I watched as my son Beetle hopped and jumped around. He was so lucky to be able to do as he pleased without someone always telling him what he could or couldn't be.

It was a quiet moon, I had been feeling so down lately, I could barely move from my twoleg bed to get food and water, dumb dumb leg. I looked down at my leg, still raw and easily bled despite happening nearly 5 moons ago. My little kitten had to explore all by himself, he didn't seem to mind.

"Mama Cream!" yelped my son Beetle, "New cats are coming!"

"Hmm?" I said, looking at two bedraggled… rouges or loners come through the door with our twolegs, eyeing us suspiciously.

"Hi!' yipped Beetle.

"Oh- hello," said one of them, they had the same sand to dark brown pelt, probably related.

"Hello," I said calmly to them.

They nodded greetings saying they won't be here for long.

Over the next few moons it was very eventful, our owners were healers you see, so they often found sick animals, in addition to the sandy colored cats who later I learned names were Sand and Dust, the twoegs found two… clan cats… I had a dislike for any clan cats nowadays except for a few, at least they weren't from evil Thunderclan, Falcon and Burr were their names. Then they also brought back a little kitten named Frost just yesterday, she was about 3 moons, a moon younger than my kit.

Wowza! So many cats! This was so exciting! Falcon had so many interesting stories to tell, and they were so nice to me! Most cats around the neighborhood just politely said Hello after I say Hi! To them and walk away, but these cats are so cool and actually talk to me! I didn't like Frost though, she was too unpredictable… she snapped a lot, and I liked her but… so far I didn't think she liked me.

I walked over to her, after hearing an exciting story about what it was like in Shadowclan before they left, "Hi!"

She tilted her head at us, "What do you want?"

"Just to say hi! Wanna talk? You don't have to talk that much! I can talk!" I said cheerfully with a smile.

She rolled her eyes and said, "I can tell that... I'm sorta trying to rest my head, it was only you know… SPLIT OPEN! So uhh sure, keep yaking my head off, it should be very easy, orrr you could do the preferable option and I don't know… let me Actually Sleep!"

My ears drooped and I walked away miserably. "But hey, we can play later if you want, you can teach me why there is a dangling jingle mouse on that string in that structure later," she called out as I left.

I nodded my head getting the bounce back in my step, oooh I can invite my friends over! They are her age after all! I bolted over towards the houses a street over and went to greet my friends, Alder and Ivy!
