Lemons, but they were completely unplanned, I swear.
Also fixed the formatting. Thanks for the heads up.

Ruby gave Weiss a kiss on the cheek.
"Latte with no sugar." Weiss said blearily.
"I gotcha." Ruby smirked. "Whatcha making me for breakfast?"
"Buuuuurnt- toast." Weiss drawled, poking Ruby's nose.
Ruby flinched, surprised. Then, a small smile sprouted from her lips.
"Wait until the world hears about this." She said, wrapping Weiss up in a hug. "Master Chef Weiss Schnee Burns Girlfriend's Buns."
"Noooo, don't!" Weiss said, giggling. "I'll deny it."
"I'll be interviewed. I'll use the toast as evidence." Ruby put on a sad dramatic face. "She-She really lit a fire. Right under my ass."
Weiss gave Ruby a good smack right on cheeks.
Ruby yelped.
"What was that?" She said, trying to act affronted.
"The fire." Weiss gave Ruby a kiss on the cheek. "You know, you're almost as good as coffee." She whispered.
Ruby felt her face grow very hot. She pressed her lips together, thoughts coming together.
"I'm a lot closer than the coffee sho-"
Weiss pressed her hand over Ruby's mouth.
"Al-most." Weiss popped each syllable. She released her hand.
"So — you want me to go?" Ruby said.
"Only so I can make you breakfast." Weiss said, folding her arms. She took a small step back. "Shoo." She said, flitting her fingers toward the door.
"Kay." Ruby grinned at Weiss. She turned to leave. Weiss followed.
Just before Ruby opened the door, she paused.
"Just so you know." Ruby said.
"Hm?"
In a second, Ruby grabbed Weiss by the waist and twisted, pressing her into the wall by the door. Her arms cradled Weiss' back.
Weiss yelped. Then she was muffled by Ruby's mouth wetly exploring Weiss'. Playfully flitting Weiss' tongue with her own. Cradling Weiss' cheek firmly with one hand. Enveloping Weiss. Nudging her thoughts downward.
And then Ruby pulled away.
"I've been wanting to do that all morning." She growled.
Then she was gone, the door slammed shut behind her. Then the car door slammed shut. And Weiss was trying to slam shut her floodgates but the way Ruby tasted in that moment-
Mmmmmmmmm! Damn that cheeky Red!
Frustrated, Weiss balled up her fists. She walked into the kitchen, looking to vent into food.
What the hell was in this house that she could cook!?
Weiss opened the fridge. Inside was reasonably stocked, and only slightly messy. They didn't go that far last night.
Gotta clean up before things get too messy.
Weiss found three eggs, kimchi, two heads of wilted bok choy, some grated cheddar, mayonnaise, gochujang, green onion, bell peppers, and three jugs of whole milk. Weiss rolled her eyes, shutting the fridge. She checked the pantry, and grabbed an onion from its depths.
Weiss looked at the pile before her. Almost a half-way decent omelette. She nodded, satisfied. This'll work.
Weiss set about cooking. Whisking the eggs, dicing the peppers, slicing the onions, and mixing the mayonnaise and gochujang.
As she worked, her mind wandered to what she said this morning.
Will you run away with me?
Weiss cringed, equal parts embarrassed and excited by her words. Run away with me. Like a fairy tale. Like a fantasy.
But fantasies don't have complicated emotions. Or money. Or pride. Weiss had all three.
Money. That was easy. Weiss didn't have any. Her Father paid for everything through credit cards she had. So technically, she had lots of money. But if she spent it on the wrong thing, he could cancel the charge. If she spent it on flight tickets or train tickets, he'd know. And he'd find her.
That led directly into pride.
Weiss set a pan on Ruby's stove. She cranked the heat and oiled it. Electric stoves were temperamental, you had to watch them like a hawk.
Pride. Weiss didn't want Ruby's help. Not in a monetary way. Weiss was a big girl. She wouldn't beg. She wouldn't be a burden to someone she loved.
Weiss flinched. The pan jerked back, and some oil splashed up on her wrist.
"Shit." Weiss said to herself. She pulled the pan from the heat, and went to the sink. She ran some lukewarm water on her wrist. The burn didn't hurt.
The complicated emotions, on the other hand, stung.
Returning to the stove, Weiss set the pan back on the heat. She dumped the bell pepper and onion into the pan. She tossed them to evenly coat the veggies in oil, then let them sit on medium-low.
Love. Did Weiss love Ruby? They'd only met a few months ago. And Ruby was the first woman she'd been with in a long time. Not that that should make a difference, but was Weiss rushing it? Or was it out of desperation? Looking for something, anything, to make this world feel not quite awful?
She didn't want to use Ruby.
Weiss seasoned the veg with salt and pepper. She gave it another toss. The onion was almost translucent. She took the sliced bok choy and added it to the pan. The leaves absorbed some of the remaining oil, their green turning somewhat darker and wet.
"Stupid girl." Weiss whispered to herself. "You can't do this without her."
The door opened.
"I got your spiteful bean juice!" Ruby called out. "And I grabbed a couple croissants."
Weiss wiped her eyes. She gave the veg another toss, then poured it out on a plate.
"Chocolate-filled I assume?" Weiss asked. She put the pan under some water and wiped the remaining bits of food from it with a paper towel.
"Nope! Plain Jane croissants. Classic croissants." Ruby poked her head into the kitchen. "Cwaaa-soooonts." She said with a French flair.
Weiss smirked, shaking her head. She set the pan back on the heat, adding a pat of butter.
"You're ridiculous." She said, eyes wrinkled in amusement.
Ruby set the coffee and croissants on the counter. She held a hand to her heart.
"Aw, you love it." Ruby said, wrapping her arms around Weiss' waist, resting her chin on Weiss' shoulder.
Weiss gulped. She pressed her shoulders against Ruby.
"I do." Weiss said softly.
"Knew iiiiit." Ruby said, nuzzling Weiss' nape.
"No, I mean-" Weiss took a breath. "I love you."
Ruby's grip tightened around Weiss' belly.
"Yeah?" Ruby asked.
"Y-Yeah." Weiss said. The pan was shaking. No, wait. Her hand was shaking. The butter melted. She needed to add egg before it browned, or the omelette would be brown, and she couldn't ruin breakfast, she wanted Ruby to have breakfast, a good breakfast.
Ruby's hand rested on Weiss', guiding the pan down to the stove. She reached past Weiss and turned off the heat.
"What're y-Whoa!" Weiss cried out as Ruby picked her up. "What are you doing?" Weiss snapped, indignant.
"Carrying you to the couch." Ruby said simply.
"I'm making breakfast." Weiss growled. She tapped her fist against Ruby's head, like she would smack a weasel. "Put me down!"
Ruby deposited Weiss on the full length of the couch. She pulled Weiss' ass to the arm of the couch. She then laid on Weiss, pressing the full length of her body against Weiss'. Smothering her. Nose to nose.
"Ruby-"
"I love you too." Ruby said, bumping her forehead against Weiss'.
The words died in Weiss' throat. Her mouth was sticky. She didn't have any water this morning. She hadn't showered! She tried to push her hands down, to cover herself.
"I'm not-"
"I love you and I want you." Ruby said. "Don't you believe me?"
". . .Of course I believe you." Weiss said.
"Then what's the problem?" Ruby started planting kisses from the bottom of Weiss' ear to the jut of her jaw.
"I'm scared." Weiss admitted.
"Scared of what?" Ruby asked.
"Scared if I'm rushing things. Scared that I'm just using you. That I can't provide." Weiss admitted.
"But you're worth it." Ruby grinned.
Weiss felt a wave of numbness shock her body. Followed by a tingling joy that soaked her flesh. Her teeth sunk into her lower lip. She nodded against Ruby's shoulder.
"Say it." Ruby ordered, pulling back, silver eyes piercing her. Cutting to her core.
"I'm worth it." Weiss complied. She believed it, and Ruby knew. Ruby knew!
Ruby smiled, and leaned down. She planted the softest, most tender kiss Weiss had ever known. Her lips grazed Weiss' like whipped cream resting on the back of a spoon. Her heart seized, and warmth flooded her core.
"Again." Ruby whispered. Then she made her way down Weiss' body, lifting the black tank top to expose Weiss' breasts.
"I'm worth it." Weiss answered.
Ruby paid that same gentle attention to Weiss' breasts. Soft nibbles, soft licks. Then, one small flick with the tip of her nail.
Weiss let out a sharp moan. Her legs pressed together hard, searching for some kind of stimulation.
Ruby kissed her way down Weiss' abdomen, pulling the pajama pants down, down, until they came right off Weiss' ankles. Her hands spread Weiss' legs, and Weiss was powerless to stop her. The fears and doubts swelled up inside her mind, banging on the fugue of lust and want. Weiss was trapped in the middle, her body screaming to stay and her mind begging to go.
"Again." Ruby commanded, one finger tracing the outer folds of Weiss' bare pussy.
"I'm worth it." Weiss said in a quiet, scared voice. She stared right a Ruby, unblinking, Ruby's breath teasing her. She was quivering.
Ruby's mouth opened. Tenderly, she placed her lips right over the whole of Weiss' core, cupping Weiss' pussy with her mouth. And there was no room to think anymore. No doubt.
Weiss mewled. Her hand found Ruby's hair, gripping it hard, pulling Ruby closer into her.
Ruby hummed. She brought her tongue from the bottom of Weiss' pussy to the top. The tip pressed into Weiss' clit, sending a shock through Weiss.
"Ruby." Weiss whined. "Don't-Don't tease."
Ruby grinned. Weiss was sweet, like salted cream. Intoxicating. She gave a small kiss to Weiss' clit, then set to work, digging the bridge of her nose into Weiss' clit, letting her mouth and tongue explore her depths.
"Yes~." Weiss sighed, grinding into Ruby's mouth. Feeling the stress and pain in her muscles sharpen to a razor's edge. Her whole body tensed up tight. The world grew smaller as Weiss could only focus on her hand clenching Ruby's hair and Ruby's tongue lapping at her pussy. She tried to catch her breath, but it kept slipping from her. Harder. Harder.
"Harder Ruby." Weiss begged. Ruby complied, her fingers gripping Weiss' hips, pushing her tongue deeper. Rubbing her nose against Weiss' clit.
"Don't stop. Don't stop. Don't-" Weiss felt it build and build and then it-
Came.
A long, low moan squealed past Weiss' lips. All the tension and sharp pain came to an astounding clarity. Her hips bucked into Ruby's mouth, then started shaking like jelly. Both her hands tangled in Ruby's hair, twisting it in her fingers. Then her nerves were soaked with the deepest pleasure she'd felt in her life. Waves of it radiating from her core with every twirl of Ruby's tongue. Her whole body relaxed, leaving her a heaving, sopping mess on the couch.
Finally, peace.
Weiss came down to Earth slowly. Her fingers lazily brushing Ruby's hair. She hummed softly to herself, basking.
Ruby put her head on Weiss' belly, her throat resting on Weiss' wetness.
"Hey." She said.
"Hey." Weiss answered. She dragged her nails down the side of Ruby's head. One lazy knuckle reached out, gently caressing Ruby's cheekbone.
"Better than coffee?" Ruby asked, smiling cheekily.
"As if the coffee even got a chance." Weiss giggled. Ruby's voice tickled. "I almost feel like I could sleep again."
"Well, we should eat breakfast." Ruby mused.
Weiss swatted Ruby.
"You're one to talk." Weiss said, once again indignant. "Interrupting the chef while she's cooking."
"You're right." Ruby snapped her fingers. "I've got to fix this." Ruby stood up. "I'll finish breakfast."
Before Ruby could leave, Weiss shakily pushed herself up. She flung her arms forward, wrapping them around Ruby's waist, pulling her close.
"Whoop." Ruby exclaimed, regaining her footing. Her hands came to rest. One on Weiss' shoulder, the other petting her head.
"Hey."
"I love you Ruby." Weiss said.
"I love you Weiss." Ruby answered.
"Can we leave?" Weiss asked. Hopeful. Scared.
"Yes." Ruby said.
"Together?"
"How else?"
"How?" Weiss asked.
"Well, I own my car." Ruby looked toward the door. "And my family will help."
"Oh." Weiss looked up, meeting Ruby's eyes. "Will they be fine with me?"
Ruby nodded.
"They're gonna love you." Ruby grinned. "And they're gonna work you like a donkey." She said, eyes twinkling.
"Ha." Weiss huffed, turning her nose up at Ruby, despite Ruby having a full two feet on Weiss. "Keep that up. See if I return the favor."
"My apologies, Ice Queen." Ruby said mournfully, poking Weiss' nose.
"I do not love that nick name." Weiss growled. She released Ruby from her grip. She swung her feet to the floor. "Fuck, I soaked the arm." She sighed.
"Good, then its yours." Ruby said, walking to the kitchen. "Want me to finish up?" She asked, looking at the food.
"N-No." Weiss said, standing up shakily. "I want you to get my cigarettes from the bedroom please."
"Yes ma'am." Ruby saluted, walking to her room.
Weiss leaned over, pulling the pajama pants onto her legs. One, then the other. She wobbled to the kitchen and retrieved her coffee. She took a sip. Miraculously, it was still warm.
Ruby returned, holding a pack of cigarettes, half a joint, and a black lighter with a red diamond in the center.
"Shall we?" Ruby said, gesturing to the front door.
"Yes."
Together, they went outside, sitting on the steps of Ruby's apartment. Ruby sparked her joint, sucking in some smoke, before passing Weiss the lighter. Weiss fished a stick from her pack and sparked it.
"Where will we keep our stuff?" Weiss asked, picking up her coffee. "Until we can get a place."
"We don't have to worry about that." Ruby said.
"What do you mean?" Weiss asked.
"I mean I have it all figured out." Ruby shrugged, taking another hit.
"Explain." Weiss demanded, sipping her coffee.
"Okay." Ruby snapped her fingers. "One second." Ruby got up and went inside.
Weiss rolled her eyes.
A second later, Ruby came back outside.
"Forgot to leave this here." Ruby said, setting her joint on the stairs. She went back inside.
Weiss enjoyed the moment of quiet. The sky was full of small clouds that mottled the sunlight. They raced across the sky, but Weiss could only feel a gentle cold breeze in the Atlas morning.
She breathed in deep, taking a drag of her cigarette, letting the smoke dance from her tongue.
The door opened. Ruby sat on the steps, scroll in hand. It was on speakerphone, and it was ringing.
"Who are you calling?" Weiss asked.
The phone picked up.
"Hello? Ruby?" A gruff, grumpy voice answered.
"Morning Uncle Qrow!" Ruby answered cheerfully.
Weiss' cigarette fell from her lips into her lap. She squeaked, then picked it up.
"What's that? You got a mouse problem?" Qrow asked.
"Nope!" Ruby answered. "Are you missing me? Are you?"
"Nope." Qrow echoed.
"Aw." Ruby's shoulders fell. "Well, I guess you won't have to."
"Did the Schnee bitch already fire you?" Qrow asked.
Weiss suddenly forgot there was a world class chef on the scroll. She cleared her throat.
"The Schnee bitch is right here." Weiss growled.
"Ah — Ruby." Qrow said.
"Yes?" Ruby cringed.
"Tell someone if they're on speaker-phone so they can be polite." Qrow said.
"Well, would you. . . Be polite?" Ruby asked.
Silence.
"Fair enough." Qrow said. "Why are you calling me?"
"I'm running away with an heiress and I was curious if you could give us a job in Patch?" Ruby asked.
Again, silence.
Weiss gave Ruby a sharp look.
Ruby pulled back, holding up her hands in surrender.
"BHAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAH!" Qrow suddenly belted out laughing, startling Ruby and Weiss. He kept laughing. And laughing.
"What is going on?" Weiss asked weakly, taking another drag.
"This is fine." Ruby reassured her. "I think."
"Aaaaah. Aahahah." Qrow finished. "HEY! BRIAN! COLT!"
"Yes chef?" Ruby and Weiss heard in the background.
"You're fired." Qrow said. "You two have two weeks." He said, returning to Weiss and Ruby. "I've got a shed if you need to store some things. Have you told Yang or Tai?"
"Not yet. Just wanted to secure some work first." Ruby answered, beaming. "You're the best Uncle Qrow!"
"Yeah yeah. Hey, Mouse." Qrow said.
"Me?" Weiss asked.
"Yes, you. You know what you're signing up for?" Qrow asked.
"I've been on the waiting list to stage at Summer's Set for years." Weiss answered stiffly.
"I know. I thought it was funny to keep you on it." Qrow drawled.
"What the actual fuck?" Weiss deadpanned.
"Do you know what you're signing up for in regards to my niece?" Qrow pressed. "What she's been through, and what her family will do to protect her?"
Weiss pressed her lips together. She looked at Ruby, who sheepishly looked back.
"Your niece is the first person in my life to take care of me." Weiss set her coffee down and took Ruby's hand in her own. "I want the privilege to help take care of her."
"Hmph." Qrow sighed. "Give me a heads up when you're on your way." He hung up.
Weiss sat in shocked silence. She grabbed her coffee, took a big gulp, and sucked down another drag.
"That went well!" Ruby beamed.
"It was certainly. . . Something." Weiss said.
"He likes you." Ruby said, nudging Weiss' shoulder.
"I'm not sure that's a good thing." Weiss took another drag. "Did he just fire two people for us?"
"Nah." Ruby waved her hand. "Probably two stages he didn't want to put up with." Ruby shifted closer. "Trust me. He wouldn't fire those guys just to make room for us. He's an asshole, but he's never been one for nepotism."
"Did you just say nepotism?" Weiss asked.
"I know words, Weiss." Ruby said, exasperated. She threw an arm over Weiss' shoulders. "I just want you to see."
"See what?" Weiss asked.
"That this'll work out. That I've got your back. That my family has your back." Ruby said. She squeezed Weiss' shoulder. "No matter what."
". . . Okay." Weiss relented.
"Good!" Ruby finished her joint, crushing the tip into the stairs. "Now we've got a lot of planning to do. So, how about we finish breakfast?" She asked, standing up.
Weiss finished her cigarette and stuffed the butt into her pack. She took Ruby's proffered hand and stood up, smiling.
"Yeah. Let's."
Together, they stepped inside.
