Charlie entered the Innovation room, not seeing anything that out of the ordinary just yet. He began to look around, trying to see if anything was sticking out. It wasn't obvious, so Charlie kept searching. He checked out the machine that made various pizza's but didn't see anything there. He looked over at the mixer with various clothes and the bicycle, but he found nothing. Charlie was going to move on to a different room, when he noticed something at the Everlasting Gobbstopper station.
He noted that when he first got to visit the Invention room, he was introduced to the Everlasting Gobbstopper station. What he noted was the fact that the machine was covered up so that no one knew how it was made. But Mr. Wonka had eventually released the Everlasting Gobbstopper, and the sheet that was covered up the machine wasn't supposed to be their anymore. When he noticed the sheet was back on the machine, Charlie smiled.
He slowly made his towards the machine and waited a couple of seconds. Then, he pulled off the sheet and saw Veruca underneath it.
"AH!" Vercua cried out.
"Found ya." Charlie said.
Veruca quickly got up out from underneath the machine and lightly pushed Charlie.
"That's not fair!"
"Why not? I counted to 500."
"You weren't supposed to find me first. I was supposed to last at least a little longer."
"Well, at least you won't have to be cramped in an uncomfortable place. Would it be alright if I could get some help finding the others?"
Charlie saw Veruca's annoyance on her face quickly turn to excitement.
"Oh, heck yeah I'm in. Even if I didn't win, I could still make people lose."
Charlie liked the enthusiasm but felt that it was being misplaced in what someone was excited about.
"So, have you seen anyone come along here before you hid?"
"Of course. That Augustus boy came in here right after me, and it looked like he was heading deeper into the factory. I think he mentioned something about sodas."
"That probably means he's heading for the Fizzy Lifting Drinks Room. Let's head over their first."
Charlie and Veruca made their way out of the Invention Room and had begun to make their way towards the Fizzy Lifting Drinks Room when Charlie and Veruca stopped at the wall of fruits.
"Of God, this room. I always felt disgusted just licking the wall with those fruits…even though you could taste the flavors." Veruca said.
"Yeah, I understand. I still remember the combination of fruits and wallpaper in my mouth." Charlie said.
Charlie and Veruca began to make their way out of the hallway, when Charlie heard a loud drumming noise. This time it was louder than the previous time.
"Veruca, did you hear that?" Charlie asked.
"Hear what? Are you hearing things?" Veruca said.
"Oh…I guess it's nothing then."
Charlie sighed as he continued to walk with Veruca towards the Fizzy Lifting Room.
"Hey Charlie, where is Mr. Wonka actually? I haven't seen him in the factory at all today."
"There's a reason for that. Usually every Sunday Mr. Wonka likes to take some time off to spend time with some of the Oompa Loompas. Today he's spending time with some of them inside the Taffy Room."
"That's…oddly specific. How come you know everything about what Mr. Wonka is doing."
"I mean…I did win the competition."
"Yeah, by being the nice guy I know. That doesn't necessarily make you better at everything. I don't think you realize how much it actually takes to run a factory this size."
"Sure I do. I just have to trust Mr. Wonka is giving me the tools in order to continue his legacy."
"Yeah, his legacy. You keep mentioning that all the time about his legacy. Why can't you do it yourself? Make your mark in the future of his factory."
"That's not important right now. What's important is finding the others and finishing the game."
Veruca huffed at Charlie.
"Fine. Let's keep this game going. But why do you think Mr. Wonka brought us all back here even though we lost?"
Charlie had to pause from his search as he tried to understand what Veruca was implying.
"What are you saying? That Mr. Wonka still thinks that everyone else has a shot? That's not true, it's been over a year now. He would have said something to me about keeping his search going."
"Then maybe ask him that question when you see him next time. Maybe that will get some answers out of him."
Charlie didn't say anything else to Veruca as he and Veruca kept walking. Charlie didn't want to listen to what Veruca was saying. She had to be wrong, Mr. Wonka wouldn't keep up the charade that there was still a competition going on would he? I mean, he already had chosen him because of his kindness. Was Mr. Wonka doing something without Charlie's knowledge? Or was Veruca just trying to get into his head to make him make a mistake?
Charlie was interrupted by Veruca going to her left. Charlie looked up and saw various bubbles coming out from the left. Which meant that they were at Fizzy Lifting Drinks Room. Charlie joined Veruca to enter the room. Charlie saw a large metal cylindrical area where in the center, there was about 100 different varieties in soda bottles, all with different colors and unique shapes. Charlie didn't bother looking up as he didn't want to look at the fan that was whirring above.
"HA! Got ya!"
Charlie saw Veruca pulls Augustus out from a steel locker, and Augustus already had a messy look, as he had chocolate stains on his face and clothes. He looked like he didn't really try that hard to hide.
"Hey, I got a good meal in ya?" Augustus said.
"Quit it. Let's find the others, okay?" Veruca said.
Augustus nodded, and Veruca and him left the Fizzy Lifting Drinks Room. Charlie was about to follow, but he stopped when he suddenly noticed something strange. He looked underneath the machine and saw that one of the metal floor plates was undone. Charlie felt an odd sense of desire rush over him, as if he was being called.
Charlie slowly moves closer and closer to the metal floor plate, as the desire continue to grow.
Closer
Charlie didn't know where the voice came from, but he continues to move ever closer. Soon he got on his hands and knees as the voice kept getting louder and louder and the desire was reaching a boiling point. Charlie then removed the metal floor plate and looked at what was in the place.
"Wow."
Charlie soon discovered something that he didn't even think was possible. Inside was a board game that he had never even heard about before, with the cover tile being called Zamuk. From what he could see, the board game was covered with Amazonia culture, and he also noticed two spears being crossed over the title to look like crossbones. The color was a dark brown flavor, having the feel of the game being made in the late 1800's.
"What the heck are you still doing in here Charlie?"
Charlie looked behind and saw that Veruca and Augustus had found Violet and Mike.
"I've found a new game we can play."
