The following day, after the citizens have witnessed the exposure of All Might's true form and that he can no longer fight anymore as the Symbol of Peace, society are left with great tension and vagueness.
After All For One was arrested, All Might was currently treated and rested in a hospital. Once he was recovering his injuries from his final battle against the masked villain, Tsukauchi, Tarot Chariot, and Gran Torino visited next to his bedside.
"The embers inside of me have been snuffed out." All Might said regretfully as he looked down at his left bandaged arm. "The mighty Symbol of Peace is no more." He looked at his friend, his mentor, and his wife. "However, I won't just sit here. There's still something that I must do."
"Tomura Shigaraki. Shimura's grandson. Yes?" Gran Torino questioned.
"The only proof we have of that is what All For One said." Tsukauchi stated. "It's not much to go on. The two of you didn't have any interactions with Shimura's family, even though you were so close to her?"
"No." Gran Torino answered.
"Buy why not?" Tsukauchi asked.
"It happened soon after Shimura's husband was killed. Concerned, she put her child in foster care to shield the youngster from the hero world." Gran Torino explained. "She told Toshinori and me that she didn't want us to have any contact with the kid, even if something terrible were to happen to her."
"And in the end, your promise backfired, huh?" Tsukauchi guessed. "I'm sorry to hear that."
All Might clenched his left hand into a tight fist.
"My master gave up her heart so that her family might know a life full of peace." All Might said. "I must track Shigaraki down as soon as possible. I'll find him, and then..."
"Then what? Give him a pat on the head?" Gran Torino interrupted. "You're not looking at him like the villain he is anymore. That's dangerous. Remember that, no matter his lineage, he's still a criminal."
All Might looked away from his mentor in dejection.
"In the meantime, Tsukauchi and I will investigate Shigaraki and the League without you for now." Gran Torino stated. "You stay at UA with Chariot. You still have many responsibilities there. Even if you cannot be the Symbol of Peace that you once were, don't forget that All Might is still alive."
All Might kept looking down, but he understood Gran Torino's words. He then looked up at his wife, who has been strangely silent during the conservation. Tsukauchi and Gran Torino also turned their heads to the silent heroine.
"What's wrong, Ursula?" Tsukauchi asked.
"And who was that woman you were fighting back?" Gran Torino inquired.
Tarot Chariot took a deep breath and looked at the guys with a look on her face.
"That woman was my sister Carina." Tarot Chariot said.
All Might looked stunned at his wife's words.
"H-How? You told me you defeated them a long time ago before we even met." All Might said.
"I thought so too, but apparently, I was wrong." Tarot Chariot said. "I don't know my mother and my sisters survived, but all I know is that I won't rest until I take them down. I did it before and I'll do it again. I just hope they don't work alliance with Shigaraki and his League of Villains."
"Before you start your investigation, I think it's best for you to stay with your husband for the time being." Gran Torino suggested. "You too have many responsibilities back at UA. Just promise me you keep supporting and aiding Toshinori during his recovery."
"Don't worry. I will." Tarot Chariot nodded, placing her comforting hand on All Might's shoulder.
Meanwhile, five U.A. students have finally regrouped with Shoto, Yaoyorozu, Aisha, Selene, and Diana. They located the nearest police station they could find in Kamino Ward and dropped off Katsuki and Luna to meet the police. Izuku was the only one who noticed that Luna and Katsuki have been unexpectedly silent as they were escorted by the policemen.
A half a day later, ten U.A. students finally went home. At the station, Luna squeezed Selene, Aisha, and Diana in tight hug before they parted separate ways.
Once Selene, Diana, and Aisha returned home, they each received different reactions from their families. Selene embraced Edgeshot and Zodiac Moon's soft hug as a response of relief, Black King was shaking Diana violently while White Queen shook her head in annoyance, and Aisha got tackled by her younger sisters as they were hugging her in heavy tears while Amazonite, Ophelia, and Vondergeist looked at their triplets with sweatdrops.
Luna, on the other hand, walked back home in utter silence. She looked down at her cell phone and began reading a news article about her father's final battle. If All Might really can't be the hero he once was anymore, then if it's possible that he might…retire? Luna immediately shook her head, refusing to believe such nonsense, but she did watch her father using the last remaining power of One For All against All For One.
Unable to shake off the strong feeling of guilt, Luna started running forward as she tried fighting off the heavy tears coming out of her eyes.
Later that evening, Tarot Chariot arrived back home and headed over to Luna's room. She hoped that she can at least cheer her daughter up after everything that happened from the kidnapping to All Might's battle against All For One.
As Tarot Chariot arrived at Luna's room, she knocked on the door.
"Luna, honey, are you in there?" Tarot Chariot called.
With no sound of her daughter, Tarot Chariot opened the door and entered the room only to find Luna nowhere in sight.
"Luna?" Tarot Chariot called out. "Luna?"
Tarot Chariot took out her magic card and tossed in the air. The playing card soared out of the room and into the living room as it emitted a rotating scan of light around the entire home. After completion, the magic card returned to its owner.
Tarot Chariot awaited the results just as the magic card affixed itself in between her index and middle fingers.
"Life readings negative. Luna not found." The magic card reported.
Tarot Chariot frowned frantically. She then reached for her phone and activated the homing device. The screen projected a map to zoom in on her daughter's location.
With that, Tarot Chariot exited out of her home.
Later that night, Tarot Chariot scanned through the sky in a very fast speed. Her phone projected a map that located Luna at Dagobah Municipal Park.
Upon arriving, Tarot Chariot finally saw her daughter safe and sound. Luna was holding her knees to her chest while sitting on the sand close to the ocean.
Tarot Chariot flew down and landed upon the sandy shore. Her magic card shrunk back to its normal size and retreated under Tarot Chariot's hat. Tarot Chariot quietly walked up and sat next to Luna.
For a while, neither Luna nor Tarot Chariot had said a word. That is until Luna finally spoke up.
"Mom, can I ask you a question?" Luna spoke.
"Of course, sweetheart. You can tell me anything." Tarot Chariot answered.
"Is it true that dad's retiring?" Luna asked.
Tarot Chariot looked alarmingly stunned by her daughter's words. But she composed herself and placed a comforting hand on her daughter's back.
"Yes...it's true." Tarot Chariot confirmed.
Luna buried her tear-stained face in her knees.
"Yeah, I thought so." Luna said.
"What happened back there wasn't your fault, you know that." Tarot Chariot assured.
"Yes, it is." Luna said in a depressing tone.
"Luna, how can you say that? You haven't done anything wrong to..." Tarot Chariot said.
Luna lifted her head up and turned to her mother with a tear-stained face, causing Tarot Chariot to go wide-eyed.
"Mom, don't you get it?!" Luna shouted. She stood up on her feet and looked down at her mother. "I should've gotten stronger! I thought that maybe if I could prevent myself, Bakugo, and my friends, then none of this...would've..."
Luna screamed and turned away, running her hands through her blonde hair. She dropped her hands down and then let out a heavy sigh.
"Forget it. Just forget it." Luna muttered.
Tarot Chariot stared at Luna with a deep concern look on her face. All this time Luna was blaming herself about everything that had happened after her and Katsuki's abduction. She grabbed Luna by the shoulder and turned her around.
"Now, you listen to me, Luna. You can't never blame yourself for that event." Tarot Chariot said. "Your father knew what he was getting into, but he took that chance to save you and Bakugo's lives. And One For All or not, that doesn't change the fact that he still loves you. He will always be your father to the very end."
A few tears escaped from Luna, feeling a bit better. Luna sniffled and suddenly hugged her mother while sobbing softly. Tarot Chariot hugged her daughter back with a soft smile on her face.
"It's alright, sweetheart. It's all right." Tarot Chariot.
After a few moments of mother-daughter consolation, Luna then pushed herself gently off of Tarot Chariot.
"Feeling better?" Tarot Chariot asked.
"Yeah." Luna replied as she wiped her last tears out of her eyes. "It's gonna take a while to process, but I will train harder and stronger to become a hero like you and dad. I love you, mom."
"I love you too, Luna." Tarot Chariot smiled back.
Tarot Chariot and Luna hugged each other again. They then spotted All Might walked up towards them. His right arm was currently in a sling, but he looked completely fine.
Once All Might stopped right in front of his wife and his daughter, Luna felt the tears coming down her face. She rested her forehead on All Might's chest and hugged him with a smile on her face.
"Daddy..." Luna muttered.
All Might hugged his daughter back and patted her back as Tarot Chariot watched with a soft smile.
"All Might!"
All Might, Luna, and Tarot Chariot turned their heads to see Izuku arriving at the beach.
"Midoriya?" Luna muttered.
"Ah, he finally made it." All Might said.
Izuku began running across the sandy shore.
"Are you okay?" Izuku shouted.
"It sure took you long enough!" All Might shouted back.
"All Might!" Izuku yelled.
Luna and Tarot Chariot watched as All Might and Izuku came rushing towards each other.
Then suddenly, All Might punched Izuku across the face with his functional arm, sending his protégé to fall to the sandy ground. Luna's eyes widened in shock and took a step forward, but Tarot Chariot grabbed her daughter's arm and stopped her. When Luna looked back to protest, Tarot Chariot just shook her head and stared at the conservation between her husband and his protégé.
"You made a promise. But as it turns out, you can't keep your word." All Might scolded. "Ugh, if you kids'd gotten hurt, it would've all been in vain. You've got some bad influences."
Izuku held his right cheek with his hand and looked down at the sand in shame.
"Young Midoriya, listen." All Might spoke calmly. "You also need to listen too, Luna. I'm pretty sure your mother already told you before I got here."
Tarot Chariot accompanied Luna towards All Might and Izuku.
"I'm officially retiring as a pro." All Might confirmed. "It's clear that my body isn't going to allow me to fight another battle."
All Might transformed into his muscular form and punched his functional arm a few times before defaulting back into his true form. When he coughed out blood, Izuku screamed in horror. But Luna and Tarot Chariot looked deeply concerned by that.
"The last sparks of One For All have left my body and my muscle form won't last for any significant amount of time." All Might added. He looked at his fist while speaking to Izuku in a scolding tone. "I can't protect neither you or Luna when you put yourselves in danger now. And you're always rushing in to try to help, no matter what I tell you. Destroying your body over and over. Yet back there, you managed to…"
All Might looked back at Izuku, making his protégé expect another punch from his mentor.
"Rescue your friend and my daughter without being injured or entering into a fight." All Might continued. "I am so proud of you."
To Izuku's surprise, All Might crouched down and hugged him with one functional arm.
"From here on out, I will devote myself to training you." All Might promised. "You're stuck with me, so let's keep working hard together."
Izuku just stared at All Might for a moment until the sign of tears appeared in his eyes.
"Thank you." Izuku said tearfully. "Nothing would make me happier, All Might."
"What'd I say about keeping your word, ya little crybaby?" All Might smiled. He also has small tears in his eyes. "I thought we agreed that you'd stop it with the waterworks."
Izuku clutched his mentor's shirt tight and wailed on All Might's shoulder.
Tarot Chariot placed both hands on Luna's shoulder as Luna gazed at Izuku and All Might with a warm smile. Even though she knew that her father's reign as top hero had officially come to an end, that doesn't stop her from training harder and going to the distance of becoming a hero in both of her parents' footsteps.
The next morning, All Might and Tarot Chariot arrived in Principial Nezu's office alongside Vlad King and Eraser Head at U.A. High.
"Thank you, All Might." Nezu said. "You've saved thousands of people's lives over these many years, though it cost you to your body and strength. As a citizen, a hero, and the principal, I cannot express how grateful we all are to you." He held a tablet that read about All Might's official retirement on a news article. "However, given everything that's happened, there are many who do not believe you should continue as a teacher at UA."
All Might looked down in silence as Tarot Chariot placed a comforting hand on her husband's left shoulder.
"Some are pointing out that our troubles began when you started working here." Nezu added. "They're worried the children will continue to be caught in the crossfire, and that you can't protect them anymore. It is a delicate situation."
Nezu looked back at All Might and the other staffs with an optimistic smile.
"Nevertheless, I believe I know what we need to do to ease the concerns the public has expressed. We must strengthen the faith people have in the heroes we have left." Nezu continued. "It's true the threat we face is still troubling, but we will protect and train with more focus and diligence than ever before. That is why we're going to implement a plan I've had in mind for a while."
Nezu placed a written paper on his desk towards the four heroes.
"I'm counting on you to convince the students' families." Nezu said.
Later on, All Might, Tarot Chariot, and Eraser Head are proceeding their task on convincing the Class 1-A students' families into accepting the dormitory system that can keep them safely on the campus and better protection within the school grounds.
To start off, the heroes visited the Jiro household. Jiro's father Kyotoku has wavy shoulder-length light-gold hair and triangular eyes like his daughter's. He wore a maroon shirt and black pants. His wife Mika has short, straight dark purple hair with bangs that fall to the right side of her face and glasses with black frames. She wore a collared white shell top, a black pencil skirt, and grey tights. She also has plug-like earlobes. But Kyotoku wasn't too convinced about the U.A. dormitory system.
"I dunno. Sounds pretty outta tune to me." Kyotoku said. "I get that you guys don't wanna keep talking about what happened, but moving the kids into dorms isn't going to change the fact that my daughter was injured.
"What you're saying is quite true, Mr. Jiro." Eraser Head acknowledged. "However, I'd like to assure you that this is not a matter of U.A.'s pride. We thought long and hard on the issue, and believe this to be the best course of action."
"We hope that you'll give us the honor of continuing to teach Kyoka." Tarot Chariot added. "We believe whole-heartedly that UA can help her grow into the best hero she can be.
Then, Jiro entered the room with a tray of tea and closed the door with her earphone jacks.
"Whoa. No need for you and Mr. Aizawa to be all formal, Mrs. Chariot." Jiro said. She walked over to the table and placed the tea down on it. "We decided what we were going to do right after we got the notice in the mail. I mean, you shoulda heard my old man during All Might's fight."
Jiro explained that her father announcing All Might's fight with All For One in an emotional, passionate manner.
"Yeah, I'm pretty sure he was crying." Jiro smiled.
"Kyoka, c'mon!" Kyotoku cried. "I was trying to act all strict and stuff for these dudes and dudette."
"Oh, chill, dad." Jiro said.
"Hey, cut it out, you two." Mika said. "Save the aggression for your music."
Eraser Head, All Might, and Tarot Chariot just stared at the Jiro family with blank faces.
After leaving the Jiro household, the three heroes continued making their way across town to the next household.
"You know, I thought the parents would come down on us a lot harder." Eraser Head said as his voice sounded slightly surprised. "I suppose…I owe you two a drink."
All Might chuckled while Tarot Chariot just smiled.
"No thanks. We can't drink. Besides, it's not a contest." All Might said. "Plus, the next family…probably won't so easy."
"I won't worry much, honey." Tarot Chariot said. "I doubt the next family is anything but hostile."
All Might, Tarot Chariot, and Eraser Head then visited the Bakugo household. Katsuki sat on the couch between his father and his mother. His mother Mitsuki has spiky ash-blonde hair and red eyes. She wore a lavender sweater with above the elbow sleeves over a white shirt and dark purple skirt. Her husband Masaru has short, spiky brown hair, a short mustache, and rectangular glasses. He wore a short-sleeved shirt and beige pants.
Mitsuki smacked Katsuki at the back his head after listening the all-dormitory system from the heroes.
"You kidding? Hell yeah, get this kid in a dorm room." Mitsuki said.
"You hag! Hit me again and I'll kill you!" Katsuki yelled.
"Oh, hush!" Mitsuki yelled back as she smacked Katsuki's head again. "If you hadn't been so damn weak, you never would've gotten caught and caused all that trouble!"
"C'mon, you two. Please, no fighting." Masaru said, trying to calm his wife and his son down. "We don't wanna frighten your teachers, do we?"
"Shut it, you clown! Mind your own business!" Katsuki snapped.
"Yeah, you're the one who needs to butt out!" Mitsuki snapped. "Oh, don't you even think about using your Quirk, Katsuki!"
Eraser Head looked at the Bakugo family with a slightly irritated face, while All Might and Tarot Chariot looked utterly surprised and speechless by the darkness in the Bakugo family.
Jeez, some family dynamic. All Might commented.
Okay, I take it back. This family is completely dysfunctional. Tarot Chariot remarked.
"So, you're saying you give us your consent?" Eraser Head questioned.
After finally calming down, Mitsuki then smacked his son's head again and pressed his head down with her hand.
"Oh, the dorm? Actually, we're grateful." Mitsuki replied. She released her hand off of her son's head. "Katsuki's fearless and good at everything he tries, since he's got that stupid awesome Quirk." She looked back at her son. "People were always fawning over him whether he deserved it or not."
That earned Mitsuki a silent glare from Katsuki.
"It's probably why he ended up like this. That's why I liked what you said at the press conference." Mitsuki added. "See, that's when I understood that the school was watching him closely. I was worried about the kid, obviously, didn't know what would happen."
Mitsuki then roughed Katsuki's hair for a bit.
"But he's back now, safe and sound, so it worked out." Mitsuki continued. "I'm sure that UA will face some harsh criticism from some people. But we still trust you, though, so we'll leave him to you." She pushed his son's head down in act of a bow and turned to her husband. "Right?"
Masaru nodded in agreement. He and Mitsuki then bowed their heads.
"He's a hot-tempered brat and we know he's a pain, but please train him hard and make him a good hero." Mitsuki finished.
All Might nudged Eraser Head, who turned his attention to him.
"I owe you a drink for this one." All Might whispered with a smile.
Tarot Chariot giggled quietly.
Eraser Head, Tarot Chariot, and All Might walked their way back to the car.
"Okay, let's see." Eraser Head spoke. He looked down at his phone in his hand. "Midoriya's house is close by, isn't it?"
"All Might."
All Might stopped walking and turned around to see Katsuki walking up to him with a surprisingly calm look on his face.
"I gotta know. What exactly are Deku and Luna to you?" Katsuki questioned.
Eraser Head listened to Katsuki's question with slight confusion, but only Tarot Chariot knew the exact reason to the student's question.
"They're my students just like you." All Might answered. "Two fledgling heroes with bright prospects."
"Dammit, Katsuki! The police said not to wandering off by yourself!" Mitsuki yelled.
After a moment of silence, Katsuki spun around and walked back inside.
"Yeah, sure." Katsuki said. "If you don't wanna tell me, that's fine. Oh, and thank you."
"Katsuki!" Mitsuki yelled again.
"I heard you!" Katsuki yelled back.
As All Might watched Katsuki silently, Tarot Chariot began processing Katsuki's question.
That boy's pretty observant. Tarot Chariot thought. Is it possible Bakugo could have learn the true relationship between All Might and Midoriya along with Luna since the retirement?
All Might, Tarot Chariot, and Eraser Head then visited the Midoriya family apartment. All Might opened the door and walked out of the vehicle along with Tarot Chariot.
"You're sure you and your wife will be all right by yourself?" Eraser Head asked from inside his car.
"Yeah." All Might replied with a thumb-up. "We need to sit down with everyone in Class A by day's end, right? So, we'll divide and conquer. We'll take this pace and you can move on to the next person we have to convince."
After Eraser Head agreed, the car drove off that'll lead him to the next Class 1-A student's family home.
Before Tarot Chariot could follow All Might, she was suddenly mesmerized at the sight of a floating black eye-like robot hovering over a nearby building from the distance. It was approximately two feet in diameter with a dark grey iris. She narrowed her eyes at it with a glare as she immediately knew that device belong to her undisclosed family.
"Toshinori, is it okay if I can handle this visit on your own?" Tarot Chariot asked.
"Yeah, of course." All Might replied. "Why? Something's wrong?"
Tarot Chariot's eyes were still glued on the eye-like robot. All Might silently followed his wife's gaze and caught the sight of the robot.
"Oh, I see." All Might said. "Just be careful."
"Always." Tarot Chariot said. "And good luck."
Tarot Chariot pecked a kiss on All Might's cheek and soared away.
Tarot Chariot flew over the nearby building and followed behind the robot, who was guiding her far away from the city. The robot was greeted with pink energy cards being aimed at it, but it swiftly dodged the charging energy cards.
Then, the robot arrived at the pier and came to a stop before turning to face Tarot Chariot, who also stopped her tracks. The eye-like robot projected a holographic screen from its light gray aperture-like pupil and Carina showed up on the screen.
"Greetings, Ursula." Carina greeted.
"What do you want?" Tarot Chariot growled.
Carina looked unamused at her younger sister's attitude.
"No need to get angry, Ursula." Carina said. "Can a big sister greet her little sister after all these years?"
"I said what. Do. You. Want?" Tarot Chariot demanded angrily.
"Alright, I'll cut to the chase." Carina said with a calm look on her face. "As you know, I've already informed our mother and our sister of your long-lost return after last night's events. We all have agreed that you will renounce your heroic status and rejoin the Amarante Coven. We can forget your foolish rebellion and rebuild our clan just like we did a long time ago."
Tarot Chariot looked incredibly annoyed by Carina's offer.
"Forget it!" Tarot Chariot said sternly. "I don't know what makes you think I will be gullible enough to take your offer, but I don't care about the Amarante Coven anymore. Not then, not now. I chose to become a pro hero. I chose to marry the Symbol of Peace who loves and cares about me. And I chose to train my daughter to follow the path of a hero. So, no. I will not come back. End of discussion."
"Are you seriously choosing your new life over your own family?" Carina asked with narrow eyes.
"And what if I am?" Tarot Chariot retorted.
"You are out of line, Ursula." Carina said with a mix of anger and fury. "I'm not interested in your hopeless thoughts of being a hero. You have disrespected me and my time with your nonsense. I was willing to give you a chance to redeem yourself and this is how you respond? You are to return to the coven at once and take full responsibility of your actions! IS! THAT! CLEAR?!"
Tarot Chariot listened to Carina's words with no emotions of anger and fury. Her face remained composed as she stared at the screen.
"I'm staying with my husband and my daughter." Tarot Chariot spoke icily.
Carina's eyes widened on the screen.
"And let me I can tell you something. I don't care what you say, I don't care what you do, and I don't even care if I ever see you again, but if you ever come near my daughter again, I'll make you pay." Tarot Chariot said.
After a moment of silence, Carina glared at Tarot Chariot in pure anger.
"Very well, Ursula. I'll accept your decision. But once we meet again, we are no longer sisters. The coven will do anything to take you and your offspring in by force." Carina warned.
"And I'll be ready until then." Tarot Chariot said.
Tarot Chariot generated a pink energy card and shot it straight at the pupil, cutting off the transmission. She walked up to the broken robot and reached down to pick up in her hands as she started longingly at it.
Meanwhile, Carina confronted Oriana and Ariella sitting on their leatherette throne chairs.
"I'm sorry, but...I failed." Carina stated. "Ursula won't be coming home."
Ariella began crying tears of sadness.
"B-But why? I'm relieved that Ursula was alive after all this time, but..." Ariella said.
"That Ursula." Carina growled in irritation. She approached her throne and sat on it. "How could she do this to us? Why did she make us think she was dead? And how can she keep her secret life, including her own daughter, away from us? Luna deserved to know the full extent of our family's power and her heritage!"
"My dear daughters." Oriana spoke calmly. "We may have lost Ursula's trust that she once had in our home, but she's also the one who lied to her own daughter about her birthright in the end. It is time to give Luna the opportunity to see things our way from us."
Oriana turned her head forward and noticed the presence of three mysterious silhouettes.
"It looks like you'll have your moment in the spotlight after all." Oriana said.
Enjoy and review.
