Sara found her way to A/V after a call from Nick to let her know Archie was processing some footage of the karaoke bar. The case of Mickey Dunn had Greg pumped, especially since he loved all things Las Vegas mob era. She'd already sent him a text telling him to cool his jets and let the evidence speak before he ran off on a tangent like he sometimes did regarding mob history. She'd originally had been waiting to work on the gold Cadillac but Catherine had ordered her away from the garage. The redhead was worried about toxins and whatever else might be in the car due to it being in the water over thirty years. The brunette was finding that some of the things she did before pregnancy was a no-go.

"Hey Archie, Nick said we have some footage." She walked in and he turned his head as she sat beside him.

"Yeah. Mandi let it slip they have fingerprints and Wendy said they have DNA. With the footage, we should be getting a match soon. I was going to run a scan of his face across DMV and state agencies."

Sara nodded. "Yeah, good idea."

"I haven't gotten a chance before now, but congrats on the baby." Archie smiled after speaking to her. "You know there's a betting pool already regarding the gender, birth date, and weight. Zori from Days said that there's even a name pool, but even I'm not going to play on that one. I doubt any of us will guess what you two will name the kid."

Sara smirked. "Can I have in?"

"I don't plan on betting so you can bet under my name if you want." Archie told her. "I'm not into betting on things that I have no control over."

"Girl, July 15, seven-ten." She told him.

"You really think it's going to be a girl?"

Sara's smirk died away into a softer smile. "Yeah, I have a feeling it's a girl. Don't ask me how I know because I just know."

"Mother's intuition." Archie started to work on the computer to bring up their footage. "Nothing beats that. I just wonder how Grissom is going to take to having a daughter."

"I have a feeling he'll take to it like bees and honey." She felt the need to throw the bug reference in her comment. "Naturally. I mean, he's already excited about this pregnancy."

Archie nodded. "I heard Wendy and Mandi talking about it being an oops baby."

"Oops baby or not, we're looking forward to being parents." Sara saw he had the footage up.

Mandi and Wendy showed up as they went through the video a second time. Sara turned her head and smiled at them Wendy perched beside her as Mandi stood by the computer, all them taking in the quite good karaoke despite the singer being their suspect. "Despite a bust on fingerprints, this guy can sing."

"Bust on DNA too." Wendy told her and nudged Sara's shoulder with her own. "Sorry."

"Can't show what's not there."

Archie shook his head as his computer beeped. "Nothing on DMV or state agencies."

"This just doesn't make sense." Sara told the three.

"I'll run the DNA again, maybe get a family member that's locked up." Wendy told her and Sara nodded.

Mandi left with Wendy and Sara turned to Archie. "One more time?"

"Couldn't hurt."

Two more runs and Sara shook her head as she found herself annoyed. "How could we be sitting on this much evidence and still have nothing?"

"Well, I can tighten up the image for you." Archie reached his hand out to the computer.

"I don't think more pixels are going to solve the problem. You got the face."

Archie nodded, "and the name." He put his head against his fist and looked back at the screen.

"Plus photos, witnesses, DNA samples, handwriting, prints. There's no record in DMV or AFIS."

The video stopped as he paused it. "He knew exactly where the cameras were."

Realizing what Archie was telling her, she continued on the thought. "He played right to them."

"Obviously wasn't afraid of being identified."

"Why not?" It was an interesting question Sara asked and they looked at each other.

Leaving A/V, Sara swung across the lab to the garage and grabbed a mask from a nearby shelf and held it as she walked in to see Catherine and Greg going through the vehicle. Catherine looked up to see her and pointed to the doorway.

"Nope, back yourself right out of this garage."

"Come on Catherine, you and I both know if I wear a mask and double glove with overalls, I'll be fine." Sara told her. "Pregnant doesn't mean disabled."

Catherine looked straight at the brunette. "I said no."

"I've been to A/V, DNA, Trace, Handwriting, Fingerprints. All of the sub-labs have seen me within the last two hours. I'm sitting on my hands at the moment."

"Go eat then. Get out of this garage. If it was just a normal car, you could be all over it without me saying anything. This wreck, not a chance are you allowed in here."

Sara was about to answer back when her phone beeped. A glance down let her know it was Sofia mentioning lunch so she texted her back confirming she was free. "The only reason I'm not fighting you Catherine is because Sofia wants to get lunch."

"Good, go have lunch with Sofia."

Meeting Sofia at a little bistro, the two women ordered immediately knowing they had limited time till they were due back for work. The blonde listened to Sara as she explained how Catherine was treating her like an invalid regarding the gold Cadillac recovered from Lake Mead. Eventually, Sara calmed enough for Sofia to talk.

"Do you remember Rick Wright from Days?" Sofia asked her as she watched Sara drink down half her water glass faster than normal due to her straw. "Anyways, three months into my position as Day Shift supervisor, we found out he had a nasty fungal infection. We managed to trace it back to a Lake Mead vehicle and he was wearing a mask. Catherine's making the right call, even if you don't think so."

"I just don't like how suddenly I'm porcelain." Sara told her while pushing her straw up and down in the ice water. "Catherine treats me like I could break any second."

Sofia chuckled. "Just means she cares." Her expression sobered. "My mom knows about me and Greg."

"Who doesn't?" Sara smirked, "what did she have to say?"

"I need to dump him and start dating someone my own age. I get the feeling she thinks Greg is younger than he actually is."

"Maturity-wise, he is. That's probably where she gets the idea." Sara glanced at the blonde looking down before asking a question. "What did you tell her to that?"

Sofia shrugged. "That she better get used to the idea of Greg Sanders because he's going nowhere in my life for the foreseeable future."

"And her reaction?"

"Silence, as is her usual response to anything I say she doesn't like." Sofia grabbed for her own water glass. "My mother has two modes, cop and silence."

"I hope she doesn't stay silent for long. You and I both know that Greg has some immature attributes but he makes up for it."

They were finished with their meal and waiting on the check when Sofia's phone rang. She pulled it from her waist and answered. "Curtis." Nodding, she responded seconds later. "I'll head there immediately. I have Charlie 05 Sidle-Grissom with me, no need to call CSI. Just report to the coroner. Thanks Jill." She hung up and looked to Sara. "I'm sure a crime scene will cheer you up."

"Definitely. Good thing I suggested we take my SUV instead of your car." Sara told her, "that way I have my kit and vest."

As they climbed into the vehicle, Sofia glanced at Sara. "How's the baby doing?"

"No bigger than the size of a kidney bean. It's not doing much right now other than growing."

"Just so you know, Greg and I both put in our wager for all the pools except names. Anyone that thinks they have a clue of what you or Grissom will name your kid has lost their minds."

Sara chuckled as Sofia put the SUV into drive as soon as they both wore seatbelts. "What did you two guess?"

"Greg thinks it'll be a girl, but I'm thinking boy. We both have July 14 as a date, but weights differ by a few ounces. I said seven-nine and Greg said seven-two."

"I put in a wager too. Archie doesn't plan on betting so he said I could put my bet under his name." She elaborated, "girl, July 15, and seven-ten."

Sofia chuckled softly. "Brass put his in as a girl, same date as you, and eight-two. I told him he was nuts thinking this baby will be big. You'd have to have a c-section if the baby is bigger than seven pounds. Your waist is small and you have a slight frame, a big baby would present a difficult birth."

"Gil and I are working on what birth options we think are realistic. If the hospital offers a water birth, I'd love to try that."

"Everyone thinks it a girl."

Sara nodded. "I have this feeling it's a girl. I can't explain how I know, I just do."

"I'd never bet against you Sara."

The crime scene was strange to Sara but she went about photographing the room and the victim. She listened as Sofia spoke with the prostitute that the victim had been with previously. Eventually, she joined Sara at the door looking down at the victim. Sara knew they were on the same page.

"I don't get it. A john walks by, the door may be open, but why walk in?"

Her question made sense. "Who was the room registered to?"

Going to her notes, she told Sara what she had. "Well, the manager said an older woman. A Pamela Voorhees." She glanced up at Sara and pointed with her thumb to the wall, meaning the front of the motel. "He's got a camera in the lobby."

Impressed and happy, Sara met blue eyes. "So we'll get a face." Looking to the other side of the room, she continued her thought process. "I'd love an address to go with that." Sara moved over to the suitcases and looked at the tag to find it empty. Planning to move to the second suitcase, she knocked against the first and it was too light. She picked it up and knew it was empty so she looked back at Sofia. On the same page, Sofia used her pen to open the closet door. It was empty and so the blonde looked back at Sara. "Empty bags. Empty Closet. Bags could have been a lure.

At that moment David walked in. "Hey guys, busy day."

Sofia nodded. "Hey David."

"David, can you get us a TOD please?"

David opened the victim's mouth and found a balled up paper. "Oh. There's something in the mouth." Sara started taking pictures before and after David removed the paper.

"Bizarre." Was Sofia's response.

David unfolded the paper to show it was actually a photograph. "It's my second one today." He motioned to one of the men in the photo, his face crossed off. "That guy got hit by a limo."

In true Grissom fashion, Sara made a witty comment as she looked at the photograph. "I guess that makes this a hit list."

Returning to the lab, Sara worked on the evidence from her crime scene. Grissom found her in the layout room after an hour. She looked up with a smile and noticed his tired eyes. He was definitely in need of a sabbatical. Just a month away and he'd be in New England away from Vegas and it's crimes."

"Hey, you okay?" She asked as he walked over to her and glanced at her evidence.

"Strange that our cases are linked." He told her, "I have Archie combing through the front desk video."

Sara nodded. "Sofia and I were having lunch when we got the call. Have you eaten at all?"

"Catherine ordered sandwiches for the team. I managed to find time to eat one."

"Good." Sara smiled at him. "You need to eat regularly too." After a moment she continued speaking. "There's a betting pool going around regarding the baby. Sex, birth date, weight. I put a wager in under Archie since he's not going to bet."

Grissom nodded as he processed what she was saying. "How much is a bet?"

"Twenty, not a lot."

"And your predictions?" He seemed genuinely curious at what she thought.

Sara turned to him a fraction. "Girl, July 15, seven-ten."

"Hmm, so you think it's a girl?"

She nodded at his question. "Don't ask me how I know, but I know this baby is a girl."

"We shall see if your intuition is correct when checked by ultrasound."

Chuckling, she turned back to the layout table and her evidence. "Sofia said she'd never bet against me. What about you?"

"I concur with Sofia. Betting against you is a dangerous road." Reaching out, Grissom took her right hand in his own and squeezed it before letting go. "By the way, I like that you're getting more sun than in the past. It brings out your freckles." His eyes glanced over her arms and chest exposed by the shirt's v-neck. Before Sara could come up with something to tell him, he was gone from the room. She just shook her head and went back to examining her evidence, mainly the empty suitcases.

Getting a cup of decaf coffee, Sara looked up from where she was putting cream and sugar in the cup to see Catherine. The redhead walked over and looked at the brunette, shaking her head as she did. "Did your OB tell you not to drink more than one cup of coffee a day?"

"Mother hen much." Sara told her. "It's decaf, and while it has no caffeine, it tricks my brain into thinking it's helping."

"I just worry about you Sara." Catherine sighed. "You and I both know your OB has explained advanced maternal age and it's risks."

Sara took a sip of her coffee. "She explained it to both of us and we're not going into this without knowing risks. I'll have this one at thirty-five and my second before I hit forty. We know the risks, but my OB stated that as long as I'm healthy and capable of doing things, there should be no restrictions."

Catherine nodded. "Okay, I'll back off, but know I'm here if you need anything."

"Will do." Sara's expression turned to amusement. "What did you put down regarding the betting pool for the baby?"

"You know about that?"

Sara nodded. "Of course I know, it's my baby."

"Girl, July 2, seven-two."

"Almost everyone thinks it's a girl." Sara chuckled. "I can't explain how I know but I know it's a girl."

"I felt the same thing with Lindsey. Eddie kept on telling me I was wrong and it was a boy but I was right." Catherine nodded her head to the door. "Drink and then join the guys in the layout room. I'm going to be in a meeting but Grissom is going over what we have regarding the case."

Sara walked into the layout room as Grissom, Greg, and Warrick were laying out photos and reports across the table and walls. "I hope I'm not late to the party."

"No Dear." Grissom told her in his automatic way and she noticed Greg and Warrick smile as he did so.

Warrick let her slid between him and Grissom, his attention on laying out the photos. "Hey you."

"Hey."

"I heard Catherine booted you from the garage."

Sara nodded. "Apparently the car was too toxic for me to be around. She's gone all mother hen since she was told I was pregnant."

"Give her some time, she'll back off."

Grissom laid the last photo down and looked at everything. "The victims – Ken Billings, Mason Carter, Derek Paul, and Johnny D'Angelo. All murdered within the last twenty-four hours."

"Four victims, three killers, no connection between them." Sara stated.

Greg followed her up. "Jonny D'Angelo is on both lists."

"Could be he hired the others." Warrick interjected.

"Could be. We don't know where they are. We don't know who they are." Sara told Warrick.

"Let's stick to what we do know. All the victims worked for Mickey Dunn, who's been dead for thirty years."

Warrick added. "Well check this out. I've been digging through police files all morning." He picked up a file. "And guess who I've found. Officer Eddie Sanchez." He held out the file and dropped it in front of Sara on the table. "The "Ghost Rider," now assuming he's alive, the officer would be fifty-five today." Sara picked up the file and opened it as the man continued. "And he has family down in Mexico."

Sara glanced up. "So you're thinking bike cop shoots Mickey Dunn, dumps the car, and takes the money?" Warrick was nodding to what she suggested.

"And with the exchange rate, lives like a king south of the border for thirty years." Greg told them.

"Fast forward, Mickey Dunn's car gets discovered." Warrick stated while looking at Greg.

Sara added to their suspicions. "By a Mexican fisherman who would be just about the same age as the bike cop." Again Warrick nodded as she made her suggestions.

"Only the discovery was bogus. Turns out the hood ornament pulled from Lake Mead is a fake." Greg informed them.

Sara seemed confused for a moment. "So the fisherman was what, pulling off a hoax?" Greg only shrugged, not knowing the answer.

"That or fraud, he either planted that derringer at the crime scene, or maybe someone paid him to." Grissom finally gave a piece of his mind.

"Either way, whoever did it knew that this car was down there."

Greg followed Warrick. "And was missing the original hood ornament."

"Who could know that?" Sara asked them.

"Someone who was there the night it went down." Grissom stated but Sara could tell his mind was on something specific, especially since he was looking at photos of their killers. She'd seen it before and she was sure she'd see that occupied look again in the future.

"The motorcycle cop's looking better every minute." Greg told them as Grissom picked up photos and his attention was solely on them.

As he turned to leave the layout room with the photos in hand, Sara called after him. "Hey, don't rule out the ghost of Mickey Dunn."

Warrick glanced between Sara and Greg. "What's going on with him?"

"Probably is seeing something we're not seeing yet." Sara offered. "It happens a lot." She just glanced at Warrick with her smile tight. "I've gotten used to it."

Sara grinned as she stood making breakfast and arms wrapped around her. She turned her head a fraction to see Grissom as he kissed her exposed shoulder. Catherine was dealing with Mickey Dunn so Grissom had left shortly after Sara had. She'd showered and was starting on breakfast when he walked in the townhouse. She felt his arm slip around her waist but his hand moved a fraction lower to rest over their growing child.

"One day I'm going to walk in to you making breakfast with a little one sitting on the counter helping in whatever way you'll allow." He spoke to her as he continued to hold her. "Breakfast will be the time we spend together, the three of us."

"Hmm, that goes both ways." Sara turned back to her chopping a squash, which would go in their vegetable medley for their lunch. The frittata was in the oven already. "The helping I mean."

After a moment he spoke again. "I'm going to miss you my darling."

"You'll just be gone a month." Sara told him as she put down the knife and turned in his arms, "perhaps longer than we'd wish but you need it. This baby and I need you at your best and right now you're tired every time I look at you. It concerns me because I've never seen you like this and I worry you won't be present if you don't take care of yourself."

He nodded as he ran his hand up and down her arm. "I'm starting to realize you have a point. Today, I felt half like I normally do. Usually I can interact with conversations but you three were on facts while I was trying to keep up."

"You don't have to worry about me, even though I know you will. Catherine is a mother hen who had me sitting on my hands at one point today. Greg and Sofia are on high alert and don't get me started on Nick and Warrick."

Grissom seemed confused. "What did they do?"

"Opening doors, offering to help with items that weigh less than ten pounds, trying to get me to eat despite having just seen me eat. I swear, everyone has forgotten that pregnancy doesn't mean invalid." She turned back to the counter and her chopping. "And don't try to make light of what they're doing. I'm five seconds from snapping at everyone for how I'm being treated."

"Shall I alert Brass on the potential murders that will occur?"

Sara turned her head to look at him. "Ha-ha. Very funny."

"Breathe." Grissom kissed her shoulder and released his hands from her. "What can I help with?"

"Nothing, stay out of my kitchen." Sara told him and he left her to her cooking.

Everyone is trying to help Sara but she sees it as annoying. She wants to be independent and do her job without interference.
