Mei Terumi, the fifth Mizukage, lets out a frustrated sigh in her office. It has been a month and a half since the rumors of a group of people taking those who have kekkei genkai. Each of the five Kage have taken their own precautions in how their citizens handle this. Many of the children now in the academy do not know much of the history of the Blood Mist, how Yagura - once gentle and kind yet firm turned into some monster overnight, though Mei knows Yagura was probably slowly descending into a madness possibly due to the stress of his job maybe some hidden Karatachi curse that's hidden from those not affected.

Ao has taken to training Chojuro more extensively in ninjutsu, Hiramekarei, and his clan's own abilities.

Staring out the window, Mei can see some kids happily playing in the dusk light, she sees a mother quickly pick her child up and scurry away, looking over her shoulder. Many of the older generations have taken to carrying their weapons around, eyeing one another ready for a fight, the younger ones do not quite yet understand what is happening, why their families and sensei's - shinobi and academy - are training them harder, to be more aware, more vigilant.

The cool glass now feels warm against Mei's forehead. Since taking office Mei has taken to heal Kirigakure and those affected from the maroon days. She wants the history of the Mist to be known by everyone who resides so that they know what it once was and the future they are striving towards. Yet, since taking office Mei has gotten many protesters, for whatever reason wanting the reputation of the Blood Mist to retain. Something within Mei is telling her that this may be one of the biggest fights as her term of Mizukage, this one can make or break her criticizers and her time as a Hidden Village leader may end or continue.

"Lady Mizukage?" A soft voice rings, Mei turns and sees Chojuro entering the room.

"Chojuro. Come in."

The young shinobi closes the door as he makes his way towards the desk.

"Lady Mei, is there any update? Many are weary. Some are even calling for blood."

Mei takes in the weight of the words. Everyday she watches her back twice as much, everyday she awaits in case someone or someones attempt a coup. Everyday she waits to see if those who were around during the Blood Mist days go back.

The brunette shakes her head.

"My informants and the other Kage have been silent thus far. The most we know is that a little girl was taken from Konohagakure not too long ago. Though, her identity and clan remain a secret."

"Can't we join forces and go look for her?" Chojuro inquires, head tilted slightly to his right.

Mei shakes her head. "You still have a lit to learn before you can be considered for the role of Kage, one of them being knowing when to bide your time and wait for a chance to strike. Plans change according to what information you may get. If you go into something with limited information there is a chance things could go wrong and then nearly every hour of planning is ruined."

Chojuro nods his head though he does not look so sure. Himself or Mei, she does not know. Mei has been keeping an eye on Chojuro in the possibility that he can one day be her successor or her successor's successor. Despite growing up in the Blood Mist, Chojuro has the heart of someone who has not seen the amount of blood shed that the Mist used to carry.

Sometimes the strongest thing a person can do is be kind when they are born in a place where kindness is a rarity. Mei muses.

With that final thought the two leave for the evening.
