Last time on RWBY X Meta Runner: Worlds Collide…

Tari and Theo have received a copy of the upcoming game, RWBY: World of Remnant. And much like every game, they gain new weapons, new skills, and this time, a new quest. Journeying to Beacon Academy, they met some friendly, as well as unfriendly faces. The latter, however, was the Huntsmen and Huntresses of Beacon, brainwashed by the world-destroying robot warlord Vekk-Torr. His mission here: To subdue its protectors and destroy it, as he did to countless worlds. Now, our heroes are stuck between a rock and a hard place, as they were transported to the ship Vekk-Torr calls home.

How will Tari and Theo escape Vekk-Torr's ship? Stay tuned and find out!

Seconds ago, Tari and Theo escaped from Teams CRDL and CFVY, two brainwashed teams of huntsmen sent to kill them by the villainous Vekk-Torr. However, they have arrived on the ship of the warlord. As the mechanism landed on the storage bay, all of the workers there looked in awe at what landed. Concerned, the heroes step out of it. As they stepped onto the floor of the ship, they began shivering in the cold wind. Theo could only think of positive thoughts as he and Tari progressed through the bay.

"I don't like the looks of this." He said.

"Me neither." Tari agreed.

Just then, a door leading to one of the ship's halls opened, and Tri-El and Err-Yr walked out of it. The two robots saw the two visitors and came across them.

"What should we do about them?" Tri-El questioned his colleague.

"You know the boss would like to see them, scrapscalp!" Err-Yr answered him by knocking on his screen.

Theo laughed at the two robots arguing with each other. The two then paused their bickering and focused their attention on the Ultra Jump Mania protagonist.

"You think this is funny, shrimp?" Tri-El asked Theo.

"Run!" Tari yelled.

The two heroes bolted into the hallway, knocking away the two robots that were in their way. As the two robots recover, they see the heroes running away from them.

"After 'em?" Err-Yr suggested.

"Yeah, duh!" Tri-El screamed. "But… first things first."

Tri-El then activated an alarm on his holographic tablet, which signaled everyone on the ship to pursue the heroes. From soldiers to technicians, scientists to doctors, and even cooks have entered the pursuit of the heroes. The chase carried through from numerous rooms and hallways, and thanks to Tari's jetpack and Theo's parkour prowess, they managed to lose every single pursuer. The duo managed to locate an elevator in a hallway near the front of the ship, but only to be guarded by a half dozen of robot soldiers. Theo threw his coconut at the leftmost soldier, hitting his head and ricocheting across the other five, knocking them out.

"Nice shot!" Tari complimented.

"Thanks!" Theo replied when he caught his coconut.

As the two enter the elevator, they see a mob of robots running toward them. Tari activated her Meta Runner Vision as she looked for the close elevator button. By spamming it as fast as she can, the doors quickly began to close slowly, with each press speeding it up. As the doors closed, the heroes sighed with relief from harm. But then, the elevator started to rise to the top floor of the ship. The heroes began to panic as the mechanic rose them higher and higher in the ship. Tari pulled out her sword as she prepared to face the upcoming danger. As the elevator rose to the top, the doors opened and two mechanical tendrils came after Tari. Theo threw his coconut at them, but it was deflected and a third one came after him. Tari was then entangled by her attacker, while Theo got out of harm's way and evaded the one trying to capture him. Tari wasn't lucky. The tendrils ensnared her and were dragged away to another room.

"Tari! Hang on!" Theo yelled as he pursued after her.

But the tendril from before knocked him away before he had a chance to throw his coconut. As they took Tari to the control room, Theo can do nothing but watch her friend get kidnapped. But as she was dragged away, Theo then knelt and frowned.

"We shouldn't have come here." He said as he headed towards the elevator.

Surprisingly, he found his coconut.

"Oh, that's right. Forgot something." He mentioned when he turned around.

Theo ran towards his coconut and picked it up. By doing so, a door to a room unexpectedly opened. He progressed to said room where he saw a red button. Meanwhile, in the captain's quarters, Vekk-Torr is in the middle of a conversation with one of the brainwashed Huntresses of Beacon, Coco Adel. The latter was on one of the monitors the warlord created with his technomancy.

"We had her, but her partner proved to be an annoyance." She informed her new leader.

"Well, if you didn't light the forest on fire, they wouldn't get far!" He yelled.

The control room door opened and the tendrils threw Tari right onto the floor. As she recovered from the throw, the warlord turned around and looked at what arrived.

"Well, looks like that troublemaker found her way onto my ship." He informed the Huntress.

The monitor went off as Vekk-Torr started to grab Tari by the head.

"So… you're the troublemaker everyone has been talking about in Beacon." He speculated. "Let's see how much trouble you have gotten yourself into."

He then squeezed her head, activating her powers. By doing so, he began to analyze her history. In fourteen seconds, he saw Tari's life flash before him. He paused for a moment and dropped the Meta Runner. In an act of desperation, Tari dashed toward her sword and picked it up. She ran towards the door to look for Theo. As she exited the control room, she found her friend in the room he discovered.

"Theo, you're safe!" She cheered.

"Of course I'm safe!" He replied as the two hugged each other.

However, the door unexpectedly closed and the room's lights began to power on. One by one, the lights reveal a part of the warlord's collection. From tattered capes to torn masks, weapons, and peripherals in numerous shapes and sizes, and even severed limbs and heads from numerous adversaries. Tari and Theo look in shock at the humongous collection and approach a massive wall with an insanely long list of pictures of heroes and villains of different worlds. Amongst the pictures, one has been pinned under the label "NEXT TARGET". A picture of Team RWBY, one of Beacon's top huntresses.

"What is he?" Theo asked his friend.

"He's… a bounty hunter," Tari responded.

Then, a loud snikt sound echoed throughout the room and a familiar figure approached them slowly.

"Correction. I am like the majority of the humans on this planet, a huntsman." It broke in.

The duo then paused and turned around to see Vekk-Torr, standing in place nine feet away from them. Menacingly. Also, he was holding a retractible longsword his size. He then lunged at the two, attempting to kill them. The two managed to escape the attack, which led them to run from the pursuer. The warlord grabbed a blue gem and then was teleported to where the interlopers are. They turned away from his surprised appearance and ran in the other direction. To capitalize on this, he then teleported back and forth to close in on Tari and Theo. But whatever direction they took, the heroes are found in a trap by the warlord. Nervous, Tari activated her Meta Runner Vision to find an exit.

"There's no escape for you, Tari. You're about to die!" Vekk-Torr warned the duo.

But in a split second, Tari pulled out her sword and used its whip form to grab a hold of an air vent grate, yanked it off, and used it as a projectile against the warlord, which caught him off guard as it hit him. The heroes jump into the vent and slid down in it like a slide at a playground.

"Why did I put that air vent there?" He questioned himself.

With her powers, Tari and Theo navigated themselves like a bobsled to the storage bay where they arrived. Once they reached there, Theo hung onto Tari's jacket and the two looked at the upcoming grate.

"Theo, brace for impact!" She yelled with her left foot ready to kick the upcoming grate.

She kicked it and the heroes landed on the platform. They ran towards the nearest ship to escape and head back to the planet. Eight crystalline cocoons and an escape pod Theo's size were in it. As she started up the ship, Tari suddenly experienced a migraine.

"I know where you are. I know what you're doing. You cannot run from him." A voice from Remnant telepathically told her.

She then quickly recovered and readied the ship for takeoff, but then, Tri-El and Err-Yr grabbed onto the bottom. Hoping to interfere with the escape plan.

"This is your worst idea, bro," Tri-El said.

"Honestly, it was yours. But yeah, this is stupid." Err-Yr confessed.

But as the ship rose, the duo lost their grips and fell into the contraption that got Tari and Theo to Vekk-Torr's ship in the first place. It then activated and started sending them to the Emerald Forest. As the ship our heroes are on headed to Remnant, Vekk-Torr wasted no time pursuing it. In deep space, near the planet's orbit, he focused on the ship. He then summoned two balls of plasma, one each in his hands. Just as the ship was about to head into the atmosphere, he clapped his hands and transformed the two spheres turned into a scattershot of plasma sparks that blasted holes into the ship forcing it to spin out of control.

"Theo, into the escape pod. We're going down!" Tari ordered.

Theo jumped into the escape pod as the back hatch was forced open by the gravitational pull. Then, the cocoons came out of the spiraling ship one by one. But as the heroes try to escape the ship, a powerful blast from Vekk-Torr destroys it and sends the two in separate directions.

"NO!" Tari screamed.

Debris, Tari, and Theo along with his escape pod, fell from the sky. Right above the island of Patch. Vekk-Torr watched as the heroes fell to the world they were visiting.

"You tried to stop me, Tari… and failed. But soon, there'll be no rest, no love, and no hero in the end who will rise above. As Remnant will fall before me, THE LIVING BLACK HOLE, VEK-TORR!" He cackled.

He then paused for a moment and thought of Tari.

"Speaking of that meddlesome insect, let's add another test subject." He whispered

Elsewhere in Silica City, things have been looking good for MD-5. From Lucinia's horrific scars from the explosion at TASCorp months ago fully healing to said company declaring bankruptcy, and from them becoming celebrities to starring in a movie. Recently, Lucinia and Belle won a Mutant Football League tournament for charity. But as they return to their hideout with a trophy as tall as Lamar, the five of them managed to find a spot right next to their TV. As the five high-fived each other, Belle poured a few drinks for her comrades.

"Oi! To the greater good!" Belle cheered as she raised her glass.

"To the greater good!" The rest shouted.

"Man, that was the best. We represented our charity, AND we won." Lamar chimed in.

"Yeah, it was a great call on picking the Brainwashington Cadavers, Sofia. Those DemBoiz didn't expect what's coming!" Masa smirked.

"Don't mention it. I spent up all night studying each field." Sofia responded.

The group laughed and enjoyed their hospitality. Later, Lamar accessed his laptop to post the recent MD-5 win on social media. However, something caught his eye. A new game just appeared: RWBY: World of Remnant. He did not know how it got into his computer but tempted to play it, he clicked on it. This would warp him into the game. As he got up, he somehow was transported to Haven Academy. His clothes were a lot different when he was warped. His beanie is still the same, but everything else changed. He dons a black t-shirt with a hood with green stripes on the left side, black, white, and yellow fingerless gloves, green and yellow basketball shorts, and white pro wrestling boots with black laces.

"Hey, do I get a weapon? That's not fair!" He yelled.

Suddenly, a bow landed in front of him. Lamar picked it up and examined it.

"Oh come on!" He screamed as he looked at his weapon. "I played in the beta and this is my reward! This is not fair!"

Lamar then decided to break the bow and it transformed into two scimitars, one for each hand.

"Well, this will do for now." He surmised at his weapon's alternate mode.

"Hey, boys, looks like we got a stowaway!" A brainwashed huntsman said.

"Oh shit," Lamar murmured.

Then all of the sudden. Team SSSN, all four with blue-violet eyes. jumped from the top balcony to the floor to encounter the newly arrived Huntsman.

"Well, it seems that Lord Vekk-Torr got us a new plaything. Let's hope it doesn't break like the last one." Neptune nagged his teammates.

The four charged towards Lamar and as Sun arrived to deliver the first blow, Lamar parried it. He then preceded to kick Scarlet in the balls, perform a jumping tornado kick to sage, and then with a few strikes, knocked out Neptune.

"Not bad… for a first year," Sun grunted.

He then activated his semblance Via Sun, to subdue him. Lamar transformed his scimitars into a bow.

"Okay, now what?" He asked himself.

Suddenly, a string and arrow made of hard light began to take form. Lamar then smirked as he saw the constructs being made for him.

"Dodge this, monkey boy," Lamar said as he pulled the bow's string back.

He then fired the arrow, then it went past his clones and struck Sun in the right shoulder. The leader of team SSSN screamed in pain as his clones vanished, and the remaining three ran toward Lamar. Scarlet used Hook's grappling hook to disarm Lamar, and Sage and Neptune knock him unconscious. Sage then delivered a hockey-like check into the wall to make sure he never gets up. The three huntsmen ran towards their leader.

"Sun, are you okay?" Neptune questioned.

As Lamar somehow miraculously recovers, he says something unexpected on Neptune's jeans: The Relic of Knowledge. Suddenly, something came out of his shirt and crawled onto his right arm, a red, silver, and brown robotic centipede with two silver eyes in the front, four times the size of the average centipede. Lamar was about to scream until it muffled him.

"No, you'll get their attention." It whispered.

Lamar, with his mouth muffled, calmed down. The centipede loosened his grip on his mouth and crawled to the ground. Lamar got onto his knees and began talking to it.

"You know what that is, right?" He questioned.

"The Relic of Knowledge? Why, yes." It responded.

"Okay, we need to get out of here. Once you grab that lamp, I grab my bow. We storm out of here." He explained.

"Not bad, kid." It smirked.

The two then ran towards their chosen items, Lamar for his bow and the centipede for the Relic. The former managed to easily pick up his weapon, while the latter was having a rough time. It tried hiding behind Neptune, then repelling himself from the balcony, both with no avail. But then, Lamar gave it a hint: take it off the chain clipped to Neptune's jeans. The centipede used its antennae to unhinge it from the chain and securely removed it. It then ran towards Lamar and gave the lamp to him and crawled under his shirt. He then barged through the doors and sprinted away. Back to team SSSN, the three remaining members help Sun get up and they received a message from Vekk-Torr via hologram.

"Sun, What happened?" He asked.

"Well, that lab rat you brought in is down," Sun responded.

The four turned around to see that Lamar had somehow recovered and escaped.

"On second thought. He managed to escape." Neptune chimed in. "But we got this Relic!"

He pulled the chain clipped to his jeans and revealed nothing. The group looked in shock at the empty chain.

"He stole that as well?!" Sage questioned him.

"Well, find him! Catch him!" Vekk-Torr interrupted.

"Yes, sir!" The four barked.

Team SSSN bolted towards the city to find Lamar.

"Except you, Sun. Save your strength." He ordered.

Meanwhile, at Sakura Park, Lamar was walking with pride in his step. The centipede that helped him crawled out of his shirt's neck hole.

"So, you got a name, little fella?" Lamar asked it.

"First off, do not call me 'little'. I'll snap your neck if you do. Second, the name's Arma-Kade." It responded.

"Arma-Kade, you say? I watched a lot of anime, and you insect types are bad guys." He complimented.

"What the hell is anime?" Arma-Kade questioned Lamar.

The crowd paused and stared at the duo.

"Just relax everyone, he's not that sociable," Lamar informed.

"Hey, zip it!" Arma-Kade barked.

The crowd screamed and ran off in numerous directions.

"Thanks a lot! Now we're sitting ducks!" Lamar ranted.

"You started it!" Arma-Kade alleged.

The two then turned around and saw Scarlet, Sage, and Neptune. In a desperate attempt, Lamar found a motorcycle and he got on it.

"Wait, do you know how to ride this thing… whatever your name is?" Arma-Kade asked.

"Yeah! Name's Lamar!" Lamar replied.

He then inserted the key and started to rev the engine. Then, the motorcycle took off at a crazily fast speed and zoomed past the three huntsmen. The latter group turned around and bolted towards the motorcycle. Scarlet then used Hook's grappling hook to latch onto the muffler and the rest of the trio hung onto him as they were being dragged for the ride.

"Lamar, we got company!" Arma-Kade informed as he looked back.

"Don't worry, I got a plan." Lamar proclaimed when he saw a ramp.

The ramp however was an empty wagon with the side of the handles down. He then focused on it and in a few seconds, they were flying in midair.

"Booyakasha!" Lamar yelled.

"Wrong franchise, pal," Arma-Kade interjected.

The grappling hook began to lose its grapple on the motorcycle and they fell to the ground, leaving the three to have different trajectories on landing. Scarlet landed in a barrel, Neptune landed in a restaurant, but not before he bashed a hole in the roof, and Sage somehow was the luckiest, as he landed on Lamar's lap. With the brainwashed huntsman in his lap, Lamar tried to keep the vehicle in motion. But then Arma-Kade thought of an idea.

"Lamar, prepare to catch the train!" He said.

Sage pulled out Pilgrim and prepared to strike the ground, Lamar then steered right, and as the former swung his sword, the bike, along with its passengers were sent flying. It then smashed through a window at the Mistral Central Station, which sent them tumbling into the fountain. Arma-Kade crawled out of the fountain and squirted out water from its antennae.

"Well, that was fun. Let's do it again." Arma-Kade jested.

"I'll pass." Lamar groaned.

Suddenly, Sage got up and pointed Pilgrim at Lamar.

"Listen you reckless, ignorant daredevil…" He said.

Lamar and Arma-Kade looked in fear of what was about to happen.

"Nice driving." He bragged. "I'm Sage."

Lamar and Arma-Kade gave sighs of relief.

"Lamar. The robot bug is Arma-Kade." Lamar replied.

The two Huntsmen got out of the fountain and approached the motorcycle and picked it up. Sage then took notice of the Relic Lamar has.

"Wait, what's that doing here?" He asked.

"We managed to take it from you guys while you're brainwashed by Vekk-Torr," Lamar responded.

"Vekk-Torr?" Sage asked. "Who is that guy?"

"Why don't we ask the genie in the lamp to find out," Arma-Kade suggested.

The crowd looked at the trio in silence.

"Excuse me, there is a chapel y'all can use." A bystander hollered.

"Great, thank you!" Arma-Kade replied.

The group preceded to the chapel and closed the door. Lamar pulled out the lamp-like Relic, ready for the truth to be revealed.

"You ready?" Arma-Kade questioned the two.

Lamar and Sage nodded their heads in agreement, ready to ask Jinn the question.

Will Lamar, Sage, and Arma-Kade get the answer they've been looking for?

What is the fate of Tari and Theo?

And will the rest of MD-5 take notice of what Lamar is up to?

Be here when all of those questions (excluding the last one) are answered in… Chapter 3: The Greatest Mystery!
