School
At the Glasshouse primary school
"Bluey still isn't here?" Asked a concerned Coco.
"No, she isn't. I hate it when grown-ups never tell us anything." Responded an annoyed Indy.
"They're always like that, 'family reasons' is what Calypso told us."
"Well it isn't our place to ask other people what's happening to someone else, it's very rude." Rusty butted in.
"But she is our friend, we are worried why she isn't coming to school for!" Indy said.
"But Bluey might not like the reason being known, so let's just calm down and when she does come back, don't ask why she didn't come to school, but if she is okay, so you don't come off as rude, but caring, okay?"
"Yeah, yeah." Coco was annoyed. "it still won't make me stop wondering why she didn't come." She quietly said.
At the Kindy
Lila was drawing a picture of Bingo and her together on the water slide that Bandit had bought. Bingo was the bug inspector, whilst Lila was waiting for the all-clear.
"Where are you Bingo? Why aren't you here?" Lila thought to herself. That is what she kept thinking everyday when Bingo didn't come. While Lila did have other friends at the kindy, she always kept thinking about Bingo, she was her best friend afterall and her not seeing her for so long, has deeply saddened her.
"Still thinking about Bingo, Lila?" Mrs. Retriever asked.
"Yeah... Why hasn't she been coming?" Lila said in a sad voice while focusing on the drawing.
"I can't say why, but don't worry, after a bit of time i'm sure she will be back."
"Okay..."
It's not the first time she heard that she will be back, but what concerned her, was if those words were true.
Max's school
He was minding his own business, going through the school day as usual. He was anticipating one thing though and he already started to see them come to him.
"Hey Max, having fun i see?" A kid said.
"Stop, don't even start." Max wasn't scared of them anymore, just severly annoyed. For him this has been a daily routine ever since he started going to school here.
"Don't start what? We just wanna talk." Him and his pal laughed a bit. Max wasn't even looking at them, he was just reading his book.
"Hey? Hello? Is the idiot not home?"
"You know what Cal? You're insults are just about as good as your intellect. I think even an idiot as yourself can figure out what i meant."
Cal got really pissed at what Max said.
"Take that back."
"Why would i wanna take idiot, seems like a very stupid thing to do, well i know you would considering everything, but it's a no thanks fro-" Before he could finish what he was saying, his book was snatched away from him.
"NOW. Take back what you said or this won't be a book anymore."
"Really? I mean really? How many movies have you watched? Lemme tell you something, you are not important to anyone as much as you think you are, so stop this damn facade and give me my goddamn book back!" Max was getting irritated now.
This comment sent Cal over the edge and he threw the book at Max, but he managed to duck just in time and it went past, while he was standing back up, Cal charged him and they both got on the floor. Cal got a few hits on Max before he got him off of him. They were ready to beat the living shit out of one another. Cal tried to go for a punch, but Max managed to grab his hand, pull Cal towards him, place his foot behind his and push him back. Cal fell on the ground, he held his head for a bit, cleary holding back tears from the pain.
"Cmon, get up, don't be afraid." Max taunted.
Cal was getting up very slowly, it seemed that the fall gave him a small concussion. After he got back up he tried to go for another punch, but it was sloppier than his first one and Max managed to easily dodge it and then he went to punch him right in the nose and Cal fell down again, this time he was crying and there was blood coming out of his nose. Max was laughing at him.
"So you can talk, but you can't fight? Pathetic." He was walking over to grab his book, but then he remembered something, he turned around.
"I forgot about you, do you also wanna fight?" Max said to the person Cal was with. He just ran off.
Max grabbed his book. He looked at his right fist, it hurt like hell after he punched Cal, he tried his best to ignore it. He went on with his day, knowing that soon, he will be in trouble.
Principal's office
"So, that's what happened." Max calmly said.
"It does not excuse you to hurt a fellow classmate!" The principal said.
"He threw the first punch, i was just defending myself!" Max started to get defensive.
"You were the one that taunted him and didn't go to a teacher and tell that Cal was bothering you."
"This whole time! I was in this stupid school i had to deal with him!"
"Calm dow-" She got cut of by a very angry Max.
"Every. Single. Time i went and told any of you about him, you didn't do anything! So what? I was just supposed to 'deal' with it the whole damn time i was here? huh?!"
"MAX! CALM DOWN! I understand your frustration, but it will never excuse what you did!" The principal was getting annoyed by Max.
Max scoffs and rolls his eyes.
"Don't do that young man! I promise you will be in huge trouble!"
Max just stares at her eyes, with an angry expression on his face.
"Just wait till your father gets here."
30 minutes pass and John shows up.
"Hello? what happened?" John said.
"Your son attacked a fellow classmate."
"And why would he do that?" John leaned on the chair.
"You can sit."
"It's fine. Why did you do that Max?"
"It was that kid that i told you about, i got fed up with him and taunted him."
John looked at the principal, she gave a nod.
"Okay? Then... Who threw the first punch?"
"That doesn't matte-"
"No, it does. Who threw the first punch Max?"
"He did."
John again looks at the principal for confirmation.
"Yes, Cal was the first one who threw the punch."
"Okay then, case solved. Can i leave?"
"No, he still hurt a classmate!"
"It was self-defense, it's pretty self explanatory."
"BUT!"
"But nothing! Do you wanna step outside or deal with business here?" John sounded threatening.
"I- Uh-" She was shocked that somebody had the balls to threaten her.
"I thought so. You got anything else to say?" John sounded cocky.
"This is his first and final warning, anything else like this and there WILL be consequences."
"That's alright."
"Max, you can go back to class. Sir, you are free to leave aswell."
John and Max both left the office. John kneeled down to Max's height and told him.
"Good job, you weren't the one to start the fight, but you stood up for yourself, definetly handled it better then i would."
"But you gave me the advice on how to handle it, so how would you have handled it worse then me?"
"Well we all learn things during life, we don't know how to handle situations from the start. I certainly didn't, but now i do and i share that knowledge with you as i should because i'm your parent."
"What did you do?"
"What?"
"How did you handle the situations when you didn't know how?"
"I... I did some bad things, i got really mad and well, once i threw kid out of the second story window."
Max just stared, he was a bit of his father because of what he did. John noticed this.
"But that is why i'm teaching you how to handle it, so you don't repeat my mistakes."
"Okay dad." Max held his right hand. It still hurt from the punch.
"You okay?"
"Yeah, it just hurts a bit from when i punched him."
"Tell me if it still hurts when you get back home."
"I will."
"Yeah, well i think you spent enough time here and me too, i gotta go back to work adn you need to go back to class." John hugged Max and then they both started to walk their seperate.
John stopped for a second and looked back.
"Hey son."
Max looked back. "Yeah dad?"
"As i said, i don't want you to repeat my mistakes."
Max just looked.
"Yeah... i don't wanna see another good window be wasted."
Max chuckled and they continued.
John's car
"Well, i think i handled that right... Does this whole parenting thing ever get easier? Always worried about what i say, i want to give him the childhood i never had, but it sure ain't easy... Well gotta get back to work." John started his car and drove off.
Max's classroom
He walked in, everyone was looking at him, some kids with disgust over what he did too Calm, Max brushed it off and sat down, continuing learning. He was still annoyed at how the principal reacted. "She is dumb, like he threw the first punch not me! i was defending myself!" He thought to himself before focusing on what the teacher was teaching.
Back at the Glasshouse primary school
"I heard there is a new kid that's coming." Jack said to Rusty.
"Where did you hear that?"
"When i was going to the car, i saw calypso talking to someone and i overheard them talking about some like 'My daughter wants to go here' or something like that.
"Well i hope they are nice."
"Yeah me too. Hey do you think she would wanna play army with us?"
"Maybe, it would be fun to have a third friend who would play army with us."
"Yeah it would. How is cricket going for you anyways?"
"Good, i appreciate you helping me practice, nobody stands a chance against me."
They high-fived eachother and went back to playing army.
Back at the kindy
"Hey Lila."
Lila turned around to see who it was, it was Missy.
"Hey Missy..."
"Still thinking about Bingo?"
"Yeah... I just, she is my best friend and i'm worried why she isn't coming here, i asked Mrs. Retriever, but she says she can't say why."
Missy sat down next to Lila.
"I miss her too, but she will come back, maybe she is just sick?"
"Then why wouldn't she say that Bingo is just sick?"
Missy sighed. "I don't know, but i know she will be back."
"How do you know?"
"I know Bingo would never leave us." Missy put her arm over Lila as they both quietly sat there.
