Summary: Baku, a dream-eating yokai, trapped Donna inside her own dream as she must figure out a way how to wake herself up.
On a bright sunny morning, Donna held onto a plush turtle animal in her arms on her bed. Her alarm buzzed and she reached over to turn it off. She yawned and hopped out of bed as she headed towards her closet.
In the dojo, Donna and her sisters began showing their elemental magic techniques right in front of Saldana. Donna formed a large fist out of rock and launched it at the wall after it was flying past the unmoved Saldana. Ellie summoned a small tornado underneath her feet, lifting her into the air with a satisfied smile. Ella shot out a barrage of small fireballs through her fast flurry of punches, which the fireballs then started shooting out powerful streams of flames one by one at the training dummy. Lee summoned a long tendril of water from her left arm and lashed at the training dummy with it, forming a sphere of water around it and expanding it in an explosion.
"That's it?" Ella asked Lee. "Is that all you got? If you're gonna to impress me, try harder."
"At least, one of us can." Lee retorted, crossing her arms over her chest.
Ella growled. She charged forward and started attacking Lee with swift punches and kicks. Lee was able to dodge each punch and kick by retaliating her own kicks and punches. Donna and Ellie stopped using their magic and watched the fight between their rivaling sisters.
"Here they go again." Donna said with a groan.
"Like over sixty times in a row." Ellie sighed.
Saldana stepped forward between her older daughters.
"Enough!" Saldana shouted.
Lee and Ella immediately stopped attacking each other and turned to face their mother.
"We'll continue training when you return home from school." Saldana said. "Remember, you two are sisters, not enemies."
Lee and Ella stared at the floor with a frown, but they rolled their eyes when they glanced at each other for a minute.
Afterwards, Donna stood right in front of her locker along with Lee, Ellie, and Ella inside Roosevelt High School. They placed their text books inside and closed their lockers just in time for their free period.
"Hey, Donna. Can I copy your chemistry homework?" Ellie asked.
"Stood up reading comic books again?" Donna inquired with a grin.
"Yeah." Ellie replied with a sheepish smile. "It's new issue of Justice Force. I can't say no to that."
"No surprise there, but sure." Donna replied as she rolled her eyes.
"Heading to the gym today?" Ella asked Lee.
"Yup." Lee answered. "I have an idea for a new routine for the tonight's game. And you?"
"Just heading to the library to prepare for my astrology test." Ella replied. She turned to Donna. "What about you, D?"
"I'm heading to chess club today." Donna responded. "I'm working on a new strategy that will beat the rival school for sure." She turned to Ellie. "Are you heading to the gym too?"
"Not this time." Ellie replied. "I'm going to get a snack from the vending machine and join Ella at the library, so I can copy your chemistry homework."
"Because you were reading comic books again last night?" Lee and Ella asked with sideway smiles.
"It was a new issue of Justice Force, so sue me." Ellie said with an irritating tone.
Then, the school bell rang.
"See you girls later." Lee said with a wave.
"See ya." Donna said.
"Peace out." Ellie said.
"Later." Ella said.
With that, the Lotus Ninjas walked off.
Later on, Donna played against the last chess club member. Nine other club members surrounded them in a circle. A long blonde-haired student moved her black pawn to F3. Donna moved her white pawn to E5. The blonde-haired student moved her black pawn to 4. With a victorious smirk, Donna moved her king to H4, which allowed her to checkmate her opponent's queen.
"Donna wins again." A male black spiky-haired student cheered.
"It's called Fool's Mate." Donna said. "It's the fastest checkmate in chess."
"Alright, let's all take a ten-minute break." A male black spiky-haired student spoke.
"Sounds good." Donna said.
Donna stood up and walked over to open her backpack. She took out a water bottle and zipped her backpack shut. But when she turned around, all the club members were gone.
"Huh? I guess they went to get snacks at the vending machine." Donna said with a shrug.
Donna unlocked the cap of her water bottle and began drinking gulps of water.
Suddenly, Donna's backpack slowly unzipped itself and began growing into a large size. Donna puts the cap back on her water bottle and placed it on a desk. Her eyes turned to the large shadow looming over her from the floor, making her slowly spin around to face what she's looking at.
"What in the world?!" Donna exclaimed in surprise.
Four roots started rising out of Donna's backpack. They lashed forward and wrapped around Donna's arms and legs.
"Hey! What's going on? Let me go!" Donna cried.
Donna's backpack began pulling the struggling Donna forward. But it was too late for the purple mystic kunoichi to use her magic to break free. Her backpack rose Donna straight up in the air and then pulled her inside before zipping itself. As Donna screamed, she began falling straight into the darkness until she finally landed on her back.
"Ugh, I haven't felt this terrified since movie night last week." Donna groaned in pain as she got up on her feet. "I've never watching that 80s supernatural slasher film ever again."
Donna then gasped in amazement. She found herself gazing around inside a tall tower that has green vines surrounding it. She looked up to see the bright sun flooding the entire botanic garden with a library setting behind from the skylight. Her eyes lit up when she caught the sight of a massive, magnificent library collected with numerous books of many genres.
"Oh my gosh." Donna said in awe. She then looked down to find herself wearing a purple dress with a lavender corset top laced with a white ribbon, short puffed sleeves with white and lavender, and purple skirt decorated with lavender swirling and floral designs. "I can't believe it! I've never seen so many floras in all life! Even the library is amazing! Where do I even begin?"
Donna sprinted forward towards the library and snatched three books from the shelves as she began reading through the pages with a smile. Next, she started looking at the dancing lilies and daffodils with admiration. Then, she grinned at the blooming orchids and leaped over giant bamboos.
Just as Donna walked back to the library, something caught her eyes. She saw several giant white-water lilies floating on the water. With a grin, she swiftly hopped onto one water lily. She then began sailing across the water with a happy smile on her face.
In a dark void, Baku was watching Donna through a glowing bubble with interest.
"The last one of the four." Baku spoke. "Let's hope she's different from the others."
With a wicked smile, Baku blew on the crystal ball, freezing it and dropping it into his hand. He then shook it like a snow globe and crushed it in his fist. When he opened his palm, a strange black blob took form.
Donna picked three more books from the shelf and began reading through the pages with a curious, yet amazement look on her face.
"Greetings, madam."
Donna looked away from her book and gasped. She found Donnie standing in front of her with a warm smile on his face.
"Donnie?" Donna said. "What are you doing here?"
"Let's just say I've been sightseeing." Donna said with a smile. He walked up to the shelves and pulled out a book. "Chemistry. One of my favorites. The atoms, molecules and..."
"Ions." Donna added with a smile.
Donnie walked and sat next to Donna.
"I must be magnesium and you must be oxygen because I light up when I'm with you." Donnie quipped with a flirtatious smile.
Donna giggled with a flushed face in response.
"How about you and I explore the Parrot's beak flowers together?" Donnie suggested. "I've heard it's one of rarest flowers in the world."
"Oh, Donnie. I love to…" Donna grinned.
Donna suddenly gasped sharply for a moment.
"Donna? Are you okay?" Donnie asked.
Donna stood up and backed away from Donnie, clapping her hands to her forehead and stumbling backward until she collapsed on her knees.
"Donna, what's wrong?" Donnie asked in worry.
"Something's…not here." Donna stuttered with confusion. "Like I belong here."
"What do you mean?" Donnie asked again with narrow eyes.
Donna's eyes suddenly widened in sudden realization.
"Baku!" Donna exclaimed. "This was all his doing. The last thing I remembered was that my sisters and I were fighting him before knocking us out with his power. We need to get out of here and fast."
Donnie walked up towards Donna as he silently reached behind his back and withdrew his bo staff.
"Calm down, Donna. If this Baku is really behind all of this, then we need a plan." Donnie said. He raised his katana sword over Lee. "But let's just stop and smell the flowers."
Donnie swung his bo staff down, but Donna managed to evade the bo staff with fast speed.
Donnie's eyes widened in fear when he saw a large bluebell flower was created behind Donna.
"A fake will never capture my heart that I have for the real Donatello." Donna said firmly.
As Donna snapped her fingers, the bluebell flower opened its petals and launched a powerful beam of concentrated magical energy at the fake Donnie, engulfing him and causing him to dissolve.
Then suddenly, the entire botanic garden and library began to vaporize into nothingness and Donna's illusion dress changed back into her kunoichi outfit.
Donna then found herself in a throne room that was set up with raised steps and under a canopy. She saw Baku sitting on a dark grey majestical throne chair.
"Not bad. Not even the smart one could've fall for my power." Baku said.
With a glare, Donna sculpted two gigantic fists out of rocks from the ground. She sent them slithering straight at Baku and cupped him tightly. But Baku destroyed the giant fists with a reddish-black force field around himself. Donna then charged and shot multiple beams of mud in the air at Baku, who conjured his reddish-black force field to protect himself again.
Before Donna could use her magic again, several reddish-black energy tentacles lashed out of nowhere and wrapped tightly around Donna's arms and legs. Donna struggled to break free, trying to prevent herself from getting dragged away. But it was no use. Donna screamed as she got dragged into the darkness.
"So, four mystics refused to stay and live on with their desirable dreams." Baku said. He grew out a wide, sinister smile on his face. "No one, not even mortals, have ever fought their dreams in their lives. But now, it's time for me to give them an ultimate knockout of a lifetime. Let the games begin."
