Chapter 29: Hammer of the Gods.

Jean finds herself unable to speak as she stares into the familiar hazel eyes of a younger version of her father. 'No,' she thinks to herself, 'this isn't dad. It's the most powerful archangel in Heaven who may or may not want me and my unborn babies dead.' She snaps out of her shock, "Why do you look like my dad when he was younger?"

Michael's six gigantic pure white wings are folded in a resting position behind him. "A few months ago, a renegade angel went back in time to kill your mother. She would have succeeded if the John of that time hadn't of said yes to me in order to save her." Jean nods her head remembering how she had wanted to go back with her brothers and Castiel, but Lucifer wouldn't take her. "I didn't want to risk the lives of the fledglings by appearing to you in my true form so I chose to appear like this. You may be able to safely see Lucifer's true form, but that might only be because he's your en ugear."

"So you don't want to kill my babies?" Jean asks the archangel, placing a hand on her swollen belly.

"No, there are far too few angels left in existence and with Dad gone these fledglings may be the last ever created...Even if they are Lucifer's spawn."

"But if you kill Luci, I'll die too along with my fledglings." Jean points out to Michael.

"I am aware of this fact and have been carefully weighing options. I can delay the fight with my brother until after the fledglings are born, but that's the best that I can do. Lucifer must be destroyed."

"Why? He's your little brother you should love him and want to protect him no matter what."

Michael sighs and sits down beside Jean on the concrete bench. "I don't want to kill my little brother, Jean. I practically raised Lucifer myself. But it's my Father's will that one of us kills the other."

"I think that when God left Heaven he was essentially giving you angels free will of your own, which means you are free to choose rather or not to kill Lucifer."

"Perhaps, but I still have to kill Lucifer. He's a monster and has to be stopped."

"He's your brother."

"He's not the same Lucifer that I used to know." Michael's face softens and a small smile appears on his face, "He used to be so loving and gentle before he fell. I lost count of how many times I caught him sneaking injured animals into his room up in Heaven so that he could nurse them back to health. He used to love playing with our fledgling brothers and sisters, teaching them how to pull pranks, and sneak into the kitchens late at night for snacks." Michael's smile fades and his face becomes stern once again. "But that Lucifer no longer exists. Lucifer is now nothing more than a blood-thirsty monster whose path of destruction won't stop until he is dead."

Jean shakes her head, "That's not true. I've seen the loving side of him several times since he's been free." The scenery all of a sudden changes from a peaceful garden to the outside of a cheap motel at night. Lucifer is slow dancing with Jean in the parking lot near her Mustang and Dean's Impala. "This was the night of my thirty-first birthday. I had once asked Luci if he would dance with me and he said no, but he decided to dance with me as a surprise for my birthday." The scenery changes again to when Lucifer told Jean that she's pregnant. Jean and Michael watch as the other Jean starts to have a panic attack so Lucifer holds her in his arms and begins to purr to help calm her down. Everything changes once again and now Lucifer is tickling Jean on their bed at their home. She's laughing and trying to roll away from him, but she can't. There is a smile on Lucifer's face and the feathers on all six of his wings are slightly fluffed up in happiness. The scene yet again changes this time to Bobby's study when Jean asked Lucifer to save Ellen and Jo Harvelle and he agreed in exchange for her to stop hunting for three years for the safety of their unborn babies. There are a series of scene changes next each one showing a moment when Lucifer is lovingly caressing Jean's swollen belly. "You see? The sweet and loving Lucifer is still there, it's just been buried beneath all of the hurt and anger that has been accumulating inside of him over the many millennia that he has spent locked away in a cage." The scenery returns to that of the beautiful flower beds of Mill Pond Garden. "Put yourself in his shoes, Michael. The two people that he loved and looked up to the most called him a monster and a freak, turned their backs on him, then tossed him out of his home. To be kicked out of your own home by your father and older brother would devastate anyone." She sniffles a little as she tries to hold back the tears that have formed in her eyes. "I personally know how that feels and it frickin' sucks. You become so angry and depressed that you either try to take your own life because you feel like nobody loves you, not even your own family, or you lash out at everyone and everything around you in order to distance yourself away from others because you don't ever want to be hurt like that again. I at least had Bobby and Sam to help me through it, but Lucifer...Lucifer had no one at the time."

Michael's wings slightly rise and open in irritation and anger, "It wasn't easy for me either, Jean. Do you really think that it didn't hurt me to have to toss my own little brother, who I practically raised on my own, down into Hell? How would you feel if you had to be the one to send Sam into Hell?"

"I would have flat out refused. I would've told my father to piss off. That he would have to kill me or throw me into Hell as well, because there's absolutely no way that I would do it. I would do the same for Dean." Jean says while lifting her head in a proud manner.

Michael chuckles, "I can see now why you're Lucifer's etam." The two of them sit in silence for a couple of minutes before Michael breaks it, "I do still love my little brother, Jean. But my Father has given me an order and I must follow it."

For the briefest of moments instead of a younger version of her father sitting next to her, Jean sees Michael as Dean as a teenager. She sighs, "You remind me so much of Dean. Always eager to do whatever our dad commanded in order to please him. Extremely loyal and dedicated to him even though our father was never as loyal or dedicated to us. Doing his best to raise his younger siblings when he shouldn't have to. But I suppose that's because of the whole 'as it is in Heaven, so must it be on Earth' thing?"

Michael nods, "Yes. Dean and John's relationship mirrors mine and my Father's. The same applies for Sam and Lucifer. You...You're an enigma, however. I've never had a twin nor has Lucifer ever had a mate. You're like a jumbled up mixture of Lucifer, Gabriel, Castiel, and myself. To be honest, you're rather intriguing yet quite frustrating at the same time."

Jean nods her head, "I get that a lot. Usually from one of your brothers." Jean's emerald eyes met Michael's hazel ones, "There have been a couple of times in the past five years when Dean disobeyed our dad, so maybe that means you have some wiggle room for a little disobedience?"

Michael chuckles a little, "An interesting theory." His eyes land on Jean's swollen belly. "I suppose you would have me disobey by not fighting Lucifer?"

Jean places a hand on her belly and feels one of the babies move, "If the two of you could make peace with each other, that would be fantastic, but I would be happy with the both of you at least not trying to kill each other. Lucifer told me that he is content with ruling over Hell as long as he has me and our fledglings by his side. You'll continue leading Heaven and Lucifer will rule over Hell. And when Luci's head gets too big; because we both know that it will; I'll knock him down a few pegs. Like how I did when he had Death raise the dead in Sioux Falls. If I can't deflate his ego then you can come down and smack him around a bit, but I'm positive that it will never come to that."

"Do you honestly believe that Lucifer will be content with just ruling Hell?"

Jean nods, "I do. I know that there is still good in Lucifer. Yes, he does have his dark moments, but the good is still there. He has promised me that he won't take Sam as his vessel as long as you don't take Dean as yours and Lucifer has never lied to me."

There is silence for a couple of moments as the two watch a couple of butterflies flit from flower to flower. "Jean you need to be more careful around Lucifer. He is a master of deception. He knows exactly how to manipulate others into doing exactly what he wants them to do. I guarantee that the instant that Sam says yes to him Lucifer will take over Sam's body."

"I know for a fact that he won't." Jean chuckles, "I told him that there is absolutely no way that I would ever let him touch me in Sam's body."

Michael scoffs, "And you expect that to work on him?"

"Considering how much your little brother likes to touch me, yes." Jean laughs at the look on Michael's face and how the feathers on his wings slightly shiver in discomfort. One of the babies kicks hard from inside of her while the other one moves causing her to groan in discomfort. "These little ones are really active today." She catches Michael staring at her stomach once again, "Would you like to feel your nieces or nephews moving, Mikey? I've noticed you glancing at my belly every once in a while."

"Mikey? No one has called me that since Gabriel was still around."

Jean gives him a gentle smile, "You're family now so you get a nickname."

Michael shifts to face her, "Are you sure about this? Dream or not, I could easily hurt you and the fledglings. Maybe I'll use that little bit of wiggle room that you mentioned earlier to hurt you?"

Jean looks straight into his eyes, "Yeah, I'm sure. I trust you as much as I trust Dean."

Michael looks at her in worry, "You're entirely too trusting for your own good, Jean."

She shakes her head, "Only when it comes to family, which is the way that I think it should be." She removes her hand from her belly so that Michael will be able to feel the babies better.

Michael places his hand gently on her rotund belly and both babies kick at his hand. His wings slightly flare open in surprise and his head tilts to the side. "That is...very strange." Jean chuckles at his reaction. "There are actual living beings growing inside of you...My Father really is a miraculous creator." Silence once again falls between them for a couple of minutes before Michael removes his hand from her stomach. "I have to admit that I do not hate you, Jean. When you prayed to me and asked for this meeting, I thought that I would only be repulsed to be in your presence. But I was wrong. You have an intriguing and soothing aura and I find myself enjoying being around you. Your love and loyalty to your ugear is obvious and Lucifer is very lucky to have an etam like you."

Jean smiles at Michael, "Thank you, Mikey. Even though you want to kill my ugear and take my babies from me to raise them as soldiers all while using my twin or my little half brother as your vessel, I don't hate you either. Am I a bit wary of you? Definitely. But I just can't bring myself to hate you."

Michael tilts his head back to look up at the sky then sighs, "I have to go now, Jean." He stands up, but turns to face Jean, "Tell my brother that our fight will be delayed until after the fledglings are born."

Jean's smile widens, "Thank you, Mikey."

Michael gives her a small smile before opening his wings to their fullest extent to take off, but he suddenly stops. "You claim that there is still good inside of Lucifer, are you willing to take a risk based on your faith in my brother?"

Jean looks at him in confusion, "What do you mean?"

"I will make you a deal, Jean. The time when Sam will say yes to Lucifer is quickly approaching. Now if you are right and Lucifer keeps his promise to you by not taking Sam as his vessel then I will admit that my little brother is changing for the better and I won't try to kill him during our fight." Jean's eyes widen in amazement and she feels like she's about to burst from happiness. "However, if he does take over Sam's body then you will voluntarily hand over the fledglings to Heaven."

Jean struggles to stand up, but eventually makes it. She looks Michael directly in the eyes, "I have complete faith that my husband will keep his word to me. So, yes, I will agree to this deal."

"There is one condition though...You can not mention this deal to anyone. If Lucifer or Sam knew it would change everything and I want to see if you are right about my little brother or not."

Jean nods in agreement, "Okay. I will keep this deal just between the two of us."

Michael raises his wings to fly off, "I truly am hoping that you are right about Lucifer, Jean." He then disappears leaving Jean alone in the garden that now has different species of butterflies fluttering everywhere.

Jean is suddenly startled awake by someone picking her up from the couch. "What's goin' on?" she sleepily mumbles.

"It's okay, kitten," Lucifer says, "you fell asleep on the sofa and I'm just carrying you to our bed."

Jean yawns loudly, "Actually, could you put me down please? I need to go pee and I'm also very hungry. I'm craving chocolate covered tater tots again and chicken strips." Lucifer lowers her until her feet are on the floor and she is standing on her own two feet. She waddles over to the nearest bathroom, which is the one in between the guest room and the nursery. After she relieves her bladder and washes her hands, she walks back out where Lucifer is waiting for her. She casually says, "Oh, yeah. There's something very important that I need to tell you."

The two of them begin to walk through the hallway towards the kitchen so that Jean can put some tater tots and chicken strips in the oven. "What is it, kitten?"

"I summoned Michael in my dream and spoke with him..."

"YOU DID WHAT?!" Lucifer yells, coming to a sudden stop in the dining room. "After I told you not to make contact with my brother for your and our babies safety, you did so anyway?!" Lucifer's irises glow crimson from his anger.

Jean stops and turns to face her furious husband. She flares her nostrils and narrows her eyes at him, "Don't you dare use that tone of voice with me, Helel!" She reaches out and flicks the tip of his nose with her index finger.

Lucifer is stunned by both the action and the use of his actual name. "Helel...so you're referring to me by my real name now?"

"Only when I'm mad at you," she huffs, folding her arms over her chest.

"You're mad at me?! I'm the only one here who has the right to be angry! You disobeyed me and put yourself and our unborn babies in unnecessary danger!"

Jean stands up straight to her full height of six foot three inches; two inches taller than Lucifer's vessel. Lucifer spreads his wings open in an attempt to make himself appear larger and intimidate his etam. But Jean just scowls and snorts like an angry bull, "Cut that out! I'm not going to be bullied around like one of your damn demons! I am your wife! Your etam! Your soulmate! I am your partner and I will not be treated like I'm anything less!" She breaks down sobbing all of a sudden, "I thought that you loved me? How could you treat me like this?" As suddenly as the anger had disappeared it returns, "You damn bastard!"

Jean tries to punch Lucifer, but he catches her fist gently in his hand. "Stop. I'm not treating you like one of the demons." He releases her hand and she lets it fall to her side. He cups her face with his hands and wipes away her tears with his thumbs. His wings return to a relaxed position behind him. "Of course, I love you. I love you more than anything in this world. If I didn't love you do you honestly think that I would..." Common sense stops him from saying what he was about to say, which was: 'put up with all of these crazy ass mood swings of yours?' Instead he finishes his sentence with, "have done everything that I have for you?" Honestly, Lucifer is completely confused by all of the mood swings that his pregnant etam has been having and doesn't know how to handle things when she gets like this. "I was just pissed that you would be so reckless with your own and our little ones' safety." He hesitates before cautiously asking her, "How much longer are you going to be...suffering...from these mood swings, my love?"

Jean chuckles a little from how cautious Lucifer is being asking her when the mood swings are suppose to come to an end. "Just a few more weeks. I'm so sorry, Lucifer. I know that I've been a little, well, crazy lately and I can't wait for these mood swings to end either. I haven't even been able to tolerate myself lately. I thought that the mood swings would stop now that I'm in my second trimester and that I, we, wouldn't have to deal with them again until the end of the third. But apparently, I was wrong." She leans down a little to kiss his lips, "I know that you love me. It's just, every now and then I wonder why."

"You have to remember that you're pregnant with twins, Jean. Things aren't going to go as they would for a single pregnancy." Lucifer wraps his right arm around Jean's waist and pulls her flush against him. Well, as much as he can with her bulging belly. "Oh, and there's lots of reasons why I love you and I could spend the next two days listing them off." He kisses her lips, "I shouldn't have yelled at you in your condition, my love."

Jean's emerald green eyes lock with Lucifer's icy blue orbs, "It's okay. Can we go to the kitchen so that I can make something to eat now?"

He nods and begins leading her towards the kitchen, keeping his arm around her waist. "So, what happened between you and Michael?" he asks, clenching his jaw tightly.

They enter the kitchen; Lucifer stepping to the side to let Jean go through first; and walk over to the black French door refrigerator. "First off, I found out that Michael has no intention of harming our fledglings. Second, Michael told me to tell you that the fight is delayed until after the fledglings are born."

Lucifer's eyebrows rise in surprise, "He's actually going to delay our fight?"

Jean opens the door to the freezer side of the refrigerator then grabs a new bag of tater tots and a half-empty bag of chicken strips. "Yep. That gives us at least three months before the fight, right?" She places the bags of food down on the counter by the electric range before grabbing a square aluminum baking sheet from the cabinet above it.

"Yes," Lucifer watches as she pushes some buttons on the electric range to preheat the oven. "What else did you and my brother talk about?"

"Not much. I tried to talk him out of trying to kill you, but we mainly just sat on a bench in an area that looked like the Mill Pond Garden and watched the butterflies. Oh, but he did say that I reminded him of you, Gabriel, Castiel, and himself all rolled into one person." She laughs lightly in amusement.

Lucifer hears Jean's phone ringing from the living room and tells her, "Your phone is ringing. Why don't you go and answer it while I finish this?"

Jean nods, "Okay. I need to sit down anyway." She starts to walk towards the doorway that leads to the living room from the kitchen, "I bet it's Bobby or Sam." By the time that she enters the living room and over to the coffee table in front of the sectional sofa her phone has stopped ringing. She picks it up before sitting down on the sofa and slightly sinking into the plush cushions. She unlocks her phone then checks the caller ID to see who it was that just tried to call. Seeing that it was indeed her little brother that called, she hits the call button, holds the phone up to her ear, then waits for Sam to pick up.

Sam answers after the second ring, "Hello?"

"Hiya, Sammy. What happened in Van Nuys?"

Sam sighs, "Michael took Adam as his vessel. We arrived in time and, thanks to Cass carving a banishing sigil in his chest and using it to banish the angels that were guarding the room, we managed to get to Adam, but..."

"Wait, hold on a minute. Cass carved a banishing sigil into his own chest? An angel banishing sigil? Is he okay?"

"We, uh, don't know. We haven't seen or heard from him since, but it's only been about an hour and we have people on the look out for him or any sign of him. Anyway, we found the room and Adam, but Zachariah was in there with him. Dean distracted him while I tried to sneak up behind him and stab him with one of the angel blades that Cass had gotten for us, but the attempt failed. Zachariah threw me back against the wall then proceeded to torture both me and Adam while making Dean watch. After a couple of minutes, Dean said yes, so Zachariah summoned Michael. However, before Michael arrived Dean told Zachariah that there were a few conditions before he said yes. One of which was that Michael had to disintegrate Zachariah."

"And did he?"

"Michael never got the chance. Dean stabbed Zachariah in the head with another angel blade. At this point Michael was really close because the entire place was shaking along with the usual high pitch shriek and intensely bright light. We made a dash for the door and I managed to get out, but the door slammed shut behind me and trapped both Dean and Adam inside. I tried to open the door, but the knob was so hot that it burned my hand. I then repeatedly tried to kick the door in, but I couldn't. Maybe twenty seconds later, the light vanished and I could open the door. Dean was sitting on the floor in the farthest corner of the room, but Adam was nowhere in sight. Dean said that Michael chose to go after Adam as his vessel instead of him, which is really weird. After all of the trouble that the angels went to to get Dean to say yes, why in the hell would Michael choose Adam over Dean when he had Dean exactly where he wanted him?"

"I may have the answer to that," Jean says. She then explains to Sam about how she prayed to Michael in a dream and they had a long chat together. That Michael decided to delay the big fight until after Jean gives birth and how much he reminded her of Dean when he was a teenager. Of course, she keeps the deal she made with Michael a secret.

"That still doesn't really explain why he chose Adam over Dean though."

Jean jokingly says, "Sure it does. Michael obviously likes me and who can blame him? I am extremely charming," Jean then loudly burps.

On the other end of the line, she can hear both of her brothers laugh and then Dean says, "Yes, because you are such a delicate little flower."

"I am woman, hear me roar."

Once their laughter stops Dean asks Jean, "Are you serious about the big prize fight being delayed?"

"Yep," Jean says, popping the P.

"That gives us what? Four months to figure out a way to stop the fight?" asks Sam.

Jean hums, "Three. I'm now six months pregnant. And Luci already gave you a way...You two just shat all over it."

"That's because he's Satan, Jean! He's a liar and is manipulating you in order to get to me!"

"You're calling Lucifer a liar, Sam?! You?! Lucifer has never lied to me Sam, not once. But how many times have I caught you in a lie over the years? So, don't you dare try to pull that holier than thou shit, Sam. Because none of us; Dean, Lucifer, you, or me; are exactly morally superior to any of the other three. We've all done some really shitty things throughout our lifetimes, so you need to get the hell off of your high horse before I decide to put my incredibly swollen size eleven foot up your ass!" She takes a deep breath in order to try and calm down, "You know what? I can't handle talking to you right now. You're pissing me off and that's not good for my babies. I love you and Dean, but the two of you have been acting like a couple of jackasses lately."

"Hey! What did I do?!" Jean hears Dean shout in the background before she ends the call. She collapses backward on to the back pillows of the sofa with a sigh.

"I take it that you got into another argument with one of your brothers?" Lucifer says causing Jean to look over at him as he's walking towards her with a plate of chicken strips. "Before you say anything, the tater tots take a little longer to cook."

Jean chuckles, "I'm guessing that you heard what I said to Sam?" She takes the plate from him and picks up a strip.

Lucifer sits down beside her, "Some of it."

Jean is about to take a bite when she stops to ask him, "What would happen to an angel if they used a banishing sigil that has been carved into their chest?"

Lucifer's eyebrows furrow, "I don't know. There's never been an angel dumb enough to try before. But I would assume that it would incredibly painful for the said angel and their grace may even be ripped away from them."

Jean scowls, "I was afraid of that."

"Let me guess...Castiel?"

Jean nods, "Yes."

A week later, Jean and Lucifer are fooling around in their bed late at night when Lucifer suddenly pulls away and tilts his head to the side like he's listening to something that Jean cannot hear. "Why'd you stop?" Jean whines, but sits up in bed as well. She presses her bare chest against his then begins to kiss along his jawline.

Lucifer snaps out of his mini trance and turns his head in order to capture Jean's lips with his own. When they finally break the kiss he tells her, "I've got to go. It seems that your brothers; Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum; have gotten themselves in quite a sticky situation involving a bunch of pagan gods. That was Mercury contacting and informing me of what's happening." He stands up from the bed, snaps his fingers, and he's instantly dressed in his usual attire: jeans, a greenish brown t-shirt, and a dark blue green overshirt that is left unbuttoned and with the sleeves rolled up to his elbows.

"Can I come with you?" Jean asks and Lucifer looks at her as if she's crazy. "I promise that I will stay by your side the entire time."

"I'm most likely going to have to slaughter these pagans and, without a doubt, it's going to be messy."

Jean nods, "I kind of figured as much. But something is telling me that I need to be there with you. I don't know exactly how to describe it. It's like a small nagging feeling in the back of my skull, but it's definitely telling me that I need to be there for some reason."

Lucifer looks at her thoughtfully for a few moments before making his decision. "Fine, but you are to stay close to me the entire time and if I feel like things are getting too dangerous for you and our fledglings, I'm immediately sending you right back here."

Jean nods her head in agreement, "Sounds fair to me." She throws her legs over the side of the bed then, with Lucifer's help, stands up. She starts to get dressed in a pair of grey panties, black stretchy maternity pants, and a pink maternity shirt with a T-Rex and the words 'Preggosaurus' on it. Lucifer watches in amusement as she struggles to put on her socks and shoes. He finally takes pity on her and helps her when she breaks down crying. "I'm too fat to put on my own socks and shoes now," she wails, hysterically.

Once Lucifer manages to calm Jean down, he wraps his right arm around her waist and the two disappear from their cozy little home. They reappear inside the large lobby of a hotel. The floor of the lobby is made of walnut wood stained burnt umber and while the lobby itself is sparsely decorated, it is done so beautifully. There's a small lounge area by the double glass door entrance. The wall behind the long maple wood counter is lit up by blue neon lights and on the wall are white letters that spell out 'Astro Lounge'. There are a couple of wooden room dividers with oblong white hexagonal shapes that section off a sitting area from the entrance doors and the farthest wall from the entrance, which has two sets of stainless steel elevator doors. The sitting area contains a white faux leather loveseat that doesn't have any back pillows and; in Jean's opinion; frankly, doesn't look very comfortable to sit on. In front of the loveseat is a small, round coffee table made out of glass with a couple of magazines lying on top. Both the coffee table and the front of the loveseat sit atop of a snow white area rug. Spaced about six feet apart from each other are two white chairs that sit perpendicular to the love seat and are facing towards a rock wall with a fireplace that contains a roaring fire. Opposite of the rock wall with the fireplace is a long check-in counter that runs along most of the wall behind it. The front of the counter is covered with small grey, blue, light blue, and white glass tiles with a three inch strip of mahogany wood running down the middle. Mahogany wood also covers the bottom and the edges, while the top is made of frosted glass and is lit up by lights beneath the glass. The wall behind the counter is covered with the same glass tile as the front of the counter only with slightly larger tiles. There are large white letters that have a soft neon blue light behind them that spell out, The Elysian Fields Hotel.

A man with short black hair and wearing a red suit jacket is standing behind the counter with his back turned to them so he doesn't see that Lucifer and Jean appear out of nowhere. Lucifer spreads his wings to the side, creating a space for Jean to hide in. He looks over at her, "No matter what happens, stay between my wings. You'll be completely safe and hidden there." Jean nods even though she doesn't fully understand what he means, but she steps into the space between Lucifer's sparkly, hot pink wings anyway.

Once he's completely sure that she is hidden from others, he steps up to the counter and Jean moves in almost perfect sync with him. Lucifer rings the metal service bell causing the man to turn around to face them. The man's face falls slightly when he sees Lucifer leaning against the counter. "Checking in," Lucifer calmly says, staring the clerk down.

"Lucifer, thanks for coming." Jean looks over Lucifer's shoulder at the man and gives him a small wave, but he doesn't seem to be able to see her.

Lucifer nods his head, "Oh, you did right calling me."

"It's just...the way the talk is heading in there, it's..." Lucifer narrows his eyes at the man, who Jean is guessing is Mercury. "It's insane."

Lucifer takes a hissing breath in, "You know, I never understood you pagans. You're such," he scrunches up his face in disgust, "petty little things."

"Says the archangel who threw a gigantic tantrum when God created humans." Jean says which causes Mercury to jump slightly in surprise.

"Be quiet and stay behind me," Lucifer scolds his etam in a whisper.

"Who was that?" Mercury asks while looking around for Jean, but unable to locate her.

Lucifer waves his hand in a dismissive gesture, "Never mind. That's not important. We're talking about you and the rest of your kind. You pagans are always fighting, always happy to sell out your own kind." He lifts his right hand and briefly points at Mercury, "No wonder you forfeited this planet to us." He points at Mercury again, "You are worse than humans. You're worse than demons and yet you claim to be gods." Lucifer tilts his head to the right and Jean feels a tingling sensation go through her body and the hair on her arms stand on end. Lucifer twists his wrist and breaks Mercury's neck using his grace, killing the pagan instantly. "And they call me prideful."

"Well, I suppose it is nice to know that you hate something more than humanity. I take it that I can't be seen by others, but I can still be heard?"

Lucifer turns towards the elevators, "Yes. You're within a special space between my wings. Because most beings can't see an angels wings, anything or anyone we hide between them can't be seen either. This space is how angels keep fledglings safe in case of an emergency."

"That's pretty cool."

"We don't let just anyone in this space since they would have the perfect access to the most vulnerable areas of our wings. Now, hold onto me." Jean wraps her arms around his waist and the two disappear.

They reappear two floors up in a long hallway a few feet away from a man that looks Asian. The man shouts in Mandarin before Lucifer slams his right arm through the pagan's stomach, grabs his spine, then pulls his arm back out, snapping his spine and pulling some of his guts out as well. Blood sprays across one set of elevator doors behind the former pagan god and a few drops splatters on Lucifer's face and shirt.

"What are you blathering on about now you turtle crazed..." An older man that looks to be in his mid to late seventies with short grey hair and a short white beard starts to say, but stops mid-sentence when he sees Lucifer. "You!" He rushes towards Lucifer and a still hidden Jean, but starts to scream in pain before falling to the floor in agony as Lucifer sets his insides on fire with a simple flick of two of his fingers. Lucifer walks over to the still screaming pagan, raises his right leg, then stomps down on the man's head, crushing his skull with ease. Scowling, Lucifer twists his foot for good measure.

Jean is still standing close behind her ugear, but turns around when she hears footsteps approaching them from behind. She sees a short, bald, slightly overweight black man rushing towards them. "Luci," she warns her husband and he turns halfway around to face the pagan god, his wings herding his etam in order to keep her behind him. Lucifer throws his arm out towards the man causing his head to violently explode. Blood and chunks of flesh fly towards Jean, but Lucifer blocks it with his wings.

Lucifer looks over to his left and sees another black male pagan god about to throw a punch at him. He turns his body towards the pagan and easily catches the god's fist. The pagan grunts in pain as Lucifer squeezes his fist until the bones break. A look of pure fury appears on Lucifer's face as he rips the pagan god's arm off causing him to scream in pain. Lucifer then grabs the man by the throat before he shoves his other hand through the man's chest and rips out his heart.

Jean just watches Lucifer in a strange mixture of horror, fascination, and arousal as he tosses the organ to the side. She has seen her husband lose his temper before, but only two of those times have been as intense as this. As Lucifer uses his grace to wash the blood from his wings and arms, Jean presses herself up against him from behind. She nibbles on his right earlobe, "I love it when you go all dominant male...it makes me want to roll over onto my back for you."

Lucifer turns around to face Jean, a small smirk on his face. "That's the angel part of you submitting to me."

"Oh?" Jean rests her hands on Lucifer's chest. She trails her hands down his t-shirt clad chest to the waistband of his jeans. "How about you dominate me and make me submit to you in every room of this hotel?"

"Believe me, I fully intend to. But only after I've dealt with the rest of these so called gods." He kisses her forehead before turning around and walking towards the end of the hallway, stepping over and around the dead bodies on the floor with Jean following close behind him.

As they approach a set of oak double doors on the left side of the hallway, they can hear Dean say, "So zap us outta here pronto." An unknown male voice answers him, "We can't."

Lucifer steps across the threshold into what appears to be the grand ballroom, or at least it is according to the sign above the door. Inside of the room are Jean's brothers along with a short, black haired man dressed in an expensive black tailored suit and a beautiful Indian woman who is wearing a red sleeveless blouse and a black knee length skirt. "Of course you can't," Lucifer responds, walking farther into the room causing Sam and Dean to take a step backward. "You didn't say 'Mother May I.'" The short man with black hair takes a couple of steps towards Lucifer and Jean, while Sam and Dean take a few more steps back. "Sam, Dean, good to see you again." Lucifer uses his grace to slowly close the oak double doors to the room behind him and Jean.

The black haired man prepares to square off against Lucifer and the woman tells him, "Baldur, don't."

"You think you own the planet?" The man, now identified as the Norse god Baldur, angrily says.

Jean laughs and the sudden sound startles everyone in the room except for Lucifer. "This is like watching a chihuahua bark and growl at a wolf. We all know that things aren't gonna end well for the chihuahua."

Lucifer chuckles at his wife's statement while everyone else is glancing around the room for whoever said that, except for Baldur, who only has his eyes set on Lucifer. "Jean?" Sam asks curiously.

Before Jean can answer, Baldur charges at Lucifer, "How dare you?! What gives you the right?"

Lucifer quickly grabs Baldur's right shoulder with his left hand before shoving his right arm through Baldur's abdomen, his now bloody hand and part of his forearm exiting through Baldur's back. "No one gives us the right. We take it."

Lucifer violently yanks his arm out of Baldur's dead body then throws the body to the side. From behind Lucifer, Jean is trying her hardest to keep her mouth shut and not say exactly what's going through her mind right now, but it's a losing battle. Finally, the words burst from her mouth and she begins to sing, "Da, da, da. Another one bites the dust. And another one gone and another one gone, another one bites the dust. Hey, he's gonna get you too, another one bites the dust."

Dean's eyebrows shoot upwards towards his hairline, "Yeah, that's definitely our Jean."

All of a sudden the other woman's hands are enveloped in fire which quickly spreads up her arms, but stops at her shoulders. Lucifer just looks at her in boredom, spreading all six of his wings wide to ensure the safety of his etam. The woman raises her fire covered right arm then sends an intensely hot stream of fire at Lucifer. Dean and Sam turn and run for cover behind one of the three tables that have been set up in the room in a half square. Jean presses herself flush against Lucifer's immensely cold back for protection from the heat. The woman stops her attack and the fire around Lucifer suddenly dies down, snuffed out by the archangels grace. The pagan goddess stares at a completely unharmed Lucifer in disbelief before marching up to him and raising her fist in order to punch him, but he delivers a huge left uppercut instead, sending her flying backward and landing on her back on the floor. He walks over to where she is lying and lifts his right foot in the air over the woman's head, ready to crush her skull. Lucifer is abruptly thrown backward by an unseen force. "Oh shit!" Jean cries out as Lucifer crashes into her and they both start to fall to the floor. Within a split second, Lucifer reaches behind him, grabs one of Jean's arms, then pulls her out from behind him so that he doesn't land on top of her. Instead, the left side of his body hits the hard wooden floor and Jean finds herself safely cradled in his arms as they slide across the floor. Lucifer's back slams into the double doors, which fly open with the force. Sam and Dean poke their heads over the table in order to see what is happening as Lucifer's back hits the wall hard, but he's too preoccupied with making sure that Jean is okay to care about his back.

"Luci, I'm home." A voice says from inside the grand ballroom and Jean instantly recognizes it as Gabriel's. Gabriel's eyes widen when he sees Jean, "Uh-oh. Sorry about that, Red. I didn't know you were here." Gabriel looks over at the two Winchester brothers, "Why didn't you two boneheads tell me that she was here?"

"We didn't know where she was. We could hear her, but we couldn't see her," Dean explains to the blue winged archangel.

"Well...I'm definitely not getting out of here alive now." Once Lucifer confirms that Jean and their babies are fine, he gets to his feet then helps her up. Lucifer glares at Gabriel who is standing protectively in front of the woman on the ground. Lucifer's wings rise and flare open in anger and Gabriel rises his own blue feathered wings in a challenge to Lucifer. This only pisses the older archangel off even more.

Lucifer places his hand on the small of Jean's back and nudges her towards Sam and Dean, "Go over to your brothers, kitten. You'll be safer with them for now."

Jean nods her head in agreement and walks back into the room. She hears Gabriel let out a low whistle, "Wow, Red. You've gotten so b..." Gabriel stops speaking when he sees Lucifer slightly shaking his head in warning. Then he sees the absolutely terrifying look on Jean's face and he immediately understands why his older brother was trying to warn him.

There is a dark gleam in her eyes and her mouth is twisted in a snarling scowl, "Go ahead, Gabriel. Finish that sentence. I dare you."

Gabriel swallows nervously and shifts his weight from one foot to the other, all six of his wings lower and press up tightly against his back. "Beautiful. Of course, I was going to say that you have gotten so beautiful."

"Mm-hmm. Sure you were," Jean says sarcastically, but the dark look vanishes from her face. She then proceeds to walk around the tables, stopping by the pagan goddess to offer her a hand in getting up. She just looks at Jean is disbelief and distrust.

"Jean...Just go to your brothers, " Lucifer says with a slightly scolding tone of voice.

"Okay, okay. I was just trying not to be rude." Jean continues on her way around the tables to where her brothers are still crouched down behind the farthest table.

As soon as Lucifer feels that Jean is safe, he takes a couple of steps towards the woman on the ground, fully intending to finish what he started. Gabriel intercepts him with his archangel blade held between him and Lucifer. "Not this time," Gabriel's six huge wings flare open and the feathers puff up to make him look bigger and more threatening. Lucifer's own six wings respond by fully opening in a sign of his dominance and his sparkly, hot pink wings dwarf Gabriel's blue ones. When Gabriel doesn't back down, Lucifer narrows his eyes at his little brother and Jean can see the slight look of hurt appear on her ugear's face. But the expression is gone in an instant, becoming hard once again. Gabriel looks away from his older brother long enough to quickly reach down and grab the woman's arm then helps her to stand up. Holding her close to him, Gabriel tells the Winchester siblings, "Guys, get her out of here."

Dean and Sam quickly get to their feet and hurry over to Gabriel with Jean trailing behind them. Dean gets on one side of the woman, Sam on the other, and Gabriel stands protectively in front of them. Jean is lagging behind the others, waiting for the perfect opportunity to step in between the two archangels in order to prevent the upcoming fight. Gabriel keeps himself between Lucifer and the other three as they walk towards the doors. "Over a girl." Sam, Dean, and the woman exit the room as Lucifer circles around in order to face his little brother. "Gabriel, really?" The two archangels have switched places with each other; with Gabriel now standing in front of the doors.

Gabriel nods his head in Jean's direction, "Like you're one to talk, brother."

Lucifer turns his head to the side to look at his etam. He frowns at her, "Why are you still here? Go with your brothers."

Jean looks him directly in the eyes and says, "No."

Lucifer's irises flash crimson in anger and his wings twitch in irritation, "Excuse me?"

"You heard me. I said no. I'm not going to let this fight happen."

"You don't have a choice. I'm sending you back home right now and you'll be lucky if I ever let you leave the house again!" He takes a few menacing steps towards Jean, but she stands her ground.

Gabriel decides to speak up at this moment, "Lucifer, you're my brother and I love you." Lucifer turns his attention back to Gabriel, "But you are a great big bag of dicks."

Lucifer is now obviously really angry and steps towards the younger archangel. "What did you just say to me?"

Jean inserts herself between the two brothers, "That's enough, both of you!" She points at Gabriel, "You, shut your cakehole before you dig yourself into a hole that not even I can get you out of." She then looks at her husband, "And you. I may not be able to stop you from sending me home and then killing Gabriel, but I can certainly make your life a living hell afterwards. I swear to your father and every angel up in Heaven, Lucifer, that if you kill your brother I will name every one of our kids after him. That way you will be reminded of what you have done every single day for the rest of eternity."

Gabriel's eyebrow rise, "That's pretty damn cruel, Red."

"You wouldn't dare," Lucifer challenges her.

"Oh, wouldn't I? Let's see, there's: Gabriel the second, Gabriella, Gabe, Gabby, Briel, Riel, Gabri, Brie, Gabrian, Gabriello, Gavriel, and Gabo. Just to name a few."

Lucifer's wings fall, "You're serious."

Jean nods, "Completely. If you kill your little brother, that means you can say goodbye to naming any of our children Helel, Yvaine, Samael, or any of the other names you were so looking forward to naming them." She then looks at Gabriel, "And what in the hell is wrong with you?! You know damn well what will happen to me if Luci dies! I thought we were besties?!"

"In my defense, Red, I didn't exactly expect to be the winner in a fight against Lucifer."

Jean frowns, "Nobody else is going to die here tonight. Now, why don't we pretend that this never happened? Gabriel, you go back to being neutral. Lucifer, you can continue getting everything ready to shove Michael in the cage three months from now."

Gabriel is surprised, "So the rumors that I've been hearing are true then? You actually managed to convince Michael to delay the big fight?" Jean nods. "Wow. Mikey must really like you." Gabriel's eyes shift over to Lucifer, "And she has managed to talk you out of trying to kill Michael?"

"Yes," Lucifer tells him still sounding very irritated. "Now, I suggest that you leave while you still can, little brother. But, if you ever get in my way again, I will kill you."

Gabriel glances over at Jean who nods her head at him, encouraging him to leave. He disappears with the sound of fluttering wings and Jean lets out a sigh of relief. "That was intense, huh?" She looks over at Lucifer who is glaring at her with a huge scowl on his face. "What's the matter, Mister Grumpy?"

Lucifer rolls his eyes slightly at Jean's old nickname for him, "I can't believe that you would put yourself and our fledglings in a dangerous situation like that again after that huge fight we had a week ago!"

"I knew that neither you nor Gabriel would have hurt me. Gabriel only stood to you to protect my brothers and that pagan goddess that he obviously has a thing for."

"Kali. That was the Hindu goddess Kali." Lucifer makes a face of disgust, "Honestly, I don't know what my little brother was thinking."

Jean smiles and walks up to Lucifer. She wraps her arms around his waist then presses herself up against him. "I think I can guess what he was thinking. He was thinking that he finally found someone that he shared a special connection with. Someone that he felt extremely lucky to have in his life. Someone whom he adored and loved no matter how grumpy they could be at times. Just like how I feel about you." She kisses him on the lips, "Now, how about we start defiling this hotel of the pagan gods?"

Lucifer wraps his wings around Jean cocooning her in their feathery softness. The blood vanishes from his face and his right forearm before he easily picks her up and carries her over to the table on the left. "Sounds perfect. We have a very long night ahead of us, my love. Of course, I'm going to have to punish you for saying no to me, so things are bound to get a little rough."
