Chapter 1 - Portgas D. Ace
Lucy - 4, Ace - 7
Ace was such a happy child. Rogue didn't know what happened. She notices Ace's smile dimming since he started going to school.
At first, Ace was so excited about going to school and meeting children his age since no one in their neighborhood was young enough to be considered Ace's age.
After the first day Ace had a few bruises which worried Rogue so much but Ace only laughed saying they were only playing tag and his friends pushed him a little bit too hard. Rogue was hesitant but accepted the reason. So after the next few days when Ace went home without a single scratch, Rogue was happy. Until after a month since he started school.
Ace came home one day grumpy with bruises, cuts, and blood all over his body and face. Rogue wanted to march in the school for explanation but Ace stopped her saying there was some mean bullies that tried to attack a friend so he protected him. Rogue did'nt believed him but still accepted the reason.
Since then she tried to ask what really happened in the school everyday. Ace would only giggle and tell her everything is fine and he met a new friend again.
Until Ace was sent to the hospital with a bloody face. The moment Rogue saw his boy's face, her reasoning all snapped and she directly went to the school and demand an explanation.
She was told that Ace was being bullied in the school but Ace didn't asked anybody for help. He kept on beating all the kids up even twice his size. But that day the kids all ganged up on him so he was badly beaten.
Rogue went on a rampage and demanded to talk to the kid's parents but the damn principal was protecting the kids because their parents are the main donors. So, the very next day Rogue transferred him to another school.
She personally looked for a proper school that prioritized safety of the kids.
She was hoping that things would get better when Ace transferred to another school.
But it didn't.
She could say it didn't get worse.
But it also didn't get any better.
"I don't know what to do Stacy." Rogue complained
"Ace is a bright boy Rogue. You just have to talk to him." Stacy comforter her
Rogue and Stacy are best friends since they're children. It was actually Rogue that introduced Stacy to Dragon. Garp was pleased with that, until he found out Stacy's job, and side job.
"He refuse to tell me anything." Rogue groaned "I could literally see the shadows dragging him to the dark side!"
"Maybe Ace just needed someone to pull him back to the bright side?" Stacy teased
Rogue glared at her, "If there is one I would have dragged them to meet my boy." she sigh "I refuse to introduce him to Roger's old crew." she added when Stacy giggled "That would only worsen Ace's condition." she frowned
"Well, I was hinting about introducing Lucy." Stacy giggled
"Oh! How is the girl?" Rogue brighten up "Its been years Stacy and I haven't even saw the girl."
"I've been busy with this mission." Stacy said
"I know, haven't met you in what, 3 to 4 years?" Rogue laughed
"Then Dragon grew to this over-protective dad that refuses to introduce Lucy to children her age." Stacy laughed
"How old is she now? 4? I'm surprised she's not complaining." Rogue laughed
"Oh, that's why Dragon was this protective. Lucy was so innocent and naive. She's this little ball of sunshine that could literally light up the world." Stacy giggled "Dragon was so scared she'll be stolen by anyone who meet her."
"I'm quite worried." Rogue frowned "Ace grew to hate super optimistic people. There was this one time Ace punched this kid who annoyed him in the park. The poor boy kept on dragging Ace to play with him." Rogue laughed "The poor boy cried. I never run so fast with Ace my entire life."
"I never expect the kind Rogue run away from the kid that her child punched." Stacy laughed
Rogue looked at her offended "I wouldn't have run, but the boy's mother was huge and when I was about to apologize, she drew a fucking sword at me! I didn't even saw her hold a fucking sword!" Rogue rant "The marines present didn't even do a damn thing!"
Stacy was roaring in laughter as Rogue told her all their mother and son adventures.
"I think Ace and Lucy would just go along fine." Stacy giggled "The girl is magnet for trouble."
"Is that really wise? Letting two troublesome children run along together?" Rogue giggled
Stacy grinned "But wouldn't that be interesting to watch?"
Rogue laughed "Ah, I forgot watching chaos was your favorite hobby!"
Lucy - 5 Ace - 8
"Are you excited to meet a new friend, Ace?" Roger asked as he and Ace helped Rogue set up the table for Christmas dinner. Their family friend Dragon and his daughter would come join them.
"I don't care." Ace deadpan
"Come on Ace, don't be like that." Rogue pouted, puting down the plates "You know, this might be the start of a really romantic friendship." she giggled where Ace just frowned
"Stop it Rogue. My granddaughter is 5." Garp deadpan entering the dinning room with two bottles of alcohol. He handed one to Roger and drank the other.
"Come on Garp, don't be like that! My Ace is a good boy." Roger laughed
"Sure, if Ace would just accept his fate as a marine." Garp laughed
"I don't want to be a freaking marine." Ace yelled glaring at Garp "I don't want to even meet your stupid grand daugther."
Rogue frowned "That's not nice Ace. I'm sure Lucy is a sweet girl."
Garp laughed "Lucy sure is the sweetest. But I can't say she is the smartest… or even close to being smart." he sigh "The girl is stupid as a rock."
Roger laughed at Garp "How can you say that you your own granddaughter?"
"They should be here by now." Rogue said as the sound of a car pulled over in their driveway.

Ace groaned as he glared at the adult talking and laughing together. He really want to go to his room and lock himself up. But his mom wouldn't want that.
