Prologue - The Darkest Day: Black Sun Rises

I remember that day like it was yesterday. In those days, people thought it was paranoid to keep guns in the house, despite the war in Ukraine just a few years earlier and all the minor conflicts around the world. Your generation doesn't even know how much I wanted them to be right and it was just paranoia. Especially those first minutes were tragic when people started to drop like flies for no reason known to us at the time.

Interview with Staff Captain, Sigiwald Kleinpeter, 26 AW

=location: Beriln=

On the streets of Berlin, life went on as usual. People were walking on the street and the morning traffic jams were at their peak. On that spring day, Sigiwald was sitting comfortably at home and relaxing. The policeman had a rare day off today and decided to use it to just lie on the couch and watch TV while having a healthy breakfast. He was due to visit his parents at 12, so he still had plenty of time.

Suddenly he felt a strange feeling in his heart. As if something wanted to take a piece of his soul. But the feeling disappeared as quickly as it began. Sigiwald was about to ignore it completely when he heard a bang. He looked out the window and noticed three disturbing things.

The first was a road accident. A red car crashed into another at the intersection.

The second was that several people were lying on the sidewalk and road. A mass collapse? But something like this wasn't normally possible.

The last thing he saw was the sudden blackening of the sun as the sky began to turn red and black clouds began to appear at an unimaginable pace.

Sigiwald was never a big believer, but he subconsciously begged God for help. He quickly grabbed his uniform and gun, along with all the ammunition he had at home and a first-aid kit, and ran out into the streets, specifically toward the scene of the accident. When he arrived there, he saw many people crying and terrified. Then he saw that all the elderly in sight were dead.

"Police." - said Sigiwald, approaching the accident group of people. Fortunately, several people have already started helping the injured - "What happened here?"

"We don't know." - said the nearest man - "One moment everything was normal, then this strange feeling and all these old people died."

"You mean you felt something strange and suddenly all the elderly people in the area died?" - asked Sigiwald. Now that he looked at the driver of the red car, he saw that he, too, was most likely old.

"Not in the area." - said the man - "Everywhere the eye can see. There's an accident there too."

Sigiwald quickly confirmed this with a glance, but he was focusing more and more on maintaining his confidence. These people were on the verge of panic, if he showed even a shadow of a doubt, he would have to deal with a potential riot. Although until today he didn't think that riots in Berlin were possible.

"I understand you've already called an ambulance." - Sigiwald said.

"The thing is, our phones don't have a signal. All of them. Only the car radio works. replied the man.

"And first aid?"

"Fortunately, the cars didn't crash at high speed, so all the injured are alive with only minor injuries. We've already stopped the bleeding."

"All right." - said Sigiwald - "If there is no signal then-"

Suddenly, Sigiwald stopped as he heard screams. He quickly turned his attention in that direction and couldn't believe his eyes. He just saw what can only be described as a monster. The humanoid, a blue creature with large teeth, more than one pair of eyes, and wings, grabbed the woman and began to eat her. The worst part was that hundreds of them started to appear. It's as if they suddenly revealed themselves from some field of invisibility. From their direction, he could infer that they were coming from the direction of the Reichstag.

"Everyone to the cars and drip!" - Sigiwald shouted, cocking his gun. He quickly got into the nearest car and waited for it to fill up. The driver did not complain and waited until as many people as possible entered the car.

Then Sigiwald noticed the creatures approaching and opened fire. Several of these monsters fell to the ground, but the driver, hearing the shots, lost his temper and started to drive as far away from these things as possible.

=location: Rabat, 1h from invasion=

A group of 4 M60A3 tanks led a column of 16 trucks belonging to the Royal Moroccan Army. Target, the capital of Morocco, Rabat. The reason, an unknown enemy attacked the capital, and all nearby military units were to launch an immediate counterattack. Moroccan soldiers were uneasy due to rumors that spread among the army. They are said to attack demons and other monsters. They've heard of giant spiders, giant carnivorous devils with swords, and much more. Many said it was Judgment Day. That God is sending them to make mankind pay for their sins. Additionally, all satellite communications were down, only the radio, so it was unknown what happened to the soldier's families, and the only communications they heard were of battles in each neighboring country.

Suddenly the vehicles stopped and the officer ordered them to get out immediately and line up. The entire platoon of soldiers quickly lined up in front of the officer who began his speech - "I won't lie to you, monsters have begun to invade our country and many more. The situation seems very dark, but there are pluses. These creatures die from bullets and their only ranged weapons are throwing boulders, acid, or whatever. That means each of you can easily kill 10 of these guys. This is the bare minimum I give you. Whoever kills less in this battle will be disciplined for neglecting duty. Is that understandable?!"

"Yes sir!" - answered the soldiers.

"It's a march ahead to the city." - the officer shouted back.

Moroccan troops began a slow march towards the city, encountering many civilians on the way, fleeing from the army of monsters. The first creatures were spotted after only 3 minutes and the tanks immediately opened fire with HE ammunition, killing dozens of them. As soon as the group of monsters began to approach, the infantry opened fire. Red, horned dogs, the best description they could find for them, quickly began to be pierced by bullets and failing to the ground. The accuracy of the Moroccan forces was one of the best in Africa, and the training itself was in many units at the level of NATO countries or China.

However, the ammo was running out quickly and everyone in the squad had to reload at least once before the last of these monsters fell, approaching less than 10 meters. However, the tanks had not yet stopped firing as soon as they saw what could only be described as red devils with great swords.

As they began to charge, a few Moroccan soldiers began to wonder in the backs of whether they would have enough ammo until reinforcements arrived, or whether the creatures would overwhelm them with more bullets than they had.
