confess to Pacifica this soon, don't you need to take time? I'm just… worried about how things could go. Like, a million things could go either right or wrong, I just want to make sure that you don't get… hurt, that's all."

"Hey, Mason," Mabel said calmly, patting her brother's shoulder in reassurance. "I have thought it over and I feel like tonight is a night. And if Pacifica doesn't like me back, that's fine. But I would rather take the chance now than wait."

Dipper gave her a nod. "Alright, I'll let you and Eve handle the ghost on your own. But if the situation gets out of hand and you need back-up, just let me know."

"Thanks, bro," Mabel replied while Pacifica showed up.

"Why aren't you two dressed yet? We need to hurry!" Pacifica told them while turning to Mabel. "Mabel, I got a dress for you to wear."

Later, Dipper was wearing a black suit and loose tie as he stretched out his collar. "It's like this collar is strangling me. Do I really have to wear this?"

"I don't know, it makes you look like a young Harrison Ford," Mabel commented while wearing a hot pink dress with a pink bow on the side of her hair, and part of her dress with frilly pink trims, pearl necklace, light pink stockings and black heels. "Pacifica gave me this stylish dress, call me a young Molly Ringwald!"

"Are you two done?" spoke Pacifica, now in her purple long dress with black trims, and a black fur neck collar thingy with velvet arm gloves.

Mabel looks at her in awe. "Pacifica…" she said as her eyes shone brightly.

"If you start crying, I'm kicking you out," she said in deadpan. "Come on, we're off to the limo."

And so, the gang minus Star went by limo to Northwest Mansion. The limo drove down a pathway while behind some barriers were a crowd of people taking pictures at the limo. The gates to the mansion grounds opened for the limo to go through.

"Must be one of those private parties kind of thing," Gus commented after looking at the crowd.

"Yeah, to keep the common folk out." Amity scoffed.

"Wow, you're a bit cynical about this, Amity," Grenda commented.

"Talking from experience…" Amity said as they got out of the limo and walked up to the door. The butlers opened the door for them as Pacifica led them in.

"Welcome to Northwest Manor," Pacifica said, showing everyone the inside of the large mansion. A skeleton of a sea creature was hanging from the ceiling, a servant was carrying a peacock around while others were pouring cider into a cider fountain and another was making an ice statue of Pacifica as a mermaid with a cellphone. "Try not to touch anything."

The girls looked around in awe at the mansion. "Everything's all so fancy!" Mabel commented. "Fancy floors, fancy plants, fancy man." She rubbed the cheeks of a butler.

"Yes, very good, miss," the butler replied.

"Look, the rumors are true!" Candy held up a gift bag as a quail and her chicks flew out of it, surprising everyone.

"Is it really that good to put a quail in those bags?" Amity questioned.

"Oh look, the food table!" Vee pointed as she walked up to the food table. "Whoa… they look so delicious… I shouldn't eat too much since they're for the guests." She tried a cocktail weenie, followed by cheese and crackers. "Mmm, this is good."

"Is this anything like the parties your family threw?" Gus asked Amity.

"Ice sculpture of their little princess, weird drinking fountains, servants and gift bags full of weird creatures… this is very niche," Amity replied with a sigh. "I've always hated these kinds of parties, the people you meet are always stuffy and want something from you, while you want something from them…"

"I guess they must be pretty boring," Gus commented while Amity nodded.

"Ah, if it isn't the Pine twins my daughter has been on about." spoke Preston Northwest as he along with Priscilla walked up to Dipper and Mabel. "Hopefully you two can help us with our little… 'situation' before the guests arrive within the hour?"

"Don't worry, sir, we'll do our best," Mabel replied, while pointing to Eve. "We brought a specialist with us."

"A haunted house isn't new to me," Eve commented. "Heck, I once did a school project exploring abandoned houses with ghosts before."

"I also brought my own bag of salt," Dipper said while holding a bag of salt.

"Right, right," Preston said dismissively. "Pacifica, take them to the 'problem' room."

"I'm on it," Pacifica replied, turning to Mabel and Eve. "Follow me."

As Eve followed Pacifica, Mabel was about to do the same but Candy and Grenda halted her.

"Hey Mabel, check out the guest lists," Candy said. "Not only is the mayor coming, but also one of the basketball players for the Oregon Ducks-"

"Don't forget a cute Australian Duke and other cute boys!" Grenda pointed out, but Mabel stepped aside.

"Yeah, that's nice and all, ladies, but I have no time for that, enjoy the party," Mabel replied as she caught up to Eve and Pacifica, leaving her two friends.

"Mabel's… not interested in cute boys?!" Grenda asked in shock.

"This is… quite a surprising turn…" Candy said while spotting Dipper who was serving himself a plate from the food table. "Dipper! We need to talk!"

"Talk about what…?" he asked them.

"We want to know why Mabel's acting so weird lately?" Grenda asked him.

"She's um… going through some stuff right now," Dipper responded. "Which is why she volunteered to handle the ghost problem."

Pacifica led the two girls into a room filled with mounted animal heads, a bearskin rug, a stuffed animal in the corner, a portrait of a bearded lumberjack over the fireplace, and a pool table. The reddish light of the room was due to the lit fireplace.

"This is the main room where it's been happening," Pacifica explained.

"Wow, this room would definitely creep Korn and his sisters out…" Eve commented as they walked in.

Mabel flipped through the journal. "This does look like the kind of room that would be haunted. Don't worry though. According to the journal, most ghosts fall on a ten-category scale, so a ghost that floats plates around sounds like a category one, which are usually harmless."

"Categories? Back at the Isles, we usually measure our ghosts with power levels," Eve explained. "A ghost that just floats things would be around level zero, usually the weakest level for a ghost."

"So you've dealt with ghosts before?" Pacifica asked Eve. "What is it exactly that you do?"

"Oh, well I study in the Oracle Track, which I joined in order to talk to spirits and ghosts from the realms of the dead. I use what I learned to help solve mysteries with my old gang, the Shadowy Secret Expozers, with a 'Z'. We solve mysteries and bust costumed crooks who pretend to be ghosts and monsters to commit all kinds of crimes, though occasionally we do encounter real ghosts and monsters."

"Oh, like in Scooby-Doo," Pacifica realized.

"Yeah!" Eve nodded, but then looked confused. "What's a Scooby-Doo?"

"All we need to do is splash the ghost with some anointment water and it's free from your pretty hair!" Mabel declared, until she realized her slip.

"Wait, what's that about my hair?" Pacifica asked her, causing Mabel to look nervous.

"Uh…" Mabel said, but suddenly a device rang out, causing Mabel to pull it out. "Wait, I think I got something!" she said while scanning through the room with the EMF detector. The device beeped when it was pointed towards the portrait of the bearded lumberjack. The device then went dead. "Lost a signal!"

Eve summoned her crystal ball. "Oh spirit, please hear me out," she said as her eyes glowed while she caressed the orb. "My name is Eve, and I am an oracle… oh spirit… what is your deal?"

Mabel watched Eve before she looked back up at the painting and her eyes widened… for the lumberjack inside the painting was gone. "Um… where did the painting guy go…?"

"AAH!" Pacifica screamed while the two turned around and saw blood dripping from the mounted bear head on the wall. The blood spilled from its jaws.

Pacifica backed away before the three girls saw flames bursting from the fireplace. Lightning flashed outside as the mounted animal heads started chanting.

"Ancient sins… ancient sins… Ancient sins!"

"Oh crap…" Eve muttered in shock. "We're not dealing with a level one ghost…"

Soon objects started to fly around and circle the trio as they backed away. Lighting appeared above them on the chandelier, very dangerously close to them.

"What's going on here!?" Pacifica cried out.

"It's a Category/Level Ten!" Mabel and Eve said together, their bottle of anointment water and crystal ball both exploding. They screamed as Pacifica went to hold onto Mabel as things got worse in the room.

Back at the Shack, Acorn was flying around until she spotted a mirror. She checked herself out in it.

"Hmm, I wonder if I should get my hair done," she said while fluffing her hair. But then she saw something in the mirror, something behind her.

"Hello, dinner," Ghost spoke as she tried to grab Acorn, who flew up.

"Hey! I thought Amity told you that I'm off limits!" Acorn told the cat Palisman, who tried to catch her with her paws.

"I know that Amity said I should be on my best behavior," Ghost said to herself. "But I am acting on my best behavior… behaving as the best cat, that is!" She gave chase to the pixie, who flew out the room while Ghost chased after her.

As Ghost chased Acorn down the stairs, Stan hollered. "Keep it down from here! I'm trying to watch my movie!" He was sitting on the couch.

Star entered the room. "Hey, what are you watching?"

"The Duchess Approves," Stan responded. "I don't expect you kids to like this kind of stuff, but they are finally airing a rerun! I thought it would be torture to watch the first time I saw this, but then I got really into it! Up until the end."

"You're watching the Black and White Period Piece Old Lady Boring Movie Channel! Stay tuned for 'The Duchess Approves' starring Sturly Stembleburgiss as The Duchess and Grampton St. Rumpterfrabble as irascible coxswain Saunterblugget Hampterfluppinshire!"

"Are those… real names?" Star questioned.

Stan shrugged. "You wanna watch with me?"

Star thought about it. "Eh, it's not like I got anything better to do," Star said as she sat on the floor in front of Stan.

Back at the party, Preston was welcoming some guests in.

"Welcome dukes and duchesses, sultans, and sportsmen…"

"Yo, what up, Presto?" the Oregon Ducks player asked.

"And, reclusive 102-year-old mayor of Gravity Falls, Mayor Befufflefumpter," he said to the really elderly mayor in the wheelchair with the vultures circling over his head.

"It's okay, they're with me," the mayor said, referring to the vultures.

"Tonight, we will enjoy only the finest of tastes and only the snootiest of laughter!" Preston said as a snooty rich guy started laughing in a snooty, stereotypical French manner. "That's the ticket!"

Candy held a fondue fork to dip in the cheese and chocolate fountains. "Cheese… chocolate… cheese.. chocolate…"

"Candy, Candy," Dipper said as he came in to stop what Candy was doing. "What's with the sweet-savory loop?"

"I'm just living the dream…" Candy said while snapping out of her trance. She noticed Dipper's look. "Wait, shouldn't you be dealing with the ghost?"

"Oh I'm just here for back-up," Dipper replied. "Though I do hope Mabel is doing alright."

"Why did she decide to go deal with ghosts instead of staying at the party?" Candy asked.

"Well, let's just say she's trying to impress someone and-" Dipper was interrupted by the sound of Chapman the butler dinging a glass with a spoon, getting everyone's attention.

"Introducing Baron Marius von Funshauser!" he announced as coming through the front door was a young teenage boy with long, flowing brown hair, fair skin, thick eyebrows, a large pointed chin with a cleft, and a red mole. He wore a red military tunic with gold epaulets, white pants and gloves, and black riding boots. He also had a military medal on the tunic.

Marius walked past Dipper, Candy, and Grenda. "Gutentag," he said while passing them by.

"Yeesh, talk about being overdressed, huh?" Dipper asked Candy, who was too busy fawning over the Baron. "Uh… Candy?"

"What… a… hot dog," Candy said while her glasses fogged up.

"You said it, he's a real charmer!" Grenda replied while the two girls fawned over Marius.

As Dipper saw Candy staring at Marius, he realized that he felt very strongly about this for some reason. "Why do I feel threatened suddenly?" he asked himself.

Meanwhile, Amity and Gus stood against the wall while seeing Marius passing by, while Candy and Grenda crushed on him. "And there it is, a young prince showing up for people to fawn over, he is never going to make it through adulthood," Amity commented.

"Yeah, and look at that guy," Gus said, pointing to the French man. "I mean, how big do your teeth need to be?"

"Don't get me started on those two." Amity pointed to two foreign dignitaries, one with a black suit, sunglasses, a large mustache, and a white turban, while the other appeared to be a muscular masked woman in a pink robe and scarf. "That mustache looks so big, and that scarf… how can they kiss in all of that?"

"Who knows," Gus replied and the two laughed.

"Hey, thanks for riffing with me, I usually do it by myself to get through these kinds of parties," Amity said.

"No prob, it's just like what me and Luz used to do back then," Gus replied. "Like, anytime we get some not dogs, we'd sometimes make up backstories of some random townspeople in Bonesborough."

"Really? How does that work?" Amity asked while Gus looks around.

"That guy over there with the ball," he pointed to the sportsman. "His backstory, by day he's an ordinary sportsman named Gordon Humanguy, but by night, he's known as… The Human Baller, half-human, half-ball. He fights crime while being made out of balls! He sometimes faces off against his arch enemy, the Stickler, who's um… a maniac who uses a large stick, the Human Baller's weakness!"

"So you just make one up from the spot?" Amity asked.

"Yup, it's one of our favorite ways to waste time," Gus commented.

"You know, it's nice that we get to hang out like this," Amity commented, after sipping her drink. "I don't think we really did stuff together before."

"I mean, what do we really have in common besides Luz?" Gus asked. "I am a bit of a dork…"

"Nah, Gus, if anyone's the dork it's me," Amity explained. "I mean, I work at the library, I don't really like socializing with other people, I am a big fan of the Azura franchise… Luz and Willow are honestly so much cooler than me."

"Guess that makes us the double-dorks," Gus replied and Amity nodded.

"Yup… to us being the double-dorks," Amity said as she toasted her drink and Gus did the same.

"To the double-dorks," Gus replied as they clinked their drinks.

"Oooh, I love your hair color!"

Amity noticed a girl next to her. This girl appeared to be a teenager around the same age as her siblings. She was about as tall, with pastel pink hair that reached her back, with a streak of blonde in it. She had blue eyes, darker skin that indicated she was mixed race, light pink lips, and she was wearing a hot pink long dress with a flower corsage, and white arm gloves. The girl was staring at Amity, who looked at her awkwardly. "Um… thanks?"

The girl raised her hand up. "Duchess Aurore, and I must say I thought I was the only one here who dyed her pink, but here you are! We're like twins!" she said with a smile.

"Oh, well, I've had it dyed for a long while," Amity replied. She never thought someone would confront her about her hair. Though, the girl did seem nice. "My name's Amity, by the way. This is my friend, Gus."

"Nice to meet you," Gus commented as Aurore shook his hand. "You from around here?"

"Oh no, I came here from France," she explained. "My family are of noble lineage, but that doesn't mean that I can't have some fun around here… you ever been to France?"

"We haven't…" Amity answered.

"I recommend it, it is known as the city of romance, filled with great arts, music, the Eiffel Tower… you'll love it there!" Aurore said with a smile. "So… where are you two from?"

Amity and Gus looked at each other while Gus replied. "Um… we're from-"

"Nebraska," Amity answered.

"Oh, Nebraska…" Aurore replied. "A little far away, isn't it? Isn't that in Canada?"

"Yep," Amity said, trying to sound confident.

"What's it like there?" Aurore asked.

"I would say… there is nothing much to do there," Amity replied, trying to make it up as best as she can. "It's quiet… boring…"

"Yup, there's nothing exciting going on in Nebraska," Gus said as he went along.

"AAAAH!" Pacifica, Mabel, and Eve screamed together while items floated around them.

"Ancient blood and blackened skies, the forest dark shall once more rise!" the animal heads spoke while blood dripped from their eyes and mouths.

"What do we do? What do we do?!" Pacifica asked.

"Eve, what's your input on this?" Mabel asked.

"I think what we might be dealing with is some kind of spirit guardian!" Eve exclaimed. "From the dark poetry, he's probably a vengeful nature spirit… or that this mansion was built over a burial ground."

The flames flared up again as a black skeleton hand emerged from the fire, followed by a whole skeleton with an ax in its head. The trio hid underneath the pool table while a body forms around the skeleton, turning him into a pale green man in a flannel button shirt, jeans, dirty boots, with a part of his ribs sticking out and a missing eye.

"I smell… a Northwest!" he declared while his bare face became covered in a flaming blue fire beard and his lower lip bared fangs. He summoned a large ax that hit the floor as he dragged it. "Come out… come out… wherever you are…!"

"Hurry, use the book or something!" Pacifica told Mabel.

"On it! Let's see, how to handle a cat-ten ghost?" Mabel used a black light to reveal the secret message on the page. "A-ha! Advice!"

Advice: Pray for Mercy!

"Seriously?!" Mabel whispered, while turning to Eve. "Got a second opinion?"

"Yeah… I'm with the book on this one," Eve said while the table moves on its own. This caused the lumberjack ghost to turn around and spot them.

"You shouldn't have come here!" he shouted as he brought his ax down, which missed the trio.

Ahh… Ahh…. Ahh…

"This way, hurry!" Paz led them out while the ghost chased them.

"Let's make like a griffin and fly out!" Eve cried while she, Mabel and Pacifica ran from the large ghost, who went after them.

Ahh… Ahh… Ahhh...~!

They ran down the hall while the ghost chased them. Eve gets the girls to turn a corner, while the manor's ghost flew around the corner, passing a knight and two bush plants.

Hey girl, you got me running, na, na-na, na-na-na-nah!

Heart is lost and my mind's gone running, na, na-na, na-na-na-nah!

Once the ghost was gone, the knight was revealed to be Eve and behind the bushes were Mabel and Paz. The trio sighed in relief, until the ghost phased through the wall which spooked them.

Tell me, tell me, where you've been hiding,

I took a look and I decided!

They ran through an indoor garden, passing by the peacocks and getting mud on their shoes. The ghost flew in front of them, causing them to run back.

Gotta know why you mystify me,

I can't take nothing but you… all I do…

They ran down the hall and Mabel saw Paz trip. The ghost was about to get her, but Eve drew a spell circle to shoot a light spell at the ghost, blinding him. Mabel went to grab Paz's hand as they ran off.

...All day through… I think of you…

The trio ran into a hallway corridor filled with doors on both sides. They opened one door and ran inside. The ghost searched for them and opened one door, causing the girls to scream and head to another door which the ghost opened.

Hey girl, you know you need me, na, na-na, na-na-na-nah!

Open your eyes, so you can see me, na, na-na, na-na-na-nah!

Mabel and Paz ran through another door as the ghost chased them. Eve went to the door to the other side, which the ghost took. Soon, everyone was going through different doors on both sides of the corridor. The girls and the ghost then suddenly stopped for a quail and its chicks passing by through another doorway. After that, they resumed the chase.

Tell me, tell me that we'll make it,

If there's a chance, then I'm gonna take it!

The girls ended up chasing the ghost who ran to another door. It was then Paz stopped. "Wait, shouldn't we run from the ghost?"

"Oh yeah/of course/that actually makes more sense," Eve, Mabel, and the ghost nodded in agreement, as the ghost continued to chase after them.

Here's my heart now, and please don't break it,

I don't want nothing but you…~!

Eve was shutting her eyes as she ran and she almost fell out of a window, but Mabel and Paz grabbed her to keep her from falling, pulling her back inside.

There's so much that I want to say now.

Tell me, tell me, it's okay now.

Say you love me, say you'll stay now,

Tell me what to do…~!

The trio ran down the hall as Mabel found something in the journal. "I got it! Haunted paintings can be only trapped in a silver mirror!"

"Look!" Eve pointed at the room up ahead. "There are silver mirrors over there!"

"But we can't go in, that room has my parents' favorite carpet pattern!" Paz shouted. "They'll kill us if we track muddy footprints all over!"

"But how are we gonna get rid of the ax-crazy Paul Bunyan over here?!" Mabel asked.

"Hang on, I'll just levitate the mirror!" Eve said but while she did so, her heel broke. "W-WAAAH!" she cried as she fell onto Mabel and Paz, causing them to run through a painting of a skeleton in a crown and robe.

The trio rolled into a secret, dusty, cobwebbed room while the ghost flew past the painting, not noticing them.

"Oi… what is this place?" Mabel asked.

"That's weird, I don't even know where this room is…" Pacifica said in confusion.

"Oh yeah, secret room," Eve said. "I see places like this all the time. Sometimes they hold a clue about the monster of the week."

"Well, at least we're safe from the ghost," Mabel commented.

"Yeah," Paz nodded, but behind her a sheet covering a painting was coming to life, arms and a face appearing in it in an attempt to swallow her.

Mabel noticed this. "Pacifica, look out!" She pulled Pacifica aside, knocking over some silverware.

"Your fate is sealed!" the ghost declared, the sheet falling off of him while Eve tripped over something. She looked down and saw a silver mirror.

"A silver mirror!" Eve said as she grabbed it.

Pacifica tripped while Mabel helped her, then they saw the ghost holding his ax as he raised it up. Mabel stood in front of Pacifica, protecting her. "Mabel!" Paz cried out.

"Prepare to die, Northwest!" the ghost declared as he raised his ax.

However, Eve stood in between them, holding the silver mirror in front of the ghost.

The trio were then knocked out of the first floor window, rolling over a short hill as they were wrapped in an entangled window drape. Once they stopped rolling, they groaned as Mabel found herself on top of Pacifica.

"Eep!" Mabel immediately got up while Pacifica got up as well.

"Did we get him?" Pacifica asked while Eve grabbed the mirror.

"No!" the ghost cried out, banging on the mirror. "Free me!"

"Oh… my… Titan…" Eve got up while holding the mirror. "I did it! I caught a ghost!" She then turned to the other two. "I mean, we did it! This is so exciting, I can't wait to tell the rest of the gang about this!"

"We did it! Haha, yeah!" Mabel and Pacifica cheered. Pacifica hugged Mabel and Mabel hugged her back.

'This is the perfect moment, Mabel,' Mabel thought with a smile. 'Just go for it!' She cleared her throat. "Um, hey Pacifica," Mabel said while they let go of each other. "Now that we have beaten that scary ghost together, there's something that I've wanted to-"

"YOU'LL PAY FOR THIS, FOOLISH CHILDREN!"

The ghost ranted in the mirror while they looked at him. "… On second thought, let's just exorcize somewhere here first."

"That's probably a good idea," Pacifica agreed.

"Luckily I took an exorcist course," Eve said while holding the mirror.

"WITCH! SERVANT OF EVIL!"

"Hey, hey! Enough of that!" Eve shouted, pointing to the ghost.

The trio meet up with Preston and Priscilla along with their butler Chapman.

"Well done, Pacifica, looks like you've found the right girls for the job," Preston said.

"We can't thank you enough," Priscilla added while Chapman shook Mabel's and Eve's hands. "That's enough." Pacifica stopped shaking their hands and excused himself.

"Well, we've fulfilled our end of the deal, now we can just enjoy the party," Mabel said while Pacifica smiled at her.

"Yeah, that'd be great!" Pacifica agreed while Eve started walking away. "Wait, aren't you gonna join?"

"I will, but first I have a ghost to get out of your hair," Eve said while looking back to talk to them, causing her to run into a pillar.

"You know, I think I should go help her," Mabel said while going after Eve. "See you later at the biggest party of all time!"

"Alright, later Mabel!" Paz waved, smiling hopefully.

"Hey, thanks for helping out getting that ghost," Mabel told Eve when he caught up to her.

"No problem, and I do hope it goes well with you and that Pacifica girl," Eve said.

Mabel looked surprised and nervous. "H-How did you-?!"

"I'm an oracle, I can tell from your aura that you have some strong feelings for her," Eve replied. "And something tells me that she's impressed at you for putting your life on the line for her. Most consider that hot."

"Wow…" Mabel said in awe, pressing her own face while trying to hide the red, thinking about what Pacifica could be thinking about her.

"It'll never work with a Northwest."

The two looked at the mirror, Eve raising it up. "Oh yeah, I almost forgot that after solving a case, we usually ask why you're doing this."

"Yeah, why are you haunting this place?" Mabel asked the ghost.

"You both had been had!" the ghost declared. "You reminded me of me a hundred and fifty years ago…"

"What do you mean?" Mabel asked.

The ghost then told his story. "150 years ago this day, the Northwests asked us lumber-folk to build them a mansion atop the hill," he began, "We were told it would be a service to the town, that once a year they would throw a grand party and all would share in the bounty! It took years of backbreaking labor and sacrifice, but when it was time for the grand party they promised the common folk of the town… they refused to let us in!"

The two girls gasped while listening to the ghost's story.

"And with the trees gone, the mudslides began," he continued. "While they partied and laughed, I was swept away by the storm! And so I said with final breath, 'One-fifty years I'll return from death, and if the gate's still closed to town, wealthy blood will stain the ground!' A curse passed down until this day…"

"Wait, are you saying the Northwests knew this haunting was coming?!" Eve exclaimed.

"And they just… tricked us into helping them to avoid ghostly justice?" Mabel asked, feeling betrayed by this revelation.

Meanwhile, back at the party, Candy and Grenda were shown to be flirting with Marius.

"So Marius, you say you're from Australia? What is crocodile hunting like?" Grenda asked him.

"I am from Austria," Marius corrected.

"Ehehe… tag me, tag me," Grenda whispered to Candy, who tagged her.

"Hi, I am Candy, I love the tiny hats you wear on your shoulders," she complimented.

"Hey, Candy!" Dipper got in between her and Marius. "Um, I could uh, need a little help uh… a mystery!"

"Um… I'm kinda busy right now…" Candy said awkwardly, trying to look at Marius.

"Oh it's not gonna take long, really," Dipper said.

"Um, gutantag," Marius greeted Dipper.

"Oh, you must be that Marius Hasburg guy everyone's been talking about." Dipper turned to Marius, "I'm Candy's best friend…"

"Um, since when?" Candy asked.

"Right!" Dipper shouted while acting tough around Marius. "Let me ask you this, Marius, um… what's with the medals? You won a battle or something or did you mistake this party for a costume party? Going as Prince Charming?"

"Dipper, what the heck?" Candy gritted her teeth at him.

"I'm just saying, I mean look at this guy, all pampered up for the aristocrats," Dipper pointed out. "Like, the hair for example, do you really need to take ten hours to get that done? And by the way, you shouldn't be wearing white pants since it stains easily." He splashed some soda on Marius's pants, causing Candy and Grenda to gasp in shock. "See?"

"Mason Pines!" Candy shouted at him, turning him to face her. "What has gotten into you?"

"Well I was… well…" Dipper suddenly stammered nervously when Candy yells at him like that. "Why am I stammering?"

"I don't know, Grenda?" Candy nodded to Grenda, who picked Dipper up. "We are seriously gonna have a talk about what you've done, you jerk!"

"Oh crap…!" Dipper said with a wince, while Marius just awkwardly shuffled away.

Vee while eating the food watched from afar. "What's that all about?" she asked before munching on a truffle.

Meanwhile, Preston and Priscilla were talking to the Mayor. "Thank you so much for coming, Mayor," Preston spoke while handing Chips to the elderly Mayor. "As a sign of our respect, please take this chimp servant. Keep him away from the bright lights, he gets… grabby."

Pacifica then spotted Eve and Mabel rejoining the party. "Mabel, you're back!" Pacifica said, but then she saw Mabel's expression. "Mabel…?"

"Did you lie to me, Paz?" Mabel asked in a hurt tone, making Pacifica's eyes widen while Eve went over to Preston.

"Mr. Northwest, did you know that you could've gotten the ghost to go away just by inviting the townspeople to the people?" Eve asked, which Amity and Gus overheard.

Preston gave her a blank look. "Your point?" he asked, shocking Eve.

"You knew?" Eve asked, looking appalled.

"Knew what?" Amity asked while marching over.

"They lied to us! The Northwests knew this ghost haunting was coming and the ghost is in fact a lumberjack that their ancestors cheated! All they had to do to get rid of it was by letting the townsfolk into the party like their ancestors promised, but instead they got us to do their dirty work for them," Eve explained, causing Amity and Gus to look livid.

"What?!" Amity said.

"You couldn't do something so simple as inviting more people in to break the curse?!" Gus exclaimed in disbelief at Preston. "What's wrong with you?!"

"Mr. Northwest," Mabel said. "Maybe you should just let the townspeople in, that way he won't bother you-"

Preston scoffed. "Look who you're talking to," he said as he leaned towards Mabel threateningly. "I'm hosting a party for the most powerful people in the world! You think they'd come here if they had to rub elbows with your kind?"

"Dad! You can't just-" Pacifica was about to say something, but Preston rang the bell in front of her, causing her to fall silent and step back.

This alarmed Amity, sending her all sorts of red flags. "You… you're disgusting…"

Preston turned to Amity. "What did you say?"

Amity glared at him. "You heard me. You dipshit rich folk are all the same, while you flaunt your riches and think you're better than everyone else, deep inside you're all just miserable assholes who are afraid of losing control of everything and everyone around them, so you do whatever you can to stay in control, even making your own children afraid of you!" she shouted at him, making Preston back off. Her eyes started flashing pink.

"Amity…" Mabel gasped, before realizing that she couldn't see Pacifica around anymore.

"You better watch your tone to me," Preston said to Amity, who continued to glare at him. "Do you know who I am?"

"I don't a flying fuck about who you are, cause in the end, you don't matter, you'll never matter," Amity told him off, giving him a smirk. "When you die, nobody will care about you as a person! They will only value your money!"

Lighting flashed in the background, which startled Eve. "YAH!" she yelped, causing the mirror to slip out of her grasp and shatter on the floor. "Aw man, not another broken mirror…"

Everyone else looked down at the shattered mirror in horror. Mabel said what was on everyone's mind: "Oh crap…"

Back at the Shack, Acorn was running from Ghost who kept chasing after her. She thrusted herself forward while Ghost kept chomping at her over and over. Acorn flew under a desk and when Ghost looked under as well, Acorn levitated a wooden plank and swatted Ghost's behind.

"ACK!" Ghost cried out, while coming out and seeing Acorn sticking her tongue out at her. "Why you…!"

"Come try to eat me, you pussy!" Acorn shouted while flying into a hole in the wall. Ghost waited at the hole for her to come out. However, Acorn appeared out of a hole in the floor and grabbed the cat's tail, putting it in an outlet. "Hehehe…"

"Come out of there you-AAAHH!" Ghost was shocked and launched into the air.

"What's that noise?" Stan asked while continuing to watch the movie while eating ice cream.

"Probably the cat," Star replied while watching The Duchess Approves.

"Oh, this is the best part!" Stan told her.

"I don't care about Dukes, commoners, or his royal highness, Lionel of Cornwall… I'm not afraid anymore, mother!"

"Duchess, I forbid you!"

"I may be a duchess… but I'm also a woman!"

"YES!" Stan and Star cheered.

"You tell her that, Duchess!" Star cheered for her.

"I really love this film, it reminds me of my life… in a way," Stan commented.

"Honestly, it also reminds me of my life… in a way," Star admitted. "Elizabeth kinda reminds me of my mother…"

They then heard knocking at the door. "Ugh, who's at the door now?" Stan asked.

"Want me to answer it?" Star offered.

"Nah, I think I've seen what happens after this part. I'll go get it." Stan got up and headed for the front door while the frantic knocking continued. "Alright, alright, I'm coming!" he shouted as he made it to the door. "If this is another girl scout visit-" He opened the door and his eyes widened in shock. "You!"

Back at the manor, everyone was looking down at the shattered mirror.

"Please tell me the ghost wasn't trapped in that mirror…" Amity said while Eve whimpered.

"What type of ghost was it again…?" Gus asked.

"A vengeance-type," Eve wailed. "A very dangerous one..."

"BWAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAAAAA!"

They turned to the fireplace the Northwest family portrait hung over. The flames rose as the ghost appeared. "GENERATIONS LOCKED AWAY! MY REVENGE SHALL HAVE ITS DAY!"

"Ah, the Grim Reaper!" the mayor spoke, the only guest who didn't look shocked. "I'd been wondering when you would arri- AACK!" He was then zapped by the ghost, causing him to turn into a wooden statue and fall over.

Everyone started to scream and panic as they ran around. The Ghost started zapping and turning people into wooden statues, along with bringing the stuffed animals to life to attack them as the room began to turn into an indoor forest.

Priscilla turned to her husband. "Preston, what do we do?!"

"Prepare the panic room!" Preston said while punching a stuffed squirrel off of him.

Mabel backed away as someone tried to reach out to her while turning into wood. "Please… help… me…" He was turned into a wooden statue.

"Whoa, that is seriously messed up!" Mabel pointed out while the ghost laughed.

"Just one way to change your fates, a Northwest must open the party gates!" the Ghost declared.

Hearing this, Amity turned to the others. "Where's Pacifica? We need her to open the gates!" she declared.

"Why? She knew about the curse!" Gus pointed out.

"She was afraid!" Amity shouted. "She probably wanted to tell us, but her parents were controlling her with that bell her father has!" She turned to Mabel. "She's the only one who could do this, we need to find her!"

"But where could she be?" Mabel asked.

"Oh, why not the-AAH!" Eve didn't finish as she was quickly turned into a wooden statue.

"Eve!" Amity, Mabel and Gus cried out while dodging the ghost's beams.

"Where's Dipper?!" Mabel asked, only to see the wooden statues of her brother with Candy and Grenda, the latter holding him up while the former was scolding him. "NO!"

Vee was also turned into a wooden statue while trying to gather as much food as she could. "Not Vee too…" Gus said after seeing her.

Amity looked toward the Ghost of Northwest Manor and shot fire spells at him. Gus did the same, using his illusions while also beaming light spells towards him. The ghost dodged their attacks and defended himself using the zombie, taxidermy animals, which the witches were forced to fight off.

"Wait, I think I know where she went!" Mabel shouted.

Amity turned to Gus. "Think you can keep him busy?"

"Hope he can fall to my illusions!" Gus declared, creating illusion clones while avoiding the beams that turned people into wood.

Amity ran with Mabel while shielding herself from the attacks. She caught up to her as they ran down the hall to look for Pacifica. However, halfway there, someone jumped towards them with a sword, targeting Amity. However, Amity's shadow came to her defense, blocking the sword with her shadowy hands.

"I knew it!" the attacker, revealed to be Duchess Aurore, declared while glaring at Amity.

"Duchess Aurore?!" Amity cried out while seeing the teenage girl jumping back. "Why are you attacking us?!"

"No, just you!" she declared, holding her blade up at Amity. "You're responsible for all the chaos around here, I know what you are, Fae!"

Amity gasped. How could she know that she was a Fae? Well, part-Fae. "W-Wait, I'm only part-Fae, but I'm not responsible for it!" she said while shielding herself with a force field when Aurore kept slashing.

"Lies!" she declared while kicking the force field and pushing Amity away.

"Amity!" Mabel cried out while looking around for something to help.

The ghost kept zapping everyone into wooden statues. When he zapped the Gus clones, they just disappeared.

"Hey uh, Mr. Ghost, do you have a name?" Gus asked him.

"In my previous life, I was Archibald Corduroy," the ghost named Archibald declared. "What do you wish to know about me, you illusionist boy?"

"So you're like Wendy's ancestor," Gus noted. "Listen, I get what you're mad about! There's a lot of people that I don't like, but vengeance isn't the answer! Your desire for revenge is blinding you and there are innocent people getting hurt because of you!"

"Their fates are sealed by association!" Archibald declared. "And soon it'll be you who'll face damnation!"

Sam moved behind to grab Aurore, but she turned around and threw a flash grenade at the shadow. Sam retreated to Amity's side while Aurore kept slashing her shield. Amity uses a fire spell to make the sword in Aurore's hand hot, causing her to wince and drop it. Once Amity let her shield down, Aurore ran up to do a judo kick on her, sending Amity into a bust of Preston, making it fall down and break.

Amity got up, wincing while rubbing her stomach. "Why are you doing this? What did I do to you?!"

"You and your kind, the Fae, have ruined my family's life!" Aurore declared, grabbing her iron blade while marching over to Amity. "Wherever the Fae go, trouble follows them. And sure enough, you are here and-"

WHACK!

Aurore felt herself being struck in the head, causing her to be knocked out. Amity saw Mabel behind Aurore, holding up an Annie trophy.

"It's never a good idea to monologue during a fight," Mabel commented while looking at the trophy. "When did the Northwests win an Annie?"

The two decided to leave the knocked out Aurore behind as they headed over to the ripped painting that led to the secret room. They would find Pacifica inside the secret room, flickering her flashlight.

"Pacifica!"

The blonde girl looked up to see Mabel and Amity entering. She wiped the tears on her face "What… what are you two doing here?"

"That ghost got out and he's turning everyone into wood ornaments, and he's rhyming for… some reason… but we need your help!" Mabel said as she grabbed Pacifica's hand before she noticed the tears in her eyes. "Paz…?"

Pacifica turned away. "I… I didn't want you to see me like this…"

Mabel and Amity turned to look at each other in concern, while they knelt over to her.

Pacifica held her flashlight up. "Do you wanna know why this room was locked up? This is what I found in here."

Portraits of her ancestors. One portrait shows shaking hands with a Native American leader while crossing his fingers behind his back. Another appeared to be a mad scientist. One of them was a robber and another was a hunter on top of a pile of dead animals.

"A painted record of every horrible thing that my family's ever done," she said. "Lying, cheating, and then there's me… I lied to you just because I'm too scared to talk back to my stupid parents!" She took off her diamond earrings and threw them at a painting of her parents. "I'm sorry… I didn't want you to know this about me…"

Both girls looked sympathetic for Pacifica as Mabel tried to reassure her. "Okay, so your family's gotten mixed up in some bad stuff, that doesn't mean-"

"No, it does." Pacifica told her. "Mabel… you've always been so nice to me, and I never did anything to deserve it. Like, hanging out with you and Dipper, and everyone, hanging around the Shack… I started to realize that this isn't normal… my parents aren't… normal… and now I'm just so scared that, no matter what I do, I'll end up just like them." She looked down before feeling Mabel's hand placed over hers, getting her to look up at the brunette girl.

"Pacifica, I know you," Mabel told her. "Your outsides may be crusted over with gold coins and expensive body lotion and hairspray, but your insides are made of bubbles and kitten kisses… and rainbow dolphins high-fiving each other, and that's what matters. And your parents are a couple of shiny poo-heads inside and out, and you are nothing like them."

Pacifica was in tears when Mabel told her all of this, a wave of relief coming over her. She then grabbed Mabel by the back of the head and pulled her close, eyes still full of tears as she closed them… and kissed her.

Amity turned away to give them a moment as Pacifica kissed a surprised Mabel before pushing her away and letting her go. Both girls were blushing, while Pacifica's mind was rushing, probably wondering what Mabel thought about it. As for Mabel, there were stars in her eyes and hearts floating around her head.

"Oh… god no," Pacifica said, starting to panic. "This was a mistake, I'm leaving-"

"Pacifica, wait!" Mabel said, stopping her. "It's okay!"

Paz looked at her. "You… you don't mind?"

"Not if you don't," Mabel responded. She then heard Amity clear her throat. "Oh, and it looks like we have a witness."

"I looked away to give you a moment," Amity said while Pacifica just blushed in embarrassment. "But Pacifica… I understand how you feel about your family."

"You do?" Pacifica asked her. "But… you hardly know me much."

"I know, but I was in a similar situation once," Amity replied. "I was a rich girl myself… emphasis on 'was'. My mother was very controlling of me and my siblings, but after I had enough and I had learned about some awful things that both my mother and my grandparents had done, I disowned my family name to emancipate myself before going to live with Luz and her family." She gave Paz a pat on her shoulder. "You don't have to be like your parents, you are your own person and should not let the shadows of your family's legacy dictate who you are."

This reassured Pacifica. "You're right… both of you," she said while she brought out something. "There's… also something I should show you guys." She held up a tube, which Mabel recognized.

"Is that…?!" Mabel said as she read the name of the tube.

"I went back to the headquarters of the Blind Eye Society alone after our adventure there," she explained while holding the tube. "When that Blind Ivan guy mentions he knew one of us, I had my suspicions. So I looked around the tubes and found this with my name on it. Turns out they erased my memory… at my father's request."

Amity and Mabel suddenly felt very uncomfortable. "What… what did he erase?" Mabel asked her.

"When I was younger, I fell off one of my ponies and broke my arm," she explained, more tears leaking from her eyes. "At least… that's what I thought happened. In reality, my father lost his temper and-" She sniffed, couldn't put it into words, but Amity and Mabel realized what she meant, both were shocked and horrified. "He was afraid that word would get out, so to uphold the Northwest reputation, he had the memories of me and everyone else who knew erased!" She sniffed, visibly shaken. "That's why I'm so afraid of him…"

"Oh god… Pacifica, I'm so sorry!" Mabel went to hug her. Amity did the same for her.

"Even my mother wouldn't go that far," Amity admitted. "My grandparents on the other hand…" She shook her head. "He had no right to do that to you, Pacifica."

"I… don't think I'm capable of standing up to him…" Pacifica said while Mabel had her look at her.

"Pacifica, in the time that I've known you, you are one of the bravest girls I've ever met," Mabel told her. "Don't tell you've forgotten how we fought off those little golfball people and defeated the Blind Eye Society." Mabel felt her gloved hand where her scar was. "And you helped me through a lot, so now it's my turn."

The blonde Northwest girl sniffed, while wiping her tears. "Dummy… you've already helped me a lot. But… thank you." She took a deep breath. "I… I have to do what my family should've done a long time ago." She stood up. "I have to open the gates!"

"Yeah, it's not too late!" Mabel declared.

"IT'S TOO LATE!"

Hearing Archibald's voice, the trio rushed back into the main hall, gasping as they saw everyone in the room turned into wooden statues, including Gus, who had a horrified look. This causes the girls to scream as lightning flashed. The hall was covered in moss, roots, and trees, like an indoor forest.

"You are all wood!" Archibald declared.

Mabel had a determined look as she rushed forward. "Mabel, wait!" Pacifica cried out as Amity chased after her.

"Alright ghost," Mabel said as she stepped onto the table, holding the journal and a silver platter. "It's time to bust you-" The journal was zapped away and then she was zapped by Archibald. "AAH! No wait!" she cried while watching herself get turned to wood, starting with her feet and moving up her dress and body. "No, no, WAAAAHH this is actually painfuulll!" she cried before she was completely turned into a wooden statue.

"Mabel!" Amity shrieked as she glared at Archibald. "You bastard!"

Archibald clapped his hands to send a shockwave to knock Amity back, hitting a tree post. Archibald floated towards her. "Time to rest in your wooden tomb…" Amity shut her eyes as Archibald was about to turn her into a wooden statue…

CRASH!

Hearing the crash, they looked up and saw someone coming in through the ceiling, landing on a table. Amity gasped when she saw who it was.

"Alright! It's party crashing-o-clock!" declared Luz Clawthorne in her cambion form. "Hello, Northwest Mansion, hope you don't mind me crashing…" She looked around at the indoor forest full of wooden people. "What the fuck happened here?!"

"Luz!" Amity cried out as she rushed towards her.

"Amity?!" Luz turned to her girlfriend. But the reunion was prevented when Archibald flew in front of her.

"You wish to join their fates?!" he declared.

"I don't know what the hell's going on, but you better change them back!" Luz declared as she flew up to shoot light spells at him. Archibald blocked them with his ax before swinging it at her but Luz flew behind him. Archibald summoned the vines to ensnare Luz, but she avoided them. "Come on, I ain't afraid of no ghost!" she declared. "I've always wanted to say that."

Amity was picked up by Sam as she looked at Pacifica "Pacifica, you know what to do…"

Pacifica looked at the lever for the gates, then back at the ghost. "Hey, ugly!" Pacifica called out the ghost. "Over here!" Archibald turned to her, looking away from Luz. "You want me to let in the townsfolk? 'Cause I'll do it! Just change everyone back!"

"You wish to prove yourself? Pull that lever and open the grand gate to the town! Fulfill your ancestors' promise!" Archibald declared.

"Wait, you didn't rhyme this time!" Amity pointed out and Archibald just shrugged.

As Pacifica was about to pull the lever, an underground hatch rose up close to her, revealing her parents and Chapman. "Pacifica Elise Northwest!" her father declared. "Stop this instant! We can't let the town see us like this! We have a reputation to uphold! Now come into the panic room. There's enough mini-sandwiches and oxygen to last you, me, and the butler a full week!" His voice became a whisper. "We'll eat the butler…"

"Don't listen to him, Pacifica! Unlike you, he's nothing but a coward!" Amity shouted while Luz kept Archibald busy.

Pacifica looked at the wooden statues of Mabel, her brother, and her friends. She started to reach for the lever when her father rang the bell.

"You dare disobey us!?" Preston shouted while ringing the bell, making his daughter hesitate. He continued to ring it, but Pacifica would not pull her arm away from the lever. "Dingally dingally! Is this bell broken?"

It was then that Pacifica, with a look of anger and determination, put her foot down. "Our family is broken!" she declared. "And I'm gonna fix it!" She grabbed the lever and then pulled it down.

Archibald stops fighting as well as Luz, the ghost gasping in shock.

Outside, the gates started to open, which meant all of the citizens of Gravity Falls would be let inside.

"Git it! Git it!" Tyler Cutebiker declared as everyone went through the gates.

Archibald looked out the window and saw the citizens rushing towards the manor. "Yes… yes, it's happening!" He held his chest. "My heart, once hard as oak, now grows soft like more of a… birch, or something."

The main hall returned to normal, along with the guests. Vee, Eve, Dipper, Candy, Grenda, Gus, and Mabel were all returned back to normal as they gasped for air.

"You did it, Pacifica, you did it!" Amity shouted.

"Yeah! Hurray for Paz!" Mabel cheered.

"Pacifica, you are not like the other Northwests. I feel… lumber justice," Archibald said as he rose up toward a bright light, his body fading except for the ax in his head, which fell to the floor.

Pacifica Northwest smiled, proud at what she had done to help everyone, including Archibald. It was then she heard a rumble and she got out of the way as the townspeople of Gravity Falls came bursting through the front doors for the party.

Vee saw Blubs along with Lazy Susan and Tyler at the food table, eating all they could get. "Blubs! You and Durland made it?!" Vee asked.

"Yeah, though we didn't expect the Northwests to actually let us in!" Blubs says while seeing how much food she was holding. "Better get a bucket, we're taking it back!"

Vee smiled. "You know it!"

Manly Dan jumped into the apple cider fountain, while Durland and several other townsfolk helped themselves to the cider. Gompers suddenly appeared, chewing on a curtain. Robbie and Tambry were texting at a table while McGucket did a dance on a table. Preston, who came out of the hatch, looked in shock and horror.

"Good lord, the riff raff! They're everywhere!" he cried out. He spotted Tyler picking up the oyster fork and putting it down at the wrong angle. "That's not how the fork should be placed!" He then Luz Clawthorne, back in her normal form, hugging her girlfriend. "You! Clawthorne!"

Luz turned to Preston. "Hey, Preston, glad to see little ol' me?" she asked, seeing Preston marching towards her. "Oh, you wanna go?"

"Luz," said Amity as she stopped her. "Let me handle him," she said while marching up to Preston.

"Oh, it's you, want do you want now-"

"Quiet, you worm!" Amity told him off. "You're even less of a man than you think you are, because I know what you did, and you have a lot of nerve to do something that despicable to your own daughter." She glared at him, causing Preston to step back.

"I… I don't know what you mean-"

"Listen up, you manchild," she sassed at him. "The Blind Eye Society is not here to protect your secrets anymore." She levitated his bell away from him. "If I hear about anymore 'pony incidents', you'll have to answer to me." She crushed the bell completely while her eyes glowed pink. "This bell would be you…"

"What… what are you…?!" Preston demanded, backing away.

"A Goodfellow," Amity said with a grin as her face took on a more ghoulish appearance. "Bleh!"

"WAAAH!" Preston screamed as he ran off from the party and headed back to his hatch. Amity grinned as she dispelled her illusion.

"Now that is hot," Luz said to her girlfriend, wrapping her arm around her waist and giving Amity a kiss. Amity shut her eyes while kissing Luz back. "I missed you so much…"

"Me too!" Amity embraced Luz as she embraced back. "How's Kay?"

"She's doing good, Raine and Kitsuni are watching over her," Luz replied.

"That's nice- wait, Raine?!" Amity cried out. "You found them?"

"I'll explain later," Luz told her. "By the way, I really like what you did with your hair!"

"Thanks, I had some new friends do it, one of them is part-mermaid," Amity explained.

"Okay, you have got to tell me about what you have been up to over the last week," Luz said.

"LUZ!"

She turned to be embraced by Dipper and Mabel. She happily hugged them back. "Dips! Mabel! Haha! I missed you two so much!"

"We missed you too!" Mabel cried.

"We… we didn't know when you'll be-!" Dipper said as tears ran from his face while Gus also ran up.

"Luz, you're here!" Gus said as he also hugged Luz. "It is so good to see you again!"

"Same, G-Man!" Luz said before she saw Eve. "Eve, you're here too! Fantastic!"

"Hi Luz…" Eve waved to her before she broke down and ran over to cry onto her shoulder. "Waaah, they said you'd come and get us and now you're actually here!"

Luz gave Eve a pat on the back. "Hey, don't worry, I'll get you home, your friends are worried sick about you."

Eve sniffed. "Really? That's great… the first part, not the second part."

The Vee and Wendy showed up. "Luz, you finally made it!" Wendy ran up, having come to the party. "Just in time for the party!"

"How have you been, Luz?" Vee asked.

"Have we met?" a confused Luz asked, not recognizing Vee.

"It's Vee," she replied, causing Luz's eyes to widen.

"Vee!" Luz shouted in realization. "Oh my Titan, you look great!"

"W-wow, thanks," Vee said, looking a little bashful. "It is good to see you again, Luz."

"Yeah, you too!" Luz said before remembering something. "By the way, Tres and Megan wanted me to tell you that they're alright. And Ivy is alive as well!"

"They are? Thank Titan, they are!" Vee said as she sighed in relief.

Luz was smiling as she looked at all of her friends, only for her smile to vanish when she realized there was one person that she didn't see. "Wait, I… don't see Willow."

"Willow's not here," Gus admitted. "Neither me or Amity have seen her."

"Gus got here first while I got here second," Amity explained. "Eve was already here."

"Didn't you give her the instructions you gave to us?" Gus asked.

Luz looked worried. "I was able to see her, but she was unconscious. I'm not sure where she is…"

"Hey, look at me," Amity said, holding her hand. "You managed to find us, so I know that we'll somehow find Willow too. She is out there. She has to be."

"Yeah," Luz said, nodding. "Also, I didn't come here alone. Eda, King, Lilith, and Camila are waiting for us back at the Shack. Once Stan explained where you guys were, I volunteered to fly over to get you guys." She held up the portal key. "And we got here with my new portal door of course."

"Whoa, that is spectacular!" Gus cheered.

"We're going home!" Eve shouted. "Finally, I can go back to my beetle-made bed!"

"And this means you get to visit more!" Mabel realized.

"Yeah, thank Matt for helping me build it," Luz mentioned, which surprised Gus.

"Matt helped you? Whoa… I really owe that guy a solid," Gus commented.

Amity cleared her throat. "So uh, can me and Luz have a moment alone together?"

"Yeah/Of course/Totally," they all said as they walked away from Luz and Amity, leaving them be. "So who wants to go to the snack bar?" Vee suggested.

Luz and Amity went to find a spot where they could be alone together and talk privately.

"So, what's on your mind?" Luz asked her, while holding her hand.

Amity sighed. "Luz… I think Puck may be alive," she admitted. "Eve said that the one who stranded her here looked a lot like Puck… I think he may be the one who stranded us here…"

Luz hesitated briefly before she answered. "Actually, you're right," Luz confirmed, shocking Amity. "It is Puck… turns out, he reformed after he died. Apparently that is a Fae thing."

"He… he really is alive…" Amity covered her mouth, tears streaming from her eyes.

Luz wrapped her arms around her girlfriend, bringing her close to her. "He's back… but the reason he stranded you was he was under the Inner Demon's influence at the time. When he came back, the Inner Demon got in his head and possessed him. All the things that happened like Skara's kidnapping, Darius's death, Raine's disappearance, and Boscha's paralysis were his doing while the Inner Demon was using him. He is free now… but he wanted me to tell you that he's sorry."

Amity wiped her tears. "Honestly, I don't know how to feel about this right now. He's done so much for me and I owe him a great deal… there's also the fact that the deal we've made…"

"What deal?" Luz asked her.

"When he promised to help me save you and your family, I think he may have accidentally made me part-Fae," Amity explained. Sam appeared from her feet. "Meet Sam, my shadow. Short for Shadow Amity."

"Oh, that's nice, hello Sam," Luz said as the shadow waved at her. She didn't even look bothered by it. "Honestly, it's no weirder than what's happening to me. I'm a human-cambion, you're a witch-fae… our lives just keep getting weirdly interesting. Right Maya?"

"Hey, Amity," Maya spoke. "Glad you're not dead."

"Yeah, me too, Maya," Amity replied, smiling.

"Found you," said a voice.

Amity turned around and looked alarmed when she saw Aurore there. "Duchess… I don't want any trouble…"

"Forget it," Aurore said while holding an ice pack where Mabel hit her head. She winced. "My head hurts too much from whatever hit me. And by the way, my name's just Aurore, Duchess is a title."

"Who is she?" Luz asked Amity.

"Someone who has a problem with Faes," Amity replied.

"You must be her girlfriend," Aurore said looking at Luz. "Let me give you some advice on dating Faes… they're nothing but trouble. You'll only get hurt when you're around her."

Luz gave Aurore a blank state before she replied. "I don't even know who the fuck you are, but I don't care. So get your intolerant, prissy little ass out if you know what's good for you," she said while flipping Aurore off. "Fae or not, Amity's my tesoro."

Aurore glared at Luz before scoffing. "Whatever," she said while turning to Amity. "You better hope I don't see you again, Amity," she said while turning and walking away.

"Should we be worried?" Luz asked.

Amity shook her head. "I don't think so, besides how she's gonna hurt me when I'm in another realm?"

Luz smiled while squeezing Amity's hand. "Amity, there's something I've been meaning to say to you for a while and want to say, now that we are together again… I love you," she said.

Amity broke into a huge smile, more tears falling down her face. "I love you too," she admitted as the two wrapped their arms around each other and kissed.

And despite everything else they had to worry about… for a moment, all of that was forgotten.

Meanwhile, Dipper noticed Candy by herself. Looking ashamed of himself, he decided to walk up to her to apologize.

"Candy," he spoke.

"What do you want?" she muttered, which made Dipper wince.

"Look, about what happened earlier," Dipper said. "I'm so sorry for the way I acted, I was a jerk to not just Marius, but you as well. I-I don't even know what came over me. Like if I was left out or… I don't know. I have no excuse."

Candy sighed. "It's alright, I forgive you, Dipper. Besides, I've already lost my chance with Marius."

She pointed to Grenda flirting with Marius with… her own brand of flirting.

"Something on your shirt," she said as she tapped on his shirt, then raised her finger to flip his nose. "Gotcha!"

"Ohohoho, I really, really enjoy this game!" Marius clapped his hands. "And I really like you, Grenda! Would you like to have mein number!"

"I don't have a phone! Write it on my face!" Grenda told while Marius wrote his number on her forehead.

"Huh, looks like Grenda's got her prince charming," Dipper commented.

"Yeah, and so does Mabel," Candy replied while seeing Mabel with Pacifica. "Everyone's got somebody these days."

"Yeah, I hear ya," Dipper nodded while noticing Candy. "I um… like what you did with yourself. Like with your hair and your dress…"

"Yeah, you look good too," Candy said while looking at him.

The two preteens looked at one another for a moment too long before looking away awkwardly, Dipper rubbing the back of his head while Candy rubbed her arm.

"Well, it's uh, a lovely night," Dipper commented.

"Ye-heah, it is!" Candy replied awkwardly while both of them hid their own blushes.

Mabel and Pacifica, meanwhile, were both dancing together.

"So… tonight I was planning on asking you out," Mabel admitted. "So in light of everything that happened… Paz, would you like to be my girlfriend?"

"I would like that," Paz admitted. "Though I'd probably have to keep it a secret from my parents…"

"Hey, forbidden loves are the most exciting kind of love," Mabel pointed out. "Besides, I honestly don't think I am ready to tell my folks either…" She sighed and looked down at their hands as they held them. "Is this weird, by the way?"

Pacifica looked down as well. "If it is weird… then it's the good kind," Paz decided. She smiled. "And I think I would rather be weird with you than normal without."

Mabel giggled. "What would you say if I said I was in love with you?" Mabel asked her with a smile.

"I'd say you only wanted me for my money," Pacifica said with a smirk.

"Oh Pacifica, your heart is gold enough to last me a lifetime!" Mabel playfully replied, making Pacifica snicker.

"Shhhh, stop!" she said as Mabel pecked her on the cheek, making Pacifica smile and blush.

"Thanks for saving me, by the way," Mabel told her. "I always thought my brave, shining knight would be a prince… but a princess is much cuter."

Pacifica smiled back. "You have no idea how happy I am to hear you say that."

Rejoining the others, Luz was surprised to see Mabel and Paz together. "Whoa… how much have I missed since I last came here?"

"Oh, not much," Amity replied, smiling that the two girls are together. "I'm happy for them."

"Honestly, me too," Luz replied with a smile. "They do look pretty cute together."

"What do you think their ship name would be?" Gus asked as he walked up to Luz and Amity. "Mabifica? Pabel? Pacifibel?"

"I can see a bright future for those two," Eve nodded.

Luz then saw Robbie with Tambry, shocked to see them together and linking arms. "Wait, when did Robbie get back… and when did he and Tambry hook up?"

"Excuse me babe, I'm gonna hang my coat in the closet," Tambry told Robbie as he left him for a minute. As she found the closet, she heard arguing in there.

"I don't have it."

"Yes you do, it was in your purse."

Tambry opened the closet to see Powers and Trigger arguing, having lost their disguises.

"Oh, so I'm just supposed to hold on to everything for you?" Trigger complained.

"I asked you when we were in the car!" Powers argued back.

"Why do we always have to fight at parties?!" Triggers complained before they both noticed Tambry standing there.

"...I'm not even gonna ask," she said as she shut the door.

While everyone was enjoying the party, McGucket walked up to Dipper and the others. "Woo! Scoobiddy doo! Hornswaggle m' goat knees!"

"Whoa-ho, what's up, McGucket?" Dipper asked, only for McGucket to grab him by the shoulders and go somewhere private to speak.

"What's McGucket doing with Dipper!?" Luz asked.

"Don't worry, the great author of Azura is our friend," Amity explained.

"Yeah, McGucket turns out to have a dark backstory," Mabel added.

"Hold up, hold up," Luz paused, while turning to Amity. "He's the author of what?!"

"Seriously, what's a Scooby-Doo?!" Eve wondered out loud.

"Dipper! I've been lookin' for ya!" McGucket said once they were alone. "I fixed the laptop, I've been doin' my calculations, and I think something terrible is a comin'! The apocalypse! The End Times!"

"End times?" Dipper asked, looking serious. "I need to get to the others."

Dipper managed to get Mabel, Luz, Amity, Gus, Eve, Pacifica, Candy, Grenda, Vee, and Wendy to hear McGucket out as he showed them a laptop with a countdown as the screen read 'IMMINENT THREAT'.

"Something big's about to happen in less than twenty-four hours," he said, which made the others concerned. "Whatever it is, I fear it may cause a catastraphible!"

"This looks serious…" Gus noted.

"If this is the end of the world, we need to warn the adults at the Shack about this," Luz said.

"Yeah, agreed," Dipper replied. "Other than me, Mabel, McGucket, Luz, Amity, Gus, and Eve, the rest of you should go be with your families for the time being. But be on standby."

"Yeah, I'll stay with Blubs and Durland, and they can help take Candy and Grenda home," Vee offered.

"And I'll get my dad and brothers as well," Wendy nodded.

"I'll stay here," Pacifica said while Amity turned to her.

"Are you sure, Pacifica?" Amity asked her.

"I'll be fine, my dad's gonna be in that panic room for a while after you scared him good," she said while giving Amity a nod. "And… thank you, Amity. It was really cool, what you did for me. Honestly, you're kinda like the big sister I never had."

Amity nodded to Pacifica. "Good luck."

It was then Mabel noticed something on the wall. "Hey Paz… what's with that evil looking tapestry?"

"Huh? Oh that," Pacifica replied, looking at the tapestry of people bowing before a triangle with one eye that was floating in the sky while the world burned and the ground was covered in skeletons. "Yeah, my family hoards local Native American art and I think this is one of them." She then noticed Mabel freezing up. "Mabel…?"

"Mabel… are you okay?" Luz asked her in concern.

Mabel turned to Luz, shaken after seeing the tapestry. "Luz… when was the last time you spoke to Bill?"

"About… shortly after Amity was sent to this realm," Luz replied while Amity comforted Mabel.

"It's okay, Mabel," Amity said to her. "Explain to her what you explained to us… if it's too hard, you don't-"

"She needs to know how Bill hurt me," Mabel said as she removed her glove, showing Luz her scar. This caused Luz to gasp.

"Titan… Mabel, I'm so sorry…" Luz knelt down, hugging the girl. "If I had realized how crazy Bill was-"

"It's not your fault," Mabel assured her. "Let's just go home, I think I'm partied out."

Luz nodded and they began to leave. However, she looked back at the tapestry one last time, narrowing her eyes as she wondered if it had any connection to Bill and the imminent threat that McGucket said was coming…

The Reunion Falls intro was created by Crosshot, as to give an interesting treat to have an intro to place in the chapter.

"Tell Me, Tell Me" is a song from the Scooby-Doo, Where Are You soundtrack, from the Werewolf episode.

Aurore, the new OC introduced in the chapter, was thought out and was intended to appear much later in Luz Clawthorne, like in Book 3. But then we realized she would actually fit in with the guests at the Northwest party, considering it's full of rich dukes, sultans and other royalties around the world. So we've decided to introduce her here.

And yeah, we know that in this series we've redeemed Odalia unlike in canon… but Preston is still a piece of shit.

Okay, so here are some reviews to answer:

Ultimate-drax: Glad you like.

Guest1: Um… obviously the Saltstars since they're her closest family to live.

Matteso585: 1) Even if they did, you'd think they'd go through Rick's defenses? It's probably Fae-proof. 2) Kadabe will probably return somewhere. 3) Faust isn't really worth the kill. 4) As proof of this chapter, it hasn't.

Crosshot: Belos won't be learning about the key Luz now has. Also if you look back to "Ballad of Eda" and "Turning Point", which shows how Eda got assaulted, and one memory shows her contemplating suicide. Also Queen Mab is from the Romeo and Juliet poem. And yeah, we can confirm that Mel is based off of Mal…

Shuffollower: Well your theory's right… and yeah, Mel is based off of Mal from Descendants.

Franco Almiron: Boscha's gonna stay with the Saltstars. And yeah, we know not to share leaks. And yes, it was a reference to Ballad of Eda Part 1.

The OC contest is still underway, so remember to submit your OCs to appear in LC.

Oh, and did you think that the chapter was over?

Don't go just yet, because now we have the real ending to get to…

After the party was over, the trio of Blubs, Durland and Vee returned home.

"Alright, that party was a blast!" Durland declared.

"It really is with you three," Blubs said to Durland and Vee. "Now why don't we tuck in for the night?"

"Good idea," Vee replied with a yawn. "Good night, guys."

"Good night, Vee!" Durland said while Vee walked to her room.

Once she was in her room, alone, she flicked on the lights. Then her eyes widened when she saw someone there, waiting for her.

"Hmm? Oh, hello creature," said the man known as Michael. He sat up from her head and walked over to her.

"Blubs! Durland! Someone's in the-AAAAH!" Vee cried out as Michael whipped out a taser and used it on her. This triggered her PTSD as she screamed.

"Vee, are you alright!?" Blubs and Durland cried out as they rushed to the door to see what was happening. Almost immediately, Blubs tackled Michael and slammed him into the wall. "You! Get away from her!"

"Hey, relax, sheriff," Michael said with a sadistic smile. He held up a badge. "I'm just here to take in this little monster here…"

"What are you-" Durland asked before he and Blubs saw Vee starting to shift right in front of the two cops who had taken her in.

"Nonononononoooo…" she winced, back in her Basilisk form.

"V-Vee…" Blubs said, letting Michael go in his shock.

"I know, this must be a lot to take in," Michael said with mock-sympathy. "The cute orphan girl you brought into your home turns out to be an inhuman monster." He then tapped his earpiece. "Hey, Director Gatesy! Guess what? I caught the monster~! Ain't that swell!?" He looked down at the barely conscious Vee, looking suddenly serious. "Yeah, I'll make sure she's delivered..."

At the Mystery Shack, Lilith sat on the couch as Stan and Eda explained things to her.

"So… if I'm getting this right," Lilith said, looking at Stan. "You're Ford's twin brother, but using his name to keep his home up."

"Yeah, that's the gist of it," Stan confirmed.

"And you married him," Lilith told Eda. "So… if he used his brother's name on the marriage certificate, wouldn't that actually make you Ford's wife, Eda?"

"Meh, that's just paper," Eda waved it off. "You're taking this well…"

"I'm still processing this," Lilith admitted while sipping a cup of hot cocoa.

"So you have seen my brother in the Boiling Isles?" Stan asked while Lilith nodded in confirmation. "That means… he could be alright somewhere."

"Yeah," Eda replied while looking at Stan. "Listen, Stan, I think you need to tell the kids the whole truth now. It's better if they know, trust me."

"I… I guess I could tell them…" Stan replied. "With the portal working now."

Eda gave a concerned look. "Actually, you may have to shut it down."

Stan looked shocked at his ex. "What?! Why would I do that?"

"Stan, if Lilith saw your brother in the Boiling Isles, he could be anywhere now if he is even still alive and there's no guarantee that he will be on the other side of the portal when you open it," Eda told him. "And I don't think you have any idea what's on the other side of that portal, it could be dangerous."

"Eda, I can't!" Stan argued. "Thirty years, I've spent thirty years trying to get my brother back, and I can't let it all be for nothing!"

"Stanley," Lilith said as she got up. "I've wasted thirty years of my life working for a mad man I thought would cure Eda, but despite that I'm trying to make it so that my life won't be in vain now. Your brother… I don't think he intends to come back."

"But I have to get him back!" Stan told them. "He's my brother, and… I never got the chance to-"

"We're back!"

The three heard the kids, and McGucket, showing up outside "Amity!" Camila and King said as they rushed outside to hug Amity, who hugged them back. "We're so glad to see you, mija!" Camila told her.

"Yeah… me and Kay really miss you!" King declared.

"I've missed you guys too!" Amity said with tears in her eyes as she saw Eda and Lilith come outside with Stan.

"Amity…" Eda smiled happily while Lilith awkwardly looked away as Amity came running over, expecting Amity to embrace her sister and not her. But to Lilith's shock, Amity hugged them both.

"Amity… are you…?" Lilith asked.

"I'm just so happy to see you again," Amity replied while in tears.

"Well skiddly-doo, it's a reunion!" McGucket cheered while noticing Camila. "Say um, you don't appear to have a shadow."

Eda then knelt down to hug Dipper and Mabel, as Dipper noticed Lilith. "Who's that?"

"Well, meet your Aunt Lily," Eda introduced while Lilith waved to them.

"Nice to meet Eda's stepson," Eda replied.

"Wow, you must be Eda's younger sister," Mabel commented.

"YOUNGER?!" Eda exclaimed as Eve walked over to her.

"Um… hey, Ms. Owl Lady, I'm Eve," Eve said, waving to her.

"Huh? Oh yeah, you're that missing girl Luz mentioned," Eda said. "Glad that you're alright."

"Thanks," Eve replied with a nod. "So… when can I go home?"

"Gus/King!" the two said as they bumped fist with each other.

"Glad you're alright, man!" King said.

"Same to you too, little guy," Gus replied as they pointed finger guns at each other.

"AAH, King!" Mabel went to hug King. "I missed you so much!"

"Not again…" King cried out as he was squeezed.

Gus smiled, while Eda walked towards him. "Good to see you're alive and well, Gus," she said, affectionately rustling his head.

"Thanks, Eda," Gus told her.

"Where's Willow? I don't see her here," Eda realized.

Gus sighed. "About that…"

While Gus explained it to Eda, Star stepped out of the Shack and was noticed by Amity, who brought Luz over to her.

"Oh, Luz, I want you to meet Star," Amity introduced. "She is originally from a realm called Mewni. I met her before coming to Gravity Falls… and we ended up fighting mechanical creatures that are similar to the ones Hunter described in his vision."

"Really?" Luz asked in shock, turning to Star. "So those mechanical creatures are real?"

"Yeah," Star replied, looking down. "And they destroyed my home. So I agreed to tag along with your girlfriend here to prevent what happened to Mewni from happening anywhere else and avenge my world."

Luz blinked, taken aback by this. "Well, I think you could help us figure out what we're dealing with," she said. "Maybe you can talk to Hunter. Right now, he's currently staying with my Aunt Lilith and her parents."

"So when we get back, we should have a nice long talk with Hunter and Star," Amity suggested, which made Luz look down awkwardly. "What?"

"It's um… complicated with me and Hunter right now." Luz admitted before realizing something. "Wait, is that cat Palisman still with ya? Ghost?"

"Yeah, she should be in the Shack," Amity confirmed. "Why?"

"I really need to talk to your cat," Luz told her as they entered the Shack to look for Ghost.

"Ghost? Ghost!" Amity called out for Ghost. "Don't tell me she's out harassing Acorn again…"

"Acorn?" Luz asked her.

"A pixie that I befriended," she explained. "Kind of a foul mouth… but why do you want to talk to Ghost?"

"It's a long story," Luz said. "A long story that you probably need to sit down to hear…"

"Wait, what about the threat McGucket thinks is imminent?" Amity asked.

"Oh, right! We should get to that," Luz replied as the two headed back outside to join the others when they heard a crashing sound.

"Ghost?" Amity said, looking around until she saw a can on the ground nearby. And something was coming out of it.

Realizing what it is, Luz grabbed Amity. "Gas!" she shouted as more cans were thrown around them, creating a cloud of gas that covered the Mystery Shack and everyone around it. Before they could do anything to stop it, Luz and Amity fell unconscious.

Eda and Lilith started to fall, along with Stan who wobbled around as he fell. Gus, Dipper, Mabel, McGucket, and Eve all began to cough until they passed out as well, along with Camila and King. Star looked around in a panic as she raised her hand up, but her body started to feel weak, and eventually, she passed out as well.

And so, everyone was passed out from the knock-out gas. Appearing before them were Powers and Triggers, who were wearing gas masks, along with their men in black.

"Targets are secure," Trigger confirmed. "Take the house!"

The night sky became filled with lights as helicopters flew overhead. Men in black swung down from the helicopters on ropes, crashing through the various windows and doors, their voices heard over the radio.

"Attic is clear!"

"Gift ship is clear!"

"Pig secure - we have secured a pig."

"Excellent work, everyone," Powers said as they set up a perimeter. Trigger was seen grabbing the laptop from the unconscious McGucket. "Now we can-"

The two men were interrupted by the sound of approaching vehicles. They turned to see several vans pulling up and out of them came armored men. On both the vans and the armor was an A symbol with a halo and wings.

"At ease, gentleman," said a female voice.

Stepping out of one van was a white suited woman with dark hair and tanned skin.

"What is the meaning of this?" Powers asked while the woman showed him her ID.

"I am Director Gates, Agent Powers," she introduced herself. "The Archangels will take it from here."

"Archangels…" Powers's eyes widened. "That's what-"

"Department A calls themselves? Yes, that's correct," Gates responded. "Since magic users are our jurisdiction, they're all coming with us."

"You know about them, sir?" Triggers asked Powers.

"Yeah," Powers nodded while looking at the armored men. "Well, I've only heard about these guys."

Gates walked over to the unconscious witches and humans. She looked down at Luz and spotted the portal key hanging from her neck. She knelt down and grabbed the key from her, lifting it up. "Finally…" she said before she felt someone grabbing her leg. Looking down, Gates saw that it was the barely conscious Eda.

"Let… go… of that… key…" Eda said while looking up at Gates… and seeing her orange eyes.

Eda's own eyes widened. "...Angel?"

The woman responded by kicking Eda in the face, knocking her out. Director Angelica Sinclair-Gates then turned to her men and snapped orders at them. "Alright, load everyone up! We're shipping them to Purgatory!"

She glanced down at Eda again, then shook her head and walked away. She had work to do.

Hey, BuckJohnson here.

I'm sure right now you're all thinking one thing: WHAT?! Angel is Director Gates!? WHY?! How?!

All reasonable questions and I am here to break it down for you.

First of all, this was ALWAYS me and JP's plan. We never intended for Abigail to be Director Gates. It was always going to be Angel.

When we created Director Gates during the development of Book One, we had already decided that her full name was Angelica Sinclair-Gates (with her having married into the Gates family), even though we hadn't revealed that or the name of her organization (Archangels) just yet. However, at that point we hadn't decided on giving Eda a personal history with Angel and the inspiration for Director Gates was actually Dr. Emilia from Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts. We created her to add an Earth antagonist to the story and to have someone who represents a modern witch hunter (as a reminder, this was long before it was revealed that Philip was a witch hunter).

Then during the writing of Book Two, things started to change. Specifically, right after we finished writing Chapter 53 (on March 28th of last year), I had an idea. Since we hadn't done much with Director Gates so far and it would still be a while before the Human Realm arc, which was when she would become relevant, I figured that a good way to give her more weight as an antagonist and subtly build her up would be with flashbacks that go both into her backstory and Eda's. It was then that it was decided Angel and Eda were once friends and that during the flashbacks showing their friendship, we would show that the Gates family had two siblings: a boy and a girl, with the readers being led to believe that the girl is the future Director Gates. So unlike Mel, who wasn't created to be a red herring but we realized during the writing for Chapter 74 that she could be used as a red herring prior to the Puck reveal, Abigail was always a red herring and a separate character from Director Gates. This was also the reason Abigail and Angel looked similar enough for the Owl Beast to mistake Angel for Abigail, because

And while in our initial idea Eda only attacked Angel instead of killing her, me and JP realized that the best way to convince readers that Abigail was Director Gates and not have them suspect Angel was if we actually unambiguously killed Angel on-screen while having Abigail swear revenge. And Angel DID die, but we decided to kill her in the flashbacks because me and JP realized that we had also introduced a way to explain how Angel came back. But despite being created as a red herring, we did decide to flesh out Abigail more, establishing that she was friends with Camila and Luz's godmother to make readers think that we were setting up a confrontation between Luz and her witch-hunting godmother while hiding the REAL twist.

Of course, me and JP both realized that this was one twist that we did not want ruined, which meant that I did have to intentionally mislead our TV tropes editor Crosshot, who directly asked me if Abigail was the future Director Gates. I asked him who else it could be and then edited the characters page to make it seem like Abigail and Director Gates were the same person in order to not ruin the twist for him. Him and Archive reader Jack_Skeletron_4ever did begin to catch on that Abigail was not the one in charge, with Jack suspecting that Abigail's father, brother (who he thought might have feigned his death), or ancestor was the one in charge. And I'm glad they began to suspect that something was up, because me and JP intentionally started to drop clues that Abigail couldn't be Director Gates by showing how broken and traumatized the grown up Abigail actually is, even mentioning that she once attempted to take her own life.

When both Camila, Clara, and Nora argued that Abigail wasn't a witch hunter, they were actually right. Abigail isn't a witch hunter like Eda, Luz, Willow, and the readers assumed. She is incapable of both being a witch hunter and being Director Gates. Despite her vow to hunt Eda down, the flashbacks to her time with the Huntsclan deliberately show how she was unable to follow through on that promise because of her own trauma. And she was definitely not fit to run an organization in the present day, with Clara even mentioning that "most days she can barely get out of bed", which was meant to be a clue that Abigail couldn't have crossed the country to visit Frakes in California near the beginning of Book Two. Clara would certainly notice if her mother had to regularly take business trips across the country or out of town, especially since Department A's activities had shifted to the Pacific Northwest in order to monitor Gravity Falls with only a few agents left in Gatesfield, but instead she suggests that Abigail struggles to leave the house.

Also, when Camila asked Jacob Hopkins about Abigail's sister, he said that a wild animal "mauled one of them in front of the other". And when Camila asked Luz about the article, she mentioned the article saying that she "maimed a girl". Note that neither Jacob or the article mentioned that the girl attacked was killed. Masha even admits that "the details were always vague, like they were covering something up". And that's because not only were they covering up that it was a witch that attacked Angel, they were also covering up the fact that Angel was killed by said witch, and when Abigail kept insisting that Angel had been killed despite the fact that everyone else could see that Angel was alive and well, it led to everyone thinking that Abigail was crazy. However, Abigail knew what she saw and when she told Camila she had seen things, she was referring to a dead girl being seemingly brought back to life after that girl had been killed right in front of her. Another piece of foreshadowing was the reveal in "Escape from Gatesfield" that Joseph Gates had married before his death. His wife was Angel, with Joseph being her way into the Gates family. After his death, she succeeded him as Director Gates. And while Abigail was dressed in a white suit (just like how Director Gates wears a white suit) while visiting the graves of her brother and Manny Noceda, earlier in the chapter Clara mentioned that she sometimes saw her mother with Joseph's stuff, so in that scene it was her brother's suit that Abigail was wearing. Also, Angel's grave wasn't shown in that scene… because she didn't have a grave.

Finally, there is another character that Angel is a reference to… Helga Sinclair from Atlantis: The Lost Empire, which is the reason why Angel's last name is Sinclair. And in a 2020 interview, Lost Empire director Kirk Wise revealed that a true sequel called Atlantis: Shards of Chaos had been planned out at one point. It would have introduced a new villain who was described as "wearing big, scary, wool, bulky, World War I-style clothing with a frightening gas mask" and the twist would have been that this new villain was actually Helga Sinclair who survived her fall at the end of the first film and was brought back as an "early-20th-century cyborg." The parallels between this and Angel are obvious.

Next chapter will clarify even more, but first I wanted to take some time here to reassure the readers that this wasn't some random twist that me and JP threw after changing our minds about the identity of Director Gates at the last second. This isn't like the case with Monarch's identity in the comic Armageddon 2001. We always planned on Angel being Director Gates. This twist does and will make sense.

But you'll learn more soon enough…
