A/N: We are up to date with the Spanish version.

Thanks to Katherine.

I have been searching for information on Mr. Martin for at least two hours. At first, I did it with his name, but after a while I decided to search for "crime physical education teacher" and results did not only appear from France, but from other countries. I narrow the search down to fifteen years ago, and yet there are still plenty of cases. Physical education teachers have a high tendency to be run over, mugged, murdered, corrupt, rapists, murderers, scammers, abusers... And it does not end.

"Kagami-san, it is very late and tomorrow you have patrol. Go yo bed." Longg orders me half asleep on his cushion.

I decide to listen to him. Tomorrow morning I will have a clear mind. I will also spend the day with my friends. Chloe has invited Alix and me to her suite.

I get up from my chair and slowly go to my bed. Yes, I am tired.

I do not fall asleep completely, but rather remain in a state between consciousness and torpor. I feel the sheets and the weight of the bedspread, I can hear my own heart, but my body is very heavy and I cannot move. It could have been a long time or a little, I do not know.

I feel a pressure on the edge of my jaw, a pressure up my cheek. It seems... a caress.

A caress?

I try to move my heavy body as I feel a hand resting on my face. My heartbeat speeds up. I cannot move for a few seconds, like I have sleep paralysis.

Finally, I manage to open my eyes and sit up.

There is no one here. Only Longg, sleeping, just as he was before. I know it was not him.

I look around carefully: the armor, the closet, the desk, the swords on the wall, and the cello in the corner, all illuminated by the dim night light. There are strange shadows, but no people.

I pick up my phone and get up. I go out into the corridor and illuminate with the flashlight of the mobile. There is still no one. My heart has not calmed down yet and I do not want to wander around the house in the dark.

I go back to my room and sit on the bed, waiting to calm down, but I cannot sleep a wink all night.

I arrive at Chloe's father's hotel. My mother has allowed me to come, only because I have told her that I have finished all my homework. It is a lie, as Alix taught me to do. She wants me to come back before dark, but she cannot see when it is dark, so I will be back whenever I want.

Upon entering I am greeted by a young blonde woman. Although more than receiving, one could speak of harassing. She just walks up to me, of all the people who walk in, and invades my personal space.

"What would you like?" she asks with a smile, which, I do not know why, I do not like. Also, why is she asking my reason for being here? The others has entered without questioning.

"I have come to see my friend."

The woman continues with that same smile.

"And who is your friend?"

They are not doing this to anyone else. I look around: they are all adults. That could be the reason. Although I also realize that there are only whites here. But, it cannot be that, right? The mayor of Paris would not dare do something so brazen.

"It is none of your business." I answer her. In any case, she has no right to know anything about my private life.

I hear a loud click of heels and look in its direction to find a woman dressed in black and white with a huge hat.

She gives me the feeling. The same as with Adrien's father, the unknown old lady and Marinette. The feeling that she is not a good person.

She stands next to us and looks me up and down. She wrinkles her nose.

"Let her in. She is Lucy's other friend."

Who is Lucy?

The woman gestures for me to leave. I do not want to be around her any longer, so I head for the lift. Chloe told me that her suite is on the floor just below the roof.

"I can't believe that she has changed Adrien Agreste for that two." she says in a low tone, not knowing that I have heard her.

So that woman is her mother. She is a jerk.

Chloe's suite is huge, it has everything. Including two girls sitting on opposite ends of the sofa.

"Kagami, you've arrived!" exclaim the blonde with great joy. It almost looks like Rose.

"What happened? Have you discussed?"

She shakes her head.

"No." second Alix. "We've only talked. I thought that she invited us with the intention of doing something similar to what we did the other time."

"And something happened." I speculate.

"No." they both answer at the same time.

I think something has happened. They do not want to tell me.

"We're not doing any work or homework today. We're just going to enjoy ourselves."

Chloe thinks about having a film day. Specifically, drama. Romantic drama and teen drama.

We have sat on her sofa, in front of a huge television screen. I am in the middle. Chloe looks for a movie with the remote.

"Are you talking seriously? Why not watch a superhero movie, better?" Alix complains. She is leaning forward a bit, so Chloe can see her.

"Why would I want to see a movie of my day to day? The idea is to get away from work."

She imitates her gesture, leaving me in the middle of the conversation.

"Romantic movies are completely everyday. It can literally happen to anyone."

To that statement, the blonde reacts... badly? She takes a deep breath before speaking.

"Not me! I don't have a love life!"

There is a silence after that.

I honestly do not want to talk about the boy she likes. If what Alix says is true, I do not know anything about him and have nothing to contribute to such a conversation.

I grab the remote from her and select the first movie that appears.

It is a bunch of American clichés about how teenage girls behave. If it were Japanese, it would be very different. For starters, they could not wear pink on Wednesdays.

The butler is already bringing food as we watch. It is a salad. In my opinion, it is a fruit salad, but Chloe affirms that it is not, before pouring half a pot of honey on it. Alix watches the food warily at first, though she ends up eating it.

"You look just like Regina." declares Alix suddenly.

Chloe seems to take offense to that. Before they argue again, I intervene.

"It is true that you are alike in some ways: you are both blondes with blue eyes, beautiful, rich, you are obsessed with your weight. But there is a fundamental difference. They adore her despite everything she has done, and you are hated."

She is a manipulator who plays the victim, something she has in common with Marinette. Chloe is not like that. She is sincere, sometimes bordering on cruel. She tells people what they do not want to hear and I think that is a good thing, although it would be to her benefit to change her ways.

I realize that no one has said anything.

Alix looks at me with wide eyes and Chloe's brows scowl, her mouth hanging open. Something has happened, I think they have not reached the same conclusion.

"She is fake and manipulative, you are not."

That lightens the mood, but Alix does not want to keep watching the movie. She says that the girls are too cruel to each other.

"If we stop watching movies because of you, you will have to do a challenge. Like Kim's." Chloe puts on a strange smile. "And Kagami will be a judge."

What exactly will I be a judge of? I feel confident. I know that I can be a fair judge.

"OK. I'm used to beating Kim. With you I can too."

They both look at me.

"What?"

"Choose what we have to do."

How am I going to do it? I am not used to this. I am a serious and responsible person and... I already know.

"Which of the two of you can say more words in Japanese?"

Their reactions are very different. The subsequent result is coming to me.

"You can't be serious."

"Of course I do. I won and the winner gets a prize. That's how you do it with Kim.'

Alix looks at me, waiting for me to side with her. I cannot, Chloe won fairly. She said twelve words in Japanese, according to her, because Adrien forces her to watch original version anime. Alix, on the other hand, has only said brand names.

With resignation, Alix follows Chloe into her dressing room.

Now that I am alone, I realize that I have not thought about what happened tonight in a long time. That provokes two contrary emotions in me, which fight to be the dominant one. On one hand, I feel happy that my friends are able to distract me like this. For another, remembering it makes me feel insecure.

I glance at Longg, who is having a conversation with Fluff and Pollen.

I am not going to bother him, he sees them very little, since we cannot always let them out.

The girls leave the dressing room. Chloe is the same, but Alix is wearing a yellow and pink striped dress, which makes her look like candy. As she described it in the delegate election.

"You look like a…" I start to speak, but she interrupts me.

"Don't say it, I don't want to know."

"We're not done yet."

After saying that, they both head to the bathroom.

They leave me alone again and I try to distract myself. I see the films we were supposed to watch. Do western girls really behave like that? Not that the Japanese are much of a better person, but they were so ridiculous.

While they are in there, they knock on the door. The kwamis quickly hide and I invite the butler Jean, who has already come earlier to bring lunch.

This time he brings a cart with a tray full of sweets and a brand new jar of honey for Chloe. He leaves without making a sound.

There are many French sweets. I am not sure what they are called, since it is not something that I am used to eat.

"He brought sweets."

"It's for a snack. Start eating if you feel like it."

As it is not something that I like very much, I do not touch them, but I do warn the kwamis. Some of them will like them.

"How are you? Are you talking a lot?"

The three nod.

"Have they left you alone? Longg asks."

"No, it is just that Chloe is giving Alix a makeover."

Just as I say it, they both come out.

The first remains the same, of course. The second has come to look like a themed doll from a candy universe in a children's movie. She is made up in yellow and pink and has her hair done. She is hardly recognized.

She makes a very strange expression. She seems upset, but there is something else. She is very funny. And it is in stark contrast to Chloe's smile.

When I see it I cannot help it and I laugh.

The two close in on me immediately. I think they are surprised. I am too. I do not usually laugh a lot, as it is hard for me to find something funny.

"Has she laughed?"

"She laughed."

The two smile, but it does not last long, because they start arguing again.

"It was me."

"What are you saying? It was me who did your makeup."

"But I'm the funny one of the two, you're bitter."

"Why do not you come and eat something?"

The two approach the cart, grab something and sit on the sofa.

Chloe begins to pour honey on her cake until it almost covers it completely.

Iam glad she is eating something other than a salad, something that adds fat. Although she does not eat it whole, she feeds part of it to Pollen.

"Why don't you ask for Medovík to be brought to you?"

What is that? From the context it must be some kind of cake.

The blonde raises her eyebrows.

"It's a Russian honey cake." clarifies Alix. "It's very good. And it would save you adding honey yourself."

"Oh, ok. My mother has ordered the hotel to have only French food."

I think so, my impression above is correct. I am going to make sure.

"Why is that?"

She sighs.

"My mother hates Russians, Asians, Arabs, Latin Americans and blacks. Also south of Europe and Eastern Europe."

As I feared. Her mother is a racist.

"Your mother is an asshole."

I am not at all surprised to hear that from Alix.

Chloe looks at the table. I think she is uncomfortable. There is a heavy silence.

"So, which of the two made you laugh?"

"The last akuma, from two days ago, was the self-identified "Volpina". Let's see some images."

The image of the presenter and the commentators disappears to give way to a very distant shot of Queen Bee, Bunnyx and me together with Lila akumatized.

It looks like we were getting closer, we spoke little with her and we followed her, nothing more. They do not show how Bunnyx realized that she was a trap.

"As you all have seen, our defenders followed the akuma after exchanging a few words. There is a divided opinion regarding this fact. We would all like to know what they are and their arguments."

After the presenter says that, several of the commentators speak at the same time, until one prevails over the others.

"I, and many other people, think that it is a careless action, which shows their lack of experience, clearly due to their age. That's why they should retire and leave the police, the professionals."

The police do not know anything about fighting akumas. They cannot do it and they have not tried much either, despite the mayor's promise. They really like to criticize us, but we are the only ones who can do something.

"Actually, that would not be possible, at least not according to themselves." rebuts another commentator. "They claim that only they can kill the akumas. And it's clear they can't beat him. They have been almost a year and there is only destruction, damage and more akumas. And I say, why don't they give Hawk Moth what he wants? That way at least Paris would be quiet."

What? How can someone on television suggest such a thing? He is openly siding with Hawk Moth. Is this what Alix meant by paying the networks?

But we do not know what he wants. It could be harmful. With the police, the army and even with the help of other countries we should be able to defeat the akumas. They have to get out of the way.

From the sounds of it, the two opinions the show is talking about are whether we should just leave it or outright pander to the terrorist. No one on our side.

This is how people's opinion of us changes.

"Leave that, Kagami-san. It is always the same. They are not going to change."

Yes, its the best.

I turn off the TV and decide to make my school lunch tomorrow. A bento.

I am not a great cook, but I can make enough to support myself. I make a salad, a spiced grilled pork fillet and a tortilla wrap. It is not very caloric, so I will also take a cupcake.

"Do not you think doing this does not fit with what you said about adapting to France?" Longg asks.

What is he referring to? I said that I wanted to behave like a French because I now live here. Nothing from Japan. I am making food for recess tomorrow. A lot of people bring food.

Longg points to the box, the bento.

Of courae. They carry food but no bentos. I do not know how I did not notice before. Starting tomorrow I will bring food that can be put in a bag.

I put all the food in the bento and put it in the fridge. This will be the last time. Now I have to go to bed, I did not sleep well tonight and I need to be rested to perform well in class tomorrow.

But I am afraid to sleep. A fear that is confirmed when I wake up in the middle of the night and hear noises.

I know it is not my mother because she told me that she was not coming back tonight. She leaves at odd times and she does not tell me why.

I am on alert.

"Longg, wake up. Is there someone at home."

His small figure moves slightly as I slowly get up.

"Longg!"

That wakes him up and he gets up at once. I explain to him what is happening.

"Do not you think it could be your mother? Look the hour."

He points to the clock on my desk. Five and thirteen in the morning. It is possible.

I head to the living room, where the noises seem to come from. If something strange happens again, I will transform.

I peek carefully from the hallway. I have not turned on any lights. I do not like moving in the dark, luckily some moonlight enters, although not too much.

I see a figure bent over a piece of furniture. I cannot quite tell who it is because my mother would not turn on the light either.

It is not until the figure straightens up that I see that it would be impossible for it to be my mother. He is very tall, he must be a man.

"Longg, tran…" I start to whisper, but he interrupts me.

"No."

I glance sideways at the figure. He has not heard us.

"No?"

"You cannot appear as Ryuko in a random house right when it is being robbed. You have never done it with anyone else. You would give yourself away."

I had not thought of it. Alix says that I am very impulsive. I have to come up with a second plan instead of acting without thinking.

But what do I do with such a big man? I have not brought my mobile phone, so I cannot call the police. I cannot beat him physically so I do not want to turn my back on him. Although I should try to go back to my room and call the police.

Yes, I am going to do that. It is the safest.

The man moves in my direction, forcing me down another hallway further from my room.

I have been thinking too much and now I cannot call the police.

"What I do?" I ask Longg.

"Grab a sword. It will give you an advantage. I do not think that man knows how to use them."

Does that mean he thinks I should fight? And if I die? He would do something, right?

It does not matter. I do not fear of death. However, that does not mean that I am suicidal. I am not going to die if I can help it.

I will take the first sword I see. They are scattered throughout the house. My mom likes to show them off, even though she cannot see them.

I walk into my mother's library, where she keeps her braille books, separate from mine in print.

I know there has to be one here. The only rooms where there are none are the kitchen and the bathroom. I still do not know the distribution because we have too many.

Upon entering I realize that I see better than before. It is Sunrising. I must hurry before that man sees me.

I turn to the door and look at the wall above it, it is the only place where there is not a bookcase.

Damn. The one here is the replica of the dako, from the Kofun Tomio Maruyama.

I leave as fast as I can and try to get to my mother's room. The man sees me, and I see his face clearly.

He drops what he is carrying and runs in my direction as I walk into the room and try to close it. I put my weight on the door, but the man has more strength.

My heart races and my palms sweat when I reach for the nearest sword. It's a tachi.

I grab it with both hands and get into a fighting stance.

The stranger enters immediately.

I hope my threatening position discourages him from attacking me, however, it does not.

He grabs another sword and makes a careless move, which I easily parry. I do not attack, I do not want to hurt him, just stop him.

It is best to disarm him and corner him against the wall.

He tries another attack, which I deflect, leaving a gap that allows me to get closer to him. With a quick movement, I manage to put the edge of my sword on his neck. So he must feel threatened enough not to try anything else.

His expression is strange. I do not know what he is thinking, but he does not seem scared or given up. He should be, I have won.

"Drop the sword. Let's go to my room, I will call the police."

He obeys me, letting the sword make a high-pitched, rumbling noise. He now is unarmed.

But he is a big and strong man, much more strong than me.

He grabs my wrist and squeezes really hard. I try to get away, struggling with him, but I get nothing. He takes the tachi from me and drops it on the ground. He easily lifts me into the air and slams me against the wall. The blow to the head hurts a lot.

"I'm sorry, I'm so sorry. I have to do it. I wish you had stayed in your room and never seen me."

He puts a hand on my neck. He is going to kill me.

I struggle again, kicking. I try to separate his hand with both of mine.

I restrained myself so as not to hurt him. He went all out. I was not aware of my situation. He did it.

He puts out the other hand. I start to run out of air.

I have sought this position myself. I will die and it will be deserved. For stupid.

My eyes water. I kick with all the strength I have left.

If I get past this, I will not make the same mistake again.

The edges of my vision go black.

Longg. Longg will save me right?

"Release my daughter. I am not as benevolent as her. If I have to cut something for you, I will do it without hesitation."

That is my mother's voice.

I stop feeling the pressure on my neck and fell to the ground.

"You're blind." says the man.

"Being blind does not make me less of an Asian fencing champion. Like I said, if you do not want me to cut something for you, DO. NOT. MOVE. I have already called the police. You cannot do anything."

The police arrest the thief and call the ambulance to get me checked out.

In a while I have managed to recover quite well. I can see normally again, I am not dizzy or my head hurts, just my throat hurts.

The police want to collect the testimony of both of us, beginning with my mother, who is the one who called them.

She tells them that she arrived around six, according to her voice assistant. Upon entering the house, she heard the noise of a sword falling to the ground and she collided with objects that were near the front door. She then heard a man's voice from inside the house and ordered her voice assistant to call the police. Believing that I was in danger, she took one of the swords from the hall and came our way to threaten the thief.

"Where did you come from?"

"From a friend's house, I can give you his phone number, but I do not see why this is relevant."

"In a criminal investigation we need to know the alibi of everyone involved."

My mother was at a friend's house? All night long? That means she has a new partner and she has not told me anything. She never tells me anything.

This is not the time to think about that.

Después de terminar con ella, me toca a mí, aunque el mío es más largo y me cuesta más hablar. Deciden dejarlo para después de que me revise el médico.

After they are done with her, it is my turn, even though mine is longer and it is harder for me to talk. They decide to leave it until after I get checked out by the doctor.

The health check is short because I am fine. He just tells me not to talk much for a few days.

Testimony is an inevitability, so I will have to talk less after I do it.

Still, the cops decide to stay at home collecting evidence. One of them accompanies us to a nearby coffee shop in the meantime.

I cannot go to school today. We have breakfast here. Before school starts, I get a call. It is Alix.

"What happened? Why haven't you come today? Are you sick?"

A/N:

1 I searched the Internet for the largest sword in the world and it turns out to be this. I read it in an article in La Vanguardia written by David Ruiz Marull. The sword measures 2'67 meters.

2 I don't know what it was used for, but it is from Japan.
