Meaning: Neutrality, balance

She considers it a compliment how willing to share things with her he is.

It was late, even by their standards. She hadn't heard much from him for a few days, so when he knocked on her window an hour before midnight she was surprised to say the least. Before answering the door, she put on some lipstick and ran a comb through her hair, but after seeing the expression on his face, she realized that might not have been needed.

He plopped down on her bed rather heavily, and she threw an arm around his shoulders as he vented to her. The mental simulation they'd been put in had taken it's toll on everyone, but he was among the most damaged by what had happened. The League was trying to get the team set up with Black Canary, but he didn't want that. He wanted to talk to someone who wasn't a shrink or Batman.

She was the first person on his mind.

"I-I know I did what was necessary, but I feel awful about it. I got my best friends killed, all for some pointless mission that wasn't even real." He hugged himself in a desperate attempt to keep warm, and she rubbed his shoulder while pulling him into her chest.

"I wasn't there, but it sounds like you made the hard choice when nobody else could."

"But I killed them. How could I…how could I ever go back to them after that?"

Dick kept his eyes locked on the wall in front of him, not daring to see the horrified expression he was convinced would litter the magician's face. When she didn't respond for a few seconds, he grew worried. Maybe this was a mistake, he thought. Maybe she wouldn't be able to give the comfort he came to her for.

But before he could get up to leave, he gasped when he felt a pair of familiarly soft lips press against his cheek. She pulled away after a second of contact, leaving a bright pink outline of her angelic residue on his face that he cherished the warmth of.

"Sometimes, the world needs you to be bold. Don't let that change who you are, because I kinda like the you I've gotten to know, Birdy."

She extended her arms as he collapsed into them, whispering grateful nothings into her ear as she petted his head and kissed his neck. He eventually craned his neck upwards from a comfortable nest he'd made in her lap, and they shared a soft smile as she looked down at him, her hair draping down to cover them both in a curtain of black.

"You know, I'm really lucky to have you in my life."

"Believe me, the feeling's more than mutual."

She leaned down to kiss him, and he smiled before kissing back.
