(Esther sits up then turns to Mr. Nezzer)

Esther: What is it, Nebby?

(Mr. Nezzer gasps then turns to Esther)

Mr. Nezzer: You're...you're alive.

Esther: Of course I'm alive.

(Mr. Nezzer sighs in relief then hugs Esther)

Mr. Nezzer: I...I was so afraid that...

Esther: That what?

(Mr. Nezzer moves away slightly then looks down)

Mr. Nezzer: Nothing.

(Esther scoots closer to Mr. Nezzer then leans her head against his)

Mr. Nezzer: Not just you.

(Mr. Nezzer looks down at Esther's small round stomach)

Esther: Our baby?

(Mr. Nezzer nods then looks back up at Esther)

Mr. Nezzer: I dreamed that there were complications. You kept screaming and screaming in pain and then you suddenly stopped and then you were...(choking back a sob) y-you were...

(Esther kisses Mr. Nezzer's cheek)

Esther: Then what happened?

Mr. Nezzer: Then they had to cut the baby out...and it was...

(Mr. Nezzer's eyes fill with tears then Esther kisses his cheek)

Esther: It's okay. You don't have to say anymore.

(Mr. Nezzer nods then sighs then turns to Esther then presses their foreheads together)

Mr. Nezzer: (Voice cracking) I don't know what I'd do if I lost you (looks down at Esther's stomach) or our baby.

(Mr. Nezzer looks back up at Esther then inches closer to her face till their noses are also touching)

Mr. Nezzer: You two mean the world to me. If something happened to you, my life wouldn't be the same.

Esther: You won't ever lose us, Nebby.

(Esther kisses Mr. Nezzer)

Esther: It was only a nightmare. I'm okay and the baby's okay.

Mr. Nezzer: (Sniffling) I can't help but be nervous though, Essie.

Esther: Nothing's gonna go wrong, Nebby. We'll be fine.

(Esther kisses Mr. Nezzer's cheek)

Esther: Besides, we have you around. And more importantly, God is also watching over us. He will make sure we're taken care of.

(Mr. Nezzer smiles)

Mr. Nezzer: You're right.

(Esther also smiles then kisses Mr. Nezzer)

Esther: Feel better now?

(Mr. Nezzer nods then kisses Esther's cheek)

Mr. Nezzer: Let's go to sleep.

(Mr. Nezzer leans over then kisses Esther's stomach)

Mr. Nezzer: Please keep them safe, Lord.

(Mr. Nezzer falls asleep)

Junior: The storm is really loud, isn't it?

Libby: I tried to sleep, but couldn't.

Christina: Same with me.

(The kids hear the thunder then yelp then the hallway is flooded with light from the lightning then the kids huddle together)

Junior: M-Maybe we should sleep in Mom and Dad's bedroom tonight.

(The kids hear the thunder then hurriedly go over to Archibald and Petunia's bedroom door)

(The next scene is inside Archibald and Petunia's bedroom. They're both sitting up in bed then Archibald turns to Petunia concerned)

Archibald: Is the storm stressing you or the baby out?

(Petunia leans against Archibald)

Petunia: No, it's just so loud, I can't get any sleep.

Archibald: Indeed. Me too.

(The door suddenly swings open then Archibald and Petunia look over and see Junior, Christina and Libby standing there)

Petunia: (Giggles) Looks like the storm woke somebody else too.

Junior: M-Mom? D-Dad? Can we sleep in your bed tonight?

Archibald: (Worriedly) Are you afraid of the storm outside?

Libby: No, of course not Daddy.

Christina: Yeah. We're brave.

(The kids hear the thunder then quickly go over to the bed)

Junior: (Voice trembling) M-Mom, D-Dad, please let us stay in here! We are scared!

Archibald: Alright. Alright. Don't worry. You can sleep in here with us.

Petunia: Come on. Hop on.

(The kids hop onto the bed then Archibald holds Junior and Christina close while Petunia does the same with Libby)

Junior: (Crying) I want the storm to stop, Dad!

Christina: (Crying) Me too!

Archibald: (Softly) Shh, shh. I've got you. You're both safe.

Libby: (Crying) I want the storm to stop too, Mommy!

(Petunia kisses the top of Libby's head then continues hugging her)

Petunia: (Softly) I know sweetheart, I know.

(Archibald and Petunia continue holding the kids while they cry quietly then the thunder stops then Archibald looks down at Christina and Junior)

Archibald: (Softly) It's alright now. The storm's over.

Junior: (Crying) But we're still scared, Dad!

Christina: (Crying) What if it happens again?

Libby: (Crying) It's gonna happen again, isn't it, Mom?

(Petunia and Archibald continue holding the kids close then look at each other concerned)

Archibald: (Worriedly) Petunia, what are we going to do?

(Petunia looks like she has an idea then smiles)

Petunia: What always works to help our kids go to sleep when they're not tired or just had a nightmare?

(Archibald smiles then nods then Petunia looks at the kids)

Petunia: Will a lullaby help?

(The kids nod frowning)

Petunia: Okay then.

(Archibald places Christina and Junior on the end of the bed followed by Petunia who places Libby next to them then Archibald lays down then Petunia lays down next to him then they turn to the kids)

Archibald: Alright, everyone together.

Petunia: Come on. Huddle in.

(Archibald places Junior on his lap then Christina lays between them then Libby lays against Archibald's other side)

Petunia: Are you ready?

Kids: Yeah.

SONG: HOPE'S SONG

Archibald: There's a story that started on Christmas when a baby was born in the night and those who came far who followed the star were seeing a heavenly sight (Junior falls asleep against his chest) a heavenly sight.

Petunia: Well, the years hurried by and the boy, now a man, could make the blind see with a Touch of His hand. He was born to be King, he was Rabbi and Priest, but the best that He had, He gave to the least. He gave to the least.

(Archibald and Petunia look down at Christina between them)

Archibald and Petunia: He was born and He died almost 2,000 years ago, He laughed and He cried, He felt all the fears we know, but what does it matter? A story so strange (Christina's eyes begin closing) Even if it's true, what does it change? (Christina falls asleep) What does it change?

(Archibald and Petunia look at each other then kiss then Archibald carefully picks up the still sleeping Christina and Junior then carries them out of the room then Petunia picks up Libby then carries her over to the window)

Petunia: Well, He spoke like a prophet, like no one they'd heard, the simple young carpenter, crowds hung on every word. He hated injustice, He taught what was right (rubs her nose against Libby's then continues rocking her) He said, I'm the way and the truth and the light.

(Archibald then comes up beside her then they both look down at Libby who's eyes begin opening and closing)

Archibald and Petunia: His friends soon believed that truly He was the one. The Savior, Messiah, God's one and only Son, but others they doubted, they did not agree.

(Petunia hands the nearly asleep Libby over to Archibald then they continue looking down at her)

Archibald: So they took Him, they tried Him

Petunia: He died on a tree (kisses the now sleeping Libby's forehead) He died on a tree.

END OF SONG

(Archibald and Libby look down at Libby nestled against Archibald then they look at each other then Petunia kisses Archibald's cheek then he carries Libby out of the room then Petunia sits down then looks down at her small round stomach)

Petunia: (To her stomach, softly) Goodnight to you too. Still can't wait to meet you in 5 more months.

(Archibald comes back into the room then sits down on the bed beside Petunia then kisses her forehead then leans over and kisses her stomach)

Archibald: (To Petunia's stomach, softly) Daddy also can't wait to see you. Goodnight, my little one.

(Archibald sits back up then Petunia leans against him)
