A Dog's Purpose Is Strange Magic 2 Chapter 19

By the time Christmas comes around Bailey is pretty sure that Hogwarts is emptier than it had been the previous year during this holiday interval.

All this stuff involving the Chamber of Secrets and all these random attacks going around has made the students want to clear out and make a break for safety as soon as possible. It's thrown nearly everyone into a near panic, especially the part about Nearly Headless Nick. Inside everyone's heads, they are thinking the same exact thing. Anything that can put a ghost into such a damaged state when they are already dead is clearly very deadly and much contain tremendous power behind whatever it is using. Basically, all the Muggleborns seek to escape whatever may be lurking around every corner simply to attack one of them next and add them to the ever growing list of victims.

Bailey greatly appreciates the efforts of some immensely that work to alleviate Harry's disconcerted mood by making it abundantly clear to all that are doubting her boy's innocence about him being Slytherins Heir is ludicrous.

Fred and George Weasley are among them. The Weasley twins have made a point whenever they run into Harry in the hallway to walk in front of him as a guard and declare that the Heir of Slytherin is coming through. And that his evilness will rub off on them if those in front don't get out of the way immediately. Fred would even ask Harry loudly who he was planning on attacking next and George goes so far as to pretend to ward him off with a clove of garlic as if he is a vampire. It's made Harry smile at their antics at the very least which makes Bailey very happy to see it.

Christmas morning can't come soon enough and when it dawns it does so cold and white.

Harry and Ron are rudely awoken very early by Hermione bursting in fully dressed and carrying presents.

Bailey is laid out on the bed with her head on Harry's stomach. Upon his sudden movement, Bailey jolts, snapping her head up.

Pulling back the curtains on the window, Hermione said "Wake up."

Shielding his eyes from the light, Ron groaned "Hermione, you're not supposed to be in here."

Bailey seconds that. She can do it with another half hour of sleep. Instead, she's blinking the sleepiness from her eyes and opening her jaws in a wide yawn.

Throwing Ron his present, Hermione said "Merry Christmas to you, too. I've been up for nearly an hour, adding more lacewings to the potion. It's ready."

Wide awake, Harry said "Are you sure?"

Shifting Scabbers the rat so that she could sit down on the end of Ron's bed, nodding her head confidently, Hermione said "Positive. If we're going to do it, I say it should be tonight."

All of a sudden Hedwig swoops into the room, carrying a very small package in her beak. She then lands on the bed directly in front of Harry.

Stroking her head happily, Harry said "Hello. Are you speaking to me again?"

In answer, Hedwig affectionately nibbles his finger as he strokes the plumage on her breast and allows Bailey to give her a welcoming lick.

The present the Dursleys sent Harry is nothing special, but this is still plenty to celebrate. For Bailey it's the homemade dog treats Mrs. Weasley sent along with the usual sweater and an addition of plum cake. After tasting them Bailey can easily conclude that her kids are just going to love them. She'll share them with the litter later on.

Everyone's mood in the atmosphere brightens considerably as Christmas day continues.

Hermione, Harry, and the entire Weasley brood congregate in the common room of Gryffindor Tower. Once they're all together the group follows Harry's suggestion to go down to Hagrid's Hut to spend some time with the puppies in the snow.

Turns out it is a splendid idea. One even the normally stiff and stoic Percy concedes to.

The puppies are beyond delighted to see the crowd that's come to visit them. Bailey's sons and daughters practically salivate when they catch a whiff of those dog treats Harry is carrying on his person. Lucky for him the others are there to keep the litter at bay or else he would've been trapped underneath a huge dogpile before he can even get the first treat out. Fortunately, thanks to everyone else's timely assistance, Harry can successfully extract treats from the bag and divide them equally amongst the puppies and give a leftover one to Fang when they're momentarily preoccupied.

Afterward is when the party really gets started.

Percy, Fred, and George transfigure some rocks into frisbees. They're tossed in the air and the puppies each takes turns leaping and jumping into the air to snatch them in their teeth. Ranger, Bounder, Bold, and Friendly really get a kick out of that while Charmer, Dreamer, and Whisper prefer the large snowballs Ginny decides to roll together for their amusement. Bailey joins in with her girls to see which one of them is triumphant in catching the most.

Harry, Ron, Hermione, Fred, George, Percy, and Ginny end up making a gigantic and impressive snowman from their combined work.

While they're celebrating this achievement Bold comes in and shoves at the middle ball with his front paws. This causes the snowman to tumble forward straight onto him, Bounder, and Charmer. There's no need for anyone to become alarmed. All three pups pop their heads up out of the snow mere seconds following this.

All the kids have a big laugh over it.

Throughout all this Bailey isn't really expecting Brokefang to show up in these proceedings. He may be somewhat comfortable with Harry's presence when Bailey and their offspring are around, but this is just way too many people. She doesn't blame him for being cautious.

If the pups were drooling over the dog treats, stars almost burst from their eyes when they get a look at the Christmas Feast awaiting those that chose to stay at Hogwarts.

This has made her puppy's first Christmas very special. Bailey is thankful and exceedingly grateful to Dumbledore. Dumbledore had said that the puppies can come to the Great Hall for this because there were going to be so few in attendance this year. He could see no problems arising as a result of this generous leniency.

The puppies are having a good time. Even the girls can't resist the giant turkeys laid out in front of them on a platter. There's more than enough to go around so the kids have no objections in placing one of these plucked and well-cooked birds onto the floor. The pups dug right in with gusto. To the astonishment of those watching Charmer, Dreamer, and Whisper kick their brothers away and take the moist and tender portions they want first.

Dreamer really asserts herself big time when it comes to those turkey legs. She nabs them both and crouches over them aggressively, daring any of the boys to come try and steal them. As soon as her message is received Dreamer shares one of the legs with her mother and keeps the other for herself.

The four brothers will just have to settle with what's left as is proper despite ongoing frustration at not getting the choice bits.

By the time the puppies are through with their dinner it's a miracle they haven't entered a turkey coma upon finishing supper. The puppies' stomachs are so bloated with food and exhausted from all the energy expenditure by all the activity mixed in with dinner and all that play it's a wonder that they're even still awake. None of the seven even pay any attention to the desserts when the numerous aromas hit their nostrils.

Bailey determines it's time for the little ones to head off to bed, leaving Ron, Harry, and Hermione to enact a plan to get hairs from Goyle and Crabbe with a carefully prepared Sleeping Draught laced on a handful of pastries. Harry whispers to her Moaning Myrtle's bathroom so she knows to go there when she's finished with the puppies.

Bailey leads them down to the enclosure on shaky and wobbly legs. No sooner does she get them inside that they plop down inside the shelter, out cold, all tuckered out to the core. Bailey is amused to see Friendly gnawing a big turkey bone in his sleep.

As Bailey cleans their faces of leftover food Bailey hears a deep howl reach her from the Dark Forest. Raising her head Bailey howls back to her mate, wishing him a good night. She then shuts the gate with her nose and heads back inside.

Harry, Ron, and Hermione are already inside the bathroom adding the hairs from the people they need to turn into.

Bailey is so happy she's not taking part in this recon mission because the expressions on their faces when they drink each glass is not pleasant. The taste must be incredibly revolting.

Hermione and Ron bolt into separate stalls from the nausea. Harry struggles to bear through it, holding onto a neighboring sink for balance.

Bailey's nose is barely an inch away from the splattered Polyjuice Potion when she cringes away in disgust.

Right before Bailey's very eyes, Harry transforms into Goyle. If Bailey hadn't witnessed all this with her own eyes, she wouldn't have believed this is her boy.

Ron soon emerges now standing in front of them as Goyle.

Hermione refuses to come out of her stall, stating something was wrong with her potion and that she couldn't go with them. At Hermione's urging the boys head out, knowing they're on a time limit of only one single hour to get the information they require out of Malfoy.

Harry has no other recourse but to leave Bailey behind. She's a dead giveaway that this version of Goyle is not who he is supposed to be.

Bailey can hear muffled crying originating from Hermione's stall. Bailey whines, paws, and scratches at the door, but Hermione won't grant her entry. This isn't like Hermione. Something must be wrong for her to act like this. It unquestionably doesn't improve matters when Moaning Myrtle floats into the stall uninvited and bursts out into uncontrollable laughter at whatever Hermione's predicament is. All Bailey can do is lay down against the door and hope Hermione and acquire some comfort in petting her fur through the small cracks.

On the hour Harry and Ron return to the bathroom panting and out of breath. Just in the nick of time. They've fully reverted to their true normal selves.

Hammering on the door of Hermione's stall, Ron said "Hermione, come out, we've got loads to tell you."

"Go away," squeaked Hermione.

Harry and Ron look at each other in bewilderment.

"What's the matter," asked Ron. "You much be back to normal by now. We are."

Moaning Myrtle glides through the stall door, expression covered in uncharacteristic glee.

Grinning, Moaning Myrtle chortled "Oh, wait till you see. It's awful."

They heard the lock slide back and Hermione emerges, sobbing inconsolably, her robes pulled up over her head.

Uncertainly, Ron said "What's up? Have you still got Millicent's nose or something?"

Hermione let her robes fall and Ron backs into the sink in shock.

Bailey can't believe her eyes. She thought she smelled a feline, but Bailey thought she was simply imagining it.

Hermione's face is covered in black fur. Her eyes had turned yellow and there were long, pointed wars poking through her bushy hair.

Beside herself with embarrassment at this blunder, Hermione howled "It was cat hair! Millicent Bulstrode must have a cat! And the potion isn't supposed to be used for animal transformations!"

Exchanging a look with Harry, Ron said "Uh oh,"

Clapping her hands happily, Moaning Myrtle said "You'll be teased something dreadful."

Quick to reassure his friend, Harry said "It's okay, Hermione. We'll take you to the hospital wing. Madam Pomfrey never asks too many questions. We'll just tell her you were experimenting with a transfiguration spell, and it got out of hand. It'll be alright."

Bailey adds to this by nudging her head gently against Hermione's leg.

It took a hell of a lot of time and convincing to persuade Hermione to leave the bathroom. The boys had to promise to lead the way by her arms since she has her robes up to cover her face again.

Speeding them on their way, Moaning Myrtle guffawed "Will till everyone finds out you've got a tail!"

So not helping.

Never has Bailey wished more than a Hogwarts ghost was solid so she could pee on them. Moaning Myrtle really would deserve it big time.

Authors Note:

For those of you on fanfiction, I'm sure you've been facing the many unwanted ads when you're reading a story. Well, yesterday, I finally had enough, and I got an adblocker app. It worked! No more ads on any level! The one I got is Adblock Pro: Safari Ad Blocker. It really works. Just follow the instruction video that it attached to it.

Heads up everyone there's someone on fanfiction you need to seriously watch out for. Early a couple of months ago after I woke up I was checking my email and I saw I had a new guest review on my A Dog's Purpose Is Strange Magic 2 sequel. I took a look at it and got a very big shock. Some random person I've never spoken to before on here or anywhere else in my life was basically threatening me. Intimidating and practically ordering me to write a threatening letter to someone on their behalf, telling to stay off of for life or else they and everyone else close to them would be killed, disgustingly telling them to kill themselves. And at the bottom of the message this crazy person wasn't done. Warning me that if I don't send the letter then they would kill me and for confirmation to email them to make absolutely sure I complied with their demands. Of course I did nothing of the sort. Instead of doing what they wanted I reported them to the website, sent copies of this deplorable guest review message to police officer cousins of mine so they could have it on file, and I went to a nearby police station and reported it.

When I spoke to the police officers and they checked everything on the message they saw, that while the address and names of business were accurate the people and their names were not. They agree it was more than likely a scam because of the email address on the bottom in order to perhaps get access to personal information or potentially hack my computer. Despite that I'm still very happy they took it seriously as I showed and told them everything. All the same I'm still very happy that I brought this to the attention of law enforcement. Even though the entire thing might be fake I'm still very happy to have brought this to the attention of those who can do something about it if it was legit in some way. This may have been a scam, but it's obvious these people are beyond irresponsible if they try to goad people into sending death threats to random strangers just to get access to info.

Be that as it may if this does unfortunately happen to you do not send any messages to the email addresses they put down and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you bring the message to the authorities immediately whether it is legit or not.

Because it's a guest review it might not be visible for a couple of days as it loads if it is sent to you. But when it does you should definitely pressing the report abuse button and send it to the email that leads to the support staff that is available.

Just a heads up to those of you who aren't aware of this yet, Email alerts for this website are now only active if Email opts is enabled in account settings.

I hope you all like this one! I certainly did while writing it for your vast enjoyment! ;D

For those of you just starting out with my stuff there are other works on my profile that may catch your interest. I highly recommend you take a look as soon as the opportunity presents itself to you. Who knows, you may be pleasantly surprised by what you discover.

Stay safe everyone. Especially with all of these crazy natural disasters occurring a lot lately due to global warming and climate change everywhere for sure. I swear it's like they're getting worse and worse all the time and it's like officials are simply just ignoring it or pretending it doesn't exist entirely just to go on with their daily lives. Especially those in multi-million dollar companies that rely on certain elements of our planet that we rely on to naturally keep us safe instead of adapting and finding new safer ways to keep in business. There are so many options out there where they can adapt, but they just refuse to see it because all they care about is money. Climate change is altering so much faster than anyone can really keep track of.

So, in light of all this, it is important to live life to the fullest as much as anyone can.

I know I am. ;) See you guys next time.
