Meaning: Surprise, future
Zatanna felt shivers run down her spine when Dick's hands rubbed her belly, still shaking with surprise but calmed down enough to finally just feel her. He exhaled onto the skin of her neck, chin resting on her shoulders. "So this is really happening?" His touch was gentle, delicate with the knowledge of what would soon emerge from their shared passion.
She smiled, placing her hands over his own as he gently traced over her exposed stomach. The cold metal of the ring adorning her finger stung the bare skin of his wrist. "Yeah, I think so."
"Your dad's gonna kill me." Zatanna laughed freely, any prior remnants of fear melting like ice under his fiery touch.
"Forget him, your dad's gonna kill you." Her laughs turned into childish giggles when Dick buried his face in her smooth, raven black hair and groaned.
He eventually smiled weakly and whispered into her neck. "Worth it, though."
"We'll see if you're saying that in nine months." A light chuckle escaped his lips as he brought her closer to his chest and hummed into her neck.
"If she ends up anything like you, I'd say we're gonna be just fine."
"And if he ends up anything like you, I'd say we'll have a pretty big problem on our hands." He laughed, pressing a gentle kiss to her earlobe. Her teasing expression quickly vanished as an anxious frown spread across her lips. "Do you think we're ready?"
"Honestly? Not at all. But that's what makes it so exciting." Zatanna smiled and closed her eyes as Dick began to slowly sway them back and forth. "You're my everything, you know that?" She raised the hand that her beautiful silver ring was resting on with a coy smirk, waggling her fingers to show it off.
"I'd be disappointed if I wasn't, Grayson." He chuckled softly as she reached back to kiss his cheek, his hold around her waist tightening just enough to not discomfort her.
They stayed there for hours, dancing together in the comfort of their living room with a growing eagerness to see what the future would hold for them and their little dove.
