Chapter 87: A Tale of Two Palismen

17th Century Earth.

Inside the cabin there were two boys. One was a tall blonde teenager with brown eyes wearing a white shirt and raggedy overalls with boots. The other was a brown haired boy with blue eyes wearing a white button shirt, brown pants and shoes. Their names were… Caleb and Philip.

"I can't believe… they're gone," the young boy, Philip, said while in tears. "I miss them."

"Hey now, don't cry." replied Caleb, the older brother, who tried to calm him down. "Things will be alright. I promise."

"But who will take care of us now?" Philip asked. "Nobody will take us in… we're just… alone now."

"We still have each other, don't we?" Caleb said calmly, patting his brother's shoulder. "Nothing's gonna harm you… not while I'm around," he sang. "Nothing's gonna harm you… No, sir, Not while I'm around~!"

He grabbed a blanket, wrapping it around Philip like it was a cape. "Demons will charm you with a smile, for a while~!" As he sang, Philip started to feel better. "But in time…! Nothing can harm you…"

"Not while I'm… around~!" the two brothers sang together as they hugged each other. Philip shed one last tear as he held his brother in comfort.

"Caleb… I don't think I want to leave," Philip admitted.

"Well, just think of it like having an adventure," Caleb suggested.

"I just… wish that we had a new family…" Philip said with all his heart.

Knock-knock-knock

The two brothers heard knocking on the door. "Stay here," Caleb advised his brother. He walked up to the window, looking to see who was outside. When he saw that it was an old man, he cautiously opened the door.. "Greetings, how may we help you?"

"I wish for shelter from the cold night, if that would not be too much of a burden," the old man requested, his eyes hidden by the darkness of the hood as Caleb let him in.

"Of course, sir," Caleb responded, helping the old man. "Though we don't have much to offer you, our parents passed away recently and they left us with very little," he admitted while Philip looked at the old man with a shy but curious look.

"Oh, that's tragic," the old man said sympathetically. "Losing your parents at such a young age… it must be hard on you two."

"It is…" Philip replied with a nod.

"So what do you two plan to do about it?" the old man asked them.

"Well, we don't plan to stay here. Instead, we hope to try our luck in one of the towns around here, like Gravesfield," Caleb explained.

"Hmm… perhaps I can suggest something, since what you boys really need… is a new family," the old man offered, which caused the two boys to perk up.

"Another family?" Philip asked with interest.

"I have heard of this nice couple that are willing to adopt some children and take care of them," the old man explained, smiling at Philip. "I'm sure that they'll love to meet you two…"

The Boiling Isles, Deadwardian-Era.

A couple were in the woods carving Palismen, still coping with the loss of their own children. They then heard footsteps, as well as crying.

"Do you hear that, Jocelyn?" asked the husband, who had brown hair, pale skin with green eyes, and a gray cloak.

"Yes, Damuel," said Jocelyn, who had spiky orange hair with pinkish skin, golden eyes, and a blue gown. "It sounds like… crying!"

The two quickly followed the crying until they found two brothers, the older one trying to calm down his younger sibling, who was crying while wrapped in his blanket.

"Excuse me," Damuel spoke up. "Are you boys lost?"

The younger brother looked up at the two, shrinking away in fear while the older brother held him protectively. The two looked very dirty and very scared. "We… we're lost," the older brother admitted.

"You poor things," Jocelyn said while looking at the two. "I've never seen you two around… and for that matter, your ears… where did you come from?"

"We… don't know!" Caleb admitted. "We have no idea how we got here, or where here even is…" He looked at his brother, then back up at the two. "We don't even remember our own names!"

Philip covered his own ears. "What's wrong with our ears?" he asked them, while noticing the two adults having pointy ears.

"Well… we've never seen someone with ears like yours before," Jocelyn admitted. "But regardless… we aren't going to leave you here in the woods to fend for yourselves."

"Of course," Damuel said as they began to guide the brothers. "Come with us, we live in a cottage around here."

"Thank you, good sir and ma'am," the now nameless Caleb nodded while Jocelyn noticed the name on Philip's blanket.

"That blanket says Philip… is that your name?" she asked him.

Philip looked at his blanket. "I… I don't know…"

Present Day, the Boiling Isles.

Outside the Owl House, demon birds sat peacefully on the trees…

"WHAT?!"

The birds flew off in a panic.

"There's… there's no way…" Willow had to adjust her glasses in shock.

"B-Belos… he… eh?!" Gus was stammering.

"Are you… serious?" Amity's eyes widened while her jaws dropped to the floor.

"Wawawawhat?!" Eve was stammering madly, as this piece of news was too much for her.

Ghost, just as shocked, looked down. "It can't be… Philip..."

Star looked around in confusion. "I don't… am I missing something?"

"It's true," Luz confirmed. "Belos turns out to actually be… Philip, who turns out to be an adopted Clawthorne."

"This is insane," Gus said from the spot on the floor where he had fallen. "So is Belos like, your great-granddad or something? This is big news…"

"Yes, big news that can't leave this house," Luz told them. "I know it's a lot to take in, but for now this is another secret we can't risk getting leaked. Cause if Belos knows that you guys know of his true identity… you'll probably turn up dead."

"Well that's reassuring…" King said sarcastically.

"So then, I really can't tell my friends about it," Eve said while slumping on the couch. "One mystery that I can't share with them…"

"It's for the greater good, Eve," Willow said, patting her shoulder. "But if it makes you feel better, maybe you can unmask Belos."

"Actually, Belos already removed his mask during Coven Day," Luz pointed out. "Like, as a way to win back the people's trust in him."

"Of course he would…" Amity said while Luz turned to her.

"Oh, and there's something you should know, Ams," Luz told her. "You know the Sword of Adam? Well, during the time travel adventure, I met Adam Blight himself."

"He's a Blight?!" Amity asked in shock.

"And Ghost was his Palisman." Luz pointed to the cat Palisman, shocking Amity as well.

"She is?!" Amity exclaimed while turning to Ghost. "Why didn't you tell me about all of this earlier? Even back at the Human Realm?!"

Ghost looked down, "It's not something I like to talk about, and I didn't think you needed to know at the time. I would have probably told you eventually when I was ready, like when I got confirmation that you could use the Sword… but it seems like the choice of telling you is no longer mine."

"So what did she say?" Gus asked.

"She didn't like talking about her previous holder and she didn't want to tell me until she was sure," Amity responded. "But I understand this must be hard for you, Ghost."

"Even if it's hard, Ghost needs to tell us everything she knows about Philip Clawthorne," Luz said, only for Ghost to glare at her with a hiss.

"Ghost, calm down." Amity patted her Palisman. "Sorry, Ghost says you're… not her favorite person right now…"

"Oh…" Luz realized. "Right, because of what happened to Maya…"

"Actually, I don't think I've told her about what really happened to Maya," Amity realized as well, which got Ghost to turn to her.

"What? What do you mean?" Ghost asked her.

"She means I'm still kickin, Lazy," Maya spoke, which spooked Ghost.

"Lazy? The only one who calls me that is…" Ghost looked at Luz, seeing her eyes. "Maya… is that you?"

"Hey, Ghost." Maya waved to the Palisman.

"But… how?" Ghost asked.

"It turns out that Maya's soul was still inside of Luz's body," Amity explained to her. "Since we learned about that, they've been sharing a body."

Ghost looked unsure. "I don't know… she still reminds me of Philip."

"Well, do you trust me?" Amity asked her.

"I do," Ghost admitted.

"Then how's this, you can only tell me while I help translate for everyone," Amity suggested, which Ghost thought about before she ultimately nodded. Amity turned to everyone. "Alright, Ghost agrees to tell us about Philip Clawthorne, while I help translate."

"Well, at least we have a cat whisperer around here," Eda said, clasping her hands.

"Oh boy, story time!" Hooty declared while hacking out a pellet. "Anyone want some snacks?"

The pellet cracked open, revealing Acorn inside. "I am no one's snack!"

"Oh my gosh, we're really going to learn more about this, are we?" Eve asked in excitement.

"We're going to get a lot of lore out of this, right Gus?" Willow turned to him, who looked less enthusiastic "Gus?"

"Oh, yeah," Gus nodded. "Learning more about Belos could help us a lot."

"I couldn't agree more."

Everyone turned to see Raine Whispers coming from the basement.

"RAINE WHISPERS?!" Willow, Gus, and Eve exclaimed.

"Raine!" Eda rushed up to them. "I thought you were supposed to hide, even with the guests here…"

"It can't be helped," Raine responded. "I can't miss this chance to learn more about Belos's past, could help clue me in about his true plans."

"We missed out on a lot, haven't we?" Willow asked.

"Mx. Whispers is here…" Eve didn't know how to react "I thought you were dead."

"Kitsuni found them up at the Knee," Luz explained. "It turns out that Puck, who was possessed by the Inner Demon at the time, kidnapped them and kept them up there."

"I was investigating Amity's disappearance when I found them," Kitsuni said as she got up. "Well, now that everyone's here, I should make my leave. I have to attend a parole hearing, but I promise we'll touch base later… and to look into Philip Clawthorne myself." She then took notice of Star. "You… you wouldn't perhaps be from Mewni, would you?"

"Uh yeah," Star said with a nod. "How can you tell?"

"I can read your auras, and… I have heard about what happened to your home realm," Kitsuni told her. "You have my condolences."

Star looked down. "Thanks… it's been hard."

"I have encountered another survivor, if he would interest you," Kitsuni told her. "He is a magical being named Rhombulus."

"Rhombulus?" Star asked, looking unhappy. "If you see him, don't tell him about me. He can't be trusted!"

"I know," Kitsuni said, nodding in agreement. "This parole hearing I'm going to is because of information that he has kept from me and my colleagues. But if you want, we could talk later."

Star looked at the fox yokai. "I'll… think about it."

Kitsuni nodded before she turned to Amity next "I almost forgot... how are you feeling right now, Amity?" she asked her.

Amity looked at the fox yokai in confusion. "I'm… fine," she said, looking at the yokai's eyes and realizing they were staring at her shadow. It was then Amity realized that Kitsuni already knew. "How did you know?"

Kitsuni sighed. "Sly told me," she admitted. "However you use this information is up to you."

"What is she talking about, Amity?" Willow asked.

Amity looked around at everyone and sighed. "For those who don't already know... I recently learned that I am part-Fae."

This came as a shock to everyone besides Luz and Gus. "Part-Fae? How did that happen?" Willow asked in concern.

"I made a deal with one, Puck Goodfellow, to save Luz and her family," Amity admitted. "A side effect of that deal is that I became part-Fae. But I didn't know about it until my time in the Human Realm. I also have a living shadow now, I named them Sam." She gestured to Sam, who rose up while waving to the others.

Willow waved back to Sam, smiling at them. "Nice to meet you, Sam," she said before looking back at Willow. "This is definitely a surprise, but it doesn't change how I think of you, since you're still Amity."

"You know, I honestly already figured it out back at Gravity Falls," Eve commented. "I did see your living shadow and I sensed that aura was different. But I'm okay with this."

"Yeah, we have your back, Amity," Gus said with a nod.

"It does explain how you can use your powers without drawing spell circles," Lilith recalled. "I don't know how we could explain this to your family, but we should make sure the Emperor's Coven doesn't know."

"She's right," Raine agreed. "We'd place Amity in danger if Belos learns of her status."

"I'll know who to tell when I'm sure and ready," Amity replied, "Probably my siblings. Alador's out of the question and Odalia… I'm not sure."

"Take as much time as you need," Camila told her, patting Amity's shoulder.

"Yeah," Eda said with a nod. "Fae or Witch, you're still you."

"And we wouldn't have you any other way!" King declared.

Amity smiled at everyone. "Thanks, guys, really. I appreciate it."

"Well everyone seems to be happy, especially now that Pucky's alive!" Hooty said while looking down sadly. "Though he didn't come to see me…"

After Kitsuni left, Ghost was reminded of something. "Wait, at the Knee… I wonder if Flapjack knew about Philip being Belos and didn't tell me."

"Who's Flapjack?" Amity asked.

"You already met him," Ghost pointed out. "The cardinal?"

Amity's eyes widened. "Wait, you mean Hunter's Palisman?!"

"Yes," Ghost said in confirmation. "Flapjack was created by Philip's brother."

"I remember Hunter's Palisman, he helped save him, me and Boscha from Glandus's detention," Gus recalled after Amity translated that information for them.

"Palismen can be very long lived, maybe he knows some answers as well," Eda suggested.

"I can go retrieve him so he can also tell us what we need to know," Lilith said as she turned Edgar into a staff. "I'll be right back!"

"I didn't miss anything, did I?" Kitsuni asked as she arrived at the headquarters of the Order.

"You just made it," Forseti told her.

"Looks like Genie's prepared," Kebechet pointed out, seeing that Genie was wearing a helmet and body armor.

"What's up with the extra protection?" Merlin questioned him.

"Well you can't be too sure, you know?" Genie replied, making Yen Sid roll his eyes.

Everyone took their seats and watched as a portal was opened on the floor at the center of the room. Rising up was a crystallized prison with Eclipsa Butterfly's silhouette inside.

"Alright, Rhombulus, free Eclipsa from her imprisonment," Yen Sid commanded Rhombulus, who had a guard with him.

"Do I have to?" Rhombulus asked. "Who knows how dangerous she is now! You can't be sure if she'll wipe the whole court out!" he declared while the guard growled at him, making him whimper.

"Then perhaps you can just give her a way to communicate with us for her hearing," Merlin suggested.

"I can do that…" Rhombulus said as he raised his snake hands up to his head. "But Eclipsa's been crystallized for hundreds of years, even I have no idea what's gonna happen when we open this up."

"We can take her," Persephone told him,

Rhombulus sighed as he used his crystallized head to shoot a beam that melted the area where Eclipsa's head and shoulders were. Once that part of her is freed, Rhombulus was escorted away from her.

"Eclipsa, can you hear us?" Yen Sid asked.

The green-haired Mewman woman looked up, her vision starting to clear. She took a deep gasp, breathing fresh air before her head fell down again.

"Is she dead?" one of the Order members asked.

Genie went to check up on her. "No, she's alive, I think she is just suffering from oxygen deprivation."

"Make sense, I'm surprised she was able to survive in that thing to begin with," Scrooge said.

"Be… fore…" she managed to speak.

"Before?" Genie asked.

"What does she mean by that?" Kitsuni asked.

"Be… fore… be… fore…" Eclipsa raised her head up, shifting her eyes toward something.

Genie looked in that direction and spotted a vending machine. "Oh… B-4, no worries, she just wants candy everyone!"

And so Genie went to get her the candy she wanted and when he brought it back, she reached to grab it, revealing the dark, purple vein on her arm. This got everyone on the defensive, even while she still ate the candy bar.

"Mmm, this is so good," Eclipsa said while looking around. "Say, where am I and… how long have I been frozen?"

"Since you were first imprisoned, more than three hundred years have passed, Eclipsa."

Eclipsa coughed before she continued to eat her candy bar. "That's so long… why am I here? And who are you cosmic-looking folks?"

"We are the Order," Yen Sid explained to her. "As for why you're here, this is a tribunal of your parole hearing so we can determine if you should have the right to be free from your imprisonment."

Eclipsa looked around, spotting Rhombulus with the guards. "Is the rest of the Magic High Commission around?" she asked.

"Um… well, they're… defunct," Rhombulus awkwardly admitted while looking down.

"Defunct? Then what's happening about Mewni? Last person who I remember was in charge was Moon Butterfly," Eclipsa mentioned as everyone else fell silent, which she noticed. "What? What happened to her?" she asked. "What happened to Mewni?" The silence continued, which made her realize something was up. "I see…"

Lilith came back to the Owl House, Flapjack on her shoulder. "I'm back with Flapjack."

"That's great, now we can-" Luz paused as she saw someone else coming in behind her. "Oh… he's here…"

Hunter stepped into the Owl House and immediately spotted Amity, Gus, and Willow "You guys are back!" he said while looking overjoyed, but then he saw the looks on their faces. None of them looked happy to see him. "Uh… hi…" he said nervously.

"What is he doing here?!" Gus questioned, which made Hunter uneasy. "We can't trust him!"

"Yeah, let's tie him up so he won't escape!" King suggested. "Even beat him with clubs!"

"What?!" Hunter exclaimed.

"Everyone, enough!" Lilith stood by Hunter's side. "No one is beating anyone with clubs… Look, I know that no one's a fan of him being here right now, but bringing him here was my choice. I came for Flapjack, but the only one who underwood him is Hunter, he can translate for us. Furthermore, he's a part of this too, so anything that Flapjack reveals will affect him too."

"Wait, who is he?" Eve asked.

"Hunter is the Golden Guard," Gus explained to her.

"WHAT?!" Eve exclaimed. "Hold up, you guys know he's the Golden Guard?!"

"Was the Golden Guard," Hunter clarified. "After some… complications, the Emperor's Coven's got a new Golden Guard." He then noticed Raine. "Raine?! You're here too?!"

"Hello, Hunter," Raine said awkwardly with a wave.

Hunter then noticed Star. "Is… is that another human?" he asked, noting her ears.

"Not exactly," Star replied dryly.

"Wait, is that a robot arm?" Willow pointed in concern, seeing Hunter's new arm.

This caused both Luz and Hunter to look away.

"I… don't like talking about it," Hunter said while rubbing his own arm.

"Yes, he was the Golden Guard," Lilith said while patting Hunter's shoulder. "But he is also a victim of Belos's manipulation. He lied to him and kept the truth from him, so if I want him to trust me, I can't follow the same pattern by keeping important information from him. So he needs to be here."

Everyone shared a look. While they still didn't like the idea of Hunter being involved, they reluctantly accepted it.

"Alright, I guess he can stay," Gus said.

"But don't expect us to like it," King said, crossing his arms.

It was then that Camila re-entered the room "Okay, I found something from the snack cabinet, which of you like these… choco-lice? Wait, is this cereal?" she asked while noticing Hunter there. "Oh, I didn't know we'd have guests."

"This is… Hunter, Ma," Luz explained.

"Oh, that friend of yours who… planted that bug in the house…" Camila turned to Hunter, who hid his face as he sat beside Lilith.

"Yeah, he's kind of a creepo," King said.

"I am not!" Hunter shouted at him. "Look, I still don't know what this is about, I don't know why I'm here anyway since no one wants me around."

"Well, you're involved anyway," Eda told him. "And you do have the right to know who your uncle really is."

"I already know that he was human, what else is there to reveal?" Hunter asked, noticing Eda's missing eye. "What happened to your eye?"

Eda paused for the moment. "I… don't want to talk about it."

"Did Belos tell you that he's a Clawthorne?" Raine asked, which made Hunter's eyes widen.

"W...What?!" Hunter exclaimed in shock. "N...No, that's… that can't be true!"

"It is, Hunter," Luz told him, "His real human name is Philip Clawthorne."

"You're lying! You can't expect me to believe that!" Hunter declared, but then Flapjack chirped to him. "What… Flapjack what are you-" His widened when Flapjack confirmed it. "You… knew? What… why didn't you tell me?"

"Probably the same reason Ghost didn't tell me about her previous holder," Amity explained. "Ghost mentioned that Flapjack was carved by Belos's brother."

"His brother…" Hunter realized as he looked at Flapjack. "You were… Sir William's Palisman, were you? My… father's."

"Is everyone done talking?" Ghost asked Amity, getting impatient. "I want to begin telling my life story."

"Oh, right," Amity replied while turning to everyone "Okay, if everyone's done, Ghost is ready to tell me what she knows about Philip."

"Thank you," Ghost said once everyone had fallen silent. She cleared her throat while Amity prepared to translate for her. "Now then…"

It all started with a young boy and his father, who helped carved a cat Palisman out of the Palistrom wood. This young boy was Adam Blight and his father was Abra Blight.

"Hello, Ghost," he said to her when she opened her eyes for the first time. He tried to reach for her. "My name is Adam."

But rather than bonding with him right away, Ghost hissed and backed away from him before she took off running. "Ghost, come back!" he cried while she ran and found a place to hide. "Ghost! You don't have to be afraid!" Adam said while his father comforted him.

"It's alright, Adam," Abra said "She's just spooked, that's all."

"I… I still want to be able to bond with her, Papa," Adam replied, spotting her under the dresser where she hid. He knelt down while looking at her, "Hey, it's okay. I didn't mean to spook you," he calmly said. "I just want to be friends with you, that's all."

"At the time, I didn't know how to react. I was pretty much a newborn. But Adam, even though I feared him, never gave up on me."

And so, Adam began trying to appease Ghost by offering her food. She accepted a plate of fish, but when Adam tried to pet her, she swatted his hand which made him wince.

The next day, Ghost sat on Adam's chair, which Adam let her do. He decided to sit on the floor, sitting like Ghost does. When Abra came in he spotted what his son was doing. "Adam, why are you sitting on the floor?"

"I'm trying to earn Ghost's trust by letting her take my seat," Adam replied. "I figured that I'd be the cat instead." This made Abra chuckle while Ghost just rolled her eyes.

Adam tried to create a friend for Ghost, an Abomi-dog that he conjured. The Abomi-dog looked up to Ghost, who looked at it back. Not long afterward Ghost kicked the Abomi-dog off the table and it splattered on the ground.

"Eventually, I decided to go easy on him."

Ghost walked through the house as she saw Adam offering her food. Looking at the food, the cat Palisman looked up at the boy's pleading eyes. Once Ghost ate her food, she sensed Adam reaching out his hand toward her, wanting to give her a light pet. Ghost allowed it, which surprised Adam when he realized that she was not scratching him this time.

"Slowly, I began to get used to the witchling."

Adam made a cat door for Ghost, "Here, this way you can come in and out whenever you like." he told her. But Ghost only turned away.

Ghost, being her usual cat self, jumped up from the couch to the top of Adam's head while catching a fly. Adam saw she was about to fall and when she did Adam caught her…

Adam, covered in bandages, saw Ghost on top of the cupboard. "Come on, Ghost, come down!"

"But it still took me some time to completely trust him. Then one night…"

Ghost walked into Adam's room, spotting the boy who was asleep. The cat Palisman climbed up onto the bed, sleeping at the end of the bed.

"Hey Ghost," Adam spoke sleepily, which caught the cat Palisman's attention. "If you decide to sleep elsewhere, that's fine. I won't force you to bond until you are ready, but… you meant so much to me in carving you. Do you want to know what my greatest desire was?" he asked, which piqued Ghost's curiosity. "To make something meaningful," he said. which surprised Ghost.

The next morning, Adam woke up to find Ghost sleeping beside him. Smiling proudly, he petted his Palisman. "Good morning, Ghost."

"And it was then that I knew for sure that Adam Blight was my witch."

Adam and Ghost were eating breakfast together. After that, Adam tapped Ghost's head and she formed his staff. Adam headed out after his father rustled his head.

At a park, Ghost was walking on the fence while Adam walked beside her, eating a slab of meat sandwich. Ghost jumped onto his shoulder and Adam shared with her his sandwich which she took a bite out of.

Later Adam rode on his staff, practicing his flying ability. He landed right in front of Abra, who looked at his boy and his Palisman. He patted them both. "You two look like you've had fun."

"We sure did, Papa!" Adam declared while hugging Ghost. "Ghost is the best companion I could ask for!"

Ghost smiled, as she nudged her head against her witch, who laughed.

"Adam and I, oh we were the best of friends. He was quite special for a witch at that time… but then he came into our lives…"

In ye old Bonesborough Library, Adam was about to check out some books when he accidentally bumped into another boy who was more focused on his book.

"Oof! Sorry," spoke Philip Clawthorne.

"It's fine," Adam reassured him as he noticed Philip's ears. "Say, aren't you one of the human boys that the Clawthornes adopted?"

"Indeed, I am," Philip replied while spotting Ghost. "Wow, is that your Palisman? Such fine craftsmanship. Did you make her yourself?"

"I did, with my father's help," Adam confirmed. "Do you have a Palisman yourself?"

"Unfortunately, no." Philip admitted. "I never had much luck in that area. Neither carving a Palisman nor bonding with one, despite my best efforts." He looked at his own hands. "I just… don't have the hands of a woodworker, not like my brother."

Adam hummed. "Let me see your hands," he said as he grasped Philip's hands.

Philip became flustered. "Uh… um, very well," he said as he let Adam look into his hands. It made Philip blush slightly while Adam looked at his palms to his fingers.

"Hmm, interesting," Adam said. "You may not have the hands of a wood carver… but your hands are more of a writer."

Philip's eyes widened. "Ay, you're correct! Are you some kind of… guesser, of these kinds of things?"

"You could say that," Adam nodded. "My name is Adam."

"And my name is Philip," Philip responded, extending his hand. "It is a pleasure to meet you, Adam."

"Same to you, Philip." Adam replied as he shook Philip's hand.

"And that's how Adam meets Philip… who would go on to ruin both of our lives."

And so, Adam and Philip became fast friends, learning that they just clicked well with one another. They would hang out at the library or in other locations around Bonesborough.

They skipped rocks down at Lake Lacuda, the rocks being eaten by the sea monsters. The two skipped more to see who can skip the farthest, but each time the sea monsters kept eating their stones.

Next, Philip was shown with his sketchbook, doing a drawing of Ghost. The cat Palisman posed for Philip as he sketched her while Adam sat by and watched.

At one point, Philip led Adam to his family home. Knocking on the door, Damuel appears. "Ah, Philip, just in time for dinner," he said while noticing Adam. "And who's this young lad?"

"This is Adam Blight, father," Philip said as Adam and Ghost took a bow. "And his Palisman is Ghost."

"Good tidings, sir," Adam greeted as he and Ghost were invited in.

"My family will take a liking to you," Philip whispered as he saw his mom, his brother, and his baby sister. "Mother, William, Marilyn, come meet Adam!"

"Hmm? Oh, good tidings," Jocelyn greeted while holding the toddler Marilyn, a young baby girl in an orange onesie.

"Yeah, good tidings, Adam," William said while noticing Ghost. "Is that your Palisman?"

"Yeah, her name's Ghost," Adam said while noticing the red cardinal Palisman on William's shoulder. "And that is your Palisman as well?"

"Oh yes," William confirmed. "Meet my trusted companion, Flapjack." Flapjack, who still had both eyes, flew down to meet Ghost.

"And that's how I met Flapjack, through Philip and meeting his brother."

As Flapjack and Ghost played around each other, Adam and Philip were in Philip's room where Philip showed Adam something.

"So this one time I was looking through a lantern and I noticed a symbol," he explained as he drew the symbol on a piece of paper. He tapped it and Adam watched as the paper crumbled into a ball of light.

"Wow…" Adam said in awe. "What do you call it?"

"I call it pictoglyphs," Philip replied. "I've even shown my brother how to do them. It's how we are able to do magic. Though, right now I only know how to do light spells."

"Hmm, you think there are other symbols around the Isles like this?" Adam suggested.

"Perhaps," Philip said, stroking his chin. "Looks like I got some investigating to do."

Sometime later, the two boys snuck into the library at dark, Ghost accompanying them. Tonight was when the Wailing Star happened and as the two opened a book, they saw butterflies and birds coming out.

"Whoa…" Philip said in shock.

"So it is true!" Adam said in excitement. "The Wailing Star does bring anything illustrated to life!"

"Look at the butterflies!" Philip pointed at the butterflies from the book flapping up the ceiling. Ghost jumped up to try to eat one.

"Wait, wait, wait!"

Everyone turned to Camila expectantly.

"I-I'm sorry, but seeing your all-knowing evil Emperor… it's just… kinda hard to picture him as a sweet child," she admitted.

"You're not the only one, Mami," Luz told her.

"Yeah, it's hard to picture Belos as a giggling school girl like the ones you read in the slice-of-life mangas," King said as the others looked at him, disturbed.

"I didn't need to… think of it that way," Gus said.

"Now I can't sleep with that image…" Hunter said with his eye twitching.

Ghost rolled her eyes, while Amity noticed. "Can we continue?" she asked as everyone fell silent. "Okay, now as Ghost was saying, when Adam got older, he began planning on making a weapon…"

"Alright," Adam, now as an older teenager, said as he finished drawing up some blueprints. "It's time to create my first abomi-weapon, Ghost. All we need is iron, abomi-goo, and something to make it more powerful, and as a fail safe."

"Meow (But how do we find something that strong)?" Ghost asked.

"Well, the Titan has a lot of tombs full of dangerous and powerful artifacts," Adam pointed out. "Perhaps we will find what we are looking for in one of them."

"And so, we along with Philip looked for the materials to make his sword…"

Adam and Philip shopped around the marketplace, where they found metal materials, along with a stash of swords and weaponry. Philip also found a map.

"The Emerald Eye is said to be one of the most powerful gemstones in the Boiling Isles," Philip read. "It is said that it is as powerful as a Galderstone, and rumor has it that it could be alive… similar to the philosopher stones."

"Alive, eh?" Adam asked. "According to this, it's located in a tomb just outside of Bonesborough, but it is also said to guarded by a creature."

"Looks like we're gonna need some help."

"And help they got, from an old bounty guild called… Ye Old Bounty Guild."

They looked inside the place, filled with the toughest and most ruthless witches around. Adam and Philip looked at each other.

"You think we'll regret this?" Adam asked.

"Well, chances are one of them will end up backstabbing us, but that just comes with the territory," Philip noted as he and Adam stepped inside. "Greetings, good witches! My partner and I are in need of your services…"

And so, they hired the guides that accompanied them on a search for the Emerald Eye. Among them were Bendy Gabor, a yellow furred imp demon with a crooked smile, Barracuda the Scheming horned witch, Sapito the Sap who was a dark-skinned witch with three eyes, and a short, orange and black striped werecat known as Monsieur Boots, who wore a black sun hat and a pair of magical boots, with a Palisman that doubled as a sword at his helm.

"After hiring them, we all went down to the tomb. This tomb is known as… The Hexing Tunnels. They were right over where the Hexside school was eventually built."

Philip and Adam lead their group into the entrance of the tunnels. Philip held the map while Adam used light magic to help them see. As they headed down the pathway, Monsieur Boots got up front.

"Wait a second, my friends," he spoke with a Hispanic-sounding accent. He summoned a plant from the ground, which grew a hard fruit. He threw the fruit on the floor, triggering a spike. "Better use of our magic to avoid them."

Using plant magic, they climbed across the ceiling with vines. Adam and Ghost were up front, Philip behind him, and behind him in order were Boots, Barracuda, Sapito, and Bendy. Bendy used his magic to make sure Sapito missed a vine, which caused the unfortunate guide to fall down.

"AAAH!" Sapito cried as he landed on the floor. Everyone looked away to avoid seeing him get penetrated by the spikes on the floor. Bendy chuckled as he climbed ahead.

Ghost whispered to Adam who nodded in agreement. "Yeah, I have a bad feeling about Bendy."

And they continued to another tunnel, Philip checked the map. "According to the map, this part of the tunnels is where the Gray Carnivants reside. Whatever we do, we shouldn't step on one of their hills." They saw some small hills on the path, which should be easy to avoid.

"Well, let's avoid them then," Adam said as the group avoided stepping on the small hills. However, Bendy saw some Gray Carnivants marching up a hill.

"This is what we're worrying about? Stupid ants," he said as he kicked a hill.

"You idiot!" Barracuda called out while the Carnivants looked angrily up at Bendy. "Run!"

They ran to the end of the tunnel, with Bendy following them. However, the Carnivants ganged up around him, grabbing him with their surprisingly strong limbs as they all engulfed Bendy.

"No! No! Wait! Help meeeeee!" Bendy cried out as his yellow furry hand reached out to the group, but the Carnivants engulfed his hand as they all piled up on him.

"Dear Titan…" Adam said in shock as they witnessed Bendy's demise before the Carnivants went back to the ground.

"These Carnivants… they're very hungry," Boots remarked.

Moving along, the group entered the catacombs where they saw a bright, shiny green gemstone. It was the Emerald Eye, placed floating in mid air between two tunnels.

"Looks like we found the emerald," Adam said.

"Yeah, we did." Barracuda said with a grin as he drew blades in front of the three. "Nobody move!"

"Well it's not like we saw this coming," Philip said as he, Adam, and Boots froze.

"Should've known by your reputation that you'd betray us!" Adam pointed out.

"Hahaha! You are all fools!" Barracuda said as he walked towards the Emerald Eye. "With this Emerald Eye, I shall be set for life! And you three will be dead!" They then heard a loud growling noise.

"What was that?!" Philip exclaimed as Boots pointed up.

"Look!" he shouted as they saw a large, dark gray serpent with a skeletal head, a dark bushy mane, and eyes on its underbelly. It gave a roar at the intruders as it climbed on the ceiling.

"I think that's the guardian!" Philip realized.

Barracuda looked up and aimed his knives towards the guardian. "Stay back! Stay back!" he cried as the guardian screeched at him. It launched its head and bit him in half.

"That thing doesn't appear to be friendly," Adam said while turning Ghost into a staff to defend himself with. Philip brought out some glyph paper he had with him, while Boots marched up with his sword out.

"Do not fear, for I, Monsieur Boots, shall slay the beast!" Boots declared as he charged at the creature with a yell… only to be struck by its tail, knocking his boots off.

Adam and Philip winced as they dodged an attack from the creature. Adam summoned some Abominations from the ground, ordering them to attack the creature. Philip summoned plant glyphs to entrap the creature's tail, but it swatted them away and proved to be too strong. Hence why this creature was made to guard the eye. It tried to attack Adam, but Philip ran up to shove him aside, which got him to get hit to the wall by the creature.

"Philip!" Adam shouted while glaring at the creature. "You bastard!" He summoned more abominations, having them attack the creature while using fire magic as well.

Philip was slumped against the wall. He groaned and felt his bones hurting. "Ugh… how can…" His vision blurred as he saw Adam fighting against the creature. "Adam…" he said as he started to pass out.

"And that's when we witnessed something unexpected…"

Philip's now reptilian eyes widened. His skin started turning dark green with scales, which Adam noticed. His eyes widened as Philip transformed into a monstrous creature, unknowingly losing his locket in the process.

"Philip…?" Adam said in shock as he saw Philip spreading out wings, long claws and talons, and horns with a long tail.

"ROOAAAARRR!" Philip roared as he was in his cambion form, drawing the attention of the guardian.

The guardian roared back as it launched itself towards Philip. The now cambion Philip flew up to the creature and grabbed its neck, pinning it down. The guardian growled as it used its tail to try to grab the green cambion, but Philip managed to grab it from behind. A feral Philip then bit the tail of the creature. The creature screamed as Philip started punching down on its eyes, drawing blood.

Adam looks shocked to see Philip in this state. "Intriguing…" he said as he backed away, not getting in Philip's way as he handled the creature. He watched as Philip punched down on the creature's neck repeatedly before grabbing its skeletal head and tearing it away, which is when Adam knew he had to intervene. "Philip, stop!" he shouted.

Philip heard Adam's voice and he turned to see him. He started to growl, not recognizing him as Adam didn't move.

"Easy there, Philip… it's me, Adam… your friend," Adam said calmly, holding his hands up while Philip crawled towards him with a growl. "Don't you remember how we met at the library, when we were boys?" he asked as Philip slowly crawled towards him. "It's me, we're okay…"

Seeing that Philip was still in this state, Adam decided to try to get him to jog his memory. He picked up a light glyph from the floor, showing it to him. "Look, see?" he asked, tapping the glyph in front of him and turning it into a ball of light.

This caused Philip to pause as he stared at the ball of light. He started… remembering the glyph. He started to recognize Adam's voice. "Are you okay, Philip?" Adam asked him.

With that seeing the glyph and hearing Adam's voice, Philip started to turn back to normal. His reptilian eyes changed back to his blue eyes, his scales returning to his normal skin.

"W-W-What just…?!" Philip looked around while covering himself. "Adam… what happened?!"

"It's alright, Philip," Adam said as he went to hug him.

Philip was scared as he hugged Adam back. "I… I have no idea what just happened! Did I…" He released Adam from the hug and turned to the dead guardian. "Did I… do that?"

Adam sighed, patting Philip's back. "Yes you did. And I am just in the dark as you, Philip. But I promise with all my heart that I will help you with this… new development."

Philip sniffed, wiping away his frightened tears. "Thank you, Adam."

"And so, after acquiring the Emerald Eye and discovering Philip's new cambion state, Adam now had the materials to form a sword to defend the Boiling Isles with…. the Sword of Adam!"

At the workshop, Adam had blacksmithed the sword, molding it, hammering it, mixing it with his Abomination slime, and placing the Emerald Eye on the helm. Eventually, the Sword of Adam was complete.

He raised it up in the air dramatically, Adam smiling at his craftsmanship as Ghost smiled as well. The emerald eye glowed and the slime circle centered around Adam, who shuts his eyes.

"By the power of the Emerald Eye… help me protect those I hold dear!" Adam declared as the slime started to form around him into his Abomi-Knight armor.

"Adam Blight, with his sword, became known in the Isles as the Abomi-Knight. Pretty much the protector of the Boiling Isles. With his trusty Palisman by his side, we were an unstoppable team!"

"Abomi-Knight! A-AAHHH! Protector of the Demon Realm~!"

Abomi-Knight and Ghost ran throughout the Isles as they saw trouble was afoot.

"On guard!" declared a black feathered duck dressed as a musketeer in red. "Fear thy wrath for I, the Blood Pumpernickel, have challenged you to a duel!" he declared with his sword up.

"A duel?" the Abomi-Knight asked as he brought out his sword and aimed at the duck swordsman. "Bring it on, then!" he declared as the two clashed their swords at each other.

"Abomi-Knight! A-AAAAH! He'll protect every witch among us!"

The whole town passed out as a humanoid skunk demon in body armor marched through carrying a bag of snails. Jumping in front of him was the Abomi-Knight.

"Not so fast, Stripoder!" Abomi-Knight declared with his sword up.

"The Abomi-Knight! Prepare for my evil stench of defiance!" he declared as he threw his stink bomb potions at the Abomi-Knight, who jumped up doing a backflip in the air before slashing the skunk demon. "AAAH! You will pay for this!"

"Ghost!" he called forth as Ghost jumped up in the air, the Abomi-Knight shooting up his abomi-goo at her. It surrounded her and she formed into a large, abomi-cat as she ran into Stripodor, sticking him to the ground with the abomi-goo.

"Curse you, Abomi-Knight!" Stripoder cried out.

"Abomi-Knight! A-AAAHH! He's a miracle!"

A green fish demon in orange body-armor attempted to flood the town. The Abomi-Knight jumped down, summoning an abomination shield to stop the rush of water. "You're too wet behind the ears, Merchalinite!"

"No one shall stop me!" Merchalinite declared as he kept shooting at his opponent with water, only for the Abomi-Knight to blast him with enough abomi-goo to stick him to the wall.

"Abomi-Knight! A-AAAHHH! The Knight of the Abominable!"

"Adam used his sword to fight the criminal elements of old Bonesborough. But he still made time for Philip…"

Adam met up with Philip in a tea shop, where Adam was recounting his exploits as the Abomi-Knight.

"And then, there's this giant pig demon who was eating up all the food at the market!" Adam explained to Philip, who had done nothing but listen to him. "So I formed an abomi-slime to shape it like a fruit, put a fire spell on it, and threw it in his mouth! The Pigator didn't see it coming, so when he ate the ball… his mouth went a-blazin!"

Philip only stared at Adam, which he noticed. "Philip! Are you there?"

"Huh, oh!" Philip was startled, but Adam prevented him from falling.

"Whoa, easy there," Adam said, helping him. "Are you alright, Philip?"

"Huh? Oh I'm just… fine," Philip reassured him. "Why do you ask?"

"Well, you have been… acting a bit weird lately," Adam responded while looking down. "It's not… me, is it?"

"What? No, it's not, Adam. I can assure you," Philip told him, "It's just… William and I saw something recently…"

"I watched and listened to Philip tell Adam about how he and William encountered a trio of witches that could see into the future. How they showed him a vision of a future disaster."

Adam looked shocked by what Philip had told him. "Wow… you and William… saw that?"

Philip nodded. "I feel like I was shown this vision for a reason and I think I need to do something, but I don't know what…"

"Hey," Adam said, placing his hand over Philip's. "I vow to help you however I can," he reassured him, Philip blushing from the action, "Besides, you can't save the Isles alone…"

Philip gave a nod, smiling at Adam. But then the two started blushing hard, with Adam blushing even redder than Philip. But they didn't let go of each other's hands for a while…

"Soon after that, Adam and I met Philip's mentor…"

"Come on, Adam, there's someone I want you to meet," Philip said as he led Adam into his home. Sitting at the table with William was a man sipping his tea. "Adam, I'd like for you to meet… Abel Reisender!"

Abel looked up to Adam, giving him a friendly smile. "Nice to finally meet you, Adam. Philip has told me all about you."

"Hold up, hold up!"

Everyone turned to Hunter, who stood up. "Abel was around during the Deadwardian Era?!"

"What are you talking about?" Willow asked him.

"Abel… I know him," Hunter said, which confused some of the others. "For those who don't know, Abel is Kikimora's replacement as Belo's new assistant. He's in charge of the mental health for the scouts, including mine. He's been in charge ever since… the Palisman incident at Latissa." He looked away, avoiding everyone's gaze. "This doesn't make sense that he was alive back then…"

"What, is he an immortal or something?" Star asked them. "Beings that have lived that long aren't anything new around my area."

"I'm not so sure that he's just an immortal," Lilith mentioned. "When me, Luz, and Odalia used the Time Pools to travel to the Deadwardian era, Abel was there. But he wasn't just there, he knew I would be there as well. Like he was expecting me."

"This is starting to sound creepy…" Gus mentioned.

"Yeah, like Flash villain-level creepy," Luz said in agreement.

Amity heard Ghost speak and she translated. "Moving on…"

On the shores of the Isles, Adam and Philip were walking together. Ghost avoided the water while walking alongside them.

"Isn't this nice," Adam said while looking out to the Boiling Isles. "You ever wonder what lies beyond the Isles, Philip?"

"I have wondered that myself," Philip replied while looking at Adam. "Say, Adam…"

"Yes, Philip?" Adam asked, turning to him.

Philip cleared his throat. "There's something I'd like to tell you…" But then someone caught his eye. A woman with a wide-brimmed hat and an umbrella sitting nearby, enjoying the view. Adam noticed her as well.

She noticed the two. "Oh, hello there!" she greeted them with a wave. "Enjoying your stroll?"

"Of course!" Adam replied to the woman.

Philip looked at the woman, noticing her ears. "By Titan… pardon me, miss, but are you, perhaps, a human?" he asked while pointing his own ears. "Like me?"

"Oh dear, not exactly," she responded. "I'm actually a Mewman."

"Mewman?" Philip said as he saw her standing up. "I don't think I've heard of a Mewman before…"

"Oh that's because I'm not from this realm," she said as she extended her hand. "My name is Eclipsa… Eclipsa Butterfly."

"WHAT?!"

Star stood up, interrupting the story.

"Star, are you alright?" Amity asked her.

"Eclipsa… the Eclipsa Butterfly has been here?!" Star asked while looking shocked.

"Who's Eclipsa?" Luz asked her.

Star began to explain. "She's one of Mewni's previous queens and was known as the 'Queen of Darkness'. From what I've heard, she was infamous for playing with the dark arts, and she was rumored to have been sympathetic toward Monsters."

"Wait," Hunter said, standing up again. "Mewni? Are you saying you're Mewman?"

"Yeah," Star confirmed, looking at him in confusion. "What do you know about Mewni?"

"I learned about what happened to your realm from Belos and a native of Mewni named Ludo," Hunter confirmed, which shocked Star.

"What?! Holy crap, Ludo's still alive?" Star exclaimed. "I remember when I used to kick that little twerp's ass…"

"Then… is it really true that Mewni is gone?" Hunter asked, causing Star to look down sadly.

"It's true," she said while turning to Amity.

"Hunter, remember those winged creatures you claimed to have seen visions about?" Amity asked him. He nodded. "Well, me and Star had an encounter with one of them."

"I did as well," Willow confirmed. "They're definitely real…"

This caused Hunter to pale out of fear. "Dear Titan…" He slumped in his chair, rustling his hair while looking stressed out. "So it is true… those things…"

Lilith patted his back in comfort. "It's alright, Hunter."

Willow looked hesitant, but decided this was the right time to tell them. "I should mention one other thing. Back in New York, Jake helped me meet these Oracle Twins, who told me how to find you guys and get back to the Boiling Isles. But one of the twins also told me to beware of Belos's nefarious plans for me and Luz and to beware the creature with a yellow eye."

Everyone looked concerned, while Hunter's head shot up.

"Yellow-eye creature?" Hunter asked her and Willow nodded.

"Wait, what do you mean Belos has plans for you and Luz?" Gus asked.

"They wouldn't say much," Willow told them. "Jake explained that their future sights are vague, but they're always accurate."

"Now I'm more worried for both of you two…" Eda said.

"All rise!"

All members of the Order rose up as Eclipsa was there still in her crystallized entrapment. Genie was dressed as a bailiff. "The court of The Order is now in session! Your sorcerers Yen Sid, Merlin, and I, the Genie, presiding!" he declared while shifting back to his seat.

"Thank you, Genie," Yen Sid said as he cleared his throat. "We are gathered here today for the trial of Eclipsa-"

The door was kicked open as Sean showed up ."I'm sorry! I-I'm so sorry I'm late!" he cried out as he struggled through the door with a typewriter, the others watching with either confusion or amusement. "Sorry, it's just… I didn't know where to find the… typey thingy," he explained. "Usually back at the High Commission, Rhombulus just crystallized everybody, hehe, with his laser eye."

Everyone turned to Rhombulus with a glare. He attempted to avoid their gaze.

"But a real trial!" Sean said joyfully. "This is exciting!"

"That depends on where you're sitting," Eclipsa told him.

"As I was saying," Yen Sid spoke while Sean typed loudly. "We are gathered here today… on Eclipsa's…" Sean's typewriting was so loud that Yen Sid glared at Sean, who stopped as he decided to tap more quietly. "As I was saying… we shall determine once and for all whether Eclipsa has committed the evil deeds recorded in Mewni history. If found not guilty, she will be paroled, but if found guilty, the punishment will be-"

"Death!" Rhombulus declared, getting up. "Death!"

"Rhombulus, we've talked about this!" Merlin pointed to him.

"I say death!" Rhombulus declared only for Genie's head to grow large, towering over him.

"Listen up, mister!" Genie scolded him. "You better sit down and be quiet while the trial commences! One more peep out of you, and it's the corner for you, got it buster?!"

Rhombulus sat back down. "Y-Yes, sir."

"Alright, for this trial to commence, we wish to hear your side of the story, Eclipsa," Merlin explained. "While there must have been many records on Mewni… those records have been lost, but we are willing to give you the chance to explain yourself."

"Thank you, wise bearded wizard," Eclipsa responded. "So… where do I begin? I can say it all started back when I was just a little Princess. My mother was Solaria Butterfly, who was also known as the Monster Carver thanks to her actions during the Mewman-Monster war…"

"What can you tell us about your history with your mother?" Persephone asked.

"Well, we didn't see eye to eye when it came to monster negotiations," Eclipsa explained. "Despite the decline of monster retaliation, my mother still wanted the monsters exterminated rather than pursuing a peaceful resolution to cease the bloodshed. I think in the beginning she did want a peaceful solution… but after repeated failures she convinced herself that violence was the only route left to take. She devoted herself to war, experimenting on her own people and even attempting to create an annihilation spell that would have eradicated every monster in Mewni. And she expected me to continue her efforts…"

Eclipsa sighed and continued. "My mother never got me. I remember one time when I snuck out of the castle and I met my first love… Globgor. He was the first monster I ever met that wasn't tortured or dismembered or disembodied by my mother. We began to meet each other in secret, getting to know each other, talking, and sharing stories… but during the next round of negotiations with the monsters, when I snuck out again to meet him, my mother saw us. She believed Globgor had kidnapped me, so she attacked him. Fortunately, he survived and that close call didn't stop us from continuing to meet each other and eventually develop feelings for one another."

Eclipsa went on. "When I came of age, my mother passed the royal wand to me. But while I was still a teenager, my mother was killed in an ambush and I ended up inheriting the throne. I used my rule to work with Globgor to secure peace with the monsters. However, through my mother's will, I was demanded to marry this prissy, uptight Prince Shastacan of the Spiderbite Kingdom. If you ever met him, you would know why I wouldn't touch him with a ten foot scepter."

"Mhmm, tell-it, girl!" Genie said with a no while in the form of a salon customer wearing a hair-dryer helmet thing.

"But if you like Globgor more, why go through with the marriage?" Forseti questioned.

"It was a political marriage and I had to comply with my late mother's wishes. Shastacan's only interest in marriage was status, nothing else," Eclipsa explained. "At first, we gave each other space, until that pampered pork-swine wanted me to bare his children to continue the royal line. So I did what any girl would do in a situation like this… tell everyone that I'm in love with Globgor, which caused me to be dubbed the 'Queen of Darkness' as they like to call me. Branded as a traitor, I left the kingdom, moved in with Globgor, and married him at the Monster Temple. It was what I felt was best for me."

She looked into the distance, remembering the times she had with Globgor. "For a time, we were happy. We had each other and eventually we had our first child together, Meteora." Her smile fell into a frown. "But that was until Shastacan and the Magic High Commission learned about my daughter. I was forcibly separated from them and crystalized." She then turned to Rhombulus, giving him a blank stare. "And I do have a question for you, Rhombulus. My daughter, Meteoa. What. Happened. To. Her?"

Back at the Owl House, as Ghost recounted her story, Amity continued to translate. "Philip befriended the woman named Eclipsa, who was from Mewni. She was the one who ended up building the temple in the Femur Forest… called it Eclipsa's Temple…" She and Luz looked at each other. "The Eclipse Temple," they said together.

"Eclipse Temple? You mean she built that escape room place?" Eda asked.

"She built it for the fun of it apparently," Amity translated. "Philip confided in Eclipsa about his idea to unite the Human Realm with the Demon Realm. He had been both curious about his own kind and hoped that uniting the realms would be what ultimately saves the Isles from the future he had foreseen… She encouraged his ambition and so on Philip began to seek a way to travel to the Human Realm on his own. How Eclipsa got to the Isles was thanks to a pair of interdimensional scissors, but Philip learned that getting his own would be difficult because of its forger, Hekapoo."

"Yeah, that checks out," Star said, nodding to that.

Ghost meowed and Amity translated. "So instead, he decided to create his own portal door, which meant he would need Titan's Blood…"

Up at the Knee, Adam and Philip were looking for fresh Titan's blood. They were following a map to Eclipse Lake, taking the tunnels.

Upon finding Eclipse Lake, they took samples of the blue liquid within before they started to head back. But Adam stopped for a bit.

"Wait," Adam said, bringing out a pick. "Want to carve our names? Just so that future adventurers would know that we existed and that we were here."

"I don't see why not," Philip responded as the two carved their names on the walls.

But on their way back, Philip stepped on a blue shell which Adam tried to warn him about. "Philip, look out!" But he was too late. Once Philip stepped on it, a chain reaction happened as the cave they were in collapsed around them.

After they were trapped by the cave-in, Adam created a fire spell to keep them warm. Ghost was resting near the fire, while Adam and Philip sat closely together.

"Well, who knows when we'll escape from here," Philip said as he warmed his fingers.

"Here, let me help." Adam said as he summoned some Abomination goo to cover Philip's hands. "There, Abomittens."

Philip chuckled. "Thanks, Mittens," he said, causing Adam to wince slightly.

"Don't call me that," Adam said while Philip chuckled. However, Philip's smile quickly went away.

"This is my fault. If we die in this cave together it will be because I roped you into this…"

"Ay, Philip don't be like that," Adam responded. "It was my choice to be here. And I made a vow. You can't expect me to take back my vow now, can you?" He smiled while looking at the fire, then at Philip. "I did it because I wanted to… for you."

Philip's eyes shifted to Adam and he was quiet for a moment, thinking to himself. "Adam… before we met, I had no idea what I wanted to do. After all, I am a human in a world of witches and demons. I've tried to adapt, but I'm not my brother. He is content to follow in the family business and carve Palismen like my parents, because he knows what he is good for. But me… I have been trying to find my place in all of this. And even after I complete my current goals and save the Isles… what then? What do I have to look forward to when I have done everything I have set out to do?" He then turned to Adam. "And I think I've realized that it's a future with you."

"Philip," Adam said. "Are you saying…?"

"I'd like to spend my life with you, Adam Blight," Philip confessed. "I don't know if we'll survive the night or if the next, but I have wanted to say this for a very long time-"

"I have too, Philip Clawthorne!" Adam replied happily. "I've liked you for quite a while… and if these were our final moments, which I don't think they are… there is nobody I would rather spend them with!"

Ghost watched as the two cuddled even more closely, sharing a kiss by the campfire. As the two boys officially became a couple, Ghost smiled.

"Eventually, we did get out of that cave," Ghost explained as she continued. "Philip successfully made his portal door, allowing him to venture into the Human Realm."

"As part of his plan, Philip brought several humans to the Demon Realm," Amity translated. "But that was… when things began to go wrong…"

Ghost narrowed her eyes. "Philip was naïve, not realizing that the humans he met had ulterior motives. One of them was named…"

"Gabriel Gates," Amity said, which made Eda's eye widen in shock.

"Gabriel Gates… no…" Eda said. "I recognize that name."

"You mean, Gail's ancestor?" Camila asked and Eda nodded in confirmation. "I was once told that he disappeared to another world… and only now do I realize that story was true…"

Ghost continued. "While Gabriel was a witch hunter, one of the humans Philip brought had his own plans that were separate from Gabriel's… the end of Philip's dream began when several witchlings disappeared..."

A lanky, middle-aged man with pale skin and a red coat was surrounded by the knocked out bodies of witchlings, all of them being kept inside of a circle he drew. He held up a piece of parchment, squinting to see the writing.

"Nice children, sleep children…" he said with a crooked grin. "This will all be over soon enough!" He then started to speak an incantation, the leaves starting to blow around them.

"Stop!"

The middle-aged man turned around and saw Philip along with Adam in his Abomi-Knight armor and William in a golden suit of armor. "You… what do you think you're doing?!" Philip demanded. "With those children?!"

"He spoke to me…" the man responded insanely. "I heard him… do you hear him as well, Philip? William?"

"Hear who?" William asked as Adam stepped forward.

"Why are you doing this?!" Adam demanded while raising his sword. "Why did you kidnap these children?!"

The human man answered. "This world can give me what was denied to me in my old world. For you see, I've always wanted to be a god. But the one who can turn me into a god… is another god!" Lightning flashed in the sky as red mist started to spread, causing the ground around him to start to decay. "Yes! He is here!"

"We're too late!" Philip cried as he saw the children disappearing into the red mist, which manifested into something… sinister.

The red cloud formed into a bestial figure dressed in a red cloak. His head resembled the bleached skull of a deer, except it still had pieces of flesh clinging to it. And his eyes… his eyes were burning.

"Yes, it is you!" the human declared happily, laughing insanely. "I have followed your instructions! I have done as you asked! Now please, share your power with me! Make me a god!"

The Horned King looked down at the human and placed his hand on his head… causing the human's eyes to glow while his whole body vanished… leaving only mist where he once stood.

The mist began to spread and the bodies of the children could now be seen… having become wooden statues. As the mist spread, Philip backed away and spread out his wings while Adam and William flew away with their own Palismen.

"I don't remember that man's name," Ghost admitted. "But after that ritual he performed and the Forest of Fear was created… you may know him by the name he has adopted since then…"

"The Inner Demon," Amity said, which brought a shock to everyone that knew that name and had encountered him before.

Luz looked slightly uncomfortable. "The description of the figure he summoned… the night when Amity disappeared, I think I may have seen him… but I wasn't sure how real it was, since I was still a little sick at the time." She noticed how Eda, Camila, Lilith, and the others were looking at her in concern. "So, uh, what else happened?"

Ghost glared down on the floor. "The Inner Demon was Philip's fault, since he was the one who brought him here to the Boiling Isles." She then shut her eyes and Amity could hear the pain in her voice as she continued. "It was also Philip's fault for what happened next…"

Bonesborough had been set aflame. Many of its citizens were trapped by the infernos while Adam went around to rescue as many people as he can.

"Hang on!" Adam declares, flying with his staff to rescue the women and children. He helped drop them by the forest outside of town.

Coming out of the flaming city were William and Marilyn, who rode on a griffin as both tried to save as many civilians as they could. Adam turned to them.

"William, Marilyn, have either of you seen Philip?" Adam asked them.

"I think I saw him running into the woods!" Marilyn replied with worry in her voice.

"I'll go look for him-" William was stopped by Adam.

"No, you two stay to continue helping people, I'll go look for Philip!" Adam volunteered as he held his staff and flew into the woods.

In the woods, Adam flew down and looked around for Philip on foot. "Philip?!" he called out to him while Ghost scouted around as well.

"Gabriel!" Philip shouted in the distance.

Adam and Ghost followed his voice until they spotted Philip with the man known as Gabriel Gates. Adam and Ghost hid themselves while watching Philip confronting Gabriel.

"Why… why did you and your men do this?!" Philip demanded to know. "We welcomed you with open arms and you decided to burn down out town!"

Gabriel laughed. "Oh poor, delusional Philip… you really have let this world corrupt you…"

Philip looked confused. "What are you talking about?!"

"I am talking about how you have let this world corrupt your mind and make you blind to how evil this world truly is!" Gabriel declared, which made Philip's scales rise up. "And look at you! You are no longer a son of God thanks to this world! It has stripped your humanity from you, and turned you into something else, something unholy! You have even committed sins against God with that witch you have involved yourself in!" he claimed while pulling something from his coat. "But don't worry, I can still save your soul…"

Philip's eyes turned reptilian. "Try it!" he roared while tackling Gabriel, resulting in the two fighting on the ground. The two were in a brawl while Gabriel held his flintlock pistol, but Adam kept punching him. He tried getting on top of him, but Gabriel turned him over, kicking him to the ground. But Philip slashed him on the leg, causing Gabriel to wince.

"Philip!" Adam shouted, rushing to his boyfriend's aid while drawing out his sword. "Emerald Eye, help me protect Phili-"

BANG!

Adam's eyes widened, as did Philip's when he saw his beloved Adam stop in his tracks, dropping his sword to the ground… as blood spread across the front of his shirt. The world around Philip felt like it had shattered.

"ADAM!" Philip ran down to his boyfriend's aid, getting off Gabriel who held his smoking pistol. But when Philip ran, he dropped his key, which Gabriel saw and acquired.

Adam fell down to the ground, Ghost being shocked to see him shot. Philip ran to grab him. "Adam, Adam!"

Gabriel stood up, fixing his coat while holding the key.

"Gabriel, I got it!" his sister shouted, running over with the portal door.

"Then come on, let's go!" Gabriel shouted as he joined his sister Mary, tapping on the portal key and causing it to open the portal door. As the Gates siblings used the portal to escape from the Demon Realm, Gabriel looked back at Adam and Philip one last time. Then he was gone.

"Adam, you're going to be okay!" Philip promised. "I'll make a fire signal, you'll be patched up in no time!"

Adam just looked up to Philip, blood running from his mouth as he reached for his face, caressing it gently. "I… I'm sorry…"

"No, I'm the one who's sorry!" Philip declared while holding onto him. "You will be okay! I promise!"

"Take… care of… Ghost for me…" Adam said as a tear fell down his face. He smiled. "Being with you… all of you… have been so meaningful… tell father… I'm sorry…" His face became still, while the life in his eyes had left.

Ghost was devastated as she tried to wake up Adam but she couldn't. She rubbed herself into Adam's hand, shedding tears for her dead companion.

"Adam… no… please, no, I… you can't leave me!" Philip cried as he held onto his cold body.

But then, something unexpected happened. Philip felt Adam's body growing wet. He looked at him, his eyes widened in horror as he saw Adam start to melt. "Adam…?!" he and Ghost looked in shock, seeing his whole body turn purple and fall apart until it was nothing but a puddle of purple, Abominable slime...

"He melted?!" Amity exclaimed, looking at Ghost. "Ghost, are you sure that's what happened?!"

"Melted?" Luz questioned as Amity heard Ghost's confirmation, her eyes widening. "What did she mean by that?!"

"Adam Blight… was an Abomination…" Amity revealed, which shocked everyone.

"WHAT?!" they all cried out in shock, jaws dropped.

"But… how is that even possible?!" Raine questioned while scratching their head.

"It shouldn't be possible," Willow said. "Shouldn't it?"

"Yeah, how is that even possible?!" Amity asked Ghost.

"Even I don't know, Abra never told me how he did it," Ghost confessed.

"I know that Darius could turn himself into an Abomination… but an Abomination turning into a witch?" Hunter asked while turning to Lilith, who looked just as confused.

"What could this mean? Did Abra find some way to grant an Abomination a soul?" Lilith wondered out loud and Amity shifted uncomfortably, remembering Phil.

"This is getting a little trippy…" Eve admitted.

"Wait, so Luz bringing an object to life around the house is normal, but an Abomination becoming a real boy isn't?" Camila pointed out in confusion.

"So what happens after that?" Eda asked, trying to move on.

Ghost then continued. "After Adam's death, I came into the custody of Philip and ended up living with the Clawthornes. Last I heard of Abra, he was left heartbroken by his son's death and later on he would marry a Baroness who helped him with his business. He would have kids with that Baroness, thus continuing the Blight lineage…"

And so, Ghost went to live with the Clawthornes. The cat Palisman went to Philip's room, and saw him tear up at his desk, crying.

"Dear Titan… this is all my fault." Philip wept, blaming himself for what happened. His brother and sister came in to cheer him up.

"Philip, it is not your fault," William told him.

"It is, William," Philip said while wiping his tears. "I was the one who brought Gabriel and his men here."

"You couldn't have known their true natures," Marilyn pointed out.

"Well, thanks to me, that madman Gabriel now has the portal key. I just know he will one day return to this realm to finish what he started… and I have got to stop him!"

"But how?" William asked him, seeing his brother get up.

"I don't know… but maybe a friend can help," Philip decided.

"So one day, Philip left for Eclipsa's temple in the hopes that she would be there," Ghost explained. "He wouldn't be seen again for months…"

Time had passed and Ghost was still living with the Clawthornes. Currently she was being petted by an older teenage Marilyn.

"Hi, Ghost!" Marilyn said. Her hair was longer and she was wearing a long orange gown with a black coat.

Ghost walked past Damuel and Jocelyn, both making Palismen. Then she passed William, who was with his cousin and wife Evelyn, an orange haired pale woman in a maroon and brown colored dress. She was pregnant and with them was their eldest son while their younger son, Caleb, was playing with Flapjack when he saw Ghost.

"Ghost!" the young Caleb exclaimed as he patted the cat Palisman.

As Ghost purred, they heard Flapjack chirping by the window. William walked over. "What is it, Flapjack-" He paused, looking outside the window "It can't be…"

He immediately rushed to open the door. Everyone in the household saw a familiar figure stepping inside.

"Philip, is that you?" Marilyn asked.

"Hello, brother, hello sister," spoke Philip as Ghost walked up to see him. Ghost and everyone looked shocked to see Philip in this state. His clothes were worn and torn, especially dirty, his face was now covered in a beard, and his eyes… were the eyes of a broken man.

"He was a broken man when he came back… Philip never gave us the full details on what happened on Mewni…"

"Well Rhombulus," Merlin spoke while Rhombulus stood in his podium where he was forced to testify. "Care to answer Eclipsa's question about what happened to Meteora?"

"Um… I-I don't know of that name…" Rhombulus told Genie, who was in the guise of Saul Goodman.

"Are you sure that you don't have any info for this poor mother, who wants to know what happened to her child after more than three hundred years?" Genie-Saul asked him while turning to Eclipsa. "Ms. Butterfly, what do you make of the irresponsible guardianship of this man?"

While watching the trial, Kitsuni had been curious about the name, having heard of it before. 'Could Eclipsa's daughter be the same Meteora?' she thought, but she waited to see how this would go.

Eclipsa tilted her head up. "I do recall the last time I saw my daughter," she explained. "Back then, I gave her to a friend to keep her safe. But after that, I didn't know what happened to them… tell me, what became of my daughter, Rhombulus?"

"Oh come on, you can't possibly take her word for this!" Rhombulus denied while the Order talked amongst themselves.

"Rhombulus," Scrooge spoke to the diamond-headed being. "Tell us the truth, what happened to this poor lass's daughter?!"

"Speak up now!" the Rainbow Serpent demanded.

"Tell us the truth, Rhombulus," Forseti demanded as everyone stared at Rhombulus, who looked incredibly anxious.

"Alright, alright!" Rhombulus cried out. "We got rid of her!"

"What?!" Eclipsa, Genie, Kitsuni, Persephone, Scrooge, and Kebechet demanded.

"I-It's not as bad as it sounds!" Rhombulus claimed

"Explain," Yen Sid demanded.

"Okay, okay!" Rhombulus said. "Eclipsa's ex-husband wanted nothing to do with her child, having a Mewman-Monster hybrid as the next in line to the throne would make him and the kingdom look bad, so he planned to just give her away until he struck a deal with Oberon to take care of Meteora!"

"Oberon?!" Genie and Merlin exclaimed.

"Oberon…" Kitsuni realized.

"Should've known it was him…" Scrooge declared with his eyes narrowed.

"A-after that, we brought a simple peasant girl from the Pie Folks of Pie Island, which was a neighboring country, to be raised in Meteora's place. Her name was Festiva. But Globgor was pissed and he ate Shastacan, I crystallized him, and that's about it!"

"Do you know what became of Meteora after Oberon took her?" Forseti asked Rhombulus.

"I honestly don't know," Rhombulus admitted. "The only person who'd know is Oberon himself."

"So like, do we summon him?" asked a Hawaiian deity known as Kanaloa, Hawaiian God of Sea. "Like, bring Oberon back here?"

"I don't think that's wise," Persephone said. "Maybe a mirror call would be better,"

"Yeah, don't want to ruin his time being under house arrest," Genie said as he snapped his fingers, a mirror popping up as he dialed a number. "Put him on speed dial, and..."

The sound of ringing could be heard before Oberon appeared on the screen.

"Who summons me-" Oberon saw the Order through the line. "Oh… the peanut gallery. Whatever you think I did, I didn't do it."

"We wanted to ask you about a Mewman child you took in from Shastacan over three hundred years ago," Yen Sid told him. "Does the name Meteora ring any bells?"

"Meteora… oh, yes, I do know her," Oberon confirmed. "Shastacan wanted to get rid of her, and as king I decided to take her in out of pity…"

"Quote on quote," Genie whispered while his eyes rolled.

"My Fae did raise her, thus she became part of the Fae," Oberon explained. "A Fae that is part-Mewman and part-Monster, is something that I had never seen before. It was quite interesting."

"Is Meteora still alive?" Persephone asked.

"Well, since I don't see the point in hiding it from all of you, I can tell you this," Oberon said. "Meteora is the same Fae I sent to assassinate those two girls back at the Boiling Isles." This shocked Eclipsa and everyone in the Order except for Kitsuni."But after she failed, she went AWOL, rather than return to accept her punishment. I have no idea what her current whereabouts are."

"That would be all, Oberon." Yen Sid said while turning to Eclipsa, whose eyes were wide in shock about the news of her daughter.

"My daughter… is still alive," Eclipsa whispered to herself.

Back at the Owl House, Ghost continued her story.

"More time passed," Ghost explained. "Philip remained obsessed with both stopping Gabriel and stopping his visions from coming true, his family growing worried about him as became more withdrawn despite their best efforts. His nephew Caleb in particular tried to get through to him, but Philip ignored him like he ignored everyone else. He even neglected me." She tilted her head up. "I do recall moments where it seemed like he thought he heard voices talking to him, even though I heard nothing. But then there was the moment that made me leave him…"

"What… made you leave?" Hunter asked.

Ghost answered, while Amity's eyes looked saddened. "She saw him kill another Palisman and devour its essence," she explained, causing Luz/Maya to look down. "When Philip saw her, Ghost became terrified for her life. She ran from the Clawthorne home and never returned, that being the last name she saw Philip. After that, she has no idea what happened, but she did hear that Philip and his brother both died many years after she left."

"Though we know now that Philip still lives as Belos," Lilith pointed out. "But maybe Flapjack can fill us in on what happened next."

Hunter looked at Flapjack, who sat on his shoulder. "Hey, Flapjack… this is really important so, you think you can help us learn more about Philip?" he asked the cardinal Palisman.

Flapjack chirped as he flew up onto Hunter's head. He chirped away while Hunter translated.

"Okay…" Hunter said. "Sometime after Ghost left the Clawthorne household, Gabriel and his witch hunters did indeed return to the Boiling Isles… with a plan to wipe out every witch and demon in the Realm." Flapjack chirped with a sadden look, which made Hunter feel saddened as well. "Gabriel first attempted to kill Philip, but he failed. But there were still losses… the Clawthorne home being one of them, burned to the ground and not everybody making it out..."

The Clawthorne home was in flames. Flapjack flew inside to look for anyone else still inside, chirping for Caleb specifically.

He soon found the bodies of Damuel and Jocelyn, along with Evelyn who was holding her youngest baby, which made Flapjack shut his eyes sadly before he continued his search for survivors. He still cried for Caleb and the cardinal's eyes widened when he found Caleb…

The cardinal Palisman started to look for an exit when he realized that there were no survivors. He got struck in the eye by some falling debris in the process, but that didn't stop him from finding his way out.

Once he flew out of the burning home, he saw Philip and William as they managed to get some people out, including Marilyn and some of William's surviving children.

"I have to go back!" William insisted. "Evelyn and Caleb are still-" He noticed his Palisman "Flapjack! Where are they? Are they alright?!" He cried as Flapjack lowered his head, telling William what had become of them. "No… no… nonononono…!" He fell on his knees in anguish as he started to break down. Tears streamed down his face.

Philip looked at his brother in this state, his hands shaking. "No… not Caleb… not Evelyn… mom… dad..." He lowered his head in guilt while Marilyn started crying along with her niece and nephew.

Later, after putting out the fire, the three Clawthorne siblings looked through the wreckage. They found the bodies of their families. Philip gazed at the dead body of Caleb, who was not only burnt but what killed him was impalement. William was silent when he looked at the body of his dead wife and baby child along with his fallen daughter.

Eventually, the three brought the bodies out and began to dig graves for them. As Philip and Marilyn dug, William paused, looking down at the grave he was digging. The one where he was gonna have to bury his wife and children in…

"I can't do it…" William said with a broken tone, dropping his shovel.

"Will," Marilyn said as she looked at her brother.

"I can't do this!" He fell on his knees again, starting to cry his eyes out. "Oh Titan… why did you take them from me?!"

Philip looked in sorrow at his brother as he walked towards him. "William, I'm so, so sorry-" As he reached out to him, William swatted his brother's hand away from him.

"NO!" William snapped, shocking his brother, "No, Philip, you don't get this!"

"William…"

"Don't you William me!" he declared. "Ever since we saw those sisters, you've been obsessed about this vision! You just had to go about playing hero by uniting worlds… this is all your fault! If you hadn't decided to bring these witch hunters here, our family would still be alive! Adam would still be alive!"

"William, I didn't mean for this to happen!" Philip shouted as he tried reaching for his brother again, only to get a fist to the face.

WHACK!

Philip fell back and looked up at his angered brother. Marilyn got in between them.

"William, stop!" Marilyn cried out, now in tears. "Please, don't hurt him! He's in just as much pain as you are! We're all grieving! So please, stop fighting!"

William looked at his sister, calming himself down. He looked down at Philip before turning around to storm off. Flapjack followed him.

He stormed off to a tree, hiding himself behind it. He pressed his back against the tree while burying his face to his knees. Flapjack sat on his head, trying to console him. But William said nothing as he sat there, overhearing his siblings' talk.

"He didn't mean that he said, Philip," Marilyn spoke while helping Philip up.

"No… he's right." Philip responded sadly. "This is my fault, all of this… I brought this to the Isles." He looked down, his fists tightening. "But I'm going to fix this… by ending the threat that Gabriel poses… permanently."

Both Flapjack and Hunter were silent for a moment. Hunter looked up to his Palisman in concern, "You… don't have to continue if it's too hard…" But Flapjack chirped to him and he looked at the others who were watching him in silence as he continued. "Philip and William eventually managed to find out what Gabriel was planning and they followed him… to the Head of the Titan."

Everyone but Camila, Star, and Acorn looked shocked by this.

"By the head, do you mean the large skull outside?" Camila asked.

"The Head of the Titan is considered sacred grounds to all witches and demons," Raine explained. "Nobody goes there out of respect for the Titan."

"Supposedly not even Belos would set foot in there…" Lilith mentioned.

"But why would Gabriel enter the Titan's Head?" Luz asked while Flapjack chirped an explanation.

"He planned to release the Collector," Hunter answered, looking confused. "Wait, who's the Collector?"

Eda, Luz, and Amity exchanged worried looks.

"He's a Fae that's actually responsible for the disappearance of the missing children that the Pied Piper was blamed for," Luz explained.

"One of my human friends, Janna, had a book written by Gabriel and one of the illustrations was of the Collector," Amity mentioned, remembering how the illustration winked at her for some reason. She shook her head, deciding not to bring that up.

As Flapjack chirped, Hunter continued. "Once they reached the Head, they tried to stop Gabriel…"

The two brothers were now facing off against the witch hunters, fighting them off with their cambion forms while also fighting a Stone Sleeper that was up here.

William's cambion form had yellow scales as his eyes glowed. He had set his arms aflame and a nearby Flapjack watched while William shot fire at the witch hunters, burning them alive. "Not so fun being burned, is it?!" he declared while the Stone Sleeper charged at him until Philip shot a block of ice at the creature.

But what caught Philip's attention during the battle was Gabriel grabbing the mirror-like tablet of the Collector. "Found you!" Gabriel declared as he made off with it. "You, Collector, can you hear me?!"

"Yeah, yeah," spoke a child-like voice. "Wait, who are you? Are you a new friend?"

"I will be if you help me out with something…" Gabriel said while running toward the exit until his path was blocked by Philip.

"You!" Philip declared while marching towards Gabriel, who pulled out his pistol.

"Stay back, Philip!" Gabriel shouted. "The Collector is mine!" He fired.

Flapjack and William heard the gunshot after William punched a witch hunter. He spun around. "Philip!" he shouted as he flew away, leaving the rest of the remaining hunters to the Stone Sleeper.

Once Flapjack and William caught up to Philip and Gabriel, they saw Philip holding Gabriel by the throat while he had the witch hunter dangling over a dark abyss.

"P-Philip…" Gabriel was choking. "P-Please… have mercy…!"

"Mercy? Mercy?!" Philip growled. "Did you show mercy to all the innocent people you've killed? Did you show mercy when you burned down Bonesborough and my family's home or when you took from me my family and my beloved Adam?!" His grip on Gabriel's neck tightened. "Why should I show mercy to a self-righteous bastard like you?!" Philip grabbed the key back from Gabriel's coat. "I'll be taking this,"

"If you do me away, God will smite you down!" Gabriel declared.

"Perhaps you should be asking your god for mercy instead of me," Philip replied as he threw Gabriel down to the abyss.

"NOOOO!" Gabriel cried out as he fell into the darkness, his cries echoing throughout the Head. Eventually, his cries stopped and a loud thud echoed.

Philip shut his eyes, tears leaking from them. "It's over…" he said while turning to his shocked brother.

"Philip…" William walked up to his brother. "Are you…?"

"It had to be done," Philip said while seeing the blue mirror where Gabriel had dropped it. He walked over to pick it up, hearing the Collector's voice.

"Say, I have never seen you before!" the Collector spoke, seeing Philip in his cambion form. "Are you a dragon? I've seen dragons before… who are you, mister? And can you free me from this imprisonment?"

"That's never going to happen," Philip told him while holding the mirror up.

"Wait, wait, wait! I promise to be your friend if you free me!" the Collector told him but Philip was having none of that.

"I am not interested in being friends with a dangerous Fae like you," Philip told him off while he coldly dropped the mirror into the abyss.

"WAAAIIIIT!" the Collector cried out as the mirror spun around and fell into the darkness. A loud thud was heard when it landed at the bottom of the pit. "Wow, straight to the skull!"

Philip looked at William and Flapjack as he changed back to normal. His eyes suddenly flashed green. "Let's get out of here," he told them.

"Philip became even more distant after that," Hunter translates to others. "Sometimes, he disappeared for months at a time. He was so determined to prevent the future he had seen at any cost, but he had ruled out the Human Realm as a potential ally and his search for other allies elsewhere… didn't go so well."

"This sounds similar to Ford…" Lilith noted.

"Philip was obsessed, while his brother William decided to devote his time to his surviving family. Abel visited from time to time over the years like he always did, checking up on the Clawthorne brothers… but then, one day when Philip came home with some news…"

After hearing the knock on the door, William opened to see Philip.

"Philip?" William asked as Marilyn went up to him.

"You're back!" she said, embracing him.

"William, Marilyn, I've brought great news!" Philip declared. "I found the location of a temple to a forgotten deity that I want to check out. I believe that there will be the answers I have been seeking!"

"A temple?" William asked him while his brother grabbed his sleeve.

"Come with me you two!" Philip insisted, but William pulled his hand away. "William?"

"I'm sorry, Philip, but…" William looked away. "I can't go with you this time."

"What? But the Isles… the vision!" Philip exclaimed.

"I can't keep doing this!" William told him. "I just want to be with my surviving children. I've lost too much, it's best that we just forget about it."

"But William, I can't let this all be in vain!" Philip declared, but William turned away. "If we give up, all of this suffering would have been for nothing! If you really want to help your children, you should make sure that they can have a future in the Isles. And that their children can have a future. And so on. But if that vision becomes a reality, then there will be no future and no Boiling Isles. Please…"

"...I'm sorry, Philip," William told him. "Not this time…"

Philip looked saddened and pulled away from his brother before Marilyn comforted him. "Brother… I can go with you to this temple if you want. Help you check it out."

Philip looked at his sister, smiling. "Thank you, Marilyn. At least I know to count on you."

Later, after they left, William was walking down the hall when he passed the door to Philip's room. Flapjack chirped at William to let it know it had been left open and William decided to look inside, sighing at the sight of the mess inside.

"Same messy Philip," William sighed as he went into the room to pick up his clothes and put them in a basket. "Maybe if we clean it up, he'd learn to appreciate how tidy it is." Flapjack chirped in agreement. William looked around and saw Philip's journal on the desk. He went over and picked it up "My brother's journal… I shouldn't, but… I do worry about his mentality… meh, I've sinned enough."

He opened the journal, looking through the entries. He saw them having notes, poetry, and catalogs on his findings for ingredients to the portal door. "Huh, who knew you can make glyph combos like that," he commented, while flipping through the pages until he saw some blood stains. Confused, he turned to some other pages and saw them filled with mad scribbling. "What in Titan's…?" He looked concerned, turning to page after page. Flapjack looked just as creeped out about these pages, which had been covered in black ink with red ramblings written over them. Then page after page were drawings of winged creatures… and a bestial figure cloaked in crimson red with a deer skull for a head and burning eyes. What followed was a message taking up two pages:

HE SINGS TO ME!

"Philip…" William said as he grew concerned not just for his brother, but his sister as well. He then found something folded within the journal and he opened it up. It was a map. A map that led to the temple Philip found. William turned to Flapjack, both nodding to each other. "We have to stop this."

And so, flying on his staff, William followed the map to the underground temple that Philip and Marilyn had gone to. Once he made it there, he found that a fight had broken out. Much to his shock, it was between Philip, who was in his cambion form, and Marilyn, who was holding her cockatrice staff. Both were in front of a shrine that was carved into the image of a figure with a deer skull for a head: the Horned King.

"Philip, you know that I can't allow you to do this!" Marilyn declared while shooting her spells at Philip, who dodged them.

"It has to be done, Marilyn!" Philip declared, "For the greater good of all in the Isles!"

"Do you know how many will suffer if you go through with this?!" she demanded to know.

"I've accepted the cost and I won't let anyone get in my way!" he declared while glaring at her "Not even you…" He blasted at her with fire.

Marilyn tried to form a shield to protect herself, but she would have been too slow if not for William, who used Flapjack to teleport to Marilyn and push her out of the way of the flames.

"William!" she declared.

"I got you," William responded while in his cambion form.

"So now you've come, brother?" Philip asked as he flew down to the ground.

"I've come to defuse this fight!" William told him. "For Titan's sake, you're fighting our baby sister!"

Philip raised his head up "Have you heard him too, brother?" he asked him.

William looked at his brother and sighed. "Yes… I have," he confirmed, shocking Marilyn and confusing Flapjack.

"No…" Marilyn said as she pushed William away from her and started backing away. The look on her face was one of fear.

"Wait, Marilyn," William said, raising his hands up. "It isn't what you-"

Philip gasped and pointed down the cavern. "It's him…"

William looked in that direction. "Yes, I see it as well," he confirmed, though neither Marilyn nor Flapjack could see what he was referring to. Philip began to be drawn farther into the cavern, as if drawn to some invisible treasure. And though William resisted, he still found himself tempted…

While they were distracted, Marilyn looked up at the shrine and aimed her staff at it. Taking this chance, she shot a beam at the shrine, destroying it.

Shocked and enraged, Philip turned to her. "NO! What have you done?!"

"Putting a stop to this!" Marilyn declared before her brother launched himself towards her, claws shooting out.

"I'LL KILL YOOOUU!" he declared. He got pretty close to killing Marilyn, but it was William who tackled him down. He tried to pull him away, but Philip grabbed Marilyn's staff from her, knocking her back. William ended up throwing Philip away from her.

"What do you think you're doing, brother?!" William demanded to know.

Philip didn't answer. Instead, he held up the cockatrice Palisman and cracked it open, allowing him to absorb its essence. This made Marilyn scream.

"WINGER!" she screamed for her Palisman, unable to believe her own brother killed him.

The destroyed shrine fell as it caused a chain reaction. Soon chasms began to open up on the floor while the ceiling threatened to cave in on top of them.

"We have to get out of here!" William shouted as he glared at Philip, who was staring down at the dead Palisman in his hands before looking up at William.

"I… I can't hurt you, brother!" he declared before spotting something in the cavern. He flew toward it while William, Marilyn, and Flapjack started to evacuate.

When William turned to see his brother fly away, he hesitated briefly before deciding to go back for him.

"William, stop!" Marilyn cried out for him while she and Flapjack managed to get out. "It's too dangerous!"

William turned to his sister. "I can't leave him behind!" he declared before going back inside the collapsing cavern.

"WILLIAM!" Marilyn shouted, trying to follow but it was too late. The temple collapsed and she and Flapjack were forced to step back. She formed a shield around them and when the dust settled they saw how the entrance of the temple was now completely sealed while both of her brothers were in there, buried alive.

She fell to her knees, Flapjack attempting to tend to her as Marilyn started to break down, crying in anguish from what she had been through…

After the incident, Marilyn came back home, dead silent. Despite Flapjack tweeting at her, she never responded. And when Clawthorne girl walked back into her home, she found Abel at the table serving himself some tea.

"Marilyn." Abel spoke to her. "Where are you brothers?"

She looked at Abel with a blank stare. "Gone."

Knowing what she meant, Abel looked down. "That's a shame… well, you have my condolences," he said as he got up. "Your niece and nephew have turned themselves in, leftovers in the cooler… good day, Marilyn," he said as he left the house. He opened up his umbrella and allowed himself to be carried away.

Marilyn didn't even bother to watch how he left, unlike Flapjack. Instead she just walked to Philip's room. Opening the door, she found it slightly cleaned thanks to William and her brother's journal where it had been left on the floor. Picking it up, she looked through it. Her blank stare turned to anger as her hands shook. Tears streamed from her eyes…

And then she began to tear out certain pages, destroying them each time. She found stuff she marked out, erased. Her anger festered as she mutilated the journal. Tears stained on some of the pages not torn. She even erased Philip's adopted surname, disowning him from the Clawthorne Clan…

Outside, she held up the portal key and the folded door. Seeing it as a threat, she didn't want anyone else to use them ever again. She quickly dug a hole, in which she buried both the portal and the key.

And after she was done, she began to cry again. She cried at the spot where the old gates were, the same spot Eda would find the portal door centuries later.

"After that, she took Philip's Journal and had it donated into the Bonesborough Library, to be locked up in the Forbidden Archives," Hunter explained. "Flapjack stayed with her, serving as her Palisman after Winger. She spent her life raising William's children… but she soon began to experience night terrors regularly and Flapjack can remember the nights when she looked… entranced…"

In her tavern home, Marilyn stared at the fireplace, drawn to it. It was then she started to sing.

"What for do you yearn? It's the point of no return, after everything we did, we saw, you turned back on me!" she sang, "What for do you yearn? Watch that butcher burn!" She held a picture frame, remembering her times with Philip and William, from back when she was a baby to growing up with them

"At the end of my days when I'm through… no word that I've written will ring quite as true…as BURN!"

She threw the picture frame of Philip, William, and her into the flames, trying to forget the pain.

"Burn, butcher, burn! Burn, butcher, burn!" she shouted while throwing many items that reminded her of Philip and William into the fire. "Burn, burn, burn, burn, burn, burn, burn!" She fell on her knees and held her face, crying into her hands before looking back up at the flames, reaching out toward them. "Watch me burn all the memories of you!"

Everything that reminded her of her former brothers were completely burned from memory. Since then, Marilyn was never the same.

Once William's children were old enough to take care of themselves, Marilyn took up drinking and pretty much… anything that would help her forget. She never married, never had children of her own, and everyone began to leave her… except for Flapjack. He stayed with her by her side no matter what…

That was until the day she didn't wake up at all.

Flapjack finally decided to leave and eventually he ended up living in the Bat Queen's forest, where he was reunited with Ghost. And that was where he stayed… until he met Hunter, who had an uncanny resemblance to his carver William and his son Caleb. And it was through Hunter that Flapjack realized that Belos and Philip were one and the same.

Philip was not dead like he, Marilyn, and Ghost had believed. He had survived…

After Flapjack had finished his story, Hunter was left with a thousand yard stare.

"Hunter… are you okay?" Lilith asked him, patting his hand.

"I… I don't know," he admitted, looking down. "Everything my uncle has kept from me… everything he chose not to tell me…" He wiped the tears from his face. "I don't even know what I am now… if I am even the Emperor's real nephew, or if I am… something else." He looked at Flapjack. "Did you just… choose me because you thought I was someone else? Does Belos ever only see me as someone else?" He ran his hands through his hair. "Am I even real?!" He was shaken, now experiencing an identity crisis.

"Hunter, son, it's going to be alright," Raine reassured the boy.

"How? I don't even know for sure what I am anymore! I don't know if I'm a witch or a human or something else!" Hunter shouted, which startled everyone.

"Hunter," Maya said. He turned to her. "I do have something to… mention. During our… fight, I realized that you smelled of Palistrom wood. I was shocked, frightened at the fact that I've fought against someone who's… um-"

"Part-Palisman? Oh now that's something to add to the table!" Hunter scoffed. "I have no idea what that even means!"

"I think I know," Gus spoke up. "I've read about something once that might fit the description…"

"What do you mean?!" Hunter demanded to know.

"Hunter… you might be a Grimwalker."

Hunter's eyes widened as he looked at Gus, a million thoughts racing through his head. "No… no, I-" He started to hyperventilate, causing Eda and Lilith to look concerned..

"Hunter-" Lilith tried to calm him down, but Hunter brushed her off and dashed for the door, running outside. "Hunter!"

"Hunter, wait!" Gus called out, seeing him run.

"Don't worry, I shall retrieve him for you, Lulu!" Hooty volunteered, but was stopped by Lilith.

"I'll handle this," she said as she summoned her staff, turning to the others. "Eda, when I get him, I think I'll take him straight home. He needs some space and some time. Good night, everyone." She then flew out to retrieve Hunter, Flapjack flying alongside her.

Everyone was silent for the moment before Camila raised her hand up. "Pardon me, but… what exactly is a Grimwalker?"

"I can explain," Eda told her. "See, it's kinda like the human concept of… cloning, but it's much more complex here…"

Hunter was running into the woods as Lilith and Flapjack caught up to him. "Hunter, stop!" she called out to him. "Let's talk!"

He scoffed at her. "Talk? Alright, let's talk!" He turned to her and started to rant. "I am not okay! I am the farthest thing from okay! All my life, I was in the shadow of the man I thought was my father!" Tears fell down his face. "For Titan's sake, Belos and Darius would always constantly tell me how I was doing my father proud! How I reminded them so much like him! He was always the standard that I was being held to! But now… was that man even my father?" He wiped his nose. "Would Belos, Darius, and Flapjack have ever taken the time for me if they didn't see someone else when they looked at me?" He looked down as he spoke in a quiet tone. "Nobody… not even Darius or Flapjack, wanted me for me…they only wanted me because of who I reminded them of." He sat down by a red tree, holding himself in a fetal position, burying his face in his arms.

Lilith and Flapjack looked at Hunter with a saddened expression. She walked over to him, sitting beside him with her arms crossed. Looking down, she spoke to him. "I think that if they just wanted Caleb or William or whoever… they wouldn't have stayed after realizing that you're not them," she said, patting his back again.

"R-Really?" Hunter asked as he looked at Flapjack, who confirmed it. The cardinal chirped at him, telling Hunter that he recognizes Hunter isn't Caleb or William. But even if his resemblance was the reason he chose Hunter, it wasn't the reason he stayed. He is still here because he wants to be with Hunter.

"Look Hunter, I'm gonna be honest. I don't see you as your father or your mother whenever I look at you," she admitted. "I don't think you are anything like them and don't take that the wrong way or anything. All I see is some kid, a kid that I want to get to know for who he is, not for who is trying to replace or live up to."

Hunter looked up at her after that. He hugged her and she hugged him back. "I… I don't know what to do now," he confessed. "A part of me doesn't want to believe everything I've been told." He released her while looking unsure. "But deep down I know that Flapjack was telling the truth. And I know for a fact that Belos has lied to me before. I could go back to ask him for answers since he could be the only one who can tell me what I really am… but I'm scared. I'm scared of him… and I'm scared of the truth."

"I understand," Lilith said, nodding. "But we don't have to figure it all out tonight, we can figure it out when you're ready." She stood up, holding her staff. "Now, would you like to come back with me to my parents' home?"

Hunter nodded. "Yes, ma'am," he said while Flapjack turned into a staff for him. "So… does this mean we're family now? Since Belos is a Clawthorne, what does that make me?"

"I don't know," Lilith admitted. "But I promise we'll find out together… though to be honest, even if Belos was raised by the Clawthornes, I don't consider him family."

And with that, the two began to head back.

Eda received a text from Lilith, which she informed everyone else of. "Alright, Aunt Lily's got Hunter so he didn't run off too far."

"Thank Titan," Raine responded while looking at how everyone was still processing the story. "How's everyone doing after listening to all of that?"

"Well, It looks like we know a lot more than we should," Luz replied.

"Yeah, talk about learning about what they don't teach you in school," Willow stated.

"I'll say," Amity said while rubbing her head. "I'm still trying to process what Ghost said about Adam…"

"So… what now?" Gus asked as Eda stood up.

"Well, despite everything we know now… there is a lot we still don't know," Eda pointed out. "We still don't know what Belos is really planning for the Day of Unity, for example. But we can use what we've learned tonight to find out more, though we'll still need to be extra careful with this information."

"Yeah," Eve said, nodding. "This sounds like one of those 'knows too much' kind of scenarios."

"So it's agreed, we all make this a secret?" Luz asked. Everyone nodded in agreement. "Great."

"So what exactly will we do about the winged creatures that destroyed Mewni?" Star asked. "Especially now they're tied to this Belos guy."

"Well, we do have some questions for you, blondie," Eda pointed out. "But right now… we should all get some sleep. Cause we've been through a lot of craziness over the last forty-eight hours and we all need some rest while we're trying to figure out our next move."

King yawned. "Yeah, I think Francois and Jean-Luc missed me," he said as he started to walk away.

"Yeah, some sleep sounds good," Luz replied while turning to Amity, the two sharing a smile.

Back at the trial of Eclipsa, the trio of Forseti, Persephone, and Scrooge stood to give the jury's verdict.

"Eclipsa Butterfly," Forseti began. "The Order has come to a decision… while you may have been found guilty of crimes of Mewni, there is no longer a Mewni to pass judgment upon you. The Order sees no reason to uphold a ruling made by a defunct organization that is also guilty of tampering with Mewni history."

"As of this trial, we've decided to terminate your sentence, as we believe that you have more than done your time," Persephone continued.

"Rhombulus, if you will," Scrooge said while Rhombulus was brought over by the guards.

The diamond-headed man creature just sighed. "Fine!" he shouted before he freed the rest of Eclipsa from her prison.

Once Eclipsa was freed, she stretched out her back. "Dear goodness, I've never felt this cramped…"

"A search order has been put out for your daughter, Ms. Butterfly," Yen Sid explained. "We will notify you when we learn the whereabouts of your daughter, Meteora."

"Thank you, all of you," Eclipsa replied with a bow. "I don't know how I can repay you for all of this."

"Well there's no need, ma'am," Genie told her. "Just enjoy your freedom. Trust me, I know a thing or two about freedom."

She smiled, but then looked down as a thought occurred to her. "Though, since there's no Mewni to return to, I'm not sure where to go now."

"Well, can you think of any place you would like to live?" Merlin asked. "Like, somewhere special that you've been before."

"Like a vacation home to spend retirement on," Genie suggested. "For example, I wouldn't mind living in relaxation in the islands of Trinidad and Tobago…"

Eclipsa gave it some thought. "Wait, I think I know the place…"

At the Femur Forest, Cups and Mugs made a path while Edric and Mel, who were holding hands, followed them.

"You sure this is where we'll find that Eclipse Temple, Mugs?" Cups asked his brother.

"Yeah, Cups," Mugs replied while reading the map. "It should be right around… here!" He pointed ahead and the two brothers saw the temple before them… and the closed sign.

"Aw man, it's closed," Edric pointed out.

"Closed?!" Cups exclaimed. "I thought this place was self-automatic?!"

"Guess we'll just have to find our fun somewhere else," Mel said while leaning close to Edric, saddened that she couldn't try out this escape temple with her friends. "So… who's up for playing with fire-crackers?" she suggested.

Back at the Owl House, Eda walked up to Eve as she along with Willow and Gus were setting up their sleeping bags for the night.

"Hey, goth girl, um… Eevee, right?" Eda asked her.

"It's Eve, Ms. Owl Lady," Eve replied.

"Right," Eda nodded. "Just wondering how you're doing, since I understand that you've been gone the longest and you had a really hard time out there… you didn't get hurt too much, right?" she asked in concern.

"Physically, no," Eve admitted. "Mentally, well that's a completely different story. I am still processing everything I've learned about Belos. I had no idea that when I started looking into that Philip guy, I would actually end up learning the secret history of the Emperor himself. It… is definitely a lot. But at least I get to see my family again tomorrow."

"You know, Luz mentioned that you're from the Shadowy Secrets Expozers," Eda pointed out, to which Eve nodded in confirmation. "Do you know anything about the original SSE? I still remember them from my Hexside days."

"Actually, I do," Eve confirmed. "One of the original members is actually our benefactor."

"Hmm, wait here," Eda said as she ran out of the living room, heading to the closet in another room. "Come on, where is it," the one-eyed Owl Lady muttered while digging through her closet. "So many board games here…"

"Hey, mom," Luz said, confronting Eda while carrying her leather jacket. "Can we talk.. about this jacket?"

Eda turned to see Angel's leather jacket in Luz's hands. "Oh… that," she said in a quiet tone.

"I… don't know what to do with it," Luz said while looking down on the jacket. "But I'm thinking we could get rid of it since, well, given what we know now about her…"

"… No," Eda replied, patting her daughter's head. "Keep the jacket. It's more of a reminder of the girl that I once knew, even if she's gone. I gave you that jacket as a tribute, so whether you continue on wearing it or not is up to you. Just don't throw it away, okay?"

Luz smiled. "Yeah, I got it," she said as she hugged Eda, who hugged her back.

After that, Eda managed to find her yearbook before returning to Eve. They sat on the couch as Eda showed her an old photo of the old SSE.

"These are the original SSE, who were basically the drama kids," Eda pointed out. "Three in Illusions, one in Bard, and one in Abominations."

Eve looked at the photo, which showed a young Vanessa Pierce in her Hexside Illusionist track uniform along with a turquoise haired teenage boy with a tail that had a tuft at the end and a rabbit biped demon with glasses. The Bard was a tall, dark-skinned demon girl with long white hair and she was holding a book while looking at a boy with blond pompadour-style hair with teeth and an Abominations track uniform.

"I know that's Vanessa," Eve said, pointing at the photo and looking at the names underneath it. "The Shadowy Secret Expozers: Vanny Pierce, Walter Wildes, Stacy Le Fette, Bobby Bones, and their rabbit mascot, Doctor Cuddlebuns… Stacy…" She frowned. "I'm familiar with her."

"You know Stacy?" Eda asked.

"Not personally, but I do know her son," Eve replied. "She's the mother of my friend Teri. She… she passed away shortly after he was born."

"Stacy's dead?" Eda asked in shock, looking down at the photo. "Damn, I remember Stacy. She was a great poet."

"Yeah, Teri takes after her," Eve said, nodding. "Vanessa has gotten the new SSE to help her solve some mysteries related to the original SSE. Like some cases that they were never able to solve themselves. But she also wants to find out what happened to its original members, since we have no idea what happened to Cuddlebuns and Bobby Bones. Neither of them have been seen in years…"

Meanwhile, Ghost followed Amity as she went to show her the Sword of Adam.

"So you recovered the sword from that Tricks girl?" Ghost asked after listening to the story Amity told her.

"Yeah," Amity replied. "It worked fully when I had it, so it felt right to keep it," she said while at the wall of weapons, grabbing the Sword of Adam from it and showing it to Ghost. "Here, hope it rings any bells."

Ghost looked at the sword, then at Amity holding it. For a moment, she didn't see Amity wielding the sword. Instead, she saw Adam in her place. As Ghost stared at her with a pained expression, Amity took notice.

"Ghost, are you alright?" Amity asked in concern.

"I'm fine," Ghost responded. "Thank you for showing my Adam's sword. It is good to know before I go that it is in good hands..."

This made Amity confused. "Go? What do you mean?"

"It means that I'm leaving the Owl House," Ghost announced.

"What?!" Amity said in shock. "You're leaving, but why?!"

"Obviously, I needed to head back to the Bat Queen's forest so that I can let everyone know that I'm alright after being missing for so long, and to inform them about Maya," Ghost explained.

"I guess that's reasonable, but… I thought we bonded…" Amity admitted. "You've turned into a staff for me and everything."

"That was only out of necessity while we were at the Knee and trapped in the Human Realm, since we needed each other then," Ghost explained. "But now that we're back in the Isles, we can go our separate ways." She made her way to the window, opening it.

"But… after everything that we've been through together, are you sure you don't want to stay?" Amity asked her while looking down. "Is it… because of my part-Fae status? I know that I'm a little different, but-"

"It's not just that, Goodfellow," Ghost said, looking down. "You don't even know your deepest desire, do you?" she asked while turning to Amity. "You don't even know what you are or what you really want and because of that… I don't think I want to be your Palisman." Amity looked hurt as Ghost said this. "Until we meet again, I wish you luck," she said as she jumped out the window, making her leave.

Amity lowered her head in silence, standing there for a moment while Acorn flew up next to her. "Are you going to be okay, Amity?"

"I… I don't know," Amity replied, while holding the sword.

"Well, I say good riddance," Acorn said with a huff.

Amity looked up at Acorn. "So… do you really plan on staying here in this realm with me?"

"Yup," Acorn replied while sitting on Amity's shoulder. "I got nowhere else better to be anyway…"

Meanwhile, in the Human Realm, a couple of armored pixies were searching the forests of Gravity Falls, questioning the magical creatures they came across.

"According to the gnomes, she has definitely been here recently," one pixie said while looking around. "Think she could have gone far?"

"If she did leave town, she wouldn't have much of a head start," the other armored pixie responded while having a serious look. "But she's gonna have to turn up eventually…"

In the home of Soos Ramirez, Dipper and Mabel were laying on the couch-to-bed, trying to fall asleep.

"Mabel, are you asleep yet?" Dipper asked her.

"No," Mabel confessed. "But it was nice of Soos's Abuela to let us sleep here for the night."

"Yeah," Dipper responded while looking up at the ceiling. "Mabel, are you… worried about what the future will bring us?"

Mabel rubbed her gloved hand, looking just as concerned. "Mostly about my parents reacting to all of this… I… don't want to be separated from you again."

"I don't want that either," Dipper admitted while sighing. "Hey Mabel, what do you think of Ford?"

"Well, I do think it's interesting that we have another Grunkle," Mabel replied, while trying to be as optimistic about it as she could. "But… how do you feel about him?"

Dipper kept looking at the ceiling, thinking about what had happened today. "I should be excited to finally meet the author of the journals and spend time with him… but I miss Stan."

Mabel nodded. "Me too, Mason," she said as her voice cracked.

At a motel, the Gatesfield group has been put in their own rooms. The Gatesfield teens were asleep for the night, while Abigail and Nora were outside on their patios.

"How are the girls?" Nora asked Abigail, who had just checked up on the room with Clara, Dana, and Masha, while Nora had just checked up on the room with Gus and Rudo.

"Sound asleep," Abigail replied while holding her cigarette. She sighed. "This past week has been really hectic for you, hasn't it?"

"It… has been a lot to process," Nora responded. "I mean, magical creatures exist among us, it's like something out of a fairy tale."

"You get used to it," Abigail said while looking down at the pool water. She was debating with herself over whether she should tell Nora something or not.

"Nora… there's something you and your son should know… about what happened to your husband."

At the old Clawthorne home, Hunter was in the bathroom while in his pajamas. He was rubbing his eyes as he looked in the mirror, staring at his reflection. As he looked, briefly he saw someone who wasn't him. For a quick second, he saw an older version of him, followed by a younger version of him… William and Caleb.

"AAH!" he yelped, backing away as he slipped and fell, but caught himself on the toilet.

Outside of the bathroom, Lilith rushed over after hearing Hunter's cry. "Hunter, are you alright?" she asked, seeing the door open and hearing the sound of snipping. She looked in and saw Hunter cutting his own hair. "Hunter?"

He looked at Lilith. "Oh, Lilith, I… um." His hair was more unkempt, due to its growth over his week-long coma. "I was just…"

"Do you need help?" Lilith offered, which surprised him.

He nodded. "Y-Yes."

He sat down while Lilith combed over his hair, using the scissors to properly cut it down. He looked down while waiting for Lilith to finish with his hair. "Thank you, Lilith… for everything."

Lilith smiled. "It's no problem, Hunter. I'm here to help."

In the Owl House, everyone was settled in. Eve, Gus, and Willow were sleeping in the living room. Down in the basement, Eda was with Raine as they had a deep discussion.

"An organization dedicated to eradicate magickind, winged creatures responsible for destroying realms," Raine listed off while sitting beside Eda. "We have a lot more going on than just the Day of Unity, which is still an enigma…"

"Yeah," Eda said while leaning back.

"You know, I wish to meet this American Dragon someday," Raine told Eda. "He might be of some help along with Kitsuni to put a stop to Belos's plans for the Day of Unity." They then noticed Eda's look. "Are you alright, Eda?"

"Yeah, just…" She sighed, feeling where her gold-color eye once was. "I still can't believe that Angel's alive… and different." She felt Raine's hand touching hers and she looked them in the eyes.

"Hey, do you um, want to stay down here for the night?" they asked.

Eda gave a small smile. "Yes please," she said as she leaned down next to them.

Up in the tower where Camila slept, next to her was Star who slept in Lilith's old bed. As Star slept, her hand started glowing ominously…

Acorn found herself in Eda's room, seeing the nest empty. She flew down, making this nest her sleeping spot.

"Well, looks like this is a start of a new chapter for me," Acorn said as she settled in, using a tissue and cotton as her sheet and pillow.

Amity laid next to Luz in bed, the two girls holding each other as they slept together for the first time in over a week. However, despite being together again at last, the two were having trouble sleeping due to the day they had.

"You can't sleep either?" Luz asked her girlfriend.

"I've got a lot in my mind," Amity replied. "I'm glad to be back in bed with you, but I don't know if I can sleep after everything that happened and everything we've learned."

"I know," Luz responded. "I'm worried about mom, I'm worried about Dipper, and believe it not, I'm worried about Hunter to an extent." She couldn't help but think of the horned being that was involved in Philip's story. She then gave a sigh, "You know, with everyone back in the Boiling Isles, I hope for a break from our usual problems so that things can return to what passes for normal around here…"

"I am so down for a date," Amity said while she and Luz looked each other in the eyes. They held hands while they gave each other a kiss goodnight.

In the Emperor's Castle, Belos was completely alone in his throne room. He was sitting on his chair, having dismissed guards as he just wanted to sit there alone.

He removed his mask, pinching the bridge of his nose. He was… panting; trying to catch his breath and after he closed his eyes for a moment… he opened them and saw the ghostly image of Marilyn in front of him.

"Marilyn…" he said as the vision glared at her. Another spirit appeared next to her, resembling a younger version of Marilyn but with scars across her face. He recognized this vision as well. "No… please," he begged before he saw the ghost of his brother, William, with a bloody knife hovering over him. "No… stop!" He then saw the spirit of Delara Saltstar, looking at him sadly. "Please, I'm sorry!"

He rose up, but then fell on his knees, gripping on the floor as he had trouble breathing. When he looked up, the ghost he saw startled him the most. "No! Not you…"

It was Hunter, who glared at his uncle while missing an arm. Next to him was the burned Caleb...

"BELOS!"

He opened his eyes, finding himself being shaken by Abel. "Abel… what… where am-" He found himself still in his throne room, Abel handing him a cup of water.

"Drink this," Abel instructed, waiting for Belos to finish drinking. "Philip, we need to talk…"

Inside the Skull of the Titan, at the bottom of a dark abyss, there laid a human skeleton along with a mirror that sat in the remains of the shattered skull.

This was the final resting place of Gabriel Gates, who was still in the Skull of the Titan after all these years…

A lot of lore dump for this chapter, ain't it?

So this in any way isn't the end of Book 2 as many of you believed. Book 2 is not over yet, but this chapter can be considered an epilogue to the Human World Arc, completing one arc for this Saga. Basically Book 2 is still going, as we're now entering the third quarter of "Two Worlds, One Family" as we're bound to a fully new arc that will last until the events of "Hollow Mind".

For the chapter, we've got some info on the life and times of Philip Clawthorne, aka Emperor Belos. Now, this has been told from the point of view of Ghost and Flapjack, so we weren't seeing most of this from Philip's point of view. There are still a lot of blank areas in his backstory that will be filled in future chapters. Like, we didn't get to see what led to Marilyn and Philip fighting, mainly because Flapjack wasn't there for that. And Ghost wasn't there with Philip's other travels.

Eclipsa's trial with the Order has finally come into fruition. We've decided to have the trial as a B-plot to as a set up some… repercussions.

And many of you are wondering about Caleb/William, that being that William's original name was Caleb, and you must be wondering why did he named one of his children Caleb. Well to put it simply, while Philip was in the human realm, he researched about the Wittebanes and learned about their human family, and their original names. So to honor the names his birth parents gave him even though he no longer identified himself as that, William named one of his children Caleb.

And lastly, Belos was the one who helped created the Inner Demon. Yeah, if Belos hadn't brought that predator in the Isles, there'd be no Forest of Fear. And if it wasn't for Philip, Gabriel Gates would've remained obscured.

Plus, in this AU, Philip doesn't make a deal with the Collector, so that should answer your questions about it. Since the Collector is a Fae, Belos doesn't see him as a necessary, which is why the Horned King took the Collector's place.

For Trivia:

-"Not While I'm Around" song was taken from Sweeney Todd, and based on a fan animation by I like rice pudding.

-The three temple guides: Bendy Gabor is a reference to Beni Gabor from The Mummy movies and by appearance the infamous Bendy from Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends. Barracuda and Sapito the Sap are parodies of Barranca and Satipo from Raiders of the Lost Arc, while Monsieur Boots is an obvious parody of Puss in Boots.

-Gray Carnivants are another Boiling Isles creatures that if wanting to know about their appearance, I recommend think of them as stand-ins for Durants from Pokemon.

-The Abomi-Knight theme is inspired by the Flash Gordon theme. The villains Adam faced are the Blood Pumpernickel, who is a parody of Daffy Duck's Scarlet Pumpernickel from the Looney Tunes short, mixed with the Cavalier from Batman: Brave and the Bold.

-Stripoder and Merchalite are parodies of Stinkor and Mer-Man from Masters of the Universe.

-Genie poses as Saul Goodman, a character from the tv series Breaking Bad, and the star of his own spin-off, Better Call Saul.

-"Burn Butcher Burn" was a song from the Netflix series "The Witcher."

-Some more lore around the SSE, that being there's an original SSE, which is a direct homage to Scooby-Doo: Mystery Incorporated.

Guess that's it for author's notes, now to answer reviews:

BlueKnight-X2: It's not over yet…

Matteso: 1) Maybe. 2) Not familiar with Temeluchus. 3) Yes. 4) No Spoilers. 5) You can't just kill the teachers you don't like.

OMAC001: Whatever your definition of great is…

RJWritingInk: Yeah we did good with the Angel twist,. As for your second review question, Wander and Sylvia took a wrong turn when they make it to our galaxy, and yeah Atlantis is the most underrated Disney film. We can't answer how Helga survived yet. Don't worry, this won't be the last time we'll see Stan, which would be a while on the long run to see him again. And yeah, we have dubbed this the LCU…

Shuffollower: We'll see Anne, Sasha, Sprig and Polly again sometime soon, and some things will be unraveled soon.

JTK: Still alive.

Next chapter, a little R & R for our heroes in this new story arc...
